There isn’t anything in the world like the Word of the living God, the all-powerful Word. God speaks and what He says comes to pass because He’s Lord God Almighty. The Bride will accomplish much in this last hour as she lives in the Word the way God wants her to. Every word, every promise taking on the life of God will shine out with the whole light of Heaven. The Bride will believe every promise, and God will have no problem fulfilling each one of them.

It isn’t that God doesn’t want to fulfill His promises; He made every promise to be fulfilled and has been grieved when they have not been fulfilled as they should have been. Never was it Heaven’s fault that God’s promises weren’t fulfilled; it was always man’s fault. We must follow certain requirements if we expect to see God’s promises fulfilled. Every promise that God makes to us is conditional; even the promise of eternal life is conditional.

If we will measure up by loving, trusting and obeying the Word of God we can meet the condition of each promise. God has never made us a promise that we can’t meet the condition of. He knew when He was making the promise that it was for human beings. He knows our capabilities and inabilities, what we can and cannot do; so therefore He made the conditions simple.

Had the plan of redemption been left up to man, it would have been so complicated that most people never would have been able to understand it. But the plan of redemption that Heaven gave is so very clear: That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved (Romans 10:9).

The Word, Our Weapon against the Devil

Just before Jesus started His ministry, He fasted forty days and nights and then He met the devil head-on. What did Jesus use on the devil? The Word. The Bible tells us in Hebrews 4:12, For the word of God is quick, and powerful. What a great weapon the Word is against the devil! The Word, quick, powerful, ensured that the devil didn’t stay long, but departed from him [Jesus] for a season (Luke 4:13). Defeating the devil with the Word, Jesus went forth in the power of the Spirit (Luke 4:14). When you go forth in the power of the Spirit, you, too, will use the Word.

When you use the Word of God and put it into action, the devil can’t defeat you; he can’t stand before the Word. One of the greatest lessons the Lord taught while He was here on Earth was to say, It is written (Matthew 4:4,7,10).

Use the Word today and go forth in the physical and spiritual strength of the Lord. Use the Word of the Lord today and you’ll have the joy and peace that God’s Word says is yours.

What Is Abundant Life?

The Lord has made many promises; life abundant is one of them. Jesus said, I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly (John 10:10). Not a wretched life but an abundant life is what Jesus brought. What is abundant life? Everything needed and more than you could ever use, more peace, more love, more joy, more happiness.

Through Jesus Christ His Son, God offers you everything. My God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:19). Your abundant life hinges on your accepting the promises of God through Jesus Christ, His Son. Every promise you need to supply all your needs, physically, spiritually and financially, is right in the Word of God. Paul said, I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me (Philippians 4:13). Through Jesus Christ all of God’s promises can be fulfilled.

The devil wants to give you great doses of oppression, self-pity, fear, frustration, anxiety, despair or whatever else he can unload on you. If you will let him, he will bury you in it—but the devil can’t bury the Word, and you needn’t let him bury you.

Many times we have been defeated, didn’t get the miracle, the healing, the prayer answered that would have been answered had we remembered to use what was written. We let the devil talk us out of God’s promises. Had we been sure that God meant His promises to us personally, the devil wouldn’t have had a chance. That’s how powerful the Word of God is.

The Word of God Heals

The power of God and the Word of God strike more quickly than the devil could ever move. Never forget that the power of God is greater than all the powers of darkness. God sent His Only Begotten Son to Earth to become very man as well as very God, showing you what the Word will do through a human being. John 1:14, And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us.

John 1:1-5, In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. In him was life; and the life was the light of men. And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not. You can’t merely give lip service to the Word and expect it to work for you; you must be able with the faith of God to take His promises out of the Bible and use them.

You can be healed today of any disease, any chronic affliction, any deformity because healing is promised to you. Healing is the children’s bread; it’s on the table all the time, and the Lord is saying to you, Come and dine (John 21:12). Why not dine with the Lord today?

The Bible tells us that He [God] sent his word, and healed them (Psalm 107:20). The powerful Word of God heals. Jesus, the Word, came healing all manner of sickness and all manner of disease among the people (Matthew 4:23). Notice: The Bible doesn’t say Jesus healed all manner of people; He didn’t heal dishonest unbelievers. Jesus said If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth (Mark 9:23).

Faith Is a Gift

Faith is a gift from God. You don’t merit it; you don’t work it up or down. It isn’t on the market—it’s a gift that can’t be bought. The Lord will give you every ounce, every speck, every particle of faith you need out of this Book for everything that He has said—as long as you accept it all. God spoke the Word; it lives, but it lives only through His faith, love, and grace; it won’t live any other way. Take into your heart in all reality the love of God, the faith of God; He will give you all the faith and love you can handle.

There’s no lack of love and faith in Heaven, and God is ready to ship it all down to you daily, place it on the table. Jesus your Lord and Master is calling: Come and dine. Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me (Revelation 3:20). You may think that invitation is only for sinners; but no, the Lord is knocking on your door daily. He wants to come in and dine with you, to be shut in with you. However, only you can make the choice to have Him as a companion who sticks closer than a mother, father, brother or sister, one who understands and loves you more thoroughly than anyone has ever understood and loved you.

The Lord is inviting you to unload all your burdens and He’ll take them, leaving you with a song. Isn’t that wonderful! Put the Word into action; accept the promise of come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest (Matthew 11:28). Why be loaded down with the wrong things? It isn’t necessary.

The Psalmist said, Blessed be the Lord, who daily loadeth us with benefits, even the God of our salvation (Psalm 68:19). All too frequently people have expected to be loaded down with despair, oppression and depression. Afraid to get too happy, they failed to receive the Word, to be loaded down with the Lord’s benefits.

Close Your Case

God wants you to trust His Word, to recognize His Word of power. The force of His Word moves more quickly than anything else on Earth, the Word of the living God. Every Word that God has spoken is as strong as God Himself. Do you believe that? If so, act on it.

Faith is believing God’s Word and acting on it. You have no more faith in the Word than what you act out. God said it, you believe it, so act on what He said and close your case. The woman with the issue of blood knew Jesus was the healer, and she said, If I may but touch his garment, I shall be whole (Matthew 9:21). She reached out, touched His garment and closed her case.

Close the case concerning your problem; you’re the only one who can really close it. Close your case with the Word of God, the promises of God, and it will be done.

God Creates and Re-Creates

And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul (Genesis 2:7). The Word tells you that God formed man out of the dust of the earth. And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness (Genesis 1:26). Who do the words us and our refer to? The Godhead: God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Ghost. Proving that Jesus was the creator of man, when He met a man born blind, He [Jesus] spat on the ground, and made clay of the spittle, and he anointed the eyes of the blind man with the clay, And said unto him, Go, wash in the pool of Siloam, (which is by interpretation, Sent.) He went his way therefore, and washed, and came seeing (John 9:6,7). It worked; no one but the Creator could have done that.

If you need a new eye, I’ve come to report that the Lord is still in the business. Where did you get that news, preacher? From the Word. This Bible is the catalog, the faith Book to order up what you need. What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them (Mark 11:24). Don’t go away today without ordering.

And these signs shall follow them that believe…they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover (Mark 16:17,18). The Lord said a believer would lay hands on you and you would absolutely get well, but He didn’t say that you wouldn’t have another pain or that you wouldn’t be tried by the enemy. When some people have another pain, they decide they’re not healed. How do they know they’re not healed? I had another pain, and I was healed. When I got salvation I had another bad feeling, too, but I wasn’t going to give up my salvation.

I Was in a Nightmare

For about six weeks after I was saved I was caught up almost into Heaven, and then one morning around 5:00 I woke up, felt around for my salvation—and behold! it was all gone, every speck of it. I didn’t feel that God was within a million miles of me; the devil said I had lost my salvation while I slept. He knew I hadn’t done anything while I was awake so he tried to deceive me, make me think I had lost my salvation while I slept.

I hadn’t experienced anything like that since I’d gotten saved six weeks previously. Until about 10:00 that morning I was in a nightmare. Finally Heaven opened up and suddenly I felt as though the Lord had poured a whole tub of honey on me—the sweetness of Heaven was wonderful! The Lord flowed so much love into me I didn’t know how He could have had any left over for anyone else. He put a song in my heart until not a bird in the neighborhood could out-sing me. To think I had lost my salvation while I slept was pure horror, and yet some people live that horror again and again, doubting their salvation, doubting being blood-washed when they have committed no sin.

War in Heaven

Second Peter 1:21, For the prophecy [the Word] came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost. The Word lives; it came in the first place from the Holy Spirit Himself, not from man’s thoughts or opinions. Man has tried to dispute the Word, but he can’t stand against it. He has hammered and hammered on it, but he can’t break one little piece of it off. The Word, completely intact just as the Holy Ghost gave it, will still be standing to face unbelievers at the judgment bar of God. No matter how many times man says he doesn’t believe the Bible, the Word never changes. Even the devil believes the Word. Although he knows it’s true, he hates it nevertheless. The Word describes his fate: And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever (Revelation 20:10).

Believe God; be wide-awake; praise Him. God promised, and when you stand by His Word believing His promises, all Heaven and the whole Godhead will back you up. On the other hand, when you prefer man’s opinions, you will get no help from God.

Don’t Believe False Symptoms

The Bible declares in Proverbs 30:5, Every word of God is pure. That says it all: no contamination in the Word. The Word wouldn’t be pure if it had one speck of doubt in it. Since you can only use the Word in its pure form, it won’t work mixed with anything else but pure faith. People have tried again and again to use the Word when they had a little doubt, but they found it wouldn’t work that way. I have to use the pure Word of God for people to get healed, for the blind to receive their sight, the deaf to hear, and the crippled to walk. The healing of all manner of sicknesses and diseases is through the same love, the same power, the same grace that Jesus used when He was here. Jesus gave us this power, showed us how to use it: The Word tells us all about it.

The Word demonstrated that miracles and healings work. Jesus said, These signs shall follow them that believe…they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover (Mark 16:17,18). Are you going to believe the Word or are you going to believe false symptoms? Will you look to your aches rather than the promises in the Word? When God heals you, another pain doesn’t matter.

Years ago an outstanding Methodist minister, Dr. Travis, wrote that he couldn’t persuade one of his children to accept salvation. She was around sixteen at the time. He had prayed for her, talked to her, but nothing he said would turn her to the Lord. The other children had come to the Lord, but not her. He was away in a revival when his daughter took ill with typhoid fever and died.

Following the custom of the day, they washed her body and laid her out on the bed in her burial clothes. When her father arrived home they told him she was dead. He asked, “Did she confess Jesus?”

“No.”

“Then she’s not dead. God wouldn’t let her die and go to hell. I’ve prayed too many prayers, and I believe God; she’s not dead!”

Suddenly, she rose up and said, “Thank God I’m going to Heaven!” and fell back into the arms of death.

The minister had used great faith; he absolutely wasn’t going to take no for an answer.

What will you do? Will you take no for an answer or will you take a big yes: God promised, God promised, God promised! That minister’s story has helped me again and again. I can just hear him saying, She’s not dead! If she didn’t confess Jesus, she couldn’t be dead. He had more faith in God’s salvation and God’s promises than in the horror of her going to hell.

Deliverance for the Whole Person

The Lord said in Isaiah 55:11, So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it. If people yield completely to His Word, it all is fulfilled. When God’s Word goes forth it doesn’t return void unless people won’t accept it. The decision is left up to people; if they reject His Word, it’s not God’s fault. He sent it forth with all the power, all the love, all the grace, all the wisdom, all the understanding to accomplish everything He wanted it to accomplish—deliverance for soul, mind and body.

The Bible teaches nothing less than deliverance for the whole person. Why settle for a crumb when you can have the whole loaf? The whole you can be delivered from any disease, any affliction. Although the Bible tells us there is a time to die, it doesn’t mean you have to die with some sickness or disease. When you hear of a death, the first thing people ask is, “What did he die with?”

You know, they couldn’t find out.

What a pity, isn’t that awful! Did you hear that? They can’t even find out what he died with!

If you hear that I died, don’t try to find out how I died, just say, “He’s gone to Heaven!” Praise the Lord, Heaven is what counts. It doesn’t matter how I got there. I could fall asleep, stop breathing and wake up in Heaven.

I read in the Word of God that one of the old patriarchs merely leaned over on his staff and was gone. By faith Jacob, when he was a-dying, blessed both the sons of Joseph; and worshipped, leaning upon the top of his staff (Hebrews 11:21). Jacob didn’t die with the measles, cancer, diabetes or heart trouble; he just finished his work, leaned over on his staff, and went home to be with the Lord. What a wonderful way to go!

Psalm 33:9, For he spake, and it was done. We don’t have to wait for the Lord to speak; He has already spoken. Everything we need has already been spoken into existence; God doesn’t have to say another thing. All we need is understanding of what God meant and the wisdom, knowledge, love and faith to accept it. God’s words are recorded; He’s given you the faith to dip them right out of His Book and put them into action. God’s words, remember, have the same power today as they had when Jesus walked the earth, the spoken Word.

A Shaking Time

Consider the wonderful way Jesus would speak to the blind and they received their sight. He prayed for the deaf and they received hearing. The Early Church followed Jesus’ example, and the delivering power worked the same way. In this last and final hour, God’s power has not changed; it will work the very same way it did in Jesus’ day. The Bride will use the Word—the powerful Word of the living God—and signs, wonders, miracles and healings on a scale this world has never before seen will take place. But now he hath promised, saying, Yet once more I shake not the earth only, but also heaven (Hebrews 12:26). With miracle power God will shake the heavens and earth, and then the end is coming. I’m glad we’re here for the shaking time.

Jesus gave you nothing else to use but the Word. When the Word-made-flesh went into operation, He caused great commotion, shook the earth more times than one. King Herod as well as Pilate had their kingdoms shaken.

Let the Word of God be the power that will shake you so you can be cured of any disease or affliction you may have. If you are unsaved today, if your mind is in bondage, you can be saved, delivered and set free. The Word said, If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed (John 8:36).

Power in the Spoken Word

You have the promise of the Word to be free. Whosoever will, the Word said, let him come; the Word declared it (Revelation 22:17). Jesus the Word said to Nicodemus, you must be born again. Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God (John 3:3). The Word asked, Wilt thou be made whole (John 5:6)? and the people were made whole. The Word spoke to the blind man: Receive thy sight: thy faith hath saved thee. And immediately he received his sight, and followed him [Jesus], glorifying God (Luke 18:42,43). The living Word has power when we speak it in the same divine love, divine faith, divine grace that our Master spoke it. The Word works the same way today. I have been privileged again and again to speak the Word and people have been healed, delivered, saved and set free. The Word will work for you, too.

Why run from the devil when he is supposed to be running from you? Use the Word. Reach out and embrace the Word; speak the Word. Don’t give your own opinions; give the Word. If not, the devil will defeat you. The Bible says to resist the devil, and he will flee from you (James 4:7).

You can bulldoze the devil under and make him run. How are you going to do it? With mud balls or rocks? No, by using the Word.

Forget Useless Opinions and Use the Word

Thank God for the Word! I love the Word and I believe every bit of it. Some people have trouble with the Word of God; they worry about things such as where Cain got his wife. Why would they care where Cain got his wife? The devil digs pits to trap people with useless opinions; he drugs them, makes zombies out of them.

What are you doing down in that pit?

I’m wondering where Cain got his wife.

Another diversion from the Word is wasting time trying to figure out how Noah got everything into the ark: So many bugs could have been on the elephant. This spider could have been on this ear. Isn’t that ridiculous! The Lord didn’t even say there were any spiders, bugs or flies in the ark in the first place! The devil can make idiots out of people, but God has never made an idiot; He makes intelligent beings. He’s helped a lot of people to think right—God right—and that’s really the only way to think.

The Lord said, And it [the Word] shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it (Isaiah 55:11). The Word will prosper; the Word prospereth. In the Early Church the word of God grew and multiplied (Acts 12:24). The apostles used the Word and it multiplied, increased, prevailed. The Word was paramount in the Early Church, and it is paramount to the Bride today. The Bride will use the Word.

Because in the services at Grace Cathedral we use the Word, much is accomplished: It’s thus saith the Lord. You don’t have to keep that cancer, that heart trouble; you don’t have to be crippled or bound with AIDS. The Word didn’t say that it is the will of God for you to be ill; the Word says it is the will of God for you to have good health. Healing for soul, mind and body is what the Bible teaches. Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth (III John 1:2).

Jesus Came to Destroy the Works of the Devil

Jesus was very human as well as very God, and with that divine blood flowing in Him as a human being He never was sick; divine blood made the difference.

The Lord didn’t say you had to be sick; He wants you to be healthy, to be strong. It’s wonderful to enjoy abundant life. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil (I John 3:8). Jesus the Word came to destroy the works of the devil, and the main thing He destroyed was sicknesses and diseases. We have more accounts in the Gospels of Jesus healing people than we have of anything else He did. We can send it all back, refuse it through the Word.

An example of the powerful Word of God in action is found in the deliverance of the Israelites from Egyptian bondage. Working in the slime pits of Pharaoh they had suffered sickness, affliction and disease. Year after year, generation after generation, they were slaves, misused. But when the Lord brought them out of Egypt, the Word declares there wasn’t a weak one among them. He brought them forth also with silver and gold: and there was not one feeble person among their tribes (Psalm 105:37). Everyone was healed. The healing had taken place when they ate the lamb’s body, a token of the living reality of deliverance to come through Jesus our Sacrificial Lamb.

Our Sacrificial Lamb is our sin-bearer and our sickness-bearer; the Word declares it. He was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed (Isaiah 53:5). Are you going to accept the living Word with mental assent or with faith sense? Many Christians are deceived in thinking they believe God; however, when they don’t receive, they blame God; they blame the Word and decide it doesn’t really work. It wasn’t the Word that didn’t work; the way they handled the Word was wrong. Instead of using faith sense, they used mental sense. Agreeing with the Word mentally, they didn’t go on to use faith.

Have Faith in the Word

You must have faith in what God says. He’s a faith God. Without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him (Hebrews 11:6).

He that cometh to God must believe. Believe what? The Word. You believe what God has said; you believe He said it and that He has all power. No power, remember, is as great as the power of God. Accept what God has said; He is the authority. As long as you have misgivings, as long as you struggle with the Word, with anything in this Bible, you are weakened. If I run across anything in this Book that I don’t understand at the moment, I “faith” it. In other words, I believe it although I don’t understand it. I was taught that the Bible is the infallible Word of God, that disputing the Bible is disputing with God. Even as a little boy in Sunday school I always believed everything the Bible said. Sometimes I would have been glad had I not believed in hell, but I did. The Lord said there was a hell; it was in the Bible, so I believed it. Hell was real to me. No matter how naughty I was, I still planned to shape up one day and walk through that door into Heaven. My parents told me there were only two places to go, either Heaven or hell, and I certainly didn’t want to go to hell. So no matter how mean I’d been, I’d go to bed at night and pray, Now I lay me down to sleep; I pray the Lord my soul to keep. I really meant it, too. Keep me Lord! Don’t let me die and go to hell!

A lot of you prayed the same thing, but then you’d get up the next morning and be as mean as ever. At least you were God conscious; you really believed God would send you to hell if you sinned.

I always believed God. When Mama told me God would do something, I believed it. She said God would heal me, and I believed her. Again and again I was healed through Mama’s prayers; I had more faith in her prayers than I had in anyone else’s prayers on Earth. In touch with Heaven she’d pray and pull God right down to me. Laying the Bible on me, she told me that God would do what He said He would do.

I don’t know how many times the Bible was laid on me when I was a young boy. Instead of running to the doctor, Mama ran to get her Bible; it felt as though she put God on top of me. Although it made me think of my wrong ways, I didn’t tell her. I just let her know I was expecting her to reach God for me. It wasn’t I who reached God, it was Mama.

My mama talked to God; I loved to hear her pray out loud when nobody else was around. I never had one doubt that her prayers would go right up to Heaven. Listening to her pray when she didn’t know I was around, I was stopped dead in my tracks more times than one when she called my name out to God to save me. It affected me. My guilty conscience made me want to tiptoe out; I didn’t want her to know I’d heard her. I was causing Mama to cry, that Mama I loved so much.

The Word Will Endure Forever

First Peter 1:25, But the word of the Lord endureth for ever. The Word is strong, powerful. This Book is a deep, deep well; it took fifteen hundred years in the digging, and the Holy Spirit brings its greatness to the top for you.

Jesus said, No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him (John 6:44). Obey the Word completely if you want to get to God, if you want to find God.

First Peter 1:25, But the word of the Lord endureth for ever. And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you. The eternal Word will always endure. It’s by this Word, Peter said, that he was preaching the Gospel.

Mark 13:31, Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away. What has God done to you that would give you one doubt about His Word today? I’m amazed that I have to battle with the doubts and fears of some who come into the healing line. So much doubt is in them that they are in no condition to receive a miracle. Yet they say they know that God lives, they know the Bible is the true Word of the living God; but when it comes to accepting His promises, they doubt them. The Lord said, Come now, and let us reason together (Isaiah 1:18). I’ve come to the conclusion it’s a lack of reasoning that causes so many to doubt God; people will not reason with God. However, they try to reason with other people, with self, with the devil, or with anyone else who is unreasonable.

Come, reason together, you and the Lord; get together with Him, talk it over. Have confidence in the Lord, knowing that what He said He would do, He will do.

God’s Book is His spoken Word; holy men of old, remember, spoke the Word as the Holy Ghost gave it to them. It all is divinely inspired—all of it. Do you doubt some of it? If so, realize what you have gotten yourself into. The devil doesn’t have to dig a pit for you because you’re digging it yourself.

How can you get out of the pit? By climbing the faith ladder. Jacob saw a ladder reaching all the way to Heaven, a faith ladder; and today there’s a faith ladder that will bring you out of any pit.

Why sleep in the pit of despair and then wonder why you aren’t rested? God gave you His love to cast out fear. There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear (I John 4:18). Go to bed in the love of God deciding to have no more fear because God’s love will cast it all away. That’s God’s kind of reasoning; He’s reasoning with you in His Word.

Power in the Name of the Lord

Proverbs 18:10, The name of the LORD is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe. The very name of the Lord is a strong tower. Jehovah God had given His name to the Israelite people; then Jesus came to give His name to everybody. He said, In my name shall they cast out devils…they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover (Mark 16:17,18). In my name these things will be done. Isn’t it time for us to accept the name of Jesus and use it?

You sign your own name again and again. You think your signature is important, but how many times for a great need have you signed the name of Jesus? He gave you permission, the power to write out the check and sign His name for healing, deliverance, health, and answered prayers. Isn’t that wonderful! He gave His blood-name for you to use. In the name of Jesus I come! and the door to the throne room of God flies wide open on hinges of love and faith. There you are standing boldly before the Lord. Moses in a similar situation shook and trembled all over. So terrible was the sight, that Moses said, I exceedingly fear and quake (Hebrews 12:21). Moses who had talked to God, Moses whom God had used in such mighty ways, shook with fear. See the difference Christ made in reaching God: Every little lamb, no matter how young, can come into His presence without fear and stand boldly before God’s throne. Through grace you’re not afar off; you have been made nigh to God by the blood of the Lamb.

Trust the Word

Our Word-Lamb, Jesus, has made you nigh unto God. And yet the enemy can defeat you until you don’t receive what God is offering you right now. Maybe you need a miracle but don’t have the courage to claim it. Trust the Word with all your heart knowing God will move for you.

In one of the Friday night services here at Grace Cathedral, I laid hands on a woman sitting in the invalid section. She didn’t say she couldn’t walk, nor did her husband. I continued down the line praying, laying hands on people in the name of the Lord, commanding them to get well. Her husband came over to me after I had prayed for a number of other people.

“My wife didn’t get healed,” he said.

“I prayed for her.”

“But she didn’t get healed! She can’t walk, and we came from another state for her to be healed.”

“All right, I’ll come back and lay hands on her again.”

All I had to do was go back, lay a hand on her, pray, and say, “Come on.” She got up and walked as though there had never been anything wrong with her. Their point of contact had been that when I got to her I would tell her to get up from there and start walking. Like Peter of old said, Rise up and walk.

I didn’t tell her to get up and walk the first time I prayed for her because she didn’t tell me she couldn’t walk. Her husband, however, was expecting her to walk. The last I saw he was happy, lit up brighter than any Christmas tree. I’m glad he was so determined. I love determination; I think it’s wonderful!

The Lord tells us many things in His Word; we can never get to all of it. In Acts 20:32, And now, brethren, I commend you to God, and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up. Jesus was the Word of grace and truth, the Bible tells us. And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth (John 1:14).

Grace and truth came by Jesus Christ (John 1:17). Oh weak one, you can be built up. Your body may have wasted down to almost nothing, but it only takes a miracle to build you right up—and miracles are something God freely gives. Accept the Word today.

Led by the Word

Psalm 119:105, Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path. A lamp lights up the path, shows you which way the path goes; and the Word of God lights up your spiritual way. If you’re on a path not lit with the light of God, you’re not on the Word-path that God has planned for you, and you need to change paths.

Proverbs 6:22, When thou goest, it [the Word] shall lead thee; when thou sleepest, it shall keep thee; and when thou awakest, it shall talk with thee. Oh, to be led and to be kept even in your sleep! How wonderful! The Word is all-sufficiency, all-protection, all-supply, all-deliverance. The Word means Heaven itself for each one who desires to go there.

As long as Adam and Eve listened to the Word, listened to God talk, they were all right. It’s when they listened to serpent talk that they failed. Down through these thousands of years since, man has spent much of his time listening to serpent talk instead of listening to God talk. Had Eve only not listened to serpent talk…How many times down through the ages have Eves, and Adams as well, listened to serpent talk instead of listening to Word talk? Word-talk is always God-talk. This Bible is a talking book filled with Heaven’s leadership for mankind and full of Heaven’s peace, joy and direction. No other book is like it. Now let it talk.

We sing:

Every promise in the Book is mine,
Every chapter,
Every verse,
Every line.

However, most people don’t accept all those promises. God has a promise to cover everything hindering you, everything making you unhappy. There is a scripture to destroy any ungodly thing tormenting you if you would allow it to be so.

How powerful is the Word? Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee (Psalm 119:11). The Psalmist said he hid the Word in his heart to keep sin away.

Paul wrote that it wasn’t he that liveth, but Christ [the Word] liveth in me (Galatians 2:20). When Paul said Christ liveth in him, he meant the Word liveth. The living Word, the living Christ lives in me.

Does the Word live in you? It’s supposed to. If you’re a new creature in Christ Jesus, the Word has resurrected you, brought you back from the spiritually dead. You hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins (Ephesians 2:1). You were dead in trespasses and sin—we all were dead spiritually until the Word brought us to life. The Word brought Lazarus to life; the Word resurrected him. How wonderful to know that the Word resurrects us, talks to us as individuals!

Psalm 32:8, I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye. The greatest guidance that you could ever have, Child of God, is offered you. Doesn’t that thrill you, doesn’t that excite you! He will direct with His eyes: What wonderful care God has for human beings! Oh how He loves you!

Pulling Down Strongholds

Ezekiel 12:25, For I am the LORD: I will speak, and the word that I shall speak shall come to pass. God has said a lot of things, so many that He put them in Book form for us. The devil tries to rob you of remembering as much of the Word as he possibly can, for he knows that if you have a good supply of the Word to use, he has little chance at you.

The Lord cast the devil out of Heaven, and soon He’s going to cast him into a pit for a thousand years and then into a lake of fire. And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever (Revelation 20:10). God will speak and it will be done.

The all-powerful Word of God brings healing to your flesh. My son, attend to my words…For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh (Proverbs 4:20,22).

It’s time to use the Word, the Bible, the living Word; it’s time to bomb the devil’s kingdom. The Word can tear down the strongholds of the devil, the dens of darkness. For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds (II Corinthians 10:4). The Word, that strong and powerful Word, is ours to use. Use the Word against the devil. More than just reading the Word, start using it; it works, it works, it works.

Our God is on the throne and no one, neither devil nor man, can dethrone our God. Are you uneasy, afraid God won’t do what He said He would do? Then launch out into the deep, and let down your nets (Luke 5:4). It’s time for you to launch out, let down the Gospel nets, and get results.

In the Word Is Salvation and Healing

God speaks and what He says comes to pass. He said if you confessed your sins He would forgive you: If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness (I John 1:9).

Oh Backslider, come to Jesus. You who are unsaved: Come to Jesus. Give your heart to God by praying this prayer. Oh, God, save my soul. I believe the Word. I believe Jesus died for my sins; and I believe that if I confess my sins, the Lord will forgive me and cleanse me from all unrighteousness. I do confess every sin! I confess that Jesus is Lord, and I believe the blood of Jesus, the divine blood, washes away all of my sins. Come into my heart, Jesus! Come on in!

If you meant that prayer Jesus has come; He is yours. You have obeyed the Word, and when you obey the Word, you don’t have to worry.

Now it’s time to get your miracle or healing. I am God’s believer and these gifts in my life are supernatural gifts from Him operated through the power of the Holy Spirit Himself. Untold multitudes have been set free, and you, too, can be healed. That little deformed one can be healed, that little one who was born with just part of a brain, that child who can’t learn in school. Many children are learning today who once were not able to learn. Others have already graduated from school because they received prayer and God healed them. That heart can come to normal, Father, and you can go to work and make a living for your family the way you used to. Mama, that diabetes will have to go.

Lord, I bring the people to you today. I bring them because your Word said to, and in the name of Jesus I bring them with the Word, through the Word and in the Word. Lord I come boldly with them before the throne of grace just as you said to do, and now here they are. In the name of Jesus I am your believer; in the name of the Lord I command hearts to come to normal. I command that person with cancer, that person with AIDS to be healed now. I command that mother with diabetes to be set free. I command that little crippled body to come to normal and start walking. I command that one who desperately needs an operation to be made whole; Lord, perform the surgery right now. In the name of Jesus I bring them all to you. Heal, in the name of Jesus! Heal, in the holy, holy name of the Lord! Heal! Heal! I pray.

The healing power is flowing, flowing into the bodies of mothers, fathers, boys and girls. Take whatever you need today. Feel His holy presence, and watch yourself and your little ones get well. Live for the Lord, serve Him, and one day all Heaven will be yours—the Word declares it. Deliverance comes through the miracle-working, all-powerful Word of the living God. The Word does wonders; it electrifies, edifies, lifts you right up to the throne of God.
