Position or Possession?
by Ernest Angley
October 2016
There are all kinds of people in this world who fill many different positions. Families have mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers and other relatives. In the church, people can be preachers, ushers, Levites, singers or parishioners; and in the business world, there are laborers, teachers, lawyers, doctors and managers, to name just a few. However, the position we hold in life is not what matters to God. His concern is whether or not we possess divine faith, and He gives everyone a measure of it. God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith (Romans 12:3).
What is faith? The Bible says, Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen (Hebrews 11:1). That hope is divine hope, not worldly hope. Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear (Hebrews 11:3). God spoke the world and everything in it into existence; but when He created man, He got down in the dirt and made Adam from the dust of the Earth.
God never intended for man to have to live by faith; but after Adam sinned, it was a must. The Bible says, The just shall live by faith (Romans 1:17). Worry will get you nowhere, but divine faith will take you from Earth to the throne of God; and you cannot please God without it. But without faith it is impossible to please him; for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him (Hebrews 11:6).
Jesus always called human faith “little faith.” When people were worried about unnecessary things, Jesus said, Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith (Matthew 6:30)? When the disciples were afraid on the stormy sea, Jesus said, Why are ye fearful, O ye of little faith? Then he arose, and rebuked the winds and the sea; and there was a great calm (Matthew 8:26). When Peter was walking the water and began to sink, Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt (Matthew 14:31)? Some of you depend on little faith when your soul is full of big, divine faith. We must have faith in the blood and in the Word.
Christ’s First Miracle
To make the subject of position or possession more clear, I take you to the marriage in Cana of Galilee where Jesus performed His first miracle. And when they wanted wine, the mother of Jesus saith unto him [Jesus], They have no wine. Jesus saith unto her, Woman, what have I to do with thee? mine hour is not yet come. His mother saith unto the servants, Whatsoever he saith unto you, do it. And there were set there six waterpots of stone, after the manner of the purifying of the Jews, containing two or three firkins apiece. Jesus saith unto them, Fill the waterpots with water. And they filled them up to the brim. And he saith unto them, Draw out now, and bear unto the governor of the feast. And they bare it. When the ruler of the feast had tasted the water that was made wine [I have studied the wine spoken of here, and it was not fermented.], and knew not whence it was: (but the servants which drew the water knew;) the governor of the feast called the bridegroom, And saith unto him, Every man at the beginning doth set forth good wine; and when men have well drunk, then that which is worse: but thou hast kept the good wine until now (John 2:3-10).
When Jesus asked His mother, “Woman, what have I to do with thee?”, He was letting us know that just because Mary held the position of His mother, He was not obligated to work a miracle for her. That does not mean Jesus didn’t honor His mother because He did. He was subject to her while He was growing up, and He loved her.
Jesus showed the great love He had for His mother when He was dying on the Cross. When Jesus therefore saw his mother, and the disciple [John] standing by, whom he loved, he saith unto his mother, Woman, behold thy son! Then saith he to the disciple, Behold thy mother! And from that hour that disciple took her unto his own home (John 19:26,27). John was the only person Jesus trusted to look after His mother; and from that hour, John took care of Mary for the rest of her life.
At the marriage supper, Mary told the servant, “Whatever Jesus tells you to do, do it”; and that is what we all should abide by. It is not that Mary didn’t hear Jesus when He said it was not yet His hour, but she had great faith in Him; and He could not deny her faith. God does not obligate Himself to special people for their positions, but He honors faith.
Mary did not have an attitude of, “I am your mother, and I should come first.” Mary knew that Jesus was more than just her son; she knew He was the Son of God. The things she pondered in her heart while raising Him became reality to her, and the faith she had in Jesus is what obligated Him to perform His first miracle.
Jesus considers all true children of God to be His family. Whosoever shall do the will of my Father which is in heaven, the same is my brother, and sister, and mother (Matthew 12:50). As members of Jesus’ family, we can also help Him make miracles through our faith.
Faith in the Word
Divine faith ignores what the natural man sees and hears, and it believes to see and hear the truth. The Psalmist said, I had fainted [meaning to be drawn away], unless I had believed to see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living (Psalm 27:13). Always remember that everything stated in the Bible is explained; you just have to learn to study it so you can understand it. Some people brag about how many times they have read through the Bible, but just reading it is not the important thing. What matters most is what you learn, keep and live up to. Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth (II Timothy 2:15). The Bible is very plain, but you have to become a student of the Holy Ghost and study it or you won’t be able to interpret the scriptures properly.
The Word of truth takes you to the strait gate and the narrow road which lead to Heaven. Anything else will take you to the broad way which leads to hell. Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it (Matthew 7:13,14).
Again I say that God does not obligate Himself to people because of their positions; He obligates Himself to the Word that He sends forth and the results it will bring about. So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void [empty], but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it (Isaiah 55:11).
So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God (Romans 10:17). Divine faith comes from the Word of God.
When Jesus healed the centurion’s servant, He did not do it because of the centurion’s position; He healed the servant because the centurion had faith in the spoken Word of Jesus. The centurion answered and said, Lord, I am not worthy that thou shouldest come under my roof: but speak the word only, and my servant shall be healed. And Jesus said unto the centurion, Go thy way; and as thou hast believed, so be it done unto thee. And his servant was healed in the selfsame hour (Matthew 8:8,13).
God obligates Himself to those who possess and use divine faith in the Word. Jesus said, If ye abide in me, and my words [my promises] abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you (John 15:7). Jesus is our living example, and He never tells us anything wrong. As he [Jesus] spake these words, many believed on him. Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; And ye shall know the truth [the Word], and the truth shall make you free (John 8:30-32). Unfortunately, many people don’t know the truth today.
God Delivers the Humble
Think about the woman of low regard who came to Jesus with a request. And, behold, a woman of Canaan came out of the same coasts, and cried unto him [Jesus], saying, Have mercy on me, O Lord, thou son of David; my daughter is grievously vexed with a devil. But he answered her not a word. Then came she and worshipped him, saying, Lord, help me. But he answered and said, It is not meet to take the children’s bread, and to cast it to dogs. And she said, Truth, Lord: yet the dogs eat of the crumbs which fall from their masters’ table. Then Jesus answered and said unto her, O woman, great is thy faith: be it unto thee even as thou wilt. And her daughter was made whole from that very hour (Matthew 15:22,23,25-28). Jesus was not obligated to that woman in any way; but she possessed great faith, and that faith moved Jesus to grant her request.
Your faith and not your position will bring victory. It is not who you are but what you are in truth and in the divinity of the Lord. Your high position will not obligate God to you, and your low position will not turn Him away; you must have divine faith.
God hates it when people think too highly of their positions, as though they are a step above others; and He certainly is not obligated to do anything for them. Note this example of a Pharisee and a publican: The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, God, I thank thee, that I am not as other men are, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican [sinner]. And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner. I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other: for every one that exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted (Luke 18:11,13,14).
God despised the Pharisee, but the sinner humbled himself; and God heard him. He always hears those who pray from a holy heart. Father, I thank thee that thou hast heard me. And I knew that thou hearest me always (John 11:41,42). Jesus said, And whosoever shall exalt himself shall be abased; and he that shall humble himself shall be exalted (Matthew 23:12).
Some people become so egotistical about their positions that they never consider God’s divine will for their lives, but you must live in God’s divine will every day. Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven (Matthew 7:21). Only those who call on the Lord from the heart and do the will of the Father will go to Heaven. And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart (Jeremiah 29:13).
God Hates Hypocrites
Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye are like unto whited sepulchres, which indeed appear beautiful outward, but are within full of dead men’s bones, and of all uncleanness (Matthew 23:27). The Lord hated the scribes, Pharisees and Sadducees because they were hypocrites; and He didn’t hesitate to let them know they were going straight to hell.
Many of the Jews prided themselves in being Jewish, so they never found true life through Christ; however, He is the only way to Heaven. Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved (Acts 4:12).
Jesus said to the Jews who were persecuting Him, Ye have not his word abiding in you: for whom he hath sent, him ye believe not. Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me (John 5:38,39). Those people were not abiding in the Word, and that is why He told them to search the scriptures.
The Jews were God’s chosen people; and many of them may have thought they were going to Heaven, but they were not because they would not accept the Son whom God had sent. The fact that they were Jews had nothing to do with it.
If you want to go to Heaven, you must accept Jesus Christ as the Son of God no matter who you are. All those who follow religions that do not teach the Virgin Birth will go to hell, and they are sending others there, too. The Bible says, For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ (I Corinthians 3:11). Jesus said, And ye will not come to me, that ye might have life (John 5:40).
Because of unbelief, some of the Jews lost their position on the divine vine; so God began to graft the Gentiles in. However, Paul warned the Gentiles not to be high-minded about it or they would be cut off, too. Boast not against the branches. But if thou boast, thou bearest not the root, but the root thee. [You have to be connected to the root.] Thou wilt say then, The branches were broken off, that I might be graffed in. Well; because of unbelief they were broken off, and thou standest by faith. Be not highminded, but fear [honor God]: For if God spared not the natural branches [The Jews had the promise of redemption before the Gentiles.], take heed lest he also spare not thee. Behold therefore the goodness and severity of God: on them which fell, severity; but toward thee, goodness, if thou continue in his goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off (Romans 11:18-22).
Never Listen to the Devil
If you have a high position in the world, it can motivate people to work for you and grant your requests; however, having a low position makes it harder to get the respect of others or have them do things for you. That is why it is so wonderful in the Kingdom of God because it is not your position but your possession of faith that moves God on His throne. But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness (Romans 4:5). Jesus said, Thy faith hath saved thee (Luke 7:50). He also said, Thy faith hath made thee whole (Luke 8:48).
Now the just shall live by [divine] faith: but if any man draw back [from God], my soul shall have no pleasure in him (Hebrews 10:38). If you don’t please God, you will get nowhere. You must have faith in the Word and the promises of God, and there is a promise in the Bible for all of our needs. Always remember that your future is just as bright as the promises of God.
True children of God have nothing to worry about, so they should be the happiest people on Earth. The Bible declares, The joy of the LORD is your strength (Nehemiah 8:10). I have great strength whenever I need it because I am happy. I don’t sit around pining away about things; I pay no attention to the devil. The Bible says, Neither give place to the devil (Ephesians 4:27).
When you give place to the devil, he will worry you to death and try to deceive you if he can; but don’t allow him to. That is confusion; and the Bible says, God is not the author of confusion, but of peace (I Corinthians 14:33). Confusion is like a sickness, and you must recognize it when it comes knowing that faith in God will deliver you. The prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up (James 5:15).
The devil wants to rob you of peace and joy; but Jesus said, He [the devil] is a liar, and the father of it (John 8:44). So why do you believe him? Thus saith the Lord, the truth will open your eyes to every work of the devil that is coming against your mind; but you have to accept the truth. You have to believe the Word 100 percent at that time.
When you are saved, your soul is sealed with the blood; but your mind is not, so the devil can get into your mind and try to make you believe things that are not right. That is why you have to use the blood from your soul to keep your mind clear, and you can have a clear mind all the time if you will take on the mind of Christ and use it.
Paul said, We have the mind of Christ (I Corinthians 2:16). He also said, Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus (Philippians 2:5). If you are lacking any of that mind, the Bible says you can add to it. Giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge; And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness; And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity [love]. For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ (II Peter 1:5-8).
You can have all the power you need to trample devils underfoot. Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you (Luke 10:19). Use the divine blood on those devils. The Lord revealed to me that the blood burns them just like fire burns us. Through faith and the power of God, you can put the devil to flight at any time. Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you (James 4:7).
Do You Want God’s Approval?
People who rely too much on their position in life and the things they have are really saying that the enemy’s smile means more to them than God’s smile. People smile when they are pleased or approve of something, and how much a person’s smile means to you depends on how much you love, admire and want to please that person.
Jesus came to Earth and died to take the darkness of sin away from us. Then He sent the Holy Ghost to live in us and be our teacher and guide. Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come (John 16:13). If you accept those things, you will be more encouraged by having God’s approval than the enemy’s approval; and your heart will cry, Yea, let God be true, but every man a liar (Romans 3:4).
You must examine yourself to determine whose approval means more to you. Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates (II Corinthians 13:5)? How do you examine yourself?—with the Bible and the Holy Ghost. He is the Spirit of truth, and He will let you know if you are right or wrong.
You must want the approval of God more than that of anyone else. You must never be ashamed of the truth and always stand up for it. Don’t allow people to discredit it, even if they are your father, mother, brother or sister. You are not obligated to your family members who reject your God. The Bible says to separate. Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you (II Corinthians 6:17). You should not want to be around or be like those who are not received by the Lord, but some of you will not accept that truth; and thus saith the Lord, you have come up short.
Some of you may have relatives who have committed the unforgivable sin and blasphemed against the Holy Ghost, yet you fellowship with them. That is dangerous because the spirits they have are catching, and you are taking what could be a deadly chance.
The Lord gives us the power to become His sons and daughters, and we must want that more than anything else. But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name (John 1:12). We can be a joint-heir with the Son of God. The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God: And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ (Romans 8:16,17). We will inherit everything that Jesus did, so we should be everything to God that His Son was when He was here on Earth.
Let Nothing Separate You from God
Your position in this world will never give you eternal life, but Jesus can. And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand (John 10:28). Many people use that scripture to support the doctrine of “once saved always saved”; but thus saith the Lord, that is not the interpretation of that verse. It means that no person or devil can pluck you out of God’s hands. Only willful sin can do that, and that is why you must turn a deaf ear to the enemy’s condemnation.
The truth is that there is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit (Romans 8:1). The devil will try to condemn you, but pay no attention to him. Stay in step with Jesus and let your heart beat in rhythm with His. For not he that commendeth himself is approved, but whom the Lord commendeth (II Corinthians 10:18). Only the Lord can justify you, not self or anyone else.
People have no right to judge children of God, so don’t listen to them. Who shall lay anything to the charge of God’s elect? It is God that justifieth. Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us (Romans 8:33,34).
You should not associate with people who are against your God and what you believe, even if they are your own family members. Jesus said, Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword. For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law. And a man’s foes shall be they of his own household (Matthew 10:34-36).
Paul said, Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter (Romans 8:35,36). Many of the Early Church disciples were so persecuted that they did not know when they woke up each morning whether they would live through the day or not.
Paul went on to say, Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord (Romans 8:37-39). Can you say that today?
We must also have love for one another. By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another (John 13:35).
Obey God and the Spirit
When your possession of faith means more to you than your position, you will not be ashamed of confessing the Lord to be your Savior; but some of those in Jesus’ day were ashamed. Nevertheless among the chief rulers also many believed on him [Jesus]; but because of the Pharisees they did not confess him, lest they should be put out of the synagogue: For they loved the praise of men more than the praise of God (John 12:42,43). Those rulers should have confessed Jesus before the people, but they did not want to be put out of the synagogue; and they loved the praise of the people.
I don’t want the praise of people; I want the smile of God. I check my life daily in the Lord because I want to know that everything is well; and when you accept the truth and live in the truth, you will be like that, too.
You must always obey what God says rather than what men say. And when they had brought them [Peter and the other apostles], they set them before the council: and the high priest asked them, Saying, Did not we straitly command you that ye should not teach in this name? and, behold, ye have filled Jerusalem with your doctrine, and intend to bring this man’s blood upon us [However, it was already upon them.]. Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men (Acts 5:27-29).
At one time, Peter backslid and denied that he ever knew Jesus; but after Pentecost, Jesus meant more to him than the accusations of the whole council. Peter became bold; and he went on to say, The God of our fathers raised up Jesus, whom ye slew and hanged on a tree. Him hath God exalted with his right hand to be a Prince and a Saviour, for to give repentance to Israel, and forgiveness of sins. And we are his witnesses of these things; and so is also the Holy Ghost, whom God hath given to them that obey him (Acts 5:30-32).
Peter was full of the Holy Ghost, but some of you excuse yourselves for not seeking or receiving Him; and you are not ready to meet the Lord. In fact, you are not really saved when you have no desire for the Holy Ghost. Jesus said, Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter [the Holy Ghost] will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you (John 16:7).
The Holy Ghost is our great teacher. But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you (John 14:26). The Holy Ghost is a real person, and I would never want to live without Him.
Always Please God
When God tells you to do something, you can do it; or He never would have told you to do it. You just have to be determined and willing to follow Jesus all the way. My soul followeth hard after thee: thy right hand upholdeth me (Psalm 63:8).
When Jesus was on Earth, even He wanted God’s approval; and He always did those things that pleased God. Jesus never allowed those who opposed Him or criticized Him to stand in His way, and He always did what God wanted Him to do. Jesus said to His Father, Lo, I come (in the volume of the book it is written of me,) to do thy will, O God (Hebrews 10:7).
God was indeed pleased with His Son. For he [Jesus] received from God the Father honour and glory, when there came such a voice to him from the excellent glory, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased (II Peter 1:17). God was not just pleased but well pleased, and He should be able to say the same thing about each of His sons and daughters today. He knows each person’s heart. For the LORD seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the LORD looketh on the heart (I Samuel 16:7).
Enoch pleased God, and the Lord took him to Heaven alive. Enoch walked with God: and he was not; for God took him (Genesis 5:24). By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God (Hebrews 11:5).
God showed how much He approved of Jesus through the signs, wonders and miracles He was able to perform. Ye men of Israel, hear these words; Jesus of Nazareth, a man approved of God among you by miracles and wonders and signs, which God did by him in the midst of you, as ye yourselves also know (Acts 2:22). God performs miracles today, too; and we can have them in abundance.
Only God’s Approval Matters
Before Paul was saved, he held a high position among the Jews; but after receiving salvation, he was so thrilled with having God’s approval that nothing else mattered. But none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might finish my course with joy, and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God (Acts 20:24). You cannot be a testimony to God’s grace unless you have it; and then you have to walk like Jesus, talk like Jesus, act like Jesus and work like Jesus.
Paul tried to convince people to seek God’s approval even if it meant that they might appear unto men to be reprobate. Now I pray to God that ye do no evil; not that we should appear approved, but that ye should do that which is honest, though we be as reprobates (II Corinthians 13:7).
To receive God’s approval, you have to be honest in all things and walk as living epistles unto God because you are the only Bible that some people will ever see. Ye are our epistle written in our hearts, known and read of all men: Forasmuch as ye are manifestly declared to be the epistle of Christ ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tables of stone, but in fleshy tables of the heart (II Corinthians 3:2,3).
Those who are satisfied with their position in life or with man’s approval are not wise. For we dare not make ourselves of the number, or compare ourselves with some that commend themselves: but they measuring themselves by themselves, and comparing themselves among themselves, are not wise (II Corinthians 10:12). It is sad that most people today measure themselves with others rather than with God.
You must hunger only for God’s approval, knowing that no one else can fill you and thrill you like He can. Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled (Matthew 5:6). Then you will be satisfied to receive honor from God and not from men. I receive not honour from men. How can ye believe, which receive honour one of another, and seek not the honour that cometh from God only (John 5:41,44)?
God will approve of you if you start every day with the Lord and keep the Holy Spirit bubbling inside. Then never leave the house without putting on the whole armor of God. Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God (Ephesians 6:13-17).
Let God Move
God wants to help each member of the bridal company. He wants to bless you, hold you close and heal your bodies; but how do you think God feels when you won’t use the deliverance His Son suffered and died for? Come now, and let us reason together, saith the Lord (Isaiah 1:18). It is not God’s will for you to hinder Him from helping you or to torment yourself and your family members. Aren’t you tired of having mind battles and of being worried and unable to sleep? God wants to deliver you from those tormenting spirits. He doesn’t want you to have mind battles or to be worried about anything.
The Lord also does not want you to be in pain. He knows all about pain, and He hates it. Jesus was despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief…But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed (Isaiah 53:3,5).
I went to death’s door in only the second year of my marriage to my beautiful wife, Angel, and it looked like I was going to die for sure. I couldn’t understand it because I had lived pure and clean from the time God had saved me, but it looked like He wasn’t going to heal me. If I ate, I felt like I was dying; and if I didn’t eat, I was starving to death. My eyes were sunk back into my head, and my body looked like a skeleton. Then one night, Jesus came and made me whole all over. I knew I was going to live and preach His Gospel to the world.
When God saved me, He took away my desire for the things of the world and gave me a burden for lost souls; and since then, I have given my life for souls. I never ask the Lord for riches for myself, only for money to keep the Gospel going so we can reach more souls. I would not want to live another day on Earth if I could no longer win souls.
Millions of people have been helped and delivered by the Gospel going forth from this ministry on radio and television, in books and other literature, and in our crusade services. We are in the end-time hour, and how powerful are you going to let it be in your life? God wants your hands to be His and for your heart to beat in rhythm with His.
We have to rise up like an army with power from On High and work for God like never before. He said this time would be greater than the days of the Acts of the Apostles. That was the Early Rain, and the power of God poured down for over 30 years. We are now in the Latter Rain, which will be greater than the Early Rain; and it will end with the Rapture. If you have the truth and use it, you will go when Jesus comes.
God Saves and Heals
Have you let your position in life take the place of God’s faith? If you are unsaved or a backslider and not ready for Heaven today, say the sinners’ prayer right now: Oh, God, save my soul! I am so sorry I sinned against you, but I have come home. I may have doubted your love, your truth and your grace many times; but forgive me, Lord. You said if I would repent and be as sorry for my sins as God is that I committed them, you would forgive me and save me through the divine blood. I am sorry, and I do confess my sins; and I believe the blood of Jesus washes them all away right now. Come into my heart, Jesus! Come on in!
If you meant that prayer, He is yours; and now you can say, Hallelujah, Jesus is mine! The night He saved my soul, I could cry without any reservations, “Hallelujah, Jesus is all mine!” Then I took Him home with me and never let Him go, and you can do that, too.
Now you can be healed if you will only believe. Are you ready to take the perfect miracle? The Bible says, Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle’s (Psalm 103:2,5). The Lord promised to renew your youth, but many of you talk yourselves out of it. You may think that you have to get old, and then it affects you when you look at other people who are getting old; but if you are a child of God, you should live by promise and not by your feelings.
God can renew your youth and heal you of any disease. Thousands have already been healed of AIDS, blindness, deafness, diabetes, lung trouble, heart trouble, leprosy, strokes and all kinds of deformities through this Jesus ministry. The Lord has given little children born with just a part of a brain a whole brain.
When children who have been born with very large heads, also called water heads, receive prayer, I tell the mothers to go home and measure their baby’s head every few days until it comes to normal. Faith and the love of God have done it, and they will do it again.
Lord, here the people are—those with AIDS, diabetes, heart trouble, lung trouble, leprosy, paralysis and those who have deformed babies. Heal! in the all-powerful, blood-name of Jesus! Heal! Feel His power going into you now as I pray touching the Holy Word of the living God, and watch yourself get well. Then write and tell me about it, and I will rejoice with you. Live by faith and have no doubt; and prayer, fasting and living in the Word will keep you on the straight and narrow road. Then one day, you will lift up your eyes and behold the city whose builder and maker is God; and no sickness or disease can go through any one of its twelve gates.
God Is the Answer
God has all the answers you need; and every time you get an answer from Him, it makes you stronger in the Lord. You can be full of His answers because you have them all in the Word of the living God, but you have to realize that and use them. Never make any room for doubt; only believe and all things will be possible for you. Be not afraid, only believe (Mark 5:36). If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth (Mark 9:23).
If you have a problem you need an answer for, just lift up your hands before God; and He will reveal it to you. Thus saith the Lord, I have given you the high calling of your God, and you are hearing from Heaven right now. Ask what you will. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid; I, your God, walk with my people in the name of Jesus and by the grace of God.
