The Gospel of Jesus Christ
by Ernest Angley
May 2002
The Gospel of Jesus Christ is the most treasured possession we could have. It’s life, grace, peace; it’s Heaven’s hope, joy, and happiness pouring rivers of greatness from the throne of God; it’s His great handkerchief that will wipe away all tears. The Book of all books shows you exactly how to make Heaven your home, how to walk the narrow, straight road. The Holy Spirit is there to direct you. No wonder Paul said he was not ashamed of the Gospel! Romans 1:15,16, So, as much as in me is, I am ready to preach the gospel to you that are at Rome also. For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.
I am not ashamed of the Gospel; I’m just ashamed of the way some people treat the Gospel, ashamed of the way it has been diluted. I’m ashamed of versions of God’s Word that omit important truths, but I am proud of the pure Gospel that Jesus brought.
Jesus said, This gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come (Matthew 24:14). What Gospel? The one Jesus brought, the blood Gospel. Do away with the divine blood and you have no Gospel, no salvation, no passport to Heaven. Do away with the blood and there is no way to be cleansed from sin. Do away with the blood and you can never be pure in heart or have fellowship with the Lord.
The Greatness of God Comes through the Blood
The devil has worked for years to take the blood out of the Gospel. Some churches won’t sing the blood songs. One large denomination a number of years ago recalled all their hymnals with the blood songs in them. No altar, no blood are characteristics of the world church; and the Lord has nothing to do with the world church. It’s in the churches that preach the greatness of the blood of Jesus that you find the true Gospel to set men, women, boys and girls free. It’s whosoever will, come to Jesus. Clean up from the world; be rid of sin and live holy and righteously.
I’m not ashamed of God’s holiness, but I’m ashamed of what some people call holiness. Many burdens and bondages have been put on people in the name of holiness. Bondage is not God’s holiness; God’s holiness is found in His Gospel.
Jesus brought righteousness; He made it possible for us to become the righteousness of God—that’s how holy the blood makes us. For he [God] hath made him [Jesus] to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him (II Corinthians 5:21). This Gospel makes it possible for us to live just like the One who brought it, just like the Man of Galilee. We can talk like Him, walk like Him, live like Him and be like Him, a son or daughter of God.
It’s the Gospel of the blood, the Gospel blood message that we’re preaching to the world in this final hour. We’re telling people they can be set free from sin and sickness; the devil possessed can be delivered through the blood of the Lamb. Jesus came to destroy all the works of the devil and He brought sinless blood to do it.
Jesus Cast Out Devils
I love the blood, I appreciate the blood, I adore the blood. I’m not ashamed of the blood; I love to tell people about the blood of Jesus. I don’t talk very long to people until I’m talking about the blood. All my crusades are blood crusades. I keep the blood before the people: That’s the reason so many thousands are delivered from devil possession.
Some people are ashamed of the Gospel of casting out devils; they call it fanaticism. Was Jesus a fanatic? He cast out devils with divine blood; the devils had to go. We have an army of young people, some once were on drugs and alcohol, devil-possessed. They’ve been set free through the blood of the Lamb, the blood Gospel.
Paul Refused to Compromise
Paul wasn’t ashamed of the Gospel although people tried to make him ashamed. They pointed to the way Jesus his leader died, but Paul was not ashamed of Jesus. He was ashamed of the way his people treated Jesus, ashamed of his people who crucified Jesus.
There was a time Paul wanted no part of Jesus, but then he didn’t know who Jesus was; he had no reality of the blood. Even though he knew the Law, he didn’t know divine blood, divine blood love, divine blood faith, divine blood compassion. He didn’t know about the divine blood that could make a person brand new.
Follow Jesus
Two brothers heard the voice of blood crying, “Drop your nets and follow me!” And Jesus, walking by the sea of Galilee, saw two brethren, Simon called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea: for they were fishers. And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men. And they straightway left their nets, and followed him (Matthew 4:18-20). That divine blood voice moved the fishermen to the extent that at once they left their nets to follow Jesus. The all-powerful blood brought them out of the world. Without divine blood they would have been helpless, but that divine blood gave them power, strength, and deliverance. It made them new creatures with a new life.
Some of the Old Testament prophets had insight into the Gospel, but they didn’t know enough to tell very much about it. Isaiah said that Jesus would be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace (Isaiah 9:6). Of course this was not nearly enough that people needed to know about Him, but he let people be aware that Jesus was coming.
John the Baptist found that blood; he preached the blood message. In those days came John the Baptist, preaching in the wilderness of Judaea, And saying, Repent ye: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand. For this is he that was spoken of by the prophet Esaias, saying, The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight (Matthew 3:1-3). John the Baptist was the blood voice in the wilderness, and the Bride is the blood voice in today’s wilderness, the loudest voice on planet Earth for God. Come to Jesus, come to Jesus! she cries. Whosoever will: Repent, confess your sins, and the divine blood of Jesus will wash them all away. It will be the same as if you had never committed a sin. You will be just as holy and wonderful as the first Adam whom God made.
The Chief of Sinners: Changed by the Blood
Paul was not ashamed of the Gospel when they put him in jail. Beaten, treated in various inhuman ways, Paul still glorified God. He spent many years in prison; he wrote more books of the Bible than anyone else, and he wasn’t ashamed of the Gospel.
No one ever held the Gospel higher than Paul. He held it so high that he gave it forth with no compromise just like Jesus had. The difference between the voice of Jesus and the voice of Paul after he surrendered all to the Lord was non-existent. Paul walked like Jesus, suffered persecution without complaining.
At one time he was stoned and left for dead, but Paul’s work wasn’t finished; God wasn’t ready for him to die. And there came thither certain Jews from Antioch and Iconium, who persuaded the people, and having stoned Paul, drew him out of the city, supposing he had been dead. Howbeit, as the disciples stood round about him, he rose up, and came into the city: and the next day he departed with Barnabas to Derbe (Acts 14:19,20). Paul lived to an old age and finished his work. The devil couldn’t kill him before his time.
Paul, so much like Jesus, is my favorite character in the Word of God next to Jesus Christ. However, he was cruel and ugly before he got saved. Paul himself admitted that he was the chief of sinners. This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief (I Timothy 1:15). But the blood made him beautiful.
Paul’s salvation gave me hope, and surely it will give you hope, too. The Lord used the life of Paul to bring me where I am in the Lord. I was a sinner, but I wasn’t the chief of sinners; I had never murdered anyone. Paul, degraded in sin, found Jesus, found the true Gospel. He found what he needed, something greater than the Law, and he loved to talk about it, to think about it.
Let the Blood Purge Your Mind
What do you love to think about? What are your thoughts? Do you have a lot of Gospel thoughts? I love the Gospel thoughts. When your mind is battled, go to the Word of God so full of heavenly thoughts, Jesus’ blood thoughts, that can cleanse and purge your mind in a most wonderful way. The mind is purged through the blood; the Holy Spirit uses the blood to flush your mind. Turn to the blood and the Holy Spirit.
Don’t let the devil feed your mind, let the Holy Spirit feed it, bring you the thoughts you need. Use those thoughts. Why sit around feeling helpless when the Bible tells you that the just shall live by faith (Romans 1:17)? Heaven’s victory is yours through the blood. Look to the power of God coming from above. Reach up and take armfuls on purpose.
You don’t have to be bound with anything. The devil may deceive you, make you think he can bind your mind; but he can’t do it if you turn that mind over to the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit will use the blood to flush out your mind and pour in good thoughts. Praise God forevermore!
Jesus said, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them (Mark 11:24). If you want Gospel answers from Heaven, pray the Gospel way through divine blood. Don’t beg, just ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find (Luke 11:9).
Some people are embarrassed if they hear someone say “Glory to God!” but they can go to a ball game, scream as though they’ve lost their mind—and think nothing of it. As for me, I’m going to praise the Lord. Jesus is my hallelujah and I’m not ashamed of Him.
It’s easy for me to praise the Lord; it’s a normal thing. How much have you praised and honored Him today? How much have you thought upon His Gospel? How valuable is the Gospel to you; what has it done for you? Has it really changed you, has it really made you a different person? Are you sure you’re on your way to Heaven, or can the devil make you doubt? Can the devil make you doubt the Lord is hearing your prayers, doubt that you belong to Him, doubt that you are a son or daughter of God? Check where you are in Him.
Use the Powerful Gospel
This Gospel is powerful; use it daily. The blood Gospel is the most powerful weapon that you can have; use it to resist the devil, and he will flee from you (James 4:7). Jesus said you could actually trample devils underfoot. Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you (Luke 10:19).
Why listen to the devil, why let him oppress and depress you? Why stay around people who talk like the devil? Get away from them! Look for people who talk the Gospel, the true Gospel of Jesus Christ; and you’ll grow, you’ll increase in the work of God, in doing His will, in doing His work.
The blood will of God is powerful. Jesus brought the blood will. Whosoever will, let him come—that’s come to the blood will. The blood will of the Lord is for you to live pure, clean, holy and righteously so that one day you can walk down the Avenue of Glory as pure as the angels themselves. Praise God forevermore!
The Gospel, how powerful is it in your life? How much of it do you use? How often do you use it? How much of this do you really love? I’m talking about the Gospel; I’m talking about eating the Word.
An angel gave John the Revelator a book and told him to eat it. I went unto the angel, and said unto him, Give me the little book. And he said unto me, Take it, and eat it up (Revelation 10:9). What would you do if the angel of the Lord came to you and told you to eat a book, eat the whole Word, all of it? Jesus said you don’t live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God (Matthew 4:4). All of the Word came from the mouth of God; eat it, dine on it. Jesus said to the disciples, Come and dine (John 21:12). And He’s saying the same to you daily, Come and dine.
This is the Gospel of repentance, not the act of turning over a new leaf, but of being made completely new. This is the Gospel of abundant life, the Gospel of the Light of the world, the Lily of the Valley, the bright and morning Star, the Rose of Sharon. This is the Gospel of the healing Jesus, the miraculous Christ, the changing changeless one who turned the water into wine.
Don’t Rob God of His Power
Jesus changed the lives of men, women, boys and girls when He walked among men, and He’s still changing people. He met the blind and gave them sight. He met the deaf and dumb and made it possible for them to hear and speak because He is the Creator. Jesus spat on the ground, and made clay of the spittle, and he anointed the eyes of the blind man with the clay, And said unto him, Go, wash in the pool of Siloam, (which is by interpretation, Sent.) He went his way therefore, and washed, and came seeing (John 9:6,7). Oh praise God—what a Jesus!
What a marvelous Gospel we have! Don’t rob the Lord of any of His power. He’s the resurrected Christ who conquered death, hell and the grave for us. Stand up for Him; sing His praises in this final hour.
We’re going to tell the world about this, let everybody know in whom we have believed. We have put our trust in Him and we’re not ashamed of His ways; we’re not ashamed of Him at all. We delight in Him. We are more proud of Jesus than we are of anybody else we have ever met. He is the greatest one in our life.
Jesus is the one who cries, Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light (Matthew 11:28-30). That’s the voice of the Gospel, the blood voice. Come and bring your sick to me and I will heal them; come, come, come!
If this Gospel is to live, it can’t be shut up in a Book; the Gospel must live in your heart, in your spirit, in your life. Don’t look to other people to see what they are doing; stand before this Gospel mirror and discover where you are with the Lord.
Dine with the Lord, feast on all of this. O taste and see that the LORD is good (Psalm 34:8). The Lord has given you divine taste just as He has given you divine faith, the same faith that Jesus used when He was here on Earth. That’s Gospel faith, the faith to live by instead of your feelings.
Live by Faith Not Feelings
Many people live by feelings. Wouldn’t Daniel have had an entirely different outcome in the den of lions had he lived by his feelings? He wasn’t living by his feelings in there. The putrid stench alone was awful. Do you think Daniel felt like being there? Don’t you know he would have felt more like being some other place? Don’t you think he would rather have been back in Jerusalem instead of in that den of lions? But the Bible says we will live by faith, and Daniel in the lions’ den lived by faith, not feelings.
You rejoice over Daniel living by faith in the den of lions. You rejoice over someone else’s victory in persecution, but when it comes to you it can be a different story if the Gospel isn’t living on the inside of you. The Bible may be on the reading table at home, or you may carry it under your arm, but the Gospel can’t get into your heart when it’s tucked away under your arm. No, you must eat the Word, digest it, accept everything Jesus brought and taught.
Be proud to live a godly life in this old world of sin. This Gospel isn’t much sought after today; you’ll never win a popularity contest with it, but we’re out to win the lost at any cost, to tell the story of the Old Rugged Cross and the blood of Jesus. It doesn’t matter what doubters think about it.
Some people claim to follow this Gospel, but they don’t actually believe a tenth of it. When you begin to talk about miracles they think you’re in fanaticism. They say the days of miracles are over. If you mention salvation they say that’s silly, the Lord isn’t sending people to hell. But if you don’t believe salvation you don’t really believe in God.
We’re not ashamed of the resurrection of Christ; we’re not ashamed of the One who died on Calvary for us. We’re holding Him up before a lost world and calling all to look at the One who died for us all.
We’re holding Jesus heaven high in this final hour; we’re proud of Him, and we’re heaping all the glory we can upon Him and upon this Gospel.
We stand for this Gospel of deliverance, of power, of hope. We stand for this Gospel that changes lives, puts families together, brings joy and peace into individual lives and homes.
We stand for this Gospel that supplies all our needs according to the riches of our Lord in Glory. We stand for this Gospel that embraces every promise man and woman could ever use while on this journey. This is the Gospel that Jesus was talking about, the Gospel He confirms with signs and wonders, miracles and healings.
Many people won’t accept the Bible teachings of the nine fruits of the Spirit, the nine gifts of the Spirit, and the second coming of the Lord. I don’t debate with people; I don’t fuss with them. I learned in the early part of my ministry that you either had an experience or an argument, and those who had an argument didn’t have an experience. I decided I wasn’t going to argue the Gospel; I had the experience. Why should I come down to them? Jesus didn’t come down to those below the Cross who were mocking, “If you’ll come down we’ll believe.” They wouldn’t have believed.
If people want to doubt, they’re going to doubt. Oh, they may go to church, but they don’t want any excitement there. They’ll say they believe in Christ. What Christ, a dead one? The Christ that I know in this Book is very much alive and He performs signs, wonders, miracles and healings today. He is alive; I use His blood name and the blind get their sight; I use His blood name and the deaf hear and the dumb speak.
Miracles Confirm the Gospel
Praise God, this Gospel is what I’m taking to the people all over the world; the Gospel of Jesus Christ is the reason so many thousands in the crusades are coming to the Lord, saved in just moments of time. It’s the reason they will crowd in even though they’re bound in voodooism, witchcraft, and all kinds of dark chains of the devil. And by the thousands they’re set free as the blood pours into their souls.
I preach the blood; I come onto the platform saying, The blood, the blood of Jesus! I take authority over every devil, over every demon spirit in the name of Jesus.
This Gospel is powerful; but, I repeat, we must use it, must know the power we have through the Gospel so we can let it work in our lives in all its purity, glory, strength, and power. This Gospel must go to the world confirmed with signs, wonders, miracles and healings.
Everything Jesus did, every sermon He preached was confirmed by Heaven. God the Father confirmed what Jesus taught. That’s the way it was in the Early Church, and that’s the way it must be with us. The Early Church preached the Gospel, and the Lord confirmed it with signs, wonders, miracles and healings. Jesus said, These signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues…they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover (Mark 16:17,18). Believers in what will do these things? Believers in the Gospel.
God performed many miracles through Paul, a mighty Jesus believer; only a few of them are recorded in the Bible. He spoke and did the things of the Lord through the power of the Holy Ghost that poured through him.
We must get this Gospel out to everyone we can. That blind man can receive his sight and then tell others about it. We want to see that crippled one walking, going forth leaping and praising God the way it was in the Early Church. Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the [blood] name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk. And he took him by the right hand, and lifted him up: and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength. And he leaping up stood, and walked, and entered with them into the temple, walking, and leaping, and praising God (Acts 3:6-8). Oh glory be to God! The man once crippled was preaching a real sermon by his actions.
Endued with Power from On High
I love a Gospel that lives and acts with all Heaven’s power. I love the power of the Holy Ghost. I’m proud of people who have the real Holy Ghost, and I’m ashamed of the way some people act who claim to have Him but they don’t have the Bible Holy Ghost. I’m ashamed of people who talk in tongues at will, who say they can talk in tongues any time they get ready—that’s not the Gospel. The Bible says, They were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance (Acts 2:4). The Holy Spirit did it; He gave the utterance. Talking in tongues at will is a disgrace to the cause of the Gospel, a disgrace to this Bible.
The baptism of the Holy Ghost was included in the Gospel that Jesus brought. He told the disciples to go to Jerusalem and stay there until they were endued with power from child. Behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high (Luke 24:49). And that’s exactly what they did. You can call the Holy Ghost fanaticism, but Jesus called Him power from child. Do you think anything fanatical could come from the heavenly Father? I think not! Oh blessed be the name of the Lord!
I’m glad for this power in our midst, this power of the Holy Ghost. I’m glad we believe in signs and wonders; I’m glad we believe in all the nine gifts of the Spirit. And when the Holy Spirit speaks, the gift of interpretation goes forth and the Lord speaks to us directly from Heaven. The Lord is alive! Thank God He’s alive! We’re going to listen to Him and enjoy the greatness of God in this final hour.
The Gospel Lights the Way
Love the power of the Gospel and what it will do for people, the way it will set the captives free. There is no real life without this Gospel, no real lasting peace, and no way to Heaven. The Gospel light shows the way to Heaven, and it will shine brighter and brighter as more and more lives become instruments the Lord can shine this Gospel through. He wants us all the time to be in a condition for the light to shine. If you really have the Gospel light and live it, it will shine. You’re not ashamed of the Gospel, you’re not ashamed of Jesus Christ, you’re not ashamed of the power of God, and you’re not ashamed of the good baptism of power from the Holy Ghost. This Gospel is marvelous!
The blood Gospel is the only thing that will set people free from sin. There’s no other message but one, the Gospel of Jesus Christ. There’s no other Lord, Savior and Master to deliver the lost of this world but one, Jesus Christ. This is His message; this is what He gave His life for. Jesus came all the way from Heaven, left His place beside the Father for a world that looked like a trash pile. He came because of love, Heaven’s love and because of grace, Heaven’s grace.
The Bible is the only book that contains Heaven’s message, the holy divine Gospel with the whole love message of Heaven. Heaven’s faith, love, deliverance, grace, power, and compassion for each lost soul are all found in the Word of God. Nobody has ever loved you like Jesus loves you; nobody has ever cared for you like He cares.
It’s time for us to love the Lord the way He should be loved, the way He deserves to be loved. It’s time that we praise Him as He needs to be praised—not because we feel like it, but because He’s worthy. Thank God for the Old Rugged Cross, thank God for the blood of Jesus!
There are people who claim they don’t want a bloody salvation. They will never get to Heaven without it.
What can wash away my sins?
Nothing but the blood of Jesus!
What can make me whole again?
Nothing but the blood of Jesus!
You can be made whole by the power of God, by a real salvation, a real born-again experience; and then you can go on to receive a real baptism in the Holy Ghost. The Gospel signs, wonders, miracles and healings are real. We don’t have a counterfeit; we have the real thing. We’re telling people they can be born new, quit all their sinning, all their lying, fussing, resentfulness, jealousy, envy and strife. They can be born new until all the works of the flesh are gone and they come into the righteousness of God, the family of God. This is a wonderful Gospel, and I’m not ashamed of it!
Paul Was Ready to Die for the Gospel
Paul, on his way to Jerusalem, was told he would be bound there, but he said, I am ready not to be bound only, but also to die at Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus (Acts 21:13). Paul was ready to die for this Gospel.
This Gospel is what Paul wasn’t ashamed of. He said, I am ready to preach the gospel to you that are at Rome also (Romans 1:15). Oh yes, he was, remember, in prison a long time in Rome; but it didn’t make any difference in his love for the Gospel; he was ready to preach it everywhere he could.
Are you ready to die for the Gospel today; are you ready to pay the supreme price? Would you have died for the Gospel; would you have been willing to die for the name of Jesus had you lived in Paul’s day? The Christians who went into the arenas and died for the sake of this Gospel believed in it, put their lives on the line for it.
The least we can do is put our lives on the line for Jesus, holy lives that the world cannot touch, that the devil cannot defeat. We must walk like Jesus, talk like Jesus, be like Jesus and carry this Jesus Gospel to the whole world in this final hour. Many have never heard the true Gospel.
When you accepted Calvary’s love, you took the responsibility of getting this Gospel message to the whole world. When you accepted Jesus you took on full responsibility of the “go ye” of this Gospel: Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature (Mark 16:15).
The Gospel separates people into the righteousness, holiness, love, and the peace of God. It puts people on the good straight and narrow road on their way to Heaven.
Let’s go along talking about this good old way, the Gospel way. Let’s go along talking about the Lord, and giving shouts that will tear down the walls of opposition. A true shout of strength, a shout of perfect peace, perfect joy, a perfect heavenly shout will tear down the walls.
Live in the Cloud of His Presence
Don’t say you’re weak; say you’re strong because you have the Gospel. You are not a weakling; you’re a child of God, and angels minister to you. How do I know? Are they [angels] not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation (Hebrews 1:14)? What are you going to do about it; what are you going to say about it?
It’s time to rise up and live in the cloud of His presence, live in His glory, live in His great blood love knowing you can use the blood of Jesus that has all power—and never be ashamed of it. Never be ashamed to say Praise the Lord! or Glory to God! because you have that glory, the glory of the Gospel. The Bible says it’s joy unspeakable and full of glory (I Peter 1:8).
Drink from the fountain that never runs dry; draw from the wells of salvation. Praise God forevermore! Walk in the same grace that Jesus walked in, the same love, the same holiness and righteousness. Walk the same paths and be loved by the same Father. Our Father which art in heaven…thy will be done (Matthew 6:9,10). We have our Gardens of Gethsemane, but with the Gospel working in our lives and in our hearts, we don’t struggle against the will of God. I learned a long time ago the only way you can conquer in that garden is by saying, Father not my will, but thine be done.
Don’t go by your feelings.
God Makes Witnesses
Do you really want the will of God? Many people claim they want the will of God, but they don’t really. They’re selfish; they want what they want; they want to do things their way. They want to say it their way, not God’s way. Not wanting to walk the paths of the Lord, they don’t want to stop what they’re doing so that they can do what God wants them to do. They don’t want to tell people about this Gospel, they don’t want to be a witness. Jesus wants to make witnesses to His Gospel. God told Abraham years before the coming of Christ, I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing (Genesis 12:2). And the Lord told His disciples, I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter (John 14:16), and you will be witnesses.
It takes the Lord, not you, to make real witnesses to the Gospel, the power of God, the blood. It takes this Gospel of power, this Gospel of grace, this Gospel of divine blood to make you a witness. Too many professing Christians are self-made witnesses, and they’re hindrances to the Kingdom of the Lord. If you’re not a true Gospel witness made by the Lord, if the Lord hasn’t made you a witness with the power of the Gospel, you’re no witness for Him and He can’t use you. He can only use witnesses that He makes through the Gospel.
The Lord made witnesses in the beginning of the Church. He made Stephen such a wonderful witness that he was ready to die before he would stop witnessing. He wasn’t ashamed of the Gospel; he didn’t back away.
In the beginning of the Church the apostles had to be fully dedicated because their lives were on the line all the time. They didn’t know if or when they would be martyred, but they were ready. Paul’s phrase was, “I am ready!”
I can hear the Bride saying today that she is ready. She is ready to make any sacrifice, ready to take this Gospel to the whole world. She is ready to fast, ready to pray, ready to stay awake all hours seeking God and pulling Heaven down. She is ready to serve the whole Christ to the whole world. I am ready! I am ready! she is crying.
Jesus is the Heart of the Gospel
Jesus calls, Come, follow me (Luke 18:22). We’ve answered the call and we’re following the Lord. He’s ever leading us onward into green pastures and beside the still waters, helping us to climb the highest mountains in this final hour; and finally He’s leaping from mountain to mountain with us. Glory be to God! This is the hour of great revelation, of great visitation. This is an hour of great power, Gospel power, and we’re not ashamed of the Gospel of power. We’re not ashamed of this power of salvation, this power of grace.
Can you say with Paul, I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation (Romans 1:16)? This Gospel is the power of God unto salvation. For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ (I Corinthians 3:11). Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me (John 14:6). He is the Gospel way, the door into Heaven. He that entereth not by the door into the sheepfold, but climbeth up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber (John 10:1). If anybody tries to get into Heaven any other way, he’s a thief and a robber; and he’ll never make it. Without Jesus you have no passport to Heaven; without the Jesus you can’t have the Gospel.
The Gospel comes with Jesus; He brought the Gospel, taught man the Gospel in the first place. Jesus is the very heart of the Gospel, and we’ve got to have His heart in our hearts. It’s not I that liveth, but Christ liveth in me (Galatians 2:20), Paul said. Paul said anything and everything the Lord gave him; he wasn’t ashamed of any of it. When the Lord was pouring His Word out to Paul, it was full speed ahead: Just pour it out and I’ll put it down Lord. And put it down he did.
Earthquakes of Power
One time Paul preached the night through. And there sat in a window a certain young man named Eutychus, being fallen into a deep sleep: and as Paul was long preaching, he sunk down with sleep, and fell down from the third loft, and was taken up dead. And Paul went down, and fell on him, and embracing him said, Trouble not yourselves; for his life is in him (Acts 20:9,10). Paul didn’t miss a beat. With the Gospel power Paul raised the young man from the dead and on he went preaching the rest of the night. Isn’t that wonderful!
Earthquakes of power, we’re having them, earthquakes of power like Paul and Silas experienced in a Philippi jail. And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them. And suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken: and immediately all the doors were opened, and every one’s bands were loosed (Acts 16:25,26). Mark rather than Silas was supposed to have gone with Paul, but Paul chose Silas and now look what’s happened. I can picture the devil taunting Silas when he was in prison: You’re all beaten up; you’re never going to get out of this mess. Aren’t you ashamed of yourself? You’re a disgrace. If the Lord cared about you, you wouldn’t be in this awful situation; He would have looked out for you. But Silas didn’t give in to the devil’s taunts. He praised God and trusted Him.
The Lord was looking out for Paul and Silas, but He was also looking out for the jailer who was unsaved, too. And the keeper of the prison awaking out of his sleep, and seeing the prison doors open, he drew out his sword, and would have killed himself, supposing that the prisoners had been fled. But Paul cried with a loud voice, saying, Do thyself no harm: for we are all here. Then he called for a light, and sprang in, and came trembling, and fell down before Paul and Silas, And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved? And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house (Acts 16:27-31).
God sacrificed His own Son and He’s going to sacrifice you again and again to bring in lost souls. Jesus told us of suffering ahead: Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name’s sake (Matthew 24:9). But if you suffer for His name’s sake, the Bible says you’ll reign with Him. If we suffer, we shall also reign with him (II Timothy 2:12). Let that soothe your mind; you’ll reign with the Lord one day.
The songs of Paul and Silas were Gospel songs. There was no rock and roll beat in their music; they had the Gospel beat. If you have God in your life you won’t want the beat of the world’s music, either, you won’t crave it.
Too many people want to see how close to the world they can walk without falling over into it, but I’ve got news for them: They’re already in it. The Lord said for us to come out from among them, and be ye separate…and I will receive you (II Corinthians 6:17). Are you trying to be like the world or are you seeking to be like the Gospel? We’re supposed to be Gospel people, born again, filled with the good Holy Ghost and treasuring the vision of the soon coming Lord.
Changed in the Twinkling of an Eye
Being changed in a moment and twinkling of an eye is the Gospel. Paul said, Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed (I Corinthians 15:51,52). We will be changed in the Rapture, but through the power of the Holy Ghost and the blood of Jesus we’ve already been changed when we are born new and baptized in the Holy Ghost in the likeness of our Lord.
When it was time for Jesus to ascend back to Heaven, the Father didn’t send an airplane after Him or a spaceship; Jesus simply left the earth and went up. One day the Spirit of God will draw us and we’ll meet Jesus in the air and go on up with Him in that same manner. But if you don’t have the Gospel living inside of you, you’re not going to believe a story like that. If you don’t have Jesus in your heart you want to turn away from that story as fast as you can because it frightens you. However, if you have this good Gospel of Jesus in your heart, you’re eagerly looking for Jesus to come; you’re glad that He’s coming—it makes you want to shout, shout, shout for joy: I’m going to be changed in a moment and a twinkling of an eye! I’m going to be caught up to be with the Lord forever! I’m leaving this old world behind!
Are you going or staying? Do you believe, or are you just playing you believe? Is the Gospel a plaything to you or is it real? Do you really have salvation? Do you have the baptism of the Holy Ghost and the blood of Jesus flowing on the inside? If not, you don’t have true life. The life is in the blood, and this Jesus divine blood must be in your soul, or that soul is dead. Our souls that once were dead, had to be resurrected through the life-giving blood.
Thank God, my soul got that resurrection and it’s very much alive today, leaping within me with great joy and full of the goodness of God, full of the Gospel. I love everything about this Gospel; I love every Word of it; I love the Jesus who brought it and I’m going to adore Him as the endless ages roll.
Don’t Doubt God’s Love
I love to talk to Jesus; I find no fault in Him. When things are going wrong, I never accuse Jesus; I never think He doesn’t love me. He loved me when I was a sinner, and I know He loves me now that I’m His child.
People who doubt the love of God, the power of God, have no real experience of the Gospel. The Gospel is the power of God unto salvation; when you doubt your salvation, you doubt the Gospel. When you doubt your ticket to Heaven, you doubt the Gospel, you doubt the blood that stained the Old Rugged Cross; in fact, you’re trampling it underfoot with doubt.
How terrible it is to doubt the divine blood that Jesus brought! Go back to the manger; take another look to see what’s really in there. Recognize the divine blood in that little human container, divine blood that would save the whole world. One drop of divine blood is enough to wash away all the sins from every heart of every sinner on planet Earth today—that’s how powerful divine blood is.
You’re either a believer in the Gospel or you’re not a believer in the Gospel. Let God be true, but every man a liar (Romans 3:4), the Bible tells us.
Don’t trust your opinions. Your opinions are like mine: worthless unless they harmonize with the Gospel. If they’re not in harmony with the Gospel, throw them out. You have a right to your opinions, but not a right to use them. You can have a right for them to come, but take them to the Word of God and see if they hold up. It’s time to wake up and get ready to go up. If you aren’t ready, the Lord is going to say to you what He said to the disciples in the Garden: Sleep on (Matthew 26:45). Don’t let Him find you asleep at the midnight hour.
Hide the Gospel in your heart; praise God as His Word heals and delivers the people. Looking for everything good, drink from the well of salvation; a river of God’s power is flowing, and you’re filling up, your soul bubbling.
People live in fear today who look to the world for safety. They expect disasters, and disasters will come. The Lord said in the last days men’s hearts would fail. Men’s hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken (Luke 21:26). Sinners need to be afraid; if they don’t repent, their destination is eternal hell. Not only sinners, but Christians who are not on fire for God ought to be afraid. But if you’re walking in the will of God, you have nothing to fear and nothing to worry about. You’re blood bought, blood washed, and on your way to Heaven.
The harvest fields are ripe, and the Gospel call from Heaven is to pray for workers, pray for laborers. It’s time for each one of us to say, Here am I oh Lord, send me! The fire of the Holy Ghost has taken me over; it took over the prophet Isaiah of old. The angel took the fire of the Holy Ghost from the altar of God and pressed it to Isaiah’s lips and he was ready to go. Then flew one of the seraphims unto me, having a live coal in his hand, which he had taken with the tongs from off the altar: And he laid it upon my mouth, and said, Lo, this hath touched thy lips; and thine iniquity is taken away, and thy sin purged. Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me (Isaiah 6:6-8).
If you don’t know whether or not you could be a missionary to go with me to the mission fields, get the fire of the Holy Ghost, get the tongue of the Holy Ghost and try it. Why, you’ll be so full of Him until you won’t have enough hours to tell about it. You’ll want to tell, tell, tell, and you’ll feel so sad when the last hour comes and you have to go.
This Gospel, I say again, is not just to be tucked under our arms, it’s to be tucked away in our hearts. The Psalmist said, Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee (Psalm 119:11). Another writer said it would bring health to our flesh. My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings. Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart. For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh (Proverbs 4:20-22). This Gospel saves, heals and delivers, and I’m proud of it.
What a golden prize we have here, what a treasured possession is ours, and we need to talk it night and day. The Lord doesn’t want to hear gossip; He wants to hear the Word of the Gospel going forth; He wants you to talk about the Gospel. Who wants to hear gossip anyway? If you gossip, you’re like a stinking garbage truck, and you need to get cleaned up. The blood will clean you up until you won’t want to hear garbage, you won’t listen to it. If somebody starts to tell you gossip, stop them. Sound the alarm, this Gospel alarm, and send the devil on the run.
You don’t have to worry about what the devil is doing when you have the Gospel. Use it, sleep with it, live with it, sing with it, and love the lost with it in your heart. Love like Jesus loved. Praise God for the Gospel! I’m not ashamed of it; I’m glad I can proudly declare it today!
Salvation and Healing Come through the Blood
You can be saved today, delivered through the Gospel. You can be healed and set completely free through this Jesus Gospel. The Bible says, If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness (I John 1:9). If you don’t know the Lord, say the sinners’ prayer right now: Oh, God, I put my trust in the Gospel of Jesus. I believe the truth of the Gospel. I believe Jesus died for me, and I will no longer be ashamed of Him. I will be so proud of Him! I confess Him now and I will confess Him before others. I believe the blood of Jesus washes away all of my sins. Come into my heart Jesus! Come on in Jesus! If you meant that prayer you can say, Hallelujah, He has come!
If you were sincere when you prayed the sinners’ prayer, Jesus has forgiven you. Only believe and don’t ever doubt it. Decide you’re born new and you’re going to live a pure, clean, holy life. Walk with Jesus the rest of the journey and one day all Heaven will be yours.
If healing is your need, you can be healed. Many little ones have been set free. Many were deformed who the doctor said could never be well, but they have been made whole of their deformities. Some were born with just part of a brain and the Lord gave them a whole brain. They’re intelligent children now growing up in the spirit and the power of the Gospel.
This Gospel I’m preaching to you is real and it works. You may have AIDS—the whole family may have AIDS—but whole families are being cured of AIDS through this Jesus blood ministry. You can be set free, that’s the Gospel. Jesus heals all manner of sicknesses and diseases. I’ve never seen a disease He couldn’t heal. Lepers are cured, delivered, set free through this message that I preach, through this Jesus world outreach Gospel.
Get ready for your miracles. Lord, I bring the sick and afflicted, the blind, the crippled, those who are paralyzed, those who are dying with AIDS, and those with leprosy eating the flesh off their bones. Oh God, I bring them all to you for healing because I have brought the message of the Gospel, a message of miracles, healings and deliverance for mankind. Heal! in the blood name of Jesus. Give miracles in the all-powerful blood name of Jesus! Heal with miracle blood power! I curse all of their diseases, all of their afflictions and I call the Gospel healing power into their bodies. Be thou made whole, be thou made well in the all-powerful name of the Lord!
His power has gone into you if you believe this prayer and that power works. Watch yourself get well and give Him all the praise, the honor and the glory. God bless you. Write and tell me what happened to you.
Treasure the Gospel all the days of your life. I’m proud of everything about Jesus and the Gospel that He brought. I’m glad for this message from Heaven, and I’m glad to be able to preach the Gospel, the true Gospel of Jesus Christ. The Gospel of Jesus Christ is true—it works! Praise God, it works, it works, it works!
