The Holy Sacrifice

I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service (Romans 12:1). In this scripture, notice the word “holy.” God said, Be ye holy; for I am holy (I Peter 1:16); yet people say no one can live free from sin. Well, if you can’t, you will go to hell because all sinful hearts will go to hell.
The Bible says, The soul that sinneth, it shall die (Ezekiel 18:4). God said that to the first man and woman He made, and it has been the same message with God for over 6000 years. And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die (Genesis 2:16,17).
Next, notice the words “reasonable service.” The Bible tells us that every word God speaks is with power, and I weigh every word of His. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God (Romans 12:2). When you give yourself to the things of God, you prove what God will accept; but so many people do not know the perfect will of God. True children of God should reveal the perfect will of God all the time by the way they live.
A Sacrifice of Thanksgiving
There are many ways to sacrifice unto the Lord. Jonah said, I will sacrifice unto thee with the voice of thanksgiving (Jonah 2:9). Before he said that, Jonah had been running from God; and a whale had swallowed him. Now the Lord had prepared a great fish to swallow up Jonah. And Jonah was in the belly of the fish three days and three nights (Jonah 1:17). There he was in the belly of the whale with seaweed wrapped around his neck, and what a stench that must have been; but under those severe circumstances, Jonah said he would sacrifice with a voice of thanksgiving. It takes a sacrificial spirit to give thanks unto the Lord; and at that time, Jonah had it. He knew there was no other way of escape but through God, so he said, I will pay that that I have vowed. Salvation is of the LORD. And the LORD spake unto the fish, and it vomited out Jonah upon the dry land (Jonah 2:9,10). If Jonah had not said those words, God might not have delivered him from the whale.
God wants you to know that when you sacrifice with the voice of thanksgiving, the Lord will be on your side and ready to help you, to bless you and to strengthen you.
When you make a sacrificial prayer unto the Lord, you must praise Him and tell Him that you know He always hears you without any doubt. Jesus would always close His prayer with, Father, I thank thee that thou hast heard me. And I knew that thou hearest me always (John 11:41,42).
You do not need to search for the Lord but instead say, I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me (Galatians 2:20). God said that He would walk inside of His people. For ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people (II Corinthians 6:16). God walked outside of Adam and Eve as one man with another, but He walks inside those of us who are serving Him in holiness and righteousness.
Bow to God’s Will
If you do not stay wide-awake and sacrifice, you will be asleep when the Lord wants you to use you. I never sleep when God wants me awake no matter how tired I am. God took me to that awful night in the Garden of Gethsemane when the disciples were supposed to have stayed awake with Jesus and sacrificed with prayer. It was the worst night Jesus had ever had on Earth; and He called to the disciples more than one time saying, Couldest not thou watch one hour (Mark 14:37)? Finally, He gave up and said, Sleep on now, and take your rest: it is enough, the hour is come; behold, the Son of man is betrayed into the hands of sinners (Mark 14:41). I feel so sorry for Jesus when I read how they treated Him.
You will find the will of God when you sacrifice your whole self unto the Lord, and you will have no misgivings. I know the will of God for my life, and I know in whom I have believed. Like the Apostle Paul, I can say that I know I am going to be all right because I have committed everything into God’s hands; and that is what you must do. For I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day (II Timothy 1:12).
During that last night in the Garden, the disciples were tired; and Jesus was tired, too, but He was still praising the Father. He was so tortured that His sweat became as blood. And being in an agony he [Jesus] prayed more earnestly: and his sweat was as it were great drops of blood falling down to the ground (Luke 22:44). Jesus made the supreme sacrifice that night for us.
Gethsemane was just as cruel as Calvary because Jesus suffered so much. He had taken our sins and sicknesses; and it became so bad that He said, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done (Luke 22:42). That is how much Jesus suffered; but still He hurried on to say, “Not my will, but thine be done.”
Do you have that sacrificial spirit? I always say, “Lord, thy will be done.” In my darkest valley after the Lord had taken my precious wife, Angel, home, I said, “Lord, thy will be done.” I still want that in life and nothing less. I have no life of my own; I have given it all to the Lord. He has first choice of each minute, each hour and each day.
Benefits of Fasting
Jesus is our example. Other human beings may fail, but Jesus did not fail; He came and became our big brother. He was already God-man, but then He became a human man. And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross (Philippians 2:8). Jesus had divine blood in His veins instead of physical blood, and that made the difference. Now, He has made it possible for us to have that same divine blood in our souls.
Jesus came under subjection to all the weaknesses that we have; but His grace is sufficient for us, so you must praise Him. How do you keep that praise?—through prayer, fasting and living in the Word. Jesus said, This kind [this miracle kind] can come forth by nothing, but by prayer and fasting (Mark 9:29); and we are called to fast. Paul said he was in fastings often (II Corinthians 11:27). This ministry never would be what it is today without much fasting. Many fasts have gone forty days at a time in order to bring about the greatness of I-Am that people see in every service.
There are no signs and wonders in many churches today because the people do not fast, pray, seek God and live in the Word. They don’t really move and have their being through the Lord, and they are not directed by the Holy Spirit Himself living and dwelling on the inside.
If you are fasting for the things of God that Jesus brought—divinity—then your fast will be successful. Jesus said, Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled (Matthew 5:6).
Drink plenty of water on your fast, and God will look out for you. I used to have trouble drinking water on a long fast, and I would get to the place where I just couldn’t take it. Then one day, the Lord came to me Himself and told me, “When you are fasting, think about drinking from the River of Life.” He also said to trust in and eat the Word of God. Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God (Matthew 4:4).
That changed me completely. Now, on long fasts, I can be hungry; but I just drink and fill up with water. Then I dine on the Word, and it is like I have had a full meal. It was astounding to me; but I believe anything God tells me, even before I prove it to myself. God said it; I believe it, and that settles it.
People may talk about wanting the will of God, but you have to be as holy as God is and really seek His divine will. You don’t need somebody else to find the will of God for you. Just sacrifice in prayers, fastings and living in the Word; and you will know God’s will for you. That is what I did when God called me to preach, and I have never for one moment doubted my calling.
First Love
In the Word of God, we find something that many people do not sacrifice with; and that is first love. In one of the letters Jesus dictated to John the Revelator for the seven churches, He said, Unto the angel of the church of Ephesus write; These things saith he that holdeth the seven stars in his right hand, who walketh in the midst of the seven golden candlesticks (Revelation 2:1). Have you ever stopped to think about what the golden candlesticks are? The Lord identified them to be the spiritual Church. Jesus goes on to say, I know thy works, and thy labour, and thy patience, and how thou canst not bear them which are evil [You must live free from sin.]: and thou hast tried them which say they are apostles, and are not, and hast found them liars: And hast borne, and hast patience, and for my name’s sake hast laboured, and hast not fainted [or failed] (Revelation 2:2,3).
Jesus gave it to that church straight, and He let the hammer fall on them. Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love (Revelation 2:4). “First love” is Calvary’s love. Jesus paid the blood price on Calvary; He sacrificed all that we might have all.
Never Fight the Spirit
Many people do not have first love, and there is such a falling away of the churches today. The Lord said this hour would not come until there would be a great falling away. Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition (II Thessalonians 2:3). This falling away is happening not only among non-Pentecostals but also in Pentecostal organizations. I never thought it could be; but today, some of them allow speaking and praying in tongues at will and even prophesying at will. God wants me to warn people that those things are of the flesh and not of Him. When people keep speaking in tongues at will, the devil gets in and takes over; and that makes people doubt the greatness of the power of God.
The devil does everything he can to turn people away from the wonderful baptism in the Holy Spirit. People live the way they want to and do whatever they want to do. Then they speak in a tongue; but it is not a tongue of the Holy Ghost, saith the Lord. It is awful to hear people just jabbering when they are claiming to be speaking in tongues.
Remember this: When the Holy Ghost speaks, He is saying something. When people receive the real baptism like the disciples did on the Day of Pentecost, the Holy Ghost is the one who gives the utterance. They were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance (Acts 2:4). They were filled to the brim and began to speak in tongues, not as the human spirit but as the Holy Spirit gave the utterance. They were using a holy, sanctified tongue and a holy heart and brain.
Follow God’s Way
Those who have fallen away from the things of God love the world. They gather together, but there are no miracles. If God is with you and you have His favor, there will be miracles. Gideon wanted to know, Oh my Lord, if the LORD be with us, why then is all this befallen us? and where be all his miracles which our fathers told us of (Judges 6:13)?
Today, where are the miracles like those that took place in the beginning of the Church? If churches today will have the same salvation, the same baptism in the Holy Ghost, the same power, the same divinity and the same fruits of the Spirit, they will have miracles and healings.
We had fantastic miracles in our home. My daddy, my mother and my two oldest sisters had faith in God. At one time, they had attended a church that was against speaking in tongues and against the power of God; and that church did not have great miracles. But when they found real, Bible Pentecost, they found people with first love, divine faith, divine trust in God, divine hope, divine humility, divine tenderness and goodness. They learned to trust God in unbelievable ways, and they really sacrificed. You were subject to hear them praying and seeking God at any time of the day or night.
Jesus Is the Way
Jesus gave everything so we could have Heaven. The Bible says He made Himself poor so that He could make us rich in the greatness of God, and we are made rich through His unbelievable sacrifices. For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich (II Corinthians 8:9). The Lord paid for everything we need. He brought all divinity from Heaven; so the table is spread for you, and you don’t have to come up lacking.
Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me (John 14:6). He also said, Learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls (Matthew 11:29).
There is no other way to be free but through Jesus Christ. Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved (Acts 4:12). There is no other foundation besides Jesus Christ, and that foundation has been laid. For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ (I Corinthians 3:11). Thus saith the Lord, if you build on any other foundation, it is just sinking sand.
Give Praises to God
How much do you sacrifice to praise the Lord? If you don’t praise Him, you will give yourself over to grumbling and complaining; and the Lord cannot use you. Give yourself over to praise; and the Bible tells us, Let everything that hath breath praise the LORD. Praise ye the LORD (Psalm 150:6). In some churches, you never hear a hallelujah or a shout of any kind; but at Grace Cathedral, you will always hear praises and hallelujahs going up to God. We are here to praise the Lord, and we are full of praise.
There were ten lepers who came to Jesus, and He healed them and sent them on their way. He looked for them to come back, but how many returned? And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, and with a loud voice glorified God, And fell down on his face at his feet, giving him thanks: and he was a Samaritan. And Jesus answering said, Were there not ten cleansed? but where are the nine (Luke 17:15-17)? What a spirit of ingratitude they had that just one came back, but I believe with all of my heart that Jesus made that one completely whole because he had sacrificed to go back to praise the Lord. The others were anxious to go on their way and do what they wanted to do because they didn’t have the first love they needed.
We have the praise cure; and the Bible says, Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new (II Corinthians 5:17). Jesus brought a new life called the new and living way. Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus, By a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh (Hebrews 10:19,20). Think about how easy it was for you to praise God when the ton of sin that was upon you was rolled away.
Work through Love
Let’s go back to the church at Ephesus in the book of Revelation. Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works (Revelation 2:5). The people were doing great works, but the Lord told me they were doing them through responsibility. Are you doing God’s works through responsibility? His divine responsibility goes with first love, but human responsibility does not.
You should never work for the Lord because you feel obligated to do it; you should do it because you love the Lord with all of your heart, all of your strength and all of your soul. Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment (Mark 12:30). When you tithe and give to God, do it through love. When you go to church, go through love.
Jesus continued His instructions to that church. I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent (Revelation 2:5). He was saying, “I will take the spiritual Church—not a building but the spiritual blessings that I paid for—out of your reach.”
Love Brings Power
You sacrifice with the voice of love, your first love; and that carries the power of His anointing. That is the only voice the Lord is really going to hear to bless you in the way He wants to bless you, saith the Lord. I want God to bless you in this final hour because I want us to reach millions of people who will accept the whole Word of God.
Jesus told the disciples they would receive power, but they would have to go back to Jerusalem and tarry there until they received it. And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high (Luke 24:49). That power brings praise, and the disciples were continually sacrificing with the voice of praise. They could have been just talking and feeling lonely because they had watched Jesus ascend out of sight, but they had realized He was the very Christ. He had stayed with them for forty days after He had been resurrected to teach them about the Holy Ghost and what it would mean to receive that power from On High.
Jesus had proved to the disciples that as very man, they could have mighty blessings of power from On High. But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth (Acts 1:8).
The Lord makes witnesses, and so many people are supposed to be His witnesses; but they are not. We are supposed to be walking, living epistles. Ye are our epistle written in our hearts, known and read of all men: Forasmuch as ye are manifestly declared to be the epistle of Christ ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tables of stone, but in fleshy tables of the heart (II Corinthians 3:2,3).
Sacrifice with Love
If you do not sacrifice in divine love and have that first love when you pray, you will be speaking only to yourself or into the air. Those prayers do not sound good to Heaven but are like sounding brass or a tinkling symbol. I have heard such voices again and again, and they are not for real. Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity [love], I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal (I Corinthians 13:1).
This love chapter goes on to say that we are nothing without the love of God. And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing (I Corinthians 13:2). We are absolutely worthless to Heaven without divine love, and there is such a little bit of love in the world today. We as God’s people must give ourselves to love, and then we will have plenty of love to give out. The more love we give to others, the more it multiplies. Love is like that, and the Bible tells us that God’s love multiplies. Mercy unto you, and peace, and love, be multiplied (Jude 1:2).
Live in Grace
We sacrifice with grace, and the Bible teaches us to go from grace to grace. And of his fulness have all we received, and grace for grace (John 1:16). Grace is God’s favor; and we go from favor to favor, not from favor to disfavor. We go from grace to obedience, grace to faith, grace to healings, grace to miracles and grace to strength.
Paul sought the Lord three times to do away with the devil’s angel that followed him everywhere he went and caused great trouble; but the Lord said, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness (II Corinthians 12:9).
Paul went on to say, Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ’s sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong (II Corinthians 12:9,10). I always remember that grace was sufficient for Paul.
When you sacrifice in grace, the Lord said it will bring His knowledge to you. But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ (II Peter 3:18). He also said that God’s favor is great power. And with great power gave the apostles witness of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus: and great grace was upon them all (Acts 4:33). God’s grace is the greatest power of Heaven, and we can call on the Lord and reach Him at any time.
Grace takes away all weaknesses. The Bible says, Let the weak say, I am strong (Joel 3:10). We are strong in the Lord, and Ephesians says we are to put on the whole armor of God. Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil (Ephesians 6:11).
Paul had so much knowledge from Heaven, and he told us about God’s armor. Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God (Ephesians 6:13-17).
Check yourself often to see if you have on the whole armor of God, and make sure you have it all on before you face each day.
Use Divine Faith
We sacrifice with the voice of divine faith. The Lord let me know that many people sacrifice with the voice of their own human faith, but God does not promise you anything through human faith. Jesus brought all the divinity we need, and it is powerful.
The Bible says that we cannot please God without His divine faith. But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him (Hebrews 11:6). When you walk in divine faith, the Lord said you sacrifice in His faith in living reality.
The Bible tells us to go from faith to faith. For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith (Romans 1:17). I never go from faith to doubt, but many people do.
Jesus said a believer will lay hands on you, and you will get well. And these signs shall follow them that believe…they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover (Mark 16:17,18). I have laid hands on people who have declared they know I am a believer; but when they had another pain, they would not sacrifice with the voice of thanksgiving like Jonah did.
Faith is so important; and the Bible says, God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith (Romans 12:3). You may say, “But I don’t have any faith.” Then you don’t have salvation either. You cannot live in your feelings; you must praise God with a voice of sacrificial offering unto Him through first love and grace with all the favor of God. That faith is living reality.
One of the nine gifts of the Spirit is the gift of faith, and one of the nine fruits of the Spirit is the fruit of faith. It is a divine fruit, and it has to be produced in your soul; but first, the soul has to be cleansed with the blood. There cannot be one speck of sin in your soul for the fruits to be manifested.
Jesus said, Ye shall know them by their fruits (Matthew 7:16); yet people will say, “The Bible says to judge not.” On Earth, we know a pear tree because it has pears on it; and you don’t have to be a judge to know that a person with crab apples is a crabby, ungodly person who is not ready for Heaven.
Perfection through Faith
The Lord said in the Sermon on the Mount, Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect (Matthew 5:48). We sacrifice with first love and divine faith; and when we don’t think we have enough faith, we sacrifice with divine hope. Hope speaks of tomorrow saying, “Cheer up, Child of God. Tomorrow you will go into divine faith, and everything will be all right.”
Jesus always called human faith “little faith”; but He said if you have faith as a grain of mustard seed—and some say that is the smallest seed on Earth—you will say to the mountains, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you (Matthew 17:20). Some of you go by your feelings and try to shovel the mountains away, but you will just wear yourself out.
My mama used to say, “You had better be getting up your faith; the devil is going to try you.” So I say to you today that you had better get up your faith because the devil will try us again and again. However, we know that we have the whole loaf from Heaven. Jesus said, I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live forever: and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world (John 6:51). Jesus is our bread, healing for the children of God; and it is always on the table for us. The table is spread; so hear the Lord say, Come and dine (John 21:12).
Pray through the Blood
Your prayers can be answered, but you don’t have to beg God; just praise Him. Prayer should be at least ninety-nine percent praise. You don’t want your children to have to beg you for things; you want them to have confidence in you so that they will ask for the right things in the wisdom and knowledge you have taught them. My mom and dad never lied to us. When they said they would do something, they did it. If they promised us a new pair of shoes, we knew we would get them, even in the Days of Depression when we did not get many new things.
God wants you to sacrifice and give Him all the praise for the divine blood. He tells me that it is Heaven’s greatest weapon for people here on Earth, and the Bible tells us we can resist the devil with the blood. Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you (James 4:7). When you spray the devil with the blood, he will run from you. You know how to use spray to kill insects, and it is the same principle when you spray the divine blood.
I never waste the blood, and I use it on everyone I pray for. The Bible tells us that with the Lord’s divine blood we are healed. But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed (Isaiah 53:5). Jesus went to the whipping post and paid for our healing. Peter believed it; and he said, By whose stripes ye were healed (I Peter 2:24). That means it is already yours.
Never ask for only a crumb if you are a child of God. However, if you are not a child of God, you can ask for a crumb; and if you mean it, He will give it to you just like He did to the Syrophenician woman. Her daughter was vexed with devils, so she went to Jesus. The Lord knew she was not saved; and He said, It is not meet to take the children’s bread, and to cast it to dogs. And she said, Truth, Lord: yet the dogs eat of the crumbs which fall from their masters’ table. Then Jesus answered and said unto her, O woman, great is thy faith: be it unto thee even as thou wilt. And her daughter was made whole from that very hour (Matthew 15:26-28). The bread was for the children of God; but the woman placed herself down with the dogs, and the Lord said, “Your daughter is delivered.” When the woman got home, her daughter was healed and in her right mind; those devils had gone out.
I use the blood, and devils go out of people. I use the blood, and I can look into people’s souls and see the devils that bind them. The Lord taught me demonology. I have spent thousands of hours in His presence, and He took me into the kingdom of the devil. He prepared me to go all over the world, and I meet devil possession in every nation; but I put the devils to flight with the blood, and you can do the same thing.
Divine Hope for Tomorrow
You sacrifice with divine hope, and it has a wonderful voice when you sacrifice with it. Divine hope takes you into faith, one of the nine fruits of the Holy Spirit. Then you no longer sacrifice with hope because you have the evidence of it. Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen (Hebrews 11:1). Hope brings courage for tomorrow, courage to use faith; and you praise God with divine courage.
I went to death’s door at twenty-three, and I watched my body go down to about a skeleton. My eyes looked like they had sunken inches back into my head; and when I looked into the mirror, I just wanted to cry. I was starving to death; but if I ate, I would have such pain that I would just die deaths. I could not understand why the Lord would start preaching through me at eighteen; and then at just twenty-three, I was dying.
You can’t live by your feelings because when you are really sick, you cannot feel faith; and you will think your faith is gone. I thought my faith was all gone, and my hope was going, too. All I could see in a vision was that I was sinking in quicksand, and I was already up to my waist. I was getting worse as more of my organs were becoming afflicted, and I knew I only had a few more days to live. It was like I was in a room with no windows or doors, and I was going around and around trying to find a way out; but there was none.
Then one night, Jesus came and made me whole. He lingered to talk to me and told me, “Later, you will go on a long fast; and when you come out of that fast, you will have my power for the healing of the people.” I knew I was going to live, and I wanted to shout it from the mountaintops!
Wait on God
It is wonderful to use divinity and the promises of God. You have to sacrifice with the voice of thanksgiving through divinity in God’s waiting room. He said, They that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles (Isaiah 40:31). God let me know that most people do not go into His waiting room in their prayer life.
When you go to see a doctor, a lawyer or some other professional person, they have a waiting room; and you cannot expect to see the right person if you are in somebody else’s waiting room. The Lord told me that it is the same way with Him. You have to be in His waiting room with first love, divine faith and divine peace; and the Bride is welcome to be in His waiting room night and day. He never sleeps or even nods. Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep (Psalm 121:4).
You sacrifice with another fruit of the Spirit—divine longsuffering. Never let persecutions get you down. When you are really serving God and are right in His eyes, you have nothing to fear and nothing to worry about. The Lord said, Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness’ sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven (Matthew 5:10).
Some Christians are persecuted because their tongues are too long. They are forever hanging themselves, not with a rope but with their long tongues. When you have a long tongue, you cannot even get through the door of God’s waiting room.
You will be persecuted, but put your enemies under the blood; then you can sacrifice to the Lord in gladness. God said, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord (Romans 12:19).
Have Joy in the Lord
You can find so much rejoicing and praising in the Psalms; and the Psalmist said, The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in him, and I am helped: therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth; and with my song will I praise him (Psalm 28:7). The Bible also says, Rejoice evermore (I Thessalonians 5:16). The Lord said that if we do not have a rejoicing heart, we cannot rejoice and have it be for real.
The Psalmist said, Joy cometh in the morning (Psalm 30:5). Some Christians do not even realize that the morning came when Christ arrived, but the Bible says He is the Bright and Morning Star. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star (Revelation 22:16). Because He came, joy for every morning and night is ours.
Peter said it was joy unspeakable and full of glory (I Peter 1:8). The Bible also says, They offered great sacrifices, and rejoiced: for God had made them rejoice with great joy (Nehemiah 12:43). Jesus paid the price for us on Calvary; and the Lord let me know that when the darkness of sin left, the joy of Heaven became ours. Joy is a divine fruit of the Spirit that brings such strength. For the joy of the Lord is your strength (Nehemiah 8:10).
The angel came with great joy to announce the birth of Christ. And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord (Luke 2:10,11).
An angel also announced that Christ was going to be a child of the Holy Ghost, conceived in the womb of a virgin. And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with God. And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS. Then said Mary unto the angel, How shall this be, seeing I know not a man? And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God (Luke 1:30,31,34,35).
There are some so-called Christians who do not believe Jesus was born of a virgin; but if you don’t believe that, you will never see Heaven. Jesus said, I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture (John 10:9). He that entereth not by the door into the sheepfold, but climbeth up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber (John 10:1). There are no side doors to Heaven.
Joy in the Valley
When we have a heavy burden like that of losing a loved one, we will weep and cry; but deep inside we will have divine peace—a fruit of the Spirit that passeth all the understanding of the human mind. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). Only through divinity can you conceive that peace to be lasting peace.
When my wife, Angel, went home to Heaven, I thought I would never laugh again. I was as one who was dead, and I did not know how I could go on breathing without her. It is awful to love someone that much; but God had given her to me, and I realized He had the right to take her. Right after she had gone, He told me it was His divine will to have taken her; and He said that by taking her when He did, she would bring more souls into His Kingdom than if He had left her with me. Then He showed me the multitudes of souls we had won.
When Angel went home, I grieved, and I cried. I was in a million pieces, and only God could have put me back together again; but He did, and He made a better vessel out of me than I would have ever been. He made me to laugh again, and He gave me great joy when I thought it could never be.
You sacrifice with gentleness and goodness, and both are fruits of the Spirit. The Psalmist said, Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever (Psalm 23:6). You sacrifice with the voice of yielding, but some of you do not always yield to God; and if you do, you don’t do it with joy. I yield to Him in all things with great joy.
Humble Yourself before God
Another fruit of the Spirit is meekness, but it is hard for some people to forgive even their brothers and sisters. They will say, “Somebody hurt me,” or “Somebody said something about me.” Well, so what? That person is responsible for what he or she said or did, not you. God knows the way that you take. Job said, When he hath tried me, I shall come forth as gold (Job 23:10).
Job’s so-called comforters went to be with him, but they were not really comforters. They were ungodly people who said, “Job, you have sinned and brought this on yourself”; but Job thought, What then shall I do when God riseth up? and when he visiteth, what shall I answer him (Job 31:14)? Job was planning to tell God about his good works, about how he had blessed the poor and about how he had stood by the needy; but when God rose up, Job said, Behold, I am vile; what shall I answer thee? I will lay mine hand upon my mouth (Job 40:4).
It is marvelous to be in the very presence of God, but I am not one to question Him a lot. God said, Come now, and let us reason together (Isaiah 1:18). I let the Lord take over my mind, and He can reason with your mind, too, if you will yield your mind to Him and yield to the anointings that break the yoke of bondage of the human spirit. Then you can walk the waters like Jesus did.
You sacrifice with the fact that Jesus said to deny self; and another fruit of the Spirit, temperance, means to deny self. If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me (Matthew 16:24). You must have self under control, but self is the last person you will deny. You must deny self and give self to the Lord. Have you given yourself and your very life over to everything in the Word of God, or have you held something in reserve? Have you given yourself over to the holiness, righteousness and grace of God?
The Bible says that Enoch walked with God and pleased Him. And Enoch walked with God: and he was not; for God took him (Genesis 5:24). By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God (Hebrews 11:5).
Elijah’s Sacrifices
When you are in God’s waiting room with an obedient spirit, and you are sacrificing with obedience through prayers, fastings and living in the Word, you become an Elijah in the eyes of God. There had not been a true prophet in the land of Israel for years until Elijah came on the scene, and he really sacrificed.
Ahab, the most wicked king who had ever lived, was on the throne of Israel. He had married Jezebel, who was full of the devil; and she had brought Baal worship in among God’s people. Then Elijah stood before Ahab and said, As the LORD God of Israel liveth, before whom I stand, there shall not be dew nor rain these years, but according to my word (I Kings 17:1).
Ahab was used to hearing false prophets; so he thought, “Another false prophet has come to town.” However, Elijah wasn’t false, and you can read about the great sacrifice he had to make during that time of no rain. God told Elijah to go over by a certain brook where He knew there would be water, and the birds fed him there. And the word of the LORD came unto him [Elijah], saying, Get thee hence, and turn thee eastward, and hide thyself by the brook Cherith, that is before Jordan. And it shall be, that thou shalt drink of the brook; and I have commanded the ravens to feed thee there (I Kings 17:2-4). Birds brought Elijah meat, and he got along during that time of no rain in a wonderful way.
Never Run from the Devil
At one time, Elijah had killed 450 prophets of Baal; and Jezebel sent word that she was going to kill him. Elijah ran into the wilderness and fell under a juniper tree—and some of us have been there—and he was discouraged and praying to die. But Elijah was not going to die, and the Lord sent an angel to cook a hot meal for him. Then the angel stayed with Elijah and looked out for him. And as he [Elijah] lay and slept under a juniper tree, behold, then an angel touched him, and said unto him, Arise and eat. And he looked, and, behold, there was a cake baken on the coals, and a cruse of water at his head. And he did eat and drink, and laid him down again. And the angel of the LORD came again the second time, and touched him, and said, Arise and eat; because the journey is too great for thee. And he arose, and did eat and drink, and went in the strength of that meat forty days and forty nights unto Horeb the mount of God (I Kings 19:5-8).
Some people say Elijah was fasting during those forty days, but I believe he was living on heavenly manna; and that is the best food for strength you can find. Elijah was living through the grace of God, and the spirit of discernment was working through him. He was on the mount of God; and the Lord said, What doest thou here, Elijah? And he said, I have been very jealous for the LORD God of hosts: because the children of Israel have forsaken thy covenant, thrown down thine altars, and slain thy prophets with the sword; and I, even I only, am left; and they seek my life, to take it away (I Kings 19:13,14).
Elijah thought everybody had kissed the mouth of Baal; but the Lord said, Yet I have left me seven thousand in Israel, all the knees which have not bowed unto Baal, and every mouth which hath not kissed him (I Kings 19:18). Elijah had already prayed for God to take his life, but the Lord knows our hearts when they are right. He can work with a gentle heart because it will receive gentleness, and He can work with a believing heart because He furnishes it with faith. The Lord stirred up Elijah’s faith when He told him that 7000 people had not kissed the mouth of Baal.
The Gospel Must Go Forth
In Galatians, we find the fruits of the Spirit we have already touched on. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law (Galatians 5:22,23). All of these are divine—divine love, divine joy, divine peace, divine longsuffering or patience, divine gentleness, divine goodness, divine faith, divine meekness and divine temperance or self-control.
Some people say, “I just can’t control myself, and I lose my temper.” If you get real salvation, you will be able to control your temper. I had a ferocious temper before I got saved; but when the Lord really saved me, He showed me how to use that temper on the devil. That is why the Lord can use me to cast out devils. I believe everything God tells me, and He has made me strong in the power of His might.
We are taking the Gospel to the whole world in this final hour, and the devils have to let go; but only making holy and acceptable sacrifices unto God will do it. Do you have the vision of this end-time hour and of the soon-coming of the Lord? Do you have the vision of the judgments that are coming upon the Earth and pointing you to the end-time signs? Do you have the vision of, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature (Mark 16:15)?
Do you think I am going to the nations to give people a lifeless Gospel? No, I have given myself to preach the whole Gospel; and I have given myself to the promises of God, promises of miracles and healings. I give myself over to the Lord; and the blind get their sight, the deaf hear, and the dumb speak. Cripples are made to walk; people are healed of all manner of sicknesses and diseases, and the devil-possessed are set free.
Let Your Light Shine
I give myself over to the Gospel light, and those born into Satanism are delivered and immediately come into the light of the Gospel. The people which sat in darkness saw great light; and to them which sat in the region and shadow of death light is sprung up (Matthew 4:16). The Gospel light is the light of all lights on Earth, and it will light up the darkest corners of this sin-cursed world; and the Lord uses us as His reflectors. Have you given yourself to His light?
We have to give ourselves over to that love light, faith light and truth light, to the One, Jesus, who is the light of the world. I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life (John 8:12). By giving yourself over to the truth that Jesus gives you, you will be the light of the world. Ye are the light of the world…Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven (Matthew 5:14,16).
I hope this message the Lord gave to me for you will sink deep within you. Now, I pray the anointing of God down upon each one of you, the holy anointing to sacrifice in first love, in the peace that passeth all understanding and in the joy that came on a hill called Golgotha. Do you have all of this? It all belongs to you.
Give Yourself to God
Sinner Friend, the Lord gave this message for you. Lift up your hands right now and get saved because tomorrow may be too late. The Bible says to boast not thyself of tomorrow; for thou knowest not what a day may bring forth (Proverbs 27:1). You have no power over tomorrow and no lease on life, so pray with me now. Oh, God, I am so lost, but I don’t want to go to hell. I know, Jesus, you died for me, and I will live for you. You said if I would confess my sins, you would be faithful and just to forgive me of my sins; and you would cleanse me from every one. I am confessing all of my sins, and I do believe you have heard me. Now, I believe the blood of Jesus washes away all of my sins. Come into my heart, Jesus. Come on in, Jesus!
If you meant that prayer, Jesus is all yours. Now go on to the Upper Room and receive the Holy Ghost, power from On High. Sacrifice with all of your heart, with the voice of thanksgiving and with praise unto the Lord until the Holy Ghost comes in and takes over. You will be baptized just like the disciples were on the Day of Pentecost.
Expect Divine Healing
Now, I will pray for you who are sick and afflicted or you who have a baby who is afflicted or deformed. Many deformed babies have been healed through this Jesus ministry. Lord, here they are. So many multitudes have been delivered of all kinds of deadly diseases, including AIDS. Heal the people of AIDS, diabetes, heart trouble and lung trouble. You create, and you re-create. Cleanse all the lepers, and heal those who have had a stroke. Lord, you have made stroke victims whole before my very eyes; the paralysis left them, and they were normal once more. Oh, what my eyes have beheld! It is the glory of the Lord, and He gets all the praise. Heal! in the blood name of Jesus. Heal!
If you believe, the healing blood power is going through you. Now, you must keep on believing and live for God. Then write and tell me what happened to you today; I know it will certainly be good. God be with you.
