Elijah is one of the characters in the Old Testament whom I most admire. There hadn’t been a true prophet in the land for years until Elijah came on the scene; and in I Kings, we read that God used him to bring about one of the greatest victories ever: He killed all the prophets of Baal! Yet later, we find him under the juniper tree requesting to die. He had let the words of Jezebel scare him.

And Ahab told Jezebel all that Elijah had done, and withal how he had slain all the prophets with the sword. Then Jezebel sent a messenger unto Elijah, saying, So let the gods do to me, and more also, if I make not thy life as the life of one of them by tomorrow about this time (I Kings 19:1,2). Elijah didn’t take time to reason with God; he just fled into the wilderness with his servant. But he even left him after a while because he didn’t intend to come back; he wanted the Lord to kill him. He was going to his death, so he thought. He didn’t have the mind of the Lord because he had allowed fear to take him over.

But he [Elijah] himself went a day’s journey into the wilderness, and came and sat down under a juniper tree: and he requested for himself that he might die; and said, It is enough; now, O LORD, take away my life; for I am not better than my fathers (I Kings 19:4). In other words, he wanted to die just as his fathers had and for his soul to be with the Lord. You’ll find the juniper tree in the wilderness, and in the wilderness is where many people live.

Never tell God it’s enough; the Lord is the only One who decides when it’s enough for each one of His children. He said that He wouldn’t allow us to be tempted above that which we can endure. There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it (I Corinthians 10:13). When you think that you’ve taken all you can take, look around for a way of escape. If you can’t find one, then just settle down and realize that, with the Lord, you can take some more.

Ministering Angels

And as he [Elijah] lay and slept under a juniper tree, behold, then an angel touched him, and said unto him, Arise and eat (I Kings 19:5). God knows how to work with true children of God, and He said that they would be ministered to by angels. Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation (Hebrews 1:14)?

Angels are real to me, and they minister to thousands of people in my miracle services. The angel of the Lord stands by my side and directs me in each service. God explained to me that His big angel just turns from the throne and talks to me; and the thoughts of God concerning people’s spiritual, physical and financial conditions just seem to pour out to me. I never pray for people without that angel standing beside me. In my overseas crusades, thousands of angels will appear in just one service; and they hold back the powers of darkness. That’s why so many people are delivered from devil possession, voodooism, witchcraft and other darknesses of the devil. They’re delivered from alcohol, drugs and murdering, violent devils. It’s marvelous to see all that God does!

The Lord is mindful of the weaknesses of our flesh, and He knows that we need angels to help us. Although Jesus really needed the disciples in the Garden of Gethsemane, He let them go to sleep. How many times have we gone to sleep when the Lord needed us? If we had yielded to the will of God at those times, we would have ended up on the mount of God. That’s where Elijah would have been if he had continued to do the whole will of God. God never intended for him to be under that juniper tree.

And he [Elijah] looked, and, behold, there was a cake baken on the coals, and a cruse of water at his head (I Kings 19:6). Just imagine an angel cooking a meal for you. Have you ever considered all the times that angels have served you a good, spiritual meal that you weren’t even aware of? They serve the divine Word of the living God, and it’s more valuable to you than food for your stomach.

Don’t Give In to Self

And he [Elijah] did eat and drink, and laid him down again (I Kings 19:6). Elijah was so tired from his ordeal. He had not only killed 450 prophets of Baal but an additional 400 more besides; the Bible tells us it’s so. Now therefore send, and gather to me all Israel unto mount Carmel, and the prophets of Baal four hundred and fifty, and the prophets of the groves four hundred, which eat at Jezebel’s table. And Elijah said unto them, Take the prophets of Baal; let not one of them escape. And they took them: and Elijah brought them down to the brook Kishon, and slew them there (I Kings 18:19,40). There was a total of 850 prophets killed that day, and that was a lot of blood.

Elijah was a great warrior; and although he didn’t know it, he was close to Rapture ground. However, all he could say was, “It’s enough, Lord; I just wish I could die!” When you choose to sit under the juniper tree, you get into such a condition that you feel it would be a relief if the Lord would just kill you. Now isn’t that ridiculous when the Bible says, The just shall live by faith (Romans 1:17)? The Lord wants you to live and work for Him. He saved you for a purpose.

Our Tree of Life

And the angel of the LORD came again the second time, and touched him [Elijah], and said, Arise and eat; because the journey is too great for thee (I Kings 19:7). The angel directed Elijah, and angels still direct people today.

And he [Elijah] arose, and did eat and drink, and went in the strength of that meat forty days and forty nights unto Horeb the mount of God (I Kings 19:8). Think about that! He journeyed for forty days with the strength from those two meals, and the Lord is ready to feed us strength from on High, too.

But after all that God had done for Elijah, he still ran from the devil. However, he didn’t have the Word or the teaching that we have available to us today. He didn’t live in an hour that the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us (John 1:14). Elijah didn’t have a savior because the Son of God hadn’t yet died on Calvary, but those who are under the juniper tree today have no excuse. We have Jesus, our Tree of Life; and man and woman were made to live under this tree. It supplies all the love, peace and joy of Heaven that we need. All the strength of Heaven is available through this one tree.

Adam and Eve had a tree of life in Eden that they could both see and touch, but today we must see Jesus through faith. We must behold Him and feel His holy presence through the Holy Ghost who lives and dwells on the inside of us. In comparison to what people in the Old Testament had, we’re really rich in Christ Jesus. We’re rich in His holiness and righteousness, and we can have the very image of God.

One Sin Ruined Everything

Adam and Eve had the image of God; but they lost that beautiful image, along with the tree of life and all of Heaven, because of just one sin. God warned Adam and Eve that the soul that sinneth shall die. But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die (Genesis 3:3). They were allowed to eat from any of the other trees, those that would keep them in the righteousness, the holiness and the love of God and pure like the Creator Himself. They had the tree of life that would have enabled them to live forever, to never be sick and to never cry. If Adam and Eve had not sinned, they would still be in Eden today; and their seed would now cover this earth. We would all live in Heaven right here on Earth, but one sin ruined it all.

Lucifer was the most beautiful angel God had ever made, and the Lord clothed him so gloriously that it would cost billions of dollars today to create just one of his outfits. Thou hast been in Eden the garden of God; every precious stone was thy covering, the sardius, topaz, and the diamond, the beryl, the onyx, and the jasper, the sapphire, the emerald, and the carbuncle, and gold: the workmanship of thy tabrets and of thy pipes was prepared in thee in the day that thou wast created (Ezekiel 28:13). God loved Lucifer; but because of one sin, He cast him out of Heaven. Thou wast upon the holy mountain of God; thou hast walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire. Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee (Ezekiel 28:14,15).

Jesus, the Light of Heaven

The devil no longer has any of the glory of God; but even when he did, he couldn’t compare to the glory of Jesus. God has allowed me to see Christ in His glorified state twice, and He’s dazzling. The sight will live with me for all eternity. I’ve never seen anything so beautiful or magnificent; and I was drawn in by such true love that I just wanted to behold Him forever and never turn away. My soul seemed to grow within until it was bigger than the whole me.

If you ever have that experience, you’ll know that He is truly the Lord of your life as the Bible declares. I am the rose of Sharon, and the lily of the valleys (Song of Solomon 2:1). I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star (Revelation 22:16).

Jesus is the light of Heaven, and His light shines through each child of God. We are God’s reflectors as we catch His light and shine it all over the world. The only way sinners can see Calvary is through the light that shines from Heaven through you and me. We must realize what a responsibility we have.

Know the Lord’s Voice

When Elijah arrived on Mt. Horeb, he had finally made it to the place where God needed him to be so He could work with him. And he [Elijah] came thither unto a cave, and lodged there; And he [the Lord] said, Go forth, and stand upon the mount before the LORD. And, behold, the LORD passed by, and a great and strong wind rent the mountains, and brake in pieces the rocks before the LORD; but the LORD was not in the wind: and after the wind an earthquake; but the LORD was not in the earthquake: And after the earthquake a fire; but the LORD was not in the fire: and after the fire a still small voice (I Kings 19:9,11,12).

Elijah was used to listening to that still, small voice; and the Lord has brought me to the place where I’m used to it, too. The Lord’s voice can be as loud as thunder, but He usually speaks in just a still, small voice with such sacred holiness that there are no adjectives to describe it. The Lord will reason with us in that still, small voice if we’ll go to Him in living faith and love.

And it was so, when Elijah heard it [the still, small voice], that he wrapped his face in his mantle, and went out, and stood in the entering in of the cave. And, behold, there came a voice unto him, and said, What doest thou here, Elijah? And he said, I have been very jealous for the LORD God of hosts: because the children of Israel have forsaken thy covenant, thrown down thine altars, and slain thy prophets with the sword; and I, even I only, am left; and they seek my life, to take it away. And the LORD said unto him…Yet I have left me seven thousand in Israel, all the knees which have not bowed unto Baal, and every mouth which hath not kissed him (I Kings 19:13-15,18). Elijah had thought that he was alone, but God let him know that he was mistaken.

God Used Elijah

Elijah was a great prophet of God who had heard the voice of the Lord many times in the past. At one time, he had stood before Ahab and said, As the LORD God of Israel liveth, before whom I stand, there shall not be dew nor rain these years, but according to my word (I Kings 17:1). I can just imagine the smirk of unbelief that must have been on Ahab’s face when he heard those words, but Elijah just ignored him and went on his way. That’s exactly what we have to do with unbelievers: just give them the Word, God’s truth in love, and then it’s up to them what they do with it.

To make contact with people in love, you have to use great tact; and if you feel that you’re lacking wisdom in any situation, then ask God for it. If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him (James 1:5).

The words Elijah had spoken to Ahab came to pass, and it didn’t rain for three-and-a-half years. But then at his word, the rain came. Elijah told his servant to tell Ahab to prepare thy chariot, and get thee down, that the rain stop thee not. And it came to pass in the mean while, that the heaven was black with clouds and wind, and there was a great rain. And Ahab rode, and went to Jezreel. And the hand of the LORD was on Elijah; and he girded up his loins, and ran before Ahab to the entrance of Jezreel (I Kings 18:44-46).

God Will Provide

During those years of no rain, the Lord provided for Elijah. He went and did according unto the word of the LORD: for he went and dwelt by the brook Cherith, that is before Jordan. And the ravens brought him bread and flesh in the morning, and bread and flesh in the evening; and he drank of the brook (I Kings 17:5,6).

Later the brook dried up, but the Lord still watched out for Elijah. And the word of the LORD came unto him, saying, Arise, get thee to Zarephath, which belongeth to Zidon, and dwell there: behold, I have commanded a widow woman there to sustain thee. So he arose and went to Zarephath (I Kings 17:8-10). Elijah obeyed the Lord not knowing that God was going to use him to bring about a marvelous miracle.

When Elijah arrived, he found the widow woman and her son; but he realized that they were starving when he asked for some food. Bring me, I pray thee, a morsel of bread in thine hand. And she said, As the LORD thy God liveth, I have not a cake, but an handful of meal in a barrel, and a little oil in a cruse: and, behold, I am gathering two sticks, that I may go in and dress it for me and my son, that we may eat it, and die. And Elijah said unto her, Fear not; go and do as thou hast said: but make me thereof a little cake first, and bring it unto me, and after make for thee and for thy son. For thus saith the LORD God of Israel, The barrel of meal shall not waste, neither shall the cruse of oil fail, until the day that the LORD sendeth rain upon the earth. And she went and did according to the saying of Elijah: and she, and he, and her house, did eat many days. And the barrel of meal wasted not, neither did the cruse of oil fail, according to the word of the LORD, which he spake by Elijah (I Kings 17:11-16). What a marvelous miracle of supply!

Abundant Life

When you make God a cake first, He will supply your need. Jesus said, I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly (John 10:10). Jesus brought us all the life that was in Eden and more. He brought abundant life, which includes all the power we need to make the devil run.

When troubles come, don’t flee into the wilderness and sit under a juniper tree. Climb the mount of God, Mount Calvary. Mount Calvary brings victory for everything you need because there you’re justified in the eyes of God and made holy like Him. Then you’re invited to come boldly before the throne of grace while you’re right here on Earth because you’re close enough to Heaven to do it. Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need (Hebrews 4:16).

God has just one throne in Heaven today, and the blood has made it so close that we can come boldly before it with no fear.

The Early Church disciples were persecuted so greatly that they prayed for holy boldness and received it, and we must pray for holy boldness, too. And now, Lord, behold their threatenings: and grant unto thy servants, that with all boldness they may speak thy word, By stretching forth thine hand to heal; and that signs and wonders may be done by the name of thy holy child Jesus. And when they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled together; and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they spake the word of God with boldness (Acts 4:29-31). It’s not enough just to have the promises and the power of God; we have to use them.

No Blessings under the Juniper Tree

While Elijah was sitting under the juniper tree, he wasn’t using what he had from God. Instead, he found only despair, discouragement, weakness and doubt. God told me that when His children are under the juniper tree, they forget His precious promises just as Elijah did. It’s dangerous to be under the juniper tree where the devil uses depression and oppression to trap many Christians; this causes them to talk doubt instead of faith.

There’s nothing desirable under that tree for you; there’s no true fellowship with the Lord and none of the life that He has ordained for you to have. Jesus came Himself and brought the tree of life; and it enabled Paul to say, I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me (Galatians 2:20). When you get saved, you’re given eternal life; and even in Heaven, you’ll never have more eternal life than you have right now.

God enables His children to sit in heavenly places with Him. And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus (Ephesians 2:6). I love those heavenly places, and the Lord lifts me up into them again and again and allows me to see many of my tomorrows. He lifted me up into an amazing heavenly place in 1954 and showed me things to come. We’re in the final hour, and those things that the Lord revealed to me are happening now.

Don’t Allow Oppression

We can have so much through God, yet many people choose to sit under the juniper tree in the wilderness of despair and depression. The Bible tells us that Jesus went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him (Acts 10:38). There’s a difference between devil oppression and devil possession. Only those who belong to the devil can be devil possessed, and they’re on their way to hell. But Christians, although not devil possessed, can become oppressed in their minds. When we get saved, our souls are sealed by the Holy Ghost with the divine blood that Jesus spilled on Calvary.

Christ’s mind wasn’t sealed when He was on Earth or the devil wouldn’t have been able to torment Him in the wilderness. The devil tried Jesus in every way, hoping that He would bow to him. Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil. And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was afterward an hungered. And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread. But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God (Matthew 4:1-4).

The devil knew that Jesus was just flesh at that time, so he continued his torment. Then the devil taketh him up into the holy city, and setteth him on a pinnacle of the temple, And saith unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning thee: and in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone. Jesus said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God (Matthew 4:5-7). The devil was reasoning to himself, “If Jesus casts Himself down, He’ll commit suicide; then the plan of redemption will be ruined.” But the devil didn’t win; the Second Adam was more than a match for him.

Defeat the Devil with the Word

Jesus didn’t argue with the devil; He gave him the Word. That was one of the greatest lessons the Lord taught us when He was here on Earth, that we can defeat the devil with the blood-Word because every scripture is given through divine blood. With that blood, we have all power to overcome the devil; and with His blood stripes we have deliverance from all sickness and disease. But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed (Isaiah 53:5).

Under the juniper tree, Elijah forgot about all of God’s power that was available to him and all the strength he had had to kill the prophets of Baal. Think about the thousands of devils that must have been in all of those prophets, and Elijah had defeated them all!

But Elijah had become weary and overwhelmed with the stench of blood and death, and he allowed fear to enter his mind. He no longer thought about how he had been more than a conqueror through the great I-Am. Even after he came out from under the juniper tree and got to the mount, he still wasn’t thinking right. And, behold, the word of the LORD came to him, and he said unto him, What doest thou here, Elijah? And he said, I have been very jealous for the LORD God of hosts: for the children of Israel have forsaken thy covenant, thrown down thine altars, and slain thy prophets with the sword; and I, even I only, am left; and they seek my life, to take it away (I Kings 19:9,10).

Don’t Leave Victory Behind

When people are under the juniper tree, they dwell on all the wrong things. They think things that are absolutely not true; and even when I tell them so, they won’t accept it. They’re under the juniper tree, saith the Lord, rather than climbing the Mount of God.

Elijah had the victory, but then he ran off and left it. How many times have you done that? How many times have you pitied yourself or allowed the devil to bring you other such thoughts? You must remember that God’s thoughts are higher than your thoughts. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts (Isaiah 55:9). But you won’t see His higher ways until you get to the Mount of God. You’ll remain in the wilderness under the juniper tree, and that’s not a tree of life but one of discouragement.

The devil had Elijah on the run, and many today are running from the devil, too. They’re bound with fear that hinders them from praying, fasting and living in the Word like they should; and then the devil can outtalk them. I’m determined that the devil will never find me running from him; I want him to run from me. The Bible says, Resist the devil, and he will flee from you (James 4:7). Resist him with the Word of God and put him to flight. When the disciples finally went to the Upper Room and received the fullness of the Holy Ghost and the whole truth of the Gospel, the devil was no longer able to make them run from him. Instead, they ran with the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and they boldly went forth to preach.

Let God’s Light Shine

God’s children must be able to discern the spirits—know how to separate the Spirit of God, the spirit of man and the spirit of the devil through the power of the Holy Ghost. But it’s impossible to discern when you’re under the juniper tree, saith the Lord. When you can’t separate the spirits, the devil can really fool you. He’ll make you think you’re hearing the voice of God when you’re not or that you’re hearing the voice of an angel when it’s one of the devil’s angels. Yes, the devil has angels, too.

All is dark under the juniper tree. When you allow the devil to get your attention, he’ll take you away from the essential fellowship of Jesus Christ. The light of Heaven will no longer shine on your path to show you the footprints of Jesus, and you won’t see the light of the divine promises even though each one contains all the love of God.

The entire land of Canaan was promised to the Israelite people, but the Lord told them they would have to put their foot on it. No one can claim even one of God’s promises until they meet its condition. Joshua lived in the promises and had the light of God; but if he had been under the juniper tree, the walls of Jericho would never have tumbled down.

The Lord told Joshua to have the people start marching around the walls; and although many of them were under the juniper tree, Joshua didn’t let that discourage him. He kept those people marching until they were ready for God to move. And it came to pass at the seventh time, when the priests blew with the trumpets, Joshua said unto the people, Shout; for the LORD hath given you the city. So the people shouted when the priests blew with the trumpets: and it came to pass, when the people heard the sound of the trumpet, and the people shouted with a great shout, that the wall fell down flat, so that the people went up into the city, every man straight before him, and they took the city (Joshua 6:16,20). When the Israelites finally moved out from under the juniper tree, God could move for them; and the walls of Jericho are still down to this day.

Divine Protection

Look at Elijah on the mount of God where he finally saw Heaven’s light again. The winds blew hard enough to break rocks apart, but Elijah was safe in the cave (Jesus). Fire ran upon the ground, and then an earthquake came; but he knew God wasn’t in them. He could discern the spirit of the devil, and he wasn’t afraid. The Lord can do that for you, too, when you’re under the tree of life; you’ll find divine calmness there and all the powers of Heaven. Jesus is our protection in time of storm; He’s our Ark of safety and supply in which we will one day sail to Heaven on that one flight out!

The book of Genesis opens with the tree of life; but it closes with death, a man nailed in a coffin and buried with no physical way out. It wasn’t until thousands of years later that the spikes were driven into the Son of God’s flesh as He was nailed to the Old Rugged Cross. But that great act of love will one day remove the nails from all the caskets of those who died in the Lord; death will no longer hold them.

When the trumpet sounds on Rapture Day, the dead in Christ will rise first. For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord (I Thessalonians 4:16,17). Jesus will bring their souls with Him as Paul said, and their souls and their bodies will be reunited. The book of Revelation closes with Christ and His Bride enjoying eternal life in Heaven with God, and all is well!

David on the Mount of God

David proved to us that, on the Mount of God, we can depend on divine strength. He was a man after God’s own heart. He raised up unto them David to be their king; to whom also he gave testimony, and said, I have found David the son of Jesse, a man after mine own heart, which shall fulfil all my will (Acts 13:22).

In his youth, David never lived in the wilderness under the juniper tree as his brothers did. He lived on the Mount of God. As a young shepherd boy, David went after a bear and a lion and killed them with his slingshot because they had taken a lamb from his flock. And David said unto Saul, Thy servant kept his father’s sheep, and there came a lion, and a bear, and took a lamb out of the flock: And I went out after him, and smote him, and delivered it out of his mouth: and when he arose against me, I caught him by his beard, and smote him, and slew him (I Samuel 17:34,35).

Later, David found himself standing before Goliath because Saul and the entire Israelite army were scared to death. But to David, that giant looked no bigger than the bear or the lion had because he was standing under the tree of life. And all the men of Israel, when they saw the man, fled from him, and were sore afraid (I Samuel 17:24). They should have recognized Goliath to be like the fire that Elijah had come in contact with after he had climbed the mount of God. Elijah had recognized that it wasn’t the fire of God, but Saul and his army were under the juniper tree.

Defeated by Faith

When David stopped by the battlefield that day, he had no idea that he would be the one to bring about victory over the enemy. But let me remind you again that David was on the Mount of God. Thy servant slew both the lion and the bear: and this uncircumcised Philistine shall be as one of them, seeing he hath defied the armies of the living God. David said moreover, The LORD that delivered me out of the paw of the lion, and out of the paw of the bear, he will deliver me out of the hand of this Philistine (I Samuel 17:36,37).

I’m sure that Goliath was shocked to see a young lad coming toward him with just a slingshot, but David was used to depending on God. He stopped by the brook and picked up five smooth stones, representing J-E-S-U-S; and that was all he needed. And it came to pass, when the Philistine arose, and came and drew nigh to meet David, that David hasted, and ran toward the army to meet the Philistine. And David put his hand in his bag, and took thence a stone, and slang it, and smote the Philistine in his forehead, that the stone sunk into his forehead; and he fell upon his face to the earth. So David prevailed over the Philistine with a sling and with a stone, and smote the Philistine, and slew him (I Samuel 17:48-50).

You don’t need all of Jesus to get victory; just one little piece of Him can defeat any Goliath that comes against you.

Healing on the Mount

No human mind could have ever thought that such a victory over Goliath was possible; but the Lord’s thoughts are higher than our thoughts, and we must take His thoughts daily. No one can receive them or accept them under the juniper tree; but they’re always available under the tree of life, under the wings of Jesus Christ. He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler (Psalm 91:4). The Bible also says that Jesus brought healing. But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings (Malachi 4:2). Don’t let the devil frighten you with sicknesses and diseases; just snuggle up under the Lord’s wings of healing and know you’re going to get well.

I know what God can do because I faced death at the age of twenty-three. My body had gone down to nearly a skeleton, and my eyes were sunk way back into my head. I knew I didn’t have long, but Jesus came one night with healing in His wings and gave me life! I didn’t care if I ever went to sleep that night; I just wanted to tell the world that I had been made whole. My life was overrun with God’s goodness and mercy, and I had no more pain. Now I live on the mount of God, and Jesus is always with me to lift me up into heavenly places with Him.

God Only Moves on the Mount

Elijah wasn’t under the juniper tree when God used him to perform miracles, and we won’t have miracles living under the juniper tree, either. The juniper tree only exists in the wilderness; you’ll never find it on the mountain peaks of God’s victorious Calvary. That mount reaches all the way to the throne of God, and it brings only victory!

Moses wasn’t under the juniper tree when he told Pharaoh to let his people go, and we can’t be there, either, when we’re commanding the devil to let captives go. Although he doesn’t want to let go, the devil and his demons have no choice; they have to turn the people loose, and the Lord lets me see them running like defeated armies.

After the Israelites had reached Canaan, Moses sent twelve men to spy out the land. Ten of them had the spirit of the wilderness and were living under the juniper tree. But the other two, Joshua and Caleb, were not in the wilderness; they had gone into the land of Canaan both physically and spiritually. They were living under the tree of life, and they were ready to accept all the promises of God and defeat any giants in their way.

Caleb believed the promise that his people would one day return to that land, so he walked around a whole mountain and claimed it for himself and his family—and he got it. Moses had promised that it would be his inheritance: And Moses sware on that day, saying, Surely the land whereon thy feet have trodden shall be thine inheritance, and thy children’s for ever, because thou hast wholly followed the LORD my God (Joshua 14:9). And that promise was fulfilled. Now therefore give me [Caleb] this mountain, whereof the LORD spake in that day; for thou heardest in that day how the Anakims were there, and that the cities were great and fenced: if so be the LORD will be with me, then I shall be able to drive them out, as the LORD said. And Joshua blessed him, and gave unto Caleb the son of Jephunneh Hebron for an inheritance (Joshua 14:12,13).

Live under the Blood

Get out of the wilderness and out from under that juniper tree and get under the miraculous tree of life. When you’re under that tree, people will be drawn to you because they’ll see God’s miracles.

Don’t hide away as Adam tried to do. And the LORD God called unto Adam, and said unto him, Where art thou? And he said, I heard thy voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked; and I hid myself (Genesis 3:9,10). The only place we should hide is under the divine blood. Oh, Lord, hide us in the blood until all danger passes by. Hide us in the blood where we’ll be strong and renewed in the Holy Spirit by God’s grace.

During Paul’s ministry, he was tormented by a thorn in the flesh, an angel of the devil that followed him everywhere and stirred up the people against him. He knew the Lord could deliver him, and he besought Him three different times to do so. But the Lord said, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me (II Corinthians 12:9). Paul never asked the Lord to deliver him from that devil again; he continued preaching and teaching the Gospel, and he overcame by the Blood of the Lamb.

Desire to Work for the Lord

We must all take a lesson from Elijah. The Lord told me that, under the juniper tree, Elijah’s ears were clogged, and his eyes became dim; and people who hide in the wilderness today are in the same condition. Elijah didn’t feel like he had the strength to climb the mount of God, but God gave him divine strength because He wasn’t through with Elijah’s life. Some people may feel old and want to die, but God needs people to live and work for Him. Look to the Lord, the One who gives eternal life, and live!

Elijah was chosen by God, and God had brought him to the mount; and he would have missed his glorious Rapture if God had killed him at his request. Also, after accepting what God had said on the mount, the Lord used Elijah to anoint two men to become kings and another to be a prophet in his place. And the LORD said unto him [Elijah], Go, return on thy way to the wilderness of Damascus: and when thou comest, anoint Hazael to be king over Syria: And Jehu the son of Nimshi shalt thou anoint to be king over Israel: and Elisha the son of Shaphat of Abelmeholah shalt thou anoint to be prophet in thy room (I Kings 19:15,16). God’s timing is always perfect.

Chosen of God

After Elijah had left the wilderness, he never went back to the juniper tree again. He faced many enemies and trials, but he did so with the mantle of God’s grace and power. With that mantle, he anointed Elisha to be the prophet in his stead; and Elisha was the right one chosen by God. He left everything behind to join Elijah, and he never let him out of his sight for one minute until the day the Lord took him home.

Elijah knew he was going to be raptured just as sure as we know that we’ll soon be going home. We’re saying farewell to this old world and getting ready for the promised return of the Lord. Blessed are those servants, whom the lord when he cometh shall find watching: verily I say unto you, that he shall gird himself, and make them to sit down to meat, and will come forth and serve them (Luke 12:37). We must be found watching with Heaven’s clear vision.

In this last hour, we must hear what the Spirit is saying and use the Word of the living God to trample devils underfoot. Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you (Luke 10:19). Then we read in the book of Revelation that they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony (Revelation 12:11). What scriptures of victory!

The Mantle of Power

Again, Elijah used the mantle. And they two stood by Jordan. And Elijah took his mantle, and wrapped it together, and smote the waters, and they were divided hither and thither, so that they two went over on dry ground (II Kings 2:7,8). Elijah and Elisha stood in the middle of Jordan, which is actually a symbol of death; but Elijah was never going to die. He had the life of Lord God Almighty within him, and the man who had wanted to die now knew that he would live forever!

Elisha was going to take Elijah’s place; and as they walked along together, Elijah asked, “What do you want from me?” And Elisha said, I pray thee, let a double portion of thy spirit be upon me. And he said, Thou hast asked a hard thing: nevertheless, if thou see me when I am taken from thee, it shall be so unto thee; but if not, it shall not be so (II Kings 2:9,10). What a beautiful desire Elisha had—to do greater things for the Lord!

Elijah with the mantle is a type of Jesus Christ, and Elisha is a type of the Bride. Jesus said that the Bride would do greater works, too. Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father (John 14:12). We’re doing those works now just like Jesus said because we have His mantle of power. We must use that mantle, Bride of Christ, in this final hour!

Rapture Ground

As they left Jordan, the waters closed in again, and Elisha may have looked back and wondered how he would get back across the river; but he didn’t let that sidetrack him. He continued on with his eyes on Elijah. And it came to pass, as they still went on, and talked, that, behold, there appeared a chariot of fire, and horses of fire, and parted them both asunder; and Elijah went up by a whirlwind into heaven. And Elisha saw it, and he cried, My father, my father, the chariot of Israel, and the horsemen thereof. And he saw him no more: and he took hold of his own clothes, and rent them in two pieces (II Kings 2:11,12).

It took the fire of Heaven to take Elijah to Heaven, and it’ll take the fire of the Holy Ghost for us to go when the Rapture takes place. There’s no way to get to Heaven without dying unless you have the fire of the Holy Ghost, saith the Lord; and He promised to give the Holy Ghost to all who obey Him. And we are his witnesses of these things; and so is also the Holy Ghost, whom God hath given to them that obey him (Acts 5:32). Only the obedient will avoid facing death.

Elisha watched Elijah until he was out of sight; and years later the disciples (the Bride) watched Jesus (the Groom) ascend from the top of the mount. Two angels stood by saying, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven (Acts 1:11).

Elisha was so carried away with the sight that he forgot about Elijah’s mantle for the moment. But as soon as he remembered it, he looked up and saw something floating down from above. No doubt, he recognized it as Elijah’s mantle when it got close to him; and he reached out with arms of love and faith and hugged it to his heart. He knew without a doubt that he had the double portion just like we must know without a doubt that we also have that double portion. He took up also the mantle of Elijah that fell from him, and went back, and stood by the bank of Jordan; And he took the mantle of Elijah that fell from him, and smote the waters, and said, Where is the LORD God of Elijah? and when he also had smitten the waters, they parted hither and thither: and Elisha went over (II Kings 2:13,14).

Behold, the Bride

No double portion is available in the wilderness! Who is this that cometh up from the wilderness, leaning upon her beloved [Lord] (Song of Solomon 8:5)? It’s the Bride of Christ, and the Groom adores her. Thou art all fair, my love; there is no spot in thee (Song of Solomon 4:7). She’s pure and holy like God Himself. That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish (Ephesians 5:27).

The Bride is being prepared to meet her Groom, and she is complete in Jesus Christ. We who are members of the bridal company must have ears to hear the prophecies rolling forth and eyes to see them all being fulfilled. The only thing we lack now is bringing in the harvest, and we’re busy doing that. We’re always working for the Lord because the end-time harvest must be brought in. Then on that happy day we’ll hear, Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him (Matthew 25:6).

What a hallelujah time it will be as we go up to meet Jesus and our loved ones in the air. As we look upon His face He’ll say, “Come on; I’m taking you to the Father.” We’ll sweep through that great gate of pearl, walk down the avenue paved with gold and bow before the glorious throne of God. With our hands in the hand of Jesus, He will present His beautiful Bride to the Father saying, “Here she is without spot, wrinkle or blemish. You’ve made her so beautiful just for me, dear precious Father!”

Come Out of the Wilderness

Where are you today? If you’re under that juniper tree, it’s moving time. The juniper tree wasn’t put in the wilderness so you could take shelter under it; the Tree of Life is where you’ll find your shelter. In Jesus is where you’ll find divine love, divine joy, divine peace, divine gentleness, divine goodness, divine endurance and divine patience. So come to Jesus and find life.

Look up no matter what you’re going through. Live pure, clean and holy before God and never turn back. He’s drawing on you to move ever onward; and if you don’t have Jesus, come to Him now while you still have time. When God rises up and puts on His robe of judgment, unimaginable terror and devastation will fall on the earth. The tormentors of God’s people will experience horrors beyond imagination as God rains down judgment. Where will you be?

If you need to get right with the Lord, pray this prayer right now:

Oh, God, I don’t want to go to hell. Save my soul! I’m so sorry that I have sinned against you; but I have come home, and I’m going to serve you, Lord, the rest of my life. I believe that Jesus died for me and that His blood washes away all of my sins. Now, I will live for Him. Come into my heart, Jesus! Come in!

If you meant that prayer, you now can say, Hallelujah! He has come. Hallelujah! He is my Savior and my Redeemer.

Receive a Miracle

Now that your soul has become pure and holy, you can have whatever you need from above. My God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:19). If you have a great need for healing, the miracle of supply is yours through the two-fold atonement of Jesus Christ.

Jesus, I come with your holy power that cures all deadly diseases. You came and conquered death, hell and the grave; and you have all power. I curse AIDS, HIV, diabetes, heart trouble, lung trouble, leprosy, cancer, strokes and all deformities. Heal and deliver the people now in the all-powerful, blood-name of Jesus!

Thus saith the Lord, reach up and touch me now; I’m within your reach. Feel my presence and be healed; feel my presence and be delivered; feel my presence and know that you’re set free. Get rid of all of your diseases and afflictions and be made whole as I will it to be! That is my divine will for you, saith the Lord. Come out from under the juniper tree; come out of the wilderness and into the sunlight of my glory and enjoy the new life that my Son brought to you, saith the Lord.
