Self Conquered, Christ Liveth Within
by Ernest Angley
September 2000
I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me (Galatians 2:20). These are the words of the apostle Paul: I am crucified with Christ. Do you understand the full significance of being crucified with Christ? It means that the old self, that old Adamic nature, is dead so Christ can live within. After he was saved, Paul in the flesh lived a holy life through the faith of the Son of God, Jesus Christ; he lived in the six spiritual senses.
How did Paul please God? By conquering self and using the spiritual faith that God had given him. What kind of faith is spiritual faith? The Gospel faith, of course; faith operated through the spiritual senses. Read again this opening verse carefully; realize how personal it is.
What Is the Power of God?
Consider the word power. Many people have been confused about God’s power. The Lord told me in a divine visitation that the time would come when everything in this ministry would be the power of the Holy Ghost. Only through the six spiritual senses can the power of the Holy Ghost work that freely.
Power is authority, might and strength. The Lord gives us His power, His might and strength. When in self you come to the end of your physical strength, switch to the strength of God and draw on His power.
In Genesis we find an angel talking to Jacob: And he [the angel] said, Thy name shall be called no more Jacob, but Israel: for as a prince hast thou power with God and with men, and hast prevailed (Genesis 32:28). Jacob was given power with God.
Not an angel, but the Holy Ghost is the one who will change your life with His power as you yield to Him. It’s a change self can never bring about. The Lord said, Ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you (Acts 1:8).
There have been Pentecostal people in the past who thought that jerking, shouting, and other physical manifestations were the power of the Holy Ghost. No, those things are not His power; they are the results of His power working within that make self want to shout and praise God. But shouting won’t get the work done; we can’t shout the devil away.
Down through the years I would ask people in the prayer line, “Do you believe God?” Some would start dancing and shouting. When they settled down, I’d ask again: “Do you believe God?” Again…the shouting and dancing. They didn’t really believe God; they were simply in the habit of making noise, working up physical emotions to make self feel a little better, and calling it the faith of God. That wasn’t the faith or the Spirit of God at all; they weren’t getting anything from God by acting out of control. But if they would stop, conquer self, and reason with God, they could get their miracle; and then it would be time to shout.
The power of God is not emotionalism, shouts, noise. If God is blessing you, you’re not going to dance around in self until you knock people over. The power of the Lord is gentle, kind and loveable, just like God Himself, but so very strong that when it comes on people they often cannot stand, and are slain in the Spirit.
Daily draw on the strength in the power of God through the Holy Ghost so you can act not in self, but in His power and His greatness; count on that strength. The Lord wants to be your main source of strength; His is a greater strength than physical strength, but you must learn to use His strength; He can strengthen the whole you.
The Lord amazes me with His great strength He has given me. I’m human, and since you’re human too, you can have the same blessings, the same promises as the Lord has given me. Using the power of the Holy Ghost, the Bride will do much in this final hour; the Lord is seeking to bring her into all of His greatness, seeking people who will wear the shoes of Jesus, carry His power, and let the power of God perform through them to win the lost at any cost.
Jesus came not only to save our souls, but also to give us power over self as well as over the devil. We live outside the Garden, outside Eden; however, we can have an Eden on the inside of us through the power of the Holy Ghost. To follow the example Jesus set, we must have the Holy Ghost. He, remember, received the Holy Ghost before He began His ministry. And the Holy Ghost descended in a bodily shape like a dove upon him [Jesus], and a voice came from heaven, which said, Thou art my beloved Son; in thee I am well pleased (Luke 3:22).
Strength Comes When Self Is Crucified
Unless self is crucified you cannot yield completely to the Holy Spirit. Self has to die. You can weep over self, send self all the flowers you want to, have the biggest funeral ever for self—but make sure you stay for the burial.
A person taken over by fear may display unexpected strength, performing feats of strength he couldn’t do under normal conditions. Why? Because he’s given over his mind, his body, his whole being—even his soul—for the moment to fear. If people can draw on fear for strength, why can’t they draw on the power and the Spirit of God and receive spiritual strength? Fear is destructive, but the power of God for His people is anything but destructive; it’s edifying; it builds up, makes strong. When you’re asking God for power, you’re asking Him for His own ability.
Quickly in this last hour you must get ready to use this Holy Ghost power through your life to be a power for God. The Lord wants each one of us to be full of His righteousness so we can be instruments of power to win the lost; for only righteous vessels can hold the power of God.
Think about the energy that man can harness, how much power he can get from water for electricity for instance. From Jesus, the water of life, we can get great power, too.
Let Your Light Shine
What is your “wattage” in the Lord? When you go to the store you can choose a 60 watt bulb, a 100 watt bulb or a 150 watt bulb; it’s whatever you want. Light bulbs have different wattages, but when it comes to the spiritual, what wattage do you choose? In other words, what kind of light are you for the Lord? How much do you really shine for Him? A little light bulb shines little, giving such pale light that more than one bulb is needed. A chandelier needs bulbs, bulbs, bulbs to give sufficient light. When it comes to spiritual light, you can’t depend on self or on other members of the family to add the needed wattage, nor can you depend on other members of the church congregation. The Lord can make your light shine just as strongly as you want because all the light of God is in the Gospel.
Not your light of self, but the Lord’s light is what you must let shine through you. Your light won’t save people; your light, your physical life, won’t deliver people, but the light of Jesus Christ will. He willed us to beam His light to the world. Use His power; shine forth the light of the Gospel. Jesus said, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life (John 8:12). Jesus went on to tell the disciples, Ye are the light of the world (Matthew 5:14). With His light, we must show Him to the world.
Take On Holy Boldness
You don’t burn much energy in twiddling your thumbs, and it doesn’t take much effort to make the Bible only a wish book. Self has a lot of wishes. I wish I could have this; I wish I could be like Jesus; I wish I could overcome the devil; I wish I had joy; I wish I had peace. Do away with wishful thinking and reach for power with God; conquer self so Christ can live through you as He desires. Jesus didn’t come to give you a wishful Gospel; He came to give you reality. The Early Church prayed for and got the reality of holy boldness.
According to the power that worketh in us (Ephesians 3:20) we can do God’s will. It’s not you who are living when the old self is dead; it’s Christ who liveth in you in this new and living way that Jesus brought. Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus, By a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us (Hebrews 10:19,20).
If you have holy boldness, you will use all the power God gives you; God wants it to be used.
As much of God’s love is flowing today as flowed to Adam and Eve. As much knowledge, wisdom, strength, and good health of God is here today as in Eden; the only difference is we don’t know how to accept it all, we don’t know how to keep it all after we get it; and we don’t have the boldness to use it all. Like receiving any kind of valuable equipment, if you don’t know how to use it, it’s worthless to you. Learn how to use God’s power. I had to learn how to cast out devils; I had to learn how to take on God’s special anointings, how to turn my mind over to that power for the Spirit of the living God to use my mind as His very own. It’s wonderful for God to take over your mind, to give you His very thoughts! You know what God is thinking because He’s using your mind, thinking through your mind.
Oh Bride of Christ, realize what’s in store for you. The Lord is seeking to bring you into His greatness, but if you’re not careful, you’ll be like a child beginning school and thinking, I can never learn this; I can never understand.
How do you gain understanding? By being taught, by studying. The Bible says, Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth (II Timothy 2:15). As we study to show ourselves approved unto God, we please Him, and He can flow Himself through us. This capability of performing and producing is God’s power for the Bride. Take on the holy boldness that comes when self is conquered and Christ lives within.
Jesus Brought Life
Jesus said, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die (John 11:25,26). In other words Jesus was saying, Because people here on planet Earth don’t have life, I’m here. I have come to bring you life; there is no life without me. I am life over death, hell and the grave; I am life, life, life. I am your strength, your power, your victory over all the powers of darkness. Christ must live in you.
Power is life and life is power when it comes to God. The power of God has authority, vigor, and force; and it is furnished in the most abundant way ever in this great pouring-out of the Holy Spirit. Power to defeat the devil, power to overcome, the same power that Jesus brought is being poured out now as God has said it would be. And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh (Acts 2:17). Oh Bride of Christ, this is for you in this final hour! You will see the wonders and greatness of Heaven before you’re caught up.
Jesus brought life-giving overcoming power. He said, These signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils…they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover (Mark 16:17,18). I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you (Luke 10:19).
God’s people have been trampled down much, but it’s time for them to trample the devil and live in the power of God’s liberty and freedom. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you (James 4:7). How do you resist the devil? With the blood of Jesus. You can’t be saved without His blood. All the greatness in the blood of Jesus is for you to use through the power of the Holy Ghost; it takes the Holy Ghost to endue you with power daily, power bubbling within and ready to be used.
Power gives you “legal ability.” Like a document in our courts that grants power of attorney, we’ve been given power to sign the Lord’s name to anything within His will. We can ask, sign His name, and put the order through: Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you (John 16:23).
Jesus spoke with authority. And they were astonished at his doctrine: for he taught them as one that had authority, and not as the scribes. And they were all amazed, insomuch that they questioned among themselves, saying, What thing is this? what new doctrine is this? for with authority commandeth he even the unclean spirits, and they do obey him (Mark 1:22,27). Where did this authority come from? It came from Heaven.
Study the Spiritual Senses
Study closely how the six spiritual senses come into use when self is conquered and Christ liveth within. Spiritual power sight: Think about your physical sight, and then think about spiritual power sight, vision through Heaven’s power. This spiritual sense of sight is beyond human power. Spiritual sight is God’s sight that enables you to see that which God sees.
You can’t see around corners; you can’t see through bushes. Many things limit physical sight, but with spiritual eyesight you go beyond and look into the realm of God’s power. In that realm you can view the paths God wants you to travel; you see the ways of the Lord, the blessings of God, His prophecies being fulfilled, and those that are about to be fulfilled. Open your Bible, use the spiritual sense of sight, and you’re no longer looking with just physical eyesight; suddenly you see right into the heart of God through the spiritual love-eyes that God gives you. To see with spiritual eyesight in the spiritual senses, self must be conquered.
God gave spiritual sight to only a few of the great men of Old Testament days. But in the Early Church, most members received spiritual eyesight. They could see much, look beyond their troubles, beyond family and friends, beyond gold and silver. Seeing a heavenly realm, they were willing to die for the sake of Christ; but it took spiritual eyesight, and it took self being conquered.
Stephen conquered self. Using spiritual eyesight he said, Behold, I see the heavens opened, and the Son of man standing on the right hand of God (Acts 7:56). I see Jesus standing at the right hand of the Father; I see Jesus! Looking steadfastly at Jesus, you will not fail. To look at Jesus, to really see Him and know that it’s He, you can put your physical self on the altar of death, if He wants it, because you’ll deny Him nothing; you live in His very presence and He lives in you.
The more self is conquered, the more you can live in the spiritual senses, the more the Lord will talk to you, the greater the voice of the Holy Scriptures will sound, and the brighter the light of the Gospel will shine upon you. Cloudy days won’t matter because you’ll know you have the light of the Gospel to turn the darkness of that cloudy day into the brightness of noonday sun. With each member of the Bride of Christ full of the Spirit of God using the six spiritual senses, she can light up the whole world at one time for people to see in this last hour, and then the end will come. That’s exactly what the Lord wants.
Touch and Be Made Whole
The spiritual power of touch goes beyond the human touch. You learn this spiritual touch of the Lord when He touches you and changes you. You know that He’s within your reach; He’s there or He would not have touched you. When a human hand comes upon you, a physical touch, you can feel that; and you can feel the spiritual touch as well. I have felt the touch when I didn’t know whether it was a human touch or a divine touch; the spiritual touch can be just that real. The angel of the Lord touches people in my services and many times people feel that touch. They often wonder if someone in the crowd had touched them, but no, it was an angel of the Lord. The angel of the Lord always gives the spiritual touch.
When Jesus was here on Earth, very few people understood the difference between the physical touch and the spiritual touch. The woman with the issue of blood said, If I may but touch his garment, I shall be whole (Matthew 9:21). That was a spiritual touch, not a physical touch. She wasn’t touching His body; she said, When I touch His garment. She had insight; the Holy Spirit had been able to give her knowledge of how she could receive her miracle, and her need was so great that she gave herself completely over to the Spirit.
When you give over to the spiritual things of God, the Holy Spirit will show you how to get your miracle, show you how to reach God, how to touch God for whatever you need so you won’t stumble around in the dark. As children of light we’re not to be in the night, spiritually speaking. Any spiritual darkness in your life needs to be erased—and it can be erased. But as long as you think you can’t escape the darkness, you will stumble along trying to find your way, bumping into things. Even in your own home, if all the lights are out at night, you can easily stumble over an object out of place. Maybe people around you have spiritual things out of place, things you bump into if you don’t have the light. In the light, however, you can avoid stumbling blocks; you see them. The devil can’t play on your imagination when you reach out and touch the love of God, the peace of God, the serenity of God. Full assurance is yours because you have the spiritual touch that goes beyond the physical.
The physical man can’t reach Heaven; it takes the spiritual man who has conquered self to make that contact. If the soul is right, you can call Jesus anytime. Jesus restored that wonderful connection between man and God that had been lost in the fall. He set a line of blood the devil can’t destroy—which means you can call directly to the throne of God anytime.
Learn to be just like Jesus when He said, Father, I thank thee that thou hast heard me. And I knew that thou hearest me always (John 11:41,42). Father, you always hear me! How many times have you struggled in prayer, struggled in self with your problems? How many times has your struggle brought fear, despair, oppression and depression because you wondered, Lord, did you hear me? Lord, why is there no move? When you have the spiritual touch, you touch Heaven in full assurance that you’re in communion with God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Ghost; you’re in reach of all the promises of God.
In the physical senses people easily doubt the promises of God, for those promises mean nothing to the physical touch. Reading the Bible in the physical senses without the help of the spiritual senses will make it seem like an ordinary book; you receive no help from it.
Don’t let the Bible be nothing more to you than print on pages. Let the Holy Spirit dip God’s promises out and serve them in style with the beautiful, spiritual fragrances, the taste, touch and sight of Heaven. When you pick up the Word of God with the spiritual touch, you have gone beyond self’s physical power. You touch the Word, and the Word lives; you touch the promises, and the promises are yours.
You can’t hold on to a promise of God with your physical hands. Only through the spiritual senses can you hold that promise, or else you’re not going to hold it at all. God’s promises are spiritual promises given through the Spirit of the living God. God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth (John 4:24). If you don’t use the six spiritual senses, you will try in self to accept God’s promises, and they won’t be fulfilled for you because they can only be fulfilled through the truth of the Spirit.
Draw me, we will run after thee (Song of Solomon 1:4). The Bride is saying to the Groom, Draw on us and we will run after thee. It’s time to separate from anyone who would hinder you in running after the Lord. Let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us (Hebrews 12:1). People can be some of your worst weights without your realizing it. Those whose opinions and feelings come only through the physical senses of self are in conflict with anyone using the spiritual senses.
Taste and See
The spiritual power of taste is a sense so far beyond the physical senses that most people have never taken on the knowledge of it. The spiritual power of taste: to be able to taste God, to taste His Spirit, to taste what He has for you, to taste the day He has made for you. The spiritual sense of taste has the flavor of Heaven in it; it has Eden with all its joy, peace and greatness. Taste and see that the LORD is good (Psalm 34:8).
Elijah went a day’s journey into the wilderness, and came and sat down under a juniper tree: and he requested for himself that he might die; and said, It is enough; now, O LORD, take away my life; for I am not better than my fathers. And as he lay and slept under a juniper tree, behold, then an angel touched him, and said unto him, Arise and eat. And he looked, and, behold, there was a cake baken on the coals, and a cruse of water at his head. And he did eat and drink, and laid him down again. And the angel of the LORD came again the second time, and touched him, and said, Arise and eat; because the journey is too great for thee. And he arose, and did eat and drink, and went in the strength of that meat forty days and forty nights unto Horeb the mount of God (I Kings 19:4-8). Elijah went to the Lord’s table, dined on angel food. From that food he received so much strength that forty days later he was on top of a mountain, ready to meet God at last.
Taste the fruit of goodness of the Lord. He gives so much goodness in our spiritual food that one of the fruits of the Spirit is pure goodness. But the fruit of the Spirit is…goodness (Galatians 5:22). Taste, eat, and see that the Lord is good. Take on His power, His strength; take on the might of God.
The spiritual power of taste is essential. If you lose your appetite for physical food and stop eating, you won’t live long. It’s the same way with the spiritual you; the spiritual you cannot operate, perform and keep on living without spiritual food. If you have no appetite for the Word, you’re operating in your physical senses. Never pick up the Word of God in your physical senses unless you’re going to shift gears at once into the spiritual realm.
The physical senses must be changed and made holy in order for you to walk the new and living way. Remember how you use the physical senses and apply that method in using the spiritual senses. God uses your knowledge of the physical senses to teach you the deep, spiritual truths; it’s the way Jesus taught. Jesus is still teaching that same way.
The spiritual power of taste causes you to go beyond the physical because the Word of God becomes your most exciting, most entertaining book. The Word brings you the most strength, the most joy, the most peace, the most everything.
The Fragrance of the Lord
Now we come to that spiritual power of smell that goes beyond the physical. In the Old Testament days, every priest who represented the Lord had to be perfumed with the best scents, anointed with holy oil because he represented Jesus, the High Priest who was to come. Oh, what a lovely aroma! Then when Jesus came, He brought the most beautiful of all fragrances for the spiritual person. The perfume of the Lord is love, joy, peace, happiness; all the fragrant fruits of the Spirit are on Heaven’s trees. The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance (Galatians 5:22,23).
You can inhale the lovely scent of roses until you feel it all through you, and you can inhale the things of the Lord, the sweetness of the Lord. Haven’t you passed by a bakery and smelled an aroma so good that you immediately wanted to eat? The nearer you come to the Lord, the more you want to eat of His Word; you want to hold Him forever closer and closer.
God wants you to get ready, not just to meet Him in Heaven, Child of God, but to meet Him daily. He doesn’t want to fellowship with a grouchy person full of self; He wants to commune with a person full of praise and the glory of God.
Do you complain that your life is harder than anyone else’s? Why would you complain, why sit around in self-pity when you have Heaven’s best? Self-pity is a tool of the devil, a grave injustice to God and yourself. Don’t seek pity; seek God’s blessings, favor, and strength.
The Bride does not need to look like an object of pity so the Lord will take her into His arms; He will do that because He loves her. You’re living a sinless life if you have Jesus, but if you are giving in to self-pity, you’re not living that life to its fullest. In other words, you’re living beneath your privilege.
The Church of Jesus Christ has lived beneath its privilege down through these hundreds of years, but the Bride in this final hour is claiming what belongs to her. The grace of God is hers to reach out to and take. She realizes she’s loved and highly favored by the Lord. Casting self down, the Bride is joyful that God is lifting her up, feeding her, giving her the best of Heaven’s attention, care, strength, authority, the best of Heaven’s Gospel light, the best of everything. She has it all, for Christ liveth within.
Hear What the Spirit Is Saying
The spiritual power of hearing takes you beyond the physical power to hear. You hear what you never thought was possible to hear. You hear God’s love, His joy, His music for you. You’re not hearing a voice of reproach, of rebuke. No, you’re hearing the gentle, kind, loving voice of God who gave everything to make Heaven for you. Your spiritual hearing gives you power to be connected with Heaven, to hear what the Lord wants you to hear.
Jesus told the disciples, He that hath ears to hear, let him hear (Mark 4:9). If you have ears to hear, hear what the Spirit is saying. Hear with a spiritual hearing beyond one’s power in the physical.
When I’m counseling people, I hear much of the time what the Lord is saying. Many times I’m listening more to the Lord than I am to the person. The Lord has given me the answers, and the answers are what counts. If you don’t accept what the Lord is saying, then His voice sounds muted to you.
The Lord loves to take us beyond self, beyond the physical; that’s the reason He’s made these spiritual senses available to us, to be ours like the physical senses. We claim our physical senses, our sight, our hearing, our sense of touch, taste, and smell. They are our individual blessings from Heaven, and we use them. The spiritual senses, too, are blessings to be used. Remember, man lost all of this in the fall, but Jesus came—and what valuables He bought back for you and me! He made all these spiritual senses available for us, but we must use them.
If you are listening in on Heaven, you want the will of God. In fact, you will not have spiritual hearing to go beyond the physical unless you want nothing less than the whole will of God. Jesus wanted the will of the Father in everything. He said that He came to do thy will, O God (Hebrews 10:7). The Bride is going to be blessed in a mighty way because self is conquered and Christ liveth in her. At all times her spirit will be, I have come to do thy will. No voice will sound as loud to her as the voice of the Lord. The spiritual power of hearing will take her so far beyond physical hearing that it won’t matter what anybody will say to her; she will be tuned in on Heaven, listening to what her Lord is saying, and she will abide by it all. Not part-time, but all the time the Bride will relish in and delight to do His will.
When you want the will of the Lord, He is delighted to give it. He promised to reveal His will; He promised to direct your steps. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths (Proverbs 3:6). In other words, walk the paths of His divine will in all things, and He will direct you all the time; He will live within.
Jesus Trusts Us to Carry On His Work
Jesus commanded them [the disciples] that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, saith he, ye have heard of me. For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence (Acts 1:4,5). Jesus, talking to the disciples and others, gave a most blessed message: The Holy Ghost is about to come! Today the Holy Ghost is here, and now Jesus is the one who is about to come. As the Bride of Christ we have the gravest responsibility that a people could ever have, the responsibility to get this Gospel to the whole world.
Jesus is no longer here in a bodily form that people can see; now He lives within His children. When we carry His light, His love, and His grace, we carry His authority. The devil knows we have that authority, but he doesn’t want us to know that we have it.
What great price has been paid for us to have this Gospel, for us to have all I’m telling you about! We must claim all Jesus brought back to us, walk every step in His shoes doing the will of God in this last hour. In the shoes of Jesus you have the same love He had when He walked the earth among men. It’s not I that liveth, but the reality of God’s love liveth on the inside of me.
It has taken years, but now we’re almost ready to reach the nations with the great force of the Gospel, with rockets of power like the Lord had showed me years ago. The Holy Ghost is preparing you to help, and you must yield to Him. You need the spiritual senses so you can learn how to yield to the Lord in fasting, in praying and living in the Word.
Stop trusting in self, in your five physical senses. Your physical senses can’t comprehend the miracle-workings of God; they tell you that you can never have what God promises. If you believe that, you are your own discouragement, defeated by your own testimony.
All Power Is in the Divine Blood of Jesus
And they overcame him [the devil] by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony (Revelation 12:11). Believers overcame the devil by the blood of the Lamb and by the Word of God they put in their testimony. They overcame, and you can do likewise; but you can’t overcome if you use the speech of the five physical senses. Use the love language.
Daily you will find all six spiritual senses in the love language. In strength, in power, speak the love language with authority. Always remember, however, that you can’t speak the love language with authority to defeat the devil unless you use these spiritual senses. Not using the spiritual senses is the reason many have such a difficult time with the devil, the reason he’s brought oppression and depression so often. The Lord didn’t save you for the devil to rub your face in the dirt. No, God gave you power to stand up straight like His Only Begotten stood; He gave you power over the devil, but you must use it.
A great example of God’s power over the devil is found in the book of Revelation when He will send just one angel with one chain, the chain of blood, and the power of God to put the devil into the bottomless pit. And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand. And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years, And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled (Revelation 20:1-3). The power of that one angel will be from the authority in the blood.
In Old Testament days, the devil contended with Michael the archangel over the body of Moses. The angel didn’t take the authority himself to turn back the devil; he simply said, The Lord rebuke thee (Jude 1:9). We read in the New Testament that one angel, with all Heaven’s authority, all Heaven’s power, is proclaiming: Devil, I’ve come for you! You know what this chain of blood means; it has all power to render you helpless. Around your neck it goes, and I’m going to drag you to the pit, cast you in, seal the pit with the same blood that makes up the chain. For one thousand years you’re going to be there.
The Lord was ready to teach the spiritual senses and everything that goes with them to the disciples, but they were not ready to hear it all. I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now. Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come (John 16:12,13). Jesus let the disciples know that the Holy Ghost would teach them; they would have the divine blood to use, and things would be different.
It’s time now to let the greatness of God become a strong reality to you; accept it more and more, believe that you can use it, and you absolutely can.
The Bride Will Not Doubt
But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him (Hebrews 11:6). Without His faith you can’t please God. He that cometh to God must believe. Believe first of all that He absolutely is God of all Heaven and Earth. If you don’t use spiritual faith, you won’t believe in all the greatness of God, in all His miraculous ways, in all His miracle touches, in all the miracle Word of God.
The spiritual power of faith that operates the other five spiritual senses takes you into heavenly realms. But you can’t have the faith of God without having the love of God; they’re companions too close to separate. Faith which worketh by love (Galatians 5:6). You must have love to have faith, and to have faith, you must have love.
Paul speaks of supernatural spiritual faith in Romans, God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith (Romans 12:3). You were born with human faith; your mother and father used human, physical faith to teach you different things: faith to trust other people, faith to trust your teachers, faith to trust them; but it was human, not divine faith. God gives divine faith and love for the spiritual eyesight you need.
God will reward those who truly follow Him; He will serve you what He has promised. Heretofore many haven’t been able to believe that God will reward. Their doubt leads them into many hard times, and they wonder what’s wrong.
The Bride won’t doubt the overcoming power of God. She will be a holy terror to the devil, torturing him so much in this final hour that he will be glad when the Bride is raptured. Have you ever thought how much the kingdom of the devil will rejoice when the Rapture takes place? When the Bride of Christ is taken in the Rapture, the great power of Heaven that Jesus brought is going with her. The Holy Ghost, the miracle worker, will take His flight; His office work will be finished here on Earth. No longer will people receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. Think what desolation will be left! The power of God, the greatness of God in His people will go with the Bride when she is caught away.
In this final hour before she takes her flight, the Bride will be so strong that she will sweep souls into the kingdom by hundreds of thousands, by millions; and the devil won’t be able to do anything about it. But he knows that those who are not ready for the Rapture will be left behind, that the earth will be turned over into his hands for a short period of time, and he will have a chance to damn more souls.
Let God’s Promises Live Within
Speak the love language; take on this great spiritual faith so that what things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them (Mark 11:24). When you use this kind of faith, it shall be done. If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you (John 15:7). For the promises of God to be alive within you, you must have the faith of God. It’s not I that liveth, but Christ liveth in me. Die to self and its opinions. Lose sight of self directions, self wants, self desires. Give over to God; whatever your hands find to do for the Lord, do and don’t consider the cost. What Heaven wants of you, let Heaven have. Christ liveth in you.
Tell yourself again and again: Christ liveth in me. Say it until you know He actually lives inside of you, that it’s not you that liveth, but Christ with His love, His peace, His hope, His Gospel, His salvation, His redemption. Christ liveth! When you are born again, you have the new and living way, an Eden on the inside, the fruit of the Spirit. You have the power that takes you beyond. Don’t worry about people’s opinions, I say again; think about what God says. The Bible is exciting because it’s all true; all God’s promises are true. God, remember, has given you enough promises to cover every problem you might have. Take the strength, the life of those promises, and hold on to them through the six spiritual senses.
The Faith of God Is Yours to Use
The spiritual sense of faith is so great, so mighty that it moves mountains. It will take you to the highest mountain peak and across the deepest valleys; it will take you anywhere and everywhere God wants you to go. The faith of God is yours to use, faith that cannot be destroyed. The faith of God in your life is eternal faith, eternal like Heaven itself. You may let the devil destroy you, but the faith of God cannot be destroyed, nor can the love of God be destroyed.
Running to each heart from the heart of God like a line are the things of God, and He’s sending you His message, saith the Lord, His Gospel message, His Gospel light in the love language. Thus saith the Lord: I am here to give you my strength, I am here to make my greatness real to you; I am here to teach you all you need to know about your Lord for this your final walk and to do the work that I have ordained you to do. Fear not, and do not look to self. Win, win; look at your Lord. I gave my Son for you to behold Him; I gave my Son for you to follow in His steps and not follow self and others. I have given you everything you need.
Open, open those ears, those spiritual ears, through the power of His Spirit, and hear what the Lord is saying to you: Christ liveth within when self is conquered.
