Your Hour Is Now
by Ernest Angley
April 1996
The hour we live in is such an important one that the Lord told me about it over forty years ago in a great divine visitation. He said the time would come when people would go to the left or to the right, a time the power of God and the power of the enemy would be so mighty in the land that everyone would make a choice for one or the other; no one would be on the fence.
There will be many who profess to stand for the right, but just professing will not put them there. The way you live will determine whether you go to the right with God or to the left with the spirit of the Antichrist. If you don’t give over one hundred percent to God, to His Spirit, to His presence, His Word, His love, and His faith in this hour, you won’t make it with God. Your giving over must be a daily practice, a daily love-work of yielding minute by minute, hour by hour.
God is finished with those who are in and out with Him. He has come to the time of earnestly separating “Gideon’s three hundred from the ten thousand”; in other words, God is choosing those dedicated children of God who will win for Him. The obedient will be greatly blessed and helped by the Lord. Some will be shut-ins who never travel to the mission field, but they will be a great force through their dedication, prayers and fastings. Everyone who is in the family of God, living holy and righteously, will have a place to work for God, a means to help carry out His plan for evangelizing the nations in this last and final hour. If you are not living that way, you are not in the family of God.
Faith Victory That Overcomes the World
For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith (I John 5:4). If you are born of the Spirit of God, you can overcome the world.
In the seventeenth chapter of John, we read that Jesus prayed for His followers: I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil. They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth (John 17:15-17). How wonderful it is to be sanctified through God’s truth, delivered from evil with His keeping, sanctifying power! Through the blood of Jesus this is done, but you will have to please God, to commit no willful sin in order to have the power that preserves from the world, or you will not be preserved. You must want to be preserved, must feel the need of it.
Whether you live a victorious life or one of stumbling defeat depends on how you use the truth of Jesus through the faith of God. Remember: This is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith. You must use the faith of God; human faith is insufficient. But unless you are born of the Spirit, you will not be able to use God’s faith. Whosoever is born of God can use His faith, those who have become new creatures in Christ, free from sin, unholiness, unrighteousness and everything unclean. When you are born again, you are pure and clean as Heaven itself, living in such a way that your next step could be on the shores of Glory. For the Lord to use you, you must live that way daily.
Leaky Vessels
God will not use unholy, leaky vessels who carelessly allow His anointing to seep out; He will use special, sanctified-for-the-Master’s-use vessels. And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: And I will shew wonders in Heaven above, and signs in the earth beneath; blood, and fire, and vapour of smoke: The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before that great and notable day of the Lord come: And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved (Acts 2:17,19-21). God is pouring out His Spirit now, and a flawed vessel cannot hold that flow. Christians who let the Spirit leak out of their vessels will not be taken with the Lord at His coming. If the Spirit is leaking out, it isn’t doing the soul much good, just as a failure to digest food does not benefit the body.
A leaky-vessel Christian is one with spots, blemishes, wrinkles. If you can’t keep away from the contamination of the world, you are a leaky vessel. The Lord is not going to have patience with or put trust in the leaky vessels in this last hour; there is no need. He will lift His trust from people who continue to fail Him. He will let them be, saith the Lord.
It’s “Either/Or” in This Hour
The Lord is giving amazing revelations in this hour, dealing in a most definite way. God is now letting me see more of this hour He showed me over forty years ago. When He is about to close in on people, He closes in on the man of God, talking to him, showing him what He is going to do so that he will warn people. If they are honest hearted enough to accept the Gospel, they can be set free.
You are either God’s hope or God’s disappointment in this hour. You are either God’s love or God’s rejection, God’s light or the devil’s darkness, a blessing to the Lord’s Kingdom or a curse. You walk in the Spirit all the time or you walk in self. Pleasing God you are dedicated one hundred percent, or else pleasing the flesh you are disobedient to God. You are consecrated to the Master’s use or else defiled; humble in mind and spirit or else heady and high-minded. You have listening ears, ears anointed by God, ears clean and holy, or else you have ears closed to the Spirit and the voice of God. You have eyes clear, pure, clean and holy, or eyes of lust and longing for that which is not right.
Heaven has made it possible for you to have a choice. Going to the right or to the left is your decision. Not even God will make that decision for you. Had the Lord done nothing for the human race after He drove Adam and Eve out of the Garden of Eden, the generations following would have had no chance of getting right with the Lord, they would have had no choice. But in His grace and mercy God has given man a choice. Today you can choose whom you serve. The Lord is coming to that place, saith the Lord, that He will give those people who choose wrong what they deserve, and woe, woe to the inhabitants of the earth when that happens!
Accept the Lord completely, and He will accept you. Those nail-riven hands are reaching out to you, saith the Lord. Those nail-riven hands holding both your hands will keep all hell from coming against you. When your hands are totally in His, every demon working in unity couldn’t defeat you, saith the Lord, for the power of God cannot be defeated, the blood can never be defeated.
Some of you conquer self only momentarily. You then find yourselves in situations that self takes charge of once again. Self can’t be allowed to have control. It’s done now, over with, this time of vacillating if you are going on with God. This is the hour, the great, crucial hour for which God has waited so many years. To be on planet earth now is amazing! It’s the hour of the great outpouring of God’s Spirit: the hour is now here, the Lord said; it is now here.
God Is Pushing People out of His Way
If you do not qualify as a sanctified vessel, God will push you out of the way; He said He would. He has pushed many out of the way in years past. He pushed people out of the way in Noah’s day, and He went on with the family He could work with. God pushed Adam and Eve out of the way and sent the second Adam, Jesus, to make us a way of escape from sin through Calvary. Don’t think God won’t push you out of the way if you refuse to yield to His Son.
God pushed thousands and thousands of strong soldiers in Gideon’s day out of the way. Gideon thought he had a mighty army when he started out, 32,000 soldiers. Even when 22,000 turned back, he still had 10,000. But from that number, God chose just 300 to fight the Midianites who lay along in the valley like grasshoppers for multitude; and their camels were without number, as the sand by the sea side for multitude (Judges 7:12).
God was teaching Gideon to not rely on numbers but on faith in God, to not trust in a great army, but in the Spirit of God. God is not going to worry about you who are disobedient; He will push you aside. When He does that, the obedient will have to let you be out of their way. They can’t look at you, can’t worry and fret about you. When the Lord says to let people alone, others must step back and let them be.
Never stand in the way of God’s work. Jesus spoke of a people who wouldn’t go into the Kingdom, but stood at the door not letting others go in: Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye shut up the kingdom of Heaven against men: for ye neither go in yourselves, neither suffer ye them that are entering to go in (Matthew 23:13). We have come to the place there will be no more of that, saith the Lord, no more of people professing Christ, standing at the door, yet not going into the Kingdom and not letting others go in either. He is going to move people out of the way. It’s moving day, clean-up day, saith the Lord. You’re going to be in or out; you can make up your own mind.
You Are without Excuse
We live in the greatest hour since Adam and Eve left the Garden. This is the hour to be thrilled, overjoyed and bubbling with the things of God, the hour in which you can know your way. If you don’t, it’s your own fault, saith the Lord. If you’re having misgivings, if you are letting the devil bind you with fear, frustration, despair and oppression, it’s your own fault, saith the Lord. God has given you power to defeat the devil—divine blood to dwell inside of you—and He has many, many benefits residing in the blood to help you. You have everything you need, and thus saith the Lord: You are without excuse; you are without excuse. You may have excused yourself for different things you have done, excused yourself in your own mind while you were doing them, but the Lord wants me to notify you that there will be no excuses He will accept. Either with Him or without Him, you will go into eternity. You will be full of Him or empty. You will have His love or you will have that which the devil gives—and the devil doesn’t serve love.
When you profess Jesus Christ, when you are born of the Word and the Spirit through the blood, you have divinity on the inside, divine blood. You have been made a partaker of His divine nature. Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust (II Peter 1:4). Because you have the choice of accepting God’s exceeding great and precious promises and becoming a partaker of the divine nature, there will be no excuse for you who fail God, no excuse. The time of making alibis, the time of being weak, of excusing yourself is over, saith the Lord. He isn’t going to accept excuses. Whether He is going on with you or without you depends on your willingness to yield to Him in all love. It will be the willing hearts, the humble hearts of the love, peace, goodness, mercy, righteousness, holiness and purity of God that God will accept.
Now Is the Hour to Think Deep
Now is the hour to think deep, the Lord said. To think deep is to think in and through this great well called the Word of God. It’s a well that took a long time to dig—over 1500 years—and it’s mighty and deep.
Think on the Word; think through the Word until your thoughts, your life and your spirit match the Word at all times. Take on the personality of Jesus Christ. Through the Holy Spirit each one of you can be just like Him—sweet, gentle, with a tongue of love that sends out no contention, no strife.
The Word of God tells you what to think upon: Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things (Philippians 4:8). I say again, it’s time to think deep, think on the Word of God. When you think deep you don’t think about the forbidden fruit, don’t desire it. When you think deep you think of Heaven, of the blood spilled on Calvary, of the sufferings of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, of the Babe in the manger and all that He brought for you. You think of the promises of God, knowing this is your hour, God’s hour.
Think deep, deep about yourself and your place in Him. What does it mean to have salvation? Will you guard it with your life? What does it mean to you to be born of the Spirit of God? What does it mean to you to be so close to God that the Holy Ghost can come in and take over your vocal organs? Divinity uses your tongue and speaks in another language. What value do you put on such an experience? Will you let something the devil offers be more important? Like an undeveloped child will you reach out and take the devil’s “play prettys”? What will you do?
Cause Strife—and Lose Your Soul
In your home, be rid of strife. Say your words in gentleness, sweetness as you leave unsaved loved ones in the hands of God, giving them over to God to deal with. Don’t lose your soul by causing strife. If your companion is not saved, decide to not fuss with that one any longer. You can say what you are going to do in love—or not going to do—and let it go at that. You certainly are under no obligation to accept physical abuse; God does not expect you to be a punching bag. But you can take on the Spirit of Christ rather than the spirit of self in whatever situation you find yourself. Some of you who keep fussing in your homes will lose your souls, and that’s thus saith the Lord. The Lord is putting a hand on you. There must be peace, love, as much as you can bring it about.
In a fuss, no one wins. Maybe you thought you won because you out-shouted the other person, jumped up and down higher, but that doesn’t mean you won. You win only through Christ Jesus, not self.
Can two walk together, except they be agreed (Amos 3:3)? It’s time for married couples who both know the Lord to agree in His love, faith, tenderness and mercy. This is the final hour, and you must be without spot or wrinkle. You can’t wait for your mate to be rid of his or her spots. The Bible says one shall be taken, and the other shall be left (Luke 17:34). What a shock it would be for you to wake up and find your mate gone, taken in the Rapture.
The book Raptured, which the Lord helped me write, contains the story of a man who had been cruel to his wife, fussed at her, but one morning she wasn’t there to fuss at any longer. He searched for her in vain. The Lord had taken her in the Rapture and left him behind.
If your wife, if your husband doesn’t get rid of all spots and wrinkles, it won’t keep you from going with Jesus when the Rapture takes place, saith the Lord—as long as you are free of the spots and wrinkles, you will go. Jesus is coming after a Church not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish (Ephesians 5:27).
Reject the Forbidden Fruit
When the devil tempts you to take one more look at the forbidden fruit, you had better die before you make that trip. You may think you will just look and not eat, but that one more look can seal your doom as far as God is concerned.
God has warned and warned about the forbidden fruit, yet some are forever fascinated by it. It is amazing to think of the hours spent trying to get some people to stay away from the forbidden tree, and God doesn’t want that to go on and on. The hour has come, saith the Lord, that He wants people who will reach out for the lost of the world in this final hour, who will reach out to win those on whom He has laid a hand and dealt with. He is giving them hope and they don’t even know where it is coming from. They have a feeling, saith the Lord, that hope is on the way for them. The reality of that hope must reach them, that power. The Word must get there, saith the Lord, at any cost.
Taking on the Spirit of the man called Jesus, we must decide that we have nothing less to offer Him than our lives and that we will never take ourselves out of His hands from this moment on. When you stand and look at the forbidden fruit, you take your life out of the hands of God. How can the Lord use you, how can He bless you when you are straying? Such a mind, such thoughts block Him out.
The Lord has been too good to you for you not to give this hour to the Lord, not to sacrifice anything—even to your very life—for His name’s sake.
Greater Power in This Hour
The Early Church had exactly what the Lord is giving you in this message. This is not a new doctrine; this is what Jesus brought, His Gospel. When the Early Church in the beginning really accepted Calvary, when they accepted the whole Jesus and His command to go to the Upper Room and be filled with the Holy Ghost, nothing could stop them. The power of God is going to be greater, saith the Lord, in this final hour. God will rain His power down in an unbelievable way, more power than was in the beginning of the Church. But you who are not one hundred percent right with God will not be able to use His power. As far as you are concerned, His power is wasted, your life for God is wasted.
What Do You Have without Jesus
What will you have when you come to the end of the journey? What will you have if you find yourself in the Tribulation Period? What will you have if you die between now and the Rapture, die without the Lord? What will you have for all eternity without Jesus?
The Lord has been very merciful to some of you; loved ones have cried and fasted over you. You’ve robbed them of sleep, of rest because you turned away from God, doing things you had no business doing. Look at the time misspent. What good did your godless actions do you? Decide now that your contemptible treatment of God is over.
Flee for Your Life
God told Lot’s family to not look back: Escape for thy life; look not behind thee, But his (Lot’s) wife looked back from behind him, and she became a pillar of salt (Genesis 19:17,26). If you look back now to the sins of the world, you may very well seal your fate. Lot’s wife did. She looked back and was turned into a pillar of salt. Look back now, saith the Lord, and His Spirit will lift from you. Look back now, and your walk with God is over and done. Look back now, and the Lord will let you alone just like He let Lot’s wife alone.
The devil will try to tell some of you that looking back is harmless, that you wouldn’t really do anything wrong. Just remember, one look turned a woman into a pillar of salt; one look cost her life. Even after an angel of God pulled her out of Sodom, she looked back. When she started to look back, the angel’s hand let go. God was finished. Turn her loose.
How terrible to have the Lord tell an angel pulling you out of destruction’s path to turn you loose; He has finished with you! God means business in this hour just as He did when He brought Lot’s family out of Sodom. And Abraham gat up early in the morning to the place where he stood before the Lord: And he looked toward Sodom and Gomorrah, and toward all the land of the plain, and beheld, and, lo, the smoke of the country went up as the smoke of a furnace(Genesis 19:27,28).
Lot’s family is a type of the Bride fleeing the Tribulation Period, leaving just before disaster hits. Escaping the Great Tribulation at the last moment, the Bride will be caught out. It will be close—the very moment she leaves, the Jews seven remaining years of their dispensation will begin. The Antichrist will be prepared; he will have everything organized and ready to set up his kingdom. At first the world church will rule along with him, be a part of his organization. But he soon will find a way to be rid of her.
O generation of vipers, who hath warned you to flee from the wrath to come (Luke 3:7)? Flee the wrath of God through the holiness of God, through the righteousness of God. Fleeing on any other path but the path of righteousness will lead you straight to the judgments of God. Only the highway of holiness has none of His wrath. You are either on that road or not. If you are not on the road of righteousness, you are moving down the pathway of God’s wrath and judgment. Anyone on that road had better turn back while there’s yet time, before he is eternally damned.
God Is Giving Final Warnings
If you are not really born of the Spirit of God, if all you have is a profession of faith, you belong to the world church. People are sitting in houses of God all over the world who belong to the world church, sitting right beside members of the Church of Jesus Christ. For many are called, but few are chosen (Matthew 22:14). According to the population, only a few will be saved. The majority of people today, saith the Lord, belong to the world church and not His Church.
You don’t become a part of His Church by joining a body of people, by signing a card. Only when you come to Jesus through the blood and become His very own are you a member of the body of Christ. Continuing to live pure and clean is the only way you can stay a member. If you don’t live pure, clean and holy, you are outside the body of Christ. There can be no sin in the body of Christ. Outside the body of Christ is damnation.
The Lord is giving final warnings now, and if you don’t go with God all the way, you will never go all the way. You have the opportunity to take Jesus, to never break your covenant with God. Some have broken their covenant with God again and again, saith the Lord, and it is over, done with. The hour is too short, too late.
Lord, Help Us Reach the Lost
The sun is setting fast, and we don’t have the harvest in. All Heaven’s working. Why shouldn’t the inhabitants of the earth join in? It’s their own who need to be saved, delivered. A people who won’t help their own are low and worthless to God.
Millions and millions of people have not had a chance at the Gospel, people the Lord wants to reach with His nail-riven hands and make into beautiful, wonderful holy vessels. Don’t you cry for them? Don’t you long to see them come to the Lord? Don’t you wake all hours of the night and pray, “God give us the lost”?
Some Christians have no vision of winning souls for the Lord, and they criticize those who do. Jesus gave us the great commission: Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned (Mark 16:15,16). These words of Jesus should make you want to take the Gospel to the lost at any cost.
I don’t want to see one person damned, much less multitudes. When you have the Spirit of the living God in your heart, it means that the cry of Calvary and the tears of Calvary will be there, too. Night and day you are crying for the lost: Oh, God, don’t let them go to hell! Oh God, help us get to them. Don’t let them die lost! God, help me to do more, to fast more, pray more, live in your Word more. Help me, Lord! Supply my needs and above so I can give more and more to win the lost. I know, Lord, we’re soon going home, the harvest will end when we’re taken out of here in the Rapture. Help us reach the lost before that time, oh God!
Thus Saith the Lord
Yea, saith the Spirit of the Lord: I am moving like I have never moved before, and I am searching every heart, and I’m searching every life, and I’m looking upon all disobedience. I’m looking upon every particle of sin that I can find in any life. I must have you in my perfection of grace and love. You must be clean; you must be a clean vessel for me to use. And I will not use you unless you are pure and clean. I have been patient with you. I have been longsuffering with you, but I won’t look upon you with my pity. If you reject me now, you reject me. If you go your paths like you have gone in the past, I won’t care anymore. I will let you be. My Spirit has talked to you and tried to talk to you again and again, and you have stopped up your ears and did what you wanted to do—no more if you want to go with me, no more if you want to live in my Heaven, no more if you want to have Jesus’ victory, no more if you want my Spirit to strive with you. I will turn to the heathen, and I will bring them in by the multitudes—with you or without you. The disobedient will not hinder me. I am Lord God Almighty, and my voice is going forth, and I mean exactly what I am saying. And I have warned my servant ahead of time to warn you. And I am speaking to you, telling you that you have come to the end of your disobediences, the end of all sin. You’ve come to the end of going to look at the forbidden fruit. It’s all over if you want to go with me and be a part of this power, saith the Lord.
Cry Out to God
It’s a time of repentance, a time of crying to God, of not looking at what others are doing. Look at your soul the way God is looking at it. Know that the Lord is examining you with the searchlight of truth. Dedicate and rededicate yourself to God; do His holy will. The Lord is coming to the end of the journey with us.
Cry unto the Lord in the fear of God; yield to the Holy Spirit. Make sure you have His divine favor. Always when Israel cried and repented, God heard. He hears every cry, feels every heartbeat, and He deals with love, love, love. Oh the blood of Jesus that washes away all your sins—Lord we thank you for the blood! We’re glad you are searching our hearts. Search us oh Lord, in the name of Jesus and let us know if you find anything against us. Lord, we want to know. Move and cleanse us, give us Jesus victory. Jesus victory is blessed assurance. Blessed be the name of the Lord! Oh Lord, help people to yield everything to you today in the holy name of Jesus. Make us like Jesus. We want to have serving hands like He had when He was here. Oh Lord, open up the fountains of the deep within us so we will weep before you. Lord, soften every heart today in the holy name of Jesus. We have come into arms of love and grace while there is yet time. Lord we’re fleeing all the sins of the flesh, running hard after thee in the holy name of Jesus. Come Holy Spirit and bless and help and heal us soul, mind and body. Give heavenly strength in the name of Jesus.
Oh Jesus we love you. We humble ourselves in thy presence. Blessed be the name of the Lord. Lord, we can’t live without you. We have to have you. Help us all to make a complete surrender to thy will. Not our will, but thine be done. Oh Lord, your power is moving today. Thank you Lord for all your patience and love. Thank you for reaching out to us. Let it be said that each one of us yielded totally, completely for all time to your divine will. In the name of Jesus, come Holy Spirit and possess each clean vessel for your honor and glory. Come Holy Spirit in the name of the Lord.
Yield to His great love, to His precious Word, to the power of His Spirit. Bless the Lord oh my soul, and all that is within me, bless His holy name. His benefits are without number. You will either go with God into the mighty outpouring of all of His greatness or you will be left behind. The Lord is sending forth His Gospel to the nations through the Bride. Victory or defeat, the power of God or the power of the devil: everyone will make a choice. Your hour is now—what will your answer be to God today?
