Transformed by the Power of the Holy Ghost in Kigali, Rwanda
by Debbie DeRonde
December 2015
As we arrived at the airport for our next missionary journey, this Jesus world outreach ministry’s airplane, Star Triple Seven, appeared to be surrounded with God’s glory as she sat on the runway gleaming in the August sunlight. Once we were onboard, the Lord Himself spoke to us through Rev. Angley saying, “I called, and you answered. I will be with you all the way, but you have to be with me. Don’t look at yourself; look at the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost. I am your strength; I am your great help; I am your all in all.
“We are on a divine mission for the Lord,” Rev. Angley boldly declared, “and the people are ready for us. We must be full of God and let Him pour His anointing into us so we can take it to the whole world in this final hour.” He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water (John 7:38).
Our Work Began
We arrived on Monday to an extremely busy day of preparation; but when Tuesday morning arrived, we were ready and anxious to begin the Lord’s work. Kigali is a large city of just over 1 million people, so we had much to do; but God led us every step of the way…and He had prepared the people of Kigali more than we had ever imagined.
The people in Rwanda speak very little English, so we had learned many phrases, scriptures and prayers that we would need; and God miraculously helped us overcome the communication barrier. Our missionaries never went out without anointed blest cloths that they used to pray for people. It is a Biblical method mentioned in Acts 19:11,12 that the Lord has directed Rev. Angley to use to help people release their faith; and on our first day in the city, a 10-year-old boy received hearing in his right ear, a blind woman could see, and a totally deaf man could hear.
Salvation is the greatest miracle of all; and on that first day, 21 of our people prayed the sinners’ prayer with one or more people…but that was just a small taste of what was to come.
Wednesday morning, a busload of our missionaries visited a home for those who had lost their spouses during the 1994 genocide; and only God can heal the deep-seated wounds caused by such an atrocity. The service began with about 30 people, but God’s love continued to draw more until there were over 100; and the majority of them stayed to receive special prayer. The director was so moved by what he had witnessed that he declared our people were angels sent from God.
Wednesday afternoon, a group of our missionaries held an assembly for over 180 fifth and sixth grade students while the others were out in the city witnessing miracles take place. After prayer, a woman received her hearing; and a man who had been severely crippled was dancing with his cane in the air.
A Holy Ghost Ministers’ Meeting
Thursday morning was the first ministers’ meeting, and a very respectful crowd gathered to hear the Word of God. Rev. Angley had already laid the Gospel foundation during his two previous Rwanda crusades, so God knew the ministers were ready for an in-depth teaching about the Holy Ghost.
Rev. Angley entered the hall proclaiming, “It’s Holy Ghost time! The Lord has told me three different times that people must have the Holy Ghost to make the Rapture because it will take more to go by air than by the way of the grave. Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us (Ephesians 3:20).”
Rev. Angley began his message by explaining that the Holy Ghost is a person, and he said that the Bible proves He is when it refers to the Spirit 16 times in John 14, 15 and 16 with the personal pronouns ‘he,’ ‘him’ or ‘himself’. “Jesus was the Son of God; yet as a man, He received the Holy Ghost before He began His Earth ministry. When John baptized Jesus in water, he said, I saw the Spirit descending from heaven like a dove, and it abode upon him (John 1:32). If the Son of God felt the need of the Holy Ghost living inside of Him, how much more so should we?
“The Holy Ghost is so necessary,” Rev. Angley emphasized, “that Jesus told the disciples before He ascended back to Heaven, It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you (John 16:7). Then Jesus commanded them to receive the Spirit. And [Jesus], being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, saith he, ye have heard of me (Acts 1:4).
“When people receive the real Holy Ghost,” Rev. Angley declared, “He speaks through them in another tongue just like He did through the Early Church disciples on the Day of Pentecost. And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance (Acts 2:4). But those who speak in tongues and prophesy at will are not of God.
“The secret to this Jesus ministry is in knowing how the Holy Ghost works and how to work with Him. Then you must let Him have His way day and night. He is our Comforter, our Guide, our Intercessor and the Spirit of Truth. Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth (John 16:13). And He will always be with you. And I [Jesus] will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you forever (John 14:16).”
Rev. Angley pointed out, “The Holy Ghost is power for service, and it took that power to make the disciples true Jesus witnesses. But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth (Acts 1:8).”
In closing, Rev. Angley declared, “When you have real, Bible salvation, you will go on to get the Holy Ghost.” Then the service ended with a mighty outpouring of the Holy Ghost, and our workers moved throughout the audience helping the many pastors and laymen glorify God and seek the Spirit. That meeting set the stage for the entire crusade because we were soon to discover that every moment of every day would be all about the Holy Ghost.
Miracles Drew People
The Spirit’s power continued moving that afternoon as our missionaries ministered to the people in the city. After prayer, a young boy’s watering eye immediately dried up; and a crippled, elderly man was joyfully high-stepping it down the road without his cane. Another man’s eye was almost swollen shut, but the swelling immediately began to go down. A lady could hardly walk due to severe arthritis in her knees and feet; but all of her pain left, and she walked away just fine.
One of our young men prayed with an older man who could not walk or even stand. After helping the man up, the two of them walked and then ran through a cheering crowd of amazed people who had gathered to watch.
Friday morning, our missionaries visited a hospital where they were able to pray with the patients in the internal medicine, pediatric and emergency wards. Rev. Millar and his group were also permitted to enter the critical care unit and pray for those suffering with AIDS. That hospital was within walking distance of the crusade grounds, so it was an added bonus that the staff and the patients’ family members could easily attend the weekend services.
On the streets of the city, our workers witnessed miracles for a lady with a severe back problem and for a woman with chronic leg pain. A mechanic had severely injured his finger; but after prayer, he could easily open and close his hand for the first time since the accident.
Through the anointing of God, much of our street work in Kigali turned into mini-revival services. God would draw small crowds of people with the performances of the ministry’s singers and/or musicians or simply through the divine anointing on the literature and in our people’s smiles and voices. After our people shared the Gospel, one person would give their heart to the Lord or receive a miracle; and then there would be another and another. Some of these ministering sessions would go on for up to two hours; and hundreds at a time would be saved, healed and delivered.
First Friday Service
Friday evening was our first service; and Rev. Angley greeted the cheering people by marching across the stage in his signature manner crying, “J-e-e-e-e-e-e-sus!” Then the Lord took him over and said, “Thus saith the Lord, there will be miracles and healings as we use His name.” Immediately, the Lord revealed that two cancer victims were healed. Then Rev. Angley said to a 37-year-old backslider with AIDS, “You have only six months to live. You gave AIDS to another member of your family, and God is frowning on you; so you had better surrender to the Lord tonight because this is your last chance.” The entire congregation prayed the sinners’ prayer with the man; and then Rev. Angley victoriously declared, “You are healed if you keep your salvation.”
A godly man had been pulling on the Lord for his grandson who had AIDS; and Rev. Angley announced, “Your grandson is now healed, but tell him that he must give his heart to the Lord.” Following the loss of a loved one, a person in the audience had suffered a nervous breakdown and spent time in a mental institution; but with divine love, Rev. Angley said, “God is with you, and things will work out all right.”
Jim and Trish Ray sang a beautiful song about surrendering all to the Lord, and it brought in such a spirit of humility that people were on their knees with their faces to the ground. When the song ended, Rev. Angley led the people in a prayer of dedication and surrender: “Dear Jesus, I give myself completely to you tonight, and I want to please you in everything. I never want my way again unless it is your divine will.”
After the prayer, Rev. Angley cried, “Jesus is here!” Then he transitioned into his short message entitled, Jesus Christ. “Jesus came to make us sons and daughters of God just like Him,” Rev. Angley began. But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons [and daughters] of God, even to them that believe on his name (John 1:12).
“Study Christ’s life on Earth because we are to talk and act like Him; and we are to do His works. All of you can be just like Jesus through prayer, fasting and living in the Word. He is ready to move for you day and night, but you have to let Him move.”
The end-time signs tell us that the Rapture will soon take place, so receiving the Holy Ghost is now a focal point in nearly every one of Rev. Angley’s crusade services; and that first service ended with a powerful Holy Ghost rally.
While the people were glorifying the Lord, miracles were taking place in the invalid section. A man’s deaf ear opened, and another very frail man began receiving strength in his arms and legs. Life began to flow into a young man’s lame legs, and he returned the next night to show us that he was even better.
A Victorious Saturday
Saturday morning, Rev. Millar and a group of our people took God’s love to an orphanage housing nearly 70 kids aged 2 to 18. It had originally been established by a single family as a safe haven during the 1994 genocide, and it has provided a home for orphans ever since. While there, one of our people prayed for a teenager who had been deaf since he was two; but that day, he not only received his hearing and speech but also his sense of smell.
The majority of our missionaries were spread throughout busy market areas; and through God’s miracle power, a blind man received his sight. A man with a paralyzed leg walked with ease across the parking lot, and an older man who walked bent over with a cane went on his way without it. An elderly woman was hard of hearing, partially blind and could hardly walk; but God gave her instant miracles for everything, and she threw down her crutches and walked away praising the Lord.
Satan did not like what God was doing in Kigali, so he tried to stop our Saturday night service; but there is no defeat in Jesus Christ. The electric generator at the crusade grounds died just before the service began, and everything went dark; but Rev. Angley declared that the service would go on. While our crew scrambled to set up a few battery-operated lights and a portable speaker, the spiritually hungry people not only stayed but sat quietly either praying or reading their Bibles.
When Rev. Angley finally stepped on the stage, the people were ready for him; and divine miracles began taking place right away. A person was healed of a spine injury they had suffered with for six years; a 19-year-old was healed of cancer, and a 76-year-old received a heart miracle.
A woman had already lost one grandchild to AIDS and had two others who also were afflicted with it, but God healed them. Then the Lord gave an instant miracle to a person who had a dangerous, fast-growing growth.
A Night of the Anointing
Rev. Angley preached about the anointing of God; and his opening scripture was, And it shall come to pass in that day, that his burden shall be taken away from off thy shoulder, and his yoke [a heavy load] from off thy neck, and the yoke shall be destroyed because of the anointing (Isaiah 10:27). “Satan seeks to put all kinds of yokes on anyone he can,” Rev. Angley warned the people; “but the anointing, which is the power and the presence of God, can break all of them tonight.
“The Bible tells us that Jesus was anointed when He received the Holy Ghost. The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, To preach the acceptable year of the Lord (Luke 4:18,19).
“Jesus told His disciples that they were not to start the church until they had received power from On High, which is the anointing. And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high (Luke 24:49).
“No minister should ever preach without God’s holy anointing,” Rev. Angley plainly stated, “but you have to want it and move toward God to be able to receive it.” Then the Lord spoke through Rev. Angley saying, “Thus saith the Lord, the anointing is here.” And as God poured it out to the people, all they had to do was open their hearts and receive it.
The service closed with another mighty Holy Ghost rally during which two people in the invalid section were delivered of severe stomach pain, and a paralyzed man was made whole. Backstage, the Lord delivered a man from a big devil that was always giving him the sensation of falling. Then Rev. Angley prayed for a 12-year-old girl who had a disease that was destroying the flesh, cartilage and bone around her hip; and it had caused one of her legs to be several inches shorter than the other. However the next day, she said that her pain was subsiding; and she reported at each service that she was getting better and better.
A Sunday of Service to the Lord
On Sunday morning, 25 of our missionary teams visited local churches. Two of our people attended a small, rural church that had only three adults and nine children in the congregation when they arrived. Our people told them to go and invite their friends and family; and in less than 30 minutes, the little church was filled with 30 adults and nearly 100 children. God’s anointing draws people.
Our missionaries always offer prayer with a blest cloth to those in the churches, and the people overwhelmingly respond. Just some of the miracles God poured out that morning included a lady receiving perfect hearing in both of her ears. Another lady received an amazing miracle for her legs and walked across the church; a woman received her sight; a lady’s back pain disappeared; and a woman with intense pain in her head and shoulder received instant relief.
Sunday evening, an excited woman arrived at the crusade grounds to testify to one of our couples who had prayed for her during the week. She had been in witchcraft and had suffered with severe pain in her throat; but that evening, she was completely free, and her eyes were shining as she gave God the glory for her deliverance.
Rev. Angley turned a very young 94 that Sunday, and the local people showed him great love as they showered him with beautiful flowers and gifts. He is an amazing testimony to God’s love and rejuvenating power, and the whole congregation sang Happy Birthday to him when he stepped on the stage that evening.
Then it was back to God’s business, and healings began taking place. The Lord revealed that a person with a bad stomach could eat anything they wanted to. Another person was healed of arthritis and rheumatism, and a man’s heart was re-created. The Lord gave peace to a person being tormented by the devil in their sleep, and He gave life to an AIDS victim who had only three months to live. One person had suffered for years with injuries from a fall, but God instantly re-created all that had been damaged.
“When I use the name of Jesus and the blood,” Rev. Angley explained, “people are healed of all kinds of sicknesses, diseases and deformities; so hold onto that name, and there will be more miracles tonight.”
Rev. Angley’s message was Yoked Together with Christ; and he began by explaining that a yoke is a bar or a frame that binds work animals together so they can share the load to complete a task. Although the stronger animal carries most of the burden, the two still need to work together to get the job done.
Then Rev. Angley declared, “That is the relationship we are to have with Jesus; and He taught people that when He was here saying, Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light (Matthew 11:28-30). Don’t wear yourself out trying to do things yourself; just turn anything you cannot handle over to the Lord knowing that He will take your burden and give you a song of love and grace as long as you yield to Him.
“Now, if you are stubborn and think you know how things should be done,” Rev. Angley continued, “your load will get heavier and more frustrating; and you will do one of three things: yield to the Lord, kick against the pricks as Paul did before he was saved or give up altogether.”
Rev. Angley closed the message by having the people repeat a beautiful prayer of humility: “Oh, God, if I am not yoked to you and bowing to you in everything, I beg for your forgiveness; and I will serve you in holiness and do anything you want me to.”
After Rev. Angley prayed for those in the healing line, the first weekend of services ended with yet another mighty Holy Ghost rally; and backstage, a severely tormented young man was miraculously delivered from 70 witchcraft devils.
An outstanding student from Ernest Angley’s Online Bible College traveled from Kenya to join us during the first week of the crusade. Although he was already a pastor, he considered it yet another step in his learning process as he studied how the Lord uses Rev. Angley and helped our people spread the Gospel throughout the city. Rev. Angley met with him after the first Sunday night service, and the young man humbly bowed on his knees as Rev. Angley prayed for God to anoint him for his ministry.
Ready for Week Two
There were many souls to win and no time to waste, so we were again on duty for the Lord early Monday morning. The day began with a visit to a newer hospital located outside the city, and our people held prayer services throughout the facility. Just some of the miracles the patients received included three for hearing, two for back problems and two for bad eyes. A gentleman who was unable to speak could instantly talk; a paralyzed man began to move with ease, and another man’s chronic leg and knee pain suddenly disappeared.
One of our men walked into a room full of babies where one of the little boys was crying hysterically. Our worker was filled with compassion as he started to pray and rub the blest cloth over the baby’s heavily bandaged leg, and his crying soon subsided. Suddenly, all the mothers in the room wanted prayer for their babies; but it also opened their hearts to the Gospel message, and many of them were saved.
On the streets of the city, a young girl received an amazing miracle for a lazy eye and a drooping lid. Two people received their sense of smell; a man struggling for air could instantly breathe much better, and two people received hearing in a deaf ear. Others were delivered from cigarettes, alcohol and drugs; and many more received salvation.
In a village that afternoon, a teenage girl with very cloudy eyes and deformed pupils insisted that one of our workers pray for her. Afterward, she followed them for about 30 minutes down a large hill; and when they reached the bottom, her eyes were completely clear and her sight was normal.
Some of our people passed a local bar, and a drunken man followed them. Soon, he was on his knees in the dirt asking to be saved; and shortly after, another alcoholic also gave his heart to the Lord.
The management of our hotel allowed a few of our workers to hold special services for the kitchen and serving staff. They spoke to and prayed for nearly 60 workers in groups of 10 to 20 at a time; and the people gave God so much freedom to move for them that the meeting ended with a small Holy Ghost rally.
A Very Busy Tuesday
Tuesday morning began with a visit to a primary school of nearly 400 students where the reception was overwhelming, and many young souls were saved. In a nearby village, four people received their sense of smell; and two ladies received their hearing.
A group of our missionaries were a little overwhelmed when they arrived at a very busy outpatient clinic to find over 160 people in the huge waiting room. However, God was in control, and praise reports from that clinic included a man receiving good vision in his weak eyes and a lady receiving ease from her constant back pain. Another man could not smell or breathe out of his nose because his skin was growing over one of his nostrils, but he shed tears of joy when he received both of his miracles; and he left the clinic without even seeing a doctor.
Seven of our missionaries were greatly blessed to spend the majority of the day ministering to the patients at a mental hospital. Although one of the directors and some of the staff members were not very cooperative, the Lord sent a woman who appeared to be a nun to direct them. God’s anointing brought the mental spirits under control, and such beautiful, divine peace took over in each service our people conducted that the patients wanted to linger in the presence of the Lord rather than leave.
That afternoon, God’s anointing of love immediately subdued the restless spirits of about 200 teenagers at an orphanage; and after the service, nearly all of them stepped forward for special prayer. The director of the orphanage had recently undergone foot surgery and had to use crutches; but after prayer, he walked carrying his crutches. Our people had not planned to leave each teen a blest cloth; but after that great miracle, they emptied their backpacks and even gave up personal blest cloths they had pinned to themselves to make sure no one went without.
As the rest of our missionaries ministered in several villages, a 12-year-old girl received her sense of smell; two people could hear out of their deaf ears; two people received fantastic eye miracles; and one person found immediate relief from a bad back.
A Meeting of Dedication
The pastors were ready and waiting to be served more of God when the second ministers’ meeting arrived Wednesday morning. They were hungry for the truth, and God poured it out as Rev. Angley presented them a beautiful message of love and devotion entitled, Lord, I Owe You Everything. “When you owe someone,” Rev. Angley began, “you have an obligation to pay that person for something you have received or a moral responsibility to give that person respect or gratitude. You do not regret repaying someone who has done something special for you because you want to show them your appreciation.
“We owe God everything for all the miraculous things He has done for us because we are totally undeserving of His mercy and grace. But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus (Ephesians 2:4,7).
“Our debt to God,” Rev. Angley continued, “is not just paying Him back to make things even because we could never do enough to repay God for all He has done for us. Our debt to Him must be a love debt of sacrifice. I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service (Romans 12:1).
“Never begrudge anything you do for the Lord,” Rev. Angley pointed out. “You must always be happy to say, ‘Lord, I owe you everything,’ because He is our everything!”
When Rev. Angley gave the pastors an invitation to receive the Holy Ghost that morning, those who were hungry immediately popped out of their seats; and many received a beautiful baptism experience.
Miracles in Abundance
The news of the miracles had spread throughout the Kigali medical community; so filled with a fresh anointing from the ministers’ meeting, our missionaries had yet another opportunity to visit a hospital. The director was very excited to escort some of them around saying that she had always wanted to be a missionary, and she felt that was her opportunity. Then she was amazed to watch God’s miracle and saving power at work.
A smaller group addressed staff members at a local university, and the remainder of our people were having a miracle afternoon in the city. Two women received instant stomach miracles; a homeless woman received her sight, and a 17-year-old boy received his sense of smell and hearing in his deaf ear. A young girl’s severely diseased eyes instantly cleared up after prayer.
Thursday began with a visit to 170 primary school students while the rest of our missionaries were again witnessing in the heart of the city. One of our workers met an older man struggling down the street with a cane; but after prayer, the man walked up the street as if nothing had been wrong. That astounding miracle drew a crowd; and other miracles that followed included two for bad eyes, four for knee injuries, one for migraines, one for stomach trouble and one for back trouble. People continued to gather for nearly two hours; and when it was time for our workers to leave, they could hardly hold back the tears as crowds of people thronged the bus with their hands still reaching out for prayer.
A Service of Divine Promises
Rev. Angley stepped onto the platform Thursday evening declaring, “I believe in miracles because I believe in God. When Jesus was here, He healed people of not just one thing but everything; so keep looking to God, and thus saith the Lord, people will be made whole.”
The Singing Rays sang a song about God’s marvelous grace, and then the Lord began revealing miracles in the audience. The first one was for a lady with cancer; and Rev. Angley told her, “Your left eye is also weak; but it is coming to normal, and that is your sign that you are healed of cancer.” He said to a young mother with cancer, “You have one child who would have been left without you if you had not come to this service tonight, but you are healed. Raise your child in the knowledge of God.”
A woman thought she was having heart trouble, but the Lord revealed it was arthritis of the chest and healed her. Other revelations included three for AIDS, one for a lady with severe intestinal trouble, two for ulcers, seven for people who needed re-created vertebras and disks in their backs and many others for leg conditions of all kinds. “God is s-o-o-o-o good!” Rev. Angley declared.
God promised miracles and healings to all who would believe, so He directed Rev. Angley to preach Embrace the Promises; and he began by explaining, “A promise is a declaration that someone will or will not do something. To embrace God’s promises, you must hug them to your heart. Sometimes there is a period of waiting and proving between a promise and the fulfillment of that promise, but you must know it will be fulfilled. For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise (Hebrews 10:36). A promise from God is the greatest insurance ever!” Rev. Angley declared.
“The Lord promised Abraham a son,” he continued, “but he had to wait 25 years for that promise to be fulfilled. And so, after he [Abraham] had patiently endured, he obtained the promise (Hebrews 6:15). Abraham received the promise because he staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God (Romans 4:20).”
Rev. Angley told the people that just knowing about God’s promises is not enough. He said, “You must believe them, eagerly accept them and hold them close. They lay the foundation for what we can expect from God; but if you don’t accept them, you are on your own.” Then Rev. Angley left them with this scripture: Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised) (Hebrews 10:23).
After the message, a lady testified on stage of receiving a miracle for cancer during the 2010 Rwanda crusade; and that prepared the people to receive the miracles they needed. As Rev. Angley was ministering to a deaf boy on the platform, he suddenly turned to the audience and said through the Spirit of the Lord, “A woman is getting a healing for her great granddaughter who is almost deaf; but she has good hearing now, saith the Lord, because of your faith.”
Before the service closed, some remarkable miracles took place in the invalid section. A lady was paralyzed on her left side due to an accident and had a rod in her leg; but she left the service with no pain, no crutch and walking normally. A blind boy had come to the service with a severe migraine headache; but when his pain instantly left, it gave him faith for his eyes, and he began to see light, motion and even shapes. A man who had hurt his foot in an accident was able to walk just fine without his crutch, and a woman with a broken back could bend and move with no pain or trouble.
Throughout the service, a father had lovingly rocked his severely handicapped daughter whose limbs were drawn and stiff. But the father was full of faith; and as he rubbed the blest cloth he had been given over every inch of his daughter’s body, her arms, legs and torso began to relax and straighten out. Then with a little help, she could even stand and take some steps—a beautiful manifestation of God’s divine compassion and miracle power.
The Week Ended on a Heavenly Note
Friday morning, our people worked hard to touch as many souls as possible on the last day of the work week. One of our ladies handed some literature to a passing motorcycle taxi driver; and he soon returned because he was a backslider, and he wanted to give his heart back to the Lord.
Others were receiving physical miracles as a teen-aged boy’s cataracts instantly disappeared, and a man received instant relief from a toothache. A lady was healed of stomach pain, and a woman received a miracle for her back. A minister had to hobble around with a cane due to a car accident that had happened years ago; but after prayer, he ran up and down a steep hill without any trouble.
Rev. Angley began the Friday evening service proclaiming, “Praise God for the blood! It is our passport to Heaven, our salvation, our healing, our life and everything we need.”
After Jim and Trish Ray sang an anointed song that deeply touched the people’s hearts, Rev. Angley emphatically pointed out, “You must surrender your heart to Jesus because He only looks at your heart. For the LORD seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the LORD looketh on the heart (I Samuel 16:7). When your heart beats in rhythm with God’s heart, divine love will flow to you.”
Rev. Angley then continued his sermon from the previous night on embracing the promises of God; and he began by saying, “You must be determined to embrace God’s promises in every area of your life and know that they are all true. For all the promises of God in him are yea [affirmative], and in him Amen [so be it] (II Corinthians 1:20). God is faithful to fulfill every promise He has ever made. The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance (II Peter 3:9).”
Rev. Angley ended the message with this thought-provoking question: “How bright is your future? You should be able to say that it is as bright as the promises of God. That will encourage your heart, give you strength and help you in times of trouble and trial.”
Then the confirmation of God’s promises took place as each person in the healing line received a miracle. One woman had become bitter and turned away from God when her husband was sent to prison; but as she gave her heart back to the Lord, God lovingly said to her through Rev. Angley, “I am the Lord that loveth and careth for thee. I am the Lord that has watched over thee.”
At the end of the service, the Lord poured out His Spirit upon the people while miracles took place in the invalid section. A teenage girl started speaking for the first time, and a woman with back problems announced that she had no more pain. A severely crippled lady was able to walk, and the nonstop cough that had tormented her instantly stopped. A man who needed two new hips was soon marching up and down the rows, and he was so grateful and hungry for more of God that he immediately started seeking for the Holy Ghost baptism.
The miracles continued as an older gentleman received hearing in his left ear and sight in his left eye, and a woman with very little circulation below her elbows and knees felt the blood begin to flow as she started moving her arms and legs. The highlight of that night was the miracle for an accident victim who had been bedridden for 14 months and had struggled to the service on two crutches. As one of our ladies prayed and rubbed the blest cloth up and down the woman’s shins, the woman began praising the Lord; and the more she did, the more she was able to move. When her miracle was complete, she was glorifying God at the top of her lungs and walking with her crutches in the air.
A Special Saturday
Saturday morning, Rev. Millar, the Cathedral Trio and a small team of our workers held a very fruitful service at a combined men’s and women’s prison. Nearly 700 inmates packed themselves into the meeting room, and others peered through barred windows. They received the Gospel message with open arms, and many of the inmates gave their hearts to the Lord. Prisoners have plenty of time to read; so our people gave each one several tracts and small sermon booklets while also leaving Bibles, books and other teaching materials for their prison library.
The women inmates’ children remain with their mothers until they are three; so after the service, our people were able to give the mothers much-needed baby clothes, toys and blankets that had been lovingly donated by our ministry partners.
The rest of our missionaries were spreading the miracle Gospel in Kigali’s busy weekend shopping areas. God’s anointing can penetrate even the darkest souls, and two very devil-possessed alcoholics were set free. A woman received a marvelous miracle for headaches and for pain in her back; and she kept bending over and crying, “It’s gone!” Shortly after, two others were also healed of back trouble.
Before the Saturday night service began, Rev. Angley had a special ordination ceremony for the young man who was his interpreter and the organizer for the Kigali crusade. He is a very devoted servant of the Lord who has followed Rev. Angley’s ministry since 1994, diligently studying his books and traveling to several African countries to attend our ministry’s crusades and work with our people.
The Lord let Rev. Angley know that this godly young man had been divinely called into the ministry; and that Saturday evening, Rev. Angley officially ordained him as a minister of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. He is the first person Rev. Angley has ever ordained outside of the United States, and the young man was overcome with tears as he humbled himself before the Lord and before God’s prophet.
A Night of Miracle Faith
The people who attended the crusade services were sincere and expecting God to move; so after Rev. Angley briefly greeted them that night, God began performing His signs and wonders. He gave life to a cancer victim who had only two months to live; and another critically ill person was healed of cancer, high blood pressure and foot trouble.
Rev. Angley told a person with rheumatoid arthritis, “You would have been in a wheelchair in less than five months; but you are cured, saith the Lord.” Then he explained to a person with horrible nightmares, “The devil is tormenting you to rob you of your sleep. Cover your bed and your whole house with the blood before you go to sleep, and the Lord will give you victory.” Then there was a mass miracle for foot trouble as Rev. Angley had the people praise and thank God for the blood.
While the Singing Rays were performing that night, Kelly, one of the group members, fell on the slippery, rain-soaked stage; and she heard a crack. Her husband and her father-in-law helped her hobble over to Rev. Angley who immediately called up Heaven. Within just a few minutes, he declared, “She just received a miracle!” The people cheered; and the Rays went on performing as if nothing had ever happened. Later, the Lord revealed to Rev. Angley that Kelly had broken her hip; and when he told that to the people the next evening, they went wild with praises to God for such an amazing miracle.
That miracle manifestation definitely came about through faith; and it led right into Rev. Angley’s sermon, Two Sides to Faith. He began by explaining that there is conquering faith and enduring faith. Conquering faith is described in Hebrews 11:33-35: Who through faith subdued kingdoms, wrought righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions, Quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, out of weakness were made strong, waxed valiant in fight, turned to flight the armies of the aliens. Women received their dead raised to life again: and others were tortured, not accepting deliverance; that they might obtain a better resurrection.
Enduring faith is described in Hebrews 11:36-38: And others had trial of cruel mockings and scourgings, yea, moreover of bonds and imprisonment: They were stoned, they were sawn asunder, were tempted, were slain with the sword: they wandered about in sheepskins and goatskins; being destitute, afflicted, tormented; (Of whom the world was not worthy:) they wandered in deserts, and in mountains, and in dens and caves of the earth.
“‘To endure’ means to undergo hardship for a long time without giving in,” Rev. Angley explained, “and divine faith endures so that souls can be saved. Paul said, Therefore I endure all things for the elect’s sakes, that they may also obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory (II Timothy 2:10). Paul faced many persecutions; but he declared, Out of them all the Lord delivered me (II Timothy 3:11).
“Any child of God who seeks to win souls and tear down the kingdom of Satan,” Rev. Angley plainly stated, “will have to endure afflictions. Jesus said, But he that endureth to the end shall be saved (Matthew 10:22).”
The healing line followed the message; and when Rev. Angley had finished praying for the people, he turned to the audience and said, “God’s miracle star is moving over you right now. Believe with all of your heart and take what you need.” The people in the invalid section took those words to heart, and two young friends were completely amazed when one received his sense of smell and his buddy received his sense of taste. A young man had no more pain in the back of his ear, and a totally blind man was able to see light and count fingers. A severely tormented gentleman instantly received divine peace, and a disabled man could walk with ease.
A lady was so happy to receive miracles for a headache, neck pain and a problem with her throat that prevented her from swallowing. Another woman had come to the service with a broken leg, and she could not close some of the fingers on one of her hands; but that all changed after prayer, and she returned the next night rejoicing because she had been made whole.
A Glorious Last Day
Sunday morning, our missionary teams ministered in 23 churches; and God again poured out miracles in abundance through the blest cloth. In just one church alone, there were six miracles for stomach pain, one for dim eyes, five for bad backs, three for severe headaches, one for chest pain, one for a crippled leg and one for a painful shoulder.
At the same time, Rev. Millar and his team held a service for over 500 men at a large prison. The inmates soaked in every word of the Gospel message; and when Rev. Millar gave the invitation for prayer, he was surprised and a little overwhelmed to see everyone step forward. But he had divine compassion for those inmates; and he patiently prayed for each one, knowing it might be their only opportunity to receive a touch from God. Our people loaded down the inmates with literature; and each one also received their own personal blest cloth, a touchstone of faith that many of them will keep for years to come.
Sunday evening was the last chance for the people to receive all they needed from God; and shortly after Rev. Angley stepped on the platform, the Lord spoke saying, “Yea, saith the Lord, I am here. I am with you, and no powers of the devil can defeat you. I the Lord thy God walk with you; and I am getting you ready to come up to Heaven. Heaven has come down to us tonight,” Rev. Angley declared. “By faith, reach up and touch Heaven right now.
“What is the greatest miracle you want from God tonight?” he continued. “The Bible says, Be careful for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God (Philippians 4:6). We don’t have to bow down to sickness because the Lord conquered it for us, but He cannot work for you if you are afraid to trust Him.”
Rev. Angley’s final message to those precious people was Unveiled Vision; and he began by explaining, “A veil is something that conceals, disguises or obscures; and in this final hour, we can have no veils between us and God. We must have clear, spiritual vision and see as Jesus sees.
“We can all have unveiled vision through the Holy Spirit and the Word,” Rev. Angley continued, “but the devil puts stumbling blocks in our paths to keep us from having clear vision. Self can also be a huge veil; so we must pray, fast and live in the Word to keep self out of the way.
“Jesus came to give us clear, spiritual vision. By a new and living way, which he [Jesus] hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh (Hebrews 10:20). But the Gospel is hidden to those who will not accept Christ. But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: In whom the god of this world [the devil] hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them (II Corinthians 4:3,4).”
Rev. Angley ended the message declaring, “We must always keep our eyes on Jesus and be able to say like the Apostle Paul did, I was not disobedient unto the heavenly vision (Acts 26:19).” Then he asked the people to lift their hands and surrender to God’s vision while he prayed, “Lord, let each person here know your calling for them, and let us answer your call daily so that people all around the world can hear the truth through us.”
That glorious crusade ended with a final Holy Ghost rally and another miraculous night in the invalid section. A woman received her hearing; a man received sight in his blind eye and hearing in his deaf ear, and another man with a paralyzed arm was freely moving it all around. A lady’s stomach pain instantly disappeared; a woman with blurry vision could see much clearer, and a young lady with a lame leg could walk for the first time without a limp while declaring, “I am so happy!”
In just two weeks, thousands of souls were delivered and saved; many were baptized in the Holy Ghost, and we were not able to keep track of the many, many miracles that took place…but surely Heaven is rejoicing. Our ministry missionaries went forth with the power of the Holy Ghost, and that power turned Kigali upside down just as the Early Church disciples did to the world in their day. These that have turned the world upside down are come hither also (Acts 17:6).
As our flight crew was preparing for takeoff, the Lord again spoke to us through Rev. Angley saying, “I sent you on a divine mission, and you finished it with great power…and I am pleased, saith the Lord. I called, and you answered; and you must keep answering my call in this last hour. I am leading you…so be with me, and I will be with you in greater ways than you ever thought possible.”
We definitely had been led by the Holy Ghost on this journey, and the words to a song by the Singing Rays sum it up perfectly: Lead on, Holy Ghost…it’s your hour…time for the world to see God’s power. Lead on, Holy Ghost, and we shall follow thee. We will go with you all the way.
