What Have You Carried in Your Mind Cup This Week?
Volume 49 The Mysteries of God

The lesson text: For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace (Romans 8:6).
The devil is battling, battling in different ways with different people, doing everything he can to bring the wrong thoughts to your mind, saith the Lord. What are you going to do about it? Will you embrace any of the devil’s thoughts? Are you going to yield to them or will you take the thoughts of God? The Lord is giving much to prepare the mind for this last and final hour; listen to what He is saying and never forget it. God is dealing with the mind; you must not disappoint Him. Nothing really counts now but pleasing the Lord. Enoch pleased God, and God translated him so that he did not see death. He was dedicated to God.
For the last seven days, what have you carried in your mind? What kind of thoughts have you entertained? I don’t mean what kind of thoughts just darted through, but what kind did you keep? Thoughts can fly through your mind like a bird, but you don’t have to let them build a nest. Shoot down bad thoughts with good ones.
God in His Bible instructs us to think on whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things (Philippians 4:8). Go back seven days—one week—and examine how your mind worked those last seven days. How much of the time did it dwell on these six things?
There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit (Romans 8:1). If you walk after the flesh, you have condemnation. It’s dangerous to embrace thoughts of the flesh even momentarily. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death. For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh: That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit (Romans 8:2-4). Every time you embrace the wrong thought even momentarily, it takes something from you, saith the Lord. If you embrace any thought that isn’t right, you have the light turned out in that part of your mind, saith the Lord. You may not keep the thought, but when the devil sees that he can get you to turn out the light of God for even a moment, he will be back, working on you to turn it out two or three more moments.
For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit (Romans 8:5). God wants the spiritual things to be foremost in your life. Desire them; want them in your mind. Make room for nothing less.
For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God (Romans 8:6-8). If you are walking in the mind of flesh, the thoughts of flesh, you are not pleasing God. Enmity against God is hostility toward Him. One with enmity is a person having the feelings and attitude of an enemy.
But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his (Romans 8:9). This is a weighty statement. You do not belong to Christ if you do not have His Spirit in you.
For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God (Romans 8:14). To be a son or daughter of God—how profound! The spiritual mind has this promise; the flesh mind does not. For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father (Romans 8:15). We have been adopted into the family of God through Jesus Christ.
The Psalmist wrote, My cup runneth over (Psalm 23:5). He wasn’t referring to his soul, but to his mind. Spiritually minded he was, and his mind cup overflowed with the goodness of God. He praised God for his blessings, for what God had done for him and given to him.
Check your mind and, remember, if your mind is carnal, death is there. If it is a spiritual mind, it has life, eternal life with the Lord.
Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage (Galatians 5:1). You were rid of the yoke of sin the day you received salvation; in those moments you had no trouble with your mind. The soul was cleansed, emptied of the old self and filled instantly by the Lord with His greatness. Be steadfast in that liberty; never let it go.
Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh (Galatians 5:16). You can’t walk in the Spirit unless you live in the Spirit. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit (Galatians 5:25). Walk as children of light (Ephesians 5:8). If you are not walking with the spiritual mind that the Bible declares is your heritage, then you are not walking in the light. Many fail to walk in the light, and their minds fill with darkness. They can’t see clearly the things of God; their understanding is clouded and flawed.
In the last seven days, have you gone to the tree of forbidden fruit? Have your eyes been on that which is of the flesh, that which is forbidden in God’s Word? What have been your thoughts? Were they tarnished, cloudy thoughts not sent by the Holy Ghost? Did the great I-Am have nothing to do with your thoughts? Have you accepted thoughts from the enemy, from demons of the mind who are battling to control your mind and soul? What have you carried this week?
Look on the mind as a cup. Consider the care you take with the cups you drink from. Thoroughly you wash them with soap and hot water so there will be no viruses, no germs passed from one person to another. Now think how much more important a clean mind cup is. The heat of the Holy Spirit will kill the germs in the mind cup, make it a fit cup that the Lord can pour Himself into as you yield to Him.
In these last seven days, how much has the Lord been able to pour into your mind? How much of the Word have you put into action? Have you watched your mind cup? Did you guard it to make sure nothing was in it to hinder the Lord from filling it with the peace, joy, goodness, mercy and greatness that only He can serve? Many times we come up lacking because we don’t have the cup ready.
Do you see results when you fast? when you pray? Do you pray and then go on your way still careless with the things of God? Do you go to the tree of forbidden fruit after your prayer time?
There is nothing innocent about sin. Always remember that every time the devil can influence you to think on the wrong thing, look at the wrong thing, he will. Down through the years he has destroyed men and women by this method. He took over a whole civilization in Noah’s day except eight souls. The Bible tells us that God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually (Genesis 6:5). Except for Noah and his family, the people were empty shells with no God about them at all, no godly characteristics or traits. Evil was in their hearts constantly, and many today are like that, too. Minds are still contaminated with the world.
You pray, fast, read the Word of God, but how much good does it do you? The Lord wants you to think about it. Prayer, fasting and living in the Word of God are the three steps the Lord told me would take people into His greatness. Those three steps carried on devoutly, sincerely before the Lord will bring you into the place God wants you to be.
What happens after you pray? What happens after you fast? What happens after you close the Bible? Are you any better? Did your cup fill up? If it did, you won’t be looking for the tree of forbidden fruit. You will be looking to the Lord, His blessings, His greatness; and you will be ready to serve that cup of greatness to others. Lord, keep filling my cup! will be your cry as you hold out that cup before the Lord to be filled and re-filled. You love to have the cup run over; it means there is plenty of the goodness of God in your mind as well as in your soul.
The Lord didn’t stop at filling the Psalmist’s cup; He ran it over with blessings. God has much love, peace, joy, faith with which to run your cup over. He does not bless sparingly; He blesses abundantly. You are the one who measures God’s blessings to yourself.
Disobedience to God empties the cup, cuts down on the flow, and blocks out much of God’s abundance. It won’t do in this last hour, saith the Lord. You must have the strength of God daily, the thoughts of God in this your final hour, the goodness of the Lord.
Keep your eyes on Jesus. Straying eyes bring failure to receive from God what you should in your prayer life, your fasting life, your Bible study life. Check to see if you are speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord; Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ (Ephesians 5:19,20).
What do you talk to yourself about? If you embrace the devil’s thought, it becomes a voice to you; his thought is speaking. Through thoughts, the devil can make contact. Even, I say again, a momentary contact is unsafe. It’s very dangerous to let the devil have your attention, to give audience to him. Don’t do it. The devil wants to prevent people from getting ready for God’s greatness in his final hour. Remember, to be carnally minded is death, and to be spiritually minded is life and Heaven’s peace.
There are different kinds of minds. The Word of God mentions a few. For the people had a mind to work (Nehemiah 4:6). These Israelites had work-centered minds as they built the walls of Jerusalem.
When a person’s mind is on the Lord, that one will have a mind of peace. God wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee (Isaiah 26:3).
King Nebuchadnezzar’s mind of pride got him into trouble. When his heart was lifted up, and his mind hardened in pride, he was deposed from his kingly throne, and they took his glory from him (Daniel 5:20).
In Mark 5 and Luke 8 is the story of Legion, a man who was possessed with thousands of devils. His mind was demented; he was wild, insane; but when he met Jesus and was delivered, he was found sitting, and clothed, and in his right mind.
Jesus tells us in Luke 12:29 to seek not ye what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink, neither be ye of doubtful mind.
Paul and Silas ministered to the Jews in Berea who received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily (Acts 17:11). They had minds ready to receive.
Paul told the elders at Ephesus that he came serving the Lord with all humility of mind (Acts 20:19). Humility, lowliness of mind lets you think more of others than of self. Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus (Philippians 2:5).
In Romans 1:28,29 we read that God gave people over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient; Being filled with all unrighteousness. These were people with evil minds, minds that loved the works of the flesh. Many in this hour have been turned over to reprobate minds, perverted minds, minds that are corrupt, degenerate, evil, immoral, sinful.
For who hath known the mind of the Lord (Romans 11:34)? Do you know the mind of Christ? Do you have it?
Let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind (Romans 14:5). Be fully persuaded that God is who the Bible says He is. I see many people whose minds are not fully persuaded, and they fall away from the Lord. They are in and out, up and down with God. Not every step they walk is with the Lord.
For it there be first a willing mind (II Corinthians 8:12). Be willing to do the Lord’s work; He loves a willing mind, willing to obey the Holy Spirit, willing to do whatever God wants, to speak His words.
The spirit of one mind with the Lord frees Him to work miraculous works. Be perfect, be of good comfort, be of one mind (II Corinthians 13:11). Are you able to be in one mind with God’s true people? If you are connected with God and the Holy Ghost, and the Holy Ghost is bubbling inside, you have that one-mindedness. Stand fast in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel (Philippians 1:27). Fulfil ye my joy, that ye be like-minded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind (Philippians 2:2).
Be of the same mind in the Lord (Philippians 4:2). The same mind that was in Christ belongs to the children of God.
That ye be not soon shaken in mind (II Thessalonians 2:2). Do you have the kind of mind that is not shaken by the devil? Is it easy for him to shake your mind? For the devil to have power over your mind is very dangerous; you cannot allow it. People seeking to have mind power over others, to control, to bring them into their own thinking are of the devil. Don’t seek power over others; that, I say again, is the devil’s strategy; God is the one to deal with people. Pray that the power of God has leadership over people, that He touches hearts and brings them into His will.
Can the devil really shake you? Can he shake you through certain people? Does their control fill your mind with fear? For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind (II Timothy 1:7).
In tempting Christians, the devil first brings this thought: You’re not going to commit sin. You’re not going to “eat the fruit.” You’re just going to look. When you play with sin, you are in great danger. Sin can sweep you away faster than a crocodile can pull you under water. If you indulge your mind, let it “toy” a little with the thought of sin, the devil will make you think you’re not really serious about it. As you flirt with that which is wrong, you tell yourself you would never embrace it. You’re deceived if you console yourself by thinking that Christians do the same thing; there’s no harm in it. Many people will be in hell because of “no harm” sins. Sin is sin in the eyes of God. Because you want to be convinced, the devil will convince you that sin is not sin, that you are not looking at the wrong thing—and anyway, you can stop whenever you want. The alcoholic thinks he can stop drinking anytime he wants; it’s just that he doesn’t want to stop.
The Bible tells us to abstain from all appearance of evil (I Thessalonians 5:22). Not only keep away from evil, but avoid the very appearance of it. If you are close to God, if the Holy Spirit has your mind as well as your soul, a warning signal will go up at once when you venture over to dangerous ground. No matter what thought the devil is trying to bring to you, the alarm goes off. The Holy Spirit moves on you to reject that thought, that look; and He flushes God’s anointing into your eyes, into your ears, into your mind cup. Whether or not you use the anointing is up to you. It’s extremely risky in this last hour to not use the anointing of the Holy Spirit at all times. Use whatever the Holy Spirit flows into your cup and not one thing that flesh or the devil introduces.
The flesh is weak, subject to cooperate with the devil unless it is made strong through the might of God’s power. Man wasn’t created to live away from his God. Even just by going to the forbidden tree, Eve separated herself from God. When you take one step toward disobedience, you are going away from God, one step taken in the wrong direction. The devil knows there is an opening.
Learn the strategy of the devil, how he functions, so that you will not be part of his scheme. Without realizing it, many of God’s people have become part of the devil’s operation. They have the Spirit of God in their souls, but their minds are warped, and the devil is able to drop in thoughts that contaminate them. The Holy Spirit cannot pour into their minds what they need because He cannot mix with the contamination, the carnality.
Paul writes again of the carnal mind. And I, brethren, could not speak unto you as unto spiritual, but as unto carnal, even as unto babes in Christ (I Corinthians 3:1). These people did not have spiritual minds, but carnal. Unaccustomed to the things of God, they needed to grow up. Paul was saying that they were not growing in the Lord because of the flesh mind. I have fed you with milk, and not with meat: for hitherto ye were not able to bear it, neither yet now are ye able. For ye are yet carnal: for whereas there is among you envying, and strife, and divisions, are ye not carnal, and walk as men (I Corinthians 3:2,3)? Their thinking brought division; it was a hindrance to the work of God. For while one saith, I am of Paul; and another, I am of Apollos; are ye not carnal (I Corinthians 3:4)?
Are you carnal? Is your mind more of the flesh than of the Spirit of God? You need to answer these questions for yourself. Take an examination through the Lord; it can mean life to you. If you fail the test, it means death unless you turn around and embrace the things of God. Do you have envy in the cup? Strife? Divisions with your brothers and sisters in Christ?
We are not to walk as men, but as sons and daughters of God. Jesus came to Earth and brought divinity for us to partake of. If you have no divinity working in your soul, you are walking without salvation.
This is the hour of blaspheming, a dangerous hour. In the divine visitation in 1954, the Lord told me that this hour would come. He said people—even ministers—would come into the miracle services, see the miracles, reject them and blaspheme the Holy Ghost. Easily people blaspheme against the Holy Ghost—even Pentecostal ministers have blasphemed, are blaspheming and will blaspheme. The Lord is pouring out His greatness before the Rapture, and our only hope is receiving God’s miracle power to get out of here before the Great Tribulation Period sets in. The devil is trying to counteract the move of God by covering the earth with more and more of the powers of darkness.
For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) (II Corinthians 10:3,4). The carnal mind battles with carnal weapons. Some Christians do not pull down the strongholds of the devil in their lives and keep them pulled down because they are using carnal weapons and not the mighty power of God. Don’t war after the flesh; don’t strive for the world’s acceptance. Through the power of God, continue pulling down the devil’s strongholds, for he builds them up wherever he has the opportunity.
Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ (II Corinthians 10:5). Bring your thoughts into the obedience of Christ. Don’t imagine the wrong things; don’t allow the devil to trifle with your imagination. Everything against the truth of God—whether self or the devil—cast down. If you don’t cast them down, they will rise up and challenge the things of God. The devil told Eve that God didn’t really mean what He said, but He did; and because she didn’t cast down either self or the devil, she ate the forbidden fruit.
The only thing to bring salvation to a soul is the blood of Jesus, and the only thing to keep it saved is the power in the blood. That’s the reason the devil hates the blood. The blood of Jesus is your weapon. Every weapon you need to ward off the devil is in the blood, and every weapon in the blood is divine. These are weapons Jesus brought and used as very man to show us that they would work. Jesus defeated devils in every way. He didn’t meet one devil that had power over Him, not even Lucifer himself.
Don’t flirt with the devil; don’t toy with any of his thoughts. Don’t give him even a tiny patch of your mind. If you do, your mind has contamination that will diminish you spiritually. The Holy Spirit cannot fill the mind cup with what is needed when it contains contamination. Let the Holy Spirit fill your cup, overflow it each day, and you will have nothing to fear, nothing to worry about. In this last hour of the pouring out of the Holy Spirit, you can have everything you need from God.
Two great supernatural powers are working today, the power of God and the power of the devil. Cling to the Cross and all it stands for or else you will reach for that which satisfies the flesh; there is no in-between. You will go one way or the other, saith the Lord. Yield to the greatness of God lest the devil sweep you away. The almighty power of Jehovah God belongs to His children.
Embrace all the Cross stands for. The Cross represents the power in the Jesus truth, all the love and strength of Him. Jesus bore the bondage cross of sin and sickness for us to we would not need to. The burden of man’s sins that Jesus took on Himself brought such terrible anguish that in the Garden of Gethsemane His sweat become as blood. He was on His way to Calvary to be our perfect sacrificial Lamb. Taking our sins and sicknesses upon Himself, Jesus became our sin-bearer as well as our sickness-bearer.
Don’t let the devil fool you into accepting a carnal mind with all its desire of the flesh; the spiritual mind seeks the things of God. In these last seven days has your mind clung to the spiritual things? How many moments did you look for the things of the world? Did you long for illicit sex, or for a grudge to be fulfilled, or to even the score with someone? Did you cause strife, divisions in your home or outside the home? All plans of good or evil are first formed in the mind. Murders, robberies begin in the mind. What was in your mind?
Take a close look at your life. Is it contaminated with any of the seventeen works of the flesh? Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like (Galatians 5:19-21). The Lord pronounced judgment on all seventeen. Those who commit any of them without repentance will one day hear the fearful words of the Lord saying that they have no part in His Kingdom.
Examine your mind daily; see if it is performing in the faith. Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith (II Corinthians 13:5). The lord doesn’t warn idly in His Book. The Bible is more precious to God than to anyone else, and He put His essentials in it for us to follow. Are you so caught up in the flesh that you don’t even know the flesh separates you from God, that you are not in the faith of God all the time? Are you really in His faith?
Ponder the nine fruits of the Holy Spirit. These fruits are love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance (Galatians 5:22,23). How much of that fruit can you find in your life? All nine should be there.
To be spiritually minded is to have a mind like Jesus, a mind of truth, a mind not of the world, a mind separated unto God and yielded completely all the time to the blood of Jesus and the power in the blood. A mind like the mind of Jesus is one given over to righteousness, holiness, a mind as pure and clean as the mind of God Himself. A mind like Jesus’ has God’s love, God’s faith, humility; it’s a mind possessed with the things of God and that which God loves.
We are His children, His sons and daughters. Good parents watch carefully over their children, doing all they can to save the children sorrow, heartache and despair, to correct them, to keep them in the right paths. My parents spent much time with us children, teaching the right way, warning about the pitfalls that would hinder, and pointing us to the things that would bless us. They groomed us to meet people in the Spirit of the Lord, to talk with kindness, to respect our elders and look on them as special. We were taught to attend church, to honor our teachers who were there to help us.
You are in trouble when you give your mind over to the carnal things. The worldly mind doesn’t belong to the children of God. Works of darkness are in the mind that has the spirit of the world.
Carnal can mean many things; it refers to the bestial, erotic, immoral, lascivious, lewd, lustful, profane, and the worldly. The carnal nature reaches out for matters not of God, for things that will make you weak. The carnal mind is full of the world and the flesh. “Wiggle tails” get into the cup. You don’t want to see something wiggling in a cup you are about to drink from, and God doesn’t want to see contamination in the mind. Keep your mind cup sterilized at all times by opening it to the Holy Spirit. If you have a carnal nature, you must get your eyes and ears corrected so you can see and hear what God has for you.
When your spiritual hearing is impaired, you hear only bits and pieces of what the Lord is saying. Carnality is there, so much that you do not heed the Holy Spirit. Carnality casts a film over godly intentions and shuts out the tender voice of the Holy Spirit. People interpret the Gospel wrongly when their spiritual hearing is deadened, and they become confused. Confusion leads them into false doctrine and closes the door to the anointing of the Lord. When you, however, are spiritually minded, you listen to all the Holy Spirit is saying.
Don’t try to read your Bible if your mind is not open to the Holy Spirit. The carnal mind cannot understand the Word of God, for it is spiritually discerned. You waste God’s time and yours as well if you are not going to give your mind over to the Holy Spirit. When your mind is on everything but the Word, present yourself to the Holy Spirit and say, Holy Spirit, I need your help. My mind is confused. The Holy Spirit can take away the confusion and give you serenity.
The blood seals the soul, not the mind; but you must use the blood daily to protect the mind. The Holy Spirit is there as you yield to Him to help guard the mind, to condition, feed and nourish it, to keep it full and overflowing. Let Him take the anger out of you, the resentment, the arrogance, all evil thinking. The Holy Spirit can help you banish evil thoughts and give you strength to think as He thinks.
The devil seeks to leech the mind, and a person can become leeched quickly. I’ve observed it, studied it. I’ve seen people set free, and I’ve seen them gradually go back into bondage. It grieves my spirit—think how much more it must grieve the Holy Spirit!
Be wise to the ways of the devil. You can’t afford to let him bring one leech to you. If you accept his thinking, that thought goes into a leech, sometimes more than one. One thought of the devil always carries at least one leech, and usually more.
Many of God’s people have difficulty because leeches are in their minds, going unnoticed by those who are not deeply rooted in the love and truth of God. The devil finds it easy to fool people who do not take an honest self-examination daily, those who will not check to see whether or not they are in all the truth of God, those who avoid facing facts concerning self.
People tend to resent constructive criticism, preferring to look at themselves in an elevated fashion rather than how they really are. Parents, teachers tried to give you an accurate view of yourself, and you may have resented it, but you can’t allow yourself to resent the corrections of the Holy Spirit.
When you rise in the morning, make sure you are free to think on the things of God. A mind consumed with matters not of God will cause more trouble than you realize, thought trouble. How much trouble have your thoughts brought you in these last seven days? The Lord asked Adam, Where art thou? The Holy Spirit is crying to you in a loving voice: Where art thou? Where art thou with your mind?
In the morning you decide what to eat, what to wear; but what preparations do you make for the mind? Before you fall asleep at night, do you make sure that your mind is clear of thoughts unlike God? If there is some contamination there, it will contaminate your whole mind while you sleep; the devil will see to it. But if the right thoughts are in the mind, the Holy Spirit will work with them while you sleep.
Who has control of your mind, who has right-of-way? Self, devil, God or a mixture? How often can the Holy Spirit use your mind?
Listen to what Jesus is telling you: It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God (Matthew 4:4). You can shoot down the devil with the truth like Jesus did, with what is written. Only the truth of God will defeat him. If you reject the truth, you will not conquer, not be victorious over the devil. As long as you yield to God’s truth, you can conquer the devil every day you have left on Earth. Treasure the truth in your soul and you won’t sin against God. Keep the truth of God intact in your mind so that the Holy Ghost can make contact with you. If you don’t keep conformed to all the truths of God, the Holy Spirit cannot make contact with you or make adjustments in you. Through the truth of God He can make all the adjustments you need, but He must be able to use His truth. God’s truth always sets free. No bondage—not one speck—inhabits God’s truth. There are no leeches in God’s truth.
Wrong thinking brings wrong results. Live in God’s truth, and His truth will keep you free. The truth does not only set free, it keeps free. His truth will set you free of sicknesses; the truth heals, delivers. The truth holds liberty, freedom and eternal life. There is no death for the children of God in truth, only eternal life with Jesus. God’s truth is yours, embrace it at all times.
When you take care to live by the Word of God, you will be an overcomer. Never keep anything in your mind that doesn’t bless, doesn’t edify you spiritually. If thoughts don’t build you up, get rid of them. When nothing is in the mind for the devil to work with, you disarm him; but if you furnish him anything of the flesh, you give him ammunition to use against you.
The love of God, the Jesus love will take hostility and aggression out of your hand. Peter must have thought again and again how the love of Jesus took the sword out of his hand. That love has taken the wrong kind of sword out of many hands.
How often has love turned you around when you wanted to tell people how rotten you thought they were? Love took that weapon away from you. Love did it. When that love is in your soul, when your mind is open to it—even in a crisis—you will stop and yield momentarily, and that is enough for the Holy Spirit to take over. The Holy Spirit needs just a split second to get into your mind when your soul is right with God. The supply from Heaven must be in your soul. Be careful to have your soul right, covered with the blood of the Lamb.
All who are born again have the greatness of God in their souls, but not all have peace in their minds. If you block that flow of the Holy Spirit from your soul, then you run ahead of the Spirit, saying and doing things you later regret. Regret brings misery. Don’t furnish the devil tools to use against you.
How many times has the Holy Spirit tried to get through to you; how many times has He questioned what you were thinking? What ideas were you allowing that would cause you to be disobedient to your Lord?
Put the right things in your mind so you can use it the right way; open up and let truth flow into your mind. Many times you need to ask the Holy Spirit to flush your mind with living water.
If you have the Holy Ghost baptism, you have plenty of living water in your soul. Jesus said, He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water. (But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.) (John 7:38,39). The Holy Spirit uses the living water in your soul to flush your mind, the water of the Word of God, the water of life. Living water puts life into the mind cup and kills out all the death.
You need the flushings, the anointing again and again. A mind not cleansed will become as foul as a body never washed. Spiritually unwashed minds carry gossip, criticism, doubt and seek to unload those things on others. People who are right with God run from the stench of such a mind. No one has to tell you to move away from a terrible odor. When you see a skunk, you leave the area in a hurry.
Harness the mind with truth. If you don’t use your mind for good, the devil will use it for bad. Get rid of all the mistrust, the depression and let your mind be filled with the greatness of God. Some of you have depression in your mind. The Word is in your soul, but you won’t let the Holy Spirit flush out the despair so He can rush in and teach you the Word. He would teach you the reality of this scripture if you let Him: When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee (Isaiah 43:2). All of this will destroy depression no matter what you are going through. If you yield to the Holy Spirit, He will shoot the Word of God right into your mind, and the depression will be defeated.
Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you: But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ’s sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy (I Peter 4:12,13). The Lord gives us His Word to destroy depression and despair. The Lord has come to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he might be glorified (Isaiah 61:3).
Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort; Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God (II Corinthians 1:3,4). In all our tribulation God has comfort for us. If you accept it, it will destroy your depression. He will comfort you so you can comfort someone else. It’s wonderful to get the comfort of God moving you.
For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord (Romans 8:38,39). Being persuaded of the incredible power of God’s love takes all depression away.
If you need strength, open your mind cup and let the Word of God flow. My soul melteth for heaviness: strengthen thou me according unto thy word (Psalm 119:28). The Psalmist knew that the Word of God would strengthen him. Look to the Word.
That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man (Ephesians 3:16). The might of Jesus in the soul, the inner man, strengthens the mind cup. That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love (Ephesians 3:17). In your heart Jesus is rooted and grounded in love, love that the Holy Spirit seeks to flow into your mind cup. The spiritual things must all be rooted and grounded in love for you to keep them. To be spiritually minded is to have a mind of God’s love.
If you’re worried, read I Peter 5:7, Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you. Colossians 3:15, And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful. Philippians 4:19: But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus. Matthew 6:25-30,33, Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment? Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they? Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature? And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin: And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to-day is, and to-morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith? But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. The Word of God can take all the worry out of you as long as you yield your mind and soul to it. Through the truth, through Jesus Christ, God will supply His children.
What kind of mind do you have? What has been in your mind in the last seven days? Perhaps you emptied it out again and again, but what was in there? How long did you keep something in your mind that wasn’t right, wasn’t pure?
Guard your mind. Jesus is soon coming. The Rapture is just ahead; only the harvest of souls holds it back. In unbelievable ways the devil is fighting God’s people in an all-out effort to cause them to fail to win the souls God has marked for them to win. The devil will not give up as long as he can affect you. Again, and again he calls over the walls to people, trying to lure them out of the will of God. Don’t listen to him. Recognize the voice of your Lord, the love of Him. Walk in truth and righteousness, and you will be glad one day that you kept yourself so pure, so clean. Keep your cup empty of the flesh and filled with the Holy Spirit, overflowing daily, and you will grow in the Lord, a miraculous growth in this your final hour. God can’t help you unless you apply His promises to your life and keep them applied. Reach out for the Word, and after you take it, use it daily.
There may be some reading this who need to say the sinners’ prayer. Pray this prayer with me now: Oh, God: Save my soul! I am so lost! I don’t want a carnal mind. I want a spiritual mind, the mind of Jesus and nothing less. I believe as I confess all my sins, that the blood of Jesus washes away all my sins. Come on into my heart, Jesus, come on in!
If you meant that prayer, He has come; He is yours. Start walking and living in the Word of the living God.
You who are sick or afflicted, the Lord is the healer. Healing is promised in His Word; it is His will. If you have a child who is afflicted, let me pray with you now for whatever the need. I am not a healer; I am a believer. Jesus is the one who heals. The Bible says that He sent his word, and healed them (Psalm 107:20). Believe the healing promise in His Word: Lord, I bring the sick and afflicted to you. Lay a healing hand on them today; help them realize you are the same Jesus who walked the shores of Galilee and healed people of all manner of sicknesses and diseases. You never turned the little children away, but you said, Bring them to me. Oh, Lord, you healed the people then and you are healing them now. From your supernatural gift of miracles, your supernatural gifts of healing, through the power of the Holy Ghost and the name of Jesus it comes: Heal! in the holy, almighty name of the Lord.
The healing power is flowing. Don’t you feel His presence? That’s what heals the people. If you believed that prayer, His power went into your body or into your child’s body; it will work night and day to get you or your child well. If you doubt, you will be robbed. It’s faith that gives you Heaven’s results.
Write and tell me what happened to you today so I can rejoice with you. May God’s best be yours. Walk with God and God will walk with you.
The Lord is real. Ask God to empty your cup and refill it just in case there is something there not exactly right, just in case there could be a tiny speck of contamination, and the Holy Spirit will flow the living water to flush your mind of everything that hinders or might hinder. Put your trust in the living water to flush out the doubt, the fear, oppression and depression, everything foreign to God and His Spirit. Living water will flush out everything of the flesh, and your mind will be a spiritual mind, fit to be filled daily with all the good things of the Lord. Let the Holy Spirit shed abroad the love of God in your mind right now. God’s love will do it.
Thus saith the Lord: I have raised you up for this great hour. Do not fail me. I have many anointings to give you. I have special, special anointings to give you. I am giving you my mind sermons to prepare you to receive my great anointings, and unless you apply my mind sermons that I have given to my messenger—and will continue to give great things for you—you will not be able to receive and use my anointings. I am preparing you for the great pouring out of my anointings that you must have to do all that I want you to do.
You must not walk in the flesh at all; you must walk in the Spirit. Some of you are hindering your life because you don’t yield completely all the time. Your mind is not yielded all the time. And I cry to you through my Spirit: Listen to what my Spirit is saying, and open your mind and take a look and see what is in your mind daily. Do not allow anything in your mind that would contaminate or that would hinder you. Do not let any thoughts stay in your mind that would weaken you—and thoughts will weaken you if you embrace them—you must not. The hour is too late. I’m preparing a people to do my great work, to do a work that has never been done before. The hour is so very, very late for you. Trust me. Yield to me. Give yourself into my hands. I have great things for you, saith the Lord.
