We Hold Souls in Our Hands
by Ernest Angley
May 2015
Each day, the Bride of Christ holds thousands of souls in her hands. If you are a member of the bridal company, how careful are you with those souls? How often do you think about them, and how alert are you to them? Do you feel the need of the blood of Jesus flowing for those souls? Do you have the tears of Calvary flowing from your very heart’s center for them?
For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul (Mark 8:36,37)? These verses bring before us the value of souls, and they are the Bride’s business just as they are the Lord’s business because the Bride is a part of the body of Jesus Christ. For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones (Ephesians 5:30).
What price are you willing to pay to save lost souls? Even if you have to give your very life, it will be a small price to pay in exchange for souls receiving eternal life; souls are just that precious.
What kind of hands will hold lost souls?—those of God’s true children because they are responsible for the lost throughout the Earth. When you have Jesus in your heart, you will take on that responsibility if you are a true disciple of Christ and have a close relationship with Him. When you walk hand in hand with Him every day, your first responsibility becomes souls.
What kind of hands did Jesus use to reach out for souls? He had hands of love, compassion and sacrifice, hands that longed for humanity to be born new. Jesus had hands of amazing grace; and they were tender, watchful, caring, nail-riven hands. Some people would not accept those hands that longed to bring souls into His bosom, but others were so overcome with His love when they realized those nail-riven hands had been stretched out on a tree for them that they surrendered. Then Jesus wrote their names in the Book of Life in His precious blood.
Our Greatest Responsibility
The Bride must represent Jesus Christ today; but to do that, we must know that our calling and greatest responsibility are souls. God has entrusted us with His very heart, and our task is so important that He promised to never leave us. For he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee (Hebrews 13:5).
We can never afford to let souls slip through our fingers; but many are slipping away today that would not be lost if there were more hands with the love, compassion and sacrificial spirit of Jesus, hands with His amazing grace, His tender spirit and His watchful, caring ways.
If you are obedient to the Lord, you will become His hands in this awful world today; but it is terrible how many hands have become marred with disobedience. Such hands are not beautiful like the Lord’s; and they are not filled with God’s love, grace and faith. There are people who claim to be church-attending Christians, yet they don’t have the kind of hands that reach for souls; and many people are dying lost because of it.
Only holy hands can hold souls, and you must lift them up in service to the Lord. I will therefore that men pray everywhere, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting (I Timothy 2:8). If you don’t have holy, obedient hands of faith or the true, Gospel-trusting hands of Jesus, souls will slip through your fingers and plunge into hell. What a responsibility!
In this last hour, the Bride must have hands just like the hands of Jesus. Study what His hands of clay did and the touch of Heaven they gave. For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps (I Peter 2:21).
When Jesus was on Earth in the form of flesh, He had hands of clay like ours; but the divine Spirit and divine blood flowed on the inside of Him. If you are a child of God, you have that same divine blood in your soul. Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature (II Peter 1:4). With divine blood in your soul, you can be a soul winner.
Are You Careful with Souls?
What kind of hands do you have today? Are they hands that spread nothing but glad tidings of the Gospel and serve people the truth? Are they obedient, trustworthy hands that serve the Master? Every muscle and nerve that operates your hands must flow with God’s Spirit, power and love and be alert to the fact that souls are so precious and valuable.
If you were to carry a fragile, priceless vase, you would do it almost breathlessly. You would lay everything aside and let nothing or no one get your attention so you could focus on the great valuable you were carrying. You would make sure there was nothing in your way to stumble over because you would know that if it were to slip through your fingers, it would shatter; and all would be lost.
Are you that careful with souls, or are you indifferent? Do you treat souls as though they are worthless in comparison to how you treat worldly treasures? Many of God’s people carry souls that are more valuable than all the riches in the world, yet they never watch where they are going. They carelessly allow themselves to be drawn to the world, so they could easily trip and drop their precious treasure of souls.
The things of the world are not eternal, but souls are; and the Lord has said that if His children fail, multitudes will die and go to hell for all eternity. You must understand the great responsibility you have and know that it is not just your own family that is at stake; it is lost humanity throughout the whole world. If you are a member of the body of Christ, you cannot fail no matter how you feel. You can never give over to self or your feelings, and you must walk in God’s faith all the way.
Carry God’s Anointing
So many people in the world today want nothing to do with God, so we must go forth with God’s message flowing in our hearts as we reach for souls with all patience and love. You cannot veer to the left or to the right or consider the hour of the day or night. You must be willing to wake up at any hour to cry out for the multitudes of lost souls you carry.
When you carry lost humanity, you will go out into the highways and byways to gather souls with love and to compel them to come into the Kingdom. The Lord said, Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled (Luke 14:23).
Members of the bridal company must be the ones to say, “Come, and I will take you to my Father’s house; and He will be your Father, too.” We must reach out with Christ’s hands of faith and compassion and point them to the One who died for them on a cruel Cross. Then we must carry them right to Calvary and place them at the Lord’s precious feet crying, “Jesus, save every one of them! We have been so careful to use your Gospel to bring them to you, Lord, and we don’t want one to be lost. We have not counted our own lives dear; and we have kept our eyes on your footsteps and on souls, letting nothing take us away from bringing souls to you.”
All of the Bride’s attention must be centered on souls. They must be her heart and her life because they are God’s heart. Her hands must carry the anointing of God to break the yokes that hold souls in the devil’s bondage and to set the captives free. And the yoke shall be destroyed because of the anointing (Isaiah 10:27).
Only certain kinds of people can carry souls in their hands with God’s anointing and not let them be destroyed; so unfortunately, not everyone will carry God’s anointing. Danger awaits those who move out of the Lord’s footsteps because they can lose their balance and stumble, and soon they will be going every way but the straight and narrow way.
We who are members of the Bride of Christ must feel our responsibility night and day, so we must be very careful with our lives and do all we can not to stumble or fall. We must make sure that we give only the Lord’s message of truth without passing on gossip or speaking harmful things. We can never talk about our brothers or sisters in Christ or cause them to turn away, and we must speak only things that edify without grumbling or complaining.
We must share only Jesus’ story, not ours, as we tell people, “Jesus never fails. He loves you; He died for you, and He will do anything for you.” We must know what we carry and that we can destroy our anointing as well as souls if we do not walk like Jesus.
Put Souls First
Examine your hands today. Are they careless, unconcerned, disgruntled or lukewarm? Hands without vision are blind, and hands without hearing will not hear the call of God. You cannot have hands of fussing, strife or turmoil, hands that hold grudges, hands of vengeance or hands without Calvary’s tears because they are not holding God’s treasure of souls.
Hands with any malice, bitterness, wrath, anger or vanity, hands that speak evil and grieve the Holy Spirit will let souls slip through their fingers. The Bible says our conversation has to be the same as it is in Heaven. For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ (Philippians 3:20).
The Bride must have hands that will put lost souls ahead of self, family and friends. Whether a lost soul is related or unrelated to us should not matter; we must look upon everyone with the love God has for all people. For God so loved the world [meaning all people], that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life (John 3:16).
We must be completely yielded to God so we will bring souls to Him without failing Him in any way. We must give top priority to doing God’s work, and we must be willing to suffer anything for Jesus’ sake to bring in many millions of souls. For unto you it is given in the behalf of Christ, not only to believe on him, but also to suffer for his sake (Philippians 1:29).
Our prayer must be, “Lord, we will be careful not to do anything that would make people doubt your love and greatness, and we will be careful with every word we speak. We will make your plan of salvation shine and glitter before people as we proclaim what salvation has meant to us. We will not hold anything against anyone, and we will show people true salvation by the way we live.”
Jesus Brought New Life
When man and woman fell in Eden, their images became marred and no longer looked anything like God. Their eyes did not see like God sees, and their ears did not hear like He hears. Their tongues did not speak the love language of God but only the corrupt, degraded language of the world.
When the second Adam, Jesus, came, He made it possible for souls to be re-created in the likeness of God. But now ye also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth. And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him (Colossians 3:8,10).
Jesus brought a new and living way. Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus, By a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh (Hebrews 10:19,20). If you have found the new way, you must not betray it by doing anything that would cast a worldly reflection on it. Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new (II Corinthians 5:17). A new creature just like Jesus will walk like Him, love like Him, think like Him and use Christ’s mind to do His work.
Noah Sacrificed for Seven Souls
Noah held just seven souls in his hands; but no matter how much love he used, the rest slipped through his fingers because they did not want God. It took 120 years to build the ark that would save those seven souls, but Noah sacrificed everything for them; he had no life of his own. He denied himself fellowship with brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles, cousins, parents, grandparents and all of his relatives so he could meet his responsibility to those seven souls.
Consider Noah’s obedience, how holy he lived and the grace he found with God. Think of all the hours, days, months and years he put into building the ark for just seven souls and then ask yourself what you would be willing to do to save seven million or seven hundred million. Today, we who are members of the bridal company have the responsibility of bringing them in.
Noah went through so much. People spewed foul talk toward him, and evil spirits came his way through them. He fought discouraging words from people and the devil who said over and over that building the ark was ridiculous. “Even if a flood were to come,” they sneered, “there would not be enough water to float such a huge boat.” But Noah never paid them back because he didn’t have that kind of spirit.
Noah could have quit many times during those 120 years, but he did not listen to the devil or allow Satan to discourage him. Noah’s mind was fixed on one thing: “I must build the ark to save these seven souls, and then my soul will be saved, too.” Noah put great value on souls; and even though he saved only eight of them, the great price he paid was worth it. His dedication must be a lesson to all of us.
Abraham Had Hands of Love and Faith
When God was planning to destroy Sodom, Abraham held Lot’s family in his hands with great love and faithfulness. In fact, he did not want to lose any souls; so he bargained with God. Peradventure there be fifty righteous within the city: wilt thou also destroy and not spare the place for the fifty righteous that are therein? And the LORD said, If I find in Sodom fifty righteous within the city, then I will spare all the place for their sakes (Genesis 18:24,26).
Abraham continued to ask God not to destroy the city if there were forty souls, thirty souls, twenty souls and at last he asked God if He would spare the city for the sake of ten righteous souls; and the Lord answered, I will not destroy it for ten’s sake (Genesis 18:32). Nevertheless, God could not find even ten righteous souls in that wicked city.
Abraham did all he could to save Lot and his family, but Lot’s wife fell through his fingers of her own accord. She sent her own soul into eternal darkness and damnation; but because Abraham did not fail, Lot and his two daughters were saved.
We will not be able to hold on to all the souls that need to be saved because some will choose to drop into hell. Souls dropped out of Noah’s and Abraham’s hands even though neither one of them had failed; but because they both had hands that were full of God’s love and faith, Noah’s and Lot’s families were saved.
Moses Interceded for Souls
When the Israelites were finally able to leave Egypt, Moses held nearly four million souls in his hands. Then as the people wandered in the wilderness for forty years, many of those souls fell through Moses’ hands; but it was not his fault. Moses was obedient, humble and meek; but the people were disobedient and rebellious.
While Moses was on Mount Sinai receiving the Law written on two tablets of stone by God Himself, the Israelites were turning from God to worship a golden calf. God was so angry that He wanted to destroy them all; and He said to Moses, Now therefore let me alone, that my wrath may wax hot against them, and that I may consume them: and I will make of thee a great nation (Exodus 32:10). But Moses stood there holding on to souls saying, LORD, why doth thy wrath wax hot against thy people, which thou hast brought forth out of the land of Egypt with great power, and with a mighty hand (Exodus 32:11)? As Moses continued to reason with God, the LORD repented of the evil which he thought to do unto his people (Exodus 32:14).
Then Moses wanted the Lord to forgive the people for their sin, so he interceded for them again saying, Yet now, if thou wilt forgive their sin—; and if not, blot me, I pray thee, out of thy book which thou hast written. And the LORD said unto Moses, Whosoever hath sinned against me, him will I blot out of my book (Exodus 32:32,33). Moses wasn’t talking about the Book of Life but about God’s book of blessings. Moses cared so much about the people that he was willing to exchange his blessings for the lives of those who were in the path of God’s judgment.
If Moses was willing to give so much for those souls, then we should certainly be able to stand and hold souls even though the devil tries to discourage us. The devil will say, “You might as well let go of those souls because what you are doing is hopeless, and it won’t do any good. You have no life because you are sacrificing too much, and it isn’t worth it.” But the devil is the father of lies, and you have abundant life whether you know it or not. Because Moses held on, God spared the lives of many who would have been destroyed; and the people were eventually able to enter the land of Canaan.
Born-New Hands Will Never Give Up
If Noah, Abraham and Moses had hands that could hold onto souls before Calvary, how much more should the Bride be able to hold on after the miracle of Calvary? Their hands were not washed in the blood of the Lamb so that all sin stains were removed, but the Bride’s hands have been made new through the blood of Jesus; and the hands that had done evil no longer exist. The new creation with its new hands comes through the grace of the Lord.
The Lord has let me know that He is depending on the Bride and that we cannot fail Him in any way. We can never stumble or be careless with souls, even if there were only three. A soul is eternal, and it will live forever with Jesus in Glory or suffer a never-ending, living death in hell.
The Lord has showed me multitudes of souls that must be won, and they keep me going even when I don’t feel like it. I may feel beaten down to my knees with my face in the dust again and again, but I never lose my vision of those souls or forget my responsibility toward them.
Oh, Child of God, you must feel this huge responsibility so you can pay the greatest price that will ever be paid in this final hour by God’s obedient children because so many souls are at stake, and we can only pay the right price by denying self. We must be servants in the work of the Lord, and we are called to serve divinity with patience. Then as we serve the truth, it will make all things possible.
Paul Gave Everything for Souls
Before Paul was saved, he had worked to have Christians put to death; and he told Timothy that he had been the chief of sinners. This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief (I Timothy 1:15). But the grace of God turned Paul’s life around, and he was then willing to pay any price for souls.
Paul was not willing to give up his salvation, but he was willing to give up his blessings from Christ if it meant that the souls of his brethren and kinsmen would come to Jesus. I say the truth in Christ, I lie not, my conscience also bearing me witness in the Holy Ghost, That I have great heaviness and continual sorrow in my heart. For I could wish that myself were accursed from Christ for my brethren, my kinsmen according to the flesh (Romans 9:1-3).
Oh, how Paul wanted the Jews to be saved! He held them in his hands with all the love God had given him, and God’s grace flowed to him in a great way. Paul held on until God told him that His grace would not work for the Jews unless they accepted the sacrifice of Christ’s divine blood and broken body. Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace (Galatians 5:4). No one can be saved without the blood of Jesus being applied to his or her heart.
Jesus could have said, “Paul, I know you are under a heavy load, and I know how you feel. I walked among those people as their elder brother, and they mistreated me in every inhuman way they could think of; and finally, they killed me. I even prayed on the Cross, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do (Luke 23:34). But the people said, ‘Yes, we do know; and we don’t want you. Let your blood be upon us and our children.’”
Paul Had to Let Go
Paul had the right kind of hands but not the right kind of people, so imagine how he must have felt when he had to let go of all those souls who had refused Jesus. My God, how he must have cried! But then the Lord turned him to another people saying, “Paul, now take your hands of faith, love and obedience to the Gentiles. You and your people have considered them to be worthless and unclean, but I am sending you to them because they will accept my love; and I want you to gather them to Calvary. Paul, you know the Law to the letter, so I want you to separate my Law and my grace for people. As you show them the greatness of my grace, you will turn many to righteousness.”
Paul obeyed, and he went forth to tell the Gentiles about Jesus and to teach them about the Law and grace. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death. For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh: That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit (Romans 8:2-4).
Study Paul’s missionary journeys and notice all he went through and the price he paid. He never let go of the souls of the Gentile people, and they became more valuable to him than all the silver and gold in the world and even more valuable than his very life. For I am ready not to be bound only, but also to die at Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus (Acts 21:13). Would you give your life for souls?
When Paul walked on Earth, he loved people like Jesus did; he talked like Jesus, and he believed like Jesus. Then he swept the lost from their dark night into the light of God’s holiness and onto the paths of righteousness by using the same power we have to work with today—God’s faith, love, grace and greatness. We have everything we need in this last hour, but we must yield to those things and use them.
You Cannot Fail God
What can take your attention away from the grave responsibility the Lord has entrusted you with? Can even just one person saying something nasty or hurtful to you make you want to even up the score? Will you let anything put you into a spirit of indifference or lukewarmness? You cannot fail God just because you are being mistreated or you will let go of the souls you hold. When the enemy tries to make you disgruntled and hard to get along with, yield to God. He has put such great trust in you, so never let even a little thing get your attention. If you do, your fingers will separate; and souls will be lost.
Take another look at the souls you hold and say, “Lord, I can’t fail these souls because if I do, I will have failed you and your death for me. I will have failed your mighty works for mankind and the pouring out of the Spirit that Joel the prophet saw 2500 years ago.” And it shall come to pass afterward [in the final hour], that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy [preach], your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions (Joel 2:28).
“Lord, I know that I have only a limited number of days, hours, minutes and seconds left and that I can never be guilty of letting the devil get my attention and steal any of your precious time. I must give it to you so it can be used to bring in the harvest. I will walk and talk with you, Lord, and I will stay in step with you no matter what the cost may be. I will sacrifice all for souls.”
The Bride must be the light of the world. Ye are the light of the world (Matthew 5:14), and she must let that light shine. The people which sat in darkness saw great light; and to them which sat in the region and shadow of death light is sprung up (Matthew 4:16). Those who sit in darkness are going to see great light as we declare God’s goodness and mercy to the world. Thus saith the Lord, you are the voice of the Lord in the wilderness. We must be end-time witnesses and serve people the satisfying Christ.
Obedience Is the Answer
In the past, many hands have been out of place during crucial times; but now, all hands that proclaim the Savior must be in place. It is the hour of God’s victory just like it was the hour of Gideon’s victory when every soldier stood in his place.
When Gideon was facing the enemy, he thought he needed thousands of hands to hold on for victory; but that was not so. The LORD said unto Gideon, The people that are with thee are too many for me to give the Midianites into their hands, lest Israel vaunt themselves against me, saying, Mine own hand hath saved me. Now therefore go to, proclaim in the ears of the people, saying, Whosoever is fearful and afraid, let him return and depart early from mount Gilead. And there returned of the people twenty and two thousand; and there remained ten thousand. And the LORD said unto Gideon, The people are yet too many; bring them down unto the water, and I will try them for thee there: and it shall be, that of whom I say unto thee, This shall go with thee, the same shall go with thee; and of whomsoever I say unto thee, This shall not go with thee, the same shall not go (Judges 7:2-4).
Twenty-two thousand men turned back at one time, but God still said that there were too many left; so when God had finished, only 300 out of the original 32,000 were considered by God to be fit. However, God used Gideon’s 300 to win a great victory. And they stood every man in his place round about the camp; and all the host ran, and cried, and fled (Judges 7:21).
You cannot look at the crowds who are in false doctrine, fanaticism or lukewarmness; and you can’t look at those who have failed or turned back. Stand in your place and keep your eyes on Jesus and on His faith, His love, His tender care and His gracious yearning for you. Help Him satisfy His desire daily by bringing souls to Him. Will you dare use your hands for self instead of using them for Jesus and lost humanity? Will you dare give them only to the small group of people around you, trying to please only those few rather than God?
Gideon had great, divine faith, and we must use divine faith because Jesus called human faith little faith. O ye of little faith (Matthew 6:30). God has given everyone a measure of faith. God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith (Romans 12:3), and we have to teach people about that measure of faith so they can find Calvary. I have helped so many people by using that measure of faith, and it destroys all mountains of sin and sickness.
You Must Please God
By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God (Hebrews 11:5). The Bible does not say that Enoch’s wife or children pleased God; it says that Enoch pleased God. In so doing, he may have displeased his family and those closest to him; but he was the one the Lord translated.
You will be one of those who makes the Rapture if you please God; but if serving Him does not also please those around you, you must still continue to stand in your place of amazing grace and please God all the time. Then you will have God’s love, faith, tenderness and kindness; and you will serve those things to others.
If you are not serving Jesus today, you are not in your place. The devil has moved you out of it; and even if it is just for a moment, you are on the wrong ground and serving the wrong things. Where is your responsibility to souls?
The call of God is now on, saith the Lord. Awake thou that sleepest (Ephesians 5:14). If you don’t wake up now, you never will because in this final hour, you must be wide awake if you want to make it through to Rapture ground. You must have clean hands to lift up before God because only clean hands can hold the multitudes of people who are on their way to destruction and eternal damnation.
Only hands of righteousness and holiness will hold souls. And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness (Ephesians 4:24). Only the new man can have the new hands and be found speaking the truth in love (Ephesians 4:15). Divine love does not argue, hate or bicker; so the new hands go along with a tender heart. And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another (Ephesians 4:32).
Forgiving hands are not bitter over the injustices done to you or others, and they forgive people for whatever they have done to you. You can never excuse yourself or others for doing wrong, but you can forgive others and put them into the loving hands of God and under the blood of Jesus and leave them there. Then they will no longer be your responsibility.
The formula for holding onto souls is covering their wrongs with love; and what you can’t cover with love, you must excuse for the sake of millions of lost souls. You must look at those who mistreat you through the love of Calvary, and having the knowledge of what they can be in Christ will give you courage. You see them for a moment in their degraded state and covered with sin, but then you look through the blood and see how they can be cleansed and made pure and holy just as you were. Then you must hold on to them in the spirit of Jesus.
The Lord said we must be living, walking Bibles. Forasmuch as ye are manifestly declared to be the epistle of Christ ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tables of stone, but in fleshy tables of the heart (II Corinthians 3:3). Many people don’t know about the Bible, and many don’t even have one; so we must be living epistles of love, salvation, truth, honesty and all the good things of divinity. Then the Lord said that His grace would be sufficient for us in all He is calling us to do. My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness (II Corinthians 12:9).
Jesus Never Let Go
What would have happened if Jesus had let go of you and me in His trying times? Thank God, He didn’t; and He carried us all to Calvary. The devil did everything he could to get Jesus to let go; he even offered Him all the kingdoms of the world, but Jesus held on to souls. The devil taketh him [Jesus] up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them; And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me. Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve (Matthew 4:8-10).
Later, wicked men spit in Jesus’ face and beat Him, but He still held on to souls. They plucked out His beard and mocked and shamed Him in every way they could, but He opened not His mouth. He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth (Isaiah 53:7). Jesus had so much love for lost humanity that He gave every drop of His blood for them, and that blood was a priceless gift for all.
God gave the great prophet Isaiah a picture of what the Crucifixion would be like. As many were astonied at thee; his visage was so marred more than any man, and his form more than the sons of men: He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not (Isaiah 52:14; 53:3). My God, what an awful sight Jesus was! People could not even bear to look upon His face because it was so beaten and disfigured. Evil men placed a crown of thorns on His head, and we must never add any thorns to that crown. Don’t you think He has suffered, been shamed and sacrificed enough?
The Crucifixion didn’t look like a gift to many people, but it was. While on the Cross, Jesus held souls with love; and His blood washed away their sins and made them new just like the first Adam and Eve were before the fall. As yielded ones listened to the voice of the Lord, their ears opened to what He was saying; and their eyes could see the love, the glory and the power of the Lord. Those who crucified Jesus and nailed His hands to the Cross could not get the souls He had washed in His blood away from Him because He held on to them with so much love, grace and faith.
Jesus Will Come Back
Oh, Children of God, the Lord has put great confidence and trust in us. You must deny self like Jesus did, and then you can be a real disciple of Christ in this final hour. Stop worrying about what others may say or do because when you carry the opinions of others, your hands will be filled with garbage. We live in an awesome and fearful hour, and you cannot be careless ever again.
Jesus loves His children with an unending love, and He is anxious for us to finish our work and bring souls to Him so He can take us home. In fact, He is so eager for us to be with Him that He is coming for His Bride Himself. Power from On High will change those of us who are saved and filled with the blessed Holy Ghost, and we will be caught up in the air as though we are being drawn by a powerful magnet. We will meet Jesus in midair, and He will carry us with His greatness all the way to Heaven’s shore. For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord (I Thessalonians 4:16,17).
I am sure we will leave this world without saying goodbye because we will be so happy and excited to look upon our Lord’s face—the One who carried us in His wonderful hands and then died for us. No amount of pain, shame, disgrace or torture could make Him let go of us.
Redeem the Time
Hands that hold souls speak that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister [or serve] grace unto the hearers (Ephesians 4:29). If you expect to hold souls in your hands and really help bring in the harvest, you will have to stop doing anything that is unlike Jesus and separate from the world. Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you (II Corinthians 6:17).
The Lord wants you to be completely His. He wants you to put on the love bridle and keep it on so you will say only those things that edify and bless others. Thus saith the Lord, He will not let you or anyone else destroy the multitudes. He will separate His fingers of love and leave you alone. Now is a fearful time as God Himself deals with each heart through His mighty Spirit.
Is your time profitable to God? The Bible says, Redeeming the time, because the days are evil (Ephesians 5:16). What benefits does the Lord reap from the hours He gives you to use day after day? God is the only one who serves time; He can stop the clock or keep it going.
Do you always watch the clock when it comes to working for God and then forget about it when it comes to your own time? You have to forget about the clock and about pleasing self and know that your responsibility to souls is greater than anything else. When you truly recognize that, you won’t think about time because you will know that if you let go of your priceless treasure for even just a moment, it will cause chaos.
Thus saith the Lord, each member of the bridal company will carry the responsibility for souls. To do that, each member must be without spot, wrinkle or blemish so that we will hold onto lost humanity with the same strength, love and grace that Jesus did. That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish (Ephesians 5:27).
You Must Receive the Holy Ghost
Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father (John 14:12). No one can do those greater works without having the Holy Ghost. Jesus was very God, but He walked the Earth in the form of a man; and as a man, He knew He could not complete His mission without the Holy Ghost. So the very Son of God did receive the Holy Ghost before He started His ministry. And the Holy Ghost descended in a bodily shape like a dove upon him, and a voice came from heaven, which said, Thou art my beloved Son; in thee I am well pleased (Luke 3:22).
When Jesus was about to go back to Heaven, He told the disciples He would pray that the Father would send the Holy Ghost to live and dwell in His obedient followers. And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you forever; Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you (John 14:16,17).
In that prayer, Jesus was saying, “Father, my disciples need a lot of help, and they need the Holy Ghost to live and dwell within them all the time. I have lived here, and I know they cannot make it without the Holy Ghost. You sent the Holy Ghost upon me when I was baptized by John in Jordan; and, Lord, they must have Him as their comforter and guide all the time, too.”
Jesus told the disciples that the Holy Spirit would flow like rivers to them, and then they would flow divinity like rivers to the people; and they did that for the first thirty-three years of the Early Church. He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water (John 7:38). You must be all that God wants you to be so the living waters of the Holy Spirit will flow from your innermost being, too.
We must honor the Lord in everything we do, and we must realize that He is to be in control. That is why He sent the third person in the Trinity of the Godhead to live inside of us; and each member of the bridal company must be filled, thrilled and operated by the Holy Spirit Himself. Thus saith the Lord, you will not make the Rapture without Him. You will not get out of here by using man’s opinions; you will get out through my Word, through my truth and through my power. Those who reject the might of my power will not get out.
Do Not Be Deceived
Who does a man think he is that he can reject the power of his God and still dare to claim the benefits of what the great God of the universe has promised? Of what value are you to God now, and of what value will you be to Him in this final walk? The responsibility of souls is so grave and weighty that we will find ourselves overwhelmed by it again and again; but with the voice of the Lord in our ears and the vision of God in living reality in our hearts, we will not fail. Nothing can stop us, and we will go all the way with God.
You cannot be concerned about someone else’s hands; you must check your own in light of what God has told you and find out for sure what kind of hands you really have. Now is the time to know, and you cannot let one tiny seed of deceit linger in your mind or deceive you.
Do you redeem your time for the Lord, or do you grumble and complain because you think you are doing too much? Many are in the habit of grumbling and complaining so much that it becomes second nature to them while other people fail and disobey God so many times that it seems they don’t even know what they are doing. You can become immune to the Holy Spirit through disobedience and arrogance, and you cannot allow that to happen to you. You must come into the abundant life of Jesus, the new and living way. I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly (John 10:10).
God first gave the grave responsibility of souls to His disciples when He instructed them to go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost (Matthew 28:19). Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature (Mark 16:15). Jesus is still crying today, “Go forth and bring souls to me!” So we are going out to gather souls like stars without number, and it is so exciting!
Years ago during my early revivals, I would seek God for just a small number of people to come to Him without knowing that I would later witness thousands coming to Jesus in a moment of time. That is really living the true Jesus life when you can serve Him to so many souls. That opportunity is available to you; but you must have serving, obedient, loving, caring hands to be able to serve Jesus to others. You cannot serve Him any other way.
When you find people whose hearts are so overwhelmed that they don’t know what to do, you must give them the answer: When my heart is overwhelmed: lead me to the rock that is higher than I (Psalm 61:2). The Rock is Christ Jesus; and we must lead people to that Rock of salvation, that Rock of power, love, deliverance and miracles.
Thus Saith the Lord
Oh, saith the Spirit of the Lord unto this people, I have gathered you unto me. I have spent so much time to teach you, to bless you and to help you so you could carry my love and my faith and my goodness to the inhabitants of the Earth. You must not fail; you must not fail. I have loved you and cared for you. I have kept you when you did not even want to be kept. I have protected you when you felt no need of my protection. Many of you have been so nigh unto destruction and death, but I have spared you for this hour. I have claimed you as my treasure; but if you continue to rebel and disobey, I won’t be able to use you. And in your disobedience, remember, you have let go of multitudes of souls.
If you fail me now, you will have failed yourself; and you will go into darkness. If you fail me now, you will lose the path of light. Night will be your destiny; and the devil will give you his arrogance so that momentarily, you won’t even be afraid of the night…but you will be afraid of it later.
Your own soul is in jeopardy and not just the souls of those I have ordained you to bring into my Kingdom. You must walk holy. You must be upright and righteous all the time. You are not going to be able to go to the left or fail and fail. The day is far spent, and night is at hand. You must work my works and do my work while there is yet time because the eternal night cometh.
You can be an overcomer. I have offered you all the power you need and more to be an overcomer. I offer it to you daily, and yet you let the enemy give you his spirit of arrogance and indifference and turn you away from my gracious, abundant supply. The devil offers you nothing but destruction; and yet he blinds your mind, your eyes and your spirit, and you walk alone because you walk without me. You stray to other paths, and then you try to find your way back; but the hour is now late, and you will not find your way back, saith the Lord.
We Need God’s Help
Each of us must decide what kind of hands we have today and cry, “Oh, God, help us not to fail! Oh, Jesus, we love you so much; we are possessed by your love. We are held in captivity by your compassion for the lost, and we can do no less than bring in the lost. We are your prisoners, Lord, just like Paul was.” I [Paul] therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called, With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love (Ephesians 4:1,2).
We need to cry unto God until we know our hands are just like Jesus’ hands, until we know they have no arrogance, disobedience or failure in them when it comes to God so they will not let go of souls. Your hands represent the whole you.
Today is the day of deliverance and salvation, so cry aloud unto God for the blood while you yet have time. Cry until you know your hands have nothing but love, compassion, mercy and tenderness, nothing but pure, clean words that will edify and bless you and others. Be determined in your heart that you will never fail God or let souls that you hold in your hands slip through your fingers.
Many of you who are walking in the blood steps of the Lord are now being severely tempted and tried, but Jesus was tempted and tried; and He made it. You can make it, too; and you must make it because souls are at stake, and you can’t let them perish and go to hell. Some of them are your very own family members, so you can’t stop now.
Your help and victory are in the blood, and you have that blood if you are born again; so you must use it. All the power you need to keep you free and to give you peace, joy, happiness, health and strength is in the blood.
The Lord is saying to the Bride today, Hold the heathen with your love and bring them in from the ends of the Earth. Bring in people who have never heard my name and who don’t know I died for them. Bring those who have never had a Bible into the truth; I am putting them into your care and placing them into your hands. Never let go because every soul is valuable, and so many of them will be won.
Don’t worry about those around you who have rejected me because they have had their opportunity, and they have passed it by. Many of them will never come to me, but don’t let them hinder you. If you look at those who are failing, you will stumble and lose the souls that could have been won; but with my love and my greatness, you will hold them.
Do Not Be a Lost Soul
If you don’t have divine blood in your soul, pray the sinners’ prayer now: Oh, God, save my soul! I am so sorry I have sinned against you, but I have come home. I am going to serve you, Lord, for the rest of my life. I believe that the blood of Jesus washes away all of my sins right now! Come into my heart, Jesus! Come on in!
If you meant that prayer, He has come; and you can rejoice because you have found the Lord today. Rejoice because you know Him! You are redeemed, and you are a new creature in Christ Jesus. Now, you must go on and get the baptism of the Holy Ghost according to Acts 2:4, And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance. You must be complete in the Lord so you can get out of here on the one flight out.
Divine Blood Heals
One drop of the divine blood has all the life of Heaven in it and all the joy and peace you will ever need for all eternity. It is through that divine blood that you will have life and that you will never be sick in Heaven, so you can use that divine blood and get well now. There is healing in the divine blood.
If you are sick and afflicted, the Bible says, With his [blood] stripes we are healed (Isaiah 53:5). I am not a healer; I am just a believer in God’s truth, and healing is in His truth. If you are crippled or have AIDS, cancer, heart trouble or diabetes, you must know that God heals every manner of sickness, disease and affliction. Our God is able; but the devil is a cheat, a liar and a thief, so don’t let him steal anything from you.
When you are born new, you have the blood power of Jesus to trample the devil underfoot; and in that blood power is deliverance from sickness and disease. When Jesus was here, sickness was destroyed as He spoke because the blood power went forth in His voice. Devils had to obey and go out of people no matter how many had bound them. The works that Jesus did then, He is still doing today. All things are possible to those who believe, and I believe God for your healing.
Lord, here are the sick and afflicted, those suffering with AIDS, those who are blind or crippled and little, deformed babies who will never be normal without your touch. You have given your healing touch again and again. In the holy name of Jesus, it comes from your gifts of miracles and healing through the power of the good Holy Ghost. Heal! Heal! in the all-powerful, blood name of Jesus.
The healing power is now flowing to you. That power will linger in your body or in the body of the one you have prayed for, and it will bring complete deliverance if you believe the truth. Notice all changes daily, and then write and tell me about them.
Through the divine blood, you have not only healing for your soul but also for your mind and body. Take on the mighty anointing that is in the blood of Jesus and start using it. Then you will be victorious in your separation from the world; and one glorious day, Heaven will be yours!
Thus Saith the Lord
Thus saith the Lord, if this message does not touch your heart…you are afar off and not nigh unto me. If this message does not penetrate into your innermost being, you are not right with me, saith the Lord. I am speaking to you, my people; and this is my message. This is my love and my heart and my amazing grace; and if this does not reach into your innermost being, you are not really right with me, saith the Lord.
