True Worshipers of God
by Ernest Angley

The word “worship” means to show reverence, honor or devotion to; to regard a person or object as sacred to you; to praise, exalt or glorify. All people worship someone or something; and anyone who thinks they will never do that is already worshiping themselves. Self gets all of their devotion, honor and praise; and that selfish spirit comes straight from the devil.
Do you know who you worship? Jesus told the woman at the well, Ye worship ye know not what (John 4:22); and He could say the same thing to many people today. Paul addressed a group of people who didn’t know who they worshiped saying, Ye men of Athens, I perceive that in all things ye are too superstitious. For as I passed by, and beheld your devotions, I found an altar with this inscription, TO THE UNKNOWN GOD. Whom therefore ye ignorantly worship, him declare I unto you (Acts 17:22,23).
Paul went on to tell the people why they should worship God. God that made the world and all things therein, seeing that he is Lord of heaven and earth, dwelleth not in temples made with hands; Neither is worshipped with men’s hands, as though he needed anything, seeing he giveth to all life, and breath, and all things [There is no breath or life without God.]; And hath made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth, and hath determined the times before appointed, and the bounds of their habitation; That they should seek the Lord, if haply they might feel after him, and find him, though he be not far from every one of us (Acts 17:24-27).
The Lord is not far away; the divine blood has made Him very close. But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ (Ephesians 2:13). All those who will accept Christ can have the divine blood in their souls.
Worship in the Spirit
God wants people to be true worshipers of Him. When Jesus was here, He said, But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth (John 4:23,24). It is alarming that so many people have no truth or Spirit of God about them. They are like ships without sails moving with no help or direction and worshiping they know not what.
God is seeking people who will worship Him in spirit and in truth, and that is why it is so necessary to have the baptism of the Holy Ghost because He is the Spirit of truth. Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth (John 16:13). If the disciples had received the Holy Ghost before the night Jesus was arrested in the Garden of Gethsemane, they never would have gone to sleep on Him or denied Him.
You cannot be a true worshiper if the spirit and truth are not inside of you, and most people in the world today do not worship God the right way because they resist the Spirit of truth. Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you (John 14:17). The Holy Ghost must live in you, but those who are of the world cannot receive the Spirit; and that includes spiritually dead church people and preachers.
Stephen preached the Holy Ghost and truth, but the people resisted his message. Ye stiffnecked and uncircumcised in heart and ears, ye do always resist the Holy Ghost: as your fathers did, so do ye (Acts 7:51). Stephen gave his life to preach that last sermon because the people listening stoned him to death. The Holy Ghost living in him made him so much like Jesus that the Lord chose him to be the first martyr for the sake of Christ.
You must have the Spirit dwelling in you, too, so He can commune with you and teach you. You must become His hands, His eyes, His ears, His voice, His feet and His legs; and then He will pour Himself through you. You can have the whole Godhead walking inside of you. As God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people (II Corinthians 6:16). Paul said, I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me (Galatians 2:20).
Live in the Word
Many people think they can worship whoever, whatever and however they want as long as it seems right to them; but if they don’t worship God in truth, they will be headed for total destruction. There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death (Proverbs 14:12).
You must take God’s thoughts over your thoughts. For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts (Isaiah 55:8,9). The Lord’s thoughts are deep. O LORD, how great are thy works! and thy thoughts are very deep (Psalm 92:5). You will have your own thoughts, but you must take those thoughts to God to see if He agrees with them.
O LORD, I know that the way of man is not in himself: it is not in man that walketh to direct his steps (Jeremiah 10:23). Our steps are directed by either a higher power or a lower power. That is why it is a bad situation when you worship self because self can’t even direct his own steps.
God directs our steps through the Word, so you must study it. Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth (II Timothy 2:15). If there is something in the Word you don’t understand, stop and let the Holy Ghost teach you. You can always start by looking up the first time that subject is mentioned in the Bible, and that reference will give you more light on the subject.
When you study the scriptures the right way, one scripture explains another; and they will light your way as you go through the Word. Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path (Psalm 119:105). There should be no darkness on your path when you walk the walk of Heaven while you’re here on Earth.
You must dine on the Word daily. O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him (Psalm 34:8). The Word will taste sweet to a true believer. With honey out of the rock should I have satisfied thee (Psalm 81:16).
God told me that every word He has ever spoken has all the life of Heaven in it, and you can depend on it. The word of the Lord endureth forever. And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you (I Peter 1:25). God’s Word is truth; it is not philosophy, imagination, theory or speculation. Don’t listen to people’s opinions; listen to what God is saying, and the devil will never be able to deceive you in this final hour.
Know God
Draw nigh to [close to] God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double-minded (James 4:8). If God is not drawing close to you, it is because you are not drawing close to Him. Samuel told the Israelites, Your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear (Isaiah 59:2). God must be first in your life.
Do you really know God and His ways? The Bible says, For in him we live, and move, and have our being (Acts 17:28). How can you glorify, praise, honor or please someone you have spent no time getting to know? The Lord will take time with you if you will take time to reason with Him. Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD (Isaiah 1:18).
You must always stand in awe of God and worship Him with a grateful and humble heart, knowing He has a great plan for your life. Let all the earth fear the LORD: let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of him (Psalm 33:8). You can never feel above God, and you can never say or do anything against Him. Stand in awe, and sin not: commune with your own heart upon your bed, and be still. Selah (Psalm 4:4).
The Lord needs us to get still in His presence. And Moses said unto the people, Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the LORD (Exodus 14:13). Even so, some people don’t get still like the Bible teaches they should. Be still, and know that I am God (Psalm 46:10). Study to be quiet (I Thessalonians 4:11). You must get quiet before the Lord so He can commune with you.
Some of you do not get all you should out of your prayer life because you don’t talk to God as one person talks to another. If you have the Holy Ghost, He will put your requests through to the Father at any hour of the day or night. It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us (Romans 8:34).
The Holy Ghost is happy to make intercession for you when your burden is heavy. At times, He may even groan through you as He reaches the Father on the throne of grace who has all power for you and me. Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered (Romans 8:26). That groaning is not the groaning of a human but of the Spirit.
The Holy Ghost is your teacher and guide, but you must spend time with Him so He can teach you the truth. You cannot worship someone in truth if you don’t know the truth. And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free (John 8:32).
Paul Knew Truth
Before Paul was saved, he was the chief of sinners. This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief (I Timothy 1:15). But once Paul accepted the truth, he became one of the greatest apostles. He received all nine fruits and all nine gifts of the Spirit. He also wrote many books of the Bible, and every word he wrote is true because he received them straight from God through the power of the Holy Ghost.
The truth gave Paul such great love for souls that he said, And I will very gladly spend and be spent for you (II Corinthians 12:15). Paul was willing to give all of himself for souls. For though I be free from all men, yet have I made myself servant unto all [He did it willingly.], that I might gain the more. And unto the Jews I became as a Jew, that I might gain the Jews; to them that are under the law, as under the law [the Jesus law of love], that I might gain them that are under the law; To them that are without law, as without law, (being not without law to God, but under the law to Christ,) that I might gain them that are without law. To the weak became I as weak, that I might gain the weak: I am made all things to all men, that I might by all means save some. And this I do for the gospel’s sake, that I might be partaker thereof with you (I Corinthians 9:19-23).
Instead of criticizing people, Paul was willing to become whatever he needed to be in the Lord to help them. He offered himself willingly to God and to others so the Gospel could be preached to all people.
Timothy became Paul’s son in the Lord, and he took on Paul’s willing spirit. When Paul was getting ready to send Timothy to the saints in Philippi, he said, But I trust in the Lord Jesus to send Timotheus shortly unto you, that I also may be of good comfort, when I know your state. For I have no man likeminded, who will naturally care for your state. For all seek their own, not the things which are Jesus Christ’s. But ye know the proof of him, that, as a son with the father, he hath served with me in the gospel. Him therefore I hope to send presently (Philippians 2:19-23).
Get to know the Jesus you serve; and then you will be able to cry like Paul did, That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death (Philippians 3:10).
Jesus promised us the power of His resurrection when He said, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you (Matthew 28:18-20).
Study Jesus
Don’t let Jesus be a stranger to you because you cannot worship a stranger from your heart. And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments (I John 2:3). You must never stop learning about Jesus. We will be in Heaven for a trillion years and still not know all about the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost.
And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life (I John 5:20). Jesus was very God, yet He left His place beside the Father and laid aside His glorious robe of power and peace to bring perfect love to an audacious world. He came to give us understanding of divine truth, love, faith, grace and power; and we must put it all into action.
What kind of fruit do you show forth? The Bible says, Some men’s sins are open beforehand, going before to judgment; and some men they follow after. Likewise also the good works of some are manifest beforehand; and they that are otherwise cannot be hid (I Timothy 5:24,25).
To put Jesus into action in your life, you need to use all that He brought and taught and realize that you are nothing without Him. I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing (John 15:5).
Jesus is to be your everything, so you must take your burdens to Him. Jesus said, Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest (Matthew 11:28). Jesus will give you rest and protection. When my heart is overwhelmed: lead me to the rock [Christ Jesus] that is higher than I (Psalm 61:2). The only burden you should carry is the burden for the lost; and when you take that burden, the Lord may even wake you up at different times during the night to pray for lost souls all over the world. I always tell the Lord that I don’t want to live one minute longer if I can’t win souls.
God Hates Hypocrites
Just making a show of worshiping God through pretense and flattery is no good. The Bible says, They come unto thee as the people cometh, and they sit before thee as my people, and they hear thy words, but they will not do them: for with their mouth they shew much love, but their heart goeth after their covetousness [their desires] (Ezekiel 33:31). People like that have sat in the services at Grace Cathedral, but God always uncovers them in His time.
And, lo, thou art unto them as a very lovely song of one that hath a pleasant voice, and can play well on an instrument: for they hear thy words, but they do them not (Ezekiel 33:32). There are those who may act a certain way and be able to fool some people, but they can’t fool God because He knows who they really are. Hypocrites sicken His heart, and the only thing God will give them is damnation.
The scribes and Pharisees were hypocrites; and Jesus told them, Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye devour widows’ houses, and for a pretence make long prayer: therefore ye shall receive the greater damnation (Matthew 23:14). Not one speck of deceit will ever get through the gates of Glory.
Jesus talked of the scribes and Pharisees at another time saying, Well hath Esaias prophesied of you hypocrites, as it is written, This people honoureth me with their lips, but their heart is far from me (Mark 7:6). If you don’t worship God from your heart, God’s damnation will be upon you.
Take heed to yourselves, that your heart be not deceived, and ye turn aside, and serve other gods, and worship them (Deuteronomy 11:16). “Other gods” can be anything or anyone you give more time and attention to than God. Little children, keep yourselves from idols [other gods]. Amen (I John 5:21).
Satan loves people to worship him, so he makes a lot of false promises trying to get people to fall down before him. He even tried that on Jesus, so never think he won’t try it on you. The devil taketh him [Jesus] up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them; And [Satan] saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me. Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve (Matthew 4:8-10). The devil didn’t own any of those things; he was a liar. Jesus said, He [Satan] was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it (John 8:44).
Honor God
A true child of God will worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness. O worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness: fear before him, all the earth (Psalm 96:9). The fear the Psalmist referred to is holy fear, and that kind of fear doesn’t destroy; it magnifies the love and the faith of Heaven. It brings love that has no doubt, and it brings peace that makes you perfectly contented to be whatever God wants you to be.
You must take worshiping God seriously and know that He is the loving, faithful God who made you and gave you His amazing grace. Let us have grace, whereby we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear: For our God is a consuming fire (Hebrews 12:28,29). That consuming fire will take care of your enemies, so just turn them over to God.
God is greatly to be feared [honored] in the assembly of the saints [true children of God], and to be had in reverence of all them that are about him (Psalm 89:7). Do you honor God when you go to church, or do you whisper to others, pass notes, slouch down in your seat or send text messages to the wrong kinds of people? If you don’t honor God, you are on dangerous ground; and thus saith the Lord, damnation is about to fall. God is warning you and giving you a chance to get right.
God wants His children to honor and praise Him. I will praise the LORD according to his righteousness: and will sing praise to the name of the LORD most high (Psalm 7:17). True worshipers are not in a hurry to leave a real house of God, but some people are because they feel there is too much heavenly communion going on; and they are miserable.
Those who are really true to God love to linger in His presence honoring, praising and glorifying Him. Your prayer closet at home should be your special place to be with God as He prepares you in the morning for the day ahead and at nighttime to get the rest you need. When I am with the Lord, I lose sight of time because I am buried in His love and His grace; and I am dining on the Word.
You may not always feel like worshiping God, but by faith you do it because you know He is worthy. By faith, Abel worshiped the Lord and brought an acceptable sacrifice before Him—the first offspring of the flock. By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, by which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts: and by it he being dead yet speaketh (Hebrews 11:4).
Cain became jealous because God would not accept his sacrifice, but God knew that what Cain had offered was not really much of a sacrifice. Cain did not have to work very hard for it because he had just offered up the fruit that grew from the Earth or the trees, and there was plenty of it in that day. On the other hand, Abel had worked hard to raise the lambs, kill them, dress them and offer them on the altar of sacrifice. That is why Abel is in Heaven today; and Cain, no doubt, is in hell.
Willingly Offer Yourself
If you are a true worshiper of God, you will willingly offer yourself to Him. “Willingly” means being eager to perform without reluctance; quick to act or respond; doing something without having to be persuaded or begged. “Offer” in this case means an expression of readiness. You are ready to fill any need that God has and to do anything He wants you to at any time.
Deborah and Barak sang these words after their small Israelite army had won a great victory over a huge army of Canaanites. Praise ye the LORD for the avenging of Israel, when the people willingly offered themselves. My heart is toward the governors of Israel, that offered themselves willingly among the people. Bless ye the LORD (Judges 5:2,9). That victory came about because the people willingly gave themselves to the Lord, the great I-Am.
When people willingly offer themselves to do God’s will and not their own, the Lord’s hands are free to move in miraculous ways. In Gideon’s day, the 300 soldiers who offered themselves completely to God defeated the enemy’s army of thousands without even using one weapon. What was the secret? They stood every man in his place round about the camp; and all the host ran, and cried, and fled (Judges 7:21). Thousands of soldiers ran for their lives because of just 300 obedient men.
You can put the devil on the run like that, too, when you willingly do things for the Lord and stand in your place. The Lord has a special place for everyone; and He will put you in that place if you truly want to do His will, not your own. No matter what I have planned, I always drop my plans to do what God wants me to do; and I do it willingly.
When the Lord wakes me up to do something for Him, it doesn’t matter what time it is or how short a time it has been since I went to sleep; I am ready to go for Him. The Bible says to pray one for another (James 5:16), and the Lord will let us know when He needs us to do that.
Serve Cheerfully
True worshipers are the ones who find the divine will of God for their lives, not just His permissible will. My wife, Angel, and I never wanted the permissible will of God, not even when it came to our engagement and marriage. We wanted only the divine will of God. Those who reluctantly offer themselves to God usually do not go beyond God’s permissible will, if they even get that far; and walking in God’s permissible will hinders Him from moving for them.
If you ask someone to do something and they do it begrudgingly, that will not bless you as much as if they would have done it cheerfully. It takes all the joy out of something when you know a person is doing it because of necessity or obligation. If you are married, doesn’t it make your heart rejoice when your mate volunteers their love, their help and their devotion? Angel and I always wanted to bless each other.
God loves those who give with a happy heart because He knows they have given all and that He comes first, so you must cheerfully do what God wants you to and never complain about it. Paul said, Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver (II Corinthians 9:7). Many have used that scripture to refer to only money, but it applies to all areas of your life. You must cheerfully give your soul first of all and then your mind, your body and your finances.
The Lord honors all the tithes and offerings you give to Him for souls. Give unto the LORD the glory due unto his name: bring an offering, and come before him: worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness (I Chronicles 16:29). The hearts of God, Jesus and the Holy Ghost are focused on winning souls; and they join you in blessings when you give to bring in the lost. Those who give with their whole hearts will be rewarded in greater ways than most preachers because many of them don’t give to God like they should.
Obey God in All Things
And thou, Solomon my son, know thou the God of thy father, and serve him with a perfect heart and with a willing mind: for the LORD searcheth all hearts, and understandeth all the imaginations of the thoughts: if thou seek him, he will be found of thee; but if thou forsake him, he will cast thee off forever (I Chronicles 28:9). This is what God is calling for from people today, too. Those who do these things will be blessed by the Lord and go deeper and deeper with Him.
Dwell on the part of that verse that says, If thou seek him, he will be found of thee. That is a wonderful promise; so don’t cry out, “God, where are you?” Instead, just get still and know that He is right there with you. For he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee (Hebrews 13:5). Notice the word “never.” God will always be with you if you serve Him and trust Him, but some of you will trust people for something before you will trust God for it.
Look at the end of I Chronicles 28:9 again which says, But if thou forsake him, he will cast thee off forever. If you want God to move for you, you have to put God ahead of all people; but Solomon did not always do that. Solomon backslid by taking many wives from nations that God had told him not to, and God may have cast him off forever.
You have to be willing to consecrate your service unto the Lord. When the Lord needed His temple to be built, David asked the people, And who then is willing to consecrate his service this day unto the LORD? Then the chief of the fathers and princes of the tribes of Israel and the captains of thousands and of hundreds, with the rulers of the king’s work, offered willingly, And gave for the service of the house of God of gold five thousand talents and ten thousand drams, and of silver ten thousand talents, and of brass eighteen thousand talents, and one hundred thousand talents of iron. And they with whom precious stones were found gave them to the treasure of the house of the LORD, by the hand of Jehiel the Gershonite. Then the people rejoiced, for that they offered willingly, because with perfect heart they offered willingly to the LORD: and David the king also rejoiced with great joy (I Chronicles 29:5-9). The people willingly sacrificed all of that to be used for the house of the Lord.
David went on to say, I know also, my God, that thou triest the heart, and hast pleasure in uprightness. As for me, in the uprightness of mine heart I have willingly offered all these things: and now have I seen with joy thy people, which are present here, to offer willingly unto thee (I Chronicles 29:17). When you do the will of God, you will receive joy from Heaven.
I rejoice when people volunteer in the right spirit to do things for the work of God. It blesses my heart, and I know it blesses God; and He will bless them in return. You can never out-give God, so always be happy to give yourself to the Lord and to do His will just as the Psalmist was. I delight to do thy will, O my God (Psalm 40:8).
That was the cry of the apostles in the Early Church who said, But we will [we are willing to] give ourselves continually to prayer, and to the ministry of the word (Acts 6:4). True ministers of the Gospel must give themselves to prayer, fasting and the ministry of the Word, too, so they can bless and feed their congregations. They must serve a great banquet of truth, life, love, peace, joy, wisdom, knowledge, understanding and all the things of God.
Jesus Was Willing
Jesus is our example, and He was a true worshiper who willingly offered Himself to the Father in so many ways. Whenever He said, “I will,” He meant He was willing; and He said that so many times. There came a leper and worshipped him [Jesus], saying, Lord, if thou wilt, thou canst make me clean. And Jesus put forth his hand, and touched him, saying, I WILL; be thou clean. And immediately his leprosy was cleansed (Matthew 8:2,3).
And when Jesus was entered into Capernaum, there came unto him a centurion, beseeching him, And saying, Lord, my servant lieth at home sick of the palsy, grievously tormented. And Jesus saith unto him, I WILL come and heal him (Matthew 8:5-7).
When the Pharisees saw Jesus eating with publicans and sinners, they said unto his disciples, Why eateth your Master with publicans and sinners? But when Jesus heard that, he said unto them, They that be whole need not a physician, but they that are sick. But go ye and learn what that meaneth, I WILL have mercy (Matthew 9:11-13).
All these things spake Jesus unto the multitude in parables; and without a parable spake he not unto them: That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying, I WILL open my mouth in parables; I WILL utter things which have been kept secret from the foundation of the world (Matthew 13:34,35). And Jesus did just that.
Jesus said to Peter, I WILL give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven (Matthew 16:19). What are the keys to the Kingdom?—love, faith, the divine blood, peace and much more. Through Jesus, we have the keys that unlock the doors of Heaven. Then we can go through the gates of Glory with our prayers while our minds and souls are rejoicing.
If you are a true worshiper of God and you willingly serve Him with all of your heart, He will do anything for you. Jesus said, If ye shall ask anything in my name, I WILL do it (John 14:14). That is quite a promise Jesus gave, and He did mean anything. That should give you great faith for whatever you need spiritually, financially or physically. Jesus said, But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings (Malachi 4:2). Don’t let pain hinder you because Jesus will heal you. He went to the whipping post for you, and He came to Earth with healing in His wings.
Jesus will not only heal you; He will give you eternal life. I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live forever: and the bread that I WILL give is my flesh, which I WILL give for the life of the world (John 6:51). Jesus willingly gave His flesh for all mankind, and those who accept Him will soon be with Him forever. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I WILL come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also (John 14:3).
Jesus wants all people to be with Him, so we must be soul winners like He was. And Jesus said unto them, Come ye after me, and I WILL make you to become fishers of men (Mark 1:17). We must be able to say, “Lord, we will go anywhere you want us to go and win souls for you. We will never say no.” Then Jesus will save all the souls we bring to Him. Him that cometh to me I WILL in no wise cast out (John 6:37).
When Jesus’ dispensation here on Earth was about to end, He said, I WILL not leave you comfortless: I WILL come to you (John 14:18). Jesus knew the Holy Ghost’s dispensation was about to begin, and He promised the Holy Ghost to all those who would seek Him. For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call (Acts 2:39).
You Must Separate
We are living in the last hour, and part-time willingness will not work. The Holy Ghost dispensation is about to end, so you must worship the Lord with your whole heart and do everything He wants you to. Jesus willingly offered Himself in life and in death. He didn’t come to Earth to do His own will but the Father’s will. Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done (Luke 22:42).
Jesus gave everything for us, so should we not be willing to offer ourselves on the altar of sacrifice for Him? I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service (Romans 12:1).
We are to be the Lord’s hands, feet and eyes; We are to have His mind and His tongue of fire, but none of that will be possible unless we separate from the world. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God (Romans 12:2). We must allow our minds to be renewed through the Spirit of God. Then we must carry that transforming power to the people on the mission fields so it can transform them, too.
We who are true worshipers of God cannot be like the world. We must separate from family, friends and all those who reject God. Jesus said, For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law. And a man’s foes shall be they of his own household (Matthew 10:35,36). If you don’t separate from your ungodly family members, you will be in deep trouble with Heaven.
Some of you feel more obligated to your kin than you do to God, and you think you have to be with them on special days when you should be in church. There are those who get insulted when I mention it to them, but their blood is not going to be on my hands; and Paul said the same thing about those he came in contact with. Wherefore I take you to record this day, that I am pure from the blood of all men. For I have not shunned to declare unto you all the counsel of God (Acts 20:26,27).
Be a Witness
I will call them [the Gentiles] my people, which were not my people; and her beloved, which was not beloved (Romans 9:25). The Jews were God’s chosen people, but the Lord adopted the Gentiles into His family. He didn’t have to do that, but He loved us so much that He wanted us in His family; so we must love and obey Him in return.
He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him (John 14:21). If you are a child of God, you can expect the Lord to manifest Himself to you in different ways. It may be through angels, the Holy Ghost, or miracles and healings.
A woman recently came into the prayer line with a crippled hand that she could not even raise above her waist. The Lord moved on me to take her thumb and stroke it; and when I did, the Lord made it straight right before my eyes. Then the Lord moved on me to take one of her fingers and do the same thing, and it became straight, too. That woman had traveled many miles to get that miracle, and just think how she must have felt. God made a witness out of her, and I know she will tell people about her miracle. God is going to heal so many people in this final hour; and when people see miracles, it brings them to God.
Christ’s day is here again, and we have to be His voice on Earth. John the Baptist had that voice in the wilderness, but our voices must be louder and reach more people. The Gospel must go all over the world through voices that are pure and holy and full of the faith of God; but to be one of those voices, you must be a true worshiper of God and willingly obey Him in everything. Thus saith the Lord, true children of God must make up that great voice that is the loudest sound on Earth today.
God is giving His people everything He can in this final hour because He wants us to carry the Gospel and the testimony of His powerful anointings to people all over the world. The Word must flow through us like mighty rivers to make a sea of grace promises for all people. Jesus said, He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water (John 7:38).
This is the pouring-out time that Jesus spoke of. And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh (Acts 2:17). But so many people will not accept this great outpouring of the Spirit. They put up their umbrellas of doubt because they don’t want the Spirit to fall on them, so they will be left when Jesus comes.
God Is the Almighty
God does not want the Bride to be concerned with anything or anyone but winning the lost. Jesus said, Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls (Matthew 11:29). Give your burdens to Him, and He will take them. Turn your enemies over to God, and He will pay them off. For it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord (Romans 12:19).
God does not want us to struggle with thoughts of our troubles or our enemies; He wants us to think on these things. Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things (Philippians 4:8). Memorize these things and know that you don’t have to have any thought that goes against them.
We are at war, but the devil can’t defeat us because God can do anything. Some of you may come back to Earth with Jesus to fight the greatest war that has ever been—the Battle of Armageddon. All the saints will be on white horses, and the devil and his demons will not be able to defeat them. The horses will be able to fly, and they won’t be limited to time or space. That is what God can do. And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war. And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean (Revelation 19:11,14).
If you will just open up your mind to the Lord, He will take you higher and higher in Him. Then you will become excited over His wonderful powers and know without a doubt that He will not withhold any good thing from those who love and serve Him. No good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly (Psalm 84:11). In the end, God will give a crown of life to all those who chose to follow Him. I will give thee a crown of life (Revelation 2:10).
Paul really believed that, and he gave his all for the cause of Christ. Before going to Nero’s chopping block, Paul told Timothy, I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing (II Timothy 4:6-8). Paul wanted Timothy to be a good soldier of the Cross, too.
Jesus Will Come
Jesus is about to come for His children, and true worshipers of God will be the ones who will go with Him. What a hallelujah time that will be! No undertakers will need to be called to pick up our bodies because they will be glorified in a moment. If the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit [the Holy Spirit] that dwelleth in you (Romans 8:11).
Death will have no dominion over us. Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more; death hath no more dominion over him (Romans 6:9). When Jesus gave His life on Calvary, He conquered death, hell and the grave. Death is swallowed up in victory. O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory? But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ (I Corinthians 15:54,55,57).
Jesus said He was coming for those who are watching for Him. Blessed are those servants, whom the lord when he cometh shall find watching: verily I say unto you, that he shall gird himself, and make them to sit down to meat, and will come forth and serve them (Luke 12:37). So you must always be ready. In such an hour as ye think not, the Son of man cometh (Matthew 24:44).
Jesus is coming only for those who are spotless. That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish (Ephesians 5:27). A blemish can be as tiny as a piece of sand in your eye, but look at all the trouble that one piece of sand can cause.
On Rapture Day, those of us who are without spot will rise to meet Jesus in the air; and He will have our loved ones who have died in the Lord with Him. For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord (I Thessalonians 4:16,17).
Are You Willing?
You must not say, “I wish I could find the will of God.” Why—because you would not be saying that if you really wanted God’s will. You don’t have to feel like doing something in order to be willing to do it, and many times you won’t feel like doing certain things; but your faith will make you willing. I don’t like to travel, but I will do it for God and to win souls.
Jesus didn’t feel like walking Calvary’s path, but He was willing. Abraham didn’t feel like leaving his kin, but he was willing. By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither he went. By faith he sojourned in the land of promise, as in a strange country, dwelling in tabernacles with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise: For he looked for a city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker is God (Hebrews 11:8-10).
Abraham waited twenty-five years for Isaac to be born, and I’m sure he didn’t feel like offering him on the altar of sacrifice; but he was willing. By faith Abraham, when he was tried, offered up Isaac; and he that had received the promises offered up his only begotten son, Of whom it was said, That in Isaac shall thy seed be called: Accounting that God was able to raise him up, even from the dead; from whence also he received him in a figure (Hebrews 11:17-19).
No one feels like suffering persecutions, but we must be willing to go through them for the sake of Christ. Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution (II Timothy 3:12). Jesus suffered for us, and we must be willing to pay the price for Him.
Adversities will come in this life, but they will make you stronger in the Lord if you face them God’s way. The Lord wants His children to trample devils underfoot and make them run. Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you (Luke 10:19).
You are going to be tried, but only through trials will you know whether or not your faith is any good. Wherein ye greatly rejoice, though now for a season, if need be, ye are in heaviness through manifold temptations: That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ (I Peter 1:6,7). Jesus gives you the patience you need to stand against anything that comes your way.
Never allow human feelings to rob you of being a true worshiper who is willing to do the whole will of God. Let faith be the stepping stone that will take you beyond your feelings and make you willing to go all the way with God. But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him (Hebrews 11:6).
The Bible does not say that those who feel like doing God’s will shall eat the good of the land; it says, If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land (Isaiah 1:19). It is possible for you to be willing but not be obedient, and that won’t work. You must be eager to perform God’s will without reluctance and be quick to respond and act at any time without having to be persuaded.
If you love the Lord and serve Him but just don’t feel willing to do all He wants of you, God will work His willingness in you if you want it with all of your heart. For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure (Philippians 2:13).
Jesus said, And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart (Jeremiah 29:13). Your search for Him has to come from your heart. Some people say they are saved, but their hearts do not hunger for the Holy Ghost. That means they don’t really want Him; and without Him, they will be left behind when Jesus comes.
Let God Use You
Thus saith the Lord, this is God’s Word to you straight from the throne. I pray that this message will encourage you to take a deeper look into how you worship and give yourself to the Lord. You have to know how to receive more and more of His power; and through profound devotion and reverence, you must seek His face and worship Him in spirit and in truth. Then He will use you because you will be a true member of the body of Christ. For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones (Ephesians 5:30).
You must let God use you however He wants to; and when He does use you, all the honor and glory must go to Him. He will direct you to serve in different ways. He may use your eyes one time and your ears another, and He will be able to use any part of you at any time if you are living in His Spirit and truth.
The Lord is inviting you to come to Him today, but it could be your last invitation. If you need salvation, say this prayer right now: Oh, God, save my soul. I am so sorry I sinned against you, but I have come home. I confess that I am lost. I confess all my sins, and I beg your forgiveness. I believe the blood of Jesus washes away all of my sins. Come into my heart, Jesus. Come on in, Jesus, and have your way in my life. I want your will to be done in my life and all the tomorrows I have left. If you meant that prayer, Jesus has come. Start reading your Bible, praying, loving God and doing His will.
Be Willing to Receive a Miracle
If you or your little one is sick and afflicted, the Lord said, I am the Lord that healeth thee (Exodus 15:26). But if you talk about sickness, you will stay sick. If you want sympathy, you will not be healed; and if you pout at God, you will get nowhere. Jesus said, If thou wouldest believe, thou shouldest see the glory of God (John 11:40).
I am not the healer; I am just the Lord’s believer, and He has given me His gifts to use to help people. He pours His power through me, and it works His will for people. It is divinity at work, and He confirms it. I preach the Word and tell people what God has said, and it works.
Lord, I bring the people to you today. I bring those who are bound with heart trouble, diabetes, cancer or AIDS, those who are paralyzed, blind or crippled. I bring the little ones who are diseased, deformed or born with just part of a brain. Make them all well today. In the name of Jesus, heal! In the holy, mighty, all-powerful name of Jesus, heal!
God’s power is flowing into your bodies, so watch yourself or your little one get well. Give God all the honor, the praise and the glory; and then write or email and tell me about it. We will rejoice with you. It is wonderful to hear from people and know they have been healed, saved or delivered by the divine hand of our Lord. How marvelous He is!
A Message from the Lord
Thus saith the Lord, my prophet has given you my Word, not his. He has told you the truth, and you have to decide if you want me with all your heart. If you do, you will be accepted; but until then, you are lost. Don’t let the devil deceive you any longer and make you think you are all right. You are not all right; you haven’t given your whole heart to me, saith the Lord.
I am so nigh unto you that if you really wanted me, you would reach out for me with all of your heart. You would be willing to do my will, not yours. You would feel the urgency of this period of time that you are in and the need to get this Gospel to the whole world with signs, wonders, miracles and healings. I have called you again and again, but I won’t call some of you anymore.
Reach up your hands now, and God will touch you with a fresh anointing. Thus saith the Lord, it will be an anointing of truth, a moment of the greatness of Heaven. Reach up. Heaven is within your reach, saith the Lord. Let the Lord know He can count on you to help get this Gospel to the whole world, and He can count on you to be ready for the Rapture.
