Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me (Revelation 3:20). These are the words of Jesus; and He’s standing at the door of every person’s heart today, and He’s gently knocking. You can choose to let Him in or shut Him out, but all He wants to do is give you His unending love. He’s just waiting and wanting to give you all the care, joy, peace and grace that you will ever need; but some people never hear His knock.

When the Gentle Stranger, the Man of Galilee, died on the Cross, the veil in the temple was rent from top to bottom signifying that God had come down. And Jesus cried with a loud voice, and gave up the ghost. And the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom (Mark 15:37,38).

Then the message went forth: Whosoever will, let him come. And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely (Revelation 22:17). Those who take that water can enter boldly into God’s presence. Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need (Hebrews 4:16).

Seek the Lord

This Gentle Stranger wants to fulfill your every need; but to receive His divine help, you must want it and ask for it. He promised He would answer those who call. Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you (Jeremiah 29:12). The Bible declares, And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart (Jeremiah 29:13). You have to feel the need for Him or you won’t seek Him.

The Lord never intrudes because we’re all free moral agents, free to make our own choices and free to decide whether or not we want to seek Him. He said that if we would knock, He would open; but He’s not going to do the knocking for us. Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened (Matthew 7:7,8).

A personal relationship with this Gentle Stranger is one-on-one, but many people have never become acquainted with Him; they don’t know Jesus. He was never a stranger to me because my mother and daddy introduced Him to me and taught me about Him. We had a big family Bible that was always on the table in our home signifying that God was there. Mom and Dad read it for themselves, and they read it to their children. Even as a child, I always considered the Bible to be so holy because I knew it was God’s Book. But one day, I read it myself; and I found God outside of that Book.

It’s so sad that many children have never had the opportunity to know Jesus. Millions have been marked by Satan because they were raised in witchcraft, Satan worship, voodoo and all kinds of darknesses of the devil. That’s why it’s so essential for us to get this Gospel to the whole world.

I’m sent of God to introduce people to the Gentle Stranger. He’s knocking on their hearts’ doors, and He wants to come in with Heaven’s great love. It’s pitiful for so many people to feel unloved in this life when the Light of the world is knocking at their door crying, “I want to come in.” He wants to bring peace to those who are bound with the devil’s fear.

Devils Must Go

Witchcraft is full of the hate and darkness of the devil. Witchdoctors and wizards bind people with fear and convince them that they’ll kill them—and they can if people don’t have divine blood in their souls. But not one of them can touch a person who has the blood.

Some time ago, I met a man who had been a witchdoctor for years and who had killed so many people that he had lost count. He even had sacrificed his own beautiful daughter and one of his dearest friends to the devil. He was no doubt possessed with thousands of devils, but God delivered him and set him free. Jesus said, And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils (Mark 16:17). Today, many churches won’t allow the casting out of devils; but if they were true Jesus churches, they would allow it because the Bible teaches it.

God taught me demonology and how to cast devils out of people. Many people think they would like to have the gift of discerning, but they’re mistaken. It was a horrible experience to have to go into the kingdom of Satan, to meet the devil face-to-face, to see demons as you see people and to see them in the souls of devil-possessed people. The Lord will number the devils in a person in an instant; and if the person wants them out, they come out in a wad, not one by one.

Other preachers put on a big show and pretend to call devils out of people by name, but that’s not God’s way. The scripture says, In my name. You will find all power only in the name of Jesus. I know that I have the same authority that the apostles had when I say, “In the name of Jesus, come out!” I know the devils have to come out.

At times in my overseas crusades, the Lord tells me to call for alcoholics and drug addicts to come forward. We line them up; and as I pray for each one, the Lord just knocks them over like dominos. Seeing this really shakes up the preachers and laymen as they watch because they know that those people would not fall like that if God’s power was not real. Then I pray for their salvation, and most of those who accept Christ are also healed of AIDS and any other afflictions they may have. I encourage them to go to church and live for the Lord; and when we return to their country, it’s wonderful to see so many of them still holding on to God’s unchanging hand.

The Prince of Peace

The Lord wants to bring peace and joy to every soul. He is the wonderful Prince of Peace whom Isaiah the prophet wrote about: For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace (Isaiah 9:6).

The Gentle Stranger, the very Son of God, has armfuls on purpose; and He’s standing at many doors today, but they continue to shut Him out. He says, Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest (Matthew 11:28). People are so burdened down with the troubles of life that they can’t find their way. That’s why many of our young people have turned to drugs, alcohol and illicit sex.

It’s a terrible hour, but things can’t go on this way much longer. The Lord said that when we see all these things coming to pass, we must know that He is at the door. Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When her branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is near: So ye in like manner, when ye shall see these things come to pass, know that it is nigh, even at the doors (Mark 13:28,29). When the final door flies wide open, Jesus will step over the threshold and take His children home.

Desire God’s Will

Jesus stands at the door with everything you need to make the one flight out. He has a perfect, divine will for your life if you’ll let Him reveal it. He holds your future in His hand if you’ll follow Him.

Young People, Jesus will bring you the right mate, if you’ll let Him. He did it for me, and our homes were over 600 miles apart. When you really serve God and it’s His divine will for you to marry, He will bring that special person just for you. If you don’t wait for the right one, you will have only fussing and fighting in your marriage. Unhappily married people will tell you that they wish they had sought God in their youth so their lives would be different today. Many couples have been through divorces that would never have been if they had gotten the right one.

Thank God, I got the right one! We were sweethearts, and we loved doing the work of God. Our souls blended together perfectly during our twenty-seven-year marriage, until the Lord took her home. We had great times together, traveling and winning souls. We didn’t seek money; we invested in souls, and it paid off. We always knew we were taking Jesus to the world.

A Nation without God

The Almighty is at your door with all the divine favor and faith of God that you need to live by. Why would anyone choose not to open the door? Unfortunately, untold millions are doing just that. They don’t want to hear the name Jesus; they don’t want the Bible to be taught in school, and they don’t even want their children to sing Christmas carols. I travel to foreign countries where the people are supposed to be living so far away from God, but you can still teach the Bible in their schools.

When America allowed the teaching of Jesus and the Bible to be taken out of its schools, everything changed; and that’s why they’re in the condition they are today. The United States is not a Christian nation anymore. Millions don’t want to hear the name Jesus mentioned or have anything to do with Him—and that includes many politicians. How many of those who make the laws have Jesus? In most cases, He’s just a stranger at their door; and that’s why they’ve made such bad decisions.

When America depended on God, the people worked together; but now, many are so divided. True children of God are ridiculed for serving Jesus and living a godly life. There are many different religions all over the world today, but most have left Jesus out. Preachers tiptoe around false doctrine because they’re afraid they’ll offend somebody, but the Lord told John not to be offended in Him. When the men were come unto him, they said, John Baptist hath sent us unto thee, saying, Art thou he that should come? or look we for another? And in that same hour he cured many of their infirmities and plagues, and of evil spirits; and unto many that were blind he gave sight. Then Jesus answering said unto them, Go your way, and tell John what things ye have seen and heard; how that the blind see, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, to the poor the gospel is preached. And blessed is he, whosoever shall not be offended in me (Luke 7:20-23).

Jesus Is Calling

The Gentle Stranger is the light of the world, and He’s at the door of all those who live in darkness. The Gentle Stranger is so full of Heaven’s light that He brings sunshine at midnight to our lives and dries all of our tears with His love handkerchief. But most people don’t want Him because He says that they have to live holy.

This Gentle Stranger has a born-again experience for everybody. He came all the way from Heaven with a personal invitation from Lord God Almighty, inviting us to live in Heaven with Him. Jesus said, In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also (John 14:2,3).

Jesus is soon coming after those who are ready. I praise God that we can know Him in the power of His Resurrection and in all of His greatness. We can know His love in times of sorrow and tears, and we can know that He’ll always be with us. Lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen (Matthew 28:20).

We must know that all God’s promises are true and that He’ll never forsake His own even though He was forsaken. He came unto his own, and his own received him not. But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons [and daughters] of God, even to them that believe on his name (John 1:11,12). We can’t allow Jesus to be a stranger. We must know Him in all of His power, in all of His greatness, in all of His faith, joy and love. We must know His self-control and realize that the devil can’t control us because we have power to trample devils underfoot.

We don’t have to walk with fear because when we let the Gentle Stranger in, He’ll take all fear away. Fear will come in this life, but it only has to stay temporarily because the Holy Ghost will flow the divine love of God into our spirits and minds and cleanse us of all of it. For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind (II Timothy 1:7). With all of this, we have it made.

Don’t Be Deceived

People may think we’re foolish today, but they’ll think differently during the Tribulation Period when the Gentle Stranger is no longer at their door. Instead, the Antichrist will be standing there trying to pass himself off as Christ, the Son of God. But the Bible tells us not to be deceived. Wherefore if they shall say unto you, Behold, he is in the desert; go not forth: behold, he is in the secret chambers; believe it not. For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. For wheresoever the carcase is, there will the eagles be gathered together (Matthew 24:26-28).

Many preachers have never learned what the carcass mentioned in this scripture really is, and they teach that it’s Jesus Christ. That’s ridiculous because Jesus Christ has never been a carcass. He’s not dead; He’s alive now and forevermore! The carcass represents false doctrines, and the eagles are people who are arrogant and want nothing to do with God or His Son. God told King Belshazzar, The God in whose hand thy breath is, and whose are all thy ways, hast thou not glorified (Daniel 5:23).

The handwriting on the wall is revealing the destinies of many people today. They don’t want the Gentle Stranger. But one day, He’ll return as the Lion of the tribe of Judah; and when He does, the door will fly open—not because they’re inviting Him in but because He’s coming in a rage to mock them. I also will laugh at your calamity; I will mock when your fear cometh (Proverbs 1:26). He’s coming with a sword of judgment in His hand to end the Battle of Armageddon. He’s coming with His vesture dipped in divine blood and a sword proceeding out of His mouth, and millions of people will be killed. He won’t be the Gentle Stranger anymore.

Know Jesus

When tragedy strikes, people panic and call for everyone to pray. But they make a mockery out of prayer because once the storm is over, they forget all about God, prayer and holy living. They forget that both of their hands are supposed to be in those of the Gentle Stranger. We must know how to pray not only when the storm is raging but also when the sun is shining. Jesus came to show us the right way. He came to walk and talk with us just as He did with the first Adam and Eve.

Jesus paid a great price, and you must realize how great it was. You’ll never know this Gentle Stranger until you know Him in the Garden of Gethsemane and at the whipping post. You’ll never know Him until you go all the way to Calvary with Him and watch Him die. You’ll never know Him until you see the power of His Resurrection. He said, I lay down my life, that I might take it again. No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again (John 10:17,18). You have to know this Gentle Stranger as the Savior, the healer and the soon-coming King so you can introduce Him to a lost and dying world. Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world (John 1:29).

There are many people, even some who go to church, who don’t know this Gentle Stranger; so we must carry God’s divine love and forgiveness to a world that has never been forgiven. With that divine forgiveness in our lives, we won’t hold grudges or carry any unforgiveness against anyone. We will forgive our enemies and pray for their souls to be saved because we don’t want anyone to go to hell. Once we meet the Gentle Stranger, we can never carry any hate within us because He’s the most remarkable man who ever lived.

Honor God

I’m glad that at eighteen I finally opened the door to Him. I hadn’t wanted to let Him in, but He kept knocking. He allowed such fear and darkness to take me over, and He held me over hell until I could see the smoke coming up around me. It scared me half to death! Some people don’t believe in scared religion; but that’s what I got years ago, and I’ve been preaching for over seventy years.

The Gentle Stranger couldn’t get me to open my heart’s door to Him with love because I had always had plenty of love, so scaring me was the only way the Lord could get my attention. When I did let Him in, I discovered that He was very different from what I had thought He would be. I didn’t know that He could take away all of my desires for dancing and jitterbug music, but He delivered me in an instant. He stepped in, and He made me brand new all over; and I’ve never been the same.

I was blessed to be raised in a home filled with both human love and great divine love, and I didn’t know that was so unusual until later when I began to look back on my childhood. We had a family altar in our home, and we were taught to be thankful. At mealtime, no one dared to start eating until we had thanked God for the food He had provided.

Even in public school, we were taught to honor God. We didn’t have all the violence and killing that seem to be running rampant in schools today; but as I already said, when America allowed the Bible to be taken out of the schools, things changed. They took the light of God out, and they did away with the Gentle Stranger who had come to save the lost. For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost (Luke 19:10).

See Jesus

I’m so glad Jesus is not a stranger to me. I know Him and the power of His greatness. I know about His healing power because He came to me when I was just twenty-three and at death’s door. Oh, how I had suffered; but that Gentle Stranger had already suffered for me, and He made me whole. He’s the remedy for all sin and sickness, but He only heals for His honor and glory. When Jesus was on earth and He healed the unsaved, He said, Go, and sin no more (John 8:11).

I always give God all the glory for His works, and I hold Him up before the people wherever I go. I’ve always had a fear that they would look at me and not see the Gentle Stranger. When I introduce myself in my crusade services, I turn myself around and say, “Here I am; this is all of me. Now, I bring you Jesus!” Then I begin to tell them the wonderful story of the Gentle Stranger and what His gentle touch will do. I tell them that He can give the blind their sight, make the crippled to walk, cause the deaf and mute to hear and speak and heal those dying with AIDS.

We have documentation for AIDS miracles, and we present them to those who won’t believe. Still some won’t accept this man called Jesus, so He remains a stranger to them. Some people will let a loved one die—even one of their own children—before they will bring them to a miracle service and give God a chance. That’s not love; that’s hate. When people hate Jesus and what He stands for, they will also hate His righteousness, His holiness, His life and His Gospel. They will never see Heaven for themselves because they’re traveling down the broad road, and only the narrow road and the strait gate lead to Heaven.

Gathering Stars

The disciples went through so much trouble because they didn’t learn Jesus like they should have; but Paul knew Him, and you can see the difference in his life. Although he never saw Jesus in the flesh, he became the greatest Apostle of them all. The Lord has used Paul’s life to bring me to where I am today.

I never dreamed that the Lord would use even one of the nine gifts of the Spirit in my life, and I never dreamed that God would raise up a little country boy in all His power. He carried me away in a vision when I was just eight; and in the Spirit, my bed and all went out into the stars. I seemed to be way up in the sky, and there were stars everywhere. They were so close that I could have reached out and touched them. At the time, I didn’t know it was a vision from God or what it was all about, so I hid it in my heart and never discussed it with anybody.

Later, when I went to Akron, Ohio and built the Cathedral, it happened again. The roof lifted off of my living room when I was down praying one night, and there were shining stars everywhere. I immediately cried, “I’ve seen this sight before!” And the Gentle Stranger replied, “I gave it to you when you were a child.” Then He let me know that the stars were the souls I’d win for Him. The Lord had finally unlocked this great secret in my life.

I didn’t know that I’d ever find the answer, and I didn’t know that the vision would be reality one day; but I’m in the reality of it now. Wherever I go, I’m gathering stars; and we gather untold thousands of them in our miraculous overseas crusades. My workers in this Jesus ministry fast and pray to prepare for each trip so that the power of God will be able to work through them just like it did when Jesus walked the shores of Galilee.

Jesus Is the Name

The Gentle Stranger stands before the doors to people’s hearts today with armfuls of glorious promises that can change their lives completely, but they won’t let Him in. He wants to dine with them and give them manna from On High. He wants to show them the way to Heaven, but many don’t want to be shown. Of course, they want to go to Heaven when they die but on their own terms; and they will never get there that way. Nobody can bargain with God; they must either accept His Son or be damned forever. Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved (Acts 4:12).

The name is Jesus! I speak that name, and devils come out of people. I speak that name, and souls are born again. I speak that name, and people are healed of all manner of diseases and afflictions. I love this Gentle Stranger; He’s so kind and loving.

Jesus Loves You

Nobody has ever loved people like Jesus loves them, and nobody has ever cared for them like He cares; so why do so many people and even Christians feel unloved? Shame on them! I never feel unloved because I know Jesus loves me. The Bible says, Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love (Jeremiah 31:3).

I was given the message of Jesus’ love from the time I was born, and I never doubted it. Even as a sinner, I knew He loved me. My mother and daddy gathered all the children around a table of love for meals and an altar of love for family devotion. We heard our parents pray to God, and they talked to Him just as one person would talk to another. I saw miracles in our home, and I watched those who were close to death get healed instantly through prayer.

No one can have this Gentle Stranger unless they feel the need of His help and divine guidance. They must want Him to walk with them just as He did with Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden. When God made them, He made them holy like Himself; and He planned to always supply all of their needs. They were so blessed, and they were never to have worried about sickness or death.

We can have all of this now; but since we’re living outside of Eden, we must first be born new. That ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness (Ephesians 4:24). Many people don’t feel the need of God because they aren’t wearing the righteous robe, and they aren’t serving God in the beauty of holiness with a pure heart.

Put Self Down

A pure heart carries no ego because ego comes from the devil. So many people have a big “I” and a little “you.” Don’t you hate to be around those kinds of people? I turn them off when I see them on television because I don’t want to hear them, not even on the news. They strut around bigger than a Christmas turkey before it’s killed. Their egos make them think that they’re bigger than everybody else when they’re really smaller than the smallest child of God.

You have to get rid of all your theories that don’t match the plan of God. Your thoughts are no good either, unless they’re divine thoughts. Paul told us exactly what to think on. Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things (Philippians 4:8).

The Gentle Stranger has all the help you need, but you must want it and recognize that His way is perfect. Many people don’t realize that, and they complain about things that God and His Son do. But I always say, “Lord, have thine own way”; and I mean it from my heart. As for God, his way is perfect: the word of the LORD is tried: he is a buckler to all those that trust in him (Psalm 18:30).

We must have God, and we must remember that He is divine. God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good (Numbers 23:19)? God is the Almighty. We must seek to think like Him rather than like man, but many people want God to think like them; and they want things to be done their way. They think they are so smart; but if you’d put their little, tiny brain beside God’s big, master brain, it would take a magnifying glass to see it. The devil uses ego to make people think they are so high and mighty, but they’re really just full of hot air. If you pop them like a balloon, they make a big noise; and then it’s all over. They’re completely flat.

Follow God’s Way

God will not change His plan to please anyone. Adam and Eve had it all. They had the plan of God, but they left it and went to the tree of death. There they died with only a handful of ashes. Today, many people have decided to leave God’s plan, too; but after they’re in hell for just one moment, they’ll wish they had walked with God and followed His plan.

When people don’t follow God’s plan for their lives, they’re in big trouble. Adam and Eve found themselves facing all kinds of troubles and trials on their own because they couldn’t get back to God. So he [God] drove out the man; and he placed at the east of the garden of Eden Cherubims, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to keep the way of the tree of life (Genesis 3:24).

Cherubims with flaming swords guarded the Garden of Eden, and man and woman were shut out from their God when they needed Him the most. They became sick and afflicted for the first time and had to work for their food. They faced all kinds of sorrow, despair and heartache when they could have had joy unspeakable. Finally, they had to face death—one son being murdered by the other. But Adam and Eve had wanted their own way.

Have Faith in God’s Promises

People today want their own way, too; and it’s terrible how they treat God. You can just flounder around paddling your own little canoe, or you can have a great time on God’s Gospel ship with the other children of God. It sails safely all the time in any weather. Then you can walk the waters with Jesus without sinking.

The Gentle Stranger carries all of God’s promises with Him, and the devil can’t sink one of them. The Lord told me one time that all the power of Heaven backs up every promise. The Bible says, Behold, I am the LORD, the God of all flesh: is there any thing too hard for me (Jeremiah 32:27)? To that I cry, “No, Lord, there’s nothing too hard for you!”

The Gentle Stranger is full of faith. Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith (Hebrews 12:2). You must look unto Him and trust Him for everything. He’s the One who brought healing from Heaven for soul, mind and body. But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings (Malachi 4:2). He’s the One who brought divine blood so we could live with Him forever.

You Must Have Divine Blood

Many people don’t feel the need of Christ’s divine blood. They think they can make it to Heaven through their own theories or the theories of their churches, but those things won’t save them. There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death (Proverbs 14:12). Some people are baptized in water as children, but water won’t wash away sins. If water was the answer, then Jesus wouldn’t have had to come and die. The Bible says you must be born again. Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God (John 3:3).

Until Jesus came, the divine blood wasn’t flowing; but without it, there would be no salvation. We have to feel the need of that divine blood day and night; we must sing about it, preach about it, testify of it and use it. It’s sufficient for everything; and it destroys all sickness, disease and sin. Hear the blood-voice of the Gentle Stranger saying, Go, and sin no more! There is power from Heaven to help us live free from sin just like Jesus did.

When Jesus came to earth, He became our elder brother. He took on the same form and fashion of a man that we have, but He was divine as well as human. As a human being, Jesus faced the same trials and troubles that we do; but He defeated the devil with truth and the blood.

Wear God’s Armor

We can defeat the devil, too, if we put on the whole armor of God. Do you feel the need of that armor? I feel the need of every piece of it, and I use it every day. If you’ll do the same thing, the devil won’t be able to get to you to hold you down or destroy you. You’ll be able to put him to flight. The Lord said, Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you (Luke 10:19).

The devil can never defeat you if you really love the Lord. And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment (Mark 12:30). You have to know the Gentle Stranger and trust in Him with your whole heart. Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths (Proverbs 3:5,6). Only when you trust Him can He direct all your paths, and only when you feel the need of Him will you follow Him.

Depend on God

The deepest valley of my life was when the Lord took my darling wife, Angel; and when she died, it was as if I died, too. I felt like I couldn’t go on breathing, and my speech would skip. I loved Angel better than I loved my own life; and I’d cry out to God, “Lord, please love me! I just have to be loved; I can’t live without love.” I felt the need of Him so much; and then He would speak and say, “I am the Lord that walketh with thee.” Even today, when I’m carrying a heavy load, the Lord will say, “I am the Lord that walketh with thee.” Every time He says it, it’s heavenly music to my ears that thrills me through and through; and it’s the only thing that brought me through that dark valley.

The Lord told me that it was His divine will to have taken Angel, and I know she’s in Heaven. I’ve never rejected God’s divine will, so I know He’ll help me to stand; He always has. He’ll help you to stand, too, if you feel the need of His love, His grace, His power, His peace, His joy, His knowledge and His understanding. If you feel that need, He’ll always be there. But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint (Isaiah 40:31).

People have to feel the need of the Gentle Stranger. They have to realize that they are lost and undone without God. People have to feel the need of a Savior, the need to be born new in righteousness and true holiness. We were all born outside of Eden and without the image of God. The Bible says, Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me (Psalm 51:5). But when you open the door to the Gentle Stranger, you can have God’s image. When people look at you, they must see the image of the Lord—His love, His gentleness and His goodness. You must want people to feel God’s compassion for them and to realize that there’s power in Christ’s nail-riven hands for them to be delivered and set free by His wonderful love and powerful blood.

Power from On High

There are people who feel the need of a born-again experience but not of going on to the Upper Room. The Lord Jesus stayed with the disciples for forty days after His Resurrection to make sure they felt that need. Before He ascended back to His Father, He said, And, behold, I [Jesus] send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high (Luke 24:49).

The Apostle Paul first felt the need of Jesus and His power after he was knocked down in the dust and heard the voice of the Lord saying, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me (Acts 9:4)? Only after the Lord struck him blind for three days did he feel the need of this Gentle Stranger, and he accepted Jesus into his heart. When he heard about the Holy Ghost, he felt the need of Him, too. He said in one of his writings, I thank my God, I speak with tongues more than ye all (I Corinthians 14:18). Later, the Lord led Paul away into the wilderness for a long period of time to be taught by the Holy Ghost and to receive power to lay hands on people so they could be baptized in the Holy Ghost, too.

John the Baptist had the Holy Ghost from his mother’s womb. But the angel said unto him, Fear not, Zacharias: for thy prayer is heard; and thy wife Elisabeth shall bear thee a son, and thou shalt call his name John. And thou shalt have joy and gladness; and many shall rejoice at his birth. For he shall be great in the sight of the Lord, and shall drink neither wine nor strong drink; and he shall be filled with the Holy Ghost, even from his mother’s womb (Luke 1:13-15).

Jesus came to earth and took on the form of flesh; and as a man, it was necessary for Him to have the Holy Ghost. John had the privilege of seeing the Spirit descend upon Him. And John bare record, saying, I saw the Spirit descending from heaven like a dove, and it abode upon him. And I knew him not: but he that sent me to baptize with water, the same said unto me, Upon whom thou shalt see the Spirit descending, and remaining on him, the same is he which baptizeth with the Holy Ghost. And I saw, and bare record that this is the Son of God (John 1:32-34). This proves that everyone must have the Holy Ghost.

Receive the Holy Ghost

I love the Holy Spirit! I’m a Holy Ghost-filled preacher, and I preach this power from On High. Through much prayer, fasting and living in the Word, God has given me the same power that Paul had to call the Holy Ghost down on people; and I honor Him for it. Thousands in my crusade services are baptized in the real Holy Ghost in a matter of minutes.

The real baptism doesn’t involve speaking in tongues at will; that’s just the devil’s deceit. The real Holy Ghost from Heaven speaks only by the will of divinity. Anything else is just self; and that’s dangerous because the Lord told me that when people fake the real Holy Ghost baptism, the devil comes in and takes over. The devil uses this tactic to scare people about the real baptism of power and to eventually destroy them. The Bible says, And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance (Acts 2:4). The Spirit is the One who takes over and begins to speak; and when He speaks, He’s really saying something as He glorifies the Lord.

If you don’t have the Holy Ghost today, you must seek Him with all of your heart. He’s power from On High, and only through His power will you make the one flight out.

See His Glory

Everyone needs the Holy Ghost; but so many people, including preachers, reject Him. Without the Holy Spirit, there’s no power; and when there’s no power in the pulpit, there’s no power in the pews. But the Lord wants us to share in His glory, and that’s why He brought it to us. He took Peter, James and John to the mount with Him and was transfigured before their very eyes. Jesus taketh Peter, James, and John his brother, and bringeth them up into an high mountain apart, And was transfigured before them: and his face did shine as the sun, and his raiment was white as the light (Matthew 17:1,2). The apostles saw the glory of the Gentle Stranger on that mount, and now God is gathering the members of the bridal company to the Mount of His Glory so He can reveal His glory to them.

You who are unsaved, you don’t have long. I say again that you must know this Gentle Stranger. Hear His soft knock and open the door because soon it will not be the Gentle Stranger at your door but rather the Lion of the tribe of Judah. The lamb personality and all His gentleness will be gone. It will be Judgment Day; and He’ll knock that door down with the sword of His Spirit, and damnation will be yours. You must realize that your soul is eternal, and you need to take care of it and feed it. Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God (Matthew 4:4).

Are you going to let the Gentle Stranger in, or are you going into the Tribulation Period? That will be the worst time that the world has ever seen. Jesus said it would be so terrible that no flesh would be saved unless the days were shortened. For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be. And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect’s sake those days shall be shortened (Matthew 24:21,22).

The Lord told Isaiah the prophet that there would be few men left on the earth. Therefore hath the curse devoured the earth, and they that dwell therein are desolate: therefore the inhabitants of the earth are burned, and few men left (Isaiah 24:6). Where will you be? Will you be hidden away with the Lord in Glory Land?

Jesus is coming. The Bible says, Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed (I Corinthians 15:51,52). All who know the power of His Resurrection will be caught away to be with the Lord forever.

Let Him In

You who don’t have salvation, do you feel that need? If you do, you can be saved and born new right now. All your sins will be washed away, and you will be as clean as if you never committed a sin in your life. Open the door and let the Gentle Stranger come in. I’ve introduced Him to you, and He’s everything you need. Pray this prayer with me right now:

Oh, God, I open the door now to your Son, Jesus. I’m glad you sent someone to introduce the Gentle Stranger to me. I want to know Him and learn all about Him. I’m so sorry that I’ve trampled His blood underfoot. I’m so sorry that I’ve sinned against His wonderful name. I confess all of my sins, and I believe that there’s power in your blood and salvation in your name to wash away all of my sins. Come into my heart, Jesus! Come in!

If you meant that prayer, He has come in; and He’s not a stranger to you anymore. He’ll be at your door daily, so always open it. That’s the first thing you should do each morning—open the door of your heart and give praise unto Him. Start the day right with the One who used to be the Gentle Stranger but is a stranger no more.

Accept a Miracle

Now, Jesus is at your door with healing. The Bible says, They shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover (Mark 16:18). The Bible also declares that faith in God heals the sick, but many don’t feel the need of that promise until they’ve exhausted every other way. And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up (James 5:15).

We believe in medical science, but doctors don’t have all the answers. Divine healing is masterful surgery; and the Gentle Stranger brought healing for soul, mind and body. You may have diabetes, heart trouble, lung trouble, leprosy or one of many other afflictions. You may have a child who is deformed or loved ones who are dying with AIDS, but the Lord will heal you and your loved ones if you will all live for Him. Lift up your eyes now unto the Lord. I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the LORD (Psalm 121:1,2). I am God’s believer, and His gifts work in my life. I don’t operate them; the Holy Spirit does.

Lord, here they are. Some of them may have been told that they will die in the next hour, the next week or the next month; but you can heal them right now and give them life. I curse the AIDS; I curse the HIV, and I curse all the deadly diseases working in their bodies. Heal! in the blood-name. Heal! in the all-powerful blood-name of Jesus. I feel His power all through me, so feel the need of accepting God’s promise and get well.

Ponder this message because thus saith the Lord, many souls will come to God through this message of the Gentle Stranger at your door.

Serve Him with all of your heart. Let me know what happened to you when you read this message and you let the Gentle Stranger in. I never tire of hearing about people’s experiences when they open the door and let Jesus in. Many find that their introduction to Him was just like the Bible said it would be, and He’s really all of that and more.

May God bless you and keep you. Walk hand-in-hand with the Gentle Stranger; and one day, Heaven will be yours.
