The Touch of the Master’s Hand
by Ernest Angley
October 2019
There are no hands like the Master’s serving hands. When the shepherds looked into the manger on the night Jesus was born, they saw two little hands; but they didn’t realize the impact those hands would have. They didn’t know they were divine hands that had come to pay the ultimate price to deliver mankind from sin and sickness.
What the shepherds did know was that an angel announced His birth to them while they were on the hillside looking after their sheep, and they knew they saw and heard a heavenly choir of angels praising the Lord. Then they hurried to Bethlehem to see the newborn King, but they never dreamed what those little hands would do for them. They didn’t know those hands would one day be nailed to the Cross by wicked and devilish men who wanted to destroy them.
About two years later, the three wise men arrived to see those divine, young hands. They took that long journey because they knew they would find a Savior and King; and they had brought gifts for Him of gold, frankincense and myrrh. They didn’t understand all about God’s plan, but they recognized those little hands were different; and they knew those hands would serve great life to them in the future.
Healing Hands
If people had been what God wanted them to be, they would have cherished those hands because they were hands full of love that cured any kind of disease or affliction. A leper came to see Jesus one day even though at that time, those with leprosy were not allowed to be among people.
By law, when lepers were around people, they had to wear a bell around their neck; and they had to ring it and cry, “Leper, leper!” Then the people would run the other way. But Jesus didn’t turn away when the leper came running to Him and said, Lord, if thou wilt, thou canst make me clean. And Jesus put forth his hand, and touched him, saying, I will; be thou clean. And immediately his leprosy was cleansed (Matthew 8:2,3).
I’m sure the leper had watched Jesus from afar as He touched the eyes of those who were blind; and he heard the people cry, “I can see!” Then he decided that he could receive a miracle, too.
Jesus touched and helped people whom no one else could help. And he [Jesus] entered again into the synagogue; and there was a man there which had a withered hand. And he saith unto the man which had the withered hand, Stand forth…Stretch forth thine hand. And he stretched it out: and his hand was restored whole as the other (Mark 3:1,3,5).
If you have ever injured one of your hands, you know how hard it is to function with just one hand. Then think about how much more valuable your hands are to God. He is always looking for two more hands to do His work and to help bring in the harvest of souls. The Lord told me one day that we hold the world of lost souls in our hands, and we must not allow even one of those souls to fall into eternal damnation.
Saving Hands
A Pharisee named Nicodemus came to Jesus one night, and he received salvation through those hands. He didn’t understand salvation, but he found wisdom and knowledge in those hands; and they enlightened him. Jesus said to him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother’s womb, and be born? Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again (John 3:3-7).
God never intended for man to need salvation. The book of Genesis opens with life pulsing everywhere. The Lord spoke the moon, the stars and the sun into existence. He commanded the green grass to grow and the fowls of the air to fly, and the great I-Am was enjoying it all! Eden was Heaven on Earth.
Then God made man and woman. They were so holy, and He was so proud of them; and He warned them not to go to the tree of death. But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die (Genesis 2:17).
But Eve didn’t listen, and she ate the fruit of that tree. Then she convinced Adam to eat. They both sinned against the God who had made them, and He kicked them out of Eden. Their bodies were no longer perfect; they would have to work to survive, and they could never return to the Garden.
Today, people still can’t stay away from the tree of deceit and death. They go there thinking that nobody will find out; but God knows everything, both good and bad. Yet still, God loves sinners; and He wants them to be saved. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth (I Timothy 2:3,4).
Since Adam and Eve sinned, everyone comes into this world as a sinner. For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23). That is why Jesus came saying, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me (John 14:6).
Only through the name of Jesus can you be saved. Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved (Acts 4:12). No other hands can reach out to save people and rescue them from hell because no other hands have the divine blood spilled on Calvary that washes away all sin.
Jesus Brought Us Everything
The Master’s hands came down from Heaven to serve wisdom and knowledge, to serve miracles in abundance and to heal any kind of disease or affliction. They came to build the spiritual Kingdom and to help people out of any trial or tribulation. Jesus said, Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest (Matthew 11:28). You will find solutions to all your problems and all the wisdom, joy and glory of Heaven you need in His two hands.
You should love the Master’s hands and bow humbly before Him every day to thank Him for His hands that are reaching out to you. The Master’s hands brought divine love and divine faith. They brought determination, courage and unbelievable strength that serve others and carry their heavy loads.
Jesus had sanctified, holy hands, and you can, too. God said, Be ye holy; for I am holy (I Peter 1:16). Jesus said, Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect (Matthew 5:48). Your hands can work in perfect harmony with divinity through the Holy Spirit when you have Him living inside. He will direct you and use your hands daily to help build the Kingdom and bring in the lost. He will guide you on the paths of righteousness and show you the souls that need to be won. Your mark is on them, and you can bring them in from the paths of sin through the power of the Holy Ghost.
Jesus brought hands of hope, and we can have that same hope. Then we must go to the mission fields and give hope and light to people who have none. Jesus said, Ye are the light of the world…Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven (Matthew 5:14,16). We must let the divine light shine forth.
Know What the Lord’s Hands Can Do
The disciples watched the Master’s hands at work. They were on a boat with Jesus on the Sea of Galilee when a terrible storm blew up. And he [Jesus] was in the hinder part of the ship, asleep on a pillow: and they awake him, and say unto him, Master, carest thou not that we perish? And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm (Mark 4:38,39).
The disciples were terrified because they thought the ship was going down, but Jesus had so much peace that He was sleeping. When they woke Him up, His hands had divine peace to calm the waves of the angry sea. The disciples were amazed; and they said, What manner of man is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him (Mark 4:41)? At that time, they didn’t understand all that was in the Lord’s hands.
How many people today actually realize what is in those divine hands? If all people knew, there would be no fear, depression, murder or suicide because everyone would find all the help, hope and love they need in those hands; but so many people don’t know about Jesus. Some despise Him while others are ignorant concerning Him and have no desire to learn. Some are involved in false religions that don’t recognize Jesus to be the very Son of God, the Sacrificial Lamb, our salvation and deliverance.
Many people are troubled, yet they don’t know that the Master’s hands brought divine peace for us. Jesus said, Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid (John 14:27).
Paul knew about that peace; and he said, And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). You can have that peace all the time because you are never alone. If you are a child of God, He holds your hand; and He will lift you above the dangers of life. For he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee (Hebrews 13:5).
The devil thought he had won when Jesus was crucified; but Jesus is the one who had won redemption, healings and miracles for all mankind. He left us peace, love, joy, happiness and comfort for our aching hearts. We must put both of our hands in the Master’s hands for the rest of the journey and go forth to serve the truth to people all over the world with signs, wonders and miracles.
Miracle Hands
When the Master’s loving hands reach out to you, they will give you a miracle touch. We have seen the Lord give hearing to the deaf and sight to the blind. We have watched Him straighten fingers that were completely twisted, and we have witnessed crippled people get up out of their wheelchairs and walk. Nothing can equal the miracle hands of the Master, and trillions of dollars could never buy such hands.
Those miracle hands raised the dead. Jairus was told his daughter was dead, but that is not what Jesus said. And when he [Jesus] was come in, he saith unto them, Why make ye this ado, and weep? the damsel is not dead, but sleepeth. And they laughed him to scorn. But when he had put them all out, he taketh the father and the mother of the damsel, and them that were with him, and entereth in where the damsel was lying. And he took the damsel by the hand, and said unto her, Talitha cumi; which is, being interpreted, Damsel, I say unto thee, arise. And straightway the damsel arose, and walked; for she was of the age of twelve years. And they were astonished with a great astonishment (Mark 5:39-42).
When Jesus reached out and took that girl’s hand, life came into her; and He can do the same thing today. You can be at death’s door, but those hands can conquer the death angel and raise you up.
Some people will come into the prayer line and ask for just one thing when they can have a complete miracle. When Jesus was here, He said, Wilt thou be made whole (John 5:6)? But people act like Heaven will go bankrupt if they ask for more than one thing.
Take the Master’s Hand
Jesus’ hands brought the power it would take to conquer death, hell and the grave for us. Then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory. O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory (I Corinthians 15:54,55)?
Because Jesus lives, all people can live by holding to His hands of grace, power, healing, miracles, love, faith, hope, kindness and tenderness. If you are unsaved and have never held the Master’s hands, you have missed out on real life. You are a stranger to those holy hands, and that is so sad; but I have introduced them to you today. Won’t you reach out and take salvation from those hands right now?
Lift your hands wherever you are, or just look to Heaven and say this prayer: Oh, God, I believe in your saving hands, and I know they hold salvation and eternal life for me. I am so sorry that I sinned against those holy hands and rejected them; but with godly sorrow, I am coming home. I believe the blood of Jesus washes away all of my sins. Come into my heart, Jesus! Come on in!
If you meant that prayer, the blood has cleansed you. Jesus has taken your hand and placed it into the hand of His Father saying, “Father, here is another little Lamb I died for.” And the Father has gladly reached out and accepted you into His Heavenly Kingdom.
Now, put both of your hands in the nail-riven hands knowing that He is all yours. Then never let go; and one day, Heaven will be yours. Hold fast that which is good (I Thessalonians 5:21).
Receive the Holy Ghost
Salvation is just the beginning, and you must go on to receive the baptism of the Holy Ghost. Jesus brought that power from On High; and He said, Ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth (Acts 1:8). That is a promise of God; and Peter said, The promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call (Acts 2:39).
The Holy Ghost is the Spirit of truth and grace. He is the Spirit of divine love, divine faith, divine power, divine goodness, divine mercy, divine forgiveness, divine gentleness, divine self-control and so much more.
Reach Out for the Miracle Hands
If you need a miracle today, it doesn’t matter how long you have been sick or afflicted. You can be made whole today because the miracle hands that were in the manger are here today with just as much power as they had then. They have all you need for soul, mind and body; so stake your claim today. We believe in good hospitals, good medicines and good medical people; but when they have done all they can do, there are the miracle hands like no others that can heal all diseases and afflictions.
Let the Master’s hands touch you now. Sickness does not come from God; it comes from the devil. Until man and woman sinned and fell into the hands of the devil, they were never sick, never had a pain and never even cried. God made man and woman with perfect bodies, so He can make you well today. You may have AIDS, but thousands have been healed of AIDS through this Jesus ministry. We are documenting the cases to prove to medical people all over the world that the Lord heals AIDS.
Lord, here they are. In the name of Jesus, heal the people of AIDS, cancer, diabetes, heart trouble, lung trouble, paralysis, leprosy or any other affliction they may have. It doesn’t matter what their trouble is; you can heal them in the blood name of Jesus. Re-create the brains of children who were born with just a part of a brain. You have done it again and again. Heal them right now in the holy name of the Lord! Heal!
God bless all of you. Serve the Lord with all your heart and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths (Proverbs 3:5,6). He said, Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart (Psalm 37:4).
Taking a Step of Faith to Receive a Miracle
by Rev. Steve Millar
There will come a time in your life when you will have a need to receive a miracle. It may be tomorrow, or it may be further down the road; but sooner or later, you will have that need. You could have some deadly disease working in your body or an ache or pain that is hindering your ability to move about; but whatever it is, it is up to you to take that step of faith to receive your miracle.
Just like a father wants his sick child to receive a miracle, your heavenly Father wants you to receive your miracle; but you have to meet the condition of being a child of God, and the only way to do that is by accepting Jesus Christ into your heart.
Unfortunately, some people do not want to live for God, and they want to go the way of the world. God does not heal people so they can have the strength to go deeper into sin; He heals them so they will live for Him. For example, if a smoker has cancer, God first wants that person to receive Jesus. Then He will heal them of cancer so they will have a great testimony, not so they can start smoking again.
Healing Is God’s Will
In the beginning, God made man without sickness in his body and placed him in the Garden of Eden. God never intended for man to be sick; but when man sinned, sickness entered the world. Everything changed for the human race when Adam and Eve sinned.
God wants to take care of His children. He proved that when He brought the Israelites out of Egyptian bondage, and there was not one feeble person among them. He [God] brought them forth also with silver and gold: and there was not one feeble person among their tribes (Psalm 105:37). That means about three million people, young and old alike, were strong and healthy. God said, I am the LORD that healeth thee (Exodus 15:26).
Before you could be saved from your sins, you had to decide that it was the will of God for you to be saved; and it is the same thing with healing. You have to decide that it is the will of God for you to be healed.
We all have an appointment with death unless we are taken in the Rapture, but we do not have to suffer with sickness and pain. Moses was 120 years old when he died; and the Bible says, His eye was not dim, nor his natural force abated (Deuteronomy 34:7). Before Moses died, he had the strength to climb a mountain; and his eyesight was so good that he could see all the land of Canaan. Then he went home to be with the Lord.
We believe in good doctors and good medicine, and we know God has given man the knowledge to take healing from nature and apply it to our bodies. If you cut your finger, it will usually heal up on its own; but if infection sets in, the doctor takes what God has put in nature and uses medicine on your infection. The bottom line is that God gives the healing.
Types of Healing Contact
There are different examples in the Bible where people took a step of faith to receive a miracle by using a point of contact to help them release their faith. The most common method we use at Grace Cathedral is the laying on of hands. Jesus told the disciples, And these signs shall follow them that believe…they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover (Mark 16:17,18). We see this take place in all of our Friday night miracle services. People take that step of faith to go into the healing line to get prayer and receive their miracle.
Another common point of contact we use at Grace Cathedral is the blest cloth. It is a small piece of cloth that Rev. Angley has prayed over, and there is a great anointing on that cloth. We have received great testimonies from people all over the world who have used the anointed blest cloth to receive a miracle.
This same method was used in the Early Church. And God wrought special miracles by the hands of Paul: So that from his body were brought unto the sick handkerchiefs or aprons, and the diseases departed from them, and the evil spirits went out of them (Acts 19:11,12).
The Bible tells us that the disciples used anointing with oil as a point of contact. And he [Jesus] called unto him the twelve, and began to send them forth by two and two; and gave them power over unclean spirits; And they [the 12 disciples] went out, and preached that men should repent. And they cast out many devils, and anointed with oil many that were sick, and healed them (Mark 6:7,12,13).
As the disciples went forth, multitudes of people were coming to the Lord; and they had great faith to receive miracles. And believers were the more added to the Lord, multitudes both of men and women.) They brought forth the sick into the streets, and laid them on beds and couches, that at the least the shadow of Peter passing by might overshadow some of them (Acts 5:14,15). In these cases, Peter’s shadow was the point of contact.
Be Determined to Press On
The Bible tells us that a woman with an issue of blood took that step of faith to receive her miracle from Jesus, and her point of contact was the hem of Jesus’ garment. And a certain woman, which had an issue of blood twelve years, And had suffered many things of many physicians, and had spent all that she had, and was nothing bettered, but rather grew worse, When she had heard of Jesus, came in the press behind, and touched his garment. For she said, If I may touch but his clothes, I shall be whole. And straightway the fountain of her blood was dried up; and she felt in her body that she was healed of that plague (Mark 5:25-29).
It is hard to say how many people followed Jesus that day, but we do know that as many as 5000 people had gathered to see Him. That woman was in desperate need, and no one could help her; so Jesus was her last hope. She had probably endured many painful tests and procedures without getting any better, but she didn’t allow the discouraging words from her physicians to keep her from pressing toward Jesus.
The woman was weak in body and weary in mind, but her desperation for a miracle kept her focused on Jesus. I’m sure she didn’t feel like fighting the crowds of people that surrounded Him, but her divine hope and faith gave her the strength she needed to press through to Jesus and touch the hem of His garment.
It appears that the woman had a lot of money because the Bible said she spent all she had, but it doesn’t matter how much money you have if it can’t bring you good health. Many wealthy people have spent thousands of dollars on doctors and medicine without any success, and they have died of incurable diseases. But with God, nothing is impossible. You don’t need money to receive a miracle from the Lord; you only need faith to believe.
According to Your Faith
Put yourself in that woman’s position. The devil has fought your health for 12 years, and you are so tired and ill as you try to make your way through a huge crowd of people. Then you see an opening, and you have only a few more steps to get to Jesus; but the devil will fight you the hardest when you are the closest to your victory. I’m sure he came against that woman’s mind and said, “Look at all those people around Jesus who are touching Him. None of them appear to be receiving anything.”
The devil will fight, and that is when many people fall short. They listen to what the devil is saying, and then they take their eyes off Jesus and start looking at others. The woman with the issue of blood kept her focus on Jesus, and she took a step of faith to touch the hem of His garment.
Some people come to Grace Cathedral seeking miracles and leave empty-handed. Jesus said, According to your faith be it unto you (Matthew 9:29). It is according to the faith that worketh within you that will determine whether or not you receive your miracle. You have to examine your heart and make sure there is no doubt in you that will keep you from reaching the hem of Jesus’ garment.
Be a Testimony
When the woman with the issue of blood finally reached her goal, she touched Jesus’ garment. Immediately, she knew she was healed; and immediately, Jesus knew virtue had gone out of Him. Then He turned around and asked His disciples, Who touched my clothes? And his disciples said unto him, Thou seest the multitude thronging thee, and sayest thou, Who touched me (Mark 5:30,31)?
Jesus looked around and saw the woman afraid and trembling, and she fell at Jesus’ feet and told Him what she had done. Then Jesus in all love said to her, Daughter, thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace, and be whole of thy plague (Mark 5:34). Imagine how those words must have burned in her heart. She no doubt repeated them over and over again to herself and to others as she testified of her miracle.
When you receive a miracle, it is important to share that experience with others so they can receive hope to receive their miracle, too. The great faith of the woman with the issue of blood and what she did and received no doubt spread to others because we read in the next chapter that when Jesus and His disciples got off the boat and entered into the land of Gennesaret, the word quickly spread throughout the region. People brought their sick and laid them out in the streets to be healed. And [they] besought him that they might touch if it were but the border of his garment: and as many as touched him were made whole (Mark 6:56).
Those who reached out in perfect faith with no doubt were made completely whole, and that means they received a miracle for everything. Jesus didn’t heal people of just one thing; He healed them of everything.
Be Made Whole
In John’s Gospel, we find Jesus in Jerusalem at the Pool of Bethesda where a multitude of people who were sick and afflicted were waiting for an angel to come down and trouble the water. When that happened, the first one who stepped into the water was made whole of whatever disease they had. Now there is at Jerusalem by the sheep market a pool, which is called in the Hebrew tongue Bethesda, having five porches. In these lay a great multitude of impotent folk, of blind, halt, withered, waiting for the moving of the water. For an angel went down at a certain season into the pool, and troubled the water: whosoever then first after the troubling of the water stepped in was made whole of whatsoever disease he had (John 5:2-4). The person was made whole all over, not just partially.
I’m sure that was a stressful situation as desperate, sick people competed for a place up front so they could be the first one into the water when the angel came. One person who was at the pool the day Jesus was there was a man who had been sick and unable to walk for 38 years. No doubt many times, he had watched others step over him to get to the water when the angel stirred it; but the man had great hope that one day, he would make it into the water first. The man had missed out on receiving his miracle for so long, but Jesus doesn’t want us to miss receiving a miracle.
Jesus saw the man at the pool that day, and He knew he had been there a long time; so He asked him, Wilt thou be made whole? The impotent man answered him, Sir, I have no man, when the water is troubled, to put me into the pool: but while I am coming, another steppeth down before me (John 5:6,7).
The man did not realize that he no longer needed the pool because the Miracle Worker—Jesus Christ, the living water—was standing right in front of him. The man just had to take a step of faith to receive his miracle; and when he did, Jesus saith unto him, Rise, take up thy bed, and walk. And immediately the man was made whole, and took up his bed, and walked (John 5:8,9).
Later, Jesus found the man in the temple and told him, Behold, thou art made whole: sin no more, lest a worse thing come unto thee (John 5:14). Jesus paid the price so the man could not only be made whole but go forth and live a holy life, not a life of sin. That living water is available to everyone. It is not first come, first served; there is plenty for all to receive. Jesus paid the price so all mankind could have the living water and never thirst again.
Take a Step toward Salvation
Sin brings nothing but destruction to your soul, mind and body. The devil has deceived many people into believing that no one can live free from sin, yet Jesus told the man at the pool to go and sin no more lest a worse thing come upon him. Jesus was warning the man that if he turned back to a life of sin, he could not only lose his miracle but a worse sickness could come upon him.
We need to cherish the miracle power of God, and the greatest miracle of all is the miracle of salvation; but how many people in this world claim to be Christians while living a life of sin? There is no power in their testimony for Jesus Christ, just hypocrisy, and that will not lead sinners to Christ; it will push them away from Him.
We all must value the divine blood of Jesus and what faith in that divine blood will do, not only for the soul but also for the mind and the body. In order to receive all the benefits in the blood, you need to repent of your sins; and then you will be ready to receive a miracle for whatever you need.
You must hate sin as much as God hates sin. You can’t serve God and the devil; it is either one or the other. For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23); but the Lord has given each one of us a measure of faith to reach out for that miracle of salvation. God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith (Romans 12:3). I can’t force you to receive Jesus Christ as your personal Savior; you have to want Him to come into your heart. All I can do is encourage you to take that step of faith to receive the greatest miracle of all—the miracle of salvation.
If you are ready to take that step right now, go to ErnestAngley.org/salvation or say the sinner’s prayer at the end of the first sermon found on page 7 of this magazine. God bless you today.
