Touch of the Master’s Hand

Every person is born into this world in sin and iniquity, so we all need a Savior. It doesn’t matter if you are rich or poor, what race you are or what color your skin is. Once you reach the age of accountability, you must choose to serve the Lord; or your final destination will be hell.
The Bible says, The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance (II Peter 3:9). It is God’s will for all people to come to repentance no matter who they are or where they are from, but God gave people the gift of free choice; and each person has the power to decide whether they will serve God or the devil.
Friend, who is the Master of your soul today? If you think you are, the devil has deceived you. Every soul who rejects God becomes a slave to the devil, and the devil is a cruel master. He doesn’t care about you or your soul. He doesn’t care about your health, your happiness or what you want. The devil’s goal is to use you to fulfill his evil work and then toss you aside like a piece of garbage.
You are not special to the devil in any way, but you are special to God even if you are a sinner. God can see the value of what you can be to His Kingdom once you accept the touch of the Master’s hand, the hand of Jesus Christ.
A Valuable Story
My wife and I have a picture of a violin hanging in our home, and the picture includes a story about an old violin being offered at an auction. The violin wasn’t much to look at because it was worn and tattered, and it wasn’t in very good shape.
When the violin came up onto the auction block, the auctioneer didn’t think it was worth his time to sell it or worth the people’s time to bid on it; so he started the bidding at the lowest amount possible—one dollar. To the auctioneer’s surprise, someone gave him a nod; so the auctioneer moved on to two dollars and then three dollars. There was a pause, and it appeared that was all the old, tattered violin was going to bring in.
As the auctioneer slowly said, “Three dollars going once, going twice….”, a gray-haired man in the back of the room suddenly got up, walked to the front and picked up the violin and the bow. He dusted them off with great care, tightened the strings and began to play. As the notes rang out, the people were amazed to hear a beautiful song fill the room.
Everyone’s attention was focused on that man and the violin; and as he continued to play, tears began to flow down people’s faces. When the man was finished, he gently laid the violin back in its place and quietly left the room.
There was complete silence for a moment; and then a voice rang out, “One thousand dollars!” Other voices followed with 2000 dollars and then 3000 dollars. The bids kept going up until the auctioneer closed the final bid by crying, “Going once, going twice, sold.” Some of the people cheered while others cried. No one quite understood what had suddenly changed the worth of that old, tattered violin; but the answer was simple—the violin just needed the touch of a master’s hand.
Be In Tune with God
There are many worn and tattered “violins” wandering around in the world today. We must make sure that every soul has the opportunity to have a touch of the Master’s hand by introducing as many to Jesus as we can. We must pray for souls, and every child of God should be sending forth beautiful music that will help draw lost souls to Jesus.
One instrument can make a beautiful sound, but it can be even more beautiful when many instruments are playing together in harmony. However, when one instrument is out of tune, it can ruin the whole sound. That is why in the Kingdom of God, the Bride of Christ must be in perfect harmony with the Godhead.
If you don’t stay yielded to the touch of the Master’s hand, you will try to play your own tune; and it will be a sour note to God and to others. That is why you must always speak God’s love language, even when you are unhappy with the circumstances around you. When you don’t stay yielded to the touch of the Master’s hand, you will say things you shouldn’t and do things in the wrong spirit. Instead of being a blessing to others, you will be a hindrance to the flow of the Master’s divine love.
You must have God’s love within. That’s why Paul said, Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity [love], I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal. And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing. And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing (I Corinthians 13:1-3). The touch of the Master’s hand is what takes the beautiful sound of divine love to the ears of others.
Ignore What Others Think
When you reach out for the Master’s hand, you will receive a burden for lost souls; and every child of God must know the value of a lost soul. Souls are so valuable to God that He was willing to let His Son die on a cruel Cross so everyone could have an opportunity to receive Jesus Christ into their hearts.
Mark’s Gospel tells us that the scribes and Pharisees questioned Jesus for ministering to the sinners and even eating with them at times. When Jesus heard it, he saith unto them, They that are whole have no need of the physician, but they that are sick: I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance (Mark 2:17). Jesus wasn’t worried about what the Pharisees and the scribes thought because He knew that if those sinners would yield to the touch of His hand, they would be set free from their bondage of sin.
You can’t worry about what other people think either. You just need to stay in God’s will and be a witness for Him. Jesus saw each soul for what the person could be through the divine blood, and He was willing to offer them His healing touch.
Stay Yielded to the Lord
I say again that when you stay yielded to the Master’s hand and use God’s love language, it will sound forth as beautiful music that will draw souls to Calvary. Are you yielded to the Master all the time, or do you lose your temper now and then when things don’t go your way? If you do, then you will miss souls; and some of those souls may be your own family members.
Staying yielded to the touch of the Master’s hand means you don’t respond when someone says something against you. It means you remain humble and meek when you are being falsely accused, and you don’t strike back when someone does something malicious against you. Staying yielded to the touch of the Master’s hand means doing unto others as you would want them to do to you.
Jesus was always yielded to His Father, and He was willing to win the lost at any cost. He proved His willingness and His love for souls by all that He suffered at the hands of cruel men. Are you willing to suffer for souls and for Christ’s name’s sake? The Bible says, Yet if any man suffer as a Christian, let him not be ashamed; but let him glorify God on this behalf (I Peter 4:16). If we suffer, we shall also reign with him (II Timothy 2:12).
Parable of the Lost Sheep
Many souls have wandered away from the fold, and we must be there to help them find their way back. Jesus tells three parables that deal with that in Luke 15. In the first parable, Jesus asks, What man of you, having an hundred sheep, if he lose one of them, doth not leave the ninety and nine in the wilderness, and go after that which is lost, until he find it? And when he hath found it, he layeth it on his shoulders, rejoicing. And when he cometh home, he calleth together his friends and neighbours, saying unto them, Rejoice with me; for I have found my sheep which was lost (Luke 15:4-6).
That lost sheep represents a lost soul, and the man represents our Good Shepherd, Jesus. If our Good Shepherd is willing to leave the ninety-nine to rescue one lost soul, shouldn’t you be willing to do the same? And when Jesus finds that one lost sheep, He makes the extra effort to lay it on His shoulders and carry it back to the safety of the fold. You also need to be willing to make an extra effort for a lost soul.
Once the lost sheep is safely home, Jesus wants us to rejoice. Likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth, more than over ninety and nine just persons, which need no repentance (Luke 15:7).
Parable of the Lost Coin
The second parable is about a woman who loses a coin in her house. Either what woman having ten pieces of silver, if she lose one piece, doth not light a candle, and sweep the house, and seek diligently till she find it? And when she hath found it, she calleth her friends and her neighbours together, saying, Rejoice with me; for I have found the piece which I had lost (Luke 15:8,9).
Of course, the coin didn’t know it was lost, and there will be times when you are dealing with lost souls who don’t know they are lost because they don’t know Bible truth. Jesus ended that parable saying, Likewise, I say unto you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repenteth (Luke 15:10). Angels in Heaven rejoice every time you help bring a soul into the Kingdom.
Just like that woman lit a candle to penetrate the darkness, we should also let the oil of the Holy Spirit light up our lives and penetrate the darkness of this world so we can help lost souls find their way home. It won’t be easy to bring in this final harvest because the devil is doing everything he can to get each child of God out of his or her place. You must recognize how the enemy works and be diligent in seeking lost souls just like that woman was in seeking her lost coin.
This race is almost over, and the finish line is in sight; so don’t give up. Yield to the Holy Spirit and let Him give you the strength you need to rescue lost souls. He will bring souls across your path, and He will give you the right words to say that will sound like beautiful music to their ears. Then they will not be able to resist what you are saying to them.
The Prodigal Son
The third parable is that of the prodigal son. A father’s younger son selfishly asks him for his inheritance because he wants to go out and enjoy life. The father does give him his portion of the inheritance; and a few days later, the younger son goes off to a far country where he wastes all of his inheritance on riotous living.
That young man wasn’t like the lost sheep that wandered off through neglect or like the lost coin that didn’t know it was lost. That young man intentionally left his father and went out into the world.
After the young man had spent all his money, there was a great famine in the country where he was; and he had to take a job feeding swine so he could buy food. He still didn’t make enough to be able to feed himself properly, so he started eating some of the husks he was feeding to the swine.
He finally reasoned within himself that even his father’s servants were better off than he was; so he said, I will arise and go to my father, and will say unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and before thee, And am no more worthy to be called thy son: make me as one of thy hired servants (Luke 15:18,19). The young man then headed home.
When the son was still a great way off, his father saw him and had compassion on him. He ran to his son and hugged and kissed him. Our Heavenly Father will always be watching for His lost sons and daughters of this world to come home as well.
Jesus Healed the People
You must always remember that the Lord is the Potter, and you are the clay; but you must yield to the touch of His hand if you want to be made into the person He wants you to be. But now, O LORD, thou art our father; we are the clay, and thou our potter; and we all are the work of thy hand (Isaiah 64:8).
The transforming power of the touch of the Master’s hand doesn’t end with the soul. When you receive the touch of the Master’s hand, you can also receive healing for your mind and your body. When Jesus was on Earth, people traveled from all over to receive a touch of the Master’s hand. Once the word got out that Jesus was performing miracles in a certain place, people would throng Him.
One time, the crowds were pressing so much that Jesus had to launch out in a boat to get away from them. But Jesus withdrew himself with his disciples to the sea: and a great multitude from Galilee followed him, and from Judaea, And from Jerusalem, and from Idumaea, and from beyond Jordan; and they about Tyre and Sidon, a great multitude, when they had heard what great things he did, came unto him. And he spake to his disciples, that a small ship should wait on him because of the multitude, lest they should throng him. For he had healed many; insomuch that they pressed upon him for to touch him, as many as had plagues (Mark 3:7-10). It seems that some of those people cared more about receiving miracles than they did about Jesus, but He knew their desperation and still had compassion on them.
Healing Is for Today
Unfortunately, many people today have lost sight of the power in the touch of the Master’s hand, and that hinders them in receiving miracles and healings; but the Bible says, Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever (Hebrews 13:8). Jesus healed people in Bible days, and He’s still healing people today.
Do you believe it’s God's divine will for you to be well? If healing is not God’s will, then why did Jesus have a healing ministry when He lived on Earth? Sicknesses and diseases do not come from God; they come from the devil, and the Master wants to set you free from anything that comes from the devil.
Miracles and healings confirmed the Gospel Jesus preached. And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all manner of sickness and all manner of disease among the people. And his fame went throughout all Syria: and they brought unto him all sick people that were taken with divers diseases and torments, and those which were possessed with devils, and those which were lunatic, and those that had the palsy; and he healed them (Matthew 4:23,24). The Gospel is still being confirmed with miracles and healings today.
Be Made Whole
The touch of the Master’s hand can heal you of one thing or everything; it is done according to your faith. Then touched he [Jesus] their eyes, saying, According to your faith be it unto you (Matthew 9:29). If you believe the Lord can heal you of only one thing, you will limit Him from making you whole all over.
One day when Jesus was on the shore of Galilee, people brought to Him a man who was deaf and had a speech impediment. They were seeking the touch of the Master’s hand for that man’s deliverance.
A multitude of people surrounded Jesus at that time, so he took him [the man] aside from the multitude, and put his fingers into his ears, and he spit, and touched his tongue; And looking up to heaven, he sighed, and saith unto him, Ephphatha, that is, Be opened. And straightway his ears were opened, and the string of his tongue was loosed, and he spake plain (Mark 7:33-35).
The Master didn’t limit that man to one miracle. He touched the man’s ears, and then He touched his tongue; and the man was made whole. Are you limiting the Lord in moving for you because you think you have too many things wrong with you?
The devil wants to hinder your faith by causing you to lose hope or even give up. Being told you have a deadly disease working in your body can make you lose hope, but hearing you have three deadly diseases in your body can make you give up altogether. You never need to be discouraged when you have the Lord on your side no matter what a doctor’s report says and regardless of what other people think. The touch of the Master’s hand can change a negative report into a positive report.
A member of Grace Cathedral had a rare form of cancer that doctors could not treat, and they sent him home to die; but through faith and trust in the touch of the Master’s hand, that man received a miracle. The doctors didn’t know what to think because that rare cancer was completely gone through the touch of the Master’s hand.
Divine faith brought that miracle touch to that man, and he stayed away from doubters because he didn’t want to hear any negative talk. He just kept receiving prayer and trusting in the promises of God. He talked faith to himself, and he praised the Lord for his miracle before the miracle even took place. If you are struggling to receive a miracle, check to see if you are talking doubt and fear to yourself instead of faith.
Glorify God for His Miracles
One Sabbath day, Jesus was teaching at a synagogue where there was a woman who had been bent over for 18 long years. Jesus called her over; and with a simple touch of His hand, she could stand up straight. She glorified God because she knew the touch of the Master’s hand had made her whole. Some people receive miracles; but they don’t give God all the honor, the praise and the glory for what they have received.
You must glorify God for the miracles He performs, but not everyone will do that. When Jesus delivered the woman who was bent over, the ruler of the synagogue was upset that Jesus had healed the woman on the Sabbath day. Jesus said to him, Thou hypocrite, doth not each one of you on the sabbath loose his ox or his ass from the stall, and lead him away to watering? And ought not this woman, being a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan hath bound, lo, these eighteen years, be loosed from this bond on the sabbath day (Luke 13:15,16)?
If that ruler had been bound for 18 years, I’m sure he would have been so grateful to have received a touch from the Master’s hand. That woman’s miracle was a testimony to all the people who saw her receive her miracle and to all who knew her.
Jesus Loves Little Children
The touch of the Master’s hand is for both the old and the young. People brought young children to Jesus to receive a touch from the Master’s hand, but the disciples rebuked them for doing that. Perhaps they thought Jesus was wasting His time with those young children, but every soul was important to Jesus; so He was not happy with the disciples’ actions.
Jesus said to them, Suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God. Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child, he shall not enter therein. And he took them up in his arms, put his hands upon them, and blessed them (Mark 10:14-16). I can just picture Jesus praying for those children to be healed of any affliction they may have had and to be protected all the days of their lives.
You must have childlike faith and believe in the Word of God with your whole heart if you want to enter into the Kingdom of God. Most young children believe everything their parents tell them, and we should believe God and His Word the same way.
The Gospel Must Be Preached
After Jesus was resurrected, He said to the disciples, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover (Mark 16:15-18).
After Jesus had ascended back to Heaven, that is exactly what the disciples did. And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following (Mark 16:20). They used the touch of the Master’s hand to help people wherever they went; and through the power of the Holy Ghost, the Lord is still working through people today. The Word of God has been confirmed through this Jesus ministry in a great way, and people are receiving miracles and healings.
Paul Received the Master’s Touch
When the Lord knocked Paul into the dust on the road to Damascus, Paul was finally saved; but he was left blind. Then the Lord called on Ananias to go and lay hands on Paul, who was then called Saul of Tarsus, so he could receive his sight. At first, Ananias didn’t want to go because he had heard about all the evil things Saul had done to Christians; but God told him, Go thy way: for he is a chosen vessel unto me, to bear my name before the Gentiles, and kings, and the children of Israel: For I will shew him how great things he must suffer for my name's sake (Acts 9:15,16).
Ananias had to yield completely to God’s will so the touch of the Master’s hand could work through him by the power of the Holy Spirit. When he went and laid hands on Paul, Paul didn’t only receive his miracle; he also received the Holy Ghost. Paul’s conversion was shocking to many people, but that’s what the touch of the Master’s hand can do for a soul.
While Ananias was on his way to pray for Paul, he easily could have backed out in fear because of Paul’s reputation; but he didn’t. The Bible says, For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind (II Timothy 1:7). The touch of the Master’s hand does not work through fear; it works through divine faith and love.
When you are born again, you become a part of the body of Christ to be used in any way the Master desires; and after Paul’s conversion, he gave his all to the Lord for the rest of his life. Paul had once been a taker of life; but through the touch of the Master’s hand, he became one of the greatest apostles and helped restore lives. God had a plan for Paul’s life, and He has a plan for your life as well; but you must focus on Jesus at all times.
God Wants to Forgive You
Sinner, don’t ever think you have done something so terrible that your Heavenly Father won’t forgive you. The only unforgivable sin spoken of in the Bible is blaspheming against the Holy Ghost. Other than that, God will forgive you of anything. I have ministered to prisoners in other countries who have told me that they have done too many terrible deeds for the Lord to forgive them, but I told them that God already knows what they have done; and He is just waiting for them to ask for His forgiveness so the blood of His Son can wash them clean. That’s all your Heavenly Father wants you to do too—humble yourself and ask for forgiveness.
Sinner, Backslider, the Lord will touch your life and deliver you from all your sins if you will just reach out for the touch of the Master’s hand and give your heart to Him. Don’t miss this glorious opportunity to be blood-washed and made into a brand-new creature in Christ.
Pray with me now and say, Oh, God, save my soul. Forgive me for my sins. I have come home to serve you for the rest of my life. And I believe that the blood of Jesus washes away all of my sins. Come into my heart, Jesus. Come on in. Amen. If you meant that prayer, you now have Jesus Christ in your heart.
Receive a Miracle Touch
Now, let the touch of the Master’s hand give you a miracle right now. It doesn’t matter what sicknesses or diseases you may have—God made you; He can heal you. Close your case and let the Lord heal you today.
Lord, Heavenly Father, the people are believing you will heal them now. Move for them in a special way. Break their bondages and set them free in the blood name of Jesus Christ, I pray. I curse every sickness and disease in their bodies. Heal them in the holy blood name of Jesus Christ, and let everything in their bodies come to normal. Amen.
Friend, look for every sign of improvement and always give God the praise, the honor and the glory for what He has done for you. Then write, email or post a message to social media to tell us about it. We would love to hear from you and share your testimony.
