Ernest Winston Angley

August 9, 1921 — May 7, 2021

Our beloved pastor and evangelist, Reverend Ernest Angley, went home to be with his Lord on May 7, 2021.

Ernest Winston Angley was born on August 9, 1921, in Mooresville, North Carolina to the late Julius and Fannie Angley.

At the young age of 18, Rev. Angley gave his heart to the Lord and began his lifetime of service to win the lost at any cost.  He preached the Gospel in its fullness; and the Lord blessed the people with salvation, miracles and healings.

While attending college, Rev. Angley started dating his future wife, Esther Sikes; and together, they came to Akron, Ohio and established Grace Cathedral and later, Ernest Angley Ministries.

Rev. Angley was preceded in death by his beloved wife Esther (Angel), brothers and sisters, Judson, Clyde, Lillian (Tay), Leitha (Pete), Cleo and Bea. He is survived by his dear sister-in-law, Aline, much-loved niece, Gail, and many other family, friends, members of Grace Cathedral and ministry partners.

Reverend Angley will be greatly missed. He was not only a pastor, evangelist and author; he was also a true friend and a spiritual leader who cared deeply for his staff, congregation and ministry partners. They all loved him very much.

Rev. Angley’s legacy comes from his own words — “If I die before the Rapture takes place, I’d want these words to be said about me: He pleased God.”

Rev. Angley’s favorite scripture passage was, Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. (Proverbs 3:5,6)

Notes of remembrance can be posted at ErnestAngley.org.

Visitation will be held from 10 am until 5 pm on Saturday, May 22 at Grace Cathedral, 2700 State Rd., Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio. A Funeral Celebration will be held on Sunday, May 23 at 12 pm at Grace Cathedral in Cuyahoga Falls. Rev. Chris Machamer and Rev. Steve Millar officiating. The Funeral Celebration will be live streamed on the Ernest Angley Ministries’ Facebook page and YouTube channel. Private interment will take place at a later date.

If I were to die before the Rapture, that is what I would want to be said about me—that I pleased God.

-Ernest Angley

Put the work of God above your very life; be willing to die for His name’s sake. I have told the Lord many times that if I can bring more people into the Kingdom by my death than by my life, so be it. In whatever way the Lord wants to use me, I want to be used. I don’t want to live a moment longer if I can’t win souls.

-Ernest Angley

No matter what comes their way, they know they must finish their work for the Lord. And then however they die, however the Lord can get the most glory out of their lives, they are willing. I know I am willing for the Lord to take me or use me however He wants to win souls for His work and for His divine purpose to be done.

-Ernest Angley

The Bible tells us in Acts 14:22 that Paul and Barnabas advised people to continue in the faith. They wouldn’t always be there to talk to them personally to bring them out of feelings. I say that to you today: Even if I’m not with you, you must continue in faith, not your feelings.

-Ernest Angley

If the Rapture doesn’t happen first, the Lord in a wonderful, gentle manner will light the path to Heaven all the way. Not even a shadow will darken the valley.

-Ernest Angley

I have told the Lord many times that if I can bring more people into the Kingdom by my death than by my life, so be it. In whatever way the Lord wants to use me, I want to be used. I don’t want to live a moment longer if I can’t win souls. I live to help people, to bless them.

-Ernest Angley

I have a standing order with the Lord: “Dear Jesus, anything that I ask you must be done according to your divine will or I don’t want it, no matter what I say. I just want prayers answered that are according to your divine will. Oh, please God, look at all my tomorrows and work accordingly.”

-Ernest Angley

I live to do God’s will. If He sees fit for me to make the Rapture, good; but if He sees fit to take me home before, that’s all right, too. If He wants to sacrifice my life to bring in more souls to His Kingdom, so be it. Whatever He wants, I want. Jesus died for me, and I’m willing to live or die for Him.

-Ernest Angley

My Journey is a short one; and although I know I may go home by way of the grave, I believe that I will meet Christ in the air in the Rapture.

-Ernest Angley

I have committed everything to the Lord; I have nothing left to give. Whether I live or die, all of my strength and every part of me belongs entirely to Him to use in any way that He desires. I can say with the Apostle Paul, For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand (II Timothy 4:6).

-Ernest Angley

  • Dear Reverend Angley,

My family and I got to know about your Ministry through Divine Providence.  Through your prayers and the blest cloths , we got healed and delivered many times from sicknesses and diseases.  Your sermons ignited faith in our hearts. Oh how I loved to read the Holy Ghost Magazines! Your books are on my Shelve.

Reverend Angley,  you preached the undiluted word of God with an unwavering faith. You loved to go to Heaven by way of rapture but God’s divine will was for you to go through the way of grave.

I thank God for rare privilege of knowing and the Jesus Ministry.

I can never forget your two statements ” I believe in miracles because I believe in God”  “You are special to God”

I am sure you are in heaven rejoicing with your precious Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ and your precious wife Angel.

I know we shall see at the resurrection morning dearly beloved of God when the time ripens.

Yours Trusting in the finished work of Christ

  • I was raised at Grace Cathedral where Reverend Angley taught how to live holy before God. He made the Bible come alive and showed us that through living holy you can receive anything you need for soul, mind and body. There are so many things that can be said about Reverend. He was a teacher, preacher, prophet and author, but to me he was family. If there was anything I needed to talk to him about, he was always there. He helped me raise my children by teaching God’s word to me and to them and by talking to them any time they needed him. He did not compromise about anything concerning God, if God said it, he believed it. That is why God was able, through the gifts of the Holy Ghost, to work through him to bring healing and deliverance to so many throughout the world. We will miss him greatly, but I look forward to the sound of the trumpet, he will be coming with Jesus in the air! That great day is not far away! Much love and thanks to you Reverend Ernest Angley!

  • Dearest Church:  We will all miss him, he was our dad and spoiled us so with great love,  patience, and guidance!  He always gave us answers from God when we didn’t know what to do.  May God bless you Reverend Machamer and Reverend Millar to bring the last of the harvest in!  We back you 100%.  We fasted and prayer for Reverend Angley.  Prayed for him daily.  The way of our Lord is perfect and we will work until we meet Reverend in the air with our Lord.  We will be with Reverend all eternity after we bring the last souls in one - big sweep!  We have been in this ministry since 1991 Dan was delivered of the last stage-Stage IV cancer you can’t go any lower than that no cure no plan no treatment but Dan was backstage with Reverend Angley after every service as he prayed the power of God down on him and Dan is now cured per his doctors.  No more cancer!  Love you Reverend Angley - Dan and Darlene Handa

  • I’ve been apart of this ministry for 15 years now and Rev. Angley practically helped raise me. He helped me through the hardest valleys I’ve ever had to go through. He was always there to pray for me or encourage me. Rev. Angley was not only the Man of God and the Prophet of God; he was my friend. I am beyond grateful I had the opportunity of knowing Rev. Angley. He was the most amazing person I’ve ever known and will ever know. I thank God for bringing me to this ministry where I’ve received countless miracles and healings; where I found true salvation and the Holy Ghost baptism. My heart breaks now that Reverend isn’t here but my heart rejoices knowing he’s in heaven with our Lord and his precious wife Angel. Rev. Angley, I miss you so much and love you with all my heart. Thank you for always giving us pure truth. Thank you for giving your life for souls; I was one of those souls. I love you Rev. Angley, I will meet you again on that glorious rapture day.

  • I am looking out of the window in my house at Nairobi, Kenya thanking God for the rare opportunity to be part of the mission that God gave The Rev Ernest Angley. Through the exceeding grace and unfathomable favour of our God, a country boy from Gastonia, Moorseville, North Carolina became a world-renowned Healing, Holiness, and Salvation Evangelist, Preacher, Prophet, Teacher, Television Station Owner, Celebrated Author, Award winning media producer, spiritual advisor to presidents, Mentor and Minister of the gospel to billions when He said yes to God and dedicated himself sacrificially and totally to helping hurting people around the world. It’s amazing how the nine gifts of the spirit operated powerfully through Rev Angley. His love and compassion was only exceeded by his joy in the LORD. A man who sacrificed all including making the ultimate sacrifice in making a choice to having no biological children of his own so as to devote all his time, resources and energy to serving Jesus and winning souls like St. Paul.
He lived as God’s General and impacted the lives of millions if not billions around the world, and it was my greatest honour to visit him at Grace Cathedral,USA. I also had the rare privilege to and to see first hand with my naked eyes, God at work in his life saving, healing and delivering millions through the crusades in Kigali, Rwanda and Soweto South Africa. His impact in Africa is undeniably concrete. The spiritual landscapes of several African countries including Zimbabwe, Lesotho, Nigeria, Mozambique, Uganda, Zambia, among others were transformed greatly through his ministry. President Federick Chiluba of Zambia was among several African leaders who basked in the glory and light of God upon Rev. Angley to the betterment of their nations.
We extend our heartfelt condolences to the ministry and the universal body of Christ on the passing of God’s General.
Rev Ernest Angley’s transition is a colossal loss to every one of us but a great gain to Heaven’s stable shores. The body of Christ has lost a doyen of healing and faith, a prophet sent like Moses to our generation.
Undoubtedly, he has reached the fulfilment of our faith. He now enjoys the fellowship of the Saints triumphant and the enormity of the great inheritance of the Kingdom of God, and now walks upon streets of gold alongside the love of his life, Angel Lee Sikes!
We should all be the most miserable of communities had it not been that we are assured that we will see him again in eternity.
Until that glorious day, we bid adieu, to the great man of God, doyen of faith, demonstrator of accurate divine healing, champion of faith and deliverance . Our memories of him, his impact, and his legacy live on in all who knew and loved him. It will be hard to fit in the large shoes he left but we are blessed that he empowered many of us to carry the baton and the mantle of power through the online Bible college, the library of literature, prayers, the ever effective blest cloth and other divine inspired ministry resources.
Good evening my spiritual father, my ordainer, my prayer partner, and my counsellor. You believed in me when I was a nobody and made me somebody. You made me attend bible college free of charge and took care of all my costs including airport pick up, hot meals at the buffet, and wonderful accommodation at your bible college residence. I have indeed benefited directly and immensely from your humility, kindness, and generousity. I will forever treasure your trainings, prayers and impartation.I will never forget five hundred and seventy emails and hundreds upon hundreds of personal letters sent to me over the years. You took your precious time off your no doubt very busy schedule to write to me every week for over fifteen years and each anointed mail had an accurate spiritual diagnosis and permanent divine solution to the issue of the day. Sad to receive your last email on 7th May, 2021 hours before your coronation to glory. Thank you for making me a proof producer and making me an effective minister of the gospel and for always reminding me to win the lost at all costs, to believe in miracles because I believe in God, and most importantly to focus on things above because we are living on borrowed time.Goodbye my spiritual trainer, my ministry boss, and my ordainer. See you in the morning,Prophet Ernest Angley. You earned your crown

I have been in this Ministry for over 65 years, and I am so thankful that God sent Him to Akron Ohio I don’t think I would be on my way to Heaven if He had not been obedient to God .
I loved him so much He was always there for me and my family

  • Go rest high our beloved Pastor Reverend Angley!  We miss him but will see him soon in heaven.  What a home coming he must of had in heaven surrounded by God’s children, Jesus, the angels and his family. We will continue working the harvest field until the Lord comes to take His Bride away.  Nothing matters but souls for God.  Reverend Angley has always been there when I needed him be it counseling, prayer and guidance.  He taught me so much and with godly advice and prayers, I am free this day.  So I am compelled to go forth and be a light for the Lord and help win the lost at any cost. Thanks to Reverend Angley, who help guide us through good times and tough times in life and used only the Word of God. He stood by God even when people didn’t.  Thank you Reverend Angley, the work will continue.  Our prayers are with his family.
