The Heart of God and the Human Heart Must Match
by Ernest Angley
November 2000
God made man to have the same heartbeat He had. Man, with the heartbeat of God, was going to live forever; he was never to have died. Although man would have always lived in a house of clay, there would have been no weaknesses in it, no death upon it, no sicknesses to have touched it. Man would have carried the same perfect faith, the same perfect love, the same perfect peace, the same perfect thoughts, the same perfect happiness, the same perfect everything of God because his heart would have beat with God’s heart. But man lost that incredible closeness. He gave over to the devil, took on the heartbeat of Lucifer. In such a state he no longer could have fellowship with God.
It had been a horrible day when the Lord had to drive Lucifer and the angels who followed him in sin out of Heaven. But it was even worse when He had to drive out of Eden the man and woman whom He loved dearly with all His heart. He had loved to communicate with them; He had delighted in them—until sin drove them out of Eden, out of His presence. The gate closed, and an angel with a flaming sword—an angel of judgment—guarded that gate to make sure Adam and Eve could not get back in.
Adam and Eve had never seen an angel of judgment. All they had ever seen was the hand of love, God’s love. All they had ever felt was the spirit of love, peace, joy, faith, and contentment…then they lost it all. The second Adam, Jesus, came to bring us back into all of this, and the Bride is taking on this greatness in an unbelievable way in this hour.
Be Ye Holy
For your heart to match with the heart of God, it must have the same great divine love. I Peter 1:16, Be ye holy; for I am holy. God will not let you join your heart to His unless your heart is holy. God is a holy God. He will accept nothing less than holiness.
Paul said, I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me (Galatians 2:20). Ask yourself if Christ really lives in you. Second Corinthians 5:17, Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. The new person has a new spiritual heart, new spiritual eyes, new spiritual ears. When you become a new creature, you can hear what the Spirit is saying. Born new, you’re not of the world. You’ve disconnected from the sinful world and plugged into the throne of God, plugged into God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Ghost. It’s a love walk, a faith walk, a trust walk, a peace walk, a grace walk, a wonderful walk. Following Christ is the only walk that will take you straight in through the gates of Glory.
Luke 6:45, A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good. It’s impossible to be a part of God’s heart and not be good. No one can be good unless God is in him. John 1:12, But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name. But as many as received Him, to them gave He power. He gave them what? Power to become the sons of God.
Study Jesus. How close to the Father was He? Did He and the Father have the same heartbeat? Did they have the same love, the same grace? Did they have the same thoughts, the same plans, the same walk? Did they have the same happiness, the same joy? Did they have the same everything? Yes, they did; they were one.
And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth (John 1:14). In the flesh you can be joined to the heart of God as long as you are full of His grace and truth: God’s grace; God’s truth. In God’s grace you have all the favor of God, and His truth tells you what the grace of God is. Draw from the grace of God. The Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us…full of grace and truth. The Bride will be full of grace and truth in this her final walk.
I John 3:1, Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not. You, as a son or daughter of God, cannot be joined to the heart of God if you are part of the world and the world a part of you. When you find Jesus, you become a stranger to the world, separate from the world, set apart from unrighteousness, unholiness, and ungodliness.
Jesus brought the new and living way, an Eden-way to live in us. We can have Heaven in our innermost being, an Eden on the inside as the Lord comes down to walk with us, and the Holy Spirit lives with us and in us. It’s a must for us to have the Holy Ghost living on the inside.
Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is (I John 3:2). Joined to the heart of God, we’re already like Jesus; but when He appears we’ll take on the same kind of glorified body that He had when He ascended back to Heaven after the Resurrection.
How can you be joined to the heart of God? In the Word is the foundation of the way the Early Church was joined to the Lord. The Church had to have that one heartbeat, the heartbeat of Heaven, the heartbeat of God, the heartbeat of Jesus, the heartbeat of the Holy Spirit. That unity came about when the Early Church was in one mind and one accord with the Lord. And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place (Acts 2:1).
The Mind of Christ
The Early Church took on the mind of Christ. Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus (Philippians 2:5). You must have the mind of Christ. In other words, the newly created mind. The mind that has been re-created must have all the ingredients that the mind of Christ had when He was here on Earth. Jesus—with divine blood in His veins—took on a human mind and a human body. He used the same power that is available to us today; nothing less, nothing more; and walked on this earth just like any other man. He ate; His food had to digest. He had to bathe His body; He had to care for His needs. He could feel pain just like we feel pain. Jesus must become real to you in His humanness as well as in His divinity.
The Bible tells us how Christ thought: His thoughts were true, honest, just, pure, lovely and of good report. Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things (Philippians 4:8). Christ used these six standards of thinking when He was here on Earth. They were His thought life. He didn’t think in the ways of the enemy; He didn’t think in the ways of the world. How wonderful and pure were His thoughts!
Wear the Love Bridle
Neither was guile found in his mouth (I Peter 2:22). There was no guile found in Jesus’ mouth, and there must be no guile found in ours. As sons or daughters of God, we don’t know all the talents we will have in Heaven, but we know we will be like Jesus.
Ephesians 4:29, Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers. This is the love language, the only language you should speak. You’ll never have the heartbeat of God unless you use the love language, and you won’t keep the heartbeat of God unless you speak the love language all the time.
Never let your speech slip out of control. Jesus made it possible for you to have the love bridle, to be in control of your speech. Your tongue can send you away from God or draw you to Him. James 3:2, If any man offend not in word, the same is a perfect man, and able also to bridle the whole body. If you don’t offend in your speech, you’re a perfect person before God. You have the perfect heartbeat of God, of Heaven, and of the Holy Spirit. You are one with Christ as He and the Father were one when He was here on Earth.
Jesus prayed for us to be one with Him and the Father. And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one: I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one (John 17:22,23). He said, Father, Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth (John 17:17). Sanctify means to make holy. Just as we are one, Jesus was saying to the Father, make them holy so that they can be one with us.
Ephesians 5:2, And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour. Don’t take a step outside love. Don’t come out of bed in the morning without the love bridle. Guard your mouth. It is vital to the Holy Spirit for you to keep your tongue pure, holy and clean because it’s the tongue He has to use. The Holy Spirit uses the tongue of the person to speak in different languages, and He wants to be able to take over the tongue at any time. In fact, you are not baptized in the Holy Ghost until He gets the tongue. But the tongue must be kept holy, pure and clean; and it will only be that way through the blood of Jesus. If you stay under the blood, you will walk in love.
To have the heartbeat of God is to speak the same as God speaks, to become His mouthpiece. When you have the heartbeat of God, your tongue is His, so much so that the Holy Spirit lives and dwells on the inside, and can use your tongue to speak in any language or dialect.
Although I have never studied another language, in many different languages and dialects the Holy Ghost has spoken through me. The Holy Ghost once preached a whole sermon in Hebrew through me, and I don’t know a line of Hebrew. In one service I prayed in the German tongue, and a little lady jumped up out of her seat, and ran down to tell me that it was her native tongue. It thrilled her, but when she got to me I couldn’t speak German to her. I know she never forgot that occasion; I haven’t forgotten it.
If you keep your tongue holy, you will have living reality of Heaven through the Holy Spirit. However, if the love language is not in your speech, you don’t have reality in the Holy Spirit. Without your wearing the love bridle, the Holy Spirit will be so busy condemning you that He can’t bless you. Condemnation is upon you from the Lord God Almighty; the judgment and disapproval of God are hanging over your head. But the Holy Spirit loves you, and is trying to draw you out of that shadow of condemnation, away from judgment. The Bible tells you your salvation is vain if you don’t have the love bridle. If any man among you seem to be religious, and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man’s religion is vain (James 1:26).
The heart that matches with God’s doesn’t get into fanaticism; God is never fanatical. Jesus came to lift people up, and we must lift them up, too. Lift them up with love, love, love.
Not being critical or judgmental, speak unto edification. Judge not, that ye be not judged (Matthew 7:1). Use love and leave the judging, the condemnation to God. Love is all you use if you have the heartbeat of God, saith the Lord.
Your heartbeat can’t be irregular and still match with God’s, for His heart never skips a beat. Many Christians have hearts that skip, spiritually speaking, as their speech goes into things that shouldn’t be said.
You’ll be judged for every idle word you speak. But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment. For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned (Matthew 12:36,37). Be careful what you say. If God is going to judge a mere idle word, think what judgment will fall on those who crush someone with poison darts of piercing words! The Bride will not destroy people with words. With great love she will win souls.
You who are filled with the Spirit today, you have learned to turn your tongue over to the Spirit; now yield to the Lord in this wonderful outpouring, and let the Lord use your mind more and more. Learn to turn your mind over to Him. It’s very simple when you come into it, but it’s one of the hardest things on this side of Heaven until you learn it.
The Bible tells us to walk in the Spirit (Galatians 5:25). Unless you walk in love, the Spirit won’t walk with you. When you don’t use love, the Holy Spirit is grieved. If you continue to grieve the Holy Spirit, He will leave you. Grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption (Ephesians 4:30).
Treasure the Value God Puts on the Tongue
In this last hour, the Bride will not offend with the tongue. People who speak hurtful words will find that the Holy Spirit will back away from them. He works with those He can use. The Holy Spirit cannot use you unless He can use the tongue.
On the day of Pentecost they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance (Acts 2:4). Recognize the Holy Spirit, the third person in the Trinity of the Godhead, in your life; and treasure the value that the Lord puts on the tongue.
Many people have wondered why God chose speaking in tongues as the first evidence of the baptism of the Holy Ghost. In Eden God put so much pride on the tongue that He gave man a voice, a tongue like His. Adam could talk just like God; their speech matched. There was no conflict, no misunderstanding between God and the man and woman He had made in Eden—in the beginning. The great God stepped down from His mighty throne to walk with the man and woman whom He had made out of clay. He placed a holy soul within them, a part of Himself. God didn’t make a hollow form; He gave man a soul like His, a soul that would never die.
In Galatians 2:20, Paul said, I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me. How does Christ live in you? Through divine blood applied to your soul. The life is in the blood. If you’re not blood washed, don’t have a born-again experience, then Christ does not dwell in you. It’s when you’re born new that you have life through divine blood, but you must live that life through love. The divine love, the divine peace, the divine grace in the blood matches with the heart of God; He delights when He can fellowship with divinity in the hearts of His children.
God will do anything for you when you have the same heartbeat as Jesus, the same love, the same thoughts, the same ears to hear, the same eyes to see. You see as He sees; you hear as He hears.
In the beginning chapters of Revelation, we find repeated seven different times, He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith (Revelation 2:7,11,17,29; 3:6,13,22). When something is repeated more than once in the Word of God, take particular note of it. To hear what the Spirit is saying means to have God ears and a God heart to go with them. There is no need to try, however, to have God ears and not have a God heart because without His heart you’re not going to obey Him.
John 14:23, Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him. When you have the heartbeat of God, He loves you just like He loved Jesus when Jesus was here on Earth. It was easy for Jesus to get a prayer through because He had the same heartbeat as the Father, the same love. Not once did He doubt the Father. When you have the same heartbeat, you never doubt the Father; you believe Him because He is living reality to you.
Jesus said, we will come—we: Jesus, the Father and the Holy Ghost. You have the whole Godhead living and dwelling in and with you when you are born again and baptized in the Holy Ghost.
Know Who You Are in God
Realize who and what you are in God. Jesus knew that He was the very Son of God; He knew His mission; He knew why He was born on Earth. If you’re still wondering why you were born, then you haven’t found your place in the Lord.
I don’t wonder why I was born. I know I was born to help people, to serve, to preach the Gospel and to take the Gospel to the world in this final hour. Obey the Lord and let the goal of your life be to reach everyone you can with the Gospel. The world must hear about Jesus.
Remember this statement: The blood is to be as powerful in you, in the human heart, as it was in the heart of Jesus. We’re one in Christ with the same power that was in Him when He walked among men.
When a person dies, he loses everything physically; and when a person dies spiritually, he loses everything of Heaven. Adam and Eve died spiritually. The Lord told them if they ate of the fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil, they would die. And they did die. They died to all the favor of God, to all the grace of God; they died to the greatness of God, and they died to the life of God. Their hearts, spiritually speaking, stopped beating. Did they ever get back to God? The Bible doesn’t tell us.
You don’t have a sound heartbeat today if it’s not in harmony with God’s heartbeat; you don’t have the kind of heartbeat He wills you to have. Move in closer and closer to God until you have the same heartbeat He gave to Adam and Eve in the beginning. Jesus will hold you to His bosom in times of sorrow, in times of heartache. He will dry your tears again and again when you have the same heartbeat. Always He will be present. I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee (Hebrews 13:5). Lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world (Matthew 28:20). He cannot be with you all the way unless you have His heartbeat.
The Bride Is Different
What makes the Bride different from others? The heart of God, the love of God. Doesn’t the Bible say that God is love? God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him (I John 4:16).
Romans 13:14, Put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ. What does that mean? Put on His love, His peace, His endurance, His longsuffering, His goodness, and His mercy. Put on Christ; put on the tenderness of Him. Put on Christ and you have all that He used when He was here. That’s what is meant by putting on Christ: You use everything He used. With the same heartbeat Jesus had when He was here on Earth, you can put on the Lord. Jesus had, in a physical body, the heartbeat of God.
The Lord is bringing the Bride into the reality of walking and talking with Him. She will wear her veil of consecration and dedication every moment she is awake, a dedication that the world will see. They won’t like it, won’t appreciate it, for she will be a testimony against them on the great Judgment Day.
As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him (Colossians 2:6). Unless you have the same heartbeat, you won’t walk as Jesus walked. Don’t imitate Him; be like Him. Don’t mimic the Lord in speech; talk the love language, and He will answer you back the same way.
Avoid the Works of the Flesh
Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God (Galatians 5:19-21). If you have any grudges, ill feelings, rebellion, resentment, if you have any of the works of the flesh mentioned in Galatians, you do not have the heartbeat of God or the fruit of that heartbeat. There are nine fruits of the Spirit that come from the heart of God. The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law (Galatians 5:22,23). Study the works of the flesh and the fruits of the Spirit in Galatians; learn them; know what they mean, what to avoid and what to use.
Put On the Holy Ghost
When you put on Christ, the fullness of Him, you put on not only salvation, you put on the Holy Ghost. Now when all the people were baptized, it came to pass, that Jesus also being baptized, and praying, the heaven was opened, And the Holy Ghost descended in a bodily shape like a dove upon him, and a voice came from heaven, which said, Thou art my beloved Son; in thee I am well pleased (Luke 3:21,22). Jesus, as man, received the Holy Ghost before He began His ministry; and before His followers began the Early Church, He commanded them to go back to Jerusalem and tarry there until they were endued with power from On High. Jesus commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, saith he, ye have heard of me. For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence (Acts 1:4,5). They were not to try to start His Church without power. His Church would be started with the heart of God, and operated through the power of God.
Jesus said, These signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues…they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover (Mark 16:17,18). Signs of power will follow believers. In the name of Jesus believers will make the devils come right out of the devil possessed, people who cannot deliver themselves. Believers will lay hands on the sick with hands like the hands of Jesus, hands that will have the same power, the same effect. Believers will touch the eyes of the blind, and they will see. Believers will command the crippled to walk, and they will walk.
The Destiny of Liars Is Hell
In the beginning of the Church of Jesus Christ, each member took his or her place, or they were cast out. A man and his wife brought in a seed of deceit. Had it been allowed to remain, it would have grown until it destroyed the Church; but it wasn’t allowed. But a certain man named Ananias, with Sapphira his wife, sold a possession, And kept back part of the price, his wife also being privy to it, and brought a certain part, and laid it at the apostles’ feet. But Peter said, Ananias, why hath Satan filled thine heart to lie to the Holy Ghost, and to keep back part of the price of the land? Whiles it remained, was it not thine own? and after it was sold, was it not in thine own power? why hast thou conceived this thing in thine heart? thou hast not lied unto men, but unto God. And Ananias hearing these words fell down, and gave up the ghost: And it was about the space of three hours after, when his wife, not knowing what was done, came in. And Peter answered unto her, Tell me whether ye sold the land for so much? And she said, Yea, for so much. Then Peter said unto her, How is it that ye have agreed together to tempt the Spirit of the Lord? behold, the feet of them which have buried thy husband are at the door, and shall carry thee out. Then fell she down straightway at his feet, and yielded up the ghost: and the young men came in, and found her dead, and, carrying her forth, buried her by her husband (Acts 5:1-5,7-10). The Holy Ghost killed Ananias and his wife for telling one lie; they were deceived like some people are today who lie and still claim to be a Christian.
The Bible tells us that all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone (Revelation 21:8). There isn’t such a thing as a “white” lie. All lying, black and dirty as the devil himself, comes from the devil. There are no white lies, and no pink ones or purple ones either; classifying lies will not excuse them. You can’t lie and expect it to be hidden from God. There’s no hiding place except in salvation through the blood. Hide me in the blood! Hide me in the Word blood!
Study Jesus, go over His life again and again, and the Holy Spirit will help you to see things you never noticed before. One day the Lord began to tell me about forty qualities that made up the mind of Christ. I was dumbfounded. That much in the mind of Christ—and it all belonged to me and I had known it not! It all belongs to you, too. You’re rich; you have all you need to defeat the devil, to rebuke him, to resist him, to make him go. Don’t fear him.
You can bind the devil; Jesus did. You can bind his speech, you can bind his ways, and you can bind his presence. You can torture him with the blood of Jesus until he runs. Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you (James 4:7). Resist the devil with the blood.
Ephesians 4:24, And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness. Christ came as the brand-new Adam, the second Adam, the Adam who would not fail. He was God’s new man. In righteousness and true holiness He brought grace and truth. The Bible tells us in John 1:17, For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ. To put on the new man you have to put off the old one.
Be Ye Holy
Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God (Matthew 5:8). I Peter 1:15, But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation. God is holy; He called us to His holiness, for He has nothing less to call us to. God’s people are holy or else they’re not God’s people. God’s holiness is pure, clean; and it takes care of the soul. God looketh on the heart. The LORD seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the LORD looketh on the heart (I Samuel 16:7).
So be ye holy in all manner of conversation. Oh consistency, thou art a jewel! Be consistent in holiness; have a holy conversation all the time. How can you know that your conversation is holy? Can God take part in it? Would you change a few words? Feel and see if you have the heartbeat of God. Is it in rhythm with the Word? Is it pumping love or hate, life or death? What is it pumping? If your heart is pumping goodness, mercy, righteousness and holiness, then you have the heart of God.
It may seem impossible to be holy, to have the heartbeat of God, but it isn’t impossible at all. The Lord gave Adam five physical senses; and five physical senses were all the senses he would ever have needed had he not sinned. In Eden, Adam had the heartbeat of God with those five physical senses because he was holy, and the five physical senses were holy. Adam lived in Eden as if it were Heaven—Eden was like Heaven. The Lord had given His own divine blood to man so that man could resist the devil. God didn’t want man to be like a zombie. He had made man to have free choice, and how could man have free choice if he had nothing to choose between? That’s the reason God allowed the devil to talk to His man and woman, but He made them strong enough to say no. The devil has no power unless man allows him to have that power.
God gave Adam and Eve all the beautiful fruit they could ever use; everything was in abundance. Eat of all the fruit of this heavenly garden, He told them. I made it with my own hands, with my own love for you. Only this one tree…you cannot eat of its fruit. If you do, you’ll die.
In spite of the warning, Adam and Eve ate the forbidden fruit, and they lost the heartbeat of God. Losing the heartbeat of God brings spiritual death. You don’t know whether or not you will be resurrected again, whether spiritual life will come back to you. When a person’s heart stops beating, sometimes the doctors are able to get it started again, but then there comes a time when nothing can be done. There comes a time spiritually when even God can’t start your heart again; He has given you the kiss of death. How sad for people to be eternally lost!
Because he had sinned, man was driven outside Eden. Outside Eden, man had ears to listen to the devil, eyes to see the things of sin and ungodliness. As the years passed, and sin took a stronger and stronger hold in the hearts of men, the Lord drowned all but eight souls in the attempt to wipe out sin. But soon sin started all over again with the same old things man’s senses had been contaminated with.
Adam and Eve needed five physical senses in Eden, but now outside of Eden, all five senses were dead to the heartbeat of God, and the five physical senses as we know them were given to mankind. Contaminated now, degraded were man’s hearing, sight, taste, touch and smell.
Jesus came to make it possible that although we would be in the world, we need not be a part of the world. To live in this world as devout children of God, we would have to have something extra: six spiritual senses to go with the five physical senses made new when received salvation.
The Lord did everything He could to give man His love, His deliverance, and His heartbeat. His heart that yearns for humanity will be given to the children of God for all eternity. What love, what privileges will be ours in Heaven as we come before the mighty throne of God! We will be welcome to talk to our Father face to face anytime; He’ll always be available.
With the six spiritual senses, you see, hear, believe like Jesus; you’re a part of Jesus, His hands, His voice. You become bone of His bone, flesh of His flesh. You are a member of the body of Jesus Christ, a son or daughter of God. The thoughts of God are yours as you yield to Him; the wisdom, the faith, and the love of God. All the greatness of God belongs to you. You may count yourself small and insignificant, but you’re God’s little lamb and all of these advantages are yours.
God delights when your heart beats like Adam and Eve’s hearts in the very beginning. He rejoiced when those hearts started beating. God rejoiced when Adam’s eyes opened and he looked into His face. Man could look into the face of God in Eden.
The Lord Let Me Know Why He Took Angel
One time I had the privilege to talk with the Lord. It’s one of the rarest privileges anyone can have. To understand all about your life, to see the way you’ve come, to know how the Lord walked with you all the way is wonderful. After my wife, Angel’s, death, I had many questions. In 1954 I had been visited by God, sent on a divine mission. I thought Angel would always be with me, and suddenly she was gone. I couldn’t believe it. God didn’t tell me she would be with me all the way. He had tried to tell me that she would not be; but I didn’t accept it, I wouldn’t accept it. Now she was gone, and there was a mission to be fulfilled—or was it going to be fulfilled? What had happened? What had taken place?
Not long after she had gone, as I was crying my heart out, the Lord came to me in the night, visited with me, lingered with me for I don’t know how long. He answered every question I asked Him. We talked like one human being would talk to another. It was like I had been in a deep, deep canyon of life, dark, dark; and then He turned on the lights of Heaven to show me how He had brought me, the way I had come. He let me know why He had taken Angel, how she would bring more souls into the Kingdom by His taking her when He did. He let me know that her death was planned. The shadow of death was over our wedding; her homegoing had been planned from the beginning. God had given her the desire to live only so long. Thirteen years before she died, she told someone in our church, “I just want to live thirteen more years.” That’s exactly how much longer she lived.
One day, a few weeks before her death as we were sitting outside the garage in our car, I looked at her and said, “Angel, you have finished with this world; I can tell.” She said, “The only reason I wouldn’t want to go is because of leaving you.” But there wasn’t that great life in those words as there had always been.
I said, “You’ve finished your work, and I’ll make you a promise: If God starts to take you, I won’t stand in your way.”
I had to face those words. “Oh my God,” I said, “I promised! I promised! I won’t ask you for her life—I promised her! I promised her!” Jesus had come to take her home, and she saw Him. Her eyes were like stars as she cried, “Jesus, let down the bridge and let me go across!” Three times she repeated those words. Well, the Lord decided to let down that bridge; He had anointed her to go with Him.
The Lord explained the reason for her death; He answered any question I asked Him, anything about my life. Just like a father would take his little boy on his knee and say, Ask me any question, Son; I’ll give you the answer, the Lord answered mine. I’ve never had to ask Him those questions again. The darkness was all gone; the canyon behind me lit up, and that’s the way it will be with you someday when you get to Heaven. The Lord will light up the path you have traveled to let you know the reasons you went the way you did. Desperately I needed that understanding when Angel died. With that understanding, I then was able to stand up taller than ever before, able to take on more strength, more heart because He had taken me into His heart, given me His thoughts, His knowledge of my life and the journey He had brought me. The heartbeat of God was mine, entirely mine. It was as though He had shut out the whole world, and I had all of His attention.
It’s marvelous to have all the attention of God; it’s love you can feel. In fact, every time we pray we should feel that we have all His attention.
The greatest soul-winning time that the world has ever witnessed will take place in this final hour. The love of the Holy Spirit will be poured out in amazing ways. The greatest strength, the greatest revelation of the blood, the greatest wisdom and knowledge from Heaven will pour down. God’s heartbeat will be reality for many as they receive the fullness of the Spirit: the baptism of the Holy Ghost. It’s a wonderful time for everyone to drink in the Word of God with understanding because of the wisdom and the knowledge that are being poured out. In unbelievable ways the Lord is moving with His greatness.
Match the heart of God as you believe in His plan of redemption, His plan of salvation. Believe the virgin birth: The Holy Ghost did overshadow Mary. If you have one doubt about the virgin birth, your heart will not beat with the heart of God. Unless you are in one accord with all that God has done, all that God has said He will do, all the prophecies past, present, and future, your heart will not beat in rhythm with His.
Only through His holiness can you one day in Heaven look into the face of God. Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord (Hebrews 12:14). When you are born new through divine blood, the Lord gives His holiness, His righteousness. He, I’m sure, receives the same thrill to see each newly blood-washed child of God that He had when the first Adam opened His eyes, recognized His maker, honored Him, and loved Him above everything else.
The Soul Can Hold All of Heaven
When you receive salvation, you love God better than you love anyone or anything else in the whole world. God is love, and His love takes you over. You find yourself loving God with rivers of love. In this final hour we must be God’s great channels through which His love will flow to a lost and dying world. He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water (John 7:38). From your innermost being shall flow rivers of love, tenderness, kindness. From the throne into your soul they flow.
The soul came from God; it can hold all of Heaven, can hold the whole Godhead; there’s no limit to the capacity of a soul. The mind, on the other hand, is of the earth, limited. When the Psalmist said, My cup runneth over (Psalm 23:5), he was referring to his mind. Your soul will never overflow; it’s the reservoir, holding all the greatness of God when you are born again. The Holy Ghost is there; you invited Him by choice to take over.
Keep your soul pure through the blood; don’t contaminate it. The soul has to be as pure as God Himself for the Holy Ghost to flow the things of God into the mind. Whatever you need, the Holy Ghost serves. He serves wisdom, knowledge and grace. The Lord told Paul, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness (II Corinthians 12:9). The Holy Ghost serves love: The love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us (Romans 5:5). It’s the Holy Ghost who flows the love of God into your mind. Where does He get it? From the soul; God’s love is in the soul of the born-new you.
God Works with the Holy
With His own hands, God got down into the clay and created the first man. Those holy hands molded clay that was holy. Whatever God takes over He makes holy. Moses was told, Put off thy shoes from off thy feet, for the place whereon thou standest is holy ground (Exodus 3:5). You may think you’re being used of God when you’re unholy, but not so. That’s the deceit of Lucifer. God can only use, can only handle that which is holy; and that’s the reason such a great price was paid on Calvary for us to be holy.
Out of the clay God created a man of intelligence, a man who would have the same heartbeat, the same love, the same peace, the same joy as He had. Adam didn’t have to go to school; he started out with all the answers, he even named all the animals. What an intelligent being God had made! Man had all the wisdom and knowledge he needed—until he sinned.
The struggle to gain knowledge, to be educated in such a short span of life was brought about because of sin; struggling to learn wasn’t God’s divine plan. Did you wonder why you hated some of those school days? In Heaven it will be different; we’ll have the source of all wisdom and knowledge, but even before we reach Heaven we can tap into that great knowledge.
Jesus Purchased the Church with His Blood
You can have the heartbeat, the mind of Jesus, and why not? Jesus had it, brought it, and gave it to all who would accept it. It’s all available in this final hour in the reality of the new and living life. Come into this great abundant life, saith the Lord. This is what Jesus talked about when He said, I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly (John 10:10). Not until the disciples received the Holy Ghost did they understand what Jesus meant. The things of God have to be revealed by the Spirit. After the disciples had received the Holy Ghost, their understanding became as clear as a light makes clear what is in a dark room. The darkness then penetrated, they had understanding instantly. They didn’t wait years for it; it came with the Holy Ghost. The Church was started then and there with the light of Heaven shining upon it, dispelling the shadows and darkness.
The Church started out in the world, but it was not a part of the world. Through the divine blood, the divine will, it was separated. Jesus had purchased the Church with His own blood, and the devil had no part in it. For the first thirty-three years the Lord kept His Church in the hollow of His hand.
Now in this last and final hour, the Church, the true Church, God’s holy Church, is coming into the hollow of God’s hands once again. It is being carefully schooled, receiving ultimate anointings from On High, and talents and the greatness of God. People who desire to do more for God will find the Lord increasing and enhancing their talents in this last hour. In His grace God has everything needed to penetrate the hard hearts of the world; His grace is sufficient. That great sign is still up: Whosoever will let him come!
You must have the same heartbeat as God. Put your hands over your heart right now and think of that hand pressed close to your heart as being the heart of God. That’s how close He is to you today, to you who really want Him, to you who are really yielding to Him.
Sinner, your heart is empty, and the Lord wants in. That emptiness, that lack you feel is because you don’t have Jesus.
Feel Him, Child of God; feel His heart beating, and feel yours beating in harmony with His. In love it’s the same heartbeat; in peace it’s the same heartbeat; in goodness, mercy, and forgiveness it’s the same heartbeat. In longsuffering, in patience it’s the same heartbeat.
If you need Jesus, pray with me now: Oh, God: Save my soul. Forgive me for all my sins. I’m sorry, Lord, that I sinned against you; but I have come home. I’m going to serve you the rest of my life. I believe the blood of Jesus washes away all of my sins. Come into my heart, Jesus! Come on in, Jesus!
If you meant that prayer, He has come. Start reading your Bible, praying, loving God and doing His will.
You who are sick and afflicted, get ready for the Lord to heal you. He is the Lord who healeth all thy diseases (Psalm 103:3). Oh, Lord, I bring the cancer patients, the heart patients, the crippled, the sick and afflicted, people with all manner of sicknesses and diseases, the little retarded children. I bring them all. In the name of Jesus I inject your power from your supernatural gifts of healing and your gift of miracles. Through the power of the Holy Ghost in the name of Jesus: Heal! Heal! in the holy name of the Lord.
Thus Saith the Lord
I am here, saith the Lord, I am nigh unto you. My precious blood has made you nigh. My precious blood in you has given you my heartbeat, my heartbeat. Take the reality of your Lord now, saith the Lord. Take the reality of thus saith the Lord, the Word of the living God. Take reality of the plan that God has for your life; your life as an individual person. Feel Him hugging you close, closer than anybody has ever been able to hug you. And you feel His very heartbeat for you. You feel your heart beat in rhythm with His for all that He wills you to do. You feel that great divine humility flowing, and all the rebellion and stubbornness missing. It’s all gone, it’s all gone.
My Spirit prayeth for thee, my Spirit prayeth for thee. I have brought you under the wings of my great love, and under my wings you have my protection, under my wings you have my direction, under my wings you have my strength. You have everything that you need furnished to you to do my holy work in this the final hour.
Feel my heartbeat, saith the Lord. I am drawing you close to my bosom and hugging you close in this great hour. I need you to bring in my harvest. Trust in my heart; not yours. Trust in my grace; not yours. Trust in my love; not yours. Trust in my faith; not yours. Trust in my spiritual senses; not yours. I am the Lord thy God, and I walk with this my people. I walk with this my own people, saith the Lord.
