What Meaneth This?
by Ernest Angley
December 2003
The Day of Pentecost came, the Holy Ghost descended, and the Holy Ghost spoke through those in the Upper Room in many tongues and dialects. And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance (Acts 2:1-4).
Devout men from every nation under the sun heard them speaking, the Bible declares. The different languages coming through the Galilean Jews were understood, and people knew these were languages the Jews did not know. And they were all amazed, and were in doubt, saying one to another, What meaneth this? Others mocking said, These men are full of new wine. But Peter, standing up with the eleven, lifted up his voice, and said unto them, Ye men of Judaea, and all ye that dwell at Jerusalem, be this known unto you, and hearken to my words: For these are not drunken, as ye suppose, seeing it is but the third hour of the day. But this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel; And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh (Acts 2:12-17).
What meaneth this? The answer came from Simon Peter, the one who had failed when Jesus was arrested, failed during His trial, denied even knowing Him. But Peter had gotten back to the Lord, he is aflame now; he has no fear. The Lord took all the fear away when He conquered death. The fear that would come to his mind would vanish by the perfect love of God flowing inside him. He understood now; he never would go away from the Lord again. Peter began to tell these men what this miraculous manifestation meant. This is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel (Acts 2:16). So many years before, God had spoken it…now it had happened. Peter is saying that the prophecy of Joel is being fulfilled before their very eyes, that’s what this means. If you want to know what it’s all about, you don’t have to wonder any longer, and no one else on planet Earth today need wonder any longer, either.
Men and women had taken on the blood of Jesus, divine blood, in such a great way that the third person in the Trinity of the Godhead, the Holy Spirit Himself, had descended to set up His abode in their souls. It doesn’t mean only that the Holy Ghost had descended; it means much more than that. It means that it was true about Jesus; He was definitely born of the Virgin Mary. No matter how many critics, doubters, infidels and agnostics try to deny it, the Virgin Birth is still a fact, a biblical fact.
What meaneth this? Peter let them know that it means they had killed the Messiah of the Jews, killed their Redeemer, their Savior, put Him to a hideous death. Peter didn’t spare them. He preached to them until they cried out. Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do? Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost (Acts 2:37,38).
The Jesus Star Appeared
What meaneth this? It means more than the Holy Ghost had come; it means that the angels did sing at Jesus’ birth. It means that the shepherds had found Him and worshipped Him. It means that an unusual star appeared, the Jesus star. The Jesus star wasn’t like any other star that has ever been in the sky. Because it was so different, the wise men had no trouble identifying the Jesus star from all the other stars, and they followed that star for two years.
Many people don’t realize that not until two years after the birth of Christ did the wise men finally see Jesus. With the star guiding them, they had traveled a long journey. The Jesus star, that miracle star, is still guiding God’s people today.
What meaneth this? It means that the wise men did follow the star and found the Christ Child. It means they accepted Him, gave Him gifts, and recognized Him to be the Savior of the World.
What meaneth this? It means at twelve years of age Jesus was in the temple giving doctors, lawyers or anyone else all the answers to any questions. It means Jesus took on flesh as we have it. In the fashion of humanity He had come to show us how to live holy, how to be holy, and how to walk with God. He showed us how to be restored spiritually to that wonderful, holy place: the spiritual Garden of Eden.
What meaneth this? It means that the Lord was giving His favor to man again. Death and sin had reigned for thousands of years, but now at last, the second Adam, Jesus Christ the Son of God, had come as Savior of the world.
Prophets Wrote about Jesus
Peter reminded the crowd of Joel the prophet, and he reminded them of David—called him a prophet, also. For David speaketh concerning him, I foresaw the Lord always before my face, for he is on my right hand, that I should not be moved: Therefore did my heart rejoice, and my tongue was glad; moreover also my flesh shall rest in hope: Because thou wilt not leave my soul in hell, neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption. Thou hast made known to me the ways of life; thou shalt make me full of joy with thy countenance. Men and brethren, let me freely speak unto you of the patriarch David, that he is both dead and buried, and his sepulchre is with us unto this day. Therefore being a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him, that of the fruit of his loins, according to the flesh, he would raise up Christ to sit on his throne; He seeing this before spake of the resurrection of Christ, that his soul was not left in hell, neither his flesh did see corruption. This Jesus hath God raised up, whereof we all are witnesses. Therefore being by the right hand of God exalted, and having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Ghost, he hath shed forth this, which ye now see and hear. For David is not ascended into the heavens: but he saith himself, The Lord said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand, Until I make thy foes thy footstool. Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made that same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ (Acts 2:25-36). Marvelous insight the Holy Ghost gave to Simon Peter as he began to tell the crowd all that this meant.
What meaneth this? It means that all the prophets, both major and minor, wrote about Jesus. Jesus is the true one, the real one, and you killed Him, you crucified Him. He had come to save and you crucified Him on a cruel, cruel cross! This is the message that came forth; that’s what it means.
It means that all that Jesus had taught and brought was real, and Peter wanted everyone to know it, to know about the promised Holy Spirit. The promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call (Acts 2:39).
Follow Thou Me
What meaneth this? It means that the healing Christ had come. It means that He was baptized of John in Jordan, and that John and others saw the Holy Ghost in the form of a dove descending upon Him and heard the voice of God. And it came to pass in those days, that Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee, and was baptized of John in Jordan. And straightway coming up out of the water, he saw the heavens opened, and the Spirit like a dove descending upon him: And there came a voice from heaven, saying, Thou art my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased (Mark 1:9-11). Here in one place we have the revelation of the three personalities in the Godhead. God the Father was speaking from Heaven; the Holy Ghost descended in the form of a dove on the Son of God, the Beloved One. When God said, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased, it meant that the Holy Ghost did take Jesus over, and the Holy Ghost did baptize Him as well as John who baptized Him in water.
What meaneth this? Follow thou me (John 21:22). Jesus meant for them to follow Him in water baptism, and to follow Him into the wilderness of fastings. And Jesus being full of the Holy Ghost returned from Jordan, and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness, Being forty days tempted of the devil. And in those days he did eat nothing: and when they were ended, he afterward hungered (Luke 4:1,2).
It means that Jesus had met Lucifer head-on and defeated him with the Word, teaching us how to defeat the devil, as well. And the devil said unto him [Jesus], If thou be the Son of God, command this stone that it be made bread. And Jesus answered him, saying, It is written, That man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God. And the devil, taking him up into an high mountain, shewed unto him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time. And the devil said unto him, All this power will I give thee, and the glory of them: for that is delivered unto me; and to whomsoever I will I give it. If thou therefore wilt worship me, all shall be thine. And Jesus answered and said unto him, Get thee behind me, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve. And he brought him to Jerusalem, and set him on a pinnacle of the temple, and said unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down from hence: For it is written, He shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee: And in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone. And Jesus answering said unto him, It is said, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God. And when the devil had ended all the temptation, he departed from him for a season (Luke 4:3-13).
What meaneth this? Simon Peter is saying it means we have victory over the powers of the devil, that we don’t have to bow down. When in all faith we speak the Word of the Lord to the devil, it’s the same as God speaking face to face to him and he has to move; he loses his power. Oh, thank God forevermore!
Go Forth in the Power of the Spirit
What meaneth this? Many people have never learned what it means. It means people can be free and must be free from all sin, that sin hath no more dominion over them, that they are made holy through the blood that stained the Old Rugged Cross. For sin shall not have dominion over you (Romans 6:14).
It means that Jesus brought divine blood from Heaven, and it means that we are partakers of that divine blood, Peter is saying. Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust (II Peter 1:4). I say to you today, we are partakers of the divine blood of Jesus when we have divinity on the inside. Sins washed away, we’re as pure as Heaven itself, so pure that we have been given eternal life. Thank God, the soul will never die. That’s what this means: We’ll live on forever. It means that Christ, the Crucified One said, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live (John 11:25). He was dead; He was in the tomb, but on the third day He came walking out. He walked out—that’s what this means—death couldn’t hold Him. Oh hallelujah! Blessed be the name of the Lord!
How wonderful it is to know this is what it means: He is risen; He is alive! Is He alive in your heart today? Is He alive in your soul today? Is He alive on the inside of you?
What meaneth this? It means that Christ went forth in the power of the Spirit. It means that Christ, the real Son of God, said, The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, To preach the acceptable year of the Lord (Luke 4:18,19).
What meaneth this? It means the Gospel is for the whole world and we’re taking it to the whole world in this last hour. Let it come to life on the inside of you if it hasn’t already.
What meaneth this? You have the answer. You can answer because you have Jesus. Just as Paul, you cry: I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me (Galatians 2:20).
Thousands Saved and Healed
What meaneth this? Simon Peter has become a wonderful person now. He’s telling the crowd that the Lord had promised to pour out His Spirit upon all flesh. The Lord poured out His Spirit on the Early Church and He is pouring it out in our day. That’s what this means. His Spirit will be poured out in such a great way that it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved (Acts 2:21).
In our overseas crusades, we have thousands and thousands saved in moments. It’s marvelous to behold how people are coming to God in our crusades and being saved, healed and delivered. In moments, thousands of miracles take place. It’s the power of God being poured out. That’s what this means, that people are saved and healed of all manner of sicknesses and diseases.
There’s no scientific cure for AIDS, but people are being healed of AIDS through the power of God. There have been thousands of people healed of AIDS through this Jesus ministry, that’s what this means. It means there’s no case too hard for divinity. With His blood stripes, Isaiah the prophet said, we are healed. But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed (Isaiah 53:5). With His divine blood, deliverance comes; that’s what this means.
What meaneth this? You can be healed, physically healed through the divine blood of Jesus, and you can have your sins washed away, be born new. Jesus said, Ye must be born again (John 3:7).
Simon Peter is telling the crowd what this means: Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls (Acts 2:41). Isn’t that wonderful!
The disciples had been so few in number; only about 120 had gone to the Upper Room to find out what meaneth this. They didn’t expect to have that many saved, but three thousand were saved in one day. What a message, three thousand saved! Praise God, the Early Church was on its way.
Death Is Defeated
What meaneth this? It means that Lazarus did die and was in the grave four days. Then at the Lord’s command, they rolled the stone away. There stood the Master before the mouth of that tomb crying, Lazarus, come forth (John 11:43). What meaneth this? It means Lazarus came forth; life flowed through him.
Christ is the life-giver; death couldn’t defeat Him. Death won’t be able to defeat us either, thank God! If you as a child of God die before the Rapture takes place, on the Resurrection day you’ll come out of the grave with a new body, a glorious body that will never know sickness or death. Because you have the life of God in your soul, your soul will never, never die; that’s what this means.
We’re going to meet Jesus one day. We have loved ones on the other side; people say they’re dead, yet they live. That’s what this means.
What meaneth this? It means that I’m free and you’re free. We who are trusting in the blood of the Lamb are free. They overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony (Revelation 12:11). We’re overcomers, that’s what this means. We are Jesus overcomers, and the devil is defeated day after day.
Freed from Satan’s Bondage
What meaneth this? It means we have power to trample devils underfoot. Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you (Luke 10:19). That’s what this means. Jesus said, In my name shall they cast out devils…they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover (Mark 16:17,18).
What meaneth this? It means the woman who was bent over with arthritis for eighteen long years could be delivered. And ought not this woman, being a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan hath bound, lo, these eighteen years, be loosed from this bond on the sabbath day? And when he [Jesus] had said these things, all his adversaries were ashamed: and all the people rejoiced for all the glorious things that were done by him (Luke 13:16,17).
Jesus called the woman’s affliction devil bondage, yet some people declare that sickness comes from God. But Jesus, the Son of God, denied the charge; He denied that that’s what this means. Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning (James 1:17). Sickness is not perfect, it’s not good, and it doesn’t come from Heaven.
Jesus said, This woman whom Satan hath bound, shouldn’t she be free? He set her free and He’s setting people free today who are bound with diseases. Some can’t walk, but they begin to walk in our services; they’re set free.
The Deaf and Blind Were Healed
Jesus came to give sight to the blind, and the blind receive their sight in our services—how great! Jesus would touch people and they were healed. He would speak and it was done. He called for the deaf and dumb spirits to come out, commanded them; and the deaf could hear and the dumb tongue was free and began to speak. He is still doing those miracles today through His servants.
And they bring unto him [Jesus] one that was deaf, and had an impediment in his speech; and they beseech him to put his hand upon him. And he took him aside from the multitude, and put his fingers into his ears, and he spit, and touched his tongue; And looking up to heaven, he sighed, and saith unto him, Ephphatha, that is, Be opened. And straightway his ears were opened, and the string of his tongue was loosed, and he spake plain. And he charged them that they should tell no man: but the more he charged them, so much the more a great deal they published it; And were beyond measure astonished, saying, He hath done all things well: he maketh both the deaf to hear, and the dumb to speak (Mark 7:32-3).
What meaneth this? To blind Bartimaeus it meant he got his sight. And they came to Jericho: and as he went out of Jericho with his disciples and a great number of people, blind Bartimaeus, the son of Timaeus, sat by the highway side begging. And when he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out, and say, Jesus, thou son of David, have mercy on me. And many charged him that he should hold his peace: but he cried the more a great deal, Thou son of David, have mercy on me. And Jesus stood still, and commanded him to be called. And they call the blind man, saying unto him, Be of good comfort, rise; he calleth thee. And he, casting away his garment, rose, and came to Jesus. And Jesus answered and said unto him, What wilt thou that I should do unto thee? The blind man said unto him, Lord, that I might receive my sight. And Jesus said unto him, Go thy way; thy faith hath made thee whole. And immediately he received his sight, and followed Jesus in the way (Mark 10:46-52).
Zacchaeus, Come Down!
What meaneth this? It meant that Zacchaeus could come down, and although he was just a sinner, he came down receiving salvation. There was a man named Zacchaeus, which was the chief among the publicans, and he was rich. And he sought to see Jesus who he was; and could not for the press, because he was little of stature. And he ran before, and climbed up into a sycomore tree to see him: for he was to pass that way. And when Jesus came to the place, he looked up, and saw him, and said unto him, Zacchaeus, make haste, and come down; for today I must abide at thy house. And he made haste, and came down, and received him joyfully (Luke 19:2-6).
Zacchaeus received salvation because he was repenting all the way down the tree. He hit the ground saying, Behold, Lord, the half of my goods I give to the poor; and if I have taken any thing from any man by false accusation, I restore him fourfold (Luke 19:8). If that’s not a good sign of salvation, I don’t know what is.
The Lord said, I’m going home with you, Zacchaeus. When you take Jesus home with you, that means salvation. He won’t go home with just anyone. He’ll knock on doors, but He won’t come in to dine unless there is repentance within.
The greatest night of my entire life was when the Lord let me know He was going home with me. My sins were all washed away and I was walking hand in hand with the nail-riven hand; I was walking with the Lord. What meaneth this? It means at age eighteen that Ernest Angley was set free from sin and started preaching the Gospel.
Greater Works
We have the joy and the peace from Heaven daily. We’re being served this great love and peace from Heaven; we have it, and we should be enjoying it. Jesus came to destroy oppression, depression and despair, and give us light—that’s what this means. The disciples watched Jesus with His great healing touch, His great power of deliverance, and heard Jesus tell them that they would do greater works—works on a greater scale, in other words. And it was marvelous indeed how they went forth just as the Lord had said they would.
We can do the works of Jesus, that’s what this means; we have His ministry. Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father (John 14:12).
Today the ministry of Jesus is on a much larger scale than in the beginning of the Church. I once thought that 120 receiving the Holy Ghost baptism was out of this world. As a young preacher I never dreamed I would live to see the day that thousands would be baptized with the real Holy Ghost in minutes in my services. Not talking in tongues at will, they are filled with the real Spirit. And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance (Acts 2:4).
On the Day of Pentecost those in the Upper Room were not speaking in tongues at will. No, it was the Holy Ghost who took over their tongues—and He won’t take over a tongue that isn’t holy. That soul has to be blood-washed, blood-clean.
What meaneth this? It means that all Jesus said, all He taught is for us today and we should be using it. It means all those blessed things the Lord spoke in the Beatitudes are ours.
What meaneth this? It means we can have it all. It means that Heaven is so near through Jesus’ shed blood that the next step could put us on the shore of sweet deliverance. It doesn’t take long to get to Heaven. One moment a person can be on Earth, and the next step in Glory. Jesus bridged the gap; that’s what this means.
He Was a Murderer
What meaneth this? It means no matter how deep in sin you’ve gone, Sinner, you can be set free. Paul said he was the chief of sinners. This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief (I Timothy 1:15). Paul was a murderer, a blasphemer. He sought to arrest Christians and have them put to death. No wonder he said he was the chief of sinners; he really was a mean one.
What meaneth this? It means that a sinner called Saul was delivered, set free, and lived a holy life just like Jesus lived. The Lord worked through him in great and mighty ways. Paul wrote many books for the Lord, books that good ministers preach from, books you study and learn from. The Holy Ghost gave great insight to Paul—that’s what this means.
What meaneth this? It means that the Spirit worketh within and without as well. It means we have the same Holy Spirit that Jesus had. Jesus had divine blood in His veins and we have divine blood in our souls. Praise God forevermore!
What a Jesus, what a Christ! Isaiah said, His name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace (Isaiah 9:6).
Salvation in No Other
What meaneth this? It means Jesus has come; He died for you. Jesus is Lord and Christ, that’s what this means. He’s Lord of all, Christ of all. He’s the only Savior: Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved (Acts 4:12). That’s what this means. For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ (I Corinthians 3:11). What can we do? Repent, Peter said, and every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ.
Some people think the name of Jesus is the only name we’re to be baptized in. No, Peter was talking to people who had rejected Jesus, letting them know that Jesus must be included. God the Father and the Holy Spirit they recognized, but they didn’t recognize Jesus to be their Messiah. They didn’t recognize Him to be manna from Heaven.
Jesus had told the disciples, Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost (Matthew 28:19). Why do people sidetrack and go a different way than Jesus said? The Bible tells us that they baptized in the name of Jesus, but the Bible also says to baptize in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Ghost. What was this about? They had to recognize Jesus, but they also had to recognize all three: Father, Son, and Holy Ghost.
What meaneth this? It means Jesus is the Christ, the Savior. It means you have to use the name of Jesus for remission of sins and then go on to receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. And gladly the people on the Day of Pentecost received the Word; they received Jesus. Jesus was the Word made flesh. And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth (John 1:14).
What meaneth this? It means that Jesus Christ is Lord. It means He is the Christ, the Savior. It means that God has made Him Lord of all. It’s marvelous to know that Jesus is Lord of all.
What meaneth this? It means when you die, you need Jesus in your heart. It means that He who said He was the door is the only door into Heaven. I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture (John 10:9).
What meaneth this? Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me (John 14:6). He is the way, the only way, and He is truth; He is life. Without Him there’s no passport to Heaven. No gate of Glory will open to you unless your soul has been sealed with the divine blood that Jesus brought to Earth and spilled on Calvary.
Jesus Will Return
What meaneth this? It means that it was all true, that the disciples did watch Jesus out of sight; they did see Him ascend back to Heaven. They did see two angels, and they heard the witness: This same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven (Acts 1:11). That’s what this means; take the full meaning.
Some people think what happened on the Day of Pentecost meant only that the Holy Ghost had come. No, it was much more than that. Simon Peter knew it was much more. As the Lord began to bring the prophecies to his mind, he wasn’t afraid to put them out to the people. Are you afraid to deliver the Gospel? Are you afraid to deliver the truth? Are you afraid to stand for the truth?
What meaneth this? It means we have nothing to fear and nothing to worry about. It means that Jesus is coming just like He said, and He’s coming for those who are watching for Him. Blessed are those servants, whom the lord when he cometh shall find watching (Luke 12:37).
This same Jesus that they watched go away is coming again in the clouds. Jesus said, When ye shall see all these things [the endtime signs], know that it is near, even at the doors (Matthew 24:33). We’re seeing all the signs today and we know His coming is at the door; redemption draweth nigh. The Rapture is close at hand.
What meaneth this? It means you can be full of the power of God just like Jesus was, like the Early Church was; and you can deliver people from the powers of Lucifer, set them free in the blood name of Jesus. People can be healed today just as they were when Jesus was here in the flesh. In His name people today are healed of all manner of sicknesses and diseases. In His blood name the demons cannot stay in the temple of a human being if that person wants to be free; those devils have to come out.
What meaneth this? It means that the Holy Ghost baptizes a person and moves into the tabernacle of clay, just like Jesus told the disciples, to set up His abode and dwell on the inside. Know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you (I Corinthians 6:19)? It means no matter where you are, no matter how many people read this message, the Lord looks upon you as an individual, as a person whom Jesus died for, and the Lord is ready to forgive you. It means you can have forgiveness for all of your sins, and your body will become the temple of the Holy Ghost. How wonderful indeed!
The Bible tells people to repent, that they will be saved if they confess their sins. If thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved (Romans 10:9). If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness (I John 1:9). We are forgiven through the wonderful divine blood that flowed in Jesus’ veins and given eternal life, thank God.
Come to Jesus
Sinner, come to Jesus. Backslider, hurry home before dark or you won’t get back. Please say this prayer with me: Oh, God, save my soul. Forgive me of all of my sins. I will serve you, Lord, the rest of my life. I do believe that I can be saved today. I do believe that I have the answer now. I give my heart to you, and I believe the blood of Jesus washes away all of my sins. Come on in, Jesus! Come on in!
If you believe this prayer, He has come. Go on to receive the mighty gift of the Holy Ghost. The Holy Ghost is promised to you just like the promise of salvation.
You who are sick and afflicted: What meaneth this? It means that the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up (James 5:15). I’m the Lord’s believer. He’s endowed me with His gifts. He’s pouring His power through me to work His will for people. I am not the healer; Jesus is the healer, that’s what this means.
Lord, here they are. Those who are almost dead with AIDS—give them life now. Lord, Lazarus was dead four days and nights and you raised him from the dead. I curse that awful death disease; those who will reach out to you, Lord, give their lives to you, can be set free. And other death diseases, no matter what they are, leprosy, heart trouble, cancer, diabetes, arthritis, paralysis: Heal! in the miracle blood name of Jesus. Heal! in the all-powerful blood name of Jesus! Heal! Heal! Heal! in the name of Jesus, the Son of God.
If you believed that prayer, the healing power flowed and the cure is there. Watch yourself get well, or watch your little ones get well. Watch your household get well, and write and tell me about it as others are doing. I love to hear about the miracles. I never get tired of receiving letters telling about what God is doing, what is happening through this Jesus ministry.
What meaneth this? We live in an hour that the power of the Holy Spirit is being poured out on all flesh, on all who will accept it. All can be saved, healed, delivered and set free if they will only turn to the Lord in faith believing. This is His ministry and we honor Him, and give Him all the praise.
