What do I mean by the way into God?—the way into His greatness, into His gifts—something more than salvation and the baptism in the Spirit—the way into the fruits of the Spirit, the way into all the promises of God fulfilled. Many have not found this way into God, or if they found it, were not willing to pay the price to retain it. To go the way of God, one must pay a price. Jesus came to earth, took on human flesh and became the Son of man. Very God…and yet related to the human race, Jesus walked the road into God to show man the way, making paths for our feet. His way is not an easy one, but rewarding, the only way into the greatness of God.

I Corinthians 2:9,10 talks about the greatness of God that is revealed to us. But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit. Notice, this scripture says that God has revealed by His Spirit many things. For the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God. Without God’s holy presence, without God’s holy power, without God’s Holy Spirit you will never understand God and His work on planet Earth. His Holy Spirit is here to guide us into the deep things of God. God wants so much for us to understand Him that He gave His plan in book form to study, to read over again and again.

For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God (verse 11). As humans we understand human nature; but when the enemy gets into the spirits of men and women, human nature becomes complicated and difficult to understand. God’s nature; however, never changes, and the Holy Spirit is the One to reveal that nature to us, the deep things of God. Many have been mired down in fanaticism by trying to understand the things of God without the Spirit of God working, working in their minds and hearts.

Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God (verse 12). Many are unaware of what God has made available to His people. That is why some watching me on television praying for the sick cannot imagine that God performs such miracles, that miracles are actually taking place. Those, however, who have experienced miracles know they are real; they have lived with the miracles of God. The Spirit of God is given freely that we might know what God has made available to us.

Which things also we speak, not in the words which man’s wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual (verse 13). The Spirit of God holds the key to finding the way into God. We enter through the Spirit of God, the Holy Spirit. The physical, the natural man, cannot lead you into the things of God.

The Way of Salvation

Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God (John 3:3). To come into the things of God, to comprehend salvation you must take on the spiritual mind. Salvation cannot be grasped by the flesh mind alone; it’s an experience of the soul. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved (Romans 10:13). When salvation comes to you, you accept it to the point you know you are free from all sin, different. You deny self; all your sins are put under the blood of Jesus—forgiven—and you are granted God’s power to live holy, godly and righteously in this present world. You are a new creation: Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new (II Corinthians 5:17). You are new; the old has passed away. The new you does not lie, curse, take God’s name in vain. The new you loves the Lord God with all the heart, mind and soul. The Lord is by your side, and you are by His side. He will never leave you.

Why give up in despair? Jesus came to give you understanding; yield your mind to it so Satan can never deceive you. Know that although your walk will not be easy, the Lord will be with you. You can be free and stay free from all sin, for after you become born again you are no longer under the dominion of sin. Romans 6:14 tells us, For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace. Sin does not have the rule over you who have been born again as long as you remain saved. Through the power of God, the sin-bondage has been broken in your life. If, however, you willfully reach out for sin again, you will lose your salvation.

It’s just as simple to live free from sin as it is to breathe when you come into the knowledge of the truth, into the closeness of God, the things of God, and are directed by the Holy Ghost Himself. Jesus dwells on the inside of all who are yielded to Him. Would He stay if you contaminated your spirit, if you willfully sinned against Him? Would the Holy Spirit remain in an unclean temple? No. The temple must be clean, free from sin. If the temple has but one sin, it is not clean. Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are (I Corinthians 3:16,17).

The devil has deceived people about sin. If he cannot convince them it’s impossible to live free from sin, he tells them they can sin and still be right with God. They can’t. The soul that sinneth, it shall die (Ezekiel 18:4). Receiving salvation means you leave all sin behind. When I came to the Lord, when I realized I could live a week without sin, I knew I could live a whole month free from sin, then a year and more, a lifetime witness to the saving grace and keeping power of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

If it is your will to walk with God, if you really want that close communion with Him, you stop sinning. Sin and righteousness do not mix.

The Way of the Holy Spirit

And these signs shall follow them that believe…they shall speak with new tongues (Mark 16:17). Salvation is just the beginning of the path into God. Your soul has been born again; but your mind must be taught, and the Holy Ghost is the Teacher. Go on to be baptized in the Holy Spirit as the disciples were on the Day of Pentecost. And when the day of Pentecost was fully come…they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance (Acts 2:1,4). Jesus told the disciples this about the Holy Spirit: But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you (John 14:26).

Our day is not like it was in the Garden of Eden where man was created with the knowledge of the way into God. You must learn how to let the Holy Spirit bring the promises of God into reality in your life. Before you came to God you were in the habit of giving over to the flesh and over to the devil, being controlled by self and the devil, doing what self wanted. Now, since you have come to God, you don’t understand how to give your mind as well as your soul over to God, to the Holy Spirit. He will not force Himself in—like the devil tries to do. The devil doesn’t care how damaging his tactics are as long as they work.

The Way of Choice

And if it seem evil unto you to serve the Lord, choose you this day whom ye will serve (Joshua 24:15). When it comes to the way into God, the door is opened by your will: willingly you yield, willingly you give, willingly you want, willingly you act, willingly you sacrifice. If your will does not choose God, then you have made your soul a welcome location for the devil’s playground.

God does not force you to serve Him or to seek the way into His greatness; He warns of the destruction of the flesh. He calls to you, reminding you of His judgments, of the punishments of evil; but He doesn’t force you to live for Him. He has the ability to paralyze flesh so you would be unable to walk its path. He has the power to control your mind so you cannot think wrong thoughts, but that is not His plan. He lets you choose.

God made man in perfection, created man to walk by His side to glorify and honor Him. He wanted man to walk with Him because man loved Him, and not because man was forced to. For man to freely choose the way of God—the righteousness, the holiness, the purity, the truth, the fellowship of God—was God’s desire. Omitted from man’s make-up was rebellion; God never intended man to be rebellious. Satan was the one who forced rebellion into the heart, made it look justified in the eyes. Man could yield to Satan because God had given man free choice.

By the time Noah came onto the scene, every imagination of the thoughts of…[man’s] heart was only evil continually (Genesis 6:5). Man, a shell with no spiritual substance, chose evil until God destroyed all but eight souls in the great flood. God destroyed evil men, but not evil; and as time passed, sin raged once again in the hearts of men. God knew the only remaining solution was His Son Jesus.

The Way of Jesus

The words that I speak unto you, Jesus said, I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works (John 14:10). Carefully God worked to bring us back into the place we could have direct fellowship with Him through Jesus, and at last this was made possible.

Jesus called to some fishermen one day: Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men (Matthew 4:19). Come, He said, I will do it. I will help you. He wanted to show them the way into God, but first they had to be taught how to stay their minds on the Lord, how to have His peace.

When Jesus began teaching them God’s way it was a foreign language to them. They could not understand it nor hold to it. That’s the reason they turned aside when Jesus was crucified. For a little they walked with Him—until the going became rough.

Jesus came to direct a world of twisted minds and lives to the way into God. Because people walked all kinds of paths but the right one, Jesus had to establish their goings. The Lord established the Psalmist’s, described in Psalm 40:2,3: The Lord set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings. And he hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God: many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the Lord.

Those believing on Jesus receive salvation, they learn how to give the soul over to God; but most stop short with that, failing to take the way into the greatness of God. Even those baptized in the Holy Spirit can refuse to give Him right of way in their lives; consequently, He is unable to lead them on into the greatness of God. They are satisfied existing on the fringes of God’s promises. So many of God’s people live miserable, insecure lives, knowing only part-time that God really cares, walking close to Him once in a while, thinking it is impossible for anyone to keep in step.

They are wrong.

Jesus came and made the steps of a human to give us awareness, through the power of the Holy Ghost, of the path into unity with God and of the right to walk with Him each moment of the day. He came to show us the way into the greatness of His Father.

The Lord wants you to love Him soul, mind and body; for then your mind is stayed on Him, and He can give you peace. Many in the world rely upon the human spirit to serve love and contentment, but the human spirit does not have that capability. In fact, depending upon the human spirit opens the door for the devil to enter the mind. To be secure in the Lord is to bypass the human spirit and give your mind directly over to Him; this is the way of Jesus.

How does one give the mind over to God? It seems hard, and yet the process is simple: Keep your mind stayed on the Lord. Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee (Isaiah 26:3). Jesus said, Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid (John 14:27). And in Romans 8:6 we learn, To be spiritually minded is life and peace. Begin to discipline the mind to reach for the things of God that edify and bless.

The Way of Discipline

If ye know these things, happy are ye if ye do them (John 13:17). Those fortunate people reared by a godly family who cared deeply for them knew their parents had vision of what they desired the children to be. Their foremost goal was not high positions in the world; they wanted their children to be clean, pure, morally upright, of sterling character. How did they work toward that aim? By seeking to keep minds clean. They did not use profanity in the children’s presence or tell dirty stories. They kept pouring into little minds that which was pure. By discipline and example they trained their children to respect the good, the wholesome, whatever would bless and build them up spiritually. Dangers that would contaminate, they pointed out and warned against. If the children disobeyed, they found those dangers did contaminate. That loving mother and father were there to give godly discipline. As long as the children yielded to their discipline, they got along fine. It kept them from the places they should not have been in, stayed their feet on the paths they needed to travel. But if the children rebelled against that discipline, it created trouble, tears, heartaches, despair. The heavenly Father seeks in much the same way to mold you as you yield to the discipline of the Holy Spirit.

The mind is extremely important; and yet people do not consider that the mind can embrace thoughts rejecting the discipline of the Holy Spirit, thoughts that lead to the damnation of the soul. What have you been feeding your mind today? What did you look at, what did you read, how much of the Word of God did you put into your mind? To what was your mind exposed?

The mind serves the soul; the mind serves the body. It has everything to do with you—and easily the enemy can enter the mind. Although he cannot possess the souls of you who are born-again Christians (for your souls are sealed by the holy blood of Jesus), the devil can torment your minds, robbing you of God’s peace and joy. If he can’t disturb you over one thing, he’ll try something else until he succeeds in grinding you down—if he can. That one thing, that weak point, he brings to you again and again. You can have victory over it—unless you have no idea how to discipline the mind.

Discipline the mind by studying your text—the Word of God—under the direction of your Teacher—the Holy Spirit. When the Holy Spirit comes into a life and takes over as Teacher, He gives discipline, shows the right paths; but you must heed His teachings and discipline before He can help you (just as the obedient child heeds the teachings of that godly Mother and Dad), and strong character is molded. If a student succeeded in school, he listened and worked for that good instructor. This should tell you that if you can be taught by man, you can be schooled by the Holy Spirit and shown the way into the greatness of God. Give your mind over so He can teach you the way into Him.

Too many have never understood what it meant to be schooled by the Holy Spirit, to be disciplined by Him. The Holy Spirit is a person, your Guide. You have Him when you’ve been born again and baptized in His Spirit. Greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world (I John 4:4). The Holy Spirit is there to help you discipline your mind.

The Way of the Battleground

In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world (John 16:33). Are you continually battling? The battleground is the mind in this last and final hour. It’s war: the flesh and the devil against the anointed mind. The flesh is weak, loving the world and the things of the world; and that love makes the flesh very vulnerable. The flesh wars against the Spirit of God on the inside of you who is saying, “Not so. This isn’t the way into God.” Just as the Christian mother and dad spoke out against that which was harmful, the Holy Spirit is raising up the standard for God in your heart. Look for that standard. Place God’s will above all else, knowing that yielding to the flesh closes you off from that still, small voice of God leading you into Him.

Problems arise when you do not know how to shut out the unpleasant, ungodly. You think you are helpless in the face of mind battles, that there isn’t anything you can do about them. It’s a deadly smoke screen the devil uses to keep you in bondage. He delights in convincing you that you have no power over your mind. Yet if you really want to think about something, you can center your mind on it. Weakness comes through wrong believing, through failure to claim what is available from God. You have been misinformed about your mind control, handicapped by not knowing how to give your spirit over to God. I repeat, you learn how to give yourself over to the Spirit of God the way a child learns to give himself over to the good discipline of parents or teacher.

What gets people into trouble in the first place?—the readiness of self to abandon the mind to the devil. When Mother turned her back, you could entertain thoughts of Lucifer in an instant and become embroiled in mischief. Self was on the throne and the devil loved it. He delighted in keeping you in hot water. He wanted to use you, to get you to say and do things that were outrageous, to stir up trouble through you—and you let him do it all. But now that you have become a child of God, it’s time to let the Holy Spirit help you break that pattern of mind bondage, for it’s a pattern that blocks your way into God.

Now in this final hour we must not fail; we must come into this place with God where our minds are not continual battlefields as self and the devil seek to wage war with God. Decide that the devil will no longer worry you, trouble your mind. Through the Word of God, find who and what you are and where your place is in the Lord. Take that place in Him, accept the whole armor of God, shed off the cloak of depression and oppression. Claim the liberty, gladness and joy of heart in the Holy Ghost that He holds out to you. How can you do that?—by putting all of self on the altar, burying self completely, crucifying self until you can cry with the Apostle Paul, I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me (Galatians 2:20). It will not be your spirit of self that lives but His Holy Spirit which lives through you. He is doing the living. He furnishes the life. What life, what joy, what contentment, is found in Him!

You can permit the devil to make you so restless it’s impossible for you to enjoy life at all. You have the choice of letting the Lord serve you goodness and mercy daily, or you can allow the devil and the human spirit to serve you despair until you are so hopeless and restless that peace is out of the question. Many of God’s people are not at peace with self and God, not fulfilled, lacking so much because they neglect to draw from the wells of God’s salvation. Not taking the trouble or spending the time to seek God and claim all He offers, they simply are uninterested in finding the way into God.

We live in a restless hour of dissatisfaction, an hour of battle-weary minds. Never has there been a time of so many unhappy people on earth as right now, and there will be much, much more unhappiness. The only true happiness is through God; and you’ll only find that by yielding to His Spirit, His grace and love. To be yielded to Him and to give your mind over to Him will enable you to think on that which is good, wonderful and wholesome.

What do you feed your mind? Overlooking the things of God, not taking them into your very heart and soul can bring much despair and tormenting mental battles. Some of you feed your mind on the troubles around you, problems of family, community, nation or whatever. Jesus didn’t feed on those things, and Jesus is your example of the way into God.

The Powerful Way of Bible Prayer

Man ought always to pray, and not to faint (Luke 18:1). Prayer is a vital way into God. The Bible tells you how to trust in the power of prayer, real Bible prayer. First, know that He hears your prayers. For the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and his ears are open unto their prayers (I Peter 3:12). And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear (Isaiah 65:24). Trust in the Lord that He not only hears you but that He will answer your prayer. Commit thy way unto the Lord; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass (Psalm 37:5). God gave you faith to find the way into Him: God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith (Romans 12:3). And how to keep that faith alive in your heart is the instuction we read in Romans 10:17: Faith cometh by hearing…the word of God. God is faithful to His children: There hath not failed one word of all his good promise (I Kings 8:56).

Let the power that comes through prayer have its great right of way to do its wonderful work in your life.

The Way of Self-Denial

Cleanse thou me from secret faults (Psalm 19:12). Self is bondage. In order to let the Holy Spirit have control, you must deny what self wants; it cannot have what God does not ordain for you. Jesus Himself said in Luke 9:23, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.

Study His Holy Word daily. It is simple to dwell on the unpleasant—even that which is of the devil—because the spirit of man, the spirit of self desire things exciting to the flesh. The cry from the God/man Jesus was and is, “Deny self!” But the cry today is build up self, put self on the throne. Self creates havoc in finding the way into God because self does not want to study His Word. You cannot walk with God in self. To walk with God, self must be put down so that Christ can live through you. For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God (Romans 8:6-8). If you willingly yield your mind to evil, it’s death; you are in sin. But if something wrong comes to your mind that you didn’t will to come, and if you don’t let the thought drop into your soul, it is not death. This is the difference between the mind battles of the Christian and committing sin, between temptation and yielding to temptation.

The Way of the Keeping Power

We can be kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation (I Peter 1:5). Before I was saved at eighteen, living free from sin seemed to me to be bondage. My idea of life was sowing wild oats. I thought I could gain respect from people by overpowering them, by letting that temper fly. Wouldn’t that prove I was tougher? Actually it didn’t prove anything except how foolish and unsaved I was. Then when I received salvation, I was astonished at the freedom and the keeping power which came upon me. The Keeper of my soul—Jesus—moved in, and I stopped fighting. I didn’t box any more ears or try to get even. I loved everyone, even my enemies. Some people whom I had avoided in the past, I made a point to speak to. They gave me a double-take, but I had a chance to say, “You know, I’ve found Jesus. I’m a new me.” They believed it!

I wanted to be alone with the Lord. I wanted to listen in on Heaven. I could hardly wait to get to the prayer room, for there was so much to learn in a new world. I knew God’s keeping power could preserve me, and I opened my arms to it. It was strange yet wonderful to be in His presence. I wasn’t accustomed to God talking to me. Mother, Daddy, the Sunday School teachers had talked to me about God, the preachers had talked to me about God, but now God was talking to me with no one in between. I was giving my mind over to Him, listening. With my steps yielded to God, He was calling me to preach. “Why, Lord, I can’t preach,” I told Him, “but I will.” I couldn’t think of one sermon, not one, to give the people. He was going to give me the sermons. I found my way into God by yielding completely to Him, surrendering all to His keeping power. I told Him I would go anywhere He wanted me to go. I would do whatever He wanted. My mind was made up. Centering my thoughts upon Him, I went into a channel that led straight to the Throne of God; and I lived on the things that came from God for my soul. When the Lord began to preach through me, I would go into the glory of the Lord, losing sight of the people as the Spirit of the Lord flowed through me. God’s keeping power was a wonder to me.

The Way of God’s Gifts

For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge…to another faith…to another the gifts of healing…to another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another the discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues (I Corinthians 12:8-10). The gifts of God were beyond me when I first began preaching; they were so heavenly, so divine that I never dreamed God would ever use His gifts through my life. Then in the early days of my preaching, I was in church and heard the Holy Spirit begin to speak through a person. To my amazement, although the words were in another language, I knew exactly what was being said. It was so new to me; I didn’t dare open my mouth to give the interpretation. Suddenly someone close to me began to interpret the message in English—but this person gave only half of it and then became quiet. When the interpretation stopped short I knew that I had not imagined what I heard. I knew that I was right, and I gave the rest of the interpretation. That was the beginning of the gift of interpretation in my life, but it would be a long time before the Holy Spirit messages of God poured through me or that I had understanding of message after message when the Holy Ghost would speak.

The gifts began operating in my life so that I, as a minister of the Gospel, could help people find the way into God. I had to learn what Bible fasting signified: casting down self, keeping self under subjection, crucified until there was no ego. I learned what Jesus meant when He said, This kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting (Matthew 17:21). A Bible fast requires dedication, consecration, giving of self unto God, yielding, denying the body food, casting self down and feasting on God.

Bible fasting opens the way into God. Eating the spiritual food of fasting, I would stay in His presence, yielded to Him. I wanted Him more than I wanted food. On those long fasts I would draw closer and closer to God. I walked on into Him and His will, whatever He wanted. I ate the Word; I studied the Lord and His works.

Even when I was away in theological school, so many, many times I would be behind closed doors, shut in with the Lord. I was there on a divine mission. The Lord had sent me to school. He told me I was to go, that I had to have the ability to meet all kinds of people: the educated, the uneducated, the rich, the poor.

God had gifted me with preaching; I didn’t learn it in school. The Lord was giving me discipline, training and preparing me to use the gifts the way He wanted. Knowing I was in God’s will, I sought to give my mind over to Him. I recognized that I must have Him in all of His greatness to help others find the way into Him. Everything the Lord showed me, I took straight to the Word of God. The Word was my safety. The Lord would not have told about the nine gifts of the Spirit nor given the nine gifts of the Spirit to the Church were they not to be used, I reasoned. Then the Lord took me in His reasoning to Simon, to the discipline that Simon needed. How worldly Simon had been, how self-centered at one time. He denied the Lord Jesus. But he changed after Pentecost, and God began to work through him with His gifts. He had found the way into the greatness of the Lord.

The Lord brought Paul before me again and again. Paul, once so far away from God—murder in his heart, hating the Christians—underwent a drastic change, yielding to God. And God gave His gifts to him.

Again for me it was more fasting, Bible fasting. So many will not fast a Bible fast, not give time to God in their fasting. They fast; but there is no spiritual change, no putting down of self. It is not a Bible fast. When you fast a Bible fast you give time to the Spirit of God, carefully feeding your spirit with the Word of the Living God. Take all the time in the presence of God you can. Of course you perform your duties; but all the unnecessary things you lay aside, spending time with God, yielding to Him, humbling yourself in His presence until your mind is taken over by the Holy Spirit and you see as He sees, hear as He hears, feel as He feels.

No one was more shocked than I when God led me into His truths concerning the nine gifts of the Spirit. The gifts of healing began to operate: the blind received their sight, the deaf heard and the crippled walked. I had been with Jesus; I had stayed away with Him until He could pour Himself through me to the people…and then the gift of discerning began to work. The Lord would take over my mind, my eyes. The only way I know how to describe this is by saying that I would see what God saw. I looked into the souls of people and saw the demons that bound them, the diseases, the illnesses, the darkness—or the light—in the soul. The angel of God would come to me, stand by my side; and I actually heard what was being said as I ministered to the people. I’ve never gotten over the wonder of it! In a miracle service I give my mind so completely to God that He can use it as though it were His very own as He reveals and He helps people. I’m just His instrument.

I must yield to Him so that He can use me. I have had to stay away from people much to be with the Lord. My life must be so dedicated, consecrated and yielded to Him that I can show others the way into God. I learned how to give my mind over to God, but it took a long time.

How do I know when God is dealing with me? His Spirit is so obviously different than the spirit of man that it’s unmistakable. Take time for the Lord to teach you your own spirit, what it consists of, its make-up, what it will and will not do. Then take time to learn what the spirit of the devil is like; and above all, learn the Spirit of God. If you cannot tell the difference between the spirit of man, the spirit of the devil and the Spirit of God, how can you separate them? It takes much, much time in learning.

As the gifts of God began to come into my life, I would live in His very presence. I paid no heed to those who said I could not live free from sin, but I took God at His Word and left sin behind. Emptying my heart and mind so I could be lifted with His greatness, I learned to center my thoughts upon Him, to tune many things out of my mind with the Spirit of God and listen to the things of God. I learned that I had power over the enemy to center my thoughts upon the Word.

The devil will try to steal your thoughts. It must not be. Center your thoughts upon the Lord. Stay until the anointing of the Word takes over and your mind is anointed so that you have understanding.

As you yield to God, marvelous peace comes to mind. The things the human spirit declares cannot be done are done. It’s the way into God. Which things also we speak, not in the words which man’s wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual (I Corinthians 2:13). We are to be taught by Him, by the Holy Spirit, directed by Him. But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned (I Corinthians 2:14). Without the Holy Spirit one cannot have spiritual discernment. The Holy Spirit is the discerner. I yielded to the Holy Spirit. I saw and beheld the greatness of God as I did what God said, as I walked on with God in fastings, prayers and dedications.

The Way of One Mind, One Accord

Finally, be ye all of one mind, having compassion one of another, love as brethren, be pitiful, be courteous (I Peter 3:8). The Early Church was yielded: the greatness of the pouring-out of God’s power flooded down as long as they remained in one mind and one accord. How can God’s people come into one mind and one accord? First, I say again, they must put self down, dethrone self and take on the mind of Jesus. Now the God of patience and consolation grant you to be likeminded one toward another according to Christ Jesus: That ye may with one mind and one mouth glorify God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ (Romans 15:5,6). In Philippians 2:5 we read, Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus. In this final hour we must be in one mind and one accord through Jesus Christ and find the way into God.

Empty your mind of the things that have been troubling you, the things that take you away from God, that hinder you from living right in His presence. The way into God is the new and living way; the natural man does not understand it; the natural man is against it. Only through the Spirit is it discerned and learned and understood, this taking on of the mind of Christ. Only through the Spirit, the Holy Spirit, can you understand what I am talking about.

If you do not know the way into God, you need to yield to the Holy Spirit in prayers and fastings and living in the Word of God until the Lord can give you understanding. The Lord wants to walk with you, and He wants you to walk with Him. There are souls to be won; we must win the multitudes for the Lord, carry the gifts of God to the nations so they can see and behold the greatness of God.

The Way Is Simple but Not Easy

Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path (Psalm 119:105). Yield your mind as well as your soul to the Lord so the Lord can reveal Himself to you in a greater way than ever before, and use you in a greater way. The way into God isn’t really that hard, that complicated. Don’t make it difficult. Remember, prayer, fasting and living in the Word of God are the three great steps into God.

You can have the greatness of God in your life, you can have the might of His presence, but you must be willing to obey Him in all things. I had to surrender all to Him, and it still is all for Jesus. I’ve never counted the cost nor even asked the price to please Him. It matters not. The cry of my heart is, “Lord, I will pay it no matter what. You will never call on me to do anything, Lord, that I cannot do because you will give me the anointing to do it.” The cry of my heart is, “Take the whole world but give me Jesus!”

It’s going to take the signs and wonders of God to reveal Jesus Christ to the nations. I’ve been there and I know. Their gods are greater to them than my God—until they see my God in action, healing, delivering and saving. As the blind begin to scream, “I can see, I can see!” and the crippled are made to walk, people experience the greatness of God all around them and start to cry that Jesus is Lord. They witness the authority of Him, the power of Him, the greatness of Him.

Yield to the Holy Spirit; yield your life so totally that you come out of bed each day rejoicing in the Lord. Come out yielding self to the Holy Spirit. “Not my will, oh Lord, but thine be done.” Instead of trying to make your own roads, your own highways in self, let the Lord take you and use you in His service. “Take me, oh Lord, and make me all that you want me to be.” There is nothing in the world like being what the Lord wants you to be.

I Pray You Find the Way into God’s Greatness

And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart (Jeremiah 29:13). Do you want your mind to be free? Do you want understanding of the way into God? Put self completely on the altar of sacrifice and pray with me now: Lord, I want you to take over my mind. I’ve given you my soul; now take over my mind so you can give me your knowledge and wisdom. Open my understanding. I want that close walk with you. Oh Lord, I want to be your hands in this final hour, to be all that you want me to be, the witness you desire.

Oh, Lord, I bring this people to you in this hour of dedication and consecration so they can give their minds over to you. Many have given their souls to you; but they know not how to let you control their minds, to give them the understanding and daily knowledge and wisdom that they need so they can be the soul winners you want, and have the happiness of God that you seek to serve them.

Heal their minds today. Heal their minds in the name of Jesus Christ. Give them gladness of heart and spirit, a rejoicing spirit. Show them the way into your greatness. Reach out with your arms of love and draw them in close to you, oh God. Bring them into your greatness, into your understanding. Anoint them to fast, to understand your Word as they read and study. Anoint them to talk to you, to walk with you by choice, and to walk in all love as the first Adam and the first Eve walked in the very beginning. Let this be the beginning of the way into the greatness of God for many today, oh Lord, in Jesus’ holy name.

Move in close to Him; move into His arms of love and understanding in this final hour, and your garments will be scented with His greatness. You will carry the fragrance of your Lord to the lost and dying, helping many turn to righteousness in this final hour.

God be with you and give you peace of mind and gladness of heart as you learn the way into God in this last and final hour.
