Decide that you will conquer fear in this final hour. Decide that you will never let it have dominion over you or rule your life in any way. Why let fear rob you of God’s best? Why let it destroy God’s blessings in your life or cause sickness or calamity to come upon you?

Job had a fear of losing his family and the material things God had given him, and that sad day came. He said, The thing which I greatly feared is come upon me, and that which I was afraid of is come unto me (Job 3:25). The devil works through fear, but God works through faith. The devil robs through fear, but the Lord delivers through faith. The devil destroys through fear; but the Lord edifies through faith.

And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). If the human race were to combine all their understanding, they still could never comprehend the peace of God. His peace shall keep your heart and mind through Jesus, the Word made flesh. Thus saith the Lord, if your life is not directed, ruled by love, it will be ruled by fear, saith the Lord. You cannot allow fear to take hold.

The Early Church conquered fear; they did not let fear conquer them. If they had not decided in their hearts and minds who Jesus really was and recognized all the greatness of Him, fear would have swallowed them up. However, those disciples knew that all Jesus said was true, and they knew they could trust His words with their very lives because Jesus was the Son of God.

The Early Church used Christ’s faith to destroy fear just as they had seen Jesus do. The Bible tells us of a miracle that happened one night out on a stormy sea. Jesus’ disciples were on their boat, and it was being tossed about by the waves. They were in trouble when suddenly, they saw Jesus walking on the water toward them; and they cried out in fear. But straightway Jesus spake unto them, saying, Be of good cheer; it is I; be not afraid. And Peter answered him and said, Lord, if it be thou, bid me come unto thee on the water. And he said, Come (Matthew 14:27–29).

When Jesus identified Himself and said, “Be not afraid,” the fear in the hearts of the disciples was destroyed to the extent that Peter stepped right out onto the water and started walking. However, Peter didn’t continue to use the faith of Jesus, so fear conquered him; and he began to sink. And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt (Matthew 14:31)? Jesus hates the kind of fear the devil sends. He despises it.

Perfect Love Casts Out Fear

For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind (II Timothy 1:7). The spirit of fear comes from the devil. Many experiences and blessings come to you from the Lord, but He never gives you fear. God has given you power over fear through His love. There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear (I John 4:18). God’s perfect love casts out fear. The Early Church disciples knew what it was like to have fear cast out through God’s perfect love.

Don’t be deceived about fear and think it is only in the mind. Fear is also in the soul of a person who has not found Jesus and accepted His salvation. The mind is gullible and changeable, so fear can instantly overwhelm the mind. That is why no fear must be allowed to lodge there, and that is why the perfect love of God is stored in the reservoir of the soul for the mind to use. As long as the mind is supplied with that which comes from a soul filled with God’s love, it will not be destroyed. As the mind yields, the Holy Spirit bridges the gulf between the mind and the soul and flows God’s love into the mind.

The flow of God’s love destroys fear. When you are born again, you don’t have to pray for God to help you with fear because you have the love of God in your soul to draw on. Without the love of God in your soul, you could not be saved. Peace fills your soul because Jesus is there; and He is to be the peace, joy and love of your life.

Many people don’t understand how to use the peace of God in their souls. They think they are victims of fear, and they are if they have fear in their soul rather than God’s love. With the love of God in your soul, you can be delivered from fear. It will cleanse your soul just like taking a bath when you are dirty cleanses your body. At times, you may feel like you are so dirty that you can never be clean; but a good bath takes care of that. In the same way, your feelings can also make you think you can never be free from fear; but the love-flow from the soul can cleanse the mind because there is no fear in God’s love.

Fear has torment. The Lord did not come to torment you but to give you peace. He that feareth is not made perfect in love (I John 4:18). If fear dominates your soul, you are not made perfect in God’s love. Remember that fear will come to your mind, but that does not mean you’re not saved. No one can escape fear at all times; but when Jesus is in your soul, you have the resources and the strength from Heaven to conquer that fear.

What Is in Your Mind?

There is no limit to the capacity of a soul; it can hold the whole Godhead, all the promises of God and all the joy of the Lord. The soul came from God, so it is a part of God; and what it can hold is limitless. The mind, however, is limited; so it can be frightened and tortured with fear.

When you are tortured in your mind, look into the soul. If someone were to ask you what is in your soul, what would you say? Also, face yourself honestly, and ask yourself what is really in your mind. What do you have there?

You may say you have salvation, but are you really saved? You may say, “Yes, I am”; but are you really walking with God? You may say, “Yes, I’m walking with God”; but do you have the real Bible Holy Ghost? You may say, “Yes, I have the real Bible Holy Ghost”; but do you really believe all the Bible? Again, you may say, “Yes”; but do you believe all the promises of God? You may say, “Yes, I believe all the promises of God.” Well, then all the power and all the deliverance you need are in your soul; you only have to yield to them. When you do that, you accept the Word—what God has said—and all the promises He has given to you. The only way you can yield to God is through His Word.

Reason with the Lord

Many people don’t know how to yield to God; and they try to yield in ways that don’t work—through thoughts and the human spirit. They try to yield in every way except through the Word of God. Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD (Isaiah 1:18). God never reasons outside His Word; so if you want to reason with God, you have to reason with Him through the Word.

When you met God for your salvation, you met Him through the Word. Without the Word of God, there would be no salvation and no deliverance from sin. It is all in the Word.

When you have fear, the enemy tries to make you feel condemned; but having fear is normal. The thing you have to do is never let that fear become bondage and destroy your will to yield to what is in your soul. That bondage of fear cuts you off from the Holy Spirit.

You must yield to the Holy Spirit to bridge the gulf between your soul and your mind because the soul feeds the mind. God’s love overcomes any fear in your soul and feeds your mind through the Holy Spirit. The love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us (Romans 5:5). The Holy Spirit does not only shed abroad the love of God in your soul. When you yield to Him, He bridges the gulf between your mind and your soul; and a flow of His love bathes your mind.

Love Can Heal

Love can heal. A child may become bruised while playing, but the mother can kiss away the pain with her great love. When I was a child, my mother healed me with love many times when I was in pain or when my spirit was crushed; but I had to yield to her voice, her touch and her embrace. Then all the hurt was erased out of my mind. When there is no longer any hurt in your mind, you don’t feel it much in your body either. Mama would say, “Honey, you’re going to be all right.” She never lied to me, so I knew I would be all right.

Human love can take away depression and oppression if you yield to it; however, divine love can do wonders, but you must yield to love before it can affect you. The Holy Spirit lives within; but when a child of God blocks God’s love in the soul by not yielding to the Spirit and letting Him flow that love from the soul into the mind, that person is in great bondage. Bondage isn’t the will of God. Follow the example of the Psalmist and put your trust in God. In God have I put my trust: I will not be afraid what man can do unto me (Psalm 56:11). The real you who will live for eternity must put all trust in God.

Jesus said, Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid (John 14:27). Jesus didn’t say not to let your mind be troubled because He knew minds would be troubled. He said not to let your heart—your soul—be troubled.

Christ Lives Within

Where will you go to get your help in those times when your mind is troubled? The Bible says, My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth (Psalm 121:2). Where is the Lord in your life? Does He live on the inside of you? Is He in your soul? The Bible declares He is if you have accepted Him into your heart. Paul wrote, I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me (Galatians 2:20). Don’t try to live the Jesus life; just let Jesus into your heart, and He will live His life through you when you yield and give yourself over to Him. That is divine living, and it is for all those who have been made partakers of God’s grace and divinity.

Hide His Promise in Your Heart

Jesus said, Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you (John 14:1,2). Hide that promise in your heart, your very soul, so the devil can’t erase it by bringing fear. He’ll tell you that you could never have a mansion in Heaven.

The devil uses fear to separate your mind from the love of God in every way he can. If you listen to him and believe him, fear will take you over; but if you keep your soul supplied with the things of God, you will have plenty to draw on. There will never be any scarcity. When your mind is under attack from the enemy, it will be protected by the power of the Holy Spirit with the flow from the soul. Then you will have peace of mind and joy in the valley.

Nothing Can Separate You from God’s Love

Through the Holy Ghost, Paul tells us wonderful things. Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter. Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord (Romans 8:35–39). Paul was persuaded that nothing could separate him from the love of God which was in Christ Jesus.

The Early Church disciples lived in the shadow of death. They didn’t know from one day to the next, or even from one moment to the next, whether or not they would be killed. The tremendous battles of the mind they must have had would have defeated them if they had not had the divine resource within them to not only conquer but to more than conquer. They were crushed and trampled under by the world. Paul said, For thy [Christ’s] sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter (Romans 8:36). How did they survive?—through Him, Jesus, who loved them.

Your mind can play tricks on you and tell you that you are not loved, but Jesus loved even sinners so much that He died to bring them into God’s Kingdom. Your soul knows you are loved with Heaven’s love.

Paul Kept the Faith

The Early Church disciples faced persecution, tribulation and even death. The secret of their overcoming power was Jesus, and Paul learned that secret well. At the end of his journey he was able to say to Timothy, I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith (II Timothy 4:6,7). Paul was ready to die for the sake of Christ because he had kept the faith of God in his soul.

Paul did have mind battles, and I say again that those are typical of the human mind; however, when the soul contains the plan and the power of God, the mind can instantly be delivered from frustration, fear and despair. God’s children have experienced that deliverance again and again. Like Paul, we must keep the faith. You may feel as if you are dying deaths in your mind; but as a child of God, you can look to the Lord and ask for His help. In the moment that you yield to the Holy Spirit, a divine flow from your soul will cleanse your mind.

Let Not the Sun Go Down on Your Wrath

You have plenty of God’s peace stored in the reservoir of your soul when you are born again, and you cannot afford to contaminate that peace. If any bitterness comes to your mind, let the love of God flow and cleanse your mind of all bitterness and grudges. Yield to the Spirit of God, not to people and not to yourself; and remember that as you do that, the Spirit will flow all the love of God you need.

A child of God cannot carry grudges in his or her soul because the soul is God’s territory. It is holy ground, and it is to be as holy as the Lord Himself because the Lord lives there. He has made it holy, pure and clean; so if there is any jealousy or clamor in your soul, those things won’t mix with God’s love. God and the devil are at war with one another.

The Bible says, Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath (Ephesians 4:26). How can you get wrath out of your mind? You must draw on the keeping power of the Lord in your soul. Instead of yielding to anger, yield to the peace of God in your soul. Yield to the Word and to the Holy Spirit so He can flow the things of God you need from your soul to your mind.

When you carry wrong thoughts in your mind day after day, they can sooner or later drop into your soul and force out the Spirit of God. When you feed any resentment in your mind for an extended period of time, it can very easily make its way into your soul. Bitterness, jealousy, envy, strife may enter your mind; but you must get them out before they drop into your soul and rob you of your salvation.

When the Spirit of God leaves you, demons will move in to take over. They can’t get into your soul as long as the Spirit of God is there; so they wait for their opportunity, hoping that wrong thoughts will cause God’s Spirit to lift.

Vengeance Is the Lord’s

Regardless of what anyone does to you or how badly you have been mistreated, you can’t let it affect your relationship with God. It is truly a trick of the devil for you to lose your soul because of the cruelty of others. Carrying a grudge will not even the score with anyone; it will just destroy you. Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord. Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good (Romans 12:19,21). Your mind wants vengeance, but your soul must cry that vengeance is the Lord’s. That is the right spirit to have.

Having bitterness and a desire for revenge are wrong. Wanting to get even or do something worse is not the Spirit of the Lord. The Bible says, As ye would that men should do to you, do ye also to them likewise (Luke 6:31). Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake. Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you (Matthew 5:11,12).

God is the one you must let handle your enemies. If He were not merciful, we all would have been destroyed long ago; but God is not a man, and He is longsuffering toward us. When people treat you in a way you don’t deserve, look to God’s Son and His nail-riven hands. Did He deserve such cruelty?—of course not. But in His dying moments, Jesus said, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do (Luke 23:34).

Jesus Suffered So Much

Jesus suffered because of you and me. He took our sins and sicknesses upon Himself in the Garden of Gethsemane, and that is why He was in such great agony. That is why He cried, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me (Matthew 26:39).

No one will ever know the torment Jesus endured in the Garden that night, and then He carried our sins and sicknesses to Calvary. He suffered so we could have redemption for our souls and health for our bodies. He seeks to be real to us, so He can prepare us to take His message to those in the night. He wants us to bring the lost out of the darkness and into His light of righteousness and holiness.

Jesus didn’t suffer for Heaven’s sake but for yours. He didn’t die for Heaven’s sake; He died for yours. He wore the crown of thorns not for Himself but for you. He was nailed to the Cross, crucified and died for you.

Jesus was so tortured in His mind during His last night in the Garden of Gethsemane, and He needed the support of His disciples; but they fled. The demons hammered His mind so relentlessly that He cried, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me (Mark 15:34)? Christ’s sweat fell as drops of blood; and in His mind, He felt so forsaken in that hour as He was bearing the sins of the world. His mind was saying, “God has turned His back on you”; however in His soul, He knew the Father had not forsaken Him.

Let the sacrifice of Jesus be real to you. Yield to His tender, loving Spirit and to His sacrificial death, and let the Holy Spirit take over and flow the power of the Word into your mind to cleanse it. Then you will no longer want vengeance. Instead, you will pray for your enemies saying, “God, save them!” Like Stephen, you will say, Lord, lay not this sin to their charge (Acts 7:60). Stephen forgave his murderers with his dying breath.

Of Whom Shall You Be Afraid?

Let nothing separate you from the love of God. Hide the Word of God in your heart and keep it there. So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me (Hebrews 13:6). The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid (Psalm 27:1)? The Lord is your light, your salvation, your deliverance and your strength. He is your shield, buckler, high tower and spiritual armor.

Though an host should encamp against me, my heart shall not fear (Psalm 27:3). The natural mind would fear seeing an army coming against it, but the heart in which the Lord dwells will not keep that fear. Again and again when the enemy attacks, fear will enter the mind; but remember from whence your help comes—it comes from the Lord.

Take On the Mind of Christ

Yield to the Holy Spirit. He is your helper, your guide and your teacher. He bridges the gulf between your soul and mind just as Jesus bridges the gulf between God and mankind. How beautifully it is done! The Holy Spirit is there to give you that flow of God’s greatness at any time.

Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus (Philippians 2:5). If you take on the mind of Christ which is offered to you, you will not constantly live with fear. In those times when fear does attack, you will know what conquers that fear. You will know how to get rid of that darkness and yield to the perfect light of God and to the arm of the Almighty. You will be tuned in to Heaven, and you will receive everything you need as the Holy Spirit flows it to you.

Rivers of Living Water

Read again the words of the Psalmist: The LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid (Psalm 27:1)? Then he went on to say, Though war should rise against me, in this will I be confident (Psalm 27:3). The Psalmist wrote those words at a time when he wasn’t battling fear in his mind, and the Word flowed freely. Embrace the Word and receive the Holy Spirit baptism. Then rivers of living waters will flow in your soul and spring up into life everlasting just as the Lord said they would. He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water. (But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.) (John 7:38,39).

Keep the words that Jesus spoke to the Samaritan woman by the well in John 4 in your soul: Whosoever drinketh of this water [the water in the well] shall thirst again: But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life (John 4:13,14). Through the Holy Spirit, there will be no scarcity for you of the life of God or of His love, peace and healing balm.

Noah Conquered Fear

Think of the fear Noah and his family had to conquer—fear for loved ones, misgivings about leaving everyone behind and fear of what loomed ahead. They were ridiculed and called fanatics, so they had to have God in their hearts and yield to His voice. They couldn’t allow themselves to yield to people. The power of God purged them of anything unlike Him and helped them conquer fear. As they reached out to accept from the Lord, He flowed His greatness into their minds. Their fear had to be conquered through the faith of God.

Noah and his family had many trials and disappointments. Some days, everything seemed to go wrong. The ark wasn’t built in Glory; it was built on Earth, a place where things can’t always be carried through as planned. God had told Noah to build the ark; and when you obey God, the devil sends his demons after you to hinder you in every way they can. Their unrelenting pressure causes many to back away from God’s will.

The mind says you are in trouble, but the soul says you are more than a conqueror; so you have nothing to fear or worry about. Why worry and have fear? Let your soul talk to your mind. Let the voice of your soul that is filled with the grace and power of God shout, “Victory, victory ahead!” Your mind may not feel victorious; but we are to walk by faith, not by feelings.

The Miracle Rod

Moses didn’t always feel like he was winning. Imagine how he must have felt the first time he stood before Pharaoh on behalf of his people. He didn’t really want to be the one to lead Israel out of 400 years of bondage, but his rod gave him some security. God had demonstrated to Moses what miracles He could perform through that rod.

The Lord had told Moses, “Cast your rod on the ground.” And he cast it on the ground, and it became a serpent; and Moses fled from before it. And the LORD said unto Moses, Put forth thine hand, and take it by the tail. And he put forth his hand, and caught it, and it became a rod in his hand (Exodus 4:3,4).

When Moses stood before Pharaoh, he remembered the miracle of the rod; so he cast down his rod and watched it turn into a snake. Then all of a sudden, Pharaoh’s magicians stepped forth and threw down their rods; and their rods turned into serpents too.

Moses must have trembled and thought he had misunderstood God. He probably wished he were anywhere else but where he was at that time. Then the serpent of Moses opened wide its jaws and swallowed up the serpents of the Egyptians. When Moses picked that serpent up, it became a rod again.

The truth of God will swallow that which belongs to the devil. It was the Word, the truth in action; and when that truth went into action, all the fear left Moses’ heart. The truth spread into his mind and drove out the fear. Then with all faith he could say, “The Lord is with me! The Lord loves me!” God’s love destroys fear.

Elijah Fled in Fear

Elijah was a great man of God, and it is hard to imagine him being afraid of anything. He had cut off the heads of 450 prophets of Baal. All the faith, courage and power he needed abounded in his soul; and he had proved it. He knew how to call down fire from Heaven and shut up the heavens; and anyone who has faith like that has it in his soul.

Then Elijah heard that Jezebel wanted to take his life. Elijah’s mind immediately jumped to the devilish Jezebel, and he knew her capabilities for doing evil were unlimited. She was driven by a fire and brimstone rage of revenge, and she wanted him dead. Elijah could have said, “Bring her to me! The same sword that cut off the heads of the prophets of Baal will cut off hers.” But instead, he let fear control his mind.

Elijah didn’t wait for that divine flow of help from his soul, and he fled. He was so afraid that he wanted to die; and he told the Lord, It is enough; now, O LORD, take away my life; for I am not better than my fathers (I Kings 19:4).

Elijah had been through a great ordeal in killing all those prophets of Baal, and his exhausted mind was not functioning right. He thought no one but him cared for the Lord, and he was ready to go to Heaven because he was too frightened to stay on Earth; but the Lord let him know that there were others left who had not turned to idol gods. Yet I have left me seven thousand in Israel, all the knees which have not bowed unto Baal, and every mouth which hath not kissed him (I Kings 19:18). The Lord understood what Elijah was going through, and He had pity on him and strengthened him.

If you have faith in your soul, you may run from trouble for a little bit at times; but the Lord will be right there when you stop running. Your spirit will tell you that you should get some rest and tomorrow will be a new day, and how many times has the Lord strengthened you and renewed your courage after you had fallen asleep? The Lord sent help while you were sleeping, and the Holy Spirit used what was in your soul to work for you. He flowed those things into your mind to rest and strengthen it. It might have even been an angel of the Lord that came to strengthen you. Then you woke up refreshed and thinking about how good it was to be alive.

The Lord makes us a new day every morning; He never gives us a used one. Let the Holy Spirit work out your problems while you are asleep. Then rise up in the morning expecting to go in the power of the Spirit. Expect to walk in the direction of the Holy Ghost’s plain paths for you; He takes away fear.

God Was in Daniel’s Soul

Do you think Daniel was afraid in the den of lions? Could a person be thrown into a den of lions and not be afraid? Just one lion would be enough to terrify anyone. When fear reaches out for you and you forget God’s love and yield to that fear, your mind talks fast saying, “You’re going to be eaten and destroyed!” But the promise of God must be in your soul. God was in Daniel’s soul; so he settled down because God reached over and got his attention, and He gave the lions lockjaw. They couldn’t even open their mouths.

You have to become acquainted with what is really going on in your mind. Some people don’t understand their minds or their souls. Your human eyes can’t see your soul, but God will let you see what is in your soul when you look through His eyes.

Look Inside for the Miracle

The three Hebrew boys rejoiced in the fiery furnace with Jesus. What a wonderful experience that must have been! But what do you think went through their minds as the furnace was being heated seven times hotter than ever before? Even the normal temperature of the furnace would have been hot enough to have roasted them to a crisp.

The Hebrew boys reached into their souls to find what they needed. Our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of thine hand, O king. But if not, be it known unto thee, O king, that we will not serve thy gods, nor worship the golden image which thou hast set up (Daniel 3:17,18). They wouldn’t bow to the idol god. The faith in their souls told them that if God wanted to save them, He would. Their minds were made up, and they were determined to let God be in control.

When you are suffering and you feel the fire of the furnace, the devil can bring fear to your mind. If you want the miracle or deliverance you need, you have to look inside to your soul because the miracle is on the inside. Not until the three Hebrew boys looked inside did they receive their miracle of deliverance.

Many people won’t look inside for their miracle. When they start to feel fear, they back away. Sometimes, it takes just a few minutes to get back to the door that leads to the miracle while at other times, it could take ten years or more. Every person is different. Receiving your miracle depends on how much you yield to the Word and give over to God’s promises.

When the Hebrew boys first looked into the furnace, they saw only the solid, blazing flame. I’m sure their minds told them that their hair would probably be gone in an instant, but they still yielded completely to God. They decided at that moment, “Lord, here we come no matter what! Open those pearly gates.” Then they stepped right into the middle of a miracle. Not until after the Hebrew boys had been thrown in did they see Jesus in the furnace, so they were acting in pure faith.

Some of you walk by feelings instead of faith. When you’re in a fiery furnace, you say, “Lord, if you’re in there, I’ll come in too. Identify yourself, Lord! Let me see you with my eyes.” Only if He says, “Yes, Child, I’m in here,” and then comes out to pull you in, will you go.

The ropes that tied the Hebrew boys’ hands were burned up. Those ropes didn’t belong to God but to the devil’s crowd, and those were the only things destroyed in the fiery furnace. With the faith of God in your heart and mind, you can stand the heat. The three Hebrew boys had that faith, and then they saw Jesus. Jesus is in every miracle. Oh, what faith God has given us!

Strengthened According to His Glorious Power

Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness (Isaiah 41:10). God is speaking to you through that dear, old prophet Isaiah. God will hold you up with His mighty, miraculous right hand of righteousness. As He does, you will be strengthened with all might, according to his glorious power (Colossians 1:11). That is the power and faith that conquer fear.

If you don’t let the power of God work in your heart and mind, fear will conquer you; and you will be helpless to do the will and work of God. That fear will rob you of being a testimony for the Lord; and His testimonies are those of His love and deliverance, not of bondage. His love, remember, will cast out fear.

For the joy of the LORD is your strength (Nehemiah 8:10). God’s love and joy destroy fear; but when you are afraid, the joy of the Lord will not be bubbling in your mind. Fear wipes out joy, but God’s perfect love wipes out fear. When the Word is your love, you will be an overcomer.

Jesus said, Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you (Luke 10:19). Nothing can destroy your soul—the real, eternal you that will live for eternity. Your body is made of clay; and one day, it will go back to the dust of the Earth in exchange for a glorified body. But nothing can hurt the eternal you.

Walk by Faith

Why worry when the Lord is with you? Jesus came to conquer the enemy for you; and when you walk by faith, fear is conquered and destroyed. For we walk by faith, not by sight (II Corinthians 5:7). The faith of God destroys fear. Divine faith has destroyed fear down through the ages, and it is still destroying it today.

If you walk by sight, you are in trouble. And Moses said unto the people, Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the LORD (Exodus 14:13). When the Israelites were standing on the bank of the Red Sea, they had to become quiet and use faith. If they had not obeyed, they would not have seen the salvation of the Lord.

The Lord used what He had put into the souls of the people to erase the fear from their minds. They had been in slavery for 400 years, and He loved them so much. The people finally decided, “God loves us, and He won’t let us perish now. He didn’t bring us here to kill us but to deliver us. He is the way-maker, and He has promised to make a way. They were then full of faith, and they stood still. The Word went into operation, and it flowed the truth from their souls into their minds and destroyed all fear.

How do I know they had faith?—because when the Red Sea separated and the Israelites were told to move, they moved. The water rolled back and banked up on each side, to the left and to the right like gigantic walls. The water towered over them as they used their faith and walked through the sea on dry ground. It is believed that the crossing they made through the Red Sea was twelve miles.

Pharaoh’s army watched that great multitude of people walking through the sea with the water heaped up high; and they decided that if Israel could cross, they could too. If the water stayed back for those slaves, it would certainly stay back for them. The water wouldn’t dare close in on Pharaoh’s army!

Pharaoh’s army followed the Israelites into the sea, but they were walking by their human sight alone. When they were in the middle of the Red Sea, they saw the people step out on the other side in faith. As the last Israelite reached the opposite shore, Pharaoh’s army was left there with no faith; and they cried, Let us flee from the face of Israel (Exodus 14:25). Terror suddenly crowded out everything in their minds but thoughts of escaping from that frightening place. So much fear paralyzed those soldiers that even those who knew how to swim couldn’t do it, and God drowned them all. Walking that path without the faith of God would be a horrifying experience, and it was for the Egyptians who followed the Israelites into the sea.

The events at the parting of the Red Sea paint a vivid picture of fear versus faith. Fear shouts that you will never make it, but faith tells you, “This is God’s way. He has never failed one of His children yet, and He won’t start with you. You are going to make it.”

Living by Faith

Whose side are you on? The Bible says, Choose you this day whom ye will serve…but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD (Joshua 24:15). For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith (Romans 1:17).

Living by faith is the only kind of living that is worthwhile. How do you live that way? Revelation tells us, They [the saints of God] overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death (Revelation 12:11). They overcame the enemy by the power in the blood of Jesus; and by that same power, you can overcome. Those who love God put the Word of God into their testimonies, and they yield to the Lord.

If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you (John 15:7). Your mind says that is not so, but the promise of God in your soul agrees with the Word of God. This is the promise you must have hidden in your heart: If you abide in the Lord and He abides in you, you are in Him and He is in you. Then you can ask what you will, and it shall be done.

Check Your Soul

And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work (II Corinthians 9:8). Your soul agrees with that scripture; but your mind says, “The Lord isn’t going to do that. It isn’t going to happen, so there is no need to get your hopes up.”

You need to take your soul to the thirteenth chapter of I Corinthians and bathe it in that love chapter. Stir up your soul to make sure all the love in that chapter is flowing there. If it isn’t, put in more love until it is. Then if any doubt or fear lingers regarding a miracle, a healing or anything else you need, go to the eleventh chapter of Hebrews, the faith chapter. Take all of it into not just your mind but also your soul. Your mind cannot absorb all that glorious chapter and hold it, but your soul can. You must check your soul with the gauge of the Word and measure what you have in there.

When I was a little boy, the only way we could measure how much gas was in our car was to poke a stick down into the gas tank. If we waited for the car to show how much gas it had, we were in trouble. Today, we have faith in the gas gauge on the dashboard, even though it may sometimes fail; but the things of God never fail, and they will last for eternity. The love He has given to you is more than sufficient when you yield to it. Measure the love in your soul with God’s Word.

Live in God’s Love

Paul said nothing could conquer the love of God. Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us (Romans 8:35,37). You cannot be destroyed unless the love of God in you is destroyed, so live in God’s love and dine on it every day. The love of God is your armor and your protection. The perfect love of God is your life.

You can be perfect in the love of God, although not necessarily in the eyes of people. Every time God looks at those who are covered with His love in perfection, He is delighted; so use that great, great power of divine love. It is the greatest power there is on Earth and in Heaven.

When you were a sinner, the power of love made you sorry for your sins. God captured your attention and began to reveal, “I died for you because I loved you. I knew you were a sinner, but I loved you.” You might have thought you came to Jesus through fear. He used a lot of fear to bring me to Him, but deep down in my heart I knew God loved me. That kind of fear is a wonderful fear; it is not a destructive fear but rather Calvary’s love-fear.

The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom (Proverbs 9:10). Calvary’s love-fear can flood your mind until you become helpless to fight against it anymore. Then finally you say, “I surrender! I surrender! I’m sorry, Lord, that I sinned against you.” Why would you say you were sorry and ask God’s forgiveness if you didn’t believe He has love in His heart for you? He certainly would not forgive without love.

You Can Have Strength from Heaven

Thus saith the Lord, if you use this message, you will win. Aren’t you glad you can have the things in your soul that make you a winner? Aren’t you glad you don’t have to have any weakness in your soul? You can have the strength of Heaven if you will receive salvation and let the Holy Spirit flow His strength from your soul into your mind. Let Him flow His strength, grace, power, righteousness and holiness to you. Let Him show you His direction that is included in all of Heaven’s help. You can take on the wonderful mind of Christ! How glorious it will be to take on His mind!

You don’t have to be bound with fear. When fear comes to your mind, it will be driven away and destroyed if you have the right ingredients in your soul. Just a flow of Heaven’s love will destroy it. Then your mind will suddenly come to life in the love of Jesus and accept the strength, the greatness and the joy of God’s promises. Your mind will be agreeing with your soul that Jesus never fails! Jesus never fails!

Do You Have Jesus?

If you are lost and undone without God, why don’t you come to Jesus? Will you say this prayer with me now? Oh, God, I believe in Jesus Christ. I believe He died for me, and I know I am a sinner. I know I am lost, but I confess all of my sins. I know the blood of Jesus will wash away every sin. Come on in, Jesus. Come on in! If you meant that prayer, Jesus has come. He is yours.

Jesus Is the Healer

If you are sick and afflicted, Jesus loves you. He can heal you of that foul cancer, the heart trouble, the paralysis that has crippled you, the blindness or whatever else you may need. Little, disabled children can be restored and made whole. The Lord is the one who can get you well. I am not a healer; God is. I am just a Jesus believer.

Lord, I bring the sick and afflicted ones to you. You have given me your gifts to deliver the people. From your gift of miracles and gifts of healing it comes. In the name of your Son, Jesus, heal! Heal, in the holy name of the Lord, in His righteous name.

The healing power is now flowing. Diseases and afflictions are being conquered through the power of Jesus’ holy name. Let that power work in your soul through the love of God. Let it flood in until your mind cries in faith believing, “He loves me! He loves me! He is working with His healing power to get me well.”

The Lord prepares a wonderful table every day for the children of God. Reach out and take what you need for your soul and for your mind. As your soul dines at the table of the Lord, your mind will become conscious of what is taking place and begin to yield to the Spirit. The Holy Spirit will then bridge the gulf between your mind and soul, so Heaven’s flow will not be blocked.

I want to bring this scripture before you again: Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness (Isaiah 41:10). Keep that divine flow moving within you, and you will conquer fear. There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear (I John 4:18).
