Ruth is a beautiful pastoral idyll telling the story of Ruth, the Moabitess, and her mother-in-law Naomi. The two women return to Naomi’s homeland, Judah, where Ruth, the foreigner, marries Boaz. Ruth was the great-grandmother of David, the ancestor of Jesus.
