Treasure the Anointing
by Ernest Angley
October 1986
And grieve not the Holy Spirit of God (Ephesians 4:30). This verse says it all. Grieve not the Holy Spirit of God. Anything unholy, unrighteous, impure, unclean will grieve the Holy Spirit of God. What does this verse mean—not to grieve the Holy Spirit?—to not burden the Holy Spirit with disobedience. Just one act of disobedience on your part burdens the Holy Spirit. Don’t oppress His greatness, His Spirit working in you.
Disobedience affects the Holy Spirit with deep sorrow. If you sadden the Holy Spirit, the time will come when you too will experience sadness, a sadness that could have been avoided. The results of your reaching out for that which tarnishes your treasured anointing are results you refuse to look at lest they hinder your reach. Willfulness grieves the Holy Spirit, making Him distressed. He is a person; He feels, hears, speaks, thinks.
Have you ever been grieved? It made you sad; you mourned with tears. To grieve the Holy Spirit causes Him intense emotional suffering. He sees the loss for God’s Kingdom your actions are causing. Son, daughter, husband, wife or perhaps strangers may be affected, even losing their souls because of your disobedience. You’re turning out His light and it grieves Him.
Grieving the Holy Spirit brings disaster in this final hour, disaster in the lives of people who need help, people with whom you come in contact. You’re touching them, influencing them the wrong way—how grieved the Holy Spirit is! You reach out to give that human touch, a touch of disobedience rather than the touch of the Holy Spirit. It’s a touch of failure. The touch of God’s hope, faith and love is not felt. His love is described in the thirteenth chapter of I Corinthians, His faith in the eleventh chapter of Hebrews.
Not only on Earth but also in Heaven great sorrow is caused by grieving the Holy Spirit—sorrow in the heart of God—sorrow in the crucified One. Grieving the Spirit is the same as crucifying Jesus anew, as though you were taking the hammer and driving home the nails. You are disobedient; you are going against the will of God, causing hardship for the Holy Spirit and damaging the cause of Christ for which He has worked so carefully.
A Called-Out People
Patiently He has worked with you. You have been called out from the world, called out from sin, from the works of the flesh. You’re called into the holiness of God to be a witness, a witness to His love, a witness to His delivering power, to tell what Calvary has done for you and what it will do for others. You’ve been called out to show people the narrow road to Heaven just as Jesus pointed the way when He was here on Earth. You’ve been called out to be a witness to His healing power and His miracles today, called out so that the signs and wonders of God can be revealed through you, a believer. You’re a called-out believer from the unbelievers, called out by the Spirit of God.
God’s anointing has changed your life if you have accepted it and have been made a new creation in Christ. No longer covered with sin, no longer contaminated with the world, you’ve heeded the call of Christ: Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate (II Corinthians 6:17). God has revealed to me that His people are a called-out people and must be a holy people, truly consecrated and dedicated to God.
So many things in life we treasure; in fact, we are an outright “let’s-go-out-and-buy-more-things” society. It’s the way of life in America. However, if you’re not careful, those possessions will be more valuable to you than the most priceless of all treasures, the anointing of God. You have something more precious than billions of dollars if you have the anointing of God. When the Rapture takes place, all wealth, all treasures will be left behind, all houses, all lands, all properties. Only the anointing of God will go up with you.
Too Late to Start Over
Never contaminate His anointing, thinking you can always run back to receive more. It won’t work. You cannot shame Him one day and lift Him up the next: It grieves the Holy Spirit. In the past have you fasted and wasted, fasted and wasted the anointing of God? By carelessness, indifference and disobedience have you lost ground with God? Spending hours and hours seeking God to receive His Holy anointing, did you then value it? Some of you have let the works of the flesh come along and draw you in. You lost all that you had gained. Then you have to start all over again to seek the deepness of God, but it’s a late hour now to keep starting over. If you continue to get stuck in “starts-and-fits,” you’ll be left. You’re in danger of grieving the Holy Spirit for the final time now, saith the Lord. You can grieve Him one time too many, and He won’t bother with you anymore. He will just let you go. The discipline of the Holy Spirit, the Lord told me months ago, is going to be very severe. The Lord let me know judgments would fall in this final hour—judgments. He let me know that He would reject people, that He wouldn’t continue as He has in the past, that people will not be able to fail and fail and fail and still come back to take their place in God. It wouldn’t be there. He couldn’t use them when He needed. He will reject them.
It’s now or never. Treasure what you have or forget it. Keep your spiritual vision or go blind forever. Speak the things of God, or ignore what God has said. Be consecrated and dedicated to God, lifted out of self into Jesus, or go your own way. It’s time to be clean, clean and pure, time to decide that you can claim God’s promises. If you don’t have the anointing of God in your life, order up at once. Soon you won’t have time to start anew.
The Lord told the parable of the ten virgins (recorded in Matthew 25). He said five were wise, five foolish. All were virgins, all pure and clean; but five had neglected to put oil in their lamps. The Holy Spirit wasn’t bubbling in their hearts; they had failed to receive the oil of the Holy Spirit. Oh, yes, they knew about the oil; and at the last moment went to get it. It was too late. When they came back, the Rapture had taken place; the Bride had already gone into the bridal chamber. Pounding on the door to no avail, the five foolish virgins had missed the catching-away hour. They found—like, oh, so many are going to find—that it was too late to start over. Will you be one who too late seeks the oil of the Spirit? Because of the greatness of God some of you, like the five foolish virgins, will have your eyes opened in this final hour; but you will have waited too long to receive the Holy Ghost. While you are involved in the busy-work of this world, the Rapture is going to take place. The Lord said it would be that way, and the words of the Lord are true.
The Dangling Carrot
The devil does whatever he can to drag you away from the treasured anointing. Anything and everything will be used. As a carrot is dangled in front of a donkey to get him to move, the devil hangs every enticement before your eyes, bringing all kinds of thoughts to mind, trying to get you to value just anything more than God. The devil doesn’t care what you put ahead of God—home, friends, family, money…anything—just so God isn’t first. He knows if he can distract you from keeping God first in your life you will not make the Rapture. Then, if you miss the Rapture, he knows there is every possibility of claiming you for his own forever.
For those who miss the Rapture it will be like all hell boiling over. When the devil is cast down on this earth and the Antichrist makes his appearance, the earth will be filled with demon power. The cults, the occult have come forth with a preview of the gushing out, the spewing out of their vomit. Again and again on television and radio, in newspapers and private sittings, psychics are being asked for advice. Demon-possessed people come into homes through many means with the dangling carrot. Learn what to look at on television and what not to look at. You are going to have to learn, saith the Lord, what to read and what not to read. In times past some of you have reached over, feeding your minds things they never should have been exposed to; and now the devil has come into your homes, into your lives through television. Sexual intercourse is shown right on the screen; part of the time a sheet may conceal the act—or it may not. Nude scenes are common. It will get worse. Sodom, Gomorrah and the days of Noah are all rolled up into one now, cannonballing right into every heart, every life that will accept that way of life. God gave television to spread His Gospel to the whole world. He gave it for a good purpose, but the devil is using it as much as he can for evil. TV: the classic dangling carrot. How do you use television in your home? What sort of programming do you let in?
Test with the Spirit of God what is coming over your television. If the program goes against the Spirit of God, turn it off. Do not take a chance on that which does not edify and bless you. Watching programs that are destructive, damnable will destroy you. When you enter a store, be careful the kinds of magazines you pick up; you’ll be tempted by the exciting catch lines, the sensual pictures. Between those covers can lurk damnation, death. You wouldn’t take a bottle of poison, drink a little at a time and say, “I don’t really believe this will kill me,” would you? If it doesn’t kill you, it can make you terribly sick. Is that what you want? Sick Christians abound today, too weak to be able to overcome. Decide to accept the reality of this hour, an hour of God’s holiness or hell. The newsstands are filled with all kinds of books, novels on sex. Are you going to read the filth that is being poured out by demons through human minds? Those paperbacks are everywhere. Sure, they will excite you sexually; sure, they will tantalize you. Is that what you want? It will tarnish your anointing.
What movies do you attend? Most of them are filled with cursing, violence, sex and foulness. If there is any edification for a child of God in those types of movies, it’s certainly not evident; yet even some Christians stretch their necks for a better look. Every time you reach out, spend time with the wrong thing, you damage your anointing of God. At first that reach will put such a thin, fine film over your anointing that you won’t even notice it; you won’t know what it is doing to you. Kneeling down to pray, you still feel God; and so you consider yourself justified. Partial yielding to God won’t work in this final hour. The choice is yours: God or the pleasures of this world. You can have whatever you want. If you want to view intercourse on the screen, you can rent a video cassette and take it home. You want it? Order it up; but what kind of mind do you have? No one will ever know? The Holy Spirit can be grieved only so many times before He will move out, taking His flight. How sad. He will leave you. You will not be a part of the church described in Ephesians 5:27: A glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but…holy and without blemish. All disobedience, all blemishes will be gone from the Bride.
The Seal Can Be Broken
In this urgent hour, our anointing from God must be great to prepare and ready us for the coming of the Lord. How tragic if you miss the Rapture because you did not treasure the anointing, because you broke that precious seal of blood protecting you! The horror of being spewed into the Tribulation Period will be beyond belief. How many sit under the searchlight of God’s Word but do not heed it? Do you not realize you are actually an end-time person; has the devil deceived you to believe otherwise? No matter where you are with God, the devil can deceive you if you do not keep in with God daily. Eve was a perfect woman, Adam a perfect man; but the devil deceived them. Why? They listened to him. Day after day Satan lured Eve to his lecture room. What was his theme? “God didn’t really mean what He said. You won’t surely die if you partake. See this gorgeous fruit? It will make you wise. You’ll never know real happiness until you experience this. Why should God save it for Himself? He doesn’t want you to have it, but why don’t you go ahead and take a bite while God isn’t looking? There won’t be a thing God can do about it! You have two hands; you can reach out. See how easy the fruit is to pluck?” No doubt the devil showed Eve again and again how easy it was to pick the fruit. It wasn’t sealed with an unbreakable seal of God. The seal of God in your life can be broken, too—by your disobedience. And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption (Ephesians 4:30). You are sealed for that redemption day; but if you grieve the Holy Spirit, that seal can certainly be broken.
What are you going to do with the anointing? It’s easy to play with the anointing of God if you allow yourself. The only way to treasure that anointing is to turn completely away from sin, to never look back again. In the past when God’s judgments have been about to fall, His instructions were: “Don’t look back!” Lot’s wife looked back to the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah, and it meant her death. Now it’s life for a look if you look to Calvary; but when judgment is on your heels, looking back means death.
Are you one who has looked back? Although some of you have been very weak, God has been patient, loving and kind. However, when you tie God’s hands by disobedience, it gives the devil the liberty he wants to come after you, to take you over. Don’t break the seal of God in your life.
Are You the Enemy in the Camp?
In this late hour, determine in your heart that you will give joy to the Lord through the Holy Spirit in your life, that you will give hope to all around you as you tell the story of Jesus. Be a pure, clean witness; live holy with no speck in your life day or night. The all-seeing eye of God beholds you continually.
You can’t play with sin any longer; close all the doors. God has come to the place now where it’s all-out dedication, saith the Lord; it’s consecration.
Your tongue must have the bridle of the Holy Spirit. Some of you have grieved the Holy Spirit, saying words you shouldn’t have said, telling “tales out of school.” You’re not going to make the Rapture like that. Do you think you have the liberty to say whatever you please; do you brag about it? It isn’t right. You have no license to hurt others with your tongue; people suffer enough because of the devil without human beings hurting each other. You as a child of God should be handing out love, forgiveness. Jesus said God would forgive us as we forgive others. Give mercy as the Master gave mercy; don’t tongue-lash; don’t gossip behind backs. In this final hour, we cannot afford the enemy in God’s camp. If you are going to be an enemy to God’s work, to God’s Word, to God’s servants, for God’s sake, get outside the camp! Don’t pretend. If you don’t believe in the whole Word of God, why say you do?
The Bible asks, Can two walk together, except they be agreed? (Amos 3:3). More than two are walking together in this end-time hour, and agreement must be in the camp. When the Early Church was in one mind and one accord, the great miracles took place; and in our day, through the church binding as one, acting out the whole truth of God, God’s miracle power will be poured down.
This also is an hour of arrogance, an hour of disobedience, of unfaithfulness. Never has there been such a time when so many homes are on the rocks, torn to pieces, when so many husbands and wives are unfaithful to their companions. Never has there been a time when so many young boys and girls are having intercourse before marriage as now. But it’s still just as wrong as it’s ever been. Demons are working; demons have taken over many, many minds, turning people more animal than human. They just don’t care. The devil will make you think anything is all right if you can get by with it. What you must do, saith the Lord, is take pride in His anointing, take pride in His gifts and fruits. How terrible to think that you, Child of God, could be the enemy in the camp!
The Perfecting of the Saints
But unto every one of us is given grace according to the measure of the gift of Christ (Ephesians 4:7). We’re all given grace; there is no excuse for sin. Yet this is the most excusing hour for wrong-doing and disobedience that has ever been. Some ministers on television make you think you can do whatever you want and then just say, “God, forgive me.” They claim you cannot live free from sin. The devil never told a bigger lie.
Wherefore he saith, When he ascended up on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men…For the perfecting of the saints (verses 8,12,13). If there were no chance of perfection in God’s love, why does the Bible tell us this? For the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ. All things that we do from here on out must be toward perfection. There’s no looking back if you do not want to be destroyed. Burn all bridges; close every door behind you. Learn how to walk with Jesus. I had to learn it; it took time. Thousands of hours I spent with Him in prayer, in studying His Words, in fastings—numbers of them going forty days at a time. I was seeking after Jesus, not the will of man; because it was through the will of man that so much doubt covered His steps when He was here on earth, so much unbelief, so much disobedience.
Man had taught me many things, some good, some bad, some I had to unlearn; but through the power of the Holy Ghost, I sat at the feet of Jesus as He taught me the greatness and the gifts of God. He trained me to cast out devils, to minister to the sick, to believe. He instructed me how to help others, to never compromise no matter how much it hurt or what it cost: For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ. Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ.
The Gathering of the Bride
Now the Bride is being brought together. How?—through love perfected, through untarnished anointing. She is being brought together into unity in His faith and knowledge, the same knowledge Jesus used when He was here on planet Earth, unto a perfect man. We the Bride will stand, saith the Lord, just as Christ stood on earth. There was no shaking, no changing Him. There was no contaminating Him; and, thus saith the Lord, the Bride in this final hour, the Bride that will be caught away, will stand in all the faith, in all the holiness, in all the love, in all the purity that Jesus stood in when He was here on planet Earth. The Bride will preach the same Gospel, practice the same Gospel, carry the same Gospel to the people that Jesus did. There will be, saith the Lord, the same results. And just as He ascended, saith the Lord, the Bride of Christ will ascend. Just as He was caught away, when the proper moment arrives, the Bride of Christ will be taken out.
We’re a called-out people. Oh, hallelujah! We’re called out through His grace, through His greatness, through the might of His power. We are called. We’re called into the holiness of His Word, and into the purity of His Word. He has warned us in His word of all the works of Lucifer, the sins and the works of the flesh. It’s all there: what God will accept and what He won’t, what will tarnish the anointing of God and what will grieve the Holy Spirit. If you continue to grieve the Holy Spirit, that will be the end of His dealing with you.
In this final hour you cannot be careless; you are an end-time person. Will tonight be the last time you go to bed before Jesus comes? Will your next meal be the last one until the Rapture? When you are speaking to a soul, helping him come into the Kingdom, will you have another chance to lead him to Jesus? Every night and every day that you have left must be lived in the sacredness and holiness that Jesus lived in when He was here on planet Earth. Follow Him as your perfect example. The Holy Spirit has come to live and dwell in you so that you can be like Jesus. In the past, too many have wanted to pattern after someone else—actors, politicians—but the hour has come that the Bride’s one song will be: To be like Jesus. To be like Jesus is her desire, to walk like Him, to talk like Him, to be like Him.
One Lie Will Cost the Rapture
That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts; And be renewed in the spirit of your mind; And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness. Wherefore putting away lying, speak every man truth with his neighbor: for we are members one of another (Ephesians 4:22-25). It’s the truth that will set you free; one little lie is deceit. You told a white lie? Deceit is in you or it would not have come out in the form of a lie, no matter how small. Your words are a mirror to your heart. If you have a tendency to lie a tiny bit once-in-awhile, it means a seed of deceit is deeply embedded in you somewhere, although you may have covered it from others, convincing them you are saved, baptized in the Holy Spirit and ready to meet the Lord. That little lying spirit will cost you the Rapture and eventually your soul unless you root it out and seek the forgiveness of God. There will be no deceit taken in the Rapture and certainly none in Heaven. You cannot lie even a little and still get by. If ever there were a time to be careful with the truth, it’s now. Be tireless in ensuring there is no deceit in you, no trying to convince people of something false. You may not mean to lie, but in that close place where you’re trying so hard to make a person think something other than fact, the untruth slips out.
You must be very, very careful; the devil will trick you in every way he can. In this final hour, he has determined to rob all who are living holy before God. He sees you on your way with the anointing of God that will defeat him. It’s the same anointing that will one day cast him into the bottomless pit and then into the lake of fire—the true anointing of God. Through the righteousness and the holiness of the Lord, that anointing has come to His children who stand sinless before Him. Every day you must cleanse the mind with the Word of God. Just as you need to keep cleaning your house, you must daily clean your mind. Work on your mind by being careful of the thoughts you entertain, or the devil will lead you down his path before you realize it. He will drug your mind, blind you to his actions the way he started on the drug addicts, the alcoholics. The futility of their self-destruction is evident; yet there was a time they were innocent, a time they didn’t drink or use drugs. Then came that first reaching out for the wrong thing. Just as they took that innocent-looking something, you may be taking just a little of that which is wrong. A mere look at the forbidden killed Lot’s wife. Luke 17:32 reminds us to remember Lot’s wife. Why? A look will mean death to many people in this final hour. Be careful where you look and what you think and say.
Fill Your Mind from the Altar of God
Jesus came preaching an unusual message: adultery of the heart. If you look upon a woman with the intent of committing adultery, you have already committed adultery. The same rule holds true for other things that violate the teachings of God. Would you do them if you thought no one else would know? Then you have committed them in your heart, and it’s sin. If the thought just came to you, however, and under no circumstances would you act that thought out, it is not sin but temptation. When Christ was tempted in the wilderness, remember, He did not act on that temptation. He did not sin; the temptation is not sin, but the acting out or the intent of acting out the temptation is sin.
Be careful to have your mind filled from the altar of God. Watch what you think. That one-track mind will have to change if the track has been running the wrong way. You can control your mind through the power of the Holy Ghost. If you think about sports, about food, about sex when you want, you can also think about God when you want. The power of the right kind of thinking will destroy the thoughts the devil plants. The mind is limited. It can contain only so much at one time. You do have a choice what to fill the mind with, just as you have a choice what record or cassette tape to play. Through the power of the Holy Ghost you can plug in or unplug that which you want your mind to dwell on. Study the Scripture and find that you really do have that kind of power, power over the enemy. Be diligent and consistent in putting that power into action. As long as you let the devil deceive you into thinking your mind must go where he wants it, you are in deep trouble; he can destroy you. Multitudes have much of their happiness just annihilated by the wrong kind of thinking; because the wrong kind of thinking brings about the wrong kind of believing, a distorted perspective. A thought can take you right out of the presence of God, but right thinking brings you into His presence.
Nothing unholy can enter Heaven. Holiness is the state of the hidden man of the heart that the Bible talks about in I Peter 3:4. What adorns the heart? That which is not corruptible…a meek and quiet spirit. Holiness is what counts.
No matter how attractive things look on the outside, if you are rotten on the inside, you are rotten to God. He sees straight through all the masks you wear to keep out the rest of the world. He knows you in the dark as well as in the light. Why not relinquish all of self and step into the limelight of God’s holiness? It’s your hour on stage, Child of God. This isn’t backstage powder-puffing time; it’s on to center stage to play your part for God with all your heart and soul. Go all the way for Him; pull all stops. Nothing matters but pouring out your life for God. You’re on stage for Him to live pure, clean, to influence for Him every life you touch. If you fail, some of your loved ones will be screaming in hell as the endless ages roll.
God-Walk or Self-Walk?
No matter what you have to go through, please God. When you come to the end of the day is God pleased with you? Each morning it’s, “I have come to do thy will, oh God, this day—whatever that will is.”
Some of you, however, are not really searching for the will of God. You decide what you want without taking God into consideration, and claim it’s God’s will. If something goes against your wants, you’re sure it isn’t the will of God. The enemy has fooled, deceived you. Your so-called walking in God’s will is not a God-walk at all; it’s a self-walk. What does not strike your fancy, you turn your back on. You support your minister until he preaches something that goes against your will—not against the Bible, but against your will—and then you’re offended. The wall goes up between you and the preacher…and between you and God. Are you one who wants the Bible preached cover to cover, who yearns for the godly correction found in the Word? Do you want the Word of God just the way the Lord spoke it?
What is the will of God? First of all, the will of God is for you to be cleansed of all your sins; God cannot look upon sin. God loved Adam and Eve; but because of one sin, He cast them out of Paradise. One day God came down to find that Adam and Eve were not at their holy waiting-post; they had reached out for the forbidden. How many times has God come down to fellowship with you, but you weren’t at your holy waiting-post? You were down a little by-path. Perhaps you had not committed sin, but you were looking, drawn by your lust; you were playing around, winking at the forbidden. You didn’t mean to be caught at anything; you just wanted some innocent play, a diversion. There is nothing innocent about forbidden fruit, about the works of the devil. No matter how beautiful the devil makes his paths look, they all lead to destruction. His fruit turns rotten in the mouth, the flowers into ragweed, the roses into pure thorn. No low stakes will you find when you sit at the devil’s gambling table. If he can get you to play just a little bit, just flirt with your eyes…he feels sure he can encourage you to go from the eyes to the hands, to put those thoughts into action. The eyes operate the hands. What the eyes see, the hands reach for.
The mind feeds the soul. After a thought is in your mind too long, it drops into your soul. You had better not entertain those unwholesome thoughts unless you intend to swallow them. You do not hold something in your mouth very long before you swallow, and it is much the same with your mind. That which is chewed around in your mind over a long period of time is likely to drop into your soul where it explodes like a bomb, leaving ruin and destruction. The Holy Spirit is so grieved!
The Spirit is moving upon me to give this message. When you neglect your prayer life and the Word of God, when you pass up pure conversation in favor of the language of the world, when you think or talk dirty, you grieve the Holy Spirit. Examine all your conversation; examine all words that you use. Are they clean, pure words you could speak in front of Jesus without embarrassment as you look into His eyes?
Neither give place to the devil (Ephesians 4:27). When you endorse, when you touch any of the works of the flesh, you are giving place to the devil, not God. Holiness, righteousness, clean living give place to God. Unholy living, unrighteousness, ungodliness give place to the devil. How much place does the devil have in your life? Let’s say your mind could be divided into five rooms; how many rooms would the devil have? Would he have the kitchen, the dining room, the bedroom? What does he have in your mind, in your heart, in your life? How much does God have in that house of yours? How often do you think upon God, upon the Rapture? Is your vision spiritually clear? Are cataracts creeping in? Do you see beyond tomorrow?
Walking the Disappointing Road
Do you realize that the hour is late, that the sun is sinking fast on the Day of the Gentiles? Sunset for the Gentiles, however, means sunrise on a new day for the Jewish people. The prophets of old foretold it: Ezekiel, Jeremiah, Isaiah and others. The Lord is turning to the Jewish people, gathering them back from among all nations just as He said. Like a mighty magnet He is drawing them to that land, and at the same time He is drawing the Gentile Bride to Him. Many have not responded to His drawing. Multitudes of Jews in America reject the Spirit drawing them to the Holy Land; they “have it too good.” Multitudes of Christians also “have it too good” to be drawn to Jesus and allow the Holy Spirit to prepare them to go with the Lord. Not wanting to leave planet Earth, they are unconcerned about the Rapture they are about to miss. In the horror of the Tribulation Period, those once-too-comfortable Christians will be jolted into a seven year nightmare—providing they live that long! Not until the appearance of the Antichrist will the rest of the Jews be drawn back to the Holy Land; but how horrible it will be when the false Messiah comes to power, deceiving the Jews into claiming him as their real Savior. They will travel a tragically disappointing road.
Are you walking a disappointing road? Will you be disappointed at the Rapture? Will you be one of those who searches in vain for missing loved ones who were taken in the Rapture? Will you be one who says: I knew it, but I didn’t believe it. I was taught the right way, but I didn’t live right. How could it happen? It seemed so unreal! The open graves will remind you, the great chaos throughout the world, all the babies missing along with the many true children of God. The Lord tells us that we must be without spot or wrinkle, holy and without blemish. Carry this picture of the Bride with you, found in Ephesians 5:27: That he might present it [me] to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it [myself] should be holy and without blemish.
It’s time to wake up if you’re ever going to wake up. God gave me this for you: don’t tarnish the anointing. Treasure the anointing that He has given you. It’s priceless. If you lose what God has given you now, you probably can never reclaim it. Look back and turn into a pillar of salt. Look back and be lifeless, dead and lose all. Surely you don’t want to gamble with the precious anointing of God that He has given to you! Surely you won’t risk it! Why would you reach out and keep looking just to tantalize yourself?
Eve daily tantalized herself with the forbidden fruit; no doubt she had beaten a path to that tree. Why didn’t God stop her? For the same reason He doesn’t stop you and others like you. He has made you a person of free choice. You’re a free moral agent. Choose you this day whom you will serve; do what you want with the anointing. I’m not going to tarnish mine, but treasure it. Treasure your end-time anointing; it will help send the Gospel to all the inhabitants of the earth, to those lost souls beyond this land.
Jesus is our Ark of refuge and safety, our Ark of love in time of storm. The storm is now raging; the storms of tribulation are affecting this world already, and we don’t have long to win the lost. Rise up; don’t grumble or complain; just be grateful and take pride in what God is doing with you and through you.
Strongest Power on Earth?…The Anointing!
Don’t damage any of the anointing. You don’t have to be so very careful with the anointing because it’s fragile but because it’s so very holy. The anointing of God is not fragile; it’s the strongest power on Earth today. The devil cannot destroy God’s power, but he can destroy your yielding to it if you allow it. Only if he can contaminate you can the power of God be pushed out of your life so the Holy Spirit will take His flight. The devil does not want the Holy Spirit to operate you, and He will not unless you are yielded to Him 100 percent.
Jesus said if you asked, He would give water so that you would never thirst again, that the Holy Ghost would be like rivers of living water gushing forth from the inside of you. He takes over and lives—the Third Person in the Trinity of the Godhead lives on the inside of us—and produces and gushes forth with the greatness of God, with the fragrance of Him. Rather than expecting the anointing of God to come down like a cloud, look for production on the inside of you. He can use you as you yield to Him.
Your failure to yield to God will cause loved ones to suffer. The catch is that when you are taken over by seducing devils, you won’t even care. It doesn’t matter who you hurt, the destruction won’t move you because the devils are doing the thinking, the feeling and the pathfinding for you. Demons are planning your life, directing you, giving you that old devilish spirit of indifference. You don’t care. You won’t care until one day you wake up to the darkest night you have ever seen. You knock at your door, but no one is home. You look around for someone to love you, and no one is there. The bitter cold of life penetrates every fiber; the storm of life rages, and you have no shelter. You came home, but you came home too late. It isn’t enough just to say: What a fool I’ve been! or I wish I hadn’t done it! I wish I had kept holy, pure and clean. I wish I had gone on to do the whole will of God. It will be too late.
How much have you robbed God in the past by your disobedience; how much have you allowed the anointing, the strongest power on Earth, to be soiled just a little by a small disobedience, by a trifle playing around? How much have you tarnished the anointing of God?
Every time you tarnish the anointing of God, it adds weakness; and you cannot break all the powers of Lucifer that could have been broken had you stayed clean. How many times did you fail to break the powers of Lucifer? Like Samson, you lie a bound and helpless victim of the powers of the enemy. When Samson lost the anointing of God, God also lost. God is depending upon you. The church cannot afford another Samson. The Bride of Christ is rising up now; she must give everything; she must please God.
In the Song of Solomon the Bride is crying, Draw me, we will run after thee (Song of Solomon 1:4). Draw and we will run. The Lord is drawing you. He is drawing you with His love, with His greatness, with His faith and power. Are you going to respond? What will you do with the anointing of God? You can have it. All you need to do is give it to the world. Jesus said, I pray not for the world, but for them which thou hast given me; for they are thine…I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil. They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world (John 17:9,15,16). The final verdict on the true disciples of Jesus?—they are not of the world—in the world, yes, but preserved from the world. Jesus preserved His disciples by sealing them with the seal of redemption. After He ascended back to the Father, the disciples went on to the Upper Room and were filled with the Holy Spirit, the power of the Holy Ghost. By His Spirit these things were done. The Early Church, through the power of the Holy Ghost, were overcomers who went forth to defeat the powers of the enemy.
Protect the Anointing
Guard your anointing. Israel didn’t guard her anointing; no. God had given her everything, but the sweetest thing was the anointing. Stand still, Children of Israel, while I anoint you; don’t run away. Pharaoh’s army is coming. Stand still. Finally they quieted down so that God was able to have enough of their minds to anoint them. Can God anoint you? Have you stayed in His presence long enough? Have you recognized, beheld and honored His glory so that you can be anointed? Do you protect that which He has given you?
It’s time to clothe yourselves in the whole armor of God if you’re ever going to do it. When you have done all to put on the whole armor of God, then stand. You need all the armor to protect your anointing. Live in the book of Ephesians; it tells you the things that God is against, the things God says you cannot do, the kind of person you must be. Encourage yourself in the Lord; tell yourself that none of the works of the flesh named in the fifth chapter of Galatians can be allowed to enter your life. Your life must bear the fruits of the Spirit named in that same chapter as you come into unity with the faith of God.
I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me (Philippians 4:13). You can do it all; you can do everything He has told you to do. You can walk every path He has told you to walk. It won’t be easy, but Jesus said He would walk the path with you. It’s necessary for Him to come down to walk it with you because you cannot make it on your own. It matters not about anyone else; they may fail—turn away. They may hate you, but with Jesus you will make it. You can do all things through Christ. You’re a called-out person. You’ve been called from the world, from sin, called into the glory and the power of Jesus. You’ve been called to protect His anointing daily. You’ve been called into His Crucifixion, to His Resurrection. There you died to the world, and there you were made to live through the Resurrection. You are alive! Nothing will stop you now. You’re called out, on your way, called out from everything that’s unclean; and you’ll never go back because you’re serving the Most High God. There is nothing behind, everything ahead: the harvest, the Rapture, the Bride. Wading out into the harvest fields to bring in souls, you’re called out, called out from weakness into strength, from deceit into knowledge and truth. You’re called out from the false and counterfeit into living reality. You’re called out. God didn’t call you to that which was unclean but to holiness; it’s the only thing God has to call you to: something pure, upright.
Protect it. Die for it if need be, but don’t ever let it go. Caress it to your heart. You have nothing to fear, nothing to worry about, for you have everything when you have His anointing. Treasure it more than life. Walk in the steps of your Lord.
Oh, Child of God, oh, end-time People: Don’t fail. Don’t gamble even a tiny bit. If you are doing anything that has a shadow in it, even a shadow, stop it. It’s a blemish. Jesus is coming after those without blemish. Don’t let the enemy deceive you, making you think you can’t be pure. The Holy Spirit with the blood and the know-how, with the truth will make you His holy vessel. Mold and make me after thy will, oh God. Have thine own way, Lord, have thine own way.
Yield completely to Him, and for all eternity you will know the value of His treasured anointing. Treasure the anointing of God; guard it. Wherever it is found in the Holy Scripture, victory belonged to the people of God. Keep it; hug it to your bosom night and day. It’s your victory. You’re a winner only with God’s treasured anointing.
Thus Saith the Lord:
Yea, saith the Lord: I am in the midst of this people with my love in perfection. I am here to do you good. I am here to caress you with the love of my greatness. I am here to give you hope like you have never had hope before. I am here to give you strength for your final journey. I am here to go with you to all the world and preach my Gospel. I am here to give you knowledge and vision of this hour. I am here to warn you. I am here to tell you. I am here to let you know of that which is just ahead.
Open your eyes and never close them to my will again. Open your eyes and behold my will for you, and never lose it. Open your eyes and know and see my plan for your life, and never lose it. Treasure my plan for you. Never let the devil rob you of any part of my plan for your life.
You will have to go through many valleys. You will have to climb mountains, but I will give the power. I will give you the strength. I will not leave you in ignorance. I will be your wisdom and your knowledge. I will serve you well, and my Spirit will help you serve me well.
Yield to my love, and it will be given without measure. Yield to my faith, and it will be given without measure. Yield to my deliverance, and it will be given without measure.
And I will be with you, and no power will be able to destroy you; and I will go all the way with you. And you will be victorious, and you will be glorious in my sight. And you will be perfect in my love as you go forth in my divine will. You will be without spot or wrinkle, and you will have no blemishes, saith the Lord. I will bring you into the perfection of my greatness.
