The Amazing Jesus
by Ernest Angley
September 2011
The Bible is full of so many amazing people; but none of them can compare to our amazing Jesus, our tree of life. God originally placed the tree of life in Eden so Adam and Eve could partake of its fruit and live forever. If they hadn’t sinned, we would still have that fruit available to us today; but they threw it all away.
What happened to the tree of life?—The Lord had to take it out of the Garden and move it to Heaven. Now, our tree of life is Jesus, and He supplies everything we need. He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God (Revelation 2:7).
The Saving Christ
Christ’s very birth was amazing; He was born of a virgin. Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us (Matthew 1:23). The power of the Holy Ghost overshadowed Mary, and divine blood flowed in her Son’s veins.
That divine child brought salvation for our souls. She shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins (Matthew 1:21). No one had ever been able to forgive sins until Jesus came as our forgiver. John the Baptist said, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world (John 1:29). Jesus told Nicodemus that he must be born again. Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God (John 3:3).
To be born again, you have to see the amazing Jesus through His divine blood. Then you must let the Holy Spirit apply that blood to your heart so it can wash away all of your sins and make you a brand-new person. And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness (Ephesians 4:24).
As a new creature, you have to leave the world behind. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God (Romans 12:2). When Jesus was here, He never committed one sin the whole time He was on Earth; and He’s our example. For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps: Who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth (I Peter 2:21,22).
The Healing Christ
The Bible tells us that Jesus is not only our sin-bearer but also our sickness-bearer. During His ministry, Jesus healed all manner of sicknesses and diseases. And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all manner of sickness and all manner of disease among the people (Matthew 4:23). Isaiah tells us, But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed (Isaiah 53:5).
Jesus proved that He could both heal and forgive when He was having a miracle service in someone’s house. The people brought to Him a man who had palsy, and there was no cure for that affliction in that day. Because the house was completely filled and a crowd had also gathered outside, they carried the sick man on his bed to the roof of the house, took part of it off and lowered the man down in front of Jesus. And when he [Jesus] saw their faith, he said unto him, Man, thy sins are forgiven thee. And the scribes and the Pharisees [who were present in the crowd] began to reason, saying, Who is this which speaketh blasphemies? Who can forgive sins, but God alone? But when Jesus perceived their thoughts, he answering said unto them, What reason ye in your hearts? Whether is easier, to say, Thy sins be forgiven thee; or to say, Rise up and walk (Luke 5:20-23)?
The Pharisees and Sadducees were being led by the devil, and they were there only to hinder and criticize Jesus; but He spoke up and said, That ye may know that the Son of man hath power upon earth to forgive sins, (he said unto the sick of the palsy,) I say unto thee, Arise, and take up thy couch, and go into thine house. And immediately he rose up before them, and took up that whereon he lay, and departed to his own house, glorifying God (Luke 5:24,25). Jesus had made that man completely whole, and he jumped to his feet. I’m sure people were shocked over that miracle as they beheld the work of the amazing Christ; but unfortunately, that doesn’t mean they changed inside.
The Delivering Christ
Jesus not only healed the sick but also delivered those who were devil possessed. They brought unto him [Jesus] many that were possessed with devils: and he cast out the spirits with his word, and healed all that were sick (Matthew 8:16). The Bible tells us about the Syrophenician woman whose daughter was grievously vexed with devils. And, behold, a woman of Canaan came out of the same coasts, and cried unto him, saying, Have mercy on me, O Lord, thou son of David; my daughter is grievously vexed with a devil. But he answered her not a word. And his disciples came and besought him, saying, Send her away; for she crieth after us. But he answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel. Then came she and worshipped him, saying, Lord, help me. But he answered and said, It is not meet to take the children’s bread, and to cast it to dogs. And she said, Truth, Lord: yet the dogs eat of the crumbs which fall from their masters’ table. Then Jesus answered and said unto her, O woman, great is thy faith: be it unto thee even as thou wilt. And her daughter was made whole from that very hour (Matthew 15:22-28).
This woman’s daughter was so bound by the devil that she couldn’t even bring her to Jesus, but she was on a mission to get help; and her humility touched the heart of Jesus. If you want to touch God’s heart, just humble yourself before the Lord; and you’ll have Heaven’s attention.
When the woman returned home, she found her daughter to be calm, sweet and delivered. That’s how the amazing Jesus dealt with the power of the devil; and today, He has given His true children that same power over the enemy. Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you (Luke 10:19). Not only can we trample him, but we can make him run. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you (James 4:7).
When people and preachers will believe in the amazing Jesus, give their hearts to Him and go on to receive the Holy Ghost baptism, there will be signs, wonders, miracles and healings in their churches. Jesus said, These signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils…they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover (Mark 16:17,18).
The devil fears the divine blood of the amazing Jesus, and it’s Heaven’s greatest weapon for us. Jesus shed that blood on Calvary so we could be absolutely free. If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed (John 8:36).
Jesus, the Man
And being found in fashion as a man, he [Jesus] humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross (Philippians 2:8). Jesus took on the fashion of a man, yet He was very God. He had hands, feet, eyes and ears like we have; and although He also had a human mind like ours, His mind was filled with divine ingredients. The Bible tells us that we can have that same mind. Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus (Philippians 2:5).
The mind of Jesus is willed to each one of us. You will find what makes up that mind in my book The Mind of Christ. If you lack any of those ingredients, Peter said you can add them. And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge; And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness; And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity. For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ (II Peter 1:5-8).
As very man, the amazing Christ met the devil head-on in the wilderness; and He showed us how to overcome him. He gave the devil the Word saying, It is written, That man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God…It is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve…It is said, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God (Luke 4:4,8,12).
The Power of Christ
Jesus was a man, but He was more than just a man; He had power from On High. The disciples saw that power in action when they were out on the sea with Jesus in a great storm. And there arose a great storm of wind, and the waves beat into the ship, so that it was now full. And he [Jesus] was in the hinder part of the ship, asleep on a pillow: and they awake him, and say unto him, Master, carest thou not that we perish (Mark 4:37,38)?
The disciples were scared to death, but Jesus wasn’t afraid. He had all power, and He simply walked over to the edge of the boat and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm (Mark 4:39). That was it; it was all over. Matthew wrote, What manner of man is this, that even the winds and the sea obey him (Matthew 8:27)! That’s the Christ we must love and serve. Jesus said when He was here that it’s impossible to serve two masters. No servant can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon (Luke 16:13).
Speak Only Love
God gave us great, divine love that is far beyond our human love which is weak and fragile in comparison. Divine love will keep you out of sin and keep Jesus within. It will give you working hands and keep all guile out of your mouth.
The Lord said that if you don’t bridle your tongue, your salvation is no good. If any man among you seem to be religious, and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man’s religion is vain (James 1:26). The first thing the Lord does when He washes away your sins is to give you a tongue of divine love, the same kind of tongue that Jesus had. With a tongue like that, you won’t talk about others or pass on their wrong deeds, shortcomings and sins. That’s judging, and the Bible says we have no right to judge others. Who art thou that judgest another man’s servant? to his own master he standeth or falleth (Romans 14:4). The Lord said that if you judge others, He will judge you. For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again (Matthew 7:2).
Your conversation should be the same now as it will be in Heaven. For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ (Philippians 3:20). A heavenly conversation is holy, pure, divine and one that doesn’t include gossip. If you’re right with the Lord, you should want to get away from those who gossip. Whether you’re on the telephone, at a store, at work or on the street, you’re foolish to listen to gossip. Be bold and say, “If you have something good to say about Jesus, I’m listening; but if it’s something that Jesus doesn’t want to hear, then I don’t want to hear it either.”
Use Divine Faith
With that great, divine love, the Lord gave us divine faith. The Bible says, Looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith (Hebrews 12:2). Jesus is our faith, and that kind of faith can take you before God’s throne in Heaven any time of the day or night. In Hebrews 11, the great faith chapter, it says, Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen (Hebrews 11:1). As you look to the amazing Jesus, you will see that kind of faith and reach out for it.
Divine faith is not human faith; Jesus referred to human faith as little faith. And he saith unto them, Why are ye fearful, O ye of little faith (Matthew 8:26)? Do you use divine faith or human faith? I use divine faith; and I’m able to say as Jesus did, “Father, you always hear me.” And Jesus lifted up his eyes, and said, Father, I thank thee that thou hast heard me. And I knew that thou hearest me always (John 11:41,42).
Since Jesus came, faith is a gift; and everyone is given a measure of it. God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith (Romans 12:3). I’ve heard Christians say again and again, “I don’t have any faith.” If that were true, they wouldn’t be children of God because no one can find Calvary without faith. He gave me a measure of faith to find Calvary, and He gave you a measure, too, if you’ve been to Calvary.
Live the Jesus Life
Jesus was a great teacher who preached the greatest sermon ever given, the Sermon on the Mount. It covers everything that people may face in their lives from the cradle to the grave. Every time you read that sermon, you’ll get something new out of it. It’s like a deep well that you can keep drawing from.
That sermon includes the Beatitudes, and you should read them often to find out whether or not you’re being blessed. Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted. Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth. Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled. Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy. Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God. Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God. Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness’ sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake. Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you (Matthew 5:3-12).
Jesus went on to teach much about how we should live and how we must stay away from all kinds of sins, including lust. Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not commit adultery: But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart (Matthew 5:27,28).
He talked about divorce and remarriage. But I say unto you, That whosoever shall put away his wife, saving for the cause of fornication, causeth her to commit adultery: and whosoever, shall marry her that is divorced committeth adultery (Matthew 5:32).
He warned us about having the wrong foundation. Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock. And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand: And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it (Matthew 7:24-27).
Jesus is our rock, the rock of our salvation. The Psalmist said, When my heart is overwhelmed: lead me to the rock that is higher than I (Psalm 61:2). He also said, Weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning (Psalm 30:5).
Jesus Changed Paul’s Life
The great Apostle Paul met this amazing Jesus through Stephen, a young man who was the first Christian martyr. Stephen died just like Jesus did, saying, “Father, forgive them!” But he, being full of the Holy Ghost, looked up stedfastly into heaven, and saw the glory of God, and Jesus, standing on the right hand of God, And said, Behold, I see the heavens opened, and the Son of man standing on the right hand of God. Then they cried out with a loud voice, and stopped their ears, and ran upon him with one accord, And cast him out of the city, and stoned him: and the witnesses laid down their clothes at a young man’s feet, whose name was Saul [later called Paul]. And they stoned Stephen, calling upon God, and saying, Lord Jesus, receive my spirit. And he kneeled down, and cried with a loud voice, Lord, lay not this sin to their charge. And when he had said this, he fell asleep (Acts 7:55-60). I’m sure Paul never forgot that scene, and he probably heard Stephen’s voice ringing in his ears day and night.
At one time, Paul had held one of the highest seats in the court of his people; and according to the Bible, he was a Pharisee of the strictest kind. After the most straitest sect of our religion I lived a Pharisee (Acts 26:5). Paul had been very rich, but later he said that he had been the chief among sinners. This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief (I Timothy 1:15).
Shortly after Stephen’s death, Paul was on his way to Damascus to continue his work of arresting Christians and having them put to death. As for Saul, he made havoc of the church, entering into every house, and haling men and women committed them to prison (Acts 8:3). While Paul was on his way, a light shined down from Heaven; and he found himself down in the dirt and blind. Then he heard the voice of Jesus saying, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me? And he said, Who art thou, Lord? And the Lord said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest: it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks. And he trembling and astonished said, Lord, what wilt thou have me to do? And the Lord said unto him, Arise, and go into the city, and it shall be told thee what thou must do (Acts 9:4-6). Paul had finally heard Jesus, and he gave his heart to the Lord. Then he went on to become one of the greatest apostles who had ever lived.
Jesus Makes Witnesses
Poor, lowly shepherds were the first ones to find out about Jesus’ birth, and they became great witnesses. And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid. And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord…And it came to pass, as the angels were gone away from them into heaven, the shepherds said one to another, Let us now go even unto Bethlehem, and see this thing which is come to pass, which the Lord hath made known unto us. And they came with haste, and found Mary, and Joseph, and the babe lying in a manger (Luke 2:8-11,15,16).
The amazing Jesus was born in an ox stall and laid in a manger, but that didn’t matter. What was important was what He brought—divine blood, divine love, divine joy, divine peace, divine happiness, divine deliverance, divine forgiveness, divine determination, divine longsuffering, divine gentleness, divine kindness and divine self-control. All of this is ours because Jesus is the amazing Christ!
The wise men saw the Lord’s star, and it took them two years to get to where it was leading them; but they never lost their way. I’m not surprised because I’ve seen that star, and it has many manifestations unlike any other star. When the Lord lets me see it, I know things are happening; a miracle or mass miracles are about to take place. That amazing star also reveals the darkness in people’s lives. The people which sat in darkness saw great light; and to them which sat in the region and shadow of death light is sprung up (Matthew 4:16). Only the amazing Jesus could bring such great light that it can penetrate all darkness and put the devil to flight.
Old Testament Witnesses
The prophets of old prophesied about Jesus. Isaiah said, For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace (Isaiah 9:6). But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting (Micah 5:2).
The Old Testament prophets were so holy that the Holy Ghost could write through them, and we’re told that the whole Bible was given through the Holy Ghost. For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost (II Peter 1:21). Those prophets were great witnesses; and through their writings, they still are today. They wrote about things and events that they never saw, and the Bible declares that they longed to see this day that we’re now in. For verily I say unto you, That many prophets and righteous men have desired to see those things which ye see, and have not seen them; and to hear those things which ye hear, and have not heard them (Matthew 13:17).
New Testament Witnesses
There have been many witnesses of the amazing Christ, but the greatest witness of all was Jesus Himself with all of His love and grace. At just twelve years of age, He was in the temple talking to doctors and amazing them with His answers. Jesus’ parents were searching for Him at the time because they thought He was lost. And it came to pass, that after three days they found him in the temple, sitting in the midst of the doctors, both hearing them, and asking them questions. And all that heard him were astonished at his understanding and answers. And when they [His parents] saw him, they were amazed: and his mother said unto him, Son, why hast thou thus dealt with us? behold, thy father and I have sought thee sorrowing. And he said unto them, How is it that ye sought me? wist ye not that I must be about my Father’s business (Luke 2:46-49)? Even then, Jesus knew what His mission was here on Earth.
Jesus was so amazing to people, yet most didn’t know who He really was. But thank God, we know who He is! You can’t just walk off and think that Jesus is with you as Mary and Joseph did; you have to know that He’s with you all the time and that you can’t go anywhere He wouldn’t go. You shouldn’t even go to sleep at night without knowing that Jesus is with you.
John the Baptist was a mighty witness, the voice in the wilderness sounding out loud and clear. In those days came John the Baptist, preaching in the wilderness of Judaea, And saying, Repent ye: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand. For this is he that was spoken of by the prophet Esaias, saying, The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight (Matthew 3:1-3).
John wouldn’t compromise no matter who he was talking to or what he was going through. He plainly told King Herod that it wasn’t lawful for him to have his brother Philip’s wife. But Herod the tetrarch, being reproved by him [John the Baptist] for Herodias his brother Philip’s wife, and for all the evils which Herod had done, Added yet this above all, that he shut up John in prison (Luke 3:19,20). Later, John lost his head over this, but he never compromised.
Receive the Holy Ghost
John talked about the Holy Ghost. He said, I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire (Matthew 3:11). Even though John told us about this great baptism, many preachers today won’t preach the Holy Ghost. Even Pentecostal preachers don’t believe you have to have the Holy Ghost to make the Rapture, but you do. You have to have what Jesus brought to be without spot, wrinkle or blemish. That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish (Ephesians 5:27).
No one will make the Rapture without the Holy Ghost no matter what some preachers say. They’ll know the truth when they’re left behind, and they’re going to cause a lot of other people to be left behind with them. You must have Holy Ghost power, and the Lord commanded His disciples to receive it. And, being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, saith he, ye have heard of me. For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence (Acts 1:4,5).
Jesus told the disciples to go back to Jerusalem and tarry until they were filled. And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high (Luke 24:49). Jesus didn’t tell them how long they would be there, so they stayed for many days praising God. When they were finally filled, they came out of that Upper Room with a tongue of fire and began preaching the good news that Jesus was truly the Christ. Then to their amazement, miracles and healings started taking place.
The Holy Ghost will not move into a life until it’s free from all sin and disobedience. First, you must receive the amazing Jesus and allow His divine blood to cleanse your soul. Then God said He would give the Holy Ghost to those who obey Him. And we are his witnesses of these things; and so is also the Holy Ghost, whom God hath given to them that obey him (Acts 5:32). Children of God are commanded to receive the Holy Ghost; it’s not an option. Jesus said, I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you forever (John 14:16).
That Comforter is the Spirit of truth, and He will guide you into all truth. Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come (John 16:13).
Evidence of Jesus
Those who don’t want miracles, healings, signs and wonders don’t have the true, miracle Christ because when you truly have the amazing Jesus in your life, you will have evidence of Him being there. You won’t be able to hide His love, joy, peace, righteousness, holiness or any of His works. When you get a real born-again experience, everyone who knew you before your salvation will recognize you to be a new creation because you won’t be the same person. Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new (II Corinthians 5:17).
The most remarkable man you will ever meet is Jesus Christ; He’s our King of Glory, my Lord and your Lord. The Psalmist cried, Lift up your heads, O ye gates; even lift them up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in. Who is this King of glory? The LORD of hosts, he is the King of glory (Psalm 24:9,10). Jesus came as a man, finished His mission and went back to Heaven; and now He’s about to come the second time for His Bride. We’re ready to meet Him; all we have left to do is bring in the harvest.
Greater Works
The Lord said our works would be greater than the ones He did when He was on Earth. Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father (John 14:12).
In this ministry’s crusade services, thousands are saved, healed and delivered in a matter of moments from all kinds of deadly diseases, including AIDS; but many churches don’t have the amazing Jesus, so they don’t have any of His amazing works. The Lord said, Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me: or else believe me for the very works’ sake (John 14:11). Jesus was saying, “If you don’t believe me, you had better at least believe that these are the works of God or you’re in trouble.”
This ministry believes, and that’s why we’re winning so many souls everywhere we go. People are coming out of witchcraft, voodoo and all the darknesses of the devil. Many of them don’t know anything about Jesus Christ; but when they’re introduced to Him, He saves them, heals them and fills them with the good Holy Ghost. The Lord is raising up witnesses all over the world.
Every time I leave a nation, I leave a part of my heart there with the people because I love them. I’m always praying for God to help them, to encourage them and to keep them moving forward with Him. I’m awake at all hours praying for people and seeking God.
Jesus Has All Power
This amazing Jesus has such great power, but you would never know it by attending most of the churches throughout the world today. When Jesus is in a place, you’ll see His works; so if you don’t see His works, that means Jesus isn’t there. The Jesus most churches preach is just a made-up, lifeless Jesus because they only have a form of godliness. This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away (II Timothy 3:1-5).
A form of godliness includes no godly love, no godly peace, no godly deliverance and no godly salvation; and that kind of message will never satisfy a longing, hungry soul. For he satisfieth the longing soul, and filleth the hungry soul with goodness (Psalm 107:9). Only the amazing Jesus can truly satisfy.
It took the Lord to satisfy Adam and Eve before they sinned and to satisfy Noah and his family while they were building the ark. It took the Lord to satisfy Lot and his two daughters; but Lot’s wife didn’t want Him, and she looked back when she had been told not to. But his [Lot’s] wife looked back from behind him, and she became a pillar of salt (Genesis 19:26). The Lord wants us to always remember Lot’s wife (Luke 17:32).
Today, the world is in a horrible condition because most people are just like Lot’s wife—they won’t let Jesus be their King. They’ve dethroned Him in their hearts and lives, and they don’t want anything to do with Him. They’ve turned their backs on Jesus, and He will soon turn His back on them.
Jesus Is the Way
When Jesus was here, He told us about the straight gate we’d have to go through and the narrow road we’d have to walk on to get to Heaven. Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it (Matthew 7:13,14). No one can pass through that gate without having a heavenly passport—Jesus.
The narrow road spoken of is a holy highway. And an highway shall be there, and a way, and it shall be called The way of holiness (Isaiah 35:8). Jesus is the only way to get on that highway. He said, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me (John 14:6). He also said, Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that entereth not by the door [Jesus] into the sheepfold, but climbeth up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber (John 10:1).
When the amazing Jesus is in your heart, you don’t have to steal anything; He gives everything to you freely. Think about the woman with the issue of blood who had spent all of her living to find help for her condition but found none. And a woman having an issue of blood twelve years, which had spent all her living upon physicians, neither could be healed of any, Came behind him, and touched the border of his garment: and immediately her issue of blood stanched. And Jesus said, Who touched me?…Somebody hath touched me: for I perceive that virtue is gone out of me. And when the woman saw that she was not hid, she came trembling, and falling down before him, she declared unto him before all the people for what cause she had touched him, and how she was healed immediately. And he said unto her, Daughter, be of good comfort: thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace (Luke 8:43-48). By putting her faith in that amazing Jesus, the woman was made whole. When you touch Jesus by faith, His power will flow for a miracle, a healing or for any bondage to be broken.
Miracles Last
I know about the Lord’s miracle power because when I was just twenty-three, I came to the point where I thought I would be dead in just a few more days; all of my faith seemed to be gone. I could see myself in a vision like I was in quicksand up to my waist, and I was sinking fast; but then the great, loving hand of the Lord reached out and pulled me out of the sinking sand and made me whole all over. Jesus did not send an angel to me; He came Himself. Then He lingered to tell me some of the future, and I knew that I was going to live!
That miracle still lives in me today; and every time I talk about it, I can feel God’s presence. I can feel Him coming toward me just like He did on that great miracle night; and when He did, all my doubts and fears were gone. When you look to Jesus, your miracle will be within your reach whether your need is spiritual, physical or financial. The Lord wants all of us to be witnesses of His greatness in this final hour, so keep your eyes on Him. Don’t listen to people’s opinions or look at those who are doing wrong, and don’t let yourself be troubled by all the sin in the world today. The Bible says, Mark the perfect man, and behold the upright (Psalm 37:37). Look at the amazing Jesus, the perfect Son of God who came all the way from Heaven to give us eternal life.
Look at Jesus
Some of your brothers and sisters in Christ may not be walking like they ought to and are failing God, but don’t waste your time looking at them. They will make you weak, and then you’ll become just like them. I don’t look at people; I look at Jesus. He’s my example, and I seek to be as much like Him as I possibly can.
Every day, I make sure that I’m wearing Jesus’ shoes and that I’m carrying and using the divinity He brought. I make sure that I meet the condition of every promise in the Bible. I don’t need all of God’s promises for myself, but I have to be ready to use them for the many different people I’ll meet on life’s journey. Do you meet the conditions of God’s promises? Are you ready to use them for yourself and for others?
Discouragement will come when you don’t look at the amazing Jesus, and it’s the devil’s deadliest weapon. He can get inside of you with discouragement and grind you down before you know what’s happening. If you don’t always look to Jesus, you’ll find yourself in trouble again and again. You’ll become negligent with your prayer time, your fasting time and your Bible study time. You’ll fail to testify or attend church like you should, and you’ll miss the anointings of God that you must have in this final hour.
Stay away from people who are failing God, and don’t spend a lot of time with those who always talk about sickness because they’re not likely to receive the blessings or healings God promised to us. Why would you want to talk about anything but faith?
We have to walk in the light of God’s holiness because the Bible says that without holiness no man shall see God. Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord (Hebrews 12:14). I have holy ears to hear what the Spirit is saying, a holy voice that reaches to the throne of God and holy eyes to see Jesus and His greatness. Where can you see Him?—in nature, in His miracle works when He heals our physical bodies and in His spiritual work of transforming lives as devils flee from people and Jesus moves in. With Jesus inside, people can then go on to get filled up with the good Holy Ghost.
Act Like Jesus
We’re going to examine this next scripture in the light of how the amazing Jesus would act. Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us (Hebrews 12:1). First, never forget that there are many witnesses around you who should be able to see the glory of God in your life. They should see the light of His holiness and hear nothing but the truth from you.
Next, consider if there are any weights in your life. The devil will try to hinder you with every weight he can, and those weights can even be just featherweights. Some of you think that talking about others is not all that bad; and the devil deceives you into thinking, “I’m just telling the truth about that person.” Would you want people to go back into your past and tell the truth about you? Jesus never acted like that when He was here, and you’re not going to make it to Heaven when you talk like that.
The Rapture is about to take place, and the Lord is coming after only those who are watching for Him. You’re not truly watching for Him unless you’re bridling your tongue; but so many so-called Christians aren’t doing that, and they’re grieving the Holy Spirit.
Third, examine yourself to see if there are any sins that easily beset you. It’s easy for a sin to take you over if you don’t see the amazing Jesus. You must look to His keeping power, see His footprints in the sands of time that the devil will never be able to destroy and walk in His righteousness and holiness.
Lastly, you have to run the race set before you with divine patience, and only when you have divine patience can the Holy Spirit produce the self-control you need in your life. People who say, “I can’t stop myself from doing this or saying that” aren’t really saved. If they were, the truth would be in them because whatever is in you will come out.
Paul had run the race set before him; and in writing to Timothy he said, For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith (II Timothy 4:6,7). We must be able to say that, too.
Jesus, the Sacrificial Lamb
The amazing Jesus gave His life for us. He was not our sympathizer; He was our substitute. We should have died on that Cross, not Him. He had committed no crimes, and He was not a sinner—we were the guilty ones. Nevertheless, He willingly died for us. It was such a cruel death that God the Father in Heaven had to turn His back on His only Son. He plugged His ears so He wouldn’t have to hear His Son crying, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me (Matthew 27:46)? What a relief it must have been to the Father’s ears when Jesus finally said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost (John 19:30). Jesus didn’t mean that His life was finished; He meant that the plan of salvation for you and me was finished. Jesus knew that He would be resurrected—that death couldn’t hold Him and that He’d come forth on the third day.
Jesus told the disciples He would be resurrected; but they didn’t believe Him, and they missed the whole thing. And Jesus going up to Jerusalem took the twelve disciples apart in the way, and said unto them, Behold, we go up to Jerusalem; and the Son of man shall be betrayed unto the chief priests and unto the scribes, and they shall condemn him to death, And shall deliver him to the Gentiles to mock, and to scourge, and to crucify him: and the third day he shall rise again (Matthew 20:17-19). The disciples didn’t really see the amazing Jesus or they would have been at the sepulcher.
If I had been living at that time, I never would have forgiven myself if I hadn’t believed Jesus and been there to see Him come out of the tomb. Just think what it would have been like to see the angel come down and roll away that big stone. And, behold, there was a great earthquake: for the angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat upon it. His countenance was like lightning, and his raiment white as snow: And for fear of him the keepers did shake, and became as dead men (Matthew 28:2-4). The soldiers became as dead men and couldn’t move a muscle; but they still had eyes to see, and what testimonies they became. They shook the place telling what had happened, and the disciples had missed it all.
You Are Complete in Jesus
We are to take the Lord’s place here on Earth as walking epistles. We may be the only Bible that some people will ever see, so what kind of Bible are you? I make sure that people see 100 percent truth in me as well as seeing Jesus and the whole will of God being done.
How much have people missed by not seeing Jesus in you, and how much have you missed by not seeing the amazing Jesus yourself? Everything you need comes through Him. Don’t look at others and think that they have more than you do. Know that you have all of Heaven’s riches, and you’re a joint-heir with Jesus Christ. The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God: And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ (Romans 8:16,17).
The Lord tells us not to be discouraged when we see sinners who appear to be blessed. Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass. For evildoers shall be cut off: but those that wait upon the LORD, they shall inherit the earth (Psalm 37:7,9). Sinners will be destroyed, but children of God will live forever.
Spiritual Eden is ours right now, and we have nothing to fear. I decided years ago that I wasn’t going to walk in fear, and the Bible tells us that perfect love casteth out all fear. There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear (I John 4:18). Now, fear can suddenly come to any of us for a moment; but all you have to do is stop and think, “I have the amazing Jesus for this. I’m going to look unto Him, and I know that everything will be all right.” Jesus is our all-in-all. For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily. And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power (Colossians 2:9,10).
Move on into the greatness of the amazing Jesus and never look back. Paul told us to close the door on the past. But this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus (Philippians 3:13,14). The Lord Jesus Himself said, No man, having put his hand to the [Gospel] plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God (Luke 9:62). You can’t afford to look back no matter what people may say or do.
Jesus, Our Protector
Always be aware that anything you receive from God, the devil will try to rob you of it. Jesus told us that the devil is a thief and the father of lies. The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy (John 10:10). He [the devil] was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it (John 8:44).
You have to fight for what God gives you. Jesus had to fight for us, and now we have to fight for ourselves; but the Lord gives us the same power and divinity that He used. He gives us the whole armor of God, and the devil has never been able to defeat that divine armor. Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God (Ephesians 6:13-17).
You can have all of that protection, but notice that there’s no protection for the back. If you turn your back on the devil and run, he can shoot his fiery darts right into you; so don’t ever be a coward.
Jesus Is Our Burden-Bearer
The Bible declares that the anointing breaks the yokes. And it shall come to pass in that day, that his burden shall be taken away from off thy shoulder, and his yoke from off thy neck, and the yoke shall be destroyed because of the anointing (Isaiah 10:27). All bondages can be broken by the amazing Christ. He said, Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light (Matthew 11:28,30). People will struggle to carry their own burdens because they won’t listen to what Jesus said He would do. No one has ever talked like He talked, loved like He loved or cared for you like the amazing Jesus!
I’ve been preaching about this amazing Jesus for over seventy years, and He’s more amazing to me now than ever before. We will never learn all about Him because He’s divine. Only divinity could have walked out of the tomb for you and me and left death behind. The devil and all of his demons couldn’t have held Him there, and the Early Church learned about that great resurrection power.
When the disciples were persecuted, they scattered all over the known world doing what?—preaching Jesus. Therefore they that were scattered abroad went every where preaching the word (Acts 8:4). Those disciples didn’t give up in discouragement and despair. Persecution just gave them more strength and determination, and many of them died for the sake of Christ.
Come to the Amazing Christ
You may not have had a good home life as a child, but the Lord wants to bless you now. He’s the amazing Christ, and He has all the love you will ever need. He wants you to come to Him so He can hug you close to His bosom because He loves you.
You who are lost and wandering in the dark must know that there’s a Heaven to go to and a hell to shun, and only through the amazing Jesus can you find your way to Heaven. Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved (Acts 4:12). Jesus must be your only foundation. For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ (I Corinthians 3:11).
Say this prayer and give your heart to the amazing Jesus. Oh, God, I want to know the amazing Jesus! I want to know His love, His forgiveness and His healing power. I want His miracles for my life and for those of my loved ones. I’m so sorry that I haven’t known you earlier, Jesus, and that I haven’t known your love. I confess that I’m a sinner, but I believe your blood will cleanse me now. Come on in, Jesus! Come on in!
If you meant and believed that prayer, now you can say, “Hallelujah! I’m saved. I have the amazing Jesus as my Savior.”
You Can Be Healed
You who are sick and afflicted, you must live for God; and He must have all the glory for your miracle. I’m not your healer; I just represent the amazing Jesus, and He gets all the glory. These gifts in my life come from Him. I can’t operate them; the Holy Spirit operates them through me. Lift up your eyes toward Heaven as I pray: Lord, I bring the sick and afflicted to you now. Lay a healing hand on them just like you did me many years ago when you made me whole and made me stronger than I’d ever been in my life. Yea, in the blood-name of Jesus I curse AIDS, HIV, diabetes, heart trouble, lung trouble, head trouble, internal complications, leprosy and strokes. Lord, heal the little, deformed children. Some of them may have been born without a whole brain, but you can give them one so they can learn and live in your knowledge. Heal! in the all-powerful, blood-name of Jesus. His blood stained the Old Rugged Cross for us; and with His blood stripes, we have physical healing.
Get well, and then write and tell me about your miracle. I will rejoice with you. God bless.
