Jeremiah

Jeremiah is the book of the prophet Jeremiah, who receives the divine call to prophesy while very young. It is his mission to predict doom upon his nation for its many sins. For this he is hated by the priests and the people. More important than prophecies is the emphasis Jeremiah places on personal religion.
Jeremiah 1
1:18 For, behold, I have made thee this day a defenced city, and an iron pillar, and brazen walls against the whole land, against the kings of Judah, against the princes thereof, against the priests thereof, and against the people of the land.
