What Do You Weigh on God’s Scales?
by Ernest Angley
February 2012
This message is for all children of God today, and its purpose is to determine what each one of you weighs on God’s scales. This has nothing to do with your physical weight; God weighs the soul. Will God be pleased with your spiritual weight or will He say to you as He did to King Belshazzar, Thou art weighed in the balances, and art found wanting (Daniel 5:27)?
Belshazzar was an evil king who was full of ego, but he was nothing in the eyes of God. One night during a great, wild party, he got drunk and commanded to bring the golden and silver vessels which his father Nebuchadnezzar had taken out of the temple which was in Jerusalem; that the king, and his princes, his wives, and his concubines, might drink therein. They drank wine, and praised the gods of gold, and of silver, of brass, of iron, of wood, and of stone (Daniel 5:2,4).
The people were drunk and praised all kinds of gods but the true and living God. Then something happened that sobered Belshazzar right away—a hand began writing on the wall over by the candlestick. In the same hour came forth fingers of a man’s hand, and wrote over against the candlestick upon the plaster of the wall of the king’s palace: and the king saw the part of the hand that wrote. Then the king’s countenance was changed, and his thoughts troubled him, so that the joints of his loins were loosed, and his knees smote one against another (Daniel 5:5,6). It was the hand of Almighty God writing his final destiny, and his knees began to shake with fear.
Belshazzar Knew the Truth
Belshazzar knew better than to do all the sinful things he had done because his father, King Nebuchadnezzar, had failed God to such an extent that the Lord had removed his heart and replaced it with the heart of a beast. For seven years, the Lord caused Nebuchadnezzar to lose his mind and eat grass like an ox.
There fell a voice from heaven, saying, O king Nebuchadnezzar, to thee it is spoken; The kingdom is departed from thee. And they shall drive thee from men, and thy dwelling shall be with the beasts of the field: they shall make thee to eat grass as oxen, and seven times shall pass over thee, until thou know that the most High ruleth in the kingdom of men…And at the end of the days I Nebuchadnezzar lifted up mine eyes unto heaven, and mine understanding returned unto me, and I blessed the most High, and I praised and honoured him that liveth forever, whose dominion is an everlasting dominion, and his kingdom is from generation to generation (Daniel 4:31,32,34).
King Nebuchadnezzar finally humbled himself before the Lord; and when he came to himself, he really honored God. However, Belshazzar didn’t take a lesson from what Nebuchadnezzar had gone through. The same day that Belshazzar received the message from the Lord through the handwriting on the wall, he died. God had finally had enough of his evil ways, and He killed him.
Today, God is writing many people off who may never see another sunrise. Before this day is over, they’ll lift up their eyes in hell and scream the scream of the damned for all eternity.
How Much Faith Do You Have?
You can’t afford to be like King Belshazzar, so step on God’s scales of love today and see where you stand in divinity. The Lord wants you to examine your spiritual weight in four different things, and the first one is faith. What is faith? It’s accepting everything that God has said in His Word. Jesus brought all the faith we need, so you don’t have to struggle with doubt and unbelief. The devil will try to torment you with doubt, fear and frustration; but you must know that he’s a liar. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it (John 8:44). When someone lies to you, you’ll say, “I’m never going to believe that person again!” Well, I wish you’d wake up and feel that way about the devil.
Some Christians claim, “I don’t have any faith”; but without faith, they never would have found Calvary. The Lord has given every child of God a measure of faith. God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith (Romans 12:3). Faith is given by measures; and when you use each measure, God will give you another measure and another measure; and so it will continue.
Thomas didn’t use the faith he was given, and I’m sure he never accomplished much for the Lord or it would have been recorded in the Bible. He failed the Lord and then boasted about it saying, Except I shall see in his hands the print of the nails, and put my finger into the print of the nails, and thrust my hand into his side, I will not believe (John 20:25).
When Jesus appeared to the disciples eight days later, He told Thomas, Reach hither thy finger, and behold my hands; and reach hither thy hand, and thrust it into my side: and be not faithless, but believing (John 20:27). Let that word “faithless” sink in—that’s the kind of faith that doesn’t stay on top of the water but rather causes you to drown. It will take the very heart of God out of you and rob you of nearly every prayer you pray.
Do you have to see to believe the things of God? Or are you like the Psalmist who said, I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living (Psalm 27:13)? The Psalmist believed to see, and that’s why he saw so much.
Your Faith Will Be Tried
The Bible says, Ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints (Jude 1:3). You will find a lot of those saints in the eleventh chapter of Hebrews, and you can read about the overcoming faith they had. Have you ever fasted for seven, twenty-one or even forty days to get that faith? If not, it’s worth it; but be prepared to fight many devils to receive it. I had to do that, and you will, too; but you’ll be glad when you come out victorious.
Job had that kind of faith; and the Lord thought so highly of him that He said, Hast thou considered my servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and escheweth evil (Job 1:8)? When you live close to God, He will put you right up in front of the devil because the devil is forever trying to torment God by bringing up people who fail Him. When God finds those who will really stand for Him, He uses them as examples of what the divine blood and divinity can do in the life of a true child of God.
Job’s faith was tried, and yours will be, too; but how do you act when your faith is tried? Does it stand the test? Peter’s faith was tried one night in a storm; and he said, Lord, if it be thou, bid me come unto thee on the water. And he [Jesus] said, Come. And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus (Matthew 14:28,29). The Bible says that Peter actually walked on the water. That’s something you should really think about. Then Peter saw a big wave coming and listened to what the devil had to say, and he began to sink. You must have enough faith to turn a deaf ear to anything the devil tries to tell you.
Jesus dictated seven letters to John the Revelator on the Isle of Patmos; and in each one He said, He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches (Revelation 2:7,11,17,29; 3:6,13,22). Don’t listen to the devil or to the criticism, doubt and fear of people. Have an ear that listens only to the faith of God.
Divine faith will move any mountain and heal any sickness or disease. The Lord said, These signs shall follow them that believe…they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover (Mark 16:17,18). “Shall recover” means that they absolutely will get well, but some people will get hands laid on them and then let doubt creep in as soon as the prayer is over. That shouldn’t be. People must let God’s miracles manifest themselves. In the Word, God promises miracles to believers; and the promises of God will never fail spiritually, physically or financially as long as the conditions of each one are met.
Jesus said, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you (Matthew 17:20). It’s been said that the mustard seed is the smallest seed on Earth; and because Jesus knew that, He used it here to show that even a tiny bit of faith will work.
Without faith, the Bible says it’s impossible to please God. But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him (Hebrews 11:6). The word “diligently” means that you have to seek Him with all of your heart, but your heart must first belong to Him. When you have Jesus on the inside, you have the whole heart of God; and He will work in you through the power of the Holy Spirit.
Only Bible Faith Works
How much divine faith—not human faith—do you have? If you don’t weigh in with good faith today, you must seek the Lord for more. We take vitamins to help our physical bodies, but all of these things you’re reading about are vitamins for the soul. Jesus brought divinity for the souls of all mankind throughout the whole Earth, and you need divine vitamins for strength and help.
Test your faith with the Word of God; you either have it or you don’t. Do you believe that God created man and woman out of the dust of the Earth and that He intended for them to live forever? Do you believe the Lord came down in the cool of the day to walk and talk with them as one man talks to another? Do you believe that Noah built the ark? If you believe the book of Genesis, you’ll have no trouble with Exodus, Leviticus and right on through to Revelation. After you read through the whole Bible, ask yourself, “Do I believe it all?” If so, then you will have all the faith you’ll ever need for eternity.
I believe whatever is in the Word. It’s my faith, and it must be your faith, too. If you have true, divine faith, you have faith that will do wonderful things for the Lord; and that kind of faith gets results. Human faith doesn’t work because it’s like a rubber band—it stretches just so far, and then it breaks. But you can stretch divine faith forever, and it will never break or even get weak.
The Bible says, But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord (James 1:6,7). If you let your faith waver, you won’t receive anything from God; so never blame God for not moving if you let your faith waver.
You Must Be Born Again
Divine faith tells you that you can be born again, live free from sin and be re-created into the image of God. Adam and Eve were made in the image of God; but after they sinned, all people were born outside Eden without God’s image and were in need of a Savior. Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me (Psalm 51:5).
People have to be born again, but Nicodemus didn’t understand that until Jesus opened up his understanding and turned on the light for him. There was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews: The same came to Jesus by night, and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him. Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother’s womb, and be born? Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again (John 3:1-7). I’m sure Nicodemus became a good, godly man after this meeting with Jesus.
You must have faith to be born again and to be resurrected into righteousness and holiness. And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins (Ephesians 2:1). You receive that resurrection when you’re born new; and then through faith, you believe you have the image of God. Having that image means that when He looks at you, He sees Himself just as you see your reflection in a mirror. But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord (II Corinthians 3:18).
You can’t go to Heaven without having the image of God and divine faith, and divine faith is working faith. But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead? For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also (James 2:20,26). Dead faith won’t work for God or get anywhere with Him. God cannot use dead faith.
Jesus, the Word, came to Earth in the fashion of a man to be our Redeemer Kinsman so we can live and work for Him. And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth (John 1:14). It takes great faith to believe this, but what are you going to do with that kind of faith? I’m using it to evangelize the world and to bless everybody I come in contact with. I want people to see Jesus and His divine faith in every one of my services.
No Sin in Heaven
God means business in this hour, and He’s going to separate people from sin and unrighteousness. You who are playing with sin had better quit deceiving your heart because you’re not going to God’s Heaven. Sin destroys the soul, and that was the first message God gave to Adam and Eve. And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die (Genesis 2:16,17). In Ezekiel, the Bible says, The soul that sinneth, it shall die (Ezekiel 18:4).
If you think you can sin, then how many sins can you commit and still go to Heaven? The answer is none. What kind of sins do you think you can commit and still go to Heaven? Again, the answer is none. Unfortunately, most preachers today believe that everybody sins. Why?—because most of them are sinning, so they think everybody else sins, too. God’s people do not sin; they live holy and free from the devil’s bondage. If people could get into Heaven with any sin, then Jesus never would have come.
When Jesus cried to the Father from the Cross, It is finished (John 19:30), He meant that the plan of redemption had been finished. There was no longer a veil in the temple. And Jesus cried with a loud voice, and gave up the ghost. And the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom (Mark 15:37,38). The veil was rent from top to bottom, not from bottom to top as it normally would have been. Why?—because God did it. Then the message went forth, “Whosoever will, let him come.” And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely (Revelation 22:17). Both Jews and Gentiles were welcome. The price had been paid, and everybody could get a passport to that heavenly place called Glory. Jesus brought only divinity, and His divine blood can belong to all those who will ask for it and believe for it.
You Must Have Divine Love
The next thing God wants to weigh you on is your love. Faith alone will not save you; you have to have divine love to go with it. For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision; but faith which worketh by love (Galatians 5:6). Without love, the Bible tells us we’re nothing. Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity [love], I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal. And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity [love], I am nothing (I Corinthians 13:1,2).
How much love do you have—not human love but divine love? Human love is fragile, and it fails; you can’t trust it. When people die, their human love dies with them. If they died in the Lord, the only way that you’ll see them again is to be born again through God’s faith and love. The Bible tells you that you have to do the will of God, please Him in all things and keep His love commandments. If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father’s commandments, and abide in his love (John 15:10). If you don’t have divine love, you won’t keep the love commandments of Jesus.
Courage to Proclaim the Gospel
After love comes divine courage, and how much do you weigh in using that kind of courage? Do you have on the whole armor of God? Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God (Ephesians 6:13-17).
You need the armor of God to be able to fight the devil and to stand as tall as Jesus. Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ (Ephesians 4:13). We all must come into the unity and the divinity that Jesus brought. When people come into the unity of the faith, God can do marvelous things!
The Lord was able to bring me into His unity when He saved me because I left the whole world behind and surrendered everything to God that night. I burnt all of my bridges to never look back, and I took on His courage and holy boldness. I boldly declared His Gospel because the Lord gifted me with preaching even before I saw the inside of a theological school, and I loved it. The Lord would take me into a cloud of His glory; and people said that I preached like a seasoned preacher, not like a young novice.
When I preached my very first sermon, I wasn’t intending to preach at all. I was just going to read a few verses of scripture in a prayer meeting; but when I did, a voice said, “Look up!” Then I went into a cloud of glory, and I preached like a house on fire. After I had finished and sat down, the voice said, “That’s your first sermon”; and I’ve been preaching ever since.
I’m God’s Preacher
Most preachers retire, but I could never do that. There’s nothing that makes me happier than preaching and teaching the Word to people. I can preach one-on-one just like Jesus did or to thousands. Even in my dreams, I’m preaching or getting ready to preach. It’s a part of me, and I was born to do it.
I love lost souls, and I’d like to preach to the whole world day and night telling them that Jesus saves, heals and will fill them with the good Holy Ghost, the power from On High that gives them the courage to stand. And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you forever; Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you (John 14:16,17).
I delight in God’s Word; and in it, Jesus said, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God (Matthew 4:4). I have a great appetite for God and His Word; and I’m always seeking for more of His knowledge, wisdom and truth. I want it to flow like rivers of water into my innermost being and then flow out from me to the people. He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water (John 7:38).
Stand for the Truth
Divine courage brings holy boldness. Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need (Hebrews 4:16). When the disciples were being severely persecuted in the beginning of the Church, they prayed for and received holy boldness. And now, Lord, behold their threatenings: and grant unto thy servants, that with all boldness they may speak thy word, By stretching forth thine hand to heal; and that signs and wonders may be done by the name of thy holy child Jesus. And when they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled together; and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they spake the word of God with boldness (Acts 4:29-31). Boldness is the courage that each child of God must have.
Stephen was the first martyr; and even though he was young, he could really preach. I never get tired of reading his farewell sermon; and in it, he really scorched the hides of those sinful people. He knew his life was on the line, but he wasn’t afraid. There was a guy in the crowd that day named Saul; and although he didn’t stone Stephen himself, he witnessed against him and encouraged others to kill him. As Stephen was dying, Saul got something he didn’t bargain for when he heard Stephen say, Behold, I see the heavens opened, and the Son of man standing on the right hand of God (Acts 7:56). The heavens opened up; and Stephen died just like Jesus did saying, Lord, lay not this sin to their charge (Acts 7:60). Saul stood there helpless, and I’m sure he could never get away from the memory of Stephen’s death. He probably woke up in a cold sweat night after night hearing Stephen’s dying words.
Shortly after that, the Lord began dealing with Saul. And as he journeyed, he came near Damascus: and suddenly there shined round about him a light from heaven: And he fell to the earth, and heard a voice saying unto him, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me? And he said, Who art thou, Lord? And the Lord said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest (Acts 9:3-5). Saul never refuted the Lord’s words but rather accepted them, and he was glad to find Jesus.
Saul got up from the ground blind and remained that way for a few days until God spoke to Ananias and told him to go to where Saul was and to pray for him to receive the Holy Ghost. Ananias…entered into the house; and putting his hands on him said, Brother Saul, the Lord, even Jesus, that appeared unto thee in the way as thou camest, hath sent me, that thou mightest receive thy sight, and be filled with the Holy Ghost. And immediately there fell from his eyes as it had been scales: and he received sight forthwith, and arose, and was baptized (Acts 9:17,18).
Saul became a new man, and the Lord changed his name to Paul. Paul never saw Jesus in the flesh, but he knew more about Jesus than any of the other apostles because the Holy Ghost had taught him. The Lord has used Paul as an example to bring me to where I am today because I would have never thought myself worthy to receive any one of the nine gifts of the Spirit.
Let the Lord Use You
God divides the gifts as He chooses, and He chooses only a very few special people to receive them because most won’t pay the price for even one gift let alone all nine. The Lord gave me the first interpretation of a Holy Ghost message in the second revival that I conducted. A saint of God gave out a message; and miraculously, I understood what was being said in English even though the person was speaking in a language that I didn’t understand. I hesitated and wouldn’t give the interpretation at first; but then a woman close to me gave the first half of the message, and I gave the second half. I knew I had received it from God.
It’s something to know what the Holy Spirit is saying. He was sent here to glorify Jesus; and when a person is baptized in the Holy Ghost, the first thing the Holy Ghost will usually do is glorify Jesus. Jesus didn’t glorify Himself when He was on Earth because He had been sent to glorify the Father saying, He that hath seen me hath seen the Father (John 14:9). Jesus was persecuted much for this statement, but He had divine courage and holy boldness.
Jesus never let persecutions stop Him, and neither did the Early Church; but do you let persecutions of any kind stop you? Jesus told us that our main foes would be members of our own households, and some of you are greatly persecuted by relatives. And a man’s foes shall be they of his own household (Matthew 10:36). Some of your unsaved family members don’t want anything to do with you; and I say, “Hallelujah!” If any of my unsaved kin don’t want anything to do with me, I just praise God; and I’m glad to be free of them.
You Must Separate
You can’t let the devil keep you from the joy of the Lord, but he’ll try to use your family members to do just that. If you have some kin who always want to run down your experience in the Lord, stay away from them; and don’t worry about what others say or think about it. If you have to attend a family funeral, don’t let them corner you and put down your God. Simply say, “I’m not here to talk about that; I’m here to honor the dead.” Don’t argue with people. Show them the dignity of Jesus and divine love; and if they don’t accept you as a child of God, then it’s not your fault. Just go on your way and don’t bother with them no matter how closely related they are.
When my mother and dad separated from their church that didn’t believe in the Holy Ghost and began attending a Pentecostal one, many of their family members turned against them; but that didn’t stop them, and Mama eventually won a lot of her family to the truth. Sure, they would criticize her; but when they were in trouble, they always wanted Mama to pray for them. We never missed our kin because we found God’s people to be the most wonderful people in the whole world. We had the truth, and we were happy and free just like Jesus had said we would be. And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free (John 8:32).
Only the free will make it to Glory, and those who are on their way there should be the happiest people in the world. The Bible says, The joy of the LORD is your strength (Nehemiah 8:10). Do you think I’m going to let the devil make me unhappy when the joy of the Lord is my strength? That means that His joy is also my courage to stand up against the powers of the devil. You never have to be afraid when you have the truth and live in it.
Work for God
It’s not enough to have faith, love and courage; you have to have works to go with them. What kind of works do you have? James wrote as the Holy Ghost gave it to him that faith without works is dead. Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone. Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works (James 2:17,18). As I already said, dead faith produces dead works; and those don’t make you a soul winner.
The Lord wants us to go on into perfection as Paul wrote: Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection (Hebrews 6:1). And Jesus said, Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect (Matthew 5:48). He also said, I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work (John 9:4). The night is coming fast, and we have only a limited number of days left to work.
The Lord gives us the power to be perfect in Him and to do His works, and that power works through us. He gave the twelve disciples power and told them to go forth to heal the sick and cast out devils. And when he [Jesus] had called unto him his twelve disciples, he gave them power against unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all manner of sickness and all manner of disease (Matthew 10:1).
Then He gave that same power to the seventy laypeople and sent them forth. And the seventy returned again with joy, saying, Lord, even the devils are subject unto us through thy name. And he said unto them…rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven (Luke 10:17,18,20). Your name can only be written in the Lamb’s Book of Life with the divine blood that was spilled on Calvary.
Jesus Is Our Ark
When the ark was finished in Noah’s day and all of the people and the animals were safely on board, the door was not closed for seven days. And the LORD said unto Noah, Come thou and all thy house into the ark; for thee have I seen righteous before me in this generation. For yet seven days, and I will cause it to rain upon the earth forty days and forty nights; and every living substance that I have made will I destroy from off the face of the earth. And it came to pass after seven days, that the waters of the flood were upon the earth (Genesis 7:1,4,10). Those seven days were days of grace, but nobody crossed the threshold to join Noah’s family on the ark.
During the 120 years that the ark was being built, I’m sure Noah and his family were the center of attention. People probably thought they were all idiots as they worked day and night to build an ark that their persecutors thought would never float. If you had been there, what would you have thought?
Noah preached for all of those years and never got one soul saved, so we have no reason to get discouraged when the Lord is helping us to win thousands of souls. True children of God are soul winners, and we don’t have to build an ark. Jesus is our Ark; and His commission is, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature (Mark 16:15). We must build the Lord’s Kingdom and get as many souls as we can into the Ark—Jesus.
Noah’s ark was built by the hands of human beings, but our Ark is divine. When we made it all the way to Calvary, we found our Ark in just a matter of moments; and Jesus was our door to safety. I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture (John 10:9). There is no life without that Ark. He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him (John 3:36).
Live in Divinity
You have to learn everything you can about Jesus, but how much have you studied Him? I’m always studying Him because I want to be just like Him. I want to have His same characteristics and traits, His same faith and love. I want to have His same courage and do His same works. He said, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father (John 14:12).
You can see that it takes more than faith to go to Heaven. You must have love to use that faith, and you must have courage to use that love and to abide in it. If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you (John 15:7). You have to have courage to live holy and to stand for the righteousness of God or you’ll end up like Lot’s wife, and the Bible plainly tells us to remember Lot’s wife (Luke 17:32).
Lot, his wife and two daughters were told not to look back as they fled Sodom and Gomorrah; but his wife did, and she was turned into a pillar of salt. We can’t afford to ever look back; and when your sins are all gone, there’s nothing back there anyway. Only with Jesus can you have it all. Peter said we should be bubbling over with joy unspeakable and full of glory (I Peter 1:8).
Faith, love, courage and the works of Jesus bring about all the divinity you will ever need and more than you could ever use. We must live through the divinity made available by the divine blood. There’s no life without that divine blood; and if you have that blood in your soul, the devil can’t get in. He can try to torment you in your mind, but the Lord has given you power over him. For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind (II Timothy 1:7).
Use Faith and Truth
This message should help you who are true children of God realize how much faith you really have…but are you using it? Some of you depend more on the faith of ministers or others than you do on your own faith. My family used their faith, and we had miracles in our home; we didn’t have to seek for them somewhere else. Once my mother, dad and two oldest sisters found the divine love, divine grace, divine faith and divine courage to stand up against all the powers of the devil, wonderful things took place. They studied the Word, and they knew truth.
The Psalmist said he hid the truth in his heart. Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee (Psalm 119:11). Proverbs tells us that it will bring health to your body. My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings. For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh (Proverbs 4:20,22).
When you pick up the Holy Word, you’re picking up God and Jesus. Then you must have the Holy Ghost as your teacher living and dwelling on the inside of you, and you’ll have nothing to fear. We’re going to take our flight real soon, Children, and our lives are all planned. When we walk in the will of God, we’ll not die until the Lord wills it to be; and there’s no need to ever fear the will of God. You must never walk or live in fear, only in the divine courage that Jesus had; and you must never misjudge yourself and think you’re nobody. If you have the divinity of Jesus within, you’re not an empty shell; you’re filled to the brim, and you’ll be happy with your spiritual weight.
You Must Have Divine Reality
God is weighing you on His scales of compassion, love and grace. We who are members of the bridal company have all of the favor of Heaven we need, all of the help we can use and all of our needs supplied; and nothing can defeat us. The devil would have to defeat all of Heaven before he could defeat us because there are billions of angels who would fight for us if necessary. I watch angels battle the powers of the devil in all of my crusades as they come in and hold back the powers of darkness.
There is an angel of the Lord who always stands by my side when I’m teaching or preaching, and I never pray for the sick in a healing line without the angel being there. He stands as tall as a man; and he’s so real to me that at times when I whirl around, I feel like saying, “Excuse me” because it’s as if a human is standing right there.
You can have angel help in this last hour if you’re an heir of salvation. Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation (Hebrews 1:14)? At times, I get so tired from working and ministering; but all the angel of the Lord has to do is reach out and touch me, and my strength is renewed. It’s so powerful at times that I won’t even know the end of my strength. If you will let the Word be real to you, then angels will become real. Some people are lightweights and just talk a lot about such things, but they have no reality.
Watch Your Tongue
If you have a long tongue and talk too much, you don’t weigh anything on God’s scales. Divine love and divine faith won’t mix with a long tongue, and you can’t even have salvation if you have a tongue that talks too much.
You can’t argue in your home or with your companion; and if you do, you have to quit. Angel and I never argued let alone fought. The Bible says, Can two walk together, except they be agreed (Amos 3:3)? I never thought of making Angel cry; she was too precious to me. I only wanted to dry her tears, and I resented anybody who would hurt her. If your companion wants to argue, don’t argue back or you will be left. The Lord said, I tell you, in that night there shall be two men in one bed; the one shall be taken, and the other shall be left (Luke 17:34).
If you don’t control your tongue, the Lord said you have no salvation. If any man among you seem to be religious, and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man’s religion is vain (James 1:26). The Bible says that our conversation should be the same as it is in Heaven. For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ (Philippians 3:20). What do you think they’re talking about in Heaven today? I’m sure lost souls are the main subject.
I fear for some of you who think you don’t gossip. If people would say the same things about you that you say about others, you’d be very upset. You must take heed and get your mind adjusted so you won’t think or say bad things about others. Paul told us six things the Lord wants us to think on, and they’re all divine. Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things (Philippians 4:8).
The Lord’s ways are not our ways. The Lord tells us through the great prophet Isaiah, For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts (Isaiah 55:9). I go God’s way and use His thoughts, and they always bring me into the greatness of God.
Shine the Divine Light
True saints of God today are obedient. They’re ready for the one flight out, and they’re bringing in the harvest. This ministry is doing that, and we have the works to prove it. We’ve won untold thousands for the Lord, and we’re continuing to work to build His Kingdom. We pay no attention to dead preachers and dead churches; we let the dead bury the dead and go on our way. We have no time to debate with people because we’re too busy spreading the Word to hungry hearts and lighting up the way for those who are in darkness and want to see.
When we travel to other countries, our workers meet people who are ready to see; and they want us to turn on the light. When we give them a Bible, some will hug it to their hearts while others will stand there on the street crying because they’ve never owned a Bible before. They have received something that’s more precious than gold—the Word of God.
When we talk to people, they want what we have because they see and hear God’s love. By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another (John 13:35). They hear the voice of miracles coming in like a fresh shower of rain when the Earth has been dry for a long time, and they lift up their hearts to receive. Then we help lift up their souls before God, and His hand comes upon them and shines divine light into the dark places of their innermost beings. That light brings knowledge, and they want to know what we found at Calvary. We tell them our experiences in all love; and we give them anointed books, magazines and tracts from this ministry free of charge.
Many people in underprivileged nations don’t have enough money to buy decent clothes or food, but we make sure they have the truth; and we’re winning them by the thousands. I’m sure the angels rejoice over every soul we bring in, and we’re giving them a lot to shout about.
The Lord gave me a vision one time of a great hole up in Heaven; and people, not angels, were looking down to Earth through it. They weren’t dressed like angels either; they were dressed like Earth people, and there were three rows of them all gathered around this huge hole. I don’t know how often those saints actually get to look down to Earth, but I do know that they hear about the souls we’re bringing in. I also know that many of them are at the gate of Heaven to welcome a child of God home. Heaven is a real place—my faith and love for God tell me so, and my courage keeps me pressing on toward it.
Persecuted for Christ’s Sake
It won’t be very long until we’ll all be home, but we’ll be persecuted along the way just as Jesus told us we would be. Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you (John 15:20).
Angel and I were really persecuted when we arrived in Akron, Ohio to establish this work. It seemed that all hell boiled over; and most of our persecutors were so-called preachers and other Christians, not sinners. But the Lord gave us divine love, divine faith and divine courage; and we built this work on God’s miracles. People could criticize and say whatever they wanted to say, but we went on. Some preachers even said that I’d lost my mind because I had spent so much time with God in fasting and prayer; but the Lord said, Howbeit this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting (Matthew 17:21).
Don’t listen to people who tell you that you’re not living in the truth, and never let the devil convince you that you’re not free. If you’re free, you must know it; but if your spirit is bound, there’s something wrong, and you must find out what it is. The Lord loves you, and He’s giving everyone a chance.
After reading this message, some of you may be shocked to find out how much or how little you weigh in God. If you’re underweight and need to make some changes, turn to the Lord because He has all the spiritual help you need to give you Heaven’s faith, Heaven’s love, Heaven’s courage, Heaven’s strength and Heaven’s works.
You Can Be Free
I’m free today, and God’s scales confirm that I am. Jesus brought His divine blood and His wonderful name; and in His divine liberty, we can all be free to do His works and use His name. Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved (Acts 4:12). Only through that name can you have miracles and healings. When I speak the name of Jesus, the blind cry, “I can see!” I speak that name, and I’ve watched paralyzed people be made instantly whole right before my eyes. Cripples get up and walk because God is moving!
In a recent crusade, a fourteen-year-old boy received a fantastic miracle. He was paralyzed from his waist down and had to be carried into the service. He couldn’t walk at all; but during the service, the Spirit of God moved on me to turn to the people in the invalid section where he was and say, “Get up from there and walk!” That boy got up and walked just as if there had never been anything wrong with him! The paralysis left him in a moment, and it was over with.
Thank God for Jesus today, and thank God for His spiritual scales. Did God find divinity in you? You can only live forever in divinity, and you don’t need to add anything to something that’s eternal. You won’t have any more life when you get to Heaven than you have right now, so you must live pure and clean and free from all sin if you want to keep that eternal life. You have to be like Jesus or there will be no eternal life for you. Whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die (John 11:26).
If you don’t have that promise of eternal life, there’s help for you. It may be gone tomorrow, but today you can still have it. If you want that life and you want to weigh heavy on God’s scales, say the sinners’ prayer right now.
Oh, God, save my soul. I don’t want to go to hell. I’m so sorry that I have failed you and sinned against you, but I’ve come out of the dark and into the light of your righteousness and holiness. I believe in the divine blood that you brought to Earth and shed on Calvary for my soul to be saved. Forgive me, Lord. I believe the blood of Jesus washes away all of my sins. Come into my heart, Jesus! Come on in!
If you meant that prayer, you now can say, Hallelujah, Jesus is mine! I’m a believer! Weigh me, Lord, and you’ll find nothing but righteousness and holiness!
Be Made Whole
Now, the Lord’s healing power is available to you. Do you believe that you can be made well? You can’t just believe it; you have to will it. You had to will to receive salvation, meaning you had to want it. You had to want your soul to be washed with the blood of the Lamb and to be rid of all of your sins.
Study the miracles of Jesus in the New Testament. Every one of them was for a purpose, and they were so simple. For she [the woman with the issue of blood] said within herself, If I may but touch his garment, I shall be whole. But Jesus turned him about, and when he saw her, he said, Daughter, be of good comfort; thy faith hath made thee whole. And the woman was made whole from that hour (Matthew 9:21,22). When you’re sick and afflicted, you don’t have to talk to Jesus; just reach out to Him knowing that His power is within your reach through your faithfulness.
When you use divine faith, you can say like Jesus did, Father, I thank thee that thou hast heard me. And I knew that thou hearest me always (John 11:41,42). I know that the Lord is always listening to me at any time, day or night. He never sleeps or even nods, and He has given us the Holy Spirit to work on us while we sleep. If you turn everything over to the Lord before you go to sleep and give the Holy Spirit all liberty, you’ll be surprised at what happens. Let Him work on you to help you get rid of every sickness.
Faith in God heals the sick. Are you ready to be healed? Thousands have been healed of AIDS through this Jesus ministry, and we’re getting those miracles documented to prove to the world that they’re real. Whole families have been healed, and we have the testimonies to prove it. That shows that you can be healed of any disease.
Lord, I bring those with HIV/AIDS, diabetes, cancer or any internal troubles to you. I bring those with blindness, deafness and arthritis, those with leprosy, heart trouble, paralysis and deformities of all kinds. You can even make deformed children whole. Heal! in the blood-name of Jesus. Heal! in the all-powerful blood-name. That power is going into your bodies if you believe. Feel the power of God right now moving to drive out all of your diseases. Get well and then write and tell me what happened to you today, and I will rejoice with you.
Always remember that the Lord must get all the glory. You must give Him the glory for every miracle and healing. I never take any of God’s glory because I know that He is the Healer, and I am just His witness. Thank God for the healing Christ. We will continue to give Him glory and honor for all time and eternity.
