Unveiled Vision
by Ernest Angley
June 2016
Before you read this message, lift your hands before the Lord and pray this prayer: Lord, if I have any veils in my life that are covering the Word of God, unveil them and destroy them today so I can understand the whole truth. Amen.
A veil is something that conceals, masks, obscures or disguises; and in this final hour, we cannot have any veils clouding our vision. We must have Heaven’s clear, spiritual vision and see as Jesus sees, and everyone can have that clear vision if they truly want it.
Under the Old Covenant, people’s spiritual vision was limited because there was a veil that covered their eyes and hearts. But their minds were blinded: for until this day remaineth the same veil untaken away in the reading of the old testament; which veil is done away in Christ (II Corinthians 3:14). Christ came to take away that veil, but so many people then and now have not accepted Christ; so their veil remains. But even unto this day, when Moses is read, the veil is upon their heart. Nevertheless when it shall turn to the Lord, the veil shall be taken away. Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty (II Corinthians 3:15-17).
The Law of Bondage
Most people in Old Testament days were never spiritually liberated. God had given them the Law, which told them what they should and should not do; but flesh could not live up to those commands. They tried works, ceremonies and sacrifices; but those things were not sufficient to free them.
Under the Law, there was a most holy place in the temple; but no one except the high priest could enter there, or they would die. If the high priest would happen to die while he was in that holy place, no one could enter in to get his body. The Law required that the priest have a rope tied around him and bells sewn on the hem of his garments that would jingle as he moved around. If the bells stopped jingling, the people would know something was wrong and use the rope to pull him out. A golden bell and a pomegranate, upon the hem of the robe round about. And it shall be upon Aaron to minister: and his sound shall be heard when he goeth in unto the holy place before the LORD, and when he cometh out, that he die not (Exodus 28:34,35).
That was such bondage; and that is why Jesus, the spotless Lamb of God, came to Earth and shed His blood to bring liberty and unveiled vision to all people who wanted it. When Jesus died, the veil in the temple was torn from top to bottom, signifying that there was no longer a veil obstructing our vision of God Almighty. And Jesus cried with a loud voice, and gave up the ghost. And the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom (Mark 15:37,38).
The veil that separated man and his God had been torn down. For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us (Ephesians 2:14). Now, you and I can go boldly into God’s throne room and ask for whatever we need. Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need (Hebrews 4:16).
Jesus gave His life to bring us a new and living way. By a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh (Hebrews 10:20). Then He made it possible for us to be one with Him. For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones (Ephesians 5:30).
But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name (John 1:12). We can all be sons and daughters of God and have the same unveiled vision Jesus had through the Word and the Holy Ghost. But we all, with open face [no veils over our eyes] beholding as in a glass [a mirror] the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord (II Corinthians 3:18).
There is no reason for any of us to have dim vision unless we choose to. The Bible says, Where there is no vision, the people perish (Proverbs 29:18); and people will perish without God.
Can You See Deceit?
If we let anything dim our vision in the Lord, we will see things the wrong way; and there are many people who do. They allow the scriptures to be veiled to them, and they don’t get the right meaning. Then they put their approval on the wrong things because their vision is not clear enough for them to be able to recognize those who carry deceit.
You can read about a type of this in the Old Testament. When Isaac grew old and his vision became dim, Rebekah and Jacob deceived him into giving his blessing to Jacob instead of Esau. Isaac had asked his oldest son, Esau, to go hunting and then prepare for him the savory meat he loved so much. When he delivered the meat, Isaac promised Esau that he would give him the Lord’s blessing.
Rebekah overheard all that Isaac had said; and while Esau was gone, Rebekah spake unto Jacob her son, saying, Behold, I heard thy father speak unto Esau thy brother, saying, Bring me venison, and make me savoury meat, that I may eat, and bless thee before the LORD before my death. Now therefore, my son, obey my voice according to that which I command thee. Go now to the flock, and fetch me from thence two good kids of the goats; and I will make them savoury meat for thy father, such as he loveth: And thou shalt bring it to thy father, that he may eat, and that he may bless thee before his death (Genesis 27:6-10).
At first, Jacob was very nervous because he knew he was not hairy like Esau and did not smell like Esau; and he thought his father would figure it out. But Rebekah took care of that by giving Jacob some of Esau’s raiment to wear and by covering his arms, hands and neck with goat skins. Then she gave the savoury meat and the bread, which she had prepared, into the hand of her son Jacob. And he came unto his father, and said, My father: and he said, Here am I; who art thou, my son? And Jacob said unto his father, I am Esau thy firstborn; I have done according as thou badest me: arise, I pray thee, sit and eat of my venison, that thy soul may bless me (Genesis 27:17-19).
Isaac sensed that something was wrong, but he could not discern the truth. And Isaac said unto Jacob, Come near, I pray thee, that I may feel thee, my son, whether thou be my very son Esau or not. And Jacob went near unto Isaac his father; and he felt him, and said, The voice is Jacob’s voice, but the hands are the hands of Esau. And he discerned him not, because his hands were hairy, as his brother Esau’s hands: so he blessed him (Genesis 27:21-23).
Isaac depended on his feelings because he could not see well, and many people today live by their feelings. Their spiritual vision is clouded, and their feelings are like a big roller coaster taking them up and down; but unveiled vision is consistent—it sees and acts on what the Word and the Spirit proclaim. Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth (II Timothy 2:15). Unveiled vision is Word vision, and the Word discerns things the right way.
Veiled Vision Leads to Failure
The Scribes and Pharisees in Jesus’ day could see with their physical eyes, but they had no spiritual vision; so Jesus had to speak to them in parables, simple stories that use familiar things to illustrate moral or religious lessons. Therefore speak I to them in parables: because they seeing see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand (Matthew 13:13).
God does not put any stumbling blocks in our way to hinder us from having unveiled vision; so don’t let the devil, the god of this world, blind you to any of God’s truths. But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them (II Corinthians 4:3,4).
Never let what you see with your natural eyes dim your spiritual vision. Things are not always as they seem to be, and people are not always who they appear to be. The Lord wants us to be just like Jesus and to have clear vision without any confusion.
At one time, the Psalmist almost backslid when he looked at things through his natural eyes. But as for me, my feet were almost gone; my steps had well nigh slipped. For I was envious at the foolish, when I saw the prosperity of the wicked. For there are no bands in their death: but their strength is firm. They are not in trouble as other men; neither are they plagued like other men. Behold, these are the ungodly, who prosper in the world; they increase in riches (Psalm 73:2-5,12). He looked at those who were backslidden or lost, and it appeared to him that they were the only ones who were prospering. Never let the devil put that lie over on you.
The Psalmist was looking at things through such dim eyes that he even questioned whether or not he was doing the right thing by serving God. Verily I have cleansed my heart in vain, and washed my hands in innocency. For all the day long have I been plagued, and chastened every morning (Psalm 73:13,14). He was having a horrible battle between his physical and spiritual vision, but he was afraid to tell anyone. If I say, I will speak thus; behold, I should offend against the generation of thy children (Psalm 73:15).
David was one of the Psalmists, and he had been a man after God’s own heart. When the Lord was leading Samuel to David to replace Saul as king, Samuel said, The LORD hath sought him a man after his own heart (I Samuel 13:14).
David became a great king; but later, he let the devil hinder him. However, he finally went to God’s sanctuary, that quiet place with the Lord, where the veil fell from his eyes. When I thought to know this, it was too painful for me; Until I went into the sanctuary of God; then understood I their end (Psalm 73:16,17).
You have to get away from troubles and trials and be with God. He said, Come now, and let us reason together (Isaiah 1:18). After getting quiet before the Lord, the Psalmist understood that sinners will not have a good end; hell is their destiny.
In that chapter, the Psalmist clearly showed us that the grass always looks greener on the other side when you look at things through veiled eyes. It can appear that people living in sin have it easier than those who suffer for Christ’s sake, but the Bible tells us that the way of the transgressor is hard. Good understanding giveth favour: but the way of transgressors is hard (Proverbs 13:15).
The Dangers of Veiled Vision
Veiled vision is hypocrite vision, and hypocrites judge and criticize. Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother’s eye (Matthew 7:5). A beam is big, whereas a mote is something very small. Let this thought stick with you and help you to keep your mouth closed when it comes to criticizing your brothers and sisters in the Lord. Children of God are to have all nine fruits of the Spirit, and one of those fruits is love.
Veiled vision looks only at the outward appearance, but God looks on the heart. For the LORD seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the LORD looketh on the heart (I Samuel 16:7). You need to check yourself closely because veiled vision makes people weak and helpless, and they will never do much for God.
Veiled vision is superstitious vision that looks at every new thing that comes along—new doctrines, new philosophies, new social websites—and it does not focus on the true and living God. The Greeks were like that, and Paul was brave enough to tell them so. Then Paul stood in the midst of Mars’ hill, and said, Ye men of Athens, I perceive that in all things ye are too superstitious. For as I passed by, and beheld your devotions, I found an altar with this inscription, TO THE UNKNOWN GOD. Whom therefore ye ignorantly worship, him declare I unto you (Acts 17:22,23).
Those people didn’t even know who the true and living God was, but they thought they should build an altar for Him since they had altars for so many other gods. How ridiculous! The Bible says, God that made the world and all things therein, seeing that he is Lord of heaven and earth, dwelleth not in temples made with hands; Neither is worshipped with men’s hands, as though he needed anything, seeing he giveth to all life, and breath, and all things (Acts 17:24,25).
Jesus brought everything we need to have clear vision, and He showed us how to use it all and serve it all. You have to serve the things of God or He will not continue to bless you. Blessed be the Lord, who daily loadeth us with benefits, even the God of our salvation. Selah (Psalm 68:19). The Psalmist could say that because he served those blessings to others.
It is our turn to take over, serve and do the Lord’s work; and we can be fully equipped to do that by taking on the whole armor of God. Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God (Ephesians 6:13-17). The Lord wills His armor to each one of us, and He did not leave out one thing we will need to help us every day.
See As God Sees
Unveiled vision sees that the fields are ready to harvest. Say not ye, There are yet four months, and then cometh harvest? behold, I say unto you, Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest (John 4:35). On a farm, there is a season to plant, a season to cultivate and a season to gather in the harvest. But there is no specific season for reaping souls—the harvest is ripe all the time. Therefore said he [Jesus] unto them [His disciples], The harvest truly is great, but the labourers are few: pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he would send forth labourers into his harvest (Luke 10:2). The Holy Spirit is the Lord of the harvest, and He is sending laborers into the harvest fields of the lost.
Unveiled vision is a necessity if we are to be in the unity of the Holy Spirit. Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace (Ephesians 4:3). We must have God’s perfect peace.
Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man [like Christ Jesus], unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ (Ephesians 4:13). We can have all of that. We can be as strong as Jesus was. We can love like He did, and use the same faith, hope and assurance that He did. Those things will make us real workers for the Lord.
Unveiled vision sees the promises of God and lives by them. Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God (II Corinthians 7:1). You cannot perfect holiness because it is already perfect when it is offered to you. That scripture means we must use holiness in perfection in our lives through the fear, or honoring, of God. Then we must follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord (Hebrews 12:14).
Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust (II Peter 1:4). God’s divine nature is available to everyone, and it sets God’s children apart from the world while they are still on their way to Heaven.
We must all have Heaven’s vision in this hour and be able to say like the Apostle Paul did, I was not disobedient unto the heavenly vision (Acts 26:19). Have you been obedient to God’s heavenly vision? Having that heavenly vision means you walk the right paths and have the right kind of ears to hear all that the Spirit is saying instead of listening to people. He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith (Revelation 2:7,11,17,29; 3:6,13,22).
With heavenly vision, you can please God like Enoch did; and he went to Heaven alive. By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God (Hebrews 11:5). If you want to get along with God and not have a veil over your eyes and your soul, you must please Him and be obedient to Him in all things.
Walk the High Road
When you have unveiled vision, you can walk the high road of holiness. The Lord said, An highway shall be there, and a way, and it shall be called The way of holiness; the unclean shall not pass over it; but it shall be for those: the wayfaring men, though fools, shall not err therein (Isaiah 35:8). We are to live holy every day because Jesus is coming soon.
The high road does not place some people above others; it is a road of humility and walking in the Spirit, and God lets everybody decide for themselves whether or not they want to walk on it. He makes that road available to them, but He can’t make them walk it. Blessed is every one that feareth the LORD; that walketh in his ways [the high road]. For thou shalt eat the labour of thine hands: happy shalt thou be, and it shall be well with thee (Psalm 128:1,2).
There is no evil to cloud your vision on the high road. The highway of the upright is to depart from evil: he that keepeth his way preserveth his soul (Proverbs 16:17). To preserve your soul, you must stop all lying, gossiping and doing anything that is unlike Jesus. You may think that just a little bit of the wrong thing now and then won’t hurt you; but the Bible says, Take us the foxes, the little foxes, that spoil the vines (Song of Solomon 2:15). When it comes to grapevines, the little foxes cannot reach the grapes; so they destroy the vine by gnawing on the roots.
Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils (I Timothy 4:1). We are in the final hour now, and many people are falling away. Ministers are teaching that nobody can live free from sin, and the Lord told me years ago that this time would come. He said that many people and even preachers would blaspheme against the Holy Ghost, and it is happening.
To walk the high road with clear vision, you must surrender to the higher ways and thoughts of God. The Bible says, For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts (Isaiah 55:8,9). Wrong thoughts will come to your mind; but if you are a true child of God, they will not be able to drop into your heart.
There is a drastic difference between a thought being in your mind and it being in your heart. As long as the divine blood covers your heart, the devil cannot get into your soul; but since our minds are not sealed with the blood, the devil can get into them. However, when he brings bad thoughts to your mind, you can always get rid of them with a good thought from God.
Let the Holy Spirit Lead
The high road is a divine road that you can only follow with unveiled vision. That is why you definitely need the Holy Spirit to dwell within you and lead you. Jesus said, Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come (John 16:13). The Holy Spirit tells you what He hears from Heaven; so you must have Him as your guide, teacher and helper.
When the Spirit lives within, you must let Him feed you what is in your soul because He is there to help you from the inside. Some of you have had a lot of sadness in your life, but you can overcome it through the power of the Holy Ghost living within you. You will never make it without Him.
The Holy Spirit will pray for you. Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered (Romans 8:26). Have you ever been under such a heavy load that you couldn’t even speak? If you have the real Holy Ghost, He will take over at those times and groan through you; and God knows what those divine groanings mean. The Spirit puts you in touch with God on the throne.
You will never make it to Rapture ground without the Spirit, so you must surrender to His control in everything. You may say that you are living in the Spirit; but if you fail to walk with Him all the time, it will be easy for you to fall away from God. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit (Galatians 5:25).
We do not know what lies around life’s next corner, but the Holy Spirit does; so you have to get self out of the way by letting the Spirit lead you into prayers and fastings. Jesus said, This [miracle] kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting (Matthew 17:21). God gives you what you need to be able to talk to Him; but when self or anything else hinders His power, your prayers will not go through to God.
We must give ourselves completely to the Lord like Jesus did, and He prayed and fasted when He was here. And he withdrew himself into the wilderness, and prayed (Luke 5:16). Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil. And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was afterward an hungered (Matthew 4:1,2). Jesus is to be our example. For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps (I Peter 2:21).
But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit [which is holy] that dwelleth in you (Romans 8:11). That Spirit is the person of the Holy Ghost; and if He dwells in you, you have that same power that Jesus had—the power that raised Him from the dead, and the power He used to overcome the world.
Put God First
You will not reach the high road and see as God sees by lifting yourself up but by serving the Lord with all humility of mind and spirit. Jesus said, Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven (Matthew 18:4). You cannot count your life dear to yourself, only for what God can get out of it. Paul said, But none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might finish my course with joy, and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God (Acts 20:24). We must strive to show people the true Gospel through signs, wonders, miracles and healings.
Flesh cannot be in control or your vision will definitely be veiled. You have to crucify the flesh. And they that are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts (Galatians 5:24). “Affections” means fond attachments, sentiments, love for or devotion to someone or something. Some of the affections of the natural man may not be sinful, but they will rob you of the things of God you could have. We all have things we hold dear in life—family, friends, homes, jobs—and those things are all right as long as we treat God right; but if any of those things take us away from God, then the Lord tells us to separate from them.
Jesus said, Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword. For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law. And a man’s foes shall be they of his own household (Matthew 10:34-36). Some of you will not separate, and you continue to talk to people you should not be talking to. You will never win the lost like that, and you will hinder your own walk with God.
You must let the Holy Spirit monitor your affections. Some of you may be sympathetic towards a person who has turned their back on God and His work; but if you are truly walking in the Spirit, you will hold how you feel in check according to what the Spirit wants.
All of the worldly things you are fond of and devoted to must be crucified with Christ. Your affections can no longer rule your thoughts and decisions; you must let the Spirit do that, and He will lead you in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake (Psalm 23:3).
If you are not walking in the Spirit, you will feel more obligated to flesh and its affections than you will to the Holy Spirit. People will try to get you to miss church services by telling you that if you really loved them, you would spend that time with them; but that isn’t what the Bible teaches. It says, Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching (Hebrews 10:25).
Put Self Down
Do you have confidence in anything more than you do God? Paul let people know that he had no confidence in the flesh. For we are the circumcision, which worship God in the spirit, and rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh (Philippians 3:3).
Paul had many reasons to trust in himself; and at one time, he told people about them, but he chose to walk the high road of the Holy Spirit of God. If any other man thinketh that he hath whereof he might trust in the flesh, I more: Circumcised the eighth day, of the stock of Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin, an Hebrew of the Hebrews; as touching the law, a Pharisee; Concerning zeal, persecuting the church; touching the righteousness which is in the law, blameless. But what things were gain to me, those I counted loss for Christ. Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ (Philippians 3:4-8). Why did Paul give up so much?—so he could have the knowledge of God and do what the Lord wanted him to do.
Paul suffered for Christ but not in sicknesses and diseases as many preachers have taught. For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory (II Corinthians 4:17). Paul was persecuted, but he said that all he went through was nothing in comparison to eternity. Paul looked at what was to come, and he knew that the glory upon his soul would be worth it all. While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal (II Corinthians 4:18).
Don’t let persecutions cause the power of the Spirit to leak out and make you slip off the high road. That can happen if you give your heart over to the cares of this life because those things allow the devil to get into your mind. And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged [excessively filled] with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day [Rapture Day] come upon you unawares (Luke 21:34). Rapture Day will be the greatest moment that has ever been in the history of man; but if you are not ready for it, you will be left behind, and that will be a high price to pay.
One great warning sign that you have become a leaky vessel is that you are no longer excited about the things of God. You find church services to be boring; the Word no longer thrills your soul like it once did, and you are bored in prayer time. Why?—because you have slipped into the flesh more than you will admit, and you are dissatisfied with the things of God. If you have run across something that has made you dissatisfied and you are no longer enjoying the Gospel or the spiritual things of life, you must take time with the Lord and get rid of that uneasy spirit.
If you do not enjoy being with the Lord like you used to, He still loves you; but He wants you to be what He wants you to be. And he [Jesus] spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint (Luke 18:1). “To faint” means to give up on the things of God or to become weak in the things of divinity. For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day (II Corinthians 4:16). If you are about to faint, you must let the Holy Spirit renew you through prayer, fasting and living in the Word.
And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not (Galatians 6:9). You will reap all the things God has promised you if you don’t faint; but if you do, you will slide backwards because you are paying more attention to the things of the flesh than the things of the Holy Spirit.
Leave the Flesh Behind
Does God really come first in your life, or are you growing stronger in the flesh than you are in the Spirit? For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit. For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace (Romans 8:5,6). You have to accept the Holy Spirit’s leadership and what He guides you into. You have to accept His comfort, strength, joy, peace and all His fruits of love and grace. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). When you are spiritually minded, there is a peace deep down inside that the devil can’t get to.
There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the [Holy] Spirit (Romans 8:1). If you feel any condemnation today, you must repent. Don’t take any chances because one day it will be your last day, and no one knows when their last day will come.
Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh. For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body [keep them under subjection], ye shall live (Romans 8:12,13). When you walk in the Spirit, you won’t feel indebted to the flesh; and you don’t owe the flesh anything when you have given your whole self to God.
You must always remember that the flesh and the Spirit are at war, so you cannot allow yourself to be drawn away by the flesh. For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would (Galatians 5:17). I give people the truth, but some don’t like it. They think they can do as they please and still make the Rapture; but anyone who is pleasing self will not make it.
The Bible says God used to wink at ignorance but not anymore. And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men everywhere to repent (Acts 17:30). God is calling, and we must answer.
Samson Yielded to the Flesh
God used Samson in amazing ways until he started yielding more to the flesh than to the Spirit. Samson knew he was not supposed to get involved with Delilah because she was a heathen woman, but he did not see any danger in the little tricks he was playing with her. She wanted to know the source of Samson’s great strength; and at first, he would not tell her, but she would not give up. And it came to pass, when she pressed him daily with her words, and urged him, so that his soul was vexed unto death; That he told her all his heart, and said unto her, There hath not come a razor upon mine head; for I have been a Nazarite unto God from my mother’s womb: if I be shaven, then my strength will go from me, and I shall become weak, and be like any other man (Judges 16:16,17).
Delilah let Samson fall asleep on her lap, and then she called men to come and shave his head. When they did, his great strength from God was gone. And she [Delilah] said, The Philistines be upon thee, Samson. And he awoke out of his sleep, and said, I will go out as at other times before, and shake myself. And he wist not that the LORD was departed from him (Judges 16:20). Samson had a way of shaking himself and then God’s power would come upon him; but the power did not come that time, and he knew God had left him.
But the Philistines took him, and put out his eyes, and brought him down to Gaza, and bound him with fetters of brass; and he did grind in the prison house (Judges 16:21). How sad. Samson had been blinded by the flesh even before the Philistines put out his physical eyes.
At one time, Samson had the strength of the Almighty. And he [Samson] found a new jawbone of an ass, and put forth his hand, and took it, and slew a thousand men therewith (Judges 15:15). That same strength is offered to us under grace, the strength to war against the devil so that he cannot defeat us in anything; but the more you give the flesh, the more it wants. Then if you continue on that way, you will be drawn away like Samson was. But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed (James 1:14).
People do not lose God by accident. Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death (James 1:15).
The Jesus Road
In this last hour, we must have the vision of Jesus and walk the same roads He did; and He gives us everything we need to do that. His roads were rough, rocky and dark, places where the sun didn’t always shine; and people were always trying to kill Him. And the chief priests and scribes sought how they might kill him; for they feared the people (Luke 22:2). But Jesus could see beyond all those things because He had come to redeem us. But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed (Isaiah 53:5).
Jesus walked among the very poor, but He loved them; and He was determined to help everybody who was sincere. And as he [Jesus] went out of Jericho with his disciples and a great number of people, blind Bartimaeus, the son of Timaeus, sat by the highway side begging. And when he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out, and say, Jesus, thou son of David, have mercy on me (Mark 10:46,47).
Many of the people around at that time told the man to be quiet, but did Jesus pass him by? And Jesus stood still, and commanded him to be called…And Jesus…said unto him, What wilt thou that I should do unto thee? The blind man said unto him, Lord, that I might receive my sight. And Jesus said unto him, Go thy way; thy faith hath made thee whole. And immediately he received his sight, and followed Jesus in the way (Mark 10:49,51,52).
Bartimaeus had faith, but he needed somebody like Jesus to help him to turn his faith loose. There are people today who have faith to be healed, too; but they have to be taught to turn their faith loose by yielding to the living Word—Jesus. That is why God is sending His Gospel to the ends of the Earth.
And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all manner of sickness and all manner of disease among the people (Matthew 4:23). Jesus’ healing power is still available today. When God’s true children will walk in Jesus’ steps and preach the Gospel of the Kingdom, they can expect the same results that Jesus had. The more you believe the things of God, the more you will see; and thus saith the Lord, the more you believe, the more power God will trust you with.
A Walk of Faith
Through unveiled vision, you will see that the high road of Jesus is the only way of truth and life. He said, I am the way, the truth and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me (John 14:6). His is the way of power and healing, the road of happiness, joy and peace.
Jesus brought all the peace we will ever need; so we must use it and serve it to others. He said, Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid (John 14:27). Divine peace is beyond man’s understanding. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7).
How do you get that divine peace?—through the Holy Ghost. For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost (Romans 14:17). If you want peace and joy every day, you must have the Holy Ghost. You cannot have them any other way.
Jesus walked the waters here on Earth. And in the fourth watch of the night Jesus went unto them [the disciples], walking on the sea (Matthew 14:25). And He gives us the power to walk the waters of life every day. We have nothing to fear or worry about as long as we turn everything over to Him. Jesus said, Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest (Matthew 11:28).
The Bible also says, Be careful [anxious] for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God (Philippians 4:6). I may have a problem as big as a mountain; but when I turn everything over to Him, I become a different person because I know I have left it in the hands of the One who can do anything.
That is living by faith; and the Bible says, The just shall live by faith (Romans 1:17), not by their feelings. But some of you think you are living by faith when you are not. You are only using human faith, and it will not always bring victory for you. Jesus called human faith “little faith.” O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt (Matthew 14:31)? The Bible says that we are not to go from faith to hope or faith to doubt but from faith to faith. Then the work will be done. For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith (Romans 1:17).
Through divine faith, we can have it all. Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ (Romans 5:1). By whom [Jesus] also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God (Romans 5:2). You base your faith on what you know about Jesus, and the Holy Ghost inside of you will help you do that.
Follow the Straight and Narrow
There are no detours for you on the high road; so if you want to be on it, you must make your crooked paths straight. And make straight paths for your feet, lest that which is lame be turned out of the way; but let it rather be healed (Hebrews 12:13). The high road is also narrow, but it is the only road that leads to eternal life. Strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it (Matthew 7:14).
The scriptures in God’s Word always fit together. No one scripture is of a private interpretation, and one verse will never contradict another verse. Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation (II Peter 1:20). Every word of the Bible is the truth because they all came from the Lord, and nothing less should go forth. Jesus said, Ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free (John 8:32).
God told me that every word He has ever spoken contains eternal life. Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God (Matthew 4:4). The statements that God has given can never be changed; and when you eat the Word and digest it, you will find that there is nothing like it. Thy words were found, and I did eat them; and thy word was unto me the joy and rejoicing of mine heart (Jeremiah 15:16). Hug the promises of God found in His Word to your heart and soul, and your body will receive the benefit. You have everything you need available to you, and all you have to do is reach for it.
Jesus was the Word made flesh and the very Son of God; but when He came to Earth, He told the disciples that His Father was their Father, too. And he [Jesus] said unto them, When ye pray, say, Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, as in heaven, so in earth (Luke 11:2). The Word confirms that we are heirs just like Jesus is. The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God: And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ (Romans 8:16,17). God has made us sons and daughters just like Jesus; but to remain His children, we must be led by the Spirit. For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons [or daughters] of God (Romans 8:14).
The End Is Near
Jesus brought us the faith, the power and the knowledge of the signs and wonders of His soon return and anointed us to watch for Him. He is coming only for those who are watching. Blessed are those servants, whom the lord when he cometh shall find watching: verily I say unto you, that he shall gird himself, and make them to sit down to meat, and will come forth and serve them (Luke 12:37).
When you are troubled in your spirit, open your Bible and read about the end-time signs that Jesus gave and see that they are all around you. Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh: So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it [my coming] is near, even at the doors (Matthew 24:32,33).
Jesus is at the door; but until He crosses the threshold, we are to take our burdens to Him and leave them there through faith. Cast thy burden upon the LORD, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved (Psalm 55:22). You may think you do not have any faith; but the Bible says, God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith (Romans 12:3). But you are not using that faith when you do only what you want to do.
If you have lost your job or are going through some other financial hardship, the Lord promised He would supply all of your needs if you have lived right, paid your tithes and given offerings to Him. But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:19). However, if you have failed God, you will have to suffer.
Answer God’s Call
You can have abundant peace and joy when you have unveiled vision and can see to walk the high road. Everything on that road comes from Heaven, and you must have it. If you are miserable and filled with the sins of this old world, you have to leave the road you are traveling on and get on the high road where God lives and will walk with you. You may choose to try many other roads, but none of them will work.
If you are a sinner or backslider today, you must give your heart to the Lord. The Bible says, The backslider in heart shall be filled with his own ways: and a good man shall be satisfied from himself (Proverbs 14:14). It also says, The soul that sinneth, it shall die (Ezekiel 18:20).
If you are on drugs or alcohol and trying to cover it up, remember that God knows everything. There are just two roads; so if you die in your sins, hell will be your destiny. Answer the call to surrender all today, and you will be so happy that you did.
Say this prayer right now. Oh, God, save my soul. I confess that I have sinned against you. I know you are the Christ and that you went to Calvary for me, but I have disgraced you and your holy name; and I am so sorry. I believe the blood of Jesus washes away all of my sins. Come into my heart, Jesus! Come on in! If you meant that prayer, Jesus is yours. You will never walk alone because He will hold your hand.
Now when Jesus comes the second time, you can be caught up to meet Him in the air. For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord (I Thessalonians 4:16,17). But you must have the Holy Ghost dwelling within you to have the power that will change you because the Bible says it is according to the power that worketh in us (Ephesians 3:20). The power cannot be around you; it has to be in you, so you must go on to seek for the baptism of the Holy Ghost.
The Miracle Road
Now it is time for all your needs to be supplied; so if you have a need today, turn it over to the Lord. He said, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth (Mark 9:23). Jesus went to the whipping post and paid for all the miracles and healings you need with His blood stripes. But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed (Isaiah 53:5).
Will you accept Jesus as the healer for your body? I did many years ago when I went to death’s door at the age of twenty-three. I watched my body go down to about a skeleton, and I thought for sure I was going to die. I was getting worse all the time, and more and more of my organs were being afflicted. Finally, I knew that I had only a few more days to live.
I didn’t know why the Lord was going to let me die because I had not committed one sin against Him since the day He had saved me, and I never intended to. Then suddenly one night, Jesus came to me Himself and told me I was going to live and have His healing ministry. He said that I would take His Gospel to the world, and I didn’t doubt it at all.
Later, the Lord let me know I had to go through that valley so that I would have the compassion needed to help sick and afflicted people all over the world. When I think about that great miracle, I can still see my eyes sunken way back into my head; but when Jesus came, it was all over. Since then, I have lived in such good health through the faith and love of God.
You can be healed, too, no matter what is wrong with you. God heals AIDS, cancer, heart trouble or any other deadly disease through this Jesus ministry just as if they were a slight headache. Don’t make it hard because so many people have been set free.
Lord, here they are. In your name, I come against these awful diseases. I use the blood of your Son, Jesus, to destroy AIDS in people’s bodies; and, Lord, you have already healed entire families of this disease. Heal the people of cancer, heart trouble, lung trouble, paralysis, diabetes and leprosy. You have done it for so many, Lord, so do it for the people right now. Heal! in the all-powerful, blood name of Jesus. Heal!
Feel the power of God going through your body right now. That is the same healing power that went through my body; and after all these years, I can still feel the greatness of that power moving in me. I thank God for my healthy body and for the strength He pours into me daily to do His work, and He will do the same thing for you because He promised to renew your youth. Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle’s (Psalm 103:5). Jesus conquered death, hell and the grave for us; so we have nothing to worry about. Death is swallowed up in victory. O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory (I Corinthians 15:54,55)?
Get well and watch your children get well. Then write or email me and tell me what God has done for you so I can rejoice with you.
Thus Saith the Lord
I told my servant what to teach you today; and if you will abide by what he has given you, you will be on my road. You will do my works day after day, and you will turn many to righteousness. I am sending you forth to bring in the final harvest. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. Only believe. All things are possible when you believe.
