They Waded Out
by Ernest Angley
October 2010
The Old Testament is full of types and shadows of living realities to come, and the following passage is one of my favorites. Ezekiel was one of the great prophets of God, and his writings take us right through to the end of this civilization. Here he writes about a mighty, divine type and shadow that you must understand. And when the man that had the line in his hand went forth eastward, he measured a thousand cubits, and he brought me through the waters; the waters were to the ankles. Again he measured a thousand, and brought me through the waters; the waters were to the knees. Again he measured a thousand, and brought me through; the waters were to the loins. Afterward he measured a thousand; and it was a river that I could not pass over: for the waters were risen, waters to swim in, a river that could not be passed over (Ezekiel 47:3-5).
When the angel first took Ezekiel into the water, it was just ankle deep; that represents salvation. Some people get saved and never go beyond that because they think they have received all that Heaven affords. Then the angel led him into water that was to his knees; that represents sanctification. But Ezekiel didn’t stop there; he went on into water that was waist deep; and that represents dedication and consecration, giving all to the Lord. Then Ezekiel was ready for the infilling of the Holy Spirit. He went into waters deep enough to swim in, and he was baptized with fire from On High. With the Holy Spirit within, he was ready to work for the Lord; and that’s what made him such a great prophet. Dedicated people must wade out into the fullness of the Spirit.
Just as some people stop after getting saved, others stop after receiving the Holy Ghost; but you can’t do that. After receiving the Holy Ghost, you have to let Him move and have His way. He comes to work on the inside of you, and your body becomes His temple. Know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own (I Corinthians 6:19)? The Holy Ghost is the One who will help us bring in the harvest.
Noah Waded Out
In the Old Testament, all those whom God was able to bless and use in a great way had waded into the deep. Study Noah and his family—they left loved ones and friends behind and went out into waters to swim in. That’s what it took to keep them moving as they built the ark. It took them 120 years, a lot of strength, a lot of peace and a lot of joy; but they never stopped. And God said unto Noah, The end of all flesh is come before me; for the earth is filled with violence through them; and, behold, I will destroy them with the earth. Make thee an ark of gopher wood; rooms shalt thou make in the ark, and shalt pitch it within and without with pitch. And, behold, I, even I, do bring a flood of waters upon the earth, to destroy all flesh, wherein is the breath of life, from under heaven; and every thing that is in the earth shall die. But with thee will I establish my covenant; and thou shalt come into the ark, thou, and thy sons, and thy wife, and thy sons’ wives with thee. And of every living thing of all flesh, two of every sort shalt thou bring into the ark, to keep them alive with thee; they shall be male and female. Thus did Noah; according to all that God commanded him, so did he (Genesis 6:13,14,17-19,22).
Noah and his family had to wade way out from the shore; that’s the only way they could separate from the world. They had to put everything on the line, or they would have been lost in the flood; but those eight souls were saved because of their obedience.
Souls are so valuable to the Lord that when Jesus was here, He said that one soul was worth more than all the wealth of the world. For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul (Matthew 16:26)? Jesus went to Calvary and died for each individual, and salvation is a one-on-one proposition. You don’t have to have anyone else with you when you want to get saved, and we will all go through Heaven’s gate in single file. Don’t let anyone hinder or discourage you.
Abraham’s Unwavering Faith
Abraham waded so far out that he was able to claim unbelievable promises that God had made to him. God told Abraham He would give him a son; and although he had to wait 25 years for that son, he never gave up. And being not weak in faith, he [Abraham] considered not his own body now dead, when he was about an hundred years old, neither yet the deadness of Sarah’s womb: He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God; And being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform (Romans 4:19-21).
It took a miracle for his wife, Sarah, to get pregnant at her age and have a baby; but when God says something, it happens. God said, For I am the LORD: I will speak, and the word that I shall speak shall come to pass (Ezekiel 12:25). I depend on that scripture.
After Isaac was born, Abraham’s faith was tried again when the Lord told him to offer his son as a burnt offering unto Him. Surely, Abraham didn’t tell Sarah about God’s request because she didn’t have the unusual, divine faith that Abraham had. And it came to pass after these things, that God did tempt Abraham, and said unto him, Abraham: and he said, Behold, here I am. And he said, Take now thy son, thine only son Isaac, whom thou lovest, and get thee into the land of Moriah; and offer him there for a burnt offering upon one of the mountains which I will tell thee of. And Abraham rose up early in the morning, and saddled his ass, and took two of his young men with him, and Isaac his son, and clave the wood for the burnt offering, and rose up, and went unto the place of which God had told him (Genesis 22:1-3).
Trust and Obey
Isaac was about 12 years old, and he followed after his dad, not knowing what was about to happen. And Abraham took the wood of the burnt offering, and laid it upon Isaac his son; and he took the fire in his hand, and a knife; and they went both of them together. And Isaac spake unto Abraham his father, and said, My father: and he said, Here am I, my son. And he said, Behold the fire and the wood: but where is the lamb for a burnt offering? And Abraham said, My son, God will provide (Genesis 22:6-8).
Abraham continued to obey the Lord; so he bound Isaac, put him on the altar and drew back his knife. Then an angel cried out more than once for him to stop. And they came to the place which God had told him of; and Abraham built an altar there, and laid the wood in order, and bound Isaac his son, and laid him on the altar upon the wood. And Abraham stretched forth his hand, and took the knife to slay his son. And the angel of the LORD called unto him out of heaven, and said, Abraham, Abraham: and he said, Here am I. And he said, Lay not thine hand upon the lad, neither do thou any thing unto him: for now I know that thou fearest God, seeing thou hast not withheld thy son, thine only son from me (Genesis 22:9-12).
Divine Faith Prevailed
The Bible says that Abraham knew God had promised to raise up nations through his seed; and he knew that if he sacrificed Isaac on the altar, God would have to raise him up because God does not lie.
Isaac didn’t know that he was going to be the sacrifice; but he was a type of Jesus going to Golgotha carrying the Cross, and Abraham was a type of God. The difference here was that Abraham’s son would be saved from being the sacrifice, but the Son of God would not. Jesus had to die for you and me. And they took Jesus, and led him away. And he bearing his cross went forth into a place called the place of a skull, which is called in the Hebrew Golgotha: Where they crucified him (John 19:16-18).
Nevertheless, Abraham had waded out. He had left everything behind and put self on the altar, and the Bible tells us that Abraham absolutely did sacrifice Isaac in his spirit. By faith Abraham, when he was tried, offered up Isaac; and he that had received the promises offered up his only begotten son, Of whom it was said, That in Isaac shall thy seed be called: Accounting that God was able to raise him up, even from the dead; from whence also he received him in a figure (Hebrews 11:17-19).
You Must Use Divine Faith
Faith has to be tested and tried. So when you wonder why something is happening to you, just know that God is testing your faith. If it’s divine faith, it will stand the test. Jesus called human faith “little faith,” and it won’t hold you up in times of storm. Jesus said to the disciples more times than one, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt (Matthew 14:31)? You can’t walk the waters with that “little faith,” but you can with divine faith.
Jesus said, I have not found so great faith [divine faith], no, not in Israel (Luke 7:9). That’s the kind of faith the Lord tells us we should contend for through prayers, fastings, dedications and consecrations. Ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints (Jude 1:3).
I’m delighted to know that we can have the same great faith that men of God had in Old Testament days. They lived before Calvary, and yet they waded out and sacrificed all to use divine faith in great and mighty ways. Now that we live after Calvary, there should be no reason for us to fail God in anything. We must wade right out into the deepness of God—into the depths of His love, His grace and His divine faith. Wade out into divine goodness, divine mercy, divine forgiveness, divine hope, divine assurance and divine determination. We can’t let anything stop us.
Faith Brings Miracles
At times, people who were not even of the household of faith used divine faith; and Jesus marveled at them, especially when some of His own disciples didn’t always use divine faith. The Syrophenician woman was not of the household of faith; yet when her daughter was grievously vexed with devils, she went to Jesus for a miracle. When she found Him, Jesus told her that healing was the children’s bread; and she humbled herself and said, Truth, Lord: yet the dogs eat of the crumbs which fall from their masters’ table. Then Jesus answered and said unto her, O woman, great is thy faith: be it unto thee even as thou wilt. And her daughter was made whole from that very hour (Matthew 15:27,28). The Lord admired her great faith, and He stepped forth and told her that her daughter was delivered. When she returned home, she found that the devils had indeed gone out of her daughter.
Wade Out Deeper
Fasting takes you into a place where God can use you in great ways to help cast out devils or to help miracles take place. Jesus told the disciples, This kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting (Matthew 17:21). This ministry could never be what it is today without much fasting, and many of those fasts go as long as 40 days. But I never refuse anything that God calls on me for.
Jesus gave everything, and He’s my example; so why shouldn’t I give everything in return? I don’t look at people; I look at Jesus, and I let the Holy Ghost guide me in His footsteps. If I don’t know what to do in a certain situation, I stop and ask myself, “What would Jesus do?” The Holy Spirit helps me to find the answer at once, and then that’s what I do—and it always works. If you’ll do the same thing, you can have the same results.
Some people have been saved for years, but they’re still only in ankle-deep water. You can’t swim in water that shallow; but look out farther, and you’ll see divine rivers rolling forth. The Lord told the disciples that when the Holy Ghost came, He would flow living water into their innermost beings. He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water. (But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.) (John 7:38,39). These are divine waters of love, grace, joy, peace, faith, goodness, gentleness, kindness, tenderness and all the greatness of Heaven. Some people get sanctified and satisfied, and they won’t go on to receive the fullness of the Spirit.
Use Power from On High
Don’t stop where you are; wade on out. You must be determined to keep moving and to never stop. Go on to receive the Holy Ghost. Then contend for the faith that was once delivered to the saints and seek the nine fruits of the Spirit. We must have all that God offers so we can serve the whole Jesus to the inhabitants of the Earth. I want divinity to flow through me like mighty rivers so I’ll be an instrument of the Holy Ghost, a holy temple delivered and set free from all sin.
Jeremiah said that God’s power was like fire shut up in his bones. But his word was in mine heart as a burning fire shut up in my bones (Jeremiah 20:9). Isaiah also gave us a description of being set aflame. Then flew one of the seraphims unto me, having a live coal in his hand, which he had taken with the tongs from off the altar: And he laid it upon my mouth (Isaiah 6:6,7). God has many ways of helping us wade out deeper into perfect obedience, perfect yielding and perfect sacrificing unto Him. Realize that you’re not your own; you’re all His. For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s (I Corinthians 6:20).
Divine Blood Brings Freedom
The Lord wants us to have the same freedom in our walk here on Earth as we’ll have when we get to Heaven. Many people don’t realize this, but it’s a teaching from the Word of God. If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed (John 8:36). When you have Jesus, His blood gives you freedom right now, not later—freedom to serve God in the beauty of holiness.
Jesus bought you with His own blood, and you no longer belong to the devil. Jesus is your Savior, and God in Heaven is your Father. Jesus Himself taught the disciples this when He prayed, Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name (Matthew 6:9). Jesus came to make us sons and daughters of God through divine blood. But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons [or daughters] of God, even to them that believe on his name (John 1:12).
There’s nothing like the divine blood of Jesus; but it isn’t preached, taught or sung about much anymore in churches today. I once heard that a large Christian denomination had recalled their hymnals and removed all the songs that contained the word “blood,” but, I guess it didn’t really matter because they didn’t use the blood anyway. Why sing about something that you don’t think you need, something you don’t use or don’t even believe in? Some people think that joining a church and being baptized in water are all they need; but that’s just fig-leaf religion, and they’re not wading out into the river of life. That divine river is flowing in Heaven today, and it will flow down to you through Calvary.
Be Happy in the Lord
Jesus connected us with Heaven, and all its blessings belong to us. That’s why true children of God are so alive. The good Holy Ghost bubbles on the inside of them, and they’re working to take the Gospel to the whole world! God can make you so happy that at times you don’t know what to do. Some people call it fanaticism, but that’s because they don’t know what real happiness is. They may think they have to get something out of a jug to make them happy; but they should get it out of the Bible, words straight from Heaven. The Bible tells us to rejoice evermore (I Thessalonians 5:16). This is a time to rejoice and be happy in the Lord!
Joseph Went into the Deep
Joseph had to wade way out. His brothers had sold him into slavery, and Jacob thought for years that a wild animal had devoured his blessed son. And they took Joseph’s coat, and killed a kid of the goats, and dipped the coat in the blood; And they sent the coat of many colours, and they brought it to their father; and said, This have we found: know now whether it be thy son’s coat or no. And he knew it, and said, It is my son’s coat; an evil beast hath devoured him; Joseph is without doubt rent in pieces. And Jacob rent his clothes, and put sackcloth upon his loins, and mourned for his son many days (Genesis 37:31-34).
Jacob really loved Joseph; so when his younger brother Benjamin was born, Jacob was determined never to let him out of his sight. However, during the great famine, he couldn’t get any more corn for his family unless he gave up Benjamin. His sons had gone to Egypt seeking help, not knowing that Joseph had become a great ruler there; and they didn’t recognize him when he declared, Ye shall not see my face, except your brother be with you (Genesis 43:3).
A Divine Plan
Jacob finally had no other choice but to send Benjamin to Egypt with his brothers; and when they had arrived, Joseph told his servant, Fill the men’s sacks with food, as much as they can carry, and put every man’s money in his sack’s mouth. And put my cup, the silver cup, in the sack’s mouth of the youngest, and his corn money. And he did according to the word that Joseph had spoken. As soon as the morning was light, the men were sent away, they and their asses. And when they were gone out of the city, and not yet far off, Joseph said unto his steward, Up, follow after the men; and when thou dost overtake them, say unto them, Wherefore have ye rewarded evil for good? Is not this it in which my lord drinketh, and whereby indeed he divineth? ye have done evil in so doing. And he overtook them, and he spake unto them these same words (Genesis 44:1-6).
Joseph allowed them to get out of the city, and then he sent soldiers after them to accuse them of stealing. But the brothers said, Wherefore saith my lord these words? God forbid that thy servants should do according to this thing: Behold, the money, which we found in our sacks’ mouths, we brought again unto thee out of the land of Canaan: how then should we steal out of thy lord’s house silver or gold? With whomsoever of thy servants it be found, both let him die, and we also will be my lord’s bondmen. And he said, Now also let it be according unto your words: he with whom it is found shall be my servant; and ye shall be blameless. Then they speedily took down every man his sack to the ground, and opened every man his sack. And he searched, and began at the eldest, and left at the youngest: and the cup was found in Benjamin’s sack. Then they rent their clothes, and laded every man his ass, and returned to the city (Genesis 44:7-13).
The brothers were certain that they hadn’t taken anything; but when the cup was found in Benjamin’s sack, they all went back to Egypt pleading for his release. They knew Jacob would be devastated if Benjamin didn’t return with them. It shall come to pass, when he seeth that the lad is not with us, that he will die: and thy servants shall bring down the gray hairs of thy servant our father with sorrow to the grave (Genesis 44:31).
God’s Plan Revealed
Joseph had not yet revealed himself to his brothers; he was testing their love. But then he said, Come near to me, I pray you. And they [his brothers] came near. And he said, I am Joseph your brother, whom ye sold into Egypt. Now therefore be not grieved, nor angry with yourselves, that ye sold me hither: for God did send me before you to preserve life. For these two years hath the famine been in the land: and yet there are five years, in the which there shall neither be earing nor harvest. And God sent me before you to preserve you a posterity in the earth, and to save your lives by a great deliverance. So now it was not you that sent me hither, but God: and he hath made me a father to Pharaoh, and lord of all his house, and a ruler throughout all the land of Egypt. Haste ye, and go up to my father, and say unto him, Thus saith thy son Joseph, God hath made me lord of all Egypt: come down unto me, tarry not (Genesis 45:4-9).
Think how Jacob’s heart must have leaped within him when he found out that Joseph was alive. And they went up out of Egypt, and came into the land of Canaan unto Jacob their father, And told him, saying, Joseph is yet alive, and he is governor over all the land of Egypt. And Jacob’s heart fainted, for he believed them not. And they told him all the words of Joseph, which he had said unto them: and when he saw the wagons which Joseph had sent to carry him, the spirit of Jacob their father revived: And Israel said, It is enough; Joseph my son is yet alive: I will go and see him before I die (Genesis 45:25-28).
What a wonderful reunion that must have been for both Joseph and his father. And Joseph made ready his chariot, and went up to meet Israel his father, to Goshen, and presented himself unto him; and he fell on his neck, and wept on his neck a good while (Genesis 46:29).
You Must Give Up Benjamin
Many people today have their own Benjamin, and they won’t give it up. Are you holding onto a Benjamin, something that’s hindering you? If so, you won’t wade out like you should. Are you going all the way with the Lord, or is something holding you back? It may be your companion, a son or a daughter; but if you’ll give up Benjamin, you’ll get more corn from Heaven. If you don’t give it up, you won’t receive anything else from God because your Benjamin is your first love rather than Jesus.
Jacob held onto Benjamin until the corn was nearly gone because he would rather have died than let his son go. But that’s what you need to do; you need to die. Jacob had to finally die out to self and put his trust in God; and when he did, he found that Joseph was alive!
Joseph Kept Going Deeper
Joseph had to go through much persecution during the years that he was separated from his family, but he never went back to shore or blamed God. One time, Potiphar’s wife tried to get Joseph to go to bed with her; but when she grabbed his coat, he ran out naked. Joseph was a goodly person, and well favoured. And it came to pass after these things, that his master’s wife cast her eyes upon Joseph; and she said, Lie with me. But he refused…[Then one day] Joseph went into the house to do his business; and there was none of the men of the house there within. And she caught him by his garment, saying, Lie with me: and he left his garment in her hand, and fled, and got him out…when she saw that he had left his garment in her hand, and was fled forth…she called unto the men of her house, and spake unto them, saying, See, he hath brought in an Hebrew unto us to mock us; he came in unto me to lie with me, and I cried with a loud voice: And it came to pass, when he heard that I lifted up my voice and cried, that he left his garment with me, and fled, and got him out. And she laid up his garment by her, until his lord came home (Genesis 39:6-8,11-16).
This woman had grabbed Joseph’s garment and then lied and said that he had tried to rape her. Joseph had to suffer in prison for many years because of her lie, but God had a plan for him.
Later, the Lord gave Joseph the interpretation of Pharaoh’s dream about the coming famine, and Joseph found such favor with him that Pharaoh made him second in command over all the land of Egypt. God gave Joseph the knowledge and wisdom needed to save his family and all of Egypt from the famine. And Joseph nourished his father, and his brethren, and all his father’s household, with bread, according to their families. And there was no bread in all the land; for the famine was very sore, so that the land of Egypt and all the land of Canaan fainted by reason of the famine. And Joseph gathered up all the money that was found in the land of Egypt, and in the land of Canaan, for the corn which they bought: and Joseph brought the money into Pharaoh’s house (Genesis 47:12-14).
Moses Didn’t Let Israel Stop Him
Consider how far Moses waded out. It took the burning bush, the pillar of fire and many miracles before God could do all He needed to do through Moses; but Moses kept going deeper. He tried to get the Israelites to wade out with him, but most of them were too busy grumbling and complaining on the shore about what they didn’t have.
At times, they even accused Moses of bringing them out of Egypt to die. And when Pharaoh drew nigh, the children of Israel lifted up their eyes, and, behold, the Egyptians marched after them; and they were sore afraid: and the children of Israel cried out unto the LORD. And they said unto Moses, Because there were no graves in Egypt, hast thou taken us away to die in the wilderness? wherefore hast thou dealt thus with us, to carry us forth out of Egypt (Exodus 14:10,11)? But God hadn’t brought them out to die, and He did have a land for them; He even drove seven nations out of that land just for them. And when he had destroyed seven nations in the land of Chanaan, he divided their land to them by lot (Acts 13:19).
God will do anything for those who will wade out and be His people. You may appear peculiar in the eyes of the world; but just keep going deeper and deeper into the love, power, wisdom and knowledge of God. Now therefore, if ye will obey my voice indeed, and keep my covenant, then ye shall be a peculiar treasure unto me above all people (Exodus 19:5).
More Saints Launched into the Deep
Study Queen Esther. She waded so far out into the deep that she was able to save her entire nation. Her people were going to be destroyed, but she put her life on the line and went in before the king without being summoned to plead for them. Then Esther bade them return Mordecai this answer, Go, gather together all the Jews that are present in Shushan, and fast ye for me, and neither eat nor drink three days, night or day: I also and my maidens will fast likewise; and so will I go in unto the king, which is not according to the law: and if I perish, I perish (Esther 4:15,16). The Lord did give Esther great favor, but she had to wade out in prayer and fasting to make it possible; and she won the victory.
Elijah waded out again and again, and God took him to Heaven alive. And it came to pass, as they still went on, and talked, that, behold, there appeared a chariot of fire, and horses of fire, and parted them both asunder; and Elijah went up by a whirlwind into heaven. And Elisha saw it, and he cried, My father, my father, the chariot of Israel, and the horsemen thereof. And he saw him no more (II Kings 2:11,12).
Elisha watched this great event take place; but knowing ahead of time that it was coming, he had asked Elijah for his mantle of power when he was gone. Elijah said unto Elisha, Ask what I shall do for thee, before I be taken away from thee. And Elisha said, I pray thee, let a double portion of thy spirit be upon me (II Kings 2:9). Elijah answered, Thou hast asked a hard thing: nevertheless, if thou see me when I am taken from thee, it shall be so unto thee; but if not, it shall not be so (II Kings 2:10).
Elisha did see Elijah go to Heaven, and he did receive the mantle. Then he used it to wade out even deeper. He took up also the mantle of Elijah that fell from him, and went back, and stood by the bank of Jordan; And he took the mantle of Elijah that fell from him, and smote the waters, and said, Where is the LORD God of Elijah? and when he also had smitten the waters, they parted hither and thither: and Elisha went over (II Kings 2:13,14).
Elisha really received a great anointing from the Lord because even after he had died, the body of a man thrown on top of Elisha’s bones came to life. And it came to pass, as they were burying a man, that, behold, they spied a band of men; and they cast the man into the sepulchre of Elisha: and when the man was let down, and touched the bones of Elisha, he revived, and stood up on his feet (II Kings 13:21). Elisha’s bones carried God’s resurrection power, and we can have that same resurrection power today.
Keep Your Eyes on Jesus
The Early Church endured much, and it was something to behold! They had to wade out beyond anything we’ve ever seen. And others had trial of cruel mockings and scourgings, yea, moreover of bonds and imprisonment: They were stoned, they were sawn asunder, were tempted, were slain with the sword: they wandered about in sheepskins and goatskins; being destitute, afflicted, tormented; (Of whom the world was not worthy:) they wandered in deserts, and in mountains, and in dens and caves of the earth. And these all, having obtained a good report through faith, received not the promise: God having provided some better thing for us, that they without us should not be made perfect (Hebrews 11:36-40).
If you continue to wade out into the deep for the Lord, you’ll become a real Jesus overcomer; and nothing will be able to stop you or weigh you down. Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God (Hebrews 12:2).
The Apostle Paul waded way out, and Demas followed him. But Demas apparently only waded out a short way because he turned back, and Paul wrote, Demas hath forsaken me, having loved this present world (II Timothy 4:10). What a disappointment that must have been to Paul. When Demas died, he no doubt went to hell; and that’s sad when he could have had a heavenly home.
Unfortunately, I’ve seen many people like that—they had it all and then backslid on God. They crawled back to the tree of death that grows on the bank of lust, destruction and sin; and they died without hope and without God. They’re screaming in hell today, and they’ll never find deliverance. But thank God there is a real Heaven to go to where there’s no sickness or death, only peace, joy and contentment. Wade on out, and you can live there for eternity and never die.
Get Ready to Swim
The only way we’ll be ready for what is to come is to wade out into the deep, into the waters to swim in. The Bible tells us that this river would flow into a sea of life. Then said he unto me, These waters issue out toward the east country, and go down into the desert, and go into the sea: which being brought forth into the sea, the waters shall be healed. And it shall come to pass, that every thing that liveth, which moveth, whithersoever the rivers shall come, shall live (Ezekiel 47:8,9). The waters of the sea were made so pure that everything in them had life. This river is now running into seas all over the world and filling them up with the glory of God. We can have eternal life in these waters.
Child of God, aren’t you glad that you left the banks of sin, degradation and lust and waded out into waters to swim in? Some of you may have belonged to a dead church with a dead preacher in the pulpit and dead people in the pews…and you were spiritually dead, too, and didn’t know it. But thank God you woke up. The Spirit got hold of you, and you decided that you wanted to find life—and you found it.
You began by wading out into ankle-deep water and soon realized that it was cooling your feet. You launched out farther and felt even better. The devil and those you had left behind may have accused you of going into fanaticism; but you were happy in the Lord, and you didn’t listen to them. You continued on; and the deeper the water got, the more you shouted and praised God.
At last, the Holy Ghost came in and took you over, and you found yourself in waters to swim in. What a shout went up from your soul! You didn’t care what anybody else thought or said because you were too busy enjoying what the Spirit was saying. He was teaching you, leading you, guiding you and instructing you. He was anointing you with power from On High.
Go Deep with the Lord
Now that you’ve gone deep into God’s love and mounted up high into His favor, all is well. You’re walking without spot or wrinkle. That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish (Ephesians 5:27). Jesus says to each member of the bridal company, Thou art all fair, my love; there is no spot in thee (Song of Solomon 4:7). The angels in Heaven will admire us for all eternity.
Although we’re now out in the deep, we haven’t yet found the full depth and height of His grace or the entire width of His love, peace and joy; but He is providing much to supply all that we need. But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:19).
As long as you keep the faith, you’ll be in waters to swim in. You’ll be walking hand-in-hand with Jesus, wearing His shoes, and you’ll have His mind. For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ (I Corinthians 2:16).
You Can Be Free
If you’re not yet wading out, why don’t you step off the bank? You may be dying with AIDS or some other deadly disease, and you may soon be in eternity. Why would you want to die and go to hell for eternity when there’s a river of life just waiting for you? Once you’re in it, you can wade out deeper and deeper until you’re baptized in the Holy Spirit, the fire of God from On High. Then you’ll really be living, and you will be able to say with the Apostle Paul, I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me (Galatians 2:20). Paul also said, I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith (II Timothy 4:6,7).
Don’t stay on the bank any longer because no one will be able to rescue you once you’re in eternity. Heed this call from Heaven right now and come home. Wade out into the river of life, and say this prayer with me: Oh, God, I’m lost and full of sin; but I have come home. I’ve heard about your love for me. I’ve heard the story of how you carried that old Cross and died for me, and I’m giving my life to you. I believe there’s power in your blood to wash away all of my sins. Come into my heart, Jesus! Come on in! If you meant that prayer, you can say, Hallelujah! My sins are all gone! I’m free; thank God Almighty, I’m free!
Wade Out into Your Miracle
Now, you can be healed. Jesus healed sinners when He was here, but He told them to go and sin no more, lest a worse thing come unto thee (John 5:14). Just look to the Lord as I pray, and you can be healed.
Lord, I bring those with HIV/AIDS, cancer, diabetes, heart trouble, lung trouble, leprosy and strokes to you. I bring also little, deformed babies; and you’ve already made so many well through this Jesus ministry. Heal! in the blood-name of Jesus. Your divine blood destroys all diseases and brings life to the body.
God’s healing power is now flowing. Feel it going through you like a bolt of electricity and know you’re being healed by the power that’s in the blood-name of Jesus! Let me know what happened to you today, and I will rejoice with you. If I never meet you here on this Earth, I want to meet you on the shores of sweet deliverance.
God is real, and He is our keeper. The Lord is our high tower, and He’ll lift you up in this hour just as a daddy puts his son or daughter on his shoulders to see above the crowd. The Lord has done that for me so many times, and surely He has or will do it for you. Through Christ, I can see a great harvest of millions; and we need them to build the Kingdom of Jesus. Then I see Rapture ground, and it won’t be long before we’ll be going home.
I have given you the great message of Jesus that He preached when He was on Earth. Be ye therefore ready also: for the Son of man cometh at an hour when ye think not (Luke 12:40). The glorious morn is about to come, and the one flight out is about to take place. Be ready, and I’ll see you in the Rapture!
