When Jesus came to Earth as the babe in the manger, He was human just like you and me. When He became a young man, He was baptized in water by John the Baptist. And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he [John the Baptist] saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him: And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased (Matthew 3:16,17). Jesus was also baptized in the Holy Ghost, and John watched it take place.

As the Son of God, Jesus didn’t need to be baptized in the Holy Ghost; but after taking on human flesh, He did need to be baptized. The Bible tells us that Jesus is our example. Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps (I Peter 2:21). Therefore, if Jesus needed to have the Holy Ghost, so do we.

After that, then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil. And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was afterward an hungered (Matthew 4:1,2).

After that fast was over, we find Jesus in the temple declaring, The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, To preach the acceptable year of the Lord (Luke 4:18,19).

After Jesus had been filled with the Holy Ghost and fasted, He received the anointing of the Lord; and He taught us by example that we can have that same anointing and keep it. If you yield to the power of the Holy Ghost and fast, you can have the anointing of God and do wonders for the Lord.

Use the Jesus Anointing

Just as Jesus declared, the Lord has anointed us to take this Gospel to the world; and there are so many who have not yet heard it. He has sent us to heal the brokenhearted, and the world is full of brokenhearted people. So many are bound by the devil and even devil-possessed, and we have to tell them that God’s power can set them free. His power is stronger than any power of the devil. We have to use the anointing to tell of God’s miracles and healings and take them to those who are suffering.

We have to preach the acceptable year of the Lord. Under the Old Testament Law, every fiftieth year was the year of Jubilee. During that year, all slaves were freed; all debts were forgiven, and the land had rest because everyone had to go the way of the Lord. Ye shall hallow the fiftieth year, and proclaim liberty throughout all the land unto all the inhabitants thereof: it shall be a jubile unto you; and ye shall return every man unto his possession, and ye shall return every man unto his family (Leviticus 25:10).

We have to tell people that the same liberty and freedom are available to all who want them today through the anointing of God. Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty (II Corinthians 3:17).

It is your responsibility to receive that anointing and be ready for God to use you at any time, and that will make you a great soul winner for the Lord. He has marked certain people for each child of God to win, and the souls will cross your path at one time or another. Will you be ready to win the souls marked for you, or will you fail? You must be ready for God to use you at all times.

The Promises and Divine Love

What makes up the anointing of God?—first of all, the truth in the Word. That Word includes all the promises of God, and every one of His promises holds all the power of Heaven; but you have to accept the anointings of the Lord to be able to use His promises and reap the benefits of them.

The devil will try to make you constantly anxious and worried about one thing or another; but the Bible says, Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God (Philippians 4:6). Living in the anointing and in the promises of God will not make you anxious.

The anointing includes divine love. When Jesus was dictating letters to the seven churches in the book of Revelation, He said to the church at Ephesus, I know thy works, and thy labour, and thy patience, and how thou canst not bear them which are evil…and for my name's sake hast laboured, and hast not fainted. Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love. Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent (Revelation 2:2-5).

Jesus was telling those people that if they didn’t seek God’s face to get their first love back, He would remove His power, grace, mercy and so much more out of their reach. That’s how important it is to have God’s love, and the Bible tells us we are nothing without it. Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity [love], I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal. And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing (I Corinthians 13:1,2).

Having true, divine love for one another shows the world you are a disciple of the Lord. By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another (John 13:35).

Great Benefits of the Anointing

You can’t have God’s anointing without divinity, and you can’t have divinity when you are living in your human spirit. Consider forgiveness. Only through divinity can you really forgive anything people do or have done to you and never hold it against them again.

The anointing gives you a heart of praise to the Lord, and He loves to be praised. Praise the LORD; for the LORD is good: sing praises unto his name (Psalm 135:3). The greatest cure for any sickness, problem or trial is praising the Lord with your whole heart.

When you live in the anointing of God, He will walk with you every minute of every day. Jesus said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee (Hebrews 13:5). He will teach you all things you need to know. But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth (I John 2:27). The Lord gave us the Holy Ghost to anoint us and keep us anointed.

The anointing brings miracles and healings; and when Jesus was in the midst of the people, the presence of the Lord was there to heal them. And it came to pass on a certain day, as he [Jesus] was teaching, that there were Pharisees and doctors of the law sitting by, which were come out of every town of Galilee, and Judaea, and Jerusalem: and the power of the Lord was present to heal them (Luke 5:17). The anointing is the presence of the Lord, and that divine presence heals.

Jesus confirmed that we too can have the divine anointing when He said, These signs shall follow them that believe…they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover (Mark 16:17,18). That promise belongs to the children of God, and the anointing is yours if you want it and will live holy.

Walk in the Spirit

You will find the divine fruits of the Holy Spirit in the anointing of God. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering [patience], gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance [self-control]: against such there is no law (Galatians 5:22,23).

How often do you check to see if you have all nine of these fruits being manifested in your life? Do you really have divine patience and longsuffering? Are you willing to wait on the Lord and suffer for His name’s sake?

When you are ready to do God’s work no matter what it is, He will anoint you to do it; but many so-called Christians have lost the anointing of God just like the Bible said they would. Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition (II Thessalonians 2:3). That falling away is happening now, and the deceit of the world church is taking over.

The true children of God will not give over to deceit and walk in the flesh. And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit (Galatians 5:24,25).

You can’t live in the presence of God with any deceit or sin in your life. The Bible says, The soul that sinneth, it shall die (Ezekiel 18:20). God is not talking about just outward sin but sin of any kind, whether it is hidden or not. For the LORD seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the LORD looketh on the heart (I Samuel 16:7). God hears and sees everything you say and do.

Take God’s Direction

The anointing is full of God’s grace, which is all the favor of God; and it will give you the perfect plan of God for your life. Noah and his family lived in a civilization full of so much sin, but Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD (Genesis 6:8). He then found the perfect will of God for his life and yielded to it. Unfortunately, many people today will not yield to God’s will.

The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of truth; and Jesus said, When he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth (John 16:13). That anointing of truth will make your paths plain. Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths (Proverbs 3:5,6).

God can only direct you if you listen to Him, and you can’t mix any of self’s ideas or desires in with God’s directions. You may decide to go God’s way; but later, you may allow self or others to make you wish you had done something else. God is not pleased with that attitude. Some people decide to pray after they have already made a decision or bought something, but it is too late then. You must pray first. Only then can God direct you.

You must have the infilling of the Holy Spirit to be directed by the Lord in all things. Peter and many of the other disciples failed God until they received the Holy Ghost. After Jesus was resurrected, He stayed on the Earth for forty days to give the disciples more understanding of the Holy Ghost and the anointing He had used as a man.

Before He ascended to Heaven, He told them, Behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high (Luke 24:49). Still today, it will take Holy Ghost-baptized preachers in the pulpits to get people ready for the Rapture. Unfortunately, there are very few of them.

Saints Who Lived in the Anointing

Study what the anointing of God did for young David. He told King Saul, Thy servant slew both the lion and the bear (I Samuel 17:36). He did those things through the anointing. Then he killed the Philistine giant, Goliath, with just one stone and a sling. When Goliath began to approach David, he put his hand in his bag, and took thence a stone, and slang it, and smote the Philistine in his forehead, that the stone sunk into his forehead; and he fell upon his face to the earth. So David prevailed over the Philistine with a sling and with a stone, and smote the Philistine, and slew him (I Samuel 17:49,50). God can use young people who live in the anointing and serve Him with their whole heart.

Joseph accepted God’s plan for his life when he was just a boy, but then his jealous brothers sold him into slavery. He ended up in Egypt and endured a lot of persecution, but he was faithful to the Lord; and God eventually raised him up to be second in power over all of Egypt. And the patriarchs, moved with envy, sold Joseph into Egypt: but God was with him, And delivered him out of all his afflictions, and gave him favour and wisdom in the sight of Pharaoh king of Egypt; and he made him governor over Egypt and all his house (Acts 7:9,10).

Later, when there was a great famine in the land, Joseph was able to provide food for his family throughout the duration of the famine; and he became the savior for his people. That is what the anointing can do.

Joshua lived in the anointing of God; and shortly before Moses died, God directed him to choose Joshua to lead the children of Israel into the land of Canaan. Unfortunately, the Israelites continued to be disobedient just as they had been for Moses; and Joshua finally told them, Choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD (Joshua 24:15). Joshua was steadfast and unmovable, and you can be that way too with the anointing of God.

Gideon was such a great example of holy surrender to the Lord that an angel appeared unto him and said, The LORD is with thee, thou mighty man of valour. And Gideon said unto him, Oh my Lord, if the LORD be with us, why then is all this befallen us? and where be all his miracles which our fathers told us of (Judges 6:12,13)?

God then had to teach Gideon where the miracles were through a great trial of his faith; but because Gideon lived in the anointing, he eventually won a great battle for the Lord and Israel. Like Gideon, you have to get to the place where you see only the plan of God, and no person or devil can talk you out of it.

You Can Reach God Anytime

When you live in the anointing, you can please God too; and you can reach Him at any time. Jesus set up a blood line straight to the throne of God when He gave His life on Calvary. He used that blood line through the anointing when He was on Earth; and that’s why He could say, Father, I thank thee that thou hast heard me. And I knew that thou hearest me always (John 11:41,42). Jesus’ death made that blood line available to everyone. You must use it and know that God always hears you.

Sometimes, it takes Bible fasting to reach God, and that is more than just going without food. You have to spend time with God instead of time at the table, and you have to keep your mind on Him. You have to “eat” the Word instead of food. Thy words were found, and I did eat them; and thy word was unto me the joy and rejoicing of mine heart (Jeremiah 15:16).

Jesus fasted; and He said, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God (Matthew 4:4). Fasting humbles you and puts self down like nothing else can, yet many Christians and even preachers no longer fast. That is so sad because it leaves them powerless in the hands of the devil. Jesus said, If the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into the ditch (Matthew 15:14). Those who are spiritually blind will find themselves in hell.

Carry the Presence with You

Jesus carried the presence of God with Him all the time. That enabled Him to do so much work for His Father and make a huge difference in the lives of many people. You can do the same thing when you live in the anointing night and day.

After the Early Church disciples had received the Holy Ghost and begun fasting, the anointing made the difference for them too. They went everywhere preaching the Gospel of Christ; and the Bible describes them as these that have turned the world upside down (Acts 17:6).

You must get to the place where you won’t go anywhere or do anything unless the anointing goes with you. That means you don’t voluntarily watch, read or participate in anything unless the anointing is with you; and you will separate from those you should not be around. Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you (II Corinthians 6:17).

Note that separating doesn’t give you a license to be mean or uncaring toward others. Jesus said, Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves (Matthew 10:16).

What the Anointing Can Do

The Gospel must go to the world before Jesus returns, and the Lord is anointing each member of the bridal company to be able to help do that. He is anointing our eyes to see as Jesus saw and our tongues to speak like He spoke. He is anointing us with His truth, righteousness and great understanding.

When you live in the anointing, you will think on these things: Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things (Philippians 4:8). Those six things will help see you through anything you will face. Bad thoughts will always come to your mind, but a good thought can shoot down a bad one every time.

The anointing makes a world of difference in your walk with the Lord. It gives much-needed rest to the weary soul and quickens your mind and body. It breaks bondages nothing else can break and separates you from the world. God told Moses, My presence shall go with thee, and I will give thee rest. And he [Moses] said unto him, If thy presence go not with me, carry us not up hence…so shall we be separated, I and thy people, from all the people that are upon the face of the earth (Exodus 33:14-16). Moses knew how important God’s anointing was.

You may wonder how you can have rest when life is filled with trials and you are so busy working for the Lord; and the answer is through the anointing, the presence of God. In it you will find all the power, love and glory of God you will ever need.

The anointing is not feelings or emotions. You can’t judge whether or not you have the anointing by how you feel. The anointing is always strong and never fragile. If you treasure the anointing and use it, it will be a great stabilizer to your feelings and emotions.

The Anointing Clears Your Mind

The anointing will make the difference in your life every moment of every day if you live in His presence. It will break every bondage for you. And it shall come to pass in that day, that his burden shall be taken away from off thy shoulder, and his yoke from off thy neck, and the yoke shall be destroyed because of the anointing (Isaiah 10:27).

The anointing will enable you to take your burdens to the Lord. Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest (Matthew 11:28). You will never receive deliverance from your burdens without the anointing.

How many battles have you lost because you didn’t have the anointing? You went forward in your own thoughts and your own might, and you failed. It takes living close to God to keep the anointing working in your life, and you have to realize your need for it at all times. You have to know that you can’t do God’s work without it.

Without the divine anointing, you will walk after your own thoughts, depend on yourself or others and make decisions through feelings and emotions. You will live in confusion and always be asking, “God, where are you?” You will make excuses for yourself and others and secretly despise those who are carrying the anointing and going deeper in the Lord. Also, you won’t want any part of the discipline of the Holy Ghost.

The anointing clears your mind and changes your thought life. Suddenly, issues that seemed to be overwhelming and confusing are brought into godly perspective. The anointing includes God’s wisdom and knowledge, which will help you avoid making foolish decisions and mistakes that you will later regret; but you must be conscious of Him being there. Only then will you always be alright.

The anointing helps you face all your problems without fear or going into panic mode, and it brings you out victoriously. You could be facing a trial of your faith, persecution, horrible lies being told about you or even the death of a loved one; but God will always bring you out when you turn everything over to Him. The quicker you do that, the quicker you will rise to your feet and move forward with the Lord.

See as God Sees

Through the anointing, you can have spiritual vision from Earth to Heaven and see things as God sees them. Paul said, For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known (I Corinthians 13:12).

The members of the Bride of Christ will see that Rapture ground is just ahead. They are watching for Jesus to come any day now, and He said He would be coming for those who are watching for Him. Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh (Matthew 25:13). Blessed are those servants, whom the lord when he cometh shall find watching: verily I say unto you, that he shall gird himself, and make them to sit down to meat, and will come forth and serve them (Luke 12:37).

Those without spiritual vision do not see things God’s way. When it comes to the Rapture, they say, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation (II Peter 3:4). That is a lie because things here on Earth change all the time. Do you see the Rapture as God sees it?

Accept the Anointing for Salvation

You will never have the anointing of God in your life unless you accept Jesus into your heart. Don’t you want to reap all the benefits of the anointing? This message has included just some of them, but there are many more.

If you are a sinner or a backslider today, it’s time to come to Jesus. You can be set free if you will give yourself to the Lord, so lift your hands right now and say this prayer: Oh, God, save my soul. I am so sorry that I sinned against you. I do believe you are divine and were born of the Virgin Mary. I believe you came to Earth with divine blood and gave it at Calvary so I could be saved. You are my sin-bearer and sickness-bearer, and I believe I am saved from all sin through the blood that stained the Old Rugged Cross. Come into my heart, Jesus! Come on in!

If you really gave yourself to Jesus and believe you belong to Him, you can say, Hallelujah! I belong to Jesus. He is my Master and King! He is on the throne of my heart, and He will be there for the rest of my life! This is the first step in receiving the anointing of God. Now, you must go on to receive the baptism of the Holy Ghost and start doing some Bible fasting as well.

Accept the Anointing for Healing

When you take the divine anointing in the name of Jesus, you can be made whole all over. That anointing will break all of your yokes—physical, spiritual and financial—and that is the Lord’s will for you. Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth (III John 1:2).

When Jesus was here, He healed sinners; but He told them to go and sin no more, lest a worse thing come unto thee (John 5:14). You can’t receive a miracle from the Lord and then knowingly continue living in sin or you may not keep your miracle.

Lord, I bring those who are sick and afflicted to you today. Some of them may have cancer, heart trouble, AIDS, arthritis, paralysis or some other deadly disease. Others may need miracles of recreation. You have healed so many thousands of people through this Jesus ministry, and I know you will do it again. You will give hearing to the deaf, sight to the blind and make lame children walk. I thank you for all the miracles you have given through this Jesus ministry, and I know you will make the people well today. Heal! in the all-powerful, blood name of Jesus. Heal!

The healing power is flowing right now. Accept it and be made whole. Then praise and glorify the Lord for every change and expect everything to come to normal. I will praise thee, O LORD, with my whole heart; I will shew forth all thy marvellous works (Psalm 9:1).

God bless you today. Live in the anointing, and I will see you in Heaven.
