For he remembered that they were but flesh; a wind that passeth away, and cometh not again (Psalm 78:39). The Lord here is talking about Israel, Israel so loved by God and so despised by others. Again and again God cradled the Israelites in His arms, doing wondrous things for them, miracles. They accepted His love and His gifts, His help. He gave them everything and only wanted one thing in return: their love. God gave so much…and asked for very little. Their love for Him would have brought the faithfulness He craved. God wanted the Israelites to love Him more than they loved anything or anyone else. He instructed them to love the Lord thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might (Deuteronomy 6:5). Love the Lord with all of you, with every part of you. Did the Israelites do it? No. They spit in the eye of God, turned and went their own way.

Not a Feeble Person among Their Tribes

God looked upon the Israelites when they were slaves in Egypt, clothed in rags and tatters, treated worse than animals. They were sick, afflicted, run down physically, lacking proper food and rest; and God sent a deliverer. From the slime pits of Egypt, the Israelites were brought as royalty by God. For their sakes, God spoiled the Egyptians—took the best garments, the finest jewels—God laid the wealth of Egypt at their feet. This is from your God, He cried with love. The Israelites left Egypt a well and wealthy people. He brought them forth also with silver and gold: and there was not one feeble person among their tribes (Psalm 105:37). The Lord brought two or three million people out of Egypt and not one was feeble among them. God told them that if they would keep His statutes, His commandments, He would keep them in good health.

Marvelous were the promises God gave them. He not only healed them when they left Egypt, He even promised to keep sickness away from their door, a covenant of healing, of blessings in abundance. He told them that none of the sicknesses, none of the plagues of the Egyptians would ever come upon them so long as they were obedient. I will take sickness away from the midst of thee, the Lord told them (Exodus 23:25). If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of the Lord thy God, and wilt do that which is right in his sight, and wilt give ear to his commandments, and keep all his statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians: for I am the Lord that healeth thee (Exodus 15:26). Did God have the ability to keep this covenant? He proved it with one great stroke of love when He healed them all just before they left Egypt. Many were sick, blind, afflicted. Josephus the historian said that some had worn their fingers down to stubs working in the slime pits. Think what God did for those poor people who had nothing! But even when He lifted them out of the mud, when He established their goings, they still loved the ways of Egypt. It’s amazing how the devil can deceive people!

Fickle-Minded Treasures

After the Israelites had been so miraculously freed from bondage, they talked longingly about going back to the land of their slavery. God had separated the waters of the Red Sea for them. Did they appreciate it? Not for long.

He established a testimony in Jacob, and appointed a law in Israel, which he commanded our fathers, that they should make them known to their children: That the generation to come might know them, even the children which should be born; who should arise and declare them to their children: That they might set their hope in God, and not forget the works of God, but keep his commandments: And might not be as their fathers, a stubborn and rebellious generation; a generation that set not their heart aright, and whose spirit was not stedfast with God (Psalm 78:5-8). God wanted the children to be different than their fathers, but the children, too, failed God.

If we are taught anything under grace, it’s to be steadfast, unmovable, rooted and grounded in the truth of God. Under the Law the nation of Israel was unsteady, fickle; and the truth of God found no firm lodging. The children of Ephraim, being armed, and carrying bows, turned back in the day of battle. They kept not the covenant of God, and refused to walk in his law; And forgat his works, and his wonders that he had shewed them. Marvellous things did he in the sight of their fathers, in the land of Egypt, in the field of Zoan. He divided the sea, and caused them to pass through; and he made the waters to stand as an heap. In the daytime also he led them with a cloud, and all the night with a light of fire (Psalm 78:9-14). How God loved them! He kept them warm at night and cool in the daytime. He treasured them, adored them. God didn’t owe them anything; He delivered them because of His great love. They were in bondage in the first place because of their disobedience, because they had failed God; and it took God over four hundred years to get them in a condition that He could bring them out of slavery.

He clave the rocks in the wilderness, and gave them drink as out of the great depths. He brought streams also out of the rock, and caused waters to run down like rivers. And they sinned yet more against him by provoking the most High in the wilderness. And they tempted God in their heart by asking meat for their lust. Yea, they spake against God; they said, Can God furnish a table in the wilderness? Behold, he smote the rock, that the waters gushed out, and the streams overflowed; can he give bread also? can he provide flesh for his people? (Psalm 78:15-20).

Look at the hand that served the Israelites in that day and you will see the same hand that is serving us today. Are we grateful? Are we mindful? Do we walk in His love or in our own selfish love? Is our spirit stingy toward God? Do we really serve Him? As I studied the wavering Israelites, I felt sorry for God; for He performs such wonders through His love and gets so little acceptance in return.

Instead of thanking God for His miraculous care, the Israelites complained. Therefore the Lord heard this, and was wroth: so a fire was kindled against Jacob, and anger also came up against Israel; Because they believed not in God, and trusted not in his salvation (Psalm 78:21,22). They didn’t believe Him. While they were in Egypt they had worshiped other gods; now when circumstances weren’t to their liking, they found it easy to turn back to their idols.

God Opened the Kitchens of Heaven

He had commanded the clouds from above, and opened the doors of heaven, And had rained down manna upon them to eat, and had given them of the corn of heaven. Man did eat angels’ food: he sent them meat to the full (Psalm 78:23-25). Think of that! God opened up the kitchens of Heaven to feed those people; in the midst of the wilderness they ate the food of angels. Such love! God may never have planned to open up Heaven’s kitchen to anyone on planet Earth, but He was going to shelter those people. They were richly blessed and didn’t know it.

You are blessed of God today, whether you know it or not. If you’re prone to grumble, if your spirit wants to complain, stop and read all of Psalm 78 with full awareness that as greatly as God loved and moved for Israel, even greater love was shown when He gave His whole heart to us and He sent Jesus.

Jesus said, Your fathers did eat manna in the wilderness, and are dead. This is the bread which cometh down from heaven, that a man may eat thereof, and not die. I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever: and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world (John 6:49-51). I thought of God opening up His whole house, not just His kitchen, when He sent His beloved Son; in return people sought every way to kill that glorious gift, that treasure beyond price!

Manna, a table in the wilderness, was wonderful; but a greater invitation from Jesus is yours: Come and dine (John 21:12). Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me (Revelation 3:20). Behold, I stand at the door daily to dine with you, Children, Jesus is saying. Not just for sinners but for my children, too, I am knocking.

Jesus, the Son of God, has come—who would be too busy to take time with Him? Who would fail Him? Who would daily close their ears to His gentle love-knock? Run to the door, throw it open wide and welcome Jesus in. I am so glad you are here Jesus! So glad you love and care for me! How wonderful that you would share your life with me!

How much do you love Him today? How much does He mean to you? In deed and in truth, how much does He really mean to you?

Breathtaking Deliverance

When I read how God clothed the Israelites, gave them the wealth of Egypt, I realize again how great His love was for them. The Lord made it possible for them to clean up, throw off their dirty rags and dress in finery, to worship and honor Him. His love was so wonderful! Then when I think of Jesus coming with His garments of righteousness, of Jesus giving His own blood so that we could be washed white as snow, cleansing us from the foul stench of sin in our spirits and souls for all time and eternity, it takes my breath away. The Lord spoiled the Egyptians to dress the Israelites, and He did more: He sacrificed His own Son who lay down His life to dress us, clothe us in the righteousness of God.

The Lord gave much to the Israelites, but take another look at the grace dispensation we live in, a dispensation much greater, far above that in which the Lord served the Israelites under the Law. Yet we are disappointed that they failed God. They should have believed Him for the land of Canaan—but how many today believe in His land of Heaven? Even children of God can lose sight of the wonderful reality of God’s plan for them. Had they not, they wouldn’t act as they do.

How excited the Israelites could have been had they entered the Promised Land in a matter of days after crossing the Red Sea! Nothing stopped them from claiming all of God’s promises except themselves.

They Heard the Voice of God

God had given the Law with a mighty demonstration of His power. He had spoken in an audible voice, and the ground trembled, the mountains shook, the lightning ran upon the ground, the thunder roared. There were thunders and lightnings, and a thick cloud upon the mount, and the voice of the trumpet exceeding loud; so that all the people that was in the camp trembled…and Mount Sinai was altogether on a smoke, because the Lord descended upon it in fire: and the smoke thereof ascended as the smoke of a furnace, and the whole mount quaked greatly (Exodus 19:16,18). What a time it was when the Law was given! The Lord talked with them face to face in the mount out of the midst of the fire (Deuteronomy 5:4). The voice of God was heard by not just one, but by all. Nothing is more blessed than to hear the voice of the Lord. Trumpets sounded; angels were there, thousands and thousands of angelic beings; but even greater than the voice of God for man that day was the Law. The Law could lead them into the favor of God. The Law could keep them walking with God—but they didn’t want His commandments.

God remembered the Israelites were just dust, flesh. God remembered; and He would turn again to reach out for them, saying, I love you, Children. I’ll do anything for you. But when they persisted in their disobedience and blasphemy, God sent judgment—at times killing them by the numbers. Then they would remember that He was God, and again for a little while they would bow to the God who made them. At last the day came when they turned away once too often, and they were scattered among all nations.

Dominion of Sin Destroyed

Are you established in the truth of God? What kind of journey is yours? What kind of courage and love? God remembered that men were but dust, flesh. He remembered they didn’t have a Calvary or an Upper Room, and He gave a plan of redemption to free man from all sin. For sin shall not have dominion over you (Romans 6:14). Sin would no longer have dominion. God was saying, I will give man and woman power over all sin so they can live free from it. There will be no yoke of bondage upon them. I will lift it. I will break it. I will set the captives free. Through the blood of my Son they will be delivered. God sent Jesus to be our salvation. Jesus in whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace (Ephesians 1:7).

Think of the Israelites’ Day of Atonement when that weak flesh came into the presence of God for cleansing, deliverance—one day out of the year, one day. Suddenly everyone’s sins were gone. What a day of rejoicing! How long did that Day of Atonement last?—twenty-four hours. But God made a Day of Atonement for you and me that is to last for all time and eternity. Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in ONCE into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us (Hebrews 9:12). You don’t have to offer blood from one tiny lamb, not one. Jesus offered His blood in Heaven before the Throne of God, the altar of God, sinless blood for you.

What the Blood Did for Me

I walked free that night in my teens when I received salvation, and I determined in my heart to never be in bondage again. What would have put me back into bondage?—committing sin. But if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness (I John 1:9). I confessed my sins and left them all behind, washed away by the blood of Jesus. I knew I could live free from sin the rest of my days. I knew when that cleansing power went through me and washed away every sin that I could live free. He washed me and I was clean. The blood of Jesus…cleanseth us from all sin (I John 1:7). There was absolutely no condemnation in my heart before my God. I could have stood before God and felt not one bit of condemnation—that’s what Jesus did for me. There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus (Romans 8:1).

I was a fit subject for God’s heavenly Kingdom for all eternity that night my sins were washed away. I was a brand new person; I wasn’t the same. Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new (II Corinthians 5:17). I didn’t think the way I used to think; I didn’t act the same or feel as I once did.

I walked out of God’s house that night knowing I had victory over every sin. I knew Jesus was with me, that I never had to go back into sin. For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones (Ephesians 5:30). How could someone who was bone of His bones and flesh of His flesh commit sin? Impossible. How could one walk, even as he walked (I John 2:6) and still have sin in that life? It couldn’t be. I read in Jude 24 that the Lord is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy. I didn’t listen to anyone who preached a person couldn’t live free from sin. It was against the Word of God, and I didn’t want to hear it. I knew better even when I was a youngster living in sin.

God Calls You to Holiness

God calls you to His holiness day and night. He has nothing else to call you to but holiness, righteousness. Nothing unclean associates with Him, nothing unclean in His house. We are subjects of His while here on Earth. He looks upon us who are pure and clean, and He is building mansions for us in Heaven. That’s how sure He is of the power in the blood and the Holy Ghost to keep His obedient children out of sin. He knows the flesh is weak; but He knows the power in the blood, and He knows His own who have applied that power to their hearts and souls. What can wash away my sins? Nothing but the blood of Jesus. What can make me whole again? Nothing but the blood of Jesus.

We are going home on the blood of the Lamb. We will be rewarded for our works, but we’re going home through the blood. It’s the blood that will take us through to Heaven, nothing less and nothing else.

If you have the blood applied to your heart, you have gone through that narrow gate that leads to salvation and onto the path to glory. Without shedding of blood is no remission (Hebrews 9:22). But there is another gate that sin can enter; it’s wide, wide, and the path on the other side of that gate leads straight to damnation.

Sin Separates You from God

If a preacher is committing even one sin, he should get out of the pulpit. The church is God’s holy place—or should be. I have never walked into God’s pulpit with one sin in my heart. Pure, clean, holy my heart has remained since I was born new so many years ago. I found the real Jesus, the Christ of God, divine help from Heaven.

You don’t have to be a preacher to be separated from all sin. Salvation is for everyone. Why on earth would Jesus have died on the Cross to save us from our sins if we couldn’t live free from sin? But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear (Isaiah 59:2). Sin separates you from your God; if you are separated from Him by sin you are not saved. It’s Christ living within you when you are saved that keeps you free from sin, His Atonement on the Cross for you. But if you willfully sin, Christ can no longer live in you; you have backslidden, separated yourself from God.

God never wanted mankind to be separated from Him by sin or to live in this jungle outside Eden within reach of Satan’s destruction-directed power. He hadn’t intended for men to be in this environment when He created them. He didn’t plan it that way, but He remembered they were but flesh, weak. He makes it possible for every man, woman, boy and girl to become strong enough to not yield to the flesh. He cries, I will furnish them power, so much power that it won’t make any difference to them about the flesh. Flesh will not yield because I will give victory to the inner person, and that one will not have to bow to the flesh or the devil.

How proudly we should wear His garments of righteousness! Proudly we must keep them as pure and clean as when they were delivered to us. His crowning love of holiness rests upon and lingers around the children of God.

Fire from the Altar of God

Under the wings of the Almighty we should be rejoicing. Never grumbling, never complaining, be on front line duty always, saying, “Here am I, oh Lord, use me!” Isaiah the prophet experienced that great spiritual fire from On High when one of the seraphims carried a live coal from the altar of God, pressed it to Isaiah’s lips, taking away his iniquity and purging his sin. Then Isaiah heard the voice of the Lord asking, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Isaiah’s answer was unhesitating: Here am I; send me (Isaiah 6:8). An angel with a coal of fire from the altar of God in Heaven came and pressed it to human lips, and a life was changed.

But I know something greater than that. I learned it when I climbed to the Upper Room. Jesus told us about it: Children, He said, I’m going to do something more for you. Something more than salvation? What could it be? And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you (John 14:16,17).

At Pentecost God again manifested Himself in a great way. The Comforter that Jesus told about had come. There was a sound of rushing, mighty wind, great action of the Spirit. Tongues of fire appeared unto them. What a sight it must have been for those in the Upper Room! Those tongues of fire burst into many pieces and fell upon lips of clay, and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance (Acts 2:4). The tongues of fire, the rushing, mighty wind were awesome; but the paramount thing was the giving of the Holy Ghost. At Sinai the giving of the Law showed man a standard of holiness, but under grace the giving of the Holy Ghost brought the power to live holy. Thank God for the Holy Ghost!

Not a coal of fire from the altar of God but the Holy Ghost Himself came in and took over these lips of clay and baptized me in the Holy Ghost, in the fire of the Spirit. Not just my lips, not just my tongue, the whole me was baptized in that fire of the Holy Spirit of Almighty God; and the Third Person in the Trinity of the Godhead began living and dwelling on the inside of me, taking up His abode. He is a greater comfort to me, a greater direction to me than man could ever begin to be. The Holy Ghost is my hope, my strength and my courage.

The Holy Ghost has taken over this tongue and lips of clay at different times and spoken such love and peace to my heart that I marveled. I listened to Him speak, knowing He was using my lips, my tongue, my vocal organs—divinity using all of me and speaking in fluent languages. On and on He would change to different tongues, dialects…speaking, singing. The Holy Spirit thrills me and strengthens me beyond words. I feel the impact of Him for days and days after such manifestations.

I marvel that a human tongue can be washed so clean and pure that the Holy Ghost from Heaven comes in, takes over that tongue and uses it as He pleases. The Holy Ghost only uses human tongues that are clean, pure, holy, sanctified through the blood of Jesus.

Never Will He Forsake Us

He has never left me these many years. I have been in some dreadful valleys, but He stayed with me. Those times I couldn’t sleep the night through, He never left me. In time of sorrow and despair the Lord remained with me, drying my tears, giving me comfort when no one else could. He lifted me up, breathed upon me and strengthened me. Knowing I was but flesh, He shed abroad God’s love in my heart, love that gave me courage to go on.

He remembers we are but flesh, and He ministers to us carefully every day. The Holy Ghost abides within all believers who have accepted the baptism in the Holy Ghost and have yielded to all of Him.

The Lord remembers we are but flesh, and in our discouraging moments He lifts us up. He remembers we are but flesh when we’re fighting the powers of darkness, when the demons have surrounded us. So patiently He strengthens and helps us, more patiently than a tender mother with her precious baby. God doesn’t give up the fight; He doesn’t abandon us in battle. He is with us night and day. Jesus said, Lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world (Matthew 28:20).

No Alibi for Sin

The God of the universe on His throne remembers, and we need never use the excuse of weak flesh again. Many have pointed to weak flesh as their alibi for sin. Some say everyone has to sin a little; after all, we’re just human. No, I say again, that isn’t the way God feels about it.

Isn’t it great, Child of God, that you don’t have to bow to the desires of the flesh? If that desire is against the will of God, you don’t have to bow; you have the power to say no. The Holy Ghost supplies that power—but you must use it. All the seventeen works of the flesh listed by God in Galatians 5:19,20—Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like—you can have victory over. If you don’t have the Spirit of God, those works—some or all—will latch onto you, no matter who you are. Anyone without the Spirit of God displays some of those works. But through Jesus you possess a power, a grace, a deliverance so great that you will never have to give in to the flesh again when the flesh is going against the will of God.

Weak flesh is brought into a state of holiness and righteousness before God through your yielding to the power of God and the Christ that dwells within you. You can live in a blessed state that the Lord smiles upon, approves of; and that body of flesh will become the temple of the Holy Ghost.

God remembered we were but flesh, and He gave us these marvelous provisions of salvation and the Holy Ghost baptism. He remembered flesh was dirt, dust; and yet I marvel that He chose a house of clay to be the temple of the Holy Ghost, the Third Person in the Trinity of the Godhead—how marvelous!

Do you accept what God through His Word has said to you? This is something you must decide. God has told you what He wants His children to be, but do you want it too? Do you want what God wants?

Citizenship Papers in Heaven

Walk in His righteous path, and you won’t be forever apologizing to Him for something. Walk with Him, please Him; and the favor, the love of God and the joy of the Lord will be yours daily. Walk with Him, Child of God, knowing that you are a part of that house of God. You are a joint-heir with the Son of God, Jesus Christ; you belong to Him. The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God: And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ (Romans 8:16,17). Even now you have citizenship papers in Heaven, already a citizen of Heaven—if you have been born new. Your name written in the Book of Life means you are a part of the family of God. Doesn’t this thrill your heart? You are a part of Heaven just as though you were already living there.

God Shall Supply All Your Need

Everything you need will be supplied for you in Heaven, and everything you need on Earth is supplied now when you look to God in faith, nothing doubting. But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:19). The treasures of God are yours. That’s the reason the Holy Ghost wants to produce the nine fruits of the Spirit in each life: Love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance (Galatians 5:22,23). There is no need for anyone to come up lacking joy, peace or any of these marvelous fruits of the Spirit that the Spirit seeks to produce in each life. Don’t try to produce the fruits yourself, the Holy Ghost is the producer as you yield to Him. There is a joy from Heaven that will lift you above the disappointments of earth as you allow the power of the Holy Ghost to control self.

Why yield entirely to people for your help when you know they are limited, they are but flesh? You can have your needs supplied through divine love; why depend upon human love alone? When human love fails, you can be bitterly disappointed. Human love never seems to be enough. It isn’t enough. How sad the Lord must feel when you need love and yet reject His boundless love. Patiently the Lord works with you to let you know He will help. That which man cannot and will not do for you, God is patiently waiting to help you with day and night. He remembers that you are but flesh. No matter who you are, no matter how long you have been on planet Earth, no matter how much education or how much money you have, God remembers you are but flesh; and He has promised to supply the needs of His obedient ones.

He Healeth the Broken in Heart

The Lord knew we were but dust; and He knew the hardships, the battles we would face. He knew what it would mean for death to take a loved one, and so He sent the Holy Ghost to be our Comforter. When you love someone better than life, no one can really help you in that hour when death comes. The hurt on the inside is so deeply embedded that no human being is able to touch it or ease its agony. The only One who can help you truly, one hundred percent, is the Holy Spirit Himself. Only the Holy Spirit. He’s our helper: The Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered (Romans 8:26). He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds (Psalm 147:3). Oh love Him, love Him for being with you in all your valleys as well as on the mountain tops. What would you do without Him? Precious Holy Spirit…He is never going to leave you who remain clean.

And Then the End Shall Come

When the Rapture takes place we who are alive in Jesus will be changed by the Holy Ghost and taken up with Jesus. Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed (I Corinthians 15:51,52). The mission of the Holy Ghost is to get the Bride of Christ ready. For the Bride to be ready, she must first evangelize the whole world: And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come (Matthew 24:14). For the Bride to be ready she must finish this, her crowning work of evangelism for the Lord.

God will never leave you, never forsake you. If the death angel should come for you before the Rapture takes place, the Lord remembers you are but flesh; and He will be there to help you make the crossing. He knows you are no match for death; that is why He sent Jesus to conquer death for you when He rose from the tomb. Jesus said…I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live (John 11:25). He remembers you are but flesh. In your dying hour when you will need help that no human hand can give, He will be there. You will not have to cross over Jordan alone. You can cry as Angel my wife cried, “Oh, Jesus is here! Don’t you see Him? Let down the bridge, Jesus, so I can go across. Let down the bridge!” Three times Angel cried for the bridge to be let down. God remembered that the girl called Angel who loved Him so dearly was just flesh. And He let down the bridge for Angel. Joyfully she crossed over.

How wonderful you are, precious Lamb of God! How we love and adore you!

Let the faithfulness of God rise up within you. What a sweet, sweet fragrance to go up before the Throne of God! Your love is a pleasure to Him, a delight. He is delighting in many of His children in this final hour. He is trusting you, trusting into your hands the mighty harvest that is so close to His heart. It’s a great trust on the part of God. We dare not fail. We dare not disappoint our Lord. We dare do nothing less than look to Him daily. Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh (Matthew 25:13).

Pluck Them as Brands from the Fire

Tell His story over and over again, reaching up and pulling Heaven down on everyone you can. Help God in every way possible. When you become impatient with others, remember they are but flesh. When you are prone to be angry with your brothers and sisters in Christ, when the enemy wants you to criticize…have pity and love, remembering they are but flesh. Let the love God has for you, His tenderness and understanding burn in your heart and make up for all the hurt that comes your way.

Reaping the harvest won’t be easy in this final hour, but the Lord will be with His children at all times. Darkness is closing in on the human race. God remembers we are but flesh and is moved by our compassion for the lost. As we reach out in love and faith, He reaches out in love and faith to deliver, to set the captives free. He remembers they are but flesh, and wherever He hears a faint cry from a sincere human being for deliverance He will give it.

We have been headed for this hour of the final harvest since the day we were born. Again and again God seeks to strengthen us in His presence in this last and final hour. He is eager to pour His overcoming power through us to the flesh of the earth, to pluck them as brands from the fire.

Because God knows what men and women are made of, He provided a Calvary, a Pentecost; and He made all of Heaven available to the children of God in this hour so we can be pure and holy before God as we help reap the great harvest of souls. Let these words burn within your spirit: For He remembered that they were but flesh.

Oh heavenly Father, we’re so glad that you remember we are but flesh and that you help us! Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever (Matthew 6:13). We will praise you, dear Lord, now and forever as the endless ages roll because you remembered that we are but flesh; and you furnished us with everything needed in this last and final hour.
