The Soul Feeds the Mind
by Ernest Angley
April 2021
The peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). Since the decline of the Early Church, most of God’s people have not understood how to find peace for their mind. In fact, many have concluded that having peace of mind is an impossibility; so they are just grateful for the peace in their souls. In this last hour, the Lord wants His children to have great peace in their minds as well as in their souls.
Jesus came to Earth and gave His life to become the bridge between man and his God, and He made reconciliation between them possible. However, another bridge was still needed between the soul and mind; and that bridge is the Holy Ghost. Those two bridges are very different from one another.
The mind travels fast, and it can go from one thought to another in a split second. The mind is full of duties, responsibilities and so much more; but the soul is not. The soul of a born-again Christian is where the greatness of God is stored. It is a reservoir filled at all times by the Lord, and God’s blessings flow into the soul. As you let the Holy Spirit bridge the gulf between your soul and your mind, He will flow the love and peace of God from your soul into your mind daily.
Many people search for the peace of God everywhere but within themselves. They look for Heaven to send them peace because they don’t realize that Calvary has already brought more peace than they could ever need and placed it in their souls. God puts His peace and the joy of salvation into the souls of each of His children; but all too often, those benefits remain unused.
Consider a person who has millions of dollars in the bank yet starves to death because he never withdrew and used his money. In the same way, your mind can be starving for the things of God when they are in your soul all the time. When you don’t use the greatness of God in your soul, life will seem dreary; and that brings about depression and oppression. In this last hour, God wants His people to be the happiest people on Earth.
The Treasure House
A person’s soul feeds his mind. Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh (Matthew 12:34). A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things (Matthew 12:35). The soul of a child of God is a treasure house that holds God’s blessings. It’s a place to store your most valuable possessions—salvation, the love of God, divine peace, the joy of the Lord and all the fruits of the Spirit. A true child of God treasures the things of God.
For those who are unsaved, the soul can be a treasure house for evil. Devil-possessed people have nothing good in their soul to draw from because demons not only have their minds but also their souls. Jesus said, An evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things. When you have evil treasures and destructive things in your soul, they will enter your mind; and evil will be the result.
People with evil hearts and minds have left God out of their plans. They don’t have God; so they are empty shells with nothing good in their souls, only continual evil. Their souls lack the things that will really satisfy them; and they have no life, only death. Like a desert that produces no fruit, a lost soul produces no happiness and nothing of value. All an unsaved person has is what is in his mind. His soul is a pauper because it is missing out on God’s blessings.
Many men, women, boys and girls hug evil treasures to their bosoms day after day, year after year until they finally die lost. They never really lived or tasted true life because there is no life without God. Many people claim they live life to its fullest; but without God, they are empty shells experiencing a living death right here on Earth and facing a future in hell.
There are children of God who have let the enemy cheat them out of God’s blessings many, many times because they sought help from vain sources. Not knowing their help was right within them, they kept trying to see their help coming from Heaven with the eyes of self; but when you are in trouble and full of great distress, you can rarely see all the way to Heaven.
You must know that you have God right inside of you and never forget that Jesus and the Holy Spirit dwell there too. You can draw from all the treasures of Heaven; they are within your reach. The soul of each born-again child of God carries the goodness and mercy of God, the power of Calvary, and Pentecost. That is why the Bible says, The just shall live by faith (Romans 1:17).
Never check your salvation by your feelings; you have to use faith. When you check your salvation by your feelings, you’re using your mind rather than faith. You’re searching your mind rather than your soul for your salvation, and that can bring many false conclusions. Faith goes to the source of your supply—your soul, your innermost being—and then your answer will register at once. However, you can only truly go into your soul by using the faith of God.
A Holy Soul Brings About a Holy Mind
What is contained in the soul of everyone who receives salvation?—Jesus, God the Father and God the Holy Ghost. Greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world (I John 4:4). The Spirit of God is in your soul, but He operates through your mind. It is the great tool through which the Spirit manifests Himself. If your soul is sanctified, your mind is sanctified. Having a holy soul means you have a holy mind.
You can’t have an ungodly mind and a holy soul; nor can you have an ungodly soul and a holy mind. The godly mind and godly soul go together just as the ungodly mind and the ungodly soul go together.
For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he (Proverbs 23:7). How a man thinks in his heart, not in his mind, determines how he operates. When you have doubt or fear in your heart, it influences your mind, your words and your actions. That is why it is a necessity that your heart always be full of the greatness of God, and then it will spill over into your mind.
After Adam and Eve sinned, man and woman needed help. They had become victims of Satan, so Jesus came to set them free. He made it possible for people to have new hearts and minds fit for Heaven to move into and for God to live in. Those new holy hearts and minds are as holy as Heaven itself.
Believe in Your Heart
All the treasures of Heaven are yours when you become born new; but if you only signed a church membership card or were baptized in water without having true repentance, you don’t have the treasures of Heaven in your soul to draw from. You are trying to claim salvation through mental assent, your feelings or the words of misguided people.
You have to search beyond man’s opinions and go to the Word of God which says, If thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation (Romans 10:9,10). You confess salvation with your mouth, and you must believe it in your heart. Salvation is of the heart, so your confession must come from your heart. Your soul must believe.
Believing for salvation with only your mind will not bring salvation to your soul. You will remain a sinner and will not spend eternity in Heaven. The soul is the part of you that is eternal, and that means it can never die. Also, there is no such thing as “soul sleep” after death. Your soul will live an eternal life in Heaven or an eternal death in hell.
Consider what you feed your soul. Rather than feeding your mind destructive thoughts, feed it the Word of God. Then let the Holy Spirit flow the Word from your soul into your mind.
God’s Thoughts Are Not Man’s Thoughts
When you do not use the Word of God that is in your soul, you are limited to using what is in your mind. It can select the right food for your stomach or the proper clothes to wear, but it cannot reason with the Word of God. Through His Holy Word, the Lord tells us, My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts (Isaiah 55:8,9).
To get the strength you need to overcome the devil, you have to go beyond the thoughts of your mind and look into your soul; but if God’s overcoming power is not in your soul, you will be defeated. You cannot be an overcomer unless the Lord is in your soul; so if He does not possess your soul, you will have no overcoming power and strength. You will have nothing to use to trample the devil underfoot, and you will become a victim of Lucifer.
If you are not living free from sin, you cannot trample devils underfoot. The only defense the unsaved have against the devil is having a mind of self-control, and that is not enough to defeat him. You can’t live a victorious life in Christ unless you are free from sin.
The Unforgivable Sin
When some people accused Jesus of having a devil in Him, He said, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand: And if Satan cast out Satan, he is divided against himself; how shall then his kingdom stand? And if I by Beelzebub cast out devils, by whom do your children cast them out? therefore they shall be your judges. But if I cast out devils by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God is come unto you. Or else how can one enter into a strong man’s house, and spoil his goods, except he first bind the strong man? and then he will spoil his house. He that is not with me is against me; and he that gathereth not with me scattereth abroad. Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men. And whosever speaketh a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the world to come (Matthew 12:25–32). Jesus plainly let them know that it was blasphemy to say the Holy Ghost in Him was the devil.
Blasphemy against the Holy Ghost is the unforgivable sin. When someone blasphemes against the Holy Ghost, the Spirit lifts from that person forever. He will never again feel the drawing of the Holy Spirit, so you must always be careful of what you say.
One Mind in Christ
God offers so much to those who are born again, and one of those things is the mind of Christ. For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ (I Corinthians 2:16). The mind of Christ—what a great promise! But it is impossible to have the mind of Christ without having Him in your soul. To have the mind of Christ, you must first allow the Lord to take over your soul. Your mind cannot yield to the Lord unless Jesus is in your heart.
Jesus made it possible for hearts to beat in rhythm with God’s heart and to be in harmony and unity with the Holy Ghost. It is marvelous to have that connection, and every true child of God has it; but some don’t recognize it.
Finally, be ye all of one mind, having compassion one of another, love as brethren, be pitiful, be courteous (I Peter 3:8). How can people from all over the world be of one mind?—by having Jesus in their hearts. This is not talking about having one mind in the human but one mind in Christ. When His Spirit is in a human heart, He can give that person His thoughts and the words to say.
Recognize Your Dependence on God
Jesus told the disciples that when they were brought before their persecutors, they should take no thought beforehand what ye shall speak, neither do ye premeditate: but whatsoever shall be given you in that hour, that speak ye: for it is not ye that speak, but the Holy Ghost (Mark 13:11). When you have the Holy Spirit living inside, you have His knowledge in your soul; and you can depend on Him. He will give you what to say in your hours of trial. You must recognize your dependence on God because the only alternative is to be in the bondage of Lucifer.
You are either free or in bondage. When you vacillate between thinking you are free and thinking you are bound, that is your human mind working. If you are saved, never lose sight of and bypass the things that are in your heart.
What Is Really in Your Heart?
Search your heart with the Spirit of God. The Lord knows what is in your heart, and only through Him can you know too. Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts: And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting (Psalm 139:23,24).
God is the one who must search your heart because the heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it? I the LORD search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings (Jeremiah 17:9,10). Ask God to search your heart to see if what you think is there is really there. The Holy Spirit will bear witness if your spirit is cleansed, if all is well in your soul and if you have made the Lord an Eden in your soul.
Lo, I Am with You Always
God made the Garden of Eden such a beautiful, blessed place, and it was so glorious that the Lord Himself would leave Heaven and come down to walk in that garden. The souls of you who have been born again are a glorious Eden for the Lord to dwell in. You have taken in so much of His grace, power, peace and love that He lives inside you all the time.
Jesus promised, Lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world (Matthew 28:20). He didn’t promise to be with you only in your mind but in personal, living reality. The Lord is here to walk with you all the way, and He is calling on His people to do a great work in this final hour.
We don’t have time to struggle with the things of the world or to fight fear, frustration, oppression, depression and despair. Glorious hope dwells inside those who are looking for Jesus to come; it is in the treasure house of their soul. Rejoice over the Rapture hour to come when our Lord will appear in midair! Look up! Redemption draweth nigh!
You will not be able to hide as much of the Word in your mind as you need. That is why it must be in your soul. Day-to-day living may crowd in on your mind until the scriptures are pushed aside, but the Word can never be crowded out of the soul of a born-again Christian.
The shock of losing a loved one may bring so much grief that your mind cannot think clearly, but always remember that the Word is in your soul. Hear the cry of the Holy Spirit from your soul saying, “Child, you will see your loved one again! Child, don’t be as one who has no hope. When the Lord comes, He will bring your loved one with Him.” God’s faith flowing from your soul into your mind will soften a little of the sorrow in your mind and brush aside some of the torment for a little while.
Each day, you must learn to yield your mind more and more to the storehouse of treasures in your soul; and what valuable treasures they are! They are more valuable than all the silver and gold in the world. The soul holds God’s strength, power and greatness. It is all made possible through Calvary.
The Seal of the Holy Ghost
After that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise (Ephesians 1:13). When you are a true believer in Christ’s atonement, the Holy Spirit puts a seal of the blood of Jesus on your soul that the devil can’t break. Only willful sin can break that seal. Thank God for Calvary! Thank God we are blood-washed, blood-bought and on our way to Heaven!
Be perfect, be of good comfort, be of one mind, live in peace; and the God of love and peace shall be with you (II Corinthians 13:11). When you read that, your mind will tell you instantly that you cannot be perfect; but that which is in a born-again soul is perfect because it is of God, and it is sealed with the Holy Spirit. Your soul carries the treasure of God’s plan for you. It is in your soul, not your mind.
Although evil thoughts may enter your mind, you have the power to draw on the resources of your soul at once before you put those thoughts into action. Where did those thoughts come from?—perhaps from your childhood, from past experiences or from self.
Self is the devil’s playground, and your mind alone will not deny self. That is why you must draw on the love of God to take you out of your love of self and enable you to deny self. The love of God will cast the devil down and prevent him from having access to your mind.
Fruit from the Almighty
The treasure house of your soul holds the fruits of the Spirit, and one of those fruits is supernatural self-control; but you must draw on it to be able to use it. It is miraculous how you can draw on the treasures of the soul! Jesus said, I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly (John 10:10). Many are wealthy but don’t know it, and they are depressed when they should be rejoicing.
When you are born new, you have the treasures of Heaven and Almighty God in your soul; and that makes your soul an Eden greater than Adam’s Eden. The fruit in the first Eden was just for the body, and it came from the Earth; but the fruit in your soul comes from the Almighty. It is eternal, and it is priceless.
So many people long for something to keep them happy and to give them peace and strength beyond the human. They want power over all the powers of darkness, power that takes away fear and gives light in the darkest nights. If you have the treasure house of God in your soul, you have that power.
God Poured Conviction on Me
Do you have the treasure of Calvary within? Have you knelt at the Cross and carried away the gift of redemption, the greatest treasure that God has ever offered mankind? I have; but for a time in my youth, I was reluctant to embrace that treasure. I thought salvation would make me miserable and that becoming saved meant going to my death.
The night I got saved, I was going to my death; but that death was different from what I had imagined. My death that night was dying out to self, but self desperately wanted to live. I was just eighteen and full of life, and I thought the world offered everything I wanted—peace, joy and fun. I had never felt I needed to live for God in order to have happiness.
When I got out of bed in the morning, everyone in the house knew I was awake. I had a lot of laughter, and Mom would “prophesy” over me saying, “Young man, you are going to get a whipping before the sun goes down.” And she was always right.
I heard plenty of Christians testify, but many of them sounded as though the devil almost had them. They were depressed, fearful and begging for prayer. I was much happier than they sounded; and in fact, I wasn’t even conscious of the devil being around. I loved dancing and the world’s music, and I didn’t know what God’s music really meant. I was having a good time…until the Lord started dealing with me.
I thought God was doing me a grave injustice by convicting me for my sins. Everywhere I went, I felt like someone was looking over my shoulder saying, “What if the Lord would come when you are in a place like this?” He wouldn’t leave me alone. I would go somewhere else; and I would hear that voice whisper, “What if the Lord would come while you are here?”
Night and day, the Lord was after me saying, “What if you don’t wake up in the morning?” Just as I would be about to go to sleep, I would suddenly be wide awake thinking, “What if I don’t wake up? I’ll be in hell!” The Lord wanted me to know where I would be if I died without Him. He filled me with so much fear that I thought He would drop me into hell just anytime, so I made a covenant with Him. I couldn’t get away from Him; so I bargained with Him saying, “God, if you will leave me alone for a week and let me do whatever I want to, I’ll get saved.” Then I planned a lifetime of fun all in one week.
My Last Week
God did His part, and He didn’t bother me at all that week. He let me go wherever and do whatever I wanted. Not one time did I hear that voice say, “What if the Lord would come when you are in a place like this?” Not one night when I placed my head on my pillow did He say, “What if you never wake up on this Earth?”
I wanted that week to never end. If I could have stopped the clock, I would still be in that week today; but that didn’t happen. I hated to see Saturday night come to an end because I knew I had an appointment with God on Sunday, and I didn’t have enough sense to be happy about it. I didn’t have the mind of Christ, and there was no godly treasure house in my soul; but I was sincere about the promise I had made to God. I had placed my life on the line when I made that covenant with God, and I knew I had to get saved on Sunday night; or that would be the end of me.
Oh, the human mind! The evil in my soul was feeding my mind, and I was drawing from that evil as well as from all that was around me. I was hugging the world to me because I loved it; it was life to me. I felt that after I was saved, I would never laugh again. By the time I got through with all the “thou shalt nots” listed in the Bible, I thought I would be dead. That is the kind of mind I had without God. When you feed the mind from an evil soul, the devil is the chef; and he was making me think I would have no life after salvation, but I didn’t know what living really was.
That Sunday night, I was convinced that I couldn’t have felt any worse if I had been on my way to the electric chair. I thought it was the end of Ernest Angley for sure, but it was just the end of the old creature. I didn’t know the Lord was about to make my cup run over with joy; I didn’t even see any cup, but I kept my promise to God. I forced myself to get out of my pew, and I staggered down to the altar. It was the longest aisle I have ever walked, and the people seemed to swim before my eyes. They said later that I looked like a drunken person. I was under great conviction, and I fell at the altar into the arms of God. There, He saved me and poured great joy over me just like it was a tub of honey.
Salvation Wasn’t What I Thought It Would Be
Never has there been a person reared in salvation who was more shocked to receive it than I was. All the Sunday school teachers, preachers and prayers of family members never prepared me for what salvation was really like. They had salvation in their souls, but I had never understood what they carried. I thought I would have to try to live above my desire for the things of the world, but that desire was suddenly gone; and the world meant nothing to me.
When the Lord took over my soul, I withheld nothing. He cleaned it up and moved in. Jesus made all the difference in me, and the Holy Spirit filled me to the brim. My mind was no longer being fed by the devil but by the Lord.
After the Lord took me over, I was like a person in a trance for about six weeks. Salvation is not like that for everyone, but the Lord wanted to show me what it meant to be truly saved. I had found a different, glorious life. The Lord was with me night and day, and I just wanted to be with Him. I lived for the services at church; and when I was not in church, I wanted to be shut away with God. The Bible had become my love book, and I yearned to learn everything I could that God had said to me in His Holy Word.
“I’ll Preach, but I Can’t!”
Later, the Holy Spirit called me to preach; and I said, “Oh, God, I can’t preach, but I will.” He held me in His arms of love and dealt with me night and day. He lifted me into a heavenly place where I was willing to do whatever He wanted whether I thought I could or not. That is why I said, “Lord, I’ll preach, but I don’t know how.”
I had sat through thousands and thousands of sermons while I was growing up, but I couldn’t remember one. I wondered, “Where would I ever get my first sermon?” I didn’t understand at that time how God would preach through me. Then one night only days after I had received the baptism in the Holy Spirit, I was called on in a cottage prayer meeting to read some scripture. The person originally scheduled to read it could not do it.
I had decided to read a particular passage; but as I stood up to do that, a voice seemed to say to me, “Look up.” When I did, I went into a cloud of glory from my waist up. Then the Holy Spirit took me to a passage about Paul and Silas in prison. After I had read it and finished speaking, I sat down; and the Lord told me that was my first sermon. I have been preaching ever since.
The Lord can take you over if you let Him, but some people don’t draw on the treasures of God in their soul; and they let their mind interfere. They listen to the opinions of others, and they let friends and loved ones worry them and distract them. They become nervous wrecks because loved ones prefer to sin rather than to serve God.
If people don’t want to serve God, that is their decision. God gave man free choice. Your responsibility is to live a Christlike life before them. You must love their souls, but you don’t have to love their wicked ways. When the Lord gives you an opportunity to lead them to Jesus, you must be ready.
I Wanted to Be with God’s People
My brother and I shared a bedroom, and we ran around together; but when I received salvation, it was time for me to separate from him. I no longer wanted to go anywhere with him. I let him go his way, and I went mine. I didn’t criticize him, and he didn’t criticize me.
I prayed in our room whether he was there or not; and if I wanted to pray out loud, I did. I felt at liberty to do that because I was with God. I had left the world behind and had given my mind over to Jesus, and I didn’t let other people bother me no matter what they said or how much they persecuted me. It didn’t matter to me that I had lost friends; I didn’t miss them at all.
My mind was completely different, and I needed to be around people who were different. God’s people who loved Jesus the way I loved Him were the ones I wanted to be around. I wasn’t the same person; I was changed completely. I needed to be with people who had the mind of Jesus like the Lord had given to me. His mind was a mind of courage, strength and peace in the Holy Ghost; and it was a mind to serve God. Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus (Philippians 2:5).
Then the Lord took me to the Word of God and pointed out each thing that made up the mind of Jesus. He had given me His mind, and I needed to know what made it up.
I Had a Mind to Serve the Lord
I had great joy that came from my soul. I was drawing the joy of the Word of God from my soul and pouring it into my system. Whenever I had a few moments, I spent them with the Word of God. I always carried part of the Bible with me, and I didn’t care who saw me reading it. If people wanted to talk about Jesus, I talked about Jesus. It didn’t matter to me whether they believed or not. I would look them straight in the eye and give them the truth. I had a mind to serve the Lord and to be a witness for Him.
I had left sin behind, and I was so happy to be on my way to Glory. I would sing choruses that blessed me, and the Holy Spirit would take me over and sing in different tongues and languages. My soul was filled with songs that glorified the Lord. He thrilled me beyond words, and I spent much time with Him. They were precious, sacred, holy times with the Holy Spirit speaking. The Lord was talking to me and telling me that I would carry His Gospel, His love and His power to the people.
It was so wonderful to have all the ingredients in my soul that made up the mind of Jesus and to have the Holy Spirit flow those wonderful things from my soul into my mind! The treasures of Heaven keep the mind of Jesus operating in yielded children of God, and only through the treasures of Heaven can it be done. When you begin to draw on other sources, you fail to draw on the Word of God and your salvation the way you should.
Money Can’t Buy God’s Treasures
Think again about what is in your soul. If you have received salvation, you have Calvary there. If you have received the Upper Room experience of being baptized in the Holy Spirit, you have the nine fruits of the Holy Spirit to draw from. The happiness of God is in the treasure house of your soul, and money can’t buy that kind of treasure.
The soul is never locked away from you, so you can draw from its storehouse any time. God’s provisions are unbelievable; yet they are real, great and wonderful. You can draw out of the good treasure of your soul day and night and find what you need. You don’t have to look elsewhere; just look inside into the treasure chest of your soul.
Some people just can’t conceive that God can give them happiness; but when they finally find God’s great happiness, they will discover what life really is.
The bright, shining promises of God have the life of Heaven in them; and when you are a child of God, those promises are carefully placed year after year in the treasure house of your soul. Nothing compares to that glorious storehouse of God’s treasures.
The Water of Life
While Jesus was traveling through Galilee, He came to Jacob’s well. He was weary, so He sat down. While He rested, there cometh a woman of Samaria to draw water: Jesus saith unto her, Give me to drink. Then saith the woman of Samaria unto him, How is it that thou, being a Jew, askest drink of me, which am a woman of Samaria? for the Jews have no dealings with the Samaritans. Jesus answered and said unto her, If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water. The woman saith unto him, Sir, thou hast nothing to draw with, and the well is deep: from whence then hast thou that living water? Jesus answered and said unto her, Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again: But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life (John 4:7,9–11,13,14).
People may look at us and think we have nothing to draw with either, but we have the Holy Ghost to draw the water of life flowing in our souls. Rejoice in that fact!
From the treasure house of your soul, you can take the beautiful promise of the soon coming of Jesus; and it will fill your heart with gladness. There is no need to explain it to those who don’t want to believe; just be happy you have the promises of your Lord. That happiness will be a testimony that will reach souls who could never be reached any other way.
God’s Peace and Joy Abound
Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me (John 14:6). Jesus walked the shores of Galilee and taught the truth. Do you want to know the truth about Heaven, about yourself and about what you can have?
If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed (John 8:36). If you are born again, aren’t you glad Jesus set you free? Aren’t you glad you dropped your nets at the Lord’s command? You decided you wanted His joy and peace, so you turned to follow the Lord. When you used the mind of Jesus, those nets helped you to be a fisher of men and bring in the lost.
Joy and peace abound in the Kingdom of the Lord, and the Lord gives His blessings to His children abundantly. Why let the enemy rob you any longer? Why look elsewhere for the peace you need when you have it right inside? Why search for joy when it flourishes in your soul? When the storms of life are raging all around you and churning the waters into a boil, you can be at peace just like Jesus was because you can have the same treasures of Heaven inside that He had. And he said unto them, Why are ye so fearful? how is it that ye have no faith (Mark 4:40)?
What kind of mind do you have? What are you feeding it? What treasures do you have in your soul? Think of everything that belongs to you through the Word of God. How much have you taken into your mind from the Word, and how much of that have you delivered to your soul so your soul could feed it back to your mind? The mind lifts God’s promises out of His Word and puts them into the soul. Then the soul feeds the mind the gracious treasures of Heaven.
Fair as the Moon, Clear as the Sun
In this final hour, the Bride of Christ will be filled with joy because she will have a storehouse full of God’s treasures. She will be happy, contented and strong; so she will not walk in oppression, depression, fear, frustration and despair. The world will see her looking forth as the morning, fair as the moon, clear as the sun, and terrible as an army with banners (Song of Solomon 6:10).
The Bride will walk with so much faith and power that she will sound like a mighty army ready for war. And she will be ready as she wears the whole armor of God every day. The Bride will be the delight of her Groom, Jesus, and He will be her delight. She will not be filled with the treasures of this world; her soul will be filled with the treasures of Heaven.
Genesis 24 tells of Rebekah going to meet her groom, Isaac. In that account, Rebekah is a type of the Bride; Isaac’s servant, Eliezer, is a type of the Holy Ghost; and Isaac is a type of Jesus. The servant, Eliezer, was sent to get a bride for his master, Isaac. In the same way, the Holy Ghost has come as a servant for the Bride of Christ.
Eliezer was waiting for the bride, Rebekah, by the well of salvation, and he had rare and beautiful gifts for her. They were treasures from Abraham, who is a type of God the Father; and he sent them from the groom, Isaac. How thrilled Rebekah must have been when she received the best Father Abraham had!
The Bride Will Meet the Lord in the Air
Today, the Bride of Christ can sing with great joy about the soon coming of her Groom, Jesus. Unfortunately, some are not drawing from the treasure of their soul, so God’s promises are not reality to them; and they want to stay on the Earth forever. However, those who are ready for the Rapture long for it to take place. They long for Jesus to come.
The Bible speaks of the Rapture in I Thessalonians. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord (I Thessalonians 4:14–17).
Going the way of the grave is cruel; but Jesus came and conquered death, hell and the grave. Because of that, we can be changed in a twinkling of an eye and caught away to be with the Lord forever. In this final hour, the fact that Rapture ground is just ahead should always be in our minds.
Come Home Before It’s Too Late
What is your soul feeding your mind? If it is feeding you bad thoughts, God has a remedy for them. I told you part of my personal story of how God turned me around. Some of you reading this today are running away from God like I was. I knew better, and perhaps you do too. I wanted to wait to get saved until I was about ninety-four or so. I thought all the pleasure in life was in sin, but I now know that isn’t true. Why don’t you come home before it is too late? This could be your last chance to make the decision of where you will spend eternity.
If you don’t have God today, pray this prayer with me now: Oh, God, save my soul. Forgive me of my sins. I am so sorry, Lord, that I sinned against you, but I have come home; and I’m going to serve you, Lord, for the rest of my life. I believe the blood of Jesus washes away all of my sins. Come on in, Jesus! Come into my heart!
If you meant that prayer, Jesus has come. Start reading your Bible and praying. Bible fasting will help you too.
Healing Is a Treasure of the Soul
Do you need a healing today? In time of sickness, you will find the faith needed for healing among your treasures. Don’t ask the opinions of others; go to the treasure chest of your soul. Open it up and use God’s gifts. Bring out the promises of God that say, I am the Lord that healeth thee (Exodus 15:26). With God all things are possible (Matthew 19:26).
God’s promises are a part of you when you take them from the Bible and place them in your heart. That is where they take on the life of God. God’s promises have the same strength, power and greatness as when Jesus spoke them. That is why you must place His promises in your soul through the Holy Spirit. They are treasures, and it is wonderful to speak from the treasure house of your soul. The treasures of Heaven are freely given to you.
If you are sick and afflicted today, let the Holy Spirit feed your mind and soul so you can accept God’s miracles of healing and believe in all faith. It is hard to tell how many people have been healed through this Jesus ministry, and this is His ministry.
I am not a healer, and I never feel that way at all because I know better. God is the healer, and I am His believer. The Bible says, He [God] sent his word, and healed them (Psalm 107:20). He [Jesus] was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed (Isaiah 53:5).
Lord, here they are—the diabetics, the cancer victims, the heart patients, the crippled, the blind and the handicapped. Whatever their disease or affliction, I bring them all to you, dear Jesus, because you are the healer. Heal them! Heal! Heal! in the holy, holy name of Jesus!
The healing power is flowing into sick bodies now. You can keep that power with you and watch yourself get well. It is the promise of our Lord, and He keeps His promises; but He said if you doubt, you should not expect to receive anything from Him. But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. For let not that man think that he shall receive anything of the Lord (James 1:6,7).
Don’t let your faith waver. Use the Lord’s faith and Spirit. Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed (I Peter 2:24).
Step into the Mind of Christ
The Lord is seeking to give you the same joy and happiness the Early Church had. The Lord took me into all of that and taught me what they had and how it worked. I’m amazed at how the Lord has spent so much time teaching me what He wants you to have; but I found it by giving everything to God and living in His presence in fastings, prayers and dedications to Him.
Down through the years, I have had to fast my way through to the deepness of God. It is hard to tell how many fasts of forty days it took before I learned how to give my mind over to the Spirit just like I give my hand to a person.
Now, the Lord is bringing you in just as He brought me in, and you must understand how to give your mind over to Him. God doesn’t have the time to spend with you that He spent with me because the hour is so late. Again and again, the Lord is letting us know that we are end-time people; and our time is limited. The Early Church came into the reality of the mind of Christ very quickly on the day of Pentecost, and converts stepped right into that reality because there was such a great outpouring of the Spirit. Now, the Spirit is being poured out again, and you can step into the mind of Christ just like I did.
Receive the Holy Ghost
At the time when I received salvation, altar workers spent a lot of time praying just one person through to the Holy Ghost. They would pray with people until an early morning hour, and many received the Holy Ghost after midnight. Those seeking the Holy Ghost had to really want the baptism and be determined to receive it, and they were not taught to speak in tongues at will.
The altar workers prayed people through to the Holy Ghost one by one, and great rejoicing went up when people received! The saints of God were jubilant to see people receive the real baptism from Heaven.
Some ministers on television today talk about having a prayer tongue, and they claim they can speak in tongues whenever they want to. That is a trick of the devil to try to destroy the real baptism in the Holy Ghost, but God won’t allow that to happen. He has people who are receiving the real Holy Ghost. They don’t try to control the Holy Ghost; the Holy Ghost controls them just like He controlled the Early Church. They are edified, blessed and lifted up in a most gracious way.
I say again that we are end-time people. Let God open your ears and eyes and take you over the way He took over the Early Church.
Sing the Songs of Zion
You must dare to be different. Daniel dared to be different, and God used him in a great way. Take a lesson from the life of Daniel because the Lord is coming soon, and He wants to use you. Close all doors of the world behind you, and don’t look back. If you have failed God in the past, decide right now never to fail Him again. Go all the way with Him, and please Him the rest of the journey.
You must carry the glorious promise of Jesus’ soon appearing in your heart, and always keep it there to draw on. It will steer you away from rock music and other worldly music, so they won’t sweep you downstream into the Tribulation Period.
The Bride will sing the songs of Zion and make music to the Lord, rejoicing in her spirit with music the Lord will listen to. Be filled with the Spirit; Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord (Ephesians 5:18,19).
I rejoice that we have entered the time of the outpouring of the Holy Spirit! I have lived through the time of desolation when the Spirit wasn’t raining down like it is today; but now, we are standing in the rain of the Spirit, and we belong to Him. Give yourself to the Lord and know that you don’t own yourself anymore. For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s (I Corinthians 6:20). Jesus bought us, so we belong to Him.
A Message from the Holy Ghost
Thus saith the Lord, I have brought you to this great hour. I am giving my servant that which I want you to have. Accept it; believe it, and it will work for you in this your last hour.
You must have my power and my strength and my greatness to do the work that I have for you to do. You must not fail me. I cannot use you unless you take my instructions and abide by what I tell you, saith the Lord.
If you will bathe in my anointing daily…and as you bathe in my anointing, my Word will come to life—all of it. And my promises will take on all the power and strength of your Lord. You will not be weak, but you will be strong in my holy name. You will go forth in the power of my Spirit—that means in the Spirit of my love, in the Spirit of my grace, in the Spirit of my goodness, in the Spirit of my compassion, in the Spirit of my mercy, in the Spirit of my wisdom, in the Spirit of my knowledge.
You will do great and wonderful works for me, saith the Lord. I will open the eyes of those who want to see; and they will behold my works, and they will come to me, saith the Lord. The day is far spent; and I say to my people, “Hurry, my people!”
Reach out and embrace all that I am giving you. Eat, eat, eat, eat my Word. Eat my instructions and let them become a part of you. They will be your strength; they will be your greatness, and no power will be able to defeat you. You will find my great joy and my great happiness just like my servant told you. I instructed him so that he could instruct you, and it is thus saith the Lord.
Oh, draw, draw, draw, draw from my wells of salvation. You have all that you need—everything. Ye are complete, saith the Lord. You have everything that is needed for the journey. Draw, draw, draw on me. I have everything that you need. I will be everything daily that you need. I will supply that which is needed at all times. You need not be afraid; you need not be troubled.
You need not be afraid of that hour when your Lord will appear because my miraculous power that works in you will do the work, saith the Lord. My people will be changed; they will be changed in a moment, in a twinkling of an eye, caught up to meet their Lord in the air, saith the Lord.
Let His miracle greatness flow over you; bathe in it. Fill your soul to the brim with it, doubting nothing. Only believe, saith the Lord. Let the soul feed the mind with the greatness of God.
