The Bible is a book to be studied so you can gain wisdom and guidance in how to serve the Lord with your whole heart and have a closer relationship with Him. The Word of God is your safety. It will never lead you astray; but if you let the devil or man twist the Word of God in your mind, you will find yourself not only outside that safety zone but in the danger zone. You will self-justify your actions of disobedience, and you will be in trouble.

Paul wrote, Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron (I Timothy 4:1,2). Whatever doctrine the devil is teaching is not true because the Bible says, He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it (John 8:44).

The doctrine of Jesus Christ is full of truth; and when Jesus was here on Earth, He tried to get people to accept that. He said, And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free (John 8:32). The Jews at that time thought that because they were children of Abraham, they were already free; but Jesus let them know, Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin (John 8:34).

The Lord's doctrine has always taught against sin while the devil's doctrine makes excuses for sin. I'm sure many of you have at least one time in your life heard somebody say that no one is perfect, and everyone sins a little. That is one of the devil's biggest lies.

Many preachers twist the Word and teach people that once they are saved, they are always saved because they are saved by grace. It is true that people are saved by grace, but that doesn't mean they can continue in sin. Paul tried to explain this when he wrote, For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace. What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid. Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness (Romans 6:14-16)? It all comes down to who you yield yourself to after you receive salvation.

Walk Only the Narrow Way

When you truly become born again, you become a servant of Christ; and you will be obedient unto righteousness, not sin. But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life (Romans 6:22). The Bible goes on to say, For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord (Romans 6:23). That is very clear, so why do so many people fall into the devil's doctrine? Because they twist God's Word to justify the things they are doing wrong. They would rather live a life of sin than a holy life.

I've had plenty of conversations with people who love to quote scriptures and then twist them to justify their sinful lifestyle. They are so arrogant about it that they can't see they are on the broad way that leads to destruction. Jesus said, Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it (Matthew 7:13,14).

Are you traveling the wide path or the narrow path? You are on one or the other because there is no in between. Lust, deceit and hypocrisy are all a part of the devil's doctrine; and you will find those things on the broad way. The narrow way is paved with righteousness, and only the righteous can travel that path.

Eve Listened to the Devil

The devil is the father of all lies, and he has been telling them from the beginning of time. The devil seduced Eve with his doctrine, and then Eve seduced Adam; and that cycle of deceit has continued for thousands of years. The serpent asked Eve, Hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden (Genesis 3:1)? The serpent already knew the answer, but he wanted Eve to open up and talk with him. That's how the devil works. He wants you to pay attention to what he has to say; but when you do, he can seduce you.

When the devil talked to Eve, she answered saying, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden: But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die (Genesis 3:2,3). The Lord's instructions were simple; but the serpent said, Ye shall not surely die: For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil (Genesis 3:4,5). The devil tries to make sin seem so appealing by twisting God's words to make you doubt what He says and means.

Eve listened to the devil, and she became seduced and sinned against God. How could that happen to her? Because she let the desire for having something forbidden take the place of the desire to please God. Do you desire what God wants for you, or are you twisting God's Words to match your worldly desires? Are you reaching for things that are forbidden?

Beware of Deceit

When self is on the throne of your heart, your desires will override God's will for your life; and then you will be in trouble. The Lord's doctrine teaches, Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled (Matthew 5:6). When you want the world and your will more than you want God's will, you will either pick and choose which of God's words will allow you to fulfill your agenda or twist the meaning of what God meant in His Word.

The Lord's doctrine teaches us to be honest, but the devil's doctrine teaches us to deceive. Some so-called Christians think it's okay to tell a little lie, but what does the Lord's doctrine say? The fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death (Revelation 21:8). All liars will find themselves in the lake of fire.

Some ministers preach there is no hell and no flame in hell because it's what the world wants to hear. It puts people in their pews and fills up their collection plates. They would rather tell you what you want to hear rather than what you need to hear to get to Heaven.

Paul gave Timothy this advice and warning: Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and [the Lord’s] doctrine. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables (II Timothy 4:2-4). There is no truth in the devil's doctrine. It is full of lust and deceit.

The Devil’s Doctrine Is Deceit

When Adam and Eve disobeyed God, they were forced out of the Garden; and their older son murdered their younger son. There is a big price to pay for sin. For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning. For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment [the doctrine of Christ] delivered unto them (II Peter 2:20,21).

It is not God's will for any child of God to turn their back on Him, so don't let the devil deceive you and tell you that it’s okay to backslide. If you go back into the world in this last hour, you may never make it back into the Kingdom of God.

Judas betrayed Jesus. Later, he was sorry he did it; so he went back to the chief priests to return the thirty pieces of silver they had given him saying, I have sinned in that I have betrayed the innocent blood. And they said, What is that to us? see thou to that. And he cast down the pieces of silver in the temple, and departed, and went and hanged himself (Matthew 27:4,5). Judas committed suicide. Those thirty pieces of silver were no good to him then.

When Christians listen to the devil’s doctrine of deceit, he knows he has a chance to destroy their soul. The Bible clearly tells us what will keep a soul from entering into the Kingdom of God, but people continue to twist God's Word and make excuses for sin.

Being Good Is Not Enough

Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God (Galatians 5:19-21). The most valuable possession you have is your soul; but if you twist these scriptures and justify yourself in committing any of these works of the flesh, you will lose your soul and never inherit the Kingdom of God.

The devil's doctrine tries to convince people that they will make it into Heaven as long as they don't commit any major crimes like robbing a bank or killing someone, but many people are in hell today because they believed that. People drink, party like the devil and have sex outside of marriage and claim they're going to Heaven because they listen to the devil's doctrine and become deceived.

Other people think they can make it to Heaven by being a good person. If that were true, it would not have been necessary for Jesus Christ to come to Earth and die on the Cross for our sins. Nicodemus was a good person and a religious leader of the Jews; but Jesus told him, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God (John 3:3). The truth is that every person on Earth needs to be born again when they reach the age of accountability if they want to enter Heaven.

Seek Only God’s Guidance

The devil uses seducing spirits to plant seeds of deceit in your mind and contaminate it with wrong thoughts. If you have a thought that goes against the truth in God's Word, you must use the Word to flush your mind immediately and get rid of the thoughts the devil tries to give you. If you don’t, the devil will water those thoughts, so to speak, so they will take root and grow.

The devil is very patient, and he will allow some seeds of deceit to lie dormant until you're in a weakened state of mind. Then he will bring those poison seeds to life to draw you away from the safety of God's Word. That is why you must have a sober mind at all times.

Rev. Angley defined sober minded in his book Battles of The Mind as “to be free from all contamination of the world and from anything that would take your mind off Jesus.” The opposite of being sober is to be drunk or intoxicated. Are you intoxicated with the things of the world? Are you listening to people who are drunk with the devil's doctrine of deceit?

Unfortunately, many Christians seek the advice of people who don't have the truth abiding in them, and that leads them astray and maybe even into deceit. Child of God, who do you go to when you need guidance? The Holy Spirit is to be your guide; so if you find yourself looking to people for guidance and direction rather than to the Spirit through prayer, fasting and studying the Word, you are putting yourself at risk. You may even make some wrong decisions that could destroy your soul.

The devil is your adversary, and it is his mission to twist God's Word so you will choose his way instead of God's way. That is why the Bible warns, Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour (I Peter 5:8).

When you have a sober mind, you will be focused on Jesus Christ; and the devil won't be able to twist God's Word in your mind. You will know the truth without a doubt, and you will be able to use that sword of truth to fight the devil.

Beware of False Prophets

Acts 13 tells us that the Holy Spirit sent Paul and Barnabas on their first missionary trip together to the city of Paphos in the country of Cyprus. While there, they came across a Jew who was a sorcerer and a false prophet. False prophets claim to be of God, but they are the devil's messengers. They speak partial truths to gain the trust of the hearer and then twist the truth by mixing in the devil's doctrine. They seek to hinder souls that may be coming into the light of the Gospel truth.

You can see false prophets and false doctrines throughout the world today. Some say that Christ was never crucified, but only through the divine blood that flowed at Calvary was redemption made possible. Other people say they are born again because they believe in God, but they have never really given their heart to the Lord. You can’t have a born-again experience without first asking Jesus into your heart.

While Paul and Barnabas were at Paphos, the deputy of the country wanted to hear the Word of God; so he called on them. When they came before him, the false prophet was with him; and that prophet did not want to hear the Word of God like the deputy did. The false prophet withstood Paul and Barnabas because he wanted to turn the deputy away from them and from the Gospel.

That deputy was associating with a man who was full of deceit, and the battle was on between truth and false. Would he believe the false prophet or Paul and Barnabas? God will reveal the truth to a person who really wants to know it, but some people just don't want to know it; so they just brush it off. They think they are okay and on their way to Heaven just the way they are.

Now, Paul knew the deputy and the false prophet had a relationship, but that didn't stop him from calling out the prophet for who he really was. Then Saul, (who also is called Paul,) filled with the Holy Ghost, set his eyes on him, And said, O full of all subtilty and all mischief, thou child of the devil, thou enemy of all righteousness, wilt thou not cease to pervert the right ways of the Lord (Acts 13:9,10)? Paul knew the sorcerer was twisting the Word of God to benefit his own selfish agenda.

Paul went on to say, And now, behold, the hand of the Lord is upon thee, and thou shalt be blind, not seeing the sun for a season. And immediately there fell on him a mist and a darkness; and he went about seeking some to lead him by the hand. Then the deputy, when he saw what was done, believed, being astonished at the doctrine of the Lord (Acts 13: 11,12). The deputy was astonished that the doctrine of the Lord was greater and more powerful than the devil's doctrine.

The Price of Deceit

When God has enough of someone twisting His Word, He will let them know; and they will have to pay. Jesus has warned us in the Word that there would be false Christs and false prophets in the last days, so why are more Christians not alert to them? Jesus said, And then if any man shall say to you, Lo, here is Christ; or, lo, he is there; believe him not: For false Christs and false prophets shall rise, and shall shew signs and wonders, to seduce, if it were possible, even the elect (Mark 13:21,22).

We live in a great hour of seduction. Sin that was once done behind closed doors is now done in the open for everyone to see. The devil has taken over people, and many arrogantly celebrate their sins with parades and festivals. It's a mockery of the doctrine of the Lord, but some so-called Christians think there's nothing wrong with it. They have become followers of the devil's doctrine instead of the Lord's doctrine.

It's time to wake up and be sober-minded with the Lord. Get rid of the things in your life that are distracting you from the Word of God. Are you a lover of the Word or a lover of social media, gaming and other entertainments? Are there things in your life that are taking you away from the Word?

The Early Church didn't have the kinds of distractions we have today, so we are at greater risk than they were. You have to be so careful in this final hour because the devil's doing everything he can to pull you out of the faith. He will twist the Word of God to make you question it just as he did with Eve; so you must stand for truth, or you'll be pulled away into the devil's deceit and lies. The devil is a deceiver, and his goal is to seduce you in any way possible, so you will go his way instead of the Lord’s way.

Never Trust Self or the Devil

Have you ever had a person come to you and repeat what someone told them you said, and it was completely wrong? You know you never said that. The person had twisted your words and given what you had said a completely different meaning.

Lawyers do that all the time with witnesses who take the stand in a trial. They will twist the words of a witness to distort the truth so that what the witness says fits their agenda. How many guilty people have gotten off free because the lawyer was skilled at twisting the words of witnesses enough to cause reasonable doubt in the jury's mind? The devil loves to cause reasonable doubt in people’s minds when it comes to the Word of God too.

You can't trust the devil or people who are full of him. The devil uses people to twist the Word of God in your mind so you will self-justify your disobedience towards the Lord. Then seducing spirits take over your mind to soothe your conscience and make you feel that the way you are living is still okay, even though it's not for the Lord.

King David was God's warrior and champion. As a boy, he killed a bear, a lion and the giant, Goliath. He didn't depend on self; he depended on God's power. Imagine going up against a giant warrior with only a slingshot and five stones. The odds were against David, but he looked at the truth in God's words. God had said He would fight for David, so David knew the battle was the Lord's.

Then after David became king, he started depending on self instead of God. It took some time, but the devil slowly got in; and David began doing things God was not pleased with. That's how the devil works. He patiently plants little seeds of pride and arrogance to make you think you know what's best, even if what you think goes against the Word of God.

Some people think they can disobey God, say a prayer of forgiveness and everything will go back to normal; but that is not so. There is always a price to pay when you disobey or turn your back on God. Your choice not only affects your soul but the souls and lives of others as well.

God Says No Sin

Sin and disobedience will always lead to suffering, and that suffering can spill over and affect others. Humanity has been suffering for thousands of years because of the sin of Adam and Eve, and we still feel the repercussions of it today. If it weren't for sin, there would be no sickness or disease in this world. Those things come from the devil, so don't ever let people or the devil twist God's Word to make you think they come from God.

The Bible says, Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning (James 1:17). Sin and sickness are not perfect gifts, so they don’t come from God.

Child of God, you need to remember that the choices you make can cost souls, and maybe even your own. You might think a little disobedience here and there isn't going to hurt anything; but when you tarnish your testimony, it will show up on you, and it can even hurt others. Just because we're not under the Law doesn't mean we shouldn't obey God's Word. The devil has been twisting that ever since Jesus went to Calvary. The devil loves for Christians to backslide on God because he knows how much it will cause them to lose.

The Word says, For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace (Romans 6:14). But the devil twists God's Word to make people think they can't live sin-free lives because after all, we're only human. That is a lie of the devil. The Word of God says, The soul that sinneth, it shall die (Ezekiel 18:20). The devil's doctrine tells you it's okay to sin as long as you repent afterwards. He'll whisper, “God is merciful, and He will forgive you.”

It is true that our God is a merciful God, but that doesn't mean He makes allowances for sin. God gives us everything we need to live a holy and righteous life. He gave us His only begotten Son, Jesus, who spilled His blood at Calvary to cleanse us from our sins. He gave us His Holy Spirit, the Spirit of truth, to live inside of us and teach us His Word. God's Word will never become twisted in your mind when you yield to your teacher, the Holy Ghost. Without Him, you are at risk of the devil twisting and distorting God's Word in your mind.

Don’t Follow Others

Friend, are you being deceived by the devil today? Are you allowing him to use people and even other so-called Christians to twist God's Word in your mind? Beware of those who claim to be Christians but live like the world. The Bible says you will know them by their fruits. People may be able to hide their sins for a while; but eventually, those sins will come out in the open, and people will see them.

If you are sincere and love the Lord with your whole heart, soul and mind, God will reveal when someone is not right. Then it's up to you to choose to fellowship with that person or keep your distance. If you choose to fellowship with them, you will be at risk of being seduced by the spirits that are seducing them.

The devil makes the path of disobedience seem harmless because so many who claim to be Christians are on that path. It doesn’t matter what position a person may hold in the church or who they appear to be in the Lord. If they are twisting God’s Word to fit their lifestyle, you can’t do the things that person is doing and think it’s okay when the Holy Spirit gives you a check. He is the Spirit of truth, and He will uncover deceit; so let Him be your guide.

The devil has a host of seducing spirits working day and night to destroy God's children. They are ready to twist God's Word in your mind just enough that you will go astray and still think everything is okay when it’s not. That choice may hinder others, ruin your testimony and even cost you your soul. You need to hold fast to the Gospel of Jesus Christ and let nobody deceive you in this final hour. It's time to stand for truth no matter what anybody else does.

Healing for Soul and Body

Friend, the Word says that if you don't have Jesus Christ in your heart, you won’t go to Heaven because the only way to get to Heaven is through Jesus. When you ask Him into your heart, it puts a divine blood seal around your soul; and you are the only one who can break that seal through willful sin.

Sinner, Backslider, I'd like to give you this opportunity right now to accept Jesus Christ into your heart. Pray with me and say, Oh, God, save my soul. Forgive me for my sins. I have come home to serve you for the rest of my life. I believe the blood of Jesus washes away all my sins. Come into my heart, Jesus. Come on in, Jesus. Amen. Friend, if you meant that prayer, you have Jesus Christ in your heart.

Now, I want to pray with you for any sickness or need you may have. I am going to pull down Heaven for you to receive whatever miracle you need. Let the Lord deliver you now.

Lord, Heavenly Father, move in a special way for each one of these people. Heal them in the blood name of Jesus. Let everything come to normal in their body and give them the strength they need. Let them feel your holy presence come upon them and break any bondage they may have. Set them free in the blood name of Jesus. Heal! in the holy, blood name of Jesus Christ I pray. Amen. Friend, look for every sign of improvement and always give God the praise, the honor and the glory for all He is doing in your life.

Now, you must go on to receive the Holy Ghost with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues so He can be your guide. All you need to do is praise the Lord with your whole heart until the Holy Spirit comes in and takes over your tongue and speaks in a Heavenly language. Just focus on Jesus and glorify the King.
