This last hour before Jesus comes is a dangerous one, and our enemy, the devil, is out to destroy everyone he can; so you must know him and his ways. Satan’s goal is to seduce and destroy every child of God possible, and you must not be one of them. Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour (I Peter 5:8).

Many people don’t believe the devil is real, but he is; and you must know how he works or you won’t be able to resist him. Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you (James 4:7). You resist him by using the divine blood, and God told me that the blood burns the devil and his demons just like fire burns our skin.

The devil and his demons work hard to taunt, torment and seduce God’s children. They want to persuade you to disobey God and to be disloyal to His truth, so you must recognize when they are coming at you and resist them. Whom resist stedfast in the faith [in all God says] (I Peter 5:9). If you don’t do that, you will always struggle because you are making things harder for yourself and for the Lord.

Multitudes of people throughout history have been defeated by the deceit of Lucifer because they didn’t know him or recognize his tactics, and that is exactly what Satan wants. He will do everything in his power to destroy your mind, your body and your soul so he can send you to hell; but if you are a child of God, he first has to seduce you.

The deceit of Lucifer can get into people in many different ways, and you will find them all in the Word of God. You must study it and know what Lucifer’s deceiving, seducing spirits have done in the past so you will understand how they will come against you today. Only then will you have the divine knowledge and strength you need to overcome the devil.

I didn’t learn about the deceit of Lucifer from man. God taught it to me through the Holy Ghost, the divine teacher and guide; and He wants to teach you, too. But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you (John 14:26). Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come (John 16:13).

Lucifer is the arch deceiver, and he seeks to seduce even the very elect of God; but you don’t have to be one of them if you will use the power God gives you to defeat him. For false Christs and false prophets shall rise, and shall shew signs and wonders, to seduce, if it were possible, even the elect. But take ye heed: behold, I have foretold you all things (Mark 13:22,23). Only by applying the Word of God to your heart and life every day will you be able to recognize the deceit of Lucifer.

Beware of Innocent-looking Deceivers

You may study so much about God, but you must also study the devil and his ways so you will never take even one step with him. Eve took the first step with the devil when she listened to him, and that led to her being seduced. Eve knew what God had said about the evil tree and its forbidden fruit. And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die (Genesis 2:16,17).

When the serpent was tempting Eve with the forbidden fruit, he may have told her, “Don’t worry, Eve; you’re only going to look.” But when she looked, she saw fruit that appeared to be more beautiful than any she had ever seen; and she was seduced. The eyes have been called the windows to the soul, and demons can enter through the eyes and go right into a person’s soul. The devil seduced Eve through her eyes, so you have to be very careful what you look at.

Eve not only looked at the fruit, she also ate it. Then she went to tell Adam all about it, and he listened. And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat (Genesis 3:6).

Adam had never experienced deceit before, and I’m sure he never expected to find any in Eve. Adam may have had a defense against the serpent, but he had no defense against Eve.

Spreading deceit through people you would never suspect to carry it is one of Lucifer’s great tactics. He knows the people who will have great influence over you, so you have to decide that you will not go against God’s holy Word no matter who tries to convince you otherwise or how innocent the deceit looks. Some parents even allow their own children to seduce them and hinder their walk with God.

Satan Knows How to Draw You

The devil doesn’t choose something that is distasteful as bait for his deceit; he chooses people or things that are pleasant to the eyes and to the flesh. He has used that same tactic again and again to defeat many of God’s mighty warriors throughout the ages, even some whom it seemed would be impossible to fool; and he is still fooling people today.

Satan digs a deep pit and then conceals its danger so only the pleasant, appealing and seemingly harmless parts shine through. He wants to make you think his way is perfectly innocent; so he’ll lie and say, “There is no harm in just looking or touching.” He and his seducing spirits paint beautiful pictures for the flesh to cover up the tragic outcome.

If the devil would reveal his whole destructive plan from beginning to end, you would run from him; but his spirits reveal only what is pleasant to the eyes and soothing to the flesh to distract you from fulfilling God’s mission. You may think you are not going to get involved; but when you look and your spirit caresses what your eyes have taken in, you become contaminated.

Are you allowing the devil to get your attention in any way, or are you keeping your eyes only on what God has said? The Bible says, For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world (I John 2:16). You can’t have both God and the world.

Only by listening to what God says will you stay on the right path and be ready for the one flight out. Jesus is only coming for those who are spotless. That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish (Ephesians 5:27).

A blemish can be so tiny that it would take a magnifying glass to see it, but it will still keep you from being changed when Jesus comes. Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed (I Corinthians 15:51,52).

Beware of Forbidden Fruit

You can’t listen to or fellowship with the devil at all in this final hour. You can’t allow the devil to control your mind or spirit for even a moment, or your anointing will begin to lift; and he will rob you of God’s power.

Jesus compared Lucifer to a thief when He said, The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy (John 10:10). The devil seeks to steal all of your blessings and then destroy you completely. At times, he will use the actions of others to steal God’s joy and peace from you, and he will even use your own companion if he or she allows him to. But no matter what he tries, you must always look to Jesus who said, I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly (John 10:10).

You always have to be on guard because the devil will attempt to rob and seduce you in such little ways that you can easily think his ideas are your own thoughts. You may feel the Lord isn’t blessing you as much as He is blessing others when He actually is. As quickly as God delivers His love to you, the devil steals it and deceives you into thinking that the promises and blessings of God aren’t real or that they are only meant for others. Then he will direct your attention to forbidden fruit.

Adam and Eve were very aware of which fruit was forbidden, and you are, too; so why do you seek it? The devil is the one who makes you think you can handle small diversions from God’s truth such as disobeying God just a little bit or compromising with the world. Just one look away from what God has said can cause you to lose every anointing God has ever given you.

The Bible says, Take us the foxes, the little foxes, that spoil the vines: for our vines have tender grapes (Song of Solomon 2:15). In nature, it is not the big foxes but the little foxes that spoil the vines. They can’t reach the grapes, so they gnaw on the roots of the vine; and that kills it.

Live Above Reproach

God gave His Only Begotten Son so all people could have a way to overcome the flesh. When God sees you circling the tree of forbidden fruit and ignoring the great sacrifice He and His Son made, He must be so grieved.

If Eve had not lingered around the forbidden fruit, things might have been different; but Adam and Eve lost everything for themselves and for the whole human race. When you are seduced, you not only destroy your own life but also the lives of others who never may have thought of doing anything wrong until you came along.

God requires great discipline in this final hour; and He won’t tolerate those who toy with forbidden fruit, interpret the Word of God their own way or do things against the Word and still claim to be born again. This is the hour of blaspheming against the Holy Ghost, and many people have already done that. There is an all-out war going on between God and Satan, and we are all in the midst of the raging battle.

You must live in a way that won’t hinder anyone. If someone you know goes to hell, it must not be because you led the person astray and started him on the wrong road. You must never speak deceitful words, only words of divine love, peace, kindness and joy. Your actions must always be pure and holy in the eyes of Almighty God.

No Middle Ground

Do you seek the company of unbelievers or strike up relationships with those who are off limits to you in the eyes of God? You may think, “I’m not going to do anything wrong.” But you are getting involved with forbidden fruit, which opens you up to seducing spirits; and then the destruction takes place.

If you are born again and Spirit-filled in this final hour, you won’t play around with anyone or anything that God says is off limits. You won’t wink, flirt, tease or tantalize the wrong people because your ego will be crucified by the Holy Spirit as you yield to Him. Nevertheless, I see many so-called Christians who are full of ego, and it will take you over if you allow it to.

You have to guard your eyes and your ears because people can seduce you without you even realizing what is happening to you. If someone says anything to you against God and His power, you should hang up the phone at once or get away from them. You may be worried that it will hurt their feelings, but people like that need to be hurt.

Some people think it is a challenge to straddle the fence, but God let me know that the time would come when nobody would be able to do that; and that time is now. The powers of God and the devil are so strong that people will either go all the way with God or all the way with the devil. If you are looking at the wrong things, you may not plan to go all the way into the sin of the world; but that is exactly where the devil will lead you.

Many have been destroyed as they looked back and flirted just a little with the world because the world flirted back and wooed them away from the Spirit of God. Just one little look seemed like such a small thing, but it led to the damnation of their soul. If you claim to be a child of God yet are hiding away and acting against God’s will, you won’t get by with it forever because God knows about it; and one day, you will be thrown into the fire.

Check your life daily. If you are listening to or watching anything that is against the Spirit of God or even spending too much time listening to the world’s opinions, you will be seduced before you even realize it. That is why the Lord tells His children to separate from the world. Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you (II Corinthians 6:17). You have to leave everything of the world behind so your spirit will be pure, pure, pure.

Many people have accepted the false way of seducing spirits while still claiming to be right with God, but they are speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron (I Timothy 4:2). That is fearful! When your conscience is seared as with a hot iron, you can never again have a mind to believe God.

Depend Only on God

You can easily be seduced by finding security in the wrong things. Through John the Revelator, Jesus said to one of the seven churches in the Book of Revelation, Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked (Revelation 3:17). You can’t allow yourself to find any security in houses, lands and material things or what man thinks of you. God must be your sole source of supply, and only what He thinks of you matters. Lasting joy only comes from being a servant of the Lord and pleasing Him.

Some people say they don’t need to worry about seducing spirits because they are a Christian who has been in the faith for years. Well, they may be a Christian, but they are still human; and seducing spirits appeal to every kind of human weakness. They know everything about you, and they will continually try to get you to depart from the true faith.

Seducing spirits attack powerfully; but they don’t just try to seduce you in obvious ways, such as through fornication or adultery. They will try to hinder your walk with God in even the tiniest way by convincing you to let up on your prayer time, your church attendance, your fasting or anything else you do for God. You may be rejoicing over a great victory you have just won in the Lord when seducing spirits move in to lie about that victory. They will try anything they can to draw you away from your faithfulness to God.

Many people have been defeated in their prayer lives because they weren’t aware that the devil and his demons were hindering them. Parts of their minds were being drawn to problems they were facing or other things that needed to be done, and they didn’t realize where those thoughts were coming from. That is why seducing spirits are so dangerous.

Lies Are Destructive

Seducing spirits are lying spirits, and they tell lies that sound completely believable; so you must never listen to them. Those spirits come straight from the devil, and Jesus said Satan is the father of lies. He [the devil] was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it (John 8:44).

There is no truth whatsoever in the devil; and if you tell lies of any kind, you don’t belong to God. He hates liars, and He will not let them stay among His people. He that worketh deceit shall not dwell within my house: he that telleth lies shall not tarry in my sight (Psalm 101:7). All liars will receive their just reward one day. A false witness shall not be unpunished, and he that speaketh lies shall perish (Proverbs 19:9).

The Bible plainly says that all liars, both men and devils, will be cast into the lake of fire. But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whore-mongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death (Revelation 21:8).

Always remember that just one lie brought death upon the whole human race. Wherefore, as by one man [Adam] sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned (Romans 5:12) At the end of every lie, you will find death and damnation no matter how innocent the lie may appear to be. If you speak a lie, you will be on your road to hell; and if you follow a lie, it will destroy you.

You must always be on guard for lying, seducing spirits no matter who you are or where you stand in the Lord. Lying spirits will even try to work their way into your mind when you are preaching or testifying under the anointing of God and try to persuade you to move in the wrong way. You may think that you never will; but if they can get your mind bogged down even just a tiny bit, they are winning.

Seduction Begins in the Mind

The mission of seducing spirits is to convince you to follow the wrong path by offering you a temptation that appeals to your flesh, and that temptation can be anything you will respond to. Their goal is to get to your soul; but if you are a child of God, your soul is hedged in with the divine blood, so they can only get in through your mind. That is where you make all the decisions for your soul, and the only way you can defeat the lies of seducing spirits when they attack your mind is through pure, Bible truth.

Seducing spirits seek to undermine your faith in God by making you question how you can really believe in things you can’t see or feel. That is a direct attack on divine faith, and they hate that faith because it gives God’s children victory over the world. For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith (I John 5:4).

Deceiving spirits will try to make you dissatisfied with ministers who preach the truth and convince you to turn against them. Then those deceiving devils will drag you out from among God’s people and away from the true power of God. As you follow that path of deceit, you will become separated from God completely; and that is exactly what the devil wants.

Seduction Spreads to Others

Seducing spirits cause people who are under their influence to act in a particular way, and then those spirits mock and make fun of the person they are seducing. The devil laughs as his lust for power and control is being fed, but the person under his influence doesn’t even realize he is being mocked. When those people become possessed, they become Satan’s puppets to do whatever he wants them to; and he loves the power he has over them.

Take note that there is a distinct difference between being under the influence of seducing spirits and being possessed by them, but either situation is dangerous because being under their influence can easily lead to possession. Also, once those spirits possess a person, they then use that person to seduce others; and that has destroyed millions.

Seducing spirits can use possessed people to deceive those around them because they are very convincing. Have you ever been around people who seemed to be able to control your thinking? That is the power of seducing spirits. They make you do what they want without you even realizing it; and many times, you may think that you are doing those things yourself.

Purposely socializing with a person possessed with seducing spirits can influence your mind to such an extent that you will not be able to think clearly. You will be swept into thinking what the possessed person is thinking, and that is exactly what the devil wants. Many who used to belong to God have turned away from the truth because they associated with someone possessed by seducing spirits, and those spirits in turn seduced them.

When anyone is under the influence of a person possessed by seducing spirits, they will have a distorted view of the truth; and talking to them is like trying to talk to a brick wall. Throughout the years, I have tried to warn some people that they were associating with the wrong person; but it fell on deaf ears. I have explained their seduction to them and encouraged them to stay away from those who were influencing them in the wrong ways; but if I was talking about a family member or someone they had known for years, they usually would not listen. Many people have been destroyed because of refusing to believe the truth about others.

Jesus, Our Example

Seducing spirits seek to draw you away from focusing on Jesus and His promises and turn your thoughts to your past hurts; and that leads to feelings of depression, discontentment, insecurity, rejection and being unloved. Do such things describe the members of the bridal company? No.

The Holy Spirit works for good to glorify Christ, but seducing spirits work for destruction to glorify the flesh; and Jesus came to Earth to show us how to overcome them. He allowed Himself to be clothed in a weak wrapper of flesh and was tempted in all points as we are, but He overcame. For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need (Hebrews 4:15,16).

The devil has no boundaries, and he even tempted Jesus when He was in a weakened condition and made promises to Him that he would never keep. When Jesus had fasted for forty days and nights in the wilderness, I’m sure He was hungry; so the devil came to Him and said unto him, If thou be the Son of God, command this stone that it be made bread. And Jesus answered him, saying, It is written, That man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God (Luke 4:3,4).

But the devil did not give up, And the devil, taking him [Jesus] up into an high mountain, shewed unto him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time. And the devil said unto him, All this power will I give thee, and the glory of them: for that is delivered unto me; and to whomsoever I will I give it. If thou therefore wilt worship me, all shall be thine. And Jesus answered and said unto him, Get thee behind me, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve. And he brought him to Jerusalem, and set him on a pinnacle of the temple, and said unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down from hence: For it is written, He shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee: And in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone. And Jesus answering said unto him, It is said, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God (Luke 4:5–12).

At that time, Jesus was Satan’s main target because he knew Jesus was about to bring redemption and life to the world. Satan thought he could seduce Jesus just like he did Adam and Eve, but Jesus didn’t fail.

Jesus Was Filled with the Spirit

One reason Jesus was able to stand against the devil was because He had the Holy Ghost. The Bible tells us that He received Him when John baptized Him. And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him (Matthew 3:16).

Jesus was not just filled with the Holy Ghost, He was full of the Spirit. Jesus being full of the Holy Ghost returned from Jordan, and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness (Luke 4:1).

Because Jesus was an overcomer, we can all be overcomers. No one ever has to bow down to flesh or the devil. After the Early Church Christians had received the Holy Ghost, they had great joy and peace, even in the face of persecutions, because they completely gave themselves to the Lord and to His truth. They were pure and clean, and they followed the victorious example Jesus had set before them.

Those early Christians had no safety in the world, and they didn’t know from one day to the next if they would be killed; but they were secure in being perfectly ready to meet their God. Paul said, For I am ready not to be bound only, but also to die at Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus (Acts 21:13). Today, we must have that same perfect readiness.

God let me know that billions of seducing spirits have been turned loose on the Earth in this last hour, so children of God are going to have to be alert at all times; but don’t let the devil worry you or even talk to you because you have power over him. Never pay attention to him or any of his seducing spirits. You must listen only to what God is telling you today.

Listen to the Spirit

The power you need to identify and ward off seducing spirits comes from the Holy Ghost, and some of the greatest power available from Heaven is given to people when they receive the Holy Ghost. The Bible says, Ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you (Acts 1:8).

After you receive that great power, the Holy Ghost will come upon you and fill you up; and you will speak in tongues as the Spirit gives the utterance. And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance (Acts 2:4).

You must want and seek for that Holy Ghost power; and once you receive it, it is up to you to stay full of the Spirit. How?—by listening only to truth. If you don’t know whether or not what you are hearing at any one time is truth, the Holy Ghost, who is the Spirit of Truth, will let you know if you will listen to Him. The Bible says seven times in the Book of Revelation, He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches (Revelation 2:7,11,17,29; 3:6,13,22).

Yielding to the Spirit of Truth is what will keep you safe from the deceit of seducing spirits and bring you victory, so you must be led by Him and allow Him to draw you away from anything that is contrary to the truth. He will help you to recognize seducing spirits no matter who or where they are coming from so you will not fall into their trap. However, if you are interested in the wrong powers of influence more than you love the truth of God, you will never have the clear thinking or the liberty that comes only from the Holy Ghost. Even one tiny seed of deceit registers with God, so you may deceive yourself; but you can’t deceive God.

The Spirit must be the one who is in control of your life if you want true freedom and happiness. The Bible says, Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty (II Corinthians 3:17). The Holy Spirit must be within you, and you must yield to Him at all times. Then you will have it made. As God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people (II Corinthians 6:16).

Always Guard Your Mind

There are no guarantees on this Earth that you can’t be seduced. You may have a pure heart, but you have to guard that pure heart with blood truth and the holiness of God. The Bible says, Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord (Hebrews 12:14).

Only the truth of God can protect you because only truth destroys all deceit. That is why the devil strives to divert you from the truth of God and from the truth about yourself. He is so cunning that even some of the angels in Heaven fell victim to his deceit and sinned against God. God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell, and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment (II Peter 2:4).

Lucifer was one of the most beautiful angels in Heaven, but he became full of ego and set himself up to be greater than God. He lied and was able to deceive holy, angelic beings whom God had made. Then God cast Lucifer and the angels who followed him out of Heaven. If God cast angels out of Heaven because they followed a lie and allowed deceit to enter their hearts, then don’t think that God will not cast you into hell if you lie or allow yourself to be contaminated with deceit.

If you are a devout child of God, seducing spirits will attempt to feed you lies about yourself, your salvation, your relationship with God and the Holy Ghost baptism. They will try to belittle you and discourage you so you will give up, but their accusations will be very subtle and include at least some truth to try to prevent you from discerning them.

Seducing spirits work so carefully to throw you off their trail and make you think the thoughts you are having are your own or that the Lord is the one who is condemning you. Then battles of the mind start, and the devil is happy that you are distracted from the truth.

Once the devil has your attention, he can influence you more and more with his lies and half-truths. If you don’t immediately start feeding your mind the truth, the devil’s seducing spirits will keep after you with one lie after another until they wear you down. Then you will become so weary from fighting in your own strength that you will give up.

Know Your Weaknesses

Seducing spirits always appeal to the weaknesses of your flesh, and that is how they get such a stronghold in your life; so you can never combat them through the flesh. You have to fight with the Word and the Spirit of Truth just like Jesus did. When the devil went after Him, He said, It is written [in the Word], Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God (Matthew 4:4).

The Word is the truth; and Jesus said, Ye shall know the truth [and keep it], and the truth shall make you free (John 8:32). Truth is the only remedy for seducing spirits; so if any spirit tries to lead you away from the liberating power of God, shut it down immediately with divine, absolute truth.

When seducing spirits came against Samson, he did not use the truth of God on them; and the results were devastating. At first, Samson was completely consecrated to God; and the Bible tells of how Samson defeated the enemies of God again and again with great strength from the Lord.

At one time, the Gazites had Samson surrounded; and they waited for the morning to come so they could kill him, but God and Samson didn’t let that happen. And Samson lay till midnight, and arose at midnight, and took the doors of the gate of the city, and the two posts, and went away with them, bar and all, and put them upon his shoulders, and carried them up to the top of an hill that is before Hebron (Judges 16:3).

Only through God’s strength could Samson have done that. God has all power; and that power enabled Samson to pick up those gates like they were matchsticks, place them on his shoulders and escape to the top of a mountain. It was a great victory!

Never Play Games with Spirits

The devil hates it when victories are won for God, and he gets tired of being overpowered and losing battles; so he sends seducing spirits to tempt and weaken the source that is causing so much havoc to his kingdom. After Samson’s victory, the devil had enough of him; so he sent seducing spirits after him to find the source of his power and destroy it.

The devil’s deceiving spirits began by using something that appealed to Samson’s flesh—Delilah. And the lords of the Philistines came up unto her [Delilah], and said unto her, Entice him [Samson], and see wherein his great strength lieth, and by what means we may prevail against him, that we may bind him to afflict him; and we will give thee every one of us eleven hundred pieces of silver (Judges 16:5).

Delilah agreed, and then the seduction started. And Delilah said to Samson, Tell me, I pray thee, wherein thy great strength lieth, and wherewith thou mightest be bound to afflict thee. And Samson said unto her, If they bind me with seven green withs that were never dried, then shall I be weak, and be as another man. Then the lords of the Philistines brought up to her seven green withs which had not been dried, and she bound him with them (Judges 16:6–8).

Samson knew that his long hair was what consecrated him to God, yet he did not shut out the person who was trying to take away that consecration. He didn’t want to admit that Delilah was being deceitful because he had fleshly desires for her, so he tried to handle her on his own. He had looked to the Lord for so many victories, but he did not look to God to help him overcome Delilah. As he continued to stay around those seducing spirits, they were able to influence him more and more.

At first, Samson answered Delilah with lies to throw her off course and buy more time with her. He thought it was just a fun thing; and because the devil had deceived him, he could not see that he was playing with deadly fire. The devil kept assuring Samson that he could handle Delilah’s seduction as his spirits continued to work undercover through her.

Finally, Samson gave in and told Delilah what she wanted to know. And it came to pass, when she [Delilah] pressed him [Samson] daily with her words, and urged him, so that his soul was vexed unto death; That he told her all his heart, and said unto her, There hath not come a razor upon mine head; for I have been a Nazarite unto God from my mother’s womb: if I be shaven, then my strength will go from me, and I shall become weak, and be like any other man (Judges 16:16,17).

Those seducing spirits wore Samson down until he had a “don’t care” attitude, and that is deadly. If he had never stayed around those spirits in the first place and had focused only on God’s truth, he never would have become so weak and worn down. Weak flesh surrenders quickly to seducing spirits.

Samson Failed

When Samson finally told Delilah the truth, she sent for Philistine lords to come and shave his head while he slept. Then Delilah cried, The Philistines be upon thee, Samson. And he awoke out of his sleep, and said, I will go out as at other times before, and shake myself. And he wist not that the LORD was departed from him (Judges 16:20). Samson had been beaten down and deceived, yet he still thought he had power with God; but that proved to be wrong.

But the Philistines took him, and put out his eyes, and brought him down to Gaza, and bound him with fetters of brass; and he did grind in the prison house (Judges 16:21). Samson had tried to fight the enemy in his own strength, and he failed miserably. Instead of fulfilling God’s divine mission, he paid dearly for his mistakes. You must not let that happen to you.

The story of Samson’s seduction paints a clear picture of the power of seducing spirits and how they work to destroy people. The devil doesn’t like it when you are winning victories for the Lord and causing havoc in his kingdom. He doesn’t like to be uncovered in any way; so he will send his seducing spirits after you to try to bind you, afflict you and ultimately destroy you.

When Satan’s spirits are attacking you, never be like Samson and think you can handle them with your own strength just because you have won victories through God’s strength in the past. You must know that you can’t fight back with anything but God’s truth.

Many people today think they can listen to the devil and still have power with God, but that is not so. You must never listen to seducing spirits let alone try to reason with them or find a way around them. You have to immediately cut them off with truth—that is the only way you are going to defeat them and fulfill your mission for God. God has a plan for every life; and He offers you His strength, His power and His love to fulfill that plan.

Never Fear the Devil

Don’t allow yourself to get discouraged when you are being targeted by the devil; just know that he hates you because you are a threat to his kingdom. You scare him, so don’t let him scare you. When you have battles of the mind that get you down, it is because you are afraid; so you have to get rid of that fear. The Bible declares, There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear (I John 4:18).

Today, the Bride of Christ is the devil’s main target because the members of the bridal company are the greatest threat to his kingdom. We have the blood of Jesus that enables us to trample devils underfoot, and Satan knows that. Jesus said, Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you (Luke 10:19).

When you are filled with the Holy Ghost, you have power from On High to defeat the devil and be a powerful witness for the Lord. Jesus said, Behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high (Luke 24:49).

You must beware of the deceit and lies the devil and his seducing spirits bring to you and of the promises he will make that he cannot keep. You can get rid of those spirits when you follow Jesus with your whole heart. He said, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me (Matthew 16:24). The Bible also says, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh (Galatians 5:16).

Uncover Seducing Spirits

Now the Spirit speaketh expressly [plainly], that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils (I Timothy 4:1). Why do people listen to those spirits in the first place?—because they don’t know how the devil and his demons work undercover to deceive them. If people could see how ugly those spirits really are, they would resist them immediately; and the spirits know that, so they come in deceitful disguises.

If the devil had revealed to King David ahead of time all that was going to happen to him when he reached out for another man’s wife, he would have turned away; but David let down his guard. David had no reason to be dissatisfied with all that he had, but seducing spirits made him feel that way when he kept his eyes on forbidden fruit.

And it came to pass in an eveningtide, that David arose from off his bed, and walked upon the roof of the king’s house: and from the roof he saw a woman washing herself; and the woman was very beautiful to look upon. And David sent and inquired after the woman. And one said, Is not this Bathsheba, the daughter of Eliam, the wife of Uriah the Hittite? And David sent messengers, and took her; and she came in unto him, and he lay with her (II Samuel 11:2–4).

Seducing spirits lied to David and told him there was nothing wrong with just looking at Bathsheba, but what if those spirits had told David the whole truth? They could have said, “You are going to commit adultery and get another man’s wife pregnant. Then you are going to try to hide your sin by having that woman’s husband killed.” But, of course, those spirits did not say any of those things, so David listened to them and followed what they wanted.

Seducing spirits will lie to you, too. They will tell you that you need one more thing to make you happy or that you need to leave your godly home or church so you can have freedom, but you had better not listen to them.

God had given David great wealth and power, yet he still wanted something else that was forbidden; and God was not happy. Later, He used Nathan to uncover David’s sin. Wherefore hast thou despised the commandment of the LORD, to do evil in his sight? thou hast killed Uriah the Hittite with the sword, and hast taken his wife to be thy wife, and hast slain him with the sword of the children of Ammon. Now therefore the sword shall never depart from thine house; because thou hast despised me, and hast taken the wife of Uriah the Hittite to be thy wife (II Samuel 12:9,10).

Unlike David, you must be on guard when you start to feel dissatisfied with the will of God. You must immediately realize that seducing spirits are working undercover to focus your attention on something that God doesn’t want for you and turn away.

Beware of Dissatisfaction

The world today is full of dissatisfied and discontented people who are seeking peace and happiness but can’t find them. They either don’t know or won’t admit that the only true satisfaction and rest for weary souls is in Jesus. He said, I am the way, the truth, and the life (John 14:6). He also said, Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls (Matthew 11:28,29). Jesus wasn’t talking about physical rest for the body; He was talking about rest for the mind and soul.

When seducing spirits come against your mind and seek to make you dissatisfied with working for God and living in His will, you can become stressed; so I want to emphasize again that you can’t use your own strength to combat seducing spirits. Flesh doesn’t have the power to fight against the powers of darkness; and if you try it, you will wear out every time. That is why you have to let Jesus carry your burdens.

The Psalmist tells of how he became dissatisfied in the Lord’s work and allowed seducing spirits to get to him. He had started looking at the ease and prosperity of sinners, and he almost failed God because he was envying the wrong things. Truly God is good to Israel, even to such as are of a clean heart. But as for me, my feet were almost gone; my steps had well nigh slipped. For I was envious at the foolish, when I saw the prosperity of the wicked (Psalm 73:1–3). You too will be dissatisfied if you allow seducing spirits to draw your attention to the wrong things.

Later in that same psalm, the Psalmist tells of his struggle to fight in the flesh. Verily I have cleansed my heart in vain, and washed my hands in innocency. For all the day long have I been plagued, and chastened every morning. If I say, I will speak thus; behold, I should offend against the generation of thy children. When I thought to know this, it was too painful for me; Until I went into the sanctuary of God; then understood I their end (Psalm 73:13–17).

Only through truth did the Psalmist finally realize how foolish he had been to become dissatisfied with the things of God, and the truth set him free. Thus my heart was grieved, and I was pricked in my reins. So foolish was I, and ignorant: I was as a beast before thee…there is none upon earth that I desire beside thee. My flesh and my heart faileth: but God is the strength of my heart, and my portion forever. For, lo, they that are far from thee shall perish: thou hast destroyed all them that go a whoring from thee. But it is good for me to draw near to God: I have put my trust in the Lord GOD, that I may declare all thy works (Psalm 73:21,22,25–28).

You must always seek to get closer to God and never allow dissatisfaction to separate you from Him. At the end of every day, you must make sure you have done everything God wanted you to do.

Keep Your Eyes on God

Child of God, there was a time when you had Satan in your heart, and he made you bow to him; but when you became saved, that was no longer true. Satan had been cast out through the Spirit of the living God and the power in the blood of the Lamb. Now that Lucifer is on the outside, you must keep him there and never give him any of your time or attention. Never let him steal even a tiny bit of your precious anointing because that will hinder the Holy Ghost from directing you and using you like He wants to.

You must turn away from anything that is forbidden, anything that weakens you or tries to persuade you to be disloyal to truth in any way. The only help for people today is Jesus, so you must keep your eyes on Him and make each day a holy day. But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation; Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy (I Peter 1:15,16).

The Lord is weighing you on His scales, not just for one hour or one day but at all times, to reveal whether or not there is anything wrong in your life. The devil knows if you have really given your heart to God, and he is searching for any weaknesses or loopholes in your life. When he finds one, he will send reinforcements to try to destroy you and then use you to destroy others.

The flesh is weak, and it will give in to seducing spirits and reach out for forbidden fruit. That is why the Lord has offered you Himself—so that through your weaknesses, He can make you strong. Paul said, He [the Lord] said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities [trials and persecutions], that the power of Christ may rest upon me (II Corinthians 12:9).

Never Turn Away

Seducing spirits can make people blame God for things that have happened to them. If a loved one dies or a catastrophe strikes, they get angry at God and blame Him; and that is exactly what the devil wants. Seducing spirits convince people that God is responsible for all the evil in the world, and then they justify themselves for not serving Him; but the Bible says, Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning (James 1:17).

Everything in the Bible is truth, but those who give over to seducing spirits no longer want to know the absolute truth. If they did, they would place the blame on the devil where it belongs; but his seducing spirits won’t allow them to do that.

Some who are deceived walk away from the truth completely while others change it to mean whatever they want it to. However, the Bible is the infallible Word of God, and you can’t change one word of it. And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book (Revelation 22:19).

Jesus came and suffered great pain and persecution for you and me; yet through it all, He never let seducing spirits discourage Him, beat Him down or turn Him away from the truth. You must not allow them to get to you either, or they will put you on the path to destruction.

Surely you can now see what a deceiver and a liar Satan is; so if you continue to reach for his deceit, God will leave you alone. And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness (II Thessalonians 2:10–12). When you no longer love the truth, there is nothing more the Lord can do with you.

Satan’s seducing spirits are so powerful that even if people do want to be free from them, it often takes a long time for that deliverance to come…and some are never rescued. So if you feel a pull on your mind that would cut you off from the presence of God in any way, recognize that those are deceiving spirits that want to damn your soul in hell.

Let God Take Over

Before Jesus came, the inhabitants of the Earth had very little knowledge about demonology and seducing spirits; so they were swept into idol worship again and again. Winning the victory over seducing spirits would require the blood that stained the Old Rugged Cross, and there is power in the blood of Jesus over all demonic spirits. You don’t have to be afraid of them because the devil can only hurt you when you give over to him. Jesus said, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth (Matthew 28:18).

Then Jesus promised all of His followers that they too would have all the power they needed to conquer the enemy. He said, Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen (Matthew 28:19,20).

If you are unsaved today, you can turn to Jesus and have that conquering power; but if you remain without it, you are taking a big chance. The enemy has seduced you into thinking you are not going to die without God and that you have a lot of time left to live, but he is a liar.

You are not promised tomorrow. Boast not thyself of tomorrow; for thou knowest not what a day may bring forth (Proverbs 27:1). This could be your final day on Earth, and this could be your final warning. The devil seduces people into thinking they are all right even though they have something in their lives that will carry their souls to hell. I have had people unprepared to meet God walk out of a service for the last time and plunge into eternity.

If you feel imprisoned by the enemy in any way today, you can be delivered. You still have a chance to decide to give your heart to God and follow the paths of righteousness, but you have to move fast. Pray the sinner’s prayer right now: Oh, God, save my soul. I am so sorry that I have failed you. I am sorry that I have disobeyed and sinned against you, but I have come home; and I am going to serve you, Lord, for the rest of my life. I confess that there is power in the blood of Jesus to wash away all of my sins. Come into my heart, Jesus! Come on in, Jesus! If you meant that prayer, Jesus has come; and He is yours.

God Wants to Heal You

If you are sick and afflicted today, God wants to make you well. Remember, He brought thousands of Israelites out of Egypt, but there was not a sick one among them. He brought them forth also with silver and gold: and there was not one feeble person among their tribes (Psalm 105:37). God made them all well, and He wants to make you well, too.

Lord, I bring the sick and afflicted to you today. Lay a healing hand on each one—those who have cancer, heart trouble, AIDS, diabetes, paralysis or any other disease or affliction. Deliverance comes from your supernatural gifts of miracles and healing. In the holy, all-powerful name of Jesus, heal! Deliver them all and make them well in the holy name of Jesus. Amen.

Believe God’s miracle of healing with your whole heart and watch yourself or your loved one get well. Then write or email me and tell me about it so I can thank God for your deliverance.

The God of miracles lives today, and you must recognize His power whenever you see it in action. He is revealing Himself to every person He can in this final hour, so yield to His Spirit every day. We are in the latter times, and many seducing spirits are at work; so be on guard and never let them seduce you.
