There are so many people who are drifting spiritually, and they don’t realize it. Some are so far off course, and they don’t know it. I have been out in the ocean on a raft enjoying feeling the warmth of the sun and the waves rocking me back and forth; but when I looked up, I realized how far from shore I was.

How many people today are looking up to see where they are spiritually? How many are anticipating the Lord’s return? If you have drifted spiritually away from the Lord, you won’t be ready when the Rapture takes place; and you will be left behind.

I want to give you five key signs that point to you drifting from the Lord. Number one is letting up on praying. You no longer talk to God that much. Number two is you close your mind to Bible fasting. Self rises up, and you don’t feel the need to fast. Number three is you don’t go deep into the Word and study it, so you don’t have the proper spiritual foundation to build your house on. Number four is you are not concerned when you miss church to attend to the cares of this life. Number five is you lose your burden for lost souls.

All these signs point to one thing, and that is your lack of dedication to the Lord. You have lost your first love. Remember what you were like when you first got saved. You had a go-ye attitude and a willingness to do whatever it takes for the Kingdom. You were willing to do anything for the Lord no matter what the cost was. You were even willing to lay down your life for the sake of the Gospel.

If you don’t have the same zeal you once did, you are drifting away from the Lord whether you realize it or not. You may still be active in church and at your post of duty, but you’re no longer doing it for God. You are doing it to be seen by others and for the praise of people. For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ (Galatians 1:10). If you are a pleaser of men, you’re not a servant of Christ.

Beware of Social Media

So many people are drifting away from God today. Christians are becoming lukewarm because they are focused on pleasing men rather than God, and that is why social media has become so dangerous to some. They get caught up in how many “likes” they get, and that starts to alter their behavior. They are trying so hard to please the social media audience they are trying to get, and they forget about pleasing God.

Jesus dealt with that same type of behavior during His ministry here on Earth. Many people believed in Jesus at that time, but they would not confess it to others because they knew it wouldn’t please them. Nevertheless among the chief rulers also many believed on him; [Jesus] but because of the Pharisees they did not confess him, lest they should be put out of the synagogue: For they loved the praise of men more than the praise of God (John 12:42,43). When you drift away from God, you will be in the same condition. You will love the praises of men more than the praises of God.

Of course, social media can be used for good too. This ministry uses social media to spread the Gospel, and it’s a great tool when it’s used to do God’s work; but be careful because the devil is using it to get many of you to drift away from God.

Have you been seduced by the devil through social media? Do you spend more time on social media than you do in prayer or in the Word of God? Nothing should take the place of your daily prayers and your Bible study. When you don’t talk to the Lord daily, you’re going to drift. You can’t ignore God.

Spend Time with God

Christians who have a firm foundation in the Lord will be careful not to drift in this final hour. How strong is your foundation in the Lord? Are there any cracks in it? The more quality time you spend with the Lord the stronger your foundation will be. If attending church on the weekend is the only time you spend with the Lord, you will come up lacking.

The church as a whole can only do so much, and our time is very limited. That is why it is so important for each one of you to put in your time with God. The sermons that come forth from this ministry in person or through the livestream can help you understand the Word of God, but you still have to spend time with God for those sermons to become a part of you. You must talk to the Lord, pray and read your Bible. You can’t think that what you receive at church on Sunday will last you through the whole week.

The purpose of church is for God’s people to come together to worship Him. The Bible tells us, Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching (Hebrews 10:25). The church is also responsible for evangelizing the world by spreading the knowledge and truth of God’s Word.

Even so, some people don’t feel the need of going to church, and others think they are too busy. They go to work, go shopping, go out to eat, visit with family and friends and even go on vacation; but they don’t have time to go to church. If the Lord is first in your life as you say He is, why are you not going to church to worship Him? The Lord honors every sacrifice you make for Him and His work.

Teach Your Children God’s Ways

How much of God is in your home? Are you depending on Sunday school teachers to teach your children about the Word of God and that’s it? A good Sunday school teacher strives to teach each child the ways of the Lord, but they only have them for a few hours on the weekend; so what are those children learning the rest of the week? How many children have drifted away from the shore because they weren’t given additional guidance by their parents?

The Bible says, Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it (Proverbs 22:6). The key word in this scripture is “train.” If you want to get a positive result from your children, you must be consistent in their training.

If you have ever tried to train a pet, you know you have to be repetitive and consistent. It takes time and patience to get positive results, and it is the same with your children. If you’re not willing to spend the proper time training them in the ways of the Lord, then they will eventually drift away and depart from the truth.

You can’t rely on just a few hours a week in Sunday school to help your children throughout the rest of the week. You have to do your part and provide them with a godly home. You must equip your children with the knowledge of the truth they need to fight the enemy when he comes against them. Your children are not always going to be at church or at home, so they have to know how to survive out in the world.

Danger Lurks on the Internet

The sad thing today is that our schools are now introducing our children to gender ideology. That never would have taken place years ago, but it is happening now. If you’re not careful and drifting yourself, you may wake up one day and realize that your children have been taken over by these worldly ideologies; and it will be too late to rescue them.

You must know what your children are doing and what they’re involved in. Don’t let them have free reign on the internet. When they are young, their minds are not trained or developed enough for the truth of God’s Word to be able to help them discern good from evil as they should.

There is so much evil available on the internet, and the devil tries to disguise it so it doesn’t look that bad. Evil and questionable material can pop up out of nowhere, and your children must realize that they need to get away from it right away. That’s why you need to monitor their screen time and know exactly what they are looking at. There are a lot of wolves in sheep’s clothing to be found on the internet; so if you want your children to be safe, you have to know what they are doing so they don’t fall prey to the devil.

This is the worst time in history to be raising children because the world today offers so many distractions and ungodly things, and it’s all readily available. All children need to do is click, and there it is. And it is the same with adults. You also have to be careful with what you look at and spend your time on throughout the day. Some things may appear harmless; but if those things are consuming all your time and taking you away from spending time with the Lord, they are not harmless.

Build a Solid Foundation

What kind of foundation do you have? Is it built on the solid rock, Christ Jesus? He said, And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say? Whosoever cometh to me, and heareth my sayings, and doeth them, I will shew you to whom he is like: He is like a man which built an house, and digged deep, and laid the foundation on a rock: and when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently upon that house, and could not shake it: for it was founded upon a rock. But he that heareth, and doeth not, is like a man that without a foundation built an house upon the earth; against which the stream did beat vehemently, and immediately it fell; and the ruin of that house was great (Luke 6:46-49).

You go to church every weekend and hear what comes forth from the pulpit; but if you don’t apply it to your life, your foundation is not built upon the rock, Christ Jesus. To have that kind of foundation, you have to dig deep; and that takes time, energy and effort.

When you relax your hold on the Lord and no longer feel the need to dig deep, the devil will give you a false sense of security. Then you will slowly start drifting away from the Lord and putting your soul at risk. You have to put great value on your soul because God puts great value on your soul. For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul (Mark 8:36,37)?

You can’t wait until the storm comes before you look up and see that you have drifted too far from shore. People may claim to have a good relationship with God without really spending enough time with the Lord. It will eventually show up on them, and they will get washed away with the storms of life. If the Lord does not come first in your life, you won’t be able to stand when trials and tribulations come your way.

Don’t Conform to the World

I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God (Romans 12:1,2). Drifting is a slow process, and that is why many people don’t realize they are drifting away from God. When you drift away from the Lord, your mind will begin to conform to the world.

We don’t know how long Demas worked with Paul before he started to drift; but when he did, his mind eventually became conformed to the world, and he left the faith. Paul was very disappointed in Demas; and he said, For Demas hath forsaken me, having loved this present world (II Timothy 4:10). The Bible doesn’t tell us that Demas ever made it back to the Lord, so I’m sure he is in hell right now wishing he never would have drifted away from God.

When you drift away from the Lord, you will shift your love from the things of the Lord to the things of the world. When Demas did that, it was easy for him to forsake Paul because Paul was not of the world. When you begin to drift, you will seek companionship with worldly people; and you won’t feel the need to be around God’s people. The devil loves to whisper in your ear, “You can hang around with those worldly people. You’re not doing anything wrong.”

The Bible says, Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness (II Corinthians 6:14)? Hanging around unbelievers will cause you to drift further and further away from the Lord.

Never Listen to the Wrong People

For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning. For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them. But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, The dog is turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire (II Peter 2:20-22).

Peter was referring to false teachers in the church who were leading people away from the truth of God’s Word and encouraging people to indulge in sin. It’s disgusting when a dog will go back to his vomit and eat it. Peter used that example to try to make the point that once you’re delivered from sin through the blood of Jesus Christ, there is no reason for you to go back to the vomit of sin. Unfortunately, there are many people who do that.

Many times when Christians start to drift, they will listen to people who are seduced by the world; and they will start to lean towards their ways of thinking. People will plant seeds in their minds about the world, about sin and about how certain things in the Bible don’t sound right. Those who listen to such things are being seduced by the devil. The Bible says, Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage (Galatians 5:1).

The devil’s main objective for every Christian is to entice them back into the world and make them return to the vomit of sin. The devil doesn’t give up on your soul when you get saved. He is very patient, and his demons are working day and night in many different ways to get you to sin.

Recognize Satan’s Seduction

The Bible says, Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour (I Peter 5:8). If you knew a lion was loose in your neighborhood, would you leave your house? Of course not. You would be on high alert and looking out the window to see if that lion was in your yard. In the same way, Christians need to stay on high alert when it comes to the devil. They’ll make the mistake of underestimating the devil’s ability to destroy and devour them.

The devil uses people to seduce you back into the world. He will even use Christians who are drifting away from the Lord to weaken your walk in the Lord. How can you know if someone in church is drifting away? One big red flag is when a person starts complaining about the work of God, the ministers and their brothers and sisters in Christ. Stay away from such people because the devil is using them to try to get you to doubt. The devil loves to cause confusion and bring division in the church.

Seducing spirits have been around since the beginning of time, and that’s why it’s important for you to learn how the devil works. He’ll make you think you don’t have to be so strict with your life. You can watch what you want, listen to what you want and hang around with anybody you want to; but that’s the power of Satan’s seduction. The devil is so subtle that you won’t even realize when you are being seduced. By the time you do, it may be too late—you have already drifted away.

This is a dangerous, late hour, and you need to be on guard at all times. We are the Rapture generation, and Jesus is coming back for His Bride. That’s why the devil is doing everything he can to cause you to miss the Rapture.

Keep Your First Love

Losing your first love can cause you to drift. Jesus warned about this saying, Unto the angel of the church of Ephesus write; These things saith he that holdeth the seven stars in his right hand, who walketh in the midst of the seven golden candlesticks; I know thy works, and thy labour, and thy patience, and how thou canst not bear them which are evil: and thou hast tried them which say they are apostles, and are not, and hast found them liars: And hast borne, and hast patience, and for my name's sake hast laboured, and hast not fainted (Revelation 2:1-3).

When you read these three scriptures, it sounds like those people are doing pretty good; but in the next scripture, Jesus said, Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love (Revelation 2:4).

Many people are involved in their church and do a lot of good things, but they are still drifting because they have lost their first love. You may have patience and labor to bring forth many works. You may not be able to stand the world or the devil, and you may know enough of God’s Word to be able to discern between a true apostle and a false apostle; yet Jesus is still saying, “I have somewhat against you because you have left your first love.” How can that be when it seems like you are doing everything right for the sake of Christ?

Consider this analogy: There are two singers. The first one walks on stage and sings a song. He hits every note perfectly, sings in tune and has the right timing. Everything seems perfect. The second singer walks on stage and sings the same song. Again, he hits every note; he’s right in tune, and his timing is perfect, but that singer sang with the love of God from his heart. Which of those songs is going to affect you the most? Of course, it’s going to be the one that was sung from the heart.

When a person loses their first love, they are no longer singing from the heart. They are just singing words and going through the motions. That is why Christians who have lost their first love are not effective soul winners. They may talk about Jesus, but the love of Christ doesn’t flow through them; so any person they are talking to will not be moved to repentance. When you have the love of God flowing through you, it makes all the difference.

Know Your Heart

What is the cure for someone who has lost their first love? Jesus gives the answer in the very next verse. Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent (Revelation 2:5). Repentance is the answer. You must accept Jesus Christ back into your heart.

If you are going through the motions and your heart is not where it should be, I want to encourage you to repent and reconnect your life with Jesus. The danger of drifting spiritually is that you can think you’re okay when you are not. You may look good on the outside and appear to be doing everything right when that is not the case. For the LORD seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the LORD looketh on the heart (I Samuel 16:7). Only what is in your heart matters.

Spiritual drifting can take weeks, months or even years. Some people start out to be so strong in the Lord, but they slack off and become disobedient and discontented. That opens the door to the devil’s deceit, and that is one of his greatest weapons. It’s amazing how many Christians are led astray through deceit. They begin listening to man instead of the Word of God and then slowly drift away. The devil deceives them and contaminates their minds to the point that they can’t see the truth. They might be going to church every service, but their hearts are far from the Lord.

The devil loves to work on feelings. He will make you feel discouraged or discontented with your situation in life and whatever you may be going through. He will get you focused on what others in the church are doing and make you feel like you don’t belong anymore, that it’s time to go.

Feelings have so much to do with self. That’s why when you come into the Kingdom, you are supposed to put self under the blood of Jesus Christ. When you’re drifting away from the Lord, you will find you are justifying your actions even when they go against God’s Word.

Yield to the Holy Spirit

Examine your life. Are you adrift in this dangerous hour? Where are you spiritually with the Lord? If you don’t find out now, it’ll be too late when the Rapture takes place; and you will find yourself left behind. You will have drifted too far away from the Lord and grieved the Holy Spirit right out of your life.

When was the last time the Holy Spirit actually spoke through you? Receiving the Holy Spirit isn’t just about having Him to make the Rapture; you must have Him so He can teach you and guide you into all things pertaining to the Lord. But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you (John 14:26).

If you’re finding it harder and harder to remember God’s Word, it may be because you are not putting in enough time with the Lord and yielding over to the Holy Spirit. He is the one who will teach you all things and bring the Word of God to your remembrance. You can’t afford to let God’s promises or the deepness of His Word slip from your mind in this hour.

Paul gave this great warning: Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, lest at any time we should let them slip. For if the word spoken by angels was stedfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just recompence of reward; How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him; God also bearing them witness, both with signs and wonders, and with divers miracles, and gifts of the Holy Ghost, according to his own will (Hebrews 2:1-4)?

When you neglect anything of the Lord, it is a warning sign that you are drifting. Don’t let the devil deceive you in this final hour. Look up and see where you are with the Lord. If you have drifted away from your first love, it’s time to get back to shore.

Let Jesus Change Your Heart

God’s Word says, The soul that sinneth, it shall die (Ezekiel 18:20). God hasn’t changed, and He won’t change no matter what society does or doesn’t accept. People who claim to be Christians but are living in sin are not really Christians. The Bible teaches we are to live a life free from sin. If you are starting to doubt this belief, then you are drifting spiritually. You are in great danger of being swept out into deep waters, and you might not make it back.

This is not the time to play church. We all need to be in our place with a heart full of God. If your heart is not full of God today, I’d like to give you an opportunity to accept Jesus Christ into your heart. Receive Him today and let Him change your life forever.

Pray with me now. Oh, God, save my soul. Forgive me for my sins. I have come home to serve you for the rest of my life. I believe the blood of Jesus washes away all of my sins. Come into my heart, Jesus. Come on in, Jesus. Amen. Friend, if you meant that prayer, you have Jesus Christ in your heart.

Receive a Miracle from God

Now, let’s get your miracle for you. You may have a request, or you may be standing in the gap for a soul who needs healing or deliverance. I would like to encourage you to agree with me in prayer for whatever you need. The Bible says, The prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up (James 5:15). I am a believer, and I’m pulling down Heaven and expecting God to move for you in a glorious way.

Lord, Heavenly Father, you know what their need is. Break their bondages and set them free in the blood name of Jesus. Take all the sicknesses and diseases out of their bodies. Heal! in the holy blood name of Jesus I pray. Now, let everything come to normal. Anoint them with a special anointing to tell others about you, Lord. Let them be mighty witnesses for you in this final hour and tell others about what they received. Amen.

Friend, look for every sign of improvement and give God all the praise, honor and glory for what He is doing for you. Then tell others about it.

Now, it’s very important that you go on to receive the baptism of the Holy Ghost. You need that power from On High to make the Rapture. Just get off to yourself and praise the Lord with your whole heart until the Holy Spirit comes in and speaks through you in a heavenly language. You will then become a part of the bridal company.
