Third Appearance of Christ
Volume 33 The Mysteries of God
by Ernest Angley
September 1996
The first appearance of Christ was as the Babe in Bethlehem. He grew to manhood and died on the cross to save us from our sins. His second appearance in midair at the Rapture of the Church is looked forward to with great expectation by the Bride.
Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth (Revelation 3:10).
John, as he is taken up into Heaven in a vision, is a type of the raptured Bride of Christ: After this I looked, and, behold, a door was opened in heaven: and the first voice which I heard was as it were of a trumpet talking with me; which said, Come up hither, and I will shew thee things which must be hereafter (Revelation 4:1). Jesus is coming with the voice of the Archangel as the trumpet of God sounds. In John’s vision it was like a trumpet talking to him; and, when the Rapture takes place, it will be like the trumpet talking to the children of God: “Come up hither!” As that voice comes forth as a trumpet, the Bride will understand it. With great joy she will rise in the air to ever be with the Lord. How wonderful to look up and see a door opened in Heaven at the second appearance of Christ!
When Jesus come to Earth the second time, He will come as a thief in the night. The world will not see Him, will not even be conscious that He has come and gone until they realize people are mysteriously missing. Even then, many will not believe that the Lord has taken His Bride back to Glory with Him.
And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints (Revelation 19:8). The Bride will be dressed in fine white linen, in the righteousness of her Lord.
John continues: And immediately I was in the spirit; and, behold, a throne was set in heaven, and one sat on the throne (Revelation 4:2). Immediately John was in the Spirit, and immediately the Bride will be caught up; immediately she will be before the throne of God. This is the Blessed Hope, the promise to the Bride of the Rapture.
A search in made in Heaven for someone to open a seven-sealed book that holds the key to Earth’s redemption. No one is found at first. John is devastated. Will there be tears in Heaven? John wept much. God the Father cries; the Son cries; the Holy Spirit cries. At this time, God hasn’t wiped away all the tears. When He wipes them away, no more tears will be in Heaven. And one of the elders saith unto me, Weep not: behold, the Lion of the tribe of Juda, the Root of David, hath prevailed to open the book, and to loose the seven seals thereof. And I beheld, and, lo, in the midst of the throne and of the four beasts, and in the midst of the elders, stood a Lamb as it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent forth into all the earth (Revelation 5:5,6).
Jesus is the only one who could break the seven seals of the book. John sees Him as the Lamb, and that is the way the Bride will see Him as she is caught up into Glory. However, the Lamb that John is seeing will soon take the role of the Lion of the tribe of Judah, opening the seven-sealed book and pouring out terrible judgments.
And he came and took the book out of the right hand of him that sat upon the throne. And when he had taken the book, the four beasts and four and twenty elders fell down before the Lamb, having every one of them harps, and golden vials full of odours, which are the prayers of saints. And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation; And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth [in the Perfect Age] (Revelation 5:7-10).
And I saw when the Lamb opened one of the seals, and I heard, as it were the noise of thunder, one of the four beasts saying, Come and see. And I saw, and behold a white horse: and he that sat on him had a bow; and a crown was given unto him: and he went forth conquering, and to conquer (Revelation 6:1,2). The rider is the Antichrist. The white horse he is riding signifies peace; but it will be a false peace. He will come with all the splendor and glory that the Jews expect of their Messiah, and they will make a covenant with him. A man with all the answers, a man who people will think will bring peace, is a leader the world is seeking today.
Seal after seal of the seven-sealed book is broken and judgments fall with the opening of each seal. Jesus, our Redeemer Kinsman, is fit, willing and able to open each seal and bring about the redemption of the earth as well as of man. In the Old Testament days, a redeemer kinsman could buy back a possession a relative had lost—or a relative who had gone into slavery. When Jesus became related to the human race, He qualified as a redeemer, and He was willing and able to redeem. He proved that He is our Redeemer Kinsman for the soul by His sacrifice at Calvary, and now He will be the Redeemer of the earth.
Jesus, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, opens the seals which bring famines, earthquakes, fire, war, starvation. Death will be turned loose upon the earth. And I looked, and behold a pale horse: and his name that sat on him was Death, and Hell followed with him. And power was given unto them over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword, and with hunger, and with death, and with the beasts of the earth (Revelation 6:8) One-fourth of the people on Earth will be killed at this time.
And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held. And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth (Revelation 6:9,10). The souls in Heaven won’t know how long it will be until the Lord brings judgment.
And white robes were given unto every one of them; and it was said unto them, that they should rest yet for a little season, until their fellow-servants also and their brethren, that should be killed as they were, should be fulfilled. And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood; And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind. And the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places. And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains; And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb: For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand (Revelation 6:11-17)? Great fear will overwhelm everyone—rich or poor, mighty or weak—as they recognize God’s supreme power.
And when he had opened the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven about the space of half an hour (Revelation 8:1). What is to come now will be so terrible, so awful that even Heaven will stop for half an hour. And I saw the seven angels which stood before God; and to them were given seven trumpets (verse 2). When each of those seven trumpets sound, horrible things take place.
The first angel sounded, and there followed hail and fire mingled with blood, and they were cast upon the earth: and the third part of trees was burnt up, and all green grass was burnt up. And the second angel sounded, and as it were a great mountain burning with fire was cast into the sea: and the third part of the sea became blood; And the third part of the creatures which were in the sea, and had life, died; and the third part of the ships were destroyed (Revelation 8:7-9). What a stench that will be as the dead sea creatures are cast up on the shores!
And the third angel sounded, and there fell a great star from heaven, burning as it were a lamp, and it fell upon the third part of the rivers, and upon the fountains of waters; And the name of the star is called Wormwood: and the third part of the waters became wormwood; and many men died of the waters, because they were made bitter. And the fourth angel sounded, and the third part of the sun was smitten, and the third part of the moon, and the third part of the stars; so as the third part of them was darkened, and the day shone not for a third part of it, and the night likewise (Revelation 8:10-12). Later, neither the moon nor the sun will shine at all; later there will be no stars to shine. Study these things; you don’t want to face them—and don’t need to face them if you are ready to be taken out when Jesus comes the second time to take His Bride with Him.
And the fifth angel sounded, and I saw a star fall from heaven unto the earth: and to him was given the key of the bottomless pit. And he opened the bottomless pit; and there arose a smoke out of the pit, as the smoke of a great furnace; and the sun and the air were darkened by reason of the smoke of the pit. And there came out of the smoke locusts upon the earth: and unto them was given power, as the scorpions of the earth have power. And it was commanded them that they should not hurt the grass of the earth, neither any green thing, neither any tree; but only those men which have not the seal of God in their foreheads (Revelation 9:1-4). These creatures are a different kind of locusts; they are commanded to not eat anything green. It isn’t vegetation they will be after, but men, women, boys and girls, those without the seal of God. You have heard how a swarm of locusts will devastate people. And to them it was given that they should not kill them, but that they should be tormented five months: and their torment was as the torment of a scorpion, when he striketh a man. And in those days shall men seek death, and shall not find it; and shall desire to die, and death shall flee from them (verses 5,6). Man’s worst nightmare will be nothing compared to the reality of the Tribulation Period. For five months people will not even be able to die. Think how frightening this is going to be!
And the shapes of the locusts were like unto horses prepared unto battle; and on their heads were as it were crowns like gold, and their faces were as the faces of men. And they had hair as the hair of women, and their teeth were as the teeth of lions. And they had breastplates, as it were breastplates of iron; and the sound of their wings was as the sound of chariots of many horses running to battle. And they had tails like unto scorpions, and there were stings in their tails: and their power was to hurt men five months (Revelation 9:7-10).
The torment goes on and on. Now the sixth angel sounds, and an army of two hundred million is set loose whose power is in their mouth, and in their tails: for their tails were like unto serpents, and had heads, and with them they do hurt. And the rest of the men which were not killed by these plagues yet repented not of the works of their hands, that they should not worship devils, and idols of gold, and silver, and brass, and stone, and of wood: which neither can see, nor hear, nor walk: Neither repented they of their murders, nor of their sorceries, nor of their fornication, nor of their thefts (Revelation 9:19-21). Some people claim that these creatures are armies of men, but not so. In verse twenty, the Bible plainly calls them plagues: The rest of the men which were not killed by these plagues.
Plagues will bring judgment in the Tribulation Period like the plagues brought judgment on Pharaoh in Old Testament days, only these will be more drastic, millions of times worse. Even then, people won’t repent of their works. Their consciences are seared; they recognize God, hate Him and blame Him for it all. God is proving that He is all-powerful, all-mighty. Everyone sooner or later will be a believer in Him, those in Heaven and those in hell.
Look around in this late hour; what God will destroy in the Tribulation Period is here today. Many stand against God, blaspheme His name no matter what He does. They want no part of Him, seeking instead their fornications, their thefts, their devil worship, their witchcraft, their sins. No value is placed on the soul as on and on they go in their sins. They die without calling out to God for forgiveness. Men’s hearts are growing harder and harder.
Things will not get better; the spirit of the Antichrist is changing the behavior of people more and more, influencing the actions of the government. How many people are really living holy and free from all sin? How many are looking for Jesus to come? The world mocks people like that. There shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts, And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation (II Peter 3:3,4). Scoffers make fun of the ones who really believe in the coming of the Lord.
The devil moves on people to set the time of Jesus’ coming. The dates come and go, and no return. Those people are fanatics; they don’t have the Spirit of God in them. Now the world mocks even more, lumps the fanatics in with the true believers. We know He is coming, for the endtime signs are everywhere, but we do not know the day, the month or even the year. Jesus told of the signs of the end of the age, and said, When these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh (Luke 21:28). We only know that the signs He spoke of have come to pass in our day.
Jesus will make His second appearance and then after seven years, He will make His third appearance. Understand all three appearances of Christ. By giving your heart to Jesus, you received the salvation that He brought in His first appearance, by honoring Him as the Redeemer, the Christ who died for you. Now you can give Him honor by believing Him and preparing to meet Him in the air when He comes the second time. In His final appearance you, as a member of the bridal company, will appear with Him to close out the Battle of Armageddon. Jesus described the Great Tribulation Period as such a terrible time that except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved (Matthew 24:22).
God let the prophets know of the destruction, of the all-out hatred of God that will be poured without mixture, all the hate God has for the devil and sin. God can hate just as much as He can love.
God despises the devil. Part of God’s judgment has already fallen on him. The devil who once was the most beautiful creature is now the most grotesque, hideous, monstrous being imaginable. Nothing and no one is as repulsive as the devil, not even the demons themselves, the fallen angels. Before he was cast out of Heaven, he had taken pride in how beautiful he was, and vanity took him over. He didn’t give God the glory for his beauty; he lifted himself above God.
The first two appearances of Jesus are full of love, but at the third appearance, He will come all the way to Earth, and woe, woe to the inhabitants of the earth who are not right with God. With judgment He will appear as the Lion of the Tribe of Judah, the Root of David. The Tribulation Period will be so awful that its description couldn’t all be given to a human mind; but we have glimpses of what will happen as the heavens pour out nothing but sorrow, heartache and punishment. The world has never seen a time like it.
Proclaim ye this among the Gentiles; Prepare war, wake up the mighty men, let all the men of war draw near; let them come up: Beat your plowshares into swords, and your pruninghooks into spears: let the weak say, I am strong. Assemble yourselves, and come, all ye heathen, and gather yourselves together round about: thither cause thy mighty ones to come down, O LORD. Let the heathen be wakened, and come up to the valley of Jehoshaphat: for there will I sit to judge all the heathen round about. Put ye in the sickle, for the harvest is ripe: come, get you down; for the press is full, the vats overflow; for their wickedness is great. Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision: for the day of the LORD is near in the valley of decision. The sun and the moon shall be darkened, and the stars shall withdraw their shining. The LORD also shall roar out of Zion, and utter his voice from Jerusalem; and the heavens and the earth shall shake: but the LORD will be the hope of his people, and the strength of the children of Israel (Joel 3:9-16). Jesus is the one with the sickle of judgments so terrible that the sun will refuse to shine and the moon will turn into blood. The moon and stars look friendly now, but the time will come when the stars will fall even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind (Revelation 6:13). Everything connected with God in the heavens, as well as the earth itself, will be affected by His judgments.
And he gathered them together into a place called in the Hebrew tongue Armageddon (Revelation 16:16). Jesus warned about this war to end all wars the first time He was here: For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be. And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect’s sake those days shall be shortened (Matthew 24:21,22). For the sake of the Jews, the Lord will shorten the days of the Great Tribulation, for the remnant that will be left. And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory (Matthew 24:30). The Bride will be happy when she looks up and sees Jesus coming for her, but in the Tribulation Period at His third appearance, all tribes will see the Lion of the Tribe of Judah, fierce, full of judgment.
And there were voices, and thunders, and lightnings; and there was a great earthquake, such as was not since men were upon the earth, so mighty an earthquake, and so great. And the great city was divided into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell: and great Babylon came in remembrance before God, to give unto her the cup of the wine of the fierceness of his wrath. And every island fled away, and the mountains were not found. And there fell upon men a great hail out of heaven, every stone about the weight of a talent: and men blasphemed God because of the plague of the hail; for the plague thereof was exceeding great (Revelation 16:18-21). A storm of deadly hail, each stone weighing one talent, or ninety-eight pounds, will cause enormous damage. Do people seek God for safety from the storm? No, they curse Him.
I was imprisoned in Germany for preaching the Gospel and praying for the sick; and soon after I left, a great storm struck with hailstones the size of tennis balls, injuring 300 people and causing extensive damage running into tens of millions of dollars. Windows were broken in buildings, cars, buses, street cars. Roofs were damaged and crops flattened. Hailstones damaged one hundred small planes and twenty-two commercial airliners, and much more. Think what destruction hailstones many, many times larger than tennis balls will bring! God sent the fearful storm in judgment; He was angry. God told me He was going to send judgment, and judgment He sent.
Jesus spoke about the end of the age: Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken (Matthew 24:29). Zechariah the prophet writes, Behold, the day of the LORD cometh, and thy spoil shall be divided in the midst of thee. For I will gather all nations against Jerusalem to battle; and the city shall be taken, and the houses rifled, and the women ravished; and half of the city shall go forth into captivity, and the residue of the people shall not be cut off from the city. Then shall the LORD go forth, and fight against those nations, as when he fought in the day of battle. And his feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the east, and the mount of Olives shall cleave in the midst thereof toward the east and toward the west, and there shall be a very great valley; and half of the mountain shall remove toward the north, and half of it toward the south (Zechariah 14:1-4).
And this shall be the plague wherewith the LORD will smite all the people that have fought against Jerusalem; Their flesh shall consume away while they stand upon their feet, and their eyes shall consume away in their holes, and their tongue shall consume away in their mouth (Zechaiah 14:12). What God will rain down will be so terrible that before the body can fall, the flesh will be consumed. In a flash, the flesh will be gone from the bones.
Behold, I will make Jerusalem a cup of trembling unto all the people round about, when they shall be in the siege both against Judah and against Jerusalem. And in that day will I make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people: all that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces, though all the people of the earth be gathered together against it (Zechariah 12:2,3). When God’s judgment makes a cup of trembling, that judgment is ferocious.
And I will show wonders in the heavens and in the earth, blood, and fire, and pillars of smoke. The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and the terrible day of the LORD come. And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the LORD shall be delivered: for in mount Zion and in Jerusalem shall be deliverance, as the LORD hath said, and in the remnant whom the LORD shall call (Joel 2:30-32). On third of Israel that will be left will call on the name of the Lord. From Mount Zion and Jerusalem will come deliverance for the Jews.
For, behold, in those days, and in that time, when I shall bring again the captivity of Judah and Jerusalem, I will also gather all nations, and will bring them down into the valley of Jehoshaphat, and will plead with them there for my people and for my heritage Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations, and parted my land (Joel 3:1,2). The valley of Jehoshaphat is believed to be the valley between the Mount of Olives and the Old City of Jerusalem. Judgment is coming for parting the land and for scattering the Jews. It will be judgment day for the heathen.
As you can see, God did not withhold the vision of the coming destruction of the Tribulation Period. If you are not ready to meet the Lord, you are facing this period of time. Were the Rapture to take place now, you would be left to experience the horrors of the Tribulation Period.
Isaiah tells of this time: Behold, the LORD maketh the earth empty, and maketh it waste, and turneth it upside down, and scattereth abroad the inhabitants thereof (Isaiah 24:1). The earth will reel and rock under the judgment of God. Day after day people will live in terror. And it shall be, as with the people, so with the priest; as with the servant, so with his master; as with the maid, so with her mistress; as with the buyer, so with the seller; as with the lender, so with the borrower; as with the taker of usury, so with the giver of usury to him. The land shall be utterly emptied, and utterly spoiled: for the LORD hath spoken this word (verses 2,3). Everyone who is ungodly will be treated alike; no one will escape; no one will be able to buy his way out.
Therefore hath the curse devoured the earth, and they that dwell therein are desolate: therefore the inhabitants of the earth are burned, and few men left (Isaiah 24:6). Relatively speaking, only a few men will be left when this war is over. I marvel at the insight God gave the prophets of old! Jesus confirmed their prophecies when He was here. John the Revelator added more in the book of Revelation.
Isaiah continues: The earth is utterly broken down, the earth is clean dissolved, the earth is moved exceedingly. The earth shall reel to and fro like a drunkard, and shall be removed like a cottage; and the transgression thereof shall be heavy upon it; and it shall fall, and not rise again. And it shall come to pass in that day, that the LORD shall punish the host of the high ones that are on high, and the kings of the earth upon the earth. And they shall be gathered together, as prisoners are gathered in the pit, and shall be shut up in the prison, and after many days shall they be visited. Then the moon shall be confounded, and the sun ashamed, when the LORD of hosts shall reign in mount Zion, and in Jerusalem, and before his ancients gloriously (Isaiah 24:19-23). It won’t be the same earth, but God doesn’t care; He will melt it down. The earth will never be the same again. God will punish the high and mighty and the kings of the earth, whose who have mercilessly ruled others and thought they were a law unto themselves. They will all be treated like prisoners. The moon will be confounded, the sun ashamed of the way Lord Jesus has been treated.
And ye shall flee to the valley of the mountains; for the valley of the mountains shall reach unto Azal: yea, ye shall flee, like as ye fled from before the earthquake in the days of Uzziah king of Judah: and the LORD my God shall come, and all the saints with thee (Zechariah 14:5). And I will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplications: and they shall look upon me whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for him, as one mourneth for his only son, and shall be in bitterness for him, as one that is in bitterness for his firstborn (Zechariah 12:10). Zechariah is talking about the third of Israel that will be spared. At last they will be repentant, mourning for Jesus as they would mourn for an only son who had died. No longer will they have scales on their eyes to keep them from seeing the truth, nothing to keep them from hearing what the Lord is saying. No one, even those who believe only in the Old Testament, will be able to say they didn’t know about the end of the age. God always warns before judgment, especially before terrible judgments. Never before has there been another judgment like the judgment of the Tribulation Period.
Ezekiel speaks of Russia, Magog, and Russia’s leader, Gog, going down on Israel: And it shall come to pass at the same time when Gog shall come against the land of Israel, saith the Lord GOD, that my fury shall come up in my face. For in my jealousy and in the fire of my wrath have I spoken, Surely in that day there shall be a great shaking in the land of Israel; So that the fishes of the sea, and the fowls of the heaven, and the beasts of the field, and all creeping things that creep upon the earth, and all the men that are upon the face of the earth, shall shake at my presence, and the mountains shall be thrown down, and the steep places shall fall, and every wall shall fall to the ground. And I will call for a sword against him throughout all my mountains, saith the Lord GOD: every man’s sword shall be against his brother. And I will plead against him with pestilence and with blood; and I will rain upon him, and upon his bands, and upon the many people that are with him, an overflowing rain, and great hailstones, fire, and brimstone. Thus will I magnify myself, and sanctify myself; and I will be known in the eyes of many nations, and they shall know that I am the LORD (Ezekiel 38:18-23). The cities will fall—here it’s verified by the prophet Ezekiel. Only mercy has held back the judgments of God so far; now we read of judgment without mercy. When God has enough, He moves whether it’s against a nation or an individual. Those who wouldn’t accept the Almighty God through grace will know Him through judgment: some will honor Him; some will curse Him.
Therefore, thou son of man, prophesy against Gog, and say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I am against thee, O Gog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal: And I will turn thee back, and leave but the sixth part of thee, and will cause thee to come up from the north parts, and will bring thee upon the mountains of Israel (Ezekiel 39:1,2). All of the Russian armies and allies—except for one sixth—will be killed in Israel. God help us in this hour to know what is about to happen!
Who is this that cometh from Edom, with dyed garments from Bozrah? this that is glorious in his apparel, travelling in the greatness of his strength? Who is this? None other than the man called Jesus. I that speak in righteousness, mighty to save (Isaiah 63:1). Wherefore art thou red in thine apparel, and thy garments like him that treadeth in the winefat? I have trodden the winepress alone; and of the people there was none with me: for I will tread them in mine anger, and trample them in my fury; and their blood shall be sprinkled upon my garments, and I will stain all my raiment (verses 2,3). Yes, Jesus stained His raiment with mercy, and now it will be stained with the blood of those who refused that mercy. For the day of vengeance is in mine heart, and the year of my redeemed is come (verse 4). The year for the earth to receive its redemption has come, and the year of redemption for the Jewish people who will accept Christ.
And it shall come to pass in that day, that the prophets shall be ashamed every one of his vision, when he hath prophesied; neither shall they wear a rough garment to deceive (Zechariah 13:4). The deceit will be gone from those false prophets. They prophesied against Jesus, against His work, His power and the greatness of God. And one shall say unto him, What are these wounds in thine hands? Then he shall answer, Those with which I was wounded in the house of my friends (verse 6). The nail-scarred hands, wounded in the house of friends…His friends didn’t believe Jesus; they rejected Him. He accepted them as friends, and they crucified Him.
Awake, O sword, against my shepherd, and against the man that is my fellow, saith the LORD of hosts: smite the shepherd, and the sheep shall be scattered: and I will turn mine hand upon the little ones. And it shall come to pass, that in all the land, saith the LORD, two parts therein shall be cut off and die; but the third shall be left therein (Zechariah 13:7,8). This is a revelation about Jesus to the Jewish people, but so many, even after all they will go through, will not accept Him. Only one third, remember, will be saved. And I will bring the third part through the fire, and will refine them as silver is refined, and will try them as gold is tried: they shall call on my name, and I will hear them: I will say, It is my people: and they shall say, The LORD is my God (verse 9). A nation brought through the fire will be born in a day, refined, as pure as the Bride.
And the sixth angel poured out his vial upon the great river Euphrates; and the water thereof was dried up, that the way of the kings of the east might be prepared. And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs come out of the mouth of the dragon [the devil], and out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet. For they are the spirits of devils, working miracles, which go forth unto the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty (Revelation 16:12-14). Asian nations will come down on the Holy Land, gathered by demonic spirits
The nations today are preparing for the Battle of Armageddon; the stage is being set. Nations are crying for peace, but when they cry peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape (I Thessalonians 5:3). America will be caught lacking; as a whole she has forgotten God, outlawed the Bible and prayer in schools. Many ministers no longer preach the blood of Jesus, a born-again experience, or that sin belongs to the devil.
Daniel had a vision in which he was told that seventy weeks were determined upon the Jewish people. We understand these to be not ordinary weeks, but weeks of years. In other words, the vision was for 490 years, the Jewish dispensation. Daniel told what would take place in the first sixty-nine weeks of years up to the crucifixion of Christ when the Messiah would be cut off, and all has been fulfilled. At the Crucifixion, the Jewish dispensation was interrupted seven years short of completion, and the Gentile dispensation began. Almost two thousand years of the Gentile dispensation—the Church Age—has passed, and seven remaining years of the Jewish dispensation are yet to be fulfilled, the time known as Daniel’s seventieth week. That seven-year period will not begin until the Gentile dispensation closes with the Rapture of the Bride of Christ. At that time the Antichrist will come on the scene and make a covenant with the Jewish nation for seven years. Daniel was told by God that in the middle of the week, after three-and-a-half years, the prince, or the Antichrist, will cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease. He will break his covenant with the Jews, setting himself up in the temple of God declaring that he is not the Son of God, but God Himself. Horrified, the Jews will flee into the wilderness. The devil will try to drown them, but God will not allow it. God will hide them during a special time in the Tribulation Period. Some Jews, however, will remain behind to fight.
Thousands of years ago, Enoch prophesied about the Battle of Armageddon. And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints, To execute judgment upon all, and to convince all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have ungodly committed, and of all their hard speeches which ungodly sinners have spoken against him (Jude 14,15). People think they are getting by with their blasphemy, but they are not. Judgment Day will come.
And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand, The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb: And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name (Revelation 14:9-11). His wrath poured out without mixture means that it contains no grace, no love, no mercy, no compassion. All-out judgment will be rained down, the undiluted wrath of God. The judgments for the wicked will not only be here on Earth but will last throughout eternity.
Joel speaks of the sickle of judgment, and now we read of it in John’s writings: And I looked, and behold a white cloud, and upon the cloud one sat like unto the Son of man, having on his head a golden crown, and in his hand a sharp sickle. And another angel came out of the temple, crying with a loud voice to him that sat on the cloud, Thrust in thy sickle, and reap: for the time is come for thee to reap; for the harvest of the earth is ripe. And he that sat on the cloud thrust in his sickle on the earth; and the earth was reaped. And another angel came out of the temple which is in heaven, he also having a sharp sickle. And another angel came out from the altar, which had power over fire; and cried with a loud cry to him that had the sharp sickle, saying, Thrust in thy sharp sickle, and gather the clusters of the vine of the earth; for her grapes are fully ripe. And the angel thrust in his sickle into the earth, and gathered the vine of the earth, and cast it into the great winepress of the wrath of God. And the winepress was trodden without the city, and blood came out of the winepress, even unto the horse bridles, by the space of a thousand and six hundred furlongs (Revelation 14:14-20). There will be so much blood in the Holy Land at that time that it will reach the horses’ bridles and flow for one thousand six hundred furlongs, or two hundred miles. Multitudes will be killed.
And I saw as it were a sea of glass mingled with fire: and them that had gotten the victory over the beast, and over his image, and over his mark, and over the number of his name, stand on the sea of glass, having the harps of God. And they sing the song of Moses the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying, Great and marvellous are thy works, Lord God Almighty; just and true are thy ways, thou King of saints (Revelation 15:2,3). This is the testimony of the children of God as they sing the song of Moses and the blood song of Jesus. Even the angels can’t sing this song. The song of the Lamb is the blood song that only the redeemed can sing.
Who shall not fear thee, O Lord, and glorify thy name? for thou only art holy: for all nations shall come and worship before thee; for thy judgments are made manifest (Revelation 15:4). This verse is speaking of the Perfect Age when all nations will come to worship the Lord.
And I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the fowls that fly in the midst of heaven, Come and gather yourselves together unto the supper of the great God; That ye may eat the flesh of kings, and the flesh of captains, and the flesh of mighty men, and the flesh of horses, and of them that sit on them, and the flesh of all men, both free and bond, both small and great. And I saw the beast, and the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against him that sat on the horse, and against his army (Revelation 19:17-19). At the great supper of the Lord God Almighty He will feed men and women to the fowls of the air and the beasts of the field. No one will be excused no matter the position he held on Earth.
The Bride, now in her glorified form, is coming back to Earth to finish the Battle of Armageddon with her Lord, Master and Groom. John the Revelator describes this third appearance: And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war (Revelation 19:11). In righteous Jesus will judge, pronouncing grave penalties such as the world has never imagined. His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself. And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God (verses 12,13). The blood that was spilled on Calvary, that precious blood that man has trampled underfoot will cover His vesture. And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean (verse 14). The fine white linen, remember, represents the righteousness of the saints of God.
A sword represents the Word of God, and now that Word is without mercy. Jesus is coming with pure judgment and destruction: And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God (Revelation 19:15). As grapes are trampled to get the juice, Jesus will trample the wicked with judgment; blood will run as the very life is pressed out of people. The nations will be ruled with an iron rod; those who are not saved will not be able to manifest their sins.
And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS (Revelation 19:16). The time is coming that God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit will reach the end of their longsuffering, and woe to the inhabitants of the earth! Study the great dispensation of the Church Age and the seven churches of Revelation that represent the different time periods of it. We are right at the season for the last two appearances of Jesus.
God poured His Word through holy, God-fearing prophets. Had sin been in those men, God would not have used them. For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost (II Peter 1:21). God doesn’t call anyone holy who has one sin. The biblical prophets wrote what was given them by the Holy Ghost.
This is an hour of the revelations of the second and third appearances of Christ, of where we are going, of knowing what is going to happen to the earth, of knowing that Jesus is coming with the saints of God to finish the Battle of Armageddon.
After the Battle of Armageddon it will look as though the earth will never rise again; all the cities will have been destroyed: New York, Tokyo, Berlin, London, Moscow, Hong Kong and the rest. People talk about Los Angeles sinking into the ocean—they are more right than they realize. The great earthquake, the “big one,” will be more devastating than anyone could imagine. The only place to hide is in the blood of Jesus. The devil will be cast into the bottomless pit, the Antichrist and the Antispirit into the lake of fire. The nations will be judged. The sheep nations, those who were good to the Jews, will enter the Perfect Age; and the goat nations, those who mistreated the Jews, will go into the lake of fire. The lion personality of Jesus hates ungodliness so much that He will destroy it all.
God, we thank you that we have the light of Jesus! We thank you, Lord, for the blood! And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony (Revelation 12:11). Only through the Word and the blood will we be overcomers. Only through the Holy Spirit can we be made ready to escape the horror that’s coming on the earth.
In this hour, the Holy Ghost is pouring out much to the Bride in signs, wonders, miracles and healings. The great gifts of the Holy Spirit, the nine gifts are manifesting the greatness of God for the Bride. The gift of discerning of spirits is uncovering the deceit of the devil in people. The gift of knowledge is letting God’s people know that God is mindful of everything that has ever happened to them, and the greatest thing is when they found Calvary. How wonderful!
The Holy Ghost will be given to those who obey Him: The Holy Ghost, whom God hath given to them that obey him (Acts 5:32). Jesus is coming for an obedient Bride. Let no one deceive you about the baptism in the Holy Spirit; it is a necessity, not an option if you expect to be ready for Jesus to come. You have no excuse for deceit, for you have the Word of God. No matter how many preachers or lay people have told you that you don’t need to be saved and baptized in the Holy Spirit, the Bible tells you differently. Those in the Upper Room were saved before they received their baptism in the Holy Ghost. Salvation and the Holy Ghost baptism are two different experiences. Receiving the Holy Ghost is a commandment of Jesus: And, being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, saith he, ye have heard of me. For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence (Acts 1:4,5).
Receiving the Holy Ghost is still a command for the closing hour of the Church today. We are seeing the greatest pouring out of the Holy Spirit upon the Gentiles that has ever been, one of the great signs of the age. Another great sign is the gathering back of the Jews to the Holy Land just as the Lord revealed to the prophets of old that it would happen. Ezekiel’s vision of the valley of dry bones represents the scattered Jews, a dead people. God told Ezekiel to prophesy and say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, O my people, I will open your graves, and cause you to come up out of your graves, and bring you into the land of Israel (Ezekiel 37:12).
Sinner, you face the judgments of God, a period of time that no words could adequately describe. I have given you only samples of endtime prophecies from different prophets. None could tell it all; however, God has told us enough, and we know He is truth. Again and again He has fulfilled prophecies, confirmed what the prophets have written, and all will be fulfilled.
John the Revelator had been close to Jesus in the flesh. John, the one leaning on His breast at the Last Supper, is called the disciple that Jesus loved. Jesus had told him much, preparing him for what was to come, grooming him in a way that He may not have been able to groom any other disciple.
The Gospel of John is blessed, different from the other Gospels. It goes beyond what the other Gospels tell us and makes salvation wonderfully plain. No one could ever write the love of Heaven better than John. First, Second and Third John are filled with wonderful truths of God. He that committeth sin is of the devil, John wrote in I John 3:8. But through Jesus, we have victory over it all.
That same John, on the Isle of Patmos on the Lord’s day, received the most complete revelation of all the prophets of the endtime hour. What brought it about? The blood, the love of Jesus. God so loved the world that He gave Jesus to save us from our sins. John loved Jesus with all his heart. How much of what the vision revealed had John known in advance; how much had he heard from the lips of Jesus? The Bible doesn’t say, but I believe that John, in his great love and eagerness to hold on to every word Jesus spoke, was able to learn more because Jesus shared more with him than He shared with any other of the disciples. With God, love makes all the difference. When you love Him with all your heart, the Word is revealed to you, the truths come flowing like a mighty river from the throne of God.
The third appearance—I pray the knowledge of it will live with you, help you to be ready for the second appearance. You who have not taken advantage of the first appearance, I entreat you as one who stands in fear of Almighty God for you: take advantage of that marvelous opportunity now. Jesus is coming soon: Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him (Revelation 1:7).
Every eye shall see Him when He comes the third time, but it won’t be a comforting sight. He will have the most ferocious look that man has ever seen. No one will have ever looked so terrible as the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Son of God, when He come in judgment. His eyes like fire, He will descend not in love but in fury and all the hate that the Godhead has felt for sin these thousands of years. All the judgments of destruction that God has held back in His great love will be poured out. Woe, woe to the inhabitants of the earth! Even the angels scream it.
Where will you be when the sun refuses to shine, when the moon turns into blood and the stars of Heaven begin to fall? Where will you be when men, women, boys and girls run for the rocks and mountains, crying for the rocks and the mountains to fall on them? There will be no hiding place for those who have rejected His love. They could have had it, but they didn’t want it.
You can have His love now. I warn you: Some of you are not ready to meet the Lord, saith the Lord. You have the knowledge of what will happen after the Rapture takes place, and you have only a short while to get ready. How sad for you to be left! If you are not ready, pray this prayer with me now: Oh, God: I am lost! So many things are coming upon the earth—please God, don’t leave me behind when Jesus comes! Please God, help me to be ready! Help me to be holy without spot, wrinkle, blemish. Help me, Lord! Forgive me for all my sins. I know there’s power in the blood of Jesus to wash away all of my sins. Come on in, Jesus! Come into my heart!
If you meant that prayer, He has come; He is yours.
If you need a miracle or healing, Jesus today is still the healing Lamb of God, our Lamb. In Egypt the Hebrews had a type of Him, a type so mighty that not a feeble one was among those millions who left with Moses. All were healed of all their diseases and afflictions. Think how much greater the real Jesus is than the type! We don’t have to use a type; we have the real thing, the healing Christ. With His blood stripes, we are healed. If you or someone you love needs healing, let me pray with you now: Lord, I bring the sick and afflicted to you. I bring the heart patients, those with diabetes, those with cancer or any other diseases. I bring the little deformed babies, the crippled ones to you, Lord. I bring them all in the name of Jesus. In the name of Jesus it comes, from your gift of miracles, your gifts of healing: Heal! Heal! in the name of Jesus. Heal! in the mighty name of Jesus.
The healing virtue is flowing, going into your body, or in the body of the one you have prayed for, if you have accepted it. Treat that power right and watch yourself or your little ones get well.
Hold on to Jesus through prayers, fastings and living in His Word. Don’t miss Heaven; don’t miss the second appearance. Don’t be on Earth when Jesus comes the third time. Through Jesus Christ, you can escape; He’s the door. Even so, come quickly, Lord Jesus!
