Problems, Problems, Problems

How do you face your problems? Some people cry, and some get angry while others may feel like jumping out the window; but those things don’t solve anything. You have to face your problems in the light of the Holy Scriptures.
Jesus said, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: For everyone that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth;and to him that knocketh it shall be opened (Matthew 7:7,8).The secret to getting the solutions to your problems is to ask, seek and knock.
Sadly, many people and even Christians today take their problems to a psychiatrist, psychologist, doctor, friend or family member instead of to Jesus. Others turn to astrology, meditation, readers or fortunetellers; but you should never turn to man or the devil to solve your problems, and they are usually never solved in those ways anyway. Only God has all the answers you need for every problem you will face.
The Word Defeats the Devil
Jesus came to Earth because man was loaded down with burdens he couldn’t carry and with problems he didn’t know how to solve. Jesus brought deliverance from all of that and showed us how to resist the devil.
Facing the devil is the first thing you need to learn as a child of God. When the devil comes after some people, they turn and run; but that is the wrong thing to do. You have to face the devil with the Word of God saying, “It is written!” What is written? My God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:19). The eyes of the LORD are upon the righteous, and his ears are open unto their cry (Psalm 34:15). Blessed be the Lord, who daily loadeth us with benefits (Psalm 68:19). For he [God] hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee (Hebrews 13:5). Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you (I Peter 5:7).
The devil isn’t afraid of you and me, but he is afraid of the Word of God; so give him the pure truth in the Word. Only what God says will put the devil to flight. Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil [with the Word], and he will flee from you (James 4:7).
Seek God
You may say that you asked for the Lord’s help, but you didn’t receive it. That is because there are three steps you must take in order to receive from the Lord—ask, seek and knock—and asking is only one of them. If asking was all we had to do, Jesus would not have told us to seek. If seeking was the end of what we needed to do, He would not have told us to knock. You must take all three steps.
Many people know how to ask for the Lord’s help, but they don’t know how to go on and seek Him. Seeking requires you to move in real close to the Lord and follow Him closely every day. Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you (James 4:8). If you want the Lord to move in close to you, you have to move in close to Him.
You may think that seeking means you are supposed to seek the solution to your problem, but that is wrong. You may be praying over and over again, “Oh, God, do this. Oh, God, do this!” You sound like a parrot, so stop that. When you keep your mind on your problem, you will be tormented by it. You must get quiet and seek the Lord’s power, love and faith.
When you have a mountain to move, seek the Lord for an extra measure of faith. If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove (Matthew 17:20). You may think God is supposed to reach down and grab your mountain and move it, but He is waiting for you to move in closer to Him.
Don’t Yell at God
You have to follow God’s plan, or you will find yourself sitting by the wayside wondering, “Why isn’t God moving for me?” He said to seek, but you aren’t doing that; you are just crying out for His help. If you are looking for someone here on Earth, you don’t just stay in one place and yell for them; you actively seek them.
If you are talking to someone who is in the same room with you, you don’t have to yell for them to be able to hear you; so why do you ever yell at God when He is right there with you? It’s because you don’t really believe He is close by. If you did, you would shut up and start whispering.
Jesus came so we wouldn’t have to scream all the way to the throne of God. He brought Heaven within our reach, so you can whisper a prayer and know God hears you. Some of you are trying to make yourself feel better by yelling your doubt away, but that will never work. When you are anxious and desperate, you will get nowhere; so just calm down.
I am trying to help you think about your approach to God and understand why you are not coming in contact with Him like you should. Now, if you want to talk in a loud voice to the Lord, that is all right as long as you talk to Him in faith. We talk loudly and softly to people here on Earth too. What you can’t do is pray a prayer of unbelief because God knows when you are doubting Him.
Find God for Your Problem
God wants you to seek Him, not the answer to your problem. He said, Ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart (Jeremiah 29:13). If you haven’t found God for your problem, maybe you haven’t sought Him with your whole heart.
You have to become so involved in searching for God that your problem becomes secondary, and then you will win. The Psalmist wrote, When thou [God] saidst, Seek ye my face; my heart said unto thee, Thy face, LORD, will I seek (Psalm 27:8). You have to seek God’s faith, love and power until you are filled with Him. Then your problem will be solved.
You may say, “I already have God.” That may be so, but you have to seek the Lord’s wisdom and power that will bring about the deliverance you need. In other words, you have to find out what God has to help solve your problem and come in contact with Him. Then you will find what you need. Sometimes, you may not even know what you need, but the Holy Spirit will give it to you.
Once you have asked God, sought Him and found the love and faith you need to cover your problem, you have arrived at the Lord’s door. Then you have to start knocking without any doubt that God will answer. The Bible says, Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need (Hebrews 4:16). Don’t be a little, timid orphan standing there; take your rightful place as a son or daughter of God and know that you are on the threshold of your deliverance. Once God opens the door, you will find your whole answer; and your problem will be solved.
Fast and Pray
Knocking isn’t hard, but getting ready to knock is hard work. You have to seek the Lord in fasting, prayer and spending time in the Word of God. People will say you are foolish for fasting, but that is because they are not willing to seek. They may have asked God about their problem at one time, but they never found an answer because they weren’t sincere.
You have to humble yourself and say, “God, I am in need.” And He will tell you, “Child, I have given you everything you need in the Word.” Then you may ask, “But, Lord, how will I get it out of there? It is a deep well, and it took over 1500 years to dig that well.” And He will answer, “By fasting, praying and reading the Word over and over again until it sinks into your soul and becomes a part of you. Then you can start drawing.”
Fasting is not easy, but some people have a lot more trouble doing it than they should because they don’t give themselves completely to it. Some may declare that they are going on a forty-day fast; but after a day, they decide to eat a little bit because they have a headache or are feeling weak. So their forty-day fast ends after just one day.
When you can’t seem to find God for your problem, ask the Lord to anoint you to fast. Fasting a Bible fast does not mean just going without food; it means praying, reading the Word and living in His presence. When you have fasted for forty days, then you have gone the limit; and you can close your case with perfect peace and full assurance. You can know you have done all and that the divine will of God is going to be done no matter what your situation is.
Praying goes right along with fasting; and sometimes, Jesus prayed all the night through. He knew His Father heard Him because He said, Father, I thank thee that thou hast heard me. And I knew that thou hearest me always (John 11:41,42). If the Father always heard Jesus, why did He have to pray all night?—because Jesus is our example, and He had to show us that our human spirit would have to be disciplined and brought under subjection so we too could stay up talking to the Father all night long if need be. He knew it would take that at times to find God for our problems.
Jesus lived on Earth as a man, so He knew exactly what it would take for us to reach Heaven. That is why it is so important to study the life of Christ. You will find everything you need in His life.
Knock in Faith
I say again that Jesus is our example. He asked God, sought Him and then knocked in faith with no doubt. As long as you are believing, you are knocking; but when you stop believing, you stop knocking. Now, I don’t mean that you just keep pounding away at God. Jesus said, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them (Mark 11:24). Believing is your knock of faith, and it will open the door.
Many people allow their faith to waver, and then their knock becomes very faint. The Lord may have heard it one time yesterday and perhaps twice the day before; but today, He doesn’t hear it at all because they have allowed disappointment and discouragement to take them over. That is so sad because just one more knock would have opened the door to their answer; but instead, they gave up. The Bible says, Let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. For let not that man think that he shall receive anything of the Lord (James 1:6,7).
You don’t always receive your answer the moment you believe because if that were so, it wouldn’t matter if your faith wavered. You have to keep on believing until the answer comes, but do you really understand that and do it? You may say, “I know I believed God, but my answer didn’t come.” But did you keep on believing? The Bible says, All things are possible to him that believeth (Mark 9:23). Any word that ends in “eth” means to continue. You have to keep on believing until the work is done.
Do Your Part
When Noah was on Earth, GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. And it repented the LORD that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart (Genesis 6:5,6).
The Lord was going to send a great flood to destroy the Earth, but He promised to save Noah and his family; however, there were things Noah had to do first—he had to build an ark and put two of every living creature on board. Make thee an ark of gopher wood; rooms shalt thou make in the ark, and shalt pitch it within and without with pitch. And, behold, I, even I, do bring a flood of waters upon the earth, to destroy all flesh, wherein is the breath of life, from under heaven; and everything that is in the earth shall die. But with thee will I establish my covenant; and thou shalt come into the ark, thou, and thy sons, and thy wife, and thy sons’ wives with thee. And of every living thing of all flesh, two of every sort shalt thou bring into the ark, to keep them alive with thee (Genesis 6:14,17–19).
There are things you have to do yourself before God can solve your problem too. He gave you two hands, two eyes and two ears; and He expects you to use them. As you’re driving down the road, there is no need to pray, “Lord, don’t let me hit a telephone pole.” A telephone pole isn’t going to jump out in front of you. God gave you two eyes to use to keep your car on the road; so if you run into a telephone pole, it’s your own fault.
Yes, the Lord sends angels to help and protect us. Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation (Hebrews 1:14)? But when the angel in your car sees that you’re not doing your part in paying attention to the road, he jumps out; so when you run into a pole, you can’t blame him because it is not his fault. Angels are ministers of the Lord, and they don’t want to fail; so they will leave you rather than fail.
If you want angels to minister to you, you have to give them a chance by surrounding yourself with faith. That is the kind of atmosphere they can work in. Put all your trust in the Lord, and don’t let anything worry you.
Give Your Burdens to the Lord
Our society today is filled with problems. You have plenty of your own, but then you read the newspaper or listen to the news to find out about all the problems other people are having. Then you wonder why you are feeling so depressed. Well, consider all the bad news you fed your mind during the day—accidents, rapes, murders, shootings and so much more. It is no wonder you are depressed!
Everybody has problems, but that doesn’t mean yours can’t be solved. If you are a child of God, you have Jesus, the one who can solve them; so reach out and seek Him for the help you need. Take your burdens to the Lord and leave them there. Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest (Matthew 11:28). Some of you will take your burdens to the Lord and then take them back again.
When Jesus was on Earth, He was raised in a poor family; and He didn’t have it easy, but study the way He faced life. He showed us the attitude we are to have toward life when He said, Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?…for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you (Matthew 6:31–33). The Lord said He would see to it that you didn’t go naked or starve to death; but do you believe Him, or have you already started worrying about tomorrow or the next day?
Hold on to God
You have to hold on to God, and you do that through His power. That is what Jacob did when he wrestled with an angel all night saying, I will not let thee go, except thou bless me (Genesis 32:26). That angel couldn’t get away from Jacob because he had faith in God; and by that faith, he held on to that angel. Jacob had divine determination to hold on, and he got what he wanted. And he [the angel] said unto him, What is thy name? And he said, Jacob. And he said, Thy name shall be called no more Jacob, but Israel: for as a prince hast thou power with God and with men, and hast prevailed…And he blessed him there (Genesis 32:27–29).
When you hold on to God through faith, He will move for your problems as long as you’re holding on to God and not to your problems. Some of you could not have held on to that angel because your arms are so full of problems. I say again that you have to take your problems to the Lord and leave them there.
How Do You Climb?
Let’s go back to the three steps—ask, seek and knock. Making it up those three steps depends on what spiritual condition you are in. In the human, it would take some people all day to climb three steps because they are not physically able to make it due to having terrible arthritis or some other physical condition. Well, some people are spiritually crippled, so for them to get up three steps with the Lord is really an ordeal. Some people think they have to feel worthy to get something from God while others think they have to feel unworthy to get something from Him. You don’t have to feel either way; you just have to believe and receive.
There are some people who, when they have a need, can walk right up to God with their chest out and looking like they own the whole world; and the Lord just hands them the answer. You may say, “How can that happen when they appear to be so full of pride?” It is because they are proud of the right things. They are proud of God and what He can do, and He wants you to be proud of Him too.
How proud are you of God today? Do you hide Jesus in a back room when family comes to visit? Do you talk about Jesus at all, or do you just listen to what they have to say? Of course, you are not to shove religion down their throats, but you can peak their interest with good stories about miracles and deliverances you have seen or received. If they start to frown, just ignore it and go on.
Believe and Receive
When the nobleman had a need, he forgot about everything else and went to Jesus. And there was a certain nobleman, whose son was sick at Capernaum. When he heard that Jesus was come out of Judaea into Galilee, he went unto him, and besought him that he would come down, and heal his son: for he was at the point of death. Then said Jesus unto him, Except ye see signs and wonders, ye will not believe. The nobleman saith unto him, Sir, come down ere my child die. Jesus saith unto him, Go thy way; thy son liveth. And the man believed the word that Jesus had spoken unto him, and he went his way (John 4:46–50).
The nobleman had come seeking the Lord. He asked for Him; he found Him, and he kept knocking until Jesus opened the door and gave him the answer. Then he kept believing as he made his way home. And as he [the nobleman] was now going down, his servants met him, and told him, saying, Thy son liveth. Then inquired he of them the hour when he began to amend. And they said unto him, Yesterday at the seventh hour the fever left him. So the father knew that it was at the same hour, in the which Jesus said unto him, Thy son liveth: and himself believed, and his whole house (John 4:51–53).
You have to feel the need if you want your problem to be solved, and then you have to be willing to put yourself out to receive. Unfortunately, some people are not willing to do that.
The Bible tells of a centurion who had a great need when his servant was sick with palsy, so he went seeking Jesus. He found Him; and when he was in the Lord’s presence, he knocked and believed that his servant would be healed. He was not letting go; and Jesus said to him, I will come and heal him [the servant]. The centurion answered and said, Lord, I am not worthy that thou shouldest come under my roof: but speak the word only, and my servant shall be healed. For I am a man under authority, having soldiers under me: and I say to this man, Go, and he goeth; and to another, Come, and he cometh; and to my servant, Do this, and he doeth it. When Jesus heard it, he marvelled, and said to them that followed, Verily I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel. And Jesus said unto the centurion, Go thy way; and as thou hast believed, so be it done unto thee. And his servant was healed in the selfsame hour (Matthew 8:7–10,13).
Use Great Faith
That centurion had great faith even though he wasn’t of the household of faith; yet Jesus said to Simon Peter who had walked with Him as one of His apostles, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt (Matthew 14:31)? What kind of faith do you put into action? If it is little faith, the Lord will say, “Oh, ye of little faith” because that is all the faith you are acting out at that time.
You may have great faith stored within you, but all that counts is what you are using at the time. If you have faith that you are not using, you have to fast, pray and live in the Word to be able to use it all.
A woman of Canaan had a daughter who was vexed with devils, and she used great faith. She went seeking for Jesus; and when she found Him, she was determined to believe for her daughter’s deliverance, even when the Lord rebuked her.
Behold, a woman of Canaan came out of the same coasts, and cried unto him [Jesus], saying, Have mercy on me, O Lord, thou son of David; my daughter is grievously vexed with a devil. But he answered her not a word. And his disciples came and besought him, saying, Send her away; for she crieth after us. But he answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel. Then came she and worshipped him, saying, Lord, help me. But he answered and said, It is not meet to take the children’s bread, and to cast it to dogs. And she said, Truth, Lord: yet the dogs eat of the crumbs which fall from their masters’ table (Matthew 15:22–27).
That woman would not take “no” for an answer, and the Lord marveled at her faith. He wasn’t used to finding such great faith among the Israelite people, yet there she was with a beautiful spirit of humility. She held on and would not let go. Then Jesus answered and said unto her, O woman, great is thy faith: be it unto thee even as thou wilt. And her daughter was made whole from that very hour (Matthew 15:28).
Walk the Water with Jesus
I want you to take all your problems to the Lord and unload them today—problems for your sick body, your finances, your children or anything else. I want you to picture the Lord walking toward you on your stormy sea just as He did the disciples when they were out on a ship in a terrible storm. They were frightened, weary and tired just as you may be; but then the Lord said, Be of good cheer; it is I; be not afraid. And Peter answered him and said, Lord, if it be thou, bid me come unto thee on the water. And he said, Come. And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus (Matthew 14:27–29).
You may feel so beaten down today that you don’t know what to do or even think; so what you need to do is get up your faith through the anointing of the power of the Holy Ghost, and then get off of your boat and walk the waters with Jesus. As you walk in the very presence of the Lord, you will know that a human being couldn’t do that without Him and that He can do all the impossible things.
Don’t wait until calamity strikes to go to the Lord, and stop thinking you are not good enough for Him to move for you. You must decide, “The Lord is with me, and He walks with me. He is good on the inside of me, and He does love and care for me; so I’m taking this problem right into His presence, and I know He will work it all out.”
Let Jesus In
Sinner and Backslider, your problems will never be solved unless you accept Jesus into your heart; and they will multiply many times over if you are left when Jesus comes. It is dangerous to pass up an opportunity when you know you are not ready because one time, it will be your last opportunity. Behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation (II Corinthians 6:2).
If you are unsaved, pray this prayer right now: Oh, God, I confess that I am a sinner, but I now have faith in Jesus Christ. I have faith in the blood He spilled on Calvary for my sins, and I believe that blood washes away all of my sins. Come into my heart, Jesus! Come on in, Jesus! If you meant that prayer, Jesus has come; and He is yours.
Jesus Will Deliver You
Now, it is time to receive your miracle. I believe in the power of God, and you can be healed no matter what disease or affliction you may have; but you have to live for the Lord and give Him all the glory.
Lord, I bring the people to you, and I come against their awful diseases. I use the blood of your Son, Jesus, to destroy the AIDS, cancer, heart trouble, diabetes, paralysis or any other affliction they may have. You have done it for so many, Lord, so do it for the people right now. Heal! Heal! in the all-powerful, blood name of Jesus.
Feel the power of God going through your body right now and hold on to your divine faith. It always works but not to satisfy the human spirit, so let go of every person and thing that would hinder your walk with God and put all of your trust in the Lord.
Tell others about this Jesus ministry, and let us know what you received from the Lord today. You can write, email or leave us a message on Facebook or Instagram. We are looking forward to hearing from you. We love you, and Jesus loves you; and you are special to God.
