Opportunities is a very important subject because we are responsible for every one that comes our way. When faced with an opportunity, you will fall into one of these classes: an opportunity taker, an opportunity maker or an opportunity breaker. Which class do you fit into?

Opportunity Takers

Opportunity takers make the most of the good opportunities that come their way. Zacchaeus did. He had an opportunity to see Jesus, but the crowd was so great and he was so short that he had to climb a sycamore tree to take advantage of that opportunity.

And, behold, there was a man named Zacchaeus, which was the chief among the publicans, and he was rich. And he sought to see Jesus who he was; and could not for the press, because he was little of stature. And he ran before, and climbed up into a sycamore tree to see him: for he was to pass that way (Luke 19:2-4).

Zacchaeus didn’t know that Jesus would notice him when he was climbing up that tree; he was just taking advantage of the opportunity to see Jesus.

Zacchaeus had a good seat up in that tree; he was excited to be looking down at Jesus. Suddenly, Jesus’ eyes focused on Zacchaeus, eyes of great love like Zacchaeus had never seen before. Jesus knew Zacchaeus’ thoughts; the Spirit of God had drawn Zacchaeus there at the opportune time. And when Jesus came to the place, he looked up, and saw him, and said unto him, Zacchaeus, make haste, and come down; for to day I must abide at thy house. And he made haste, and came down, and received him joyfully (Luke 19:5,6). The voice of Jesus thrilled Zacchaeus through and through as Jesus had called him by name. Zacchaeus, the opportunity taker, immediately scrambled down the tree. Not only did he get to see Jesus, he found salvation as well.

The Holy Spirit knows when the opportunity is ripe for a sinner, a backslider to see Jesus, and the Lord is drawing sinners to Himself today. What an opportunity it is for them! If those sinners will be opportunity takers, they will find salvation and be prepared to live in God’s Heaven for all eternity.

The Leper Claimed Healing

Another person in the Word of God who took advantage of his opportunity was a leper. According to the Law, the leper was like a dead man. He wasn’t supposed to come into a crowd of people let alone run up to Jesus the way he did. When he [Jesus] was come down from the mountain, great multitudes followed him. And, behold, there came a leper and worshipped him, saying, Lord, if thou wilt, thou canst make me clean. And Jesus put forth his hand, and touched him, saying, I will; be thou clean. And immediately his leprosy was cleansed (Matthew 8:1-3). The leper knew that Jesus had the power to heal; the leper had watched Him from afar. He had seen Jesus open the eyes of the blind and unstop deaf ears. He must have known that all things were possible with Jesus and that Jesus had come down from Heaven. He was right, and Jesus cleansed him. When God’s healing power is offered, people who are opportunity takers get great results. Be an opportunity taker!

A Mother Took Her Opportunity

There was a lad in Scotland who grew up not wanting salvation and wasn’t living for the Lord, but he had a godly mother. She had tried to win him, but she couldn’t; and now it was time for him to leave home. The mother decided to walk with him a little way so she could say a few last words. “David, I want you to promise me one thing.”

“What is it?” he asked.

“Promise me before I tell you what it is,” she replied.

“I don’t want to promise not knowing what it is,” the son protested.

“Oh,” she said, “it’s just simple. You can do it.” He was touched because he loved his mother.

“All right,” he agreed.

“Now, David, I want you to read one chapter in your Bible every night, and then pray before you go to sleep.”

Some mothers would have decided there was nothing more they could do thinking, My son is hard hearted and I’m just going to let him go. But not this mother. She lived close to God and recognized her opportunity.

Her son could see the tears in his mother’s eyes; so, because he had wanted to please her so much, he had promised he would fulfill her request without knowing what it was.

He then left his mother behind, but she saw to it that he couldn’t leave her God behind. Her farewell was, “Don’t forget! Read a chapter in your Bible each night, Honey, and pray. I will be praying for you, too.”

He was conscientious about keeping his promises, so he kept that promise. It eventually brought him to God, and he became a mighty soul-winner. This son was David Moffat who, years ago, became a fantastic missionary. He was known worldwide and turned thousands to God.

The mother hadn’t ever dreamed of such a thing happening, but she had lived a devout, Christian life in front of her son; and he couldn’t get away from it. This story thrills me!

Many mothers are not opportunity takers. They aren’t examples to their children, and they don’t follow in the footsteps of the Lord. How sad it will be one day when they have no more opportunities. The time is coming when none of us will have any more opportunities on planet Earth.

She Touched the Hem of His Garment

In Jesus’ day the woman with the issue of blood was an opportunity taker. She had spent all her living to find a cure, but after twelve long years, she was worse. Then she heard about Jesus. She was told, however, that she could never get to Him because the people were always so tightly crowded around Him. But she was an opportunity taker, and she decided that she could at least press in through the crowd and touch His garment. He is such a holy man, that’s all I have to do, just touch the hem of His garment. I won’t have to talk to Him at all. She used divine faith above her human faith, and she believed she would be healed. Making her way through the crowd, she took her opportunity and touched the border of his garment: and immediately her issue of blood stanched (Luke 8:44).

How many times have you had the opportunity to do something special that would have answered your prayers, and you failed to take note of it or move on it? Take heart because if you’re an opportunity taker, you’ll get much from God.

Opportunity Makers

Now we turn to opportunity makers. Matthew was a tax collector and despised by many, but Jesus took note of him. And as Jesus passed forth from thence, he saw a man, named Matthew, sitting at the receipt of custom: and he saith unto him, Follow me. And he arose, and followed him (Matthew 9:9). Matthew was so excited over finding Jesus that he decided to give a big feast and invite all his friends, including Jesus. There was probably not a saved one among the crowd, and it’s likely that he didn’t tell anyone that Jesus was going to be there. Matthew had a good reason for the feast, and he knew how to handle his friends. They loved to eat, and he fed them well.

Matthew used much wisdom and probably didn’t realize how closely he was following the Lord. He introduced his good friend, Jesus, who had some wonderful things to say to the guests. That was an opportunity maker! It would have been rude of the guests to leave at that point after Matthew had served them such a bountiful meal. But when the scribes and Pharisees saw Jesus eating with sinners, they were offended.

And it came to pass, that, as Jesus sat at meat in his [Matthew’s] house, many publicans and sinners sat also together with Jesus and his disciples: for there were many, and they followed him. And when the scribes and Pharisees saw him eat with publicans and sinners, they said unto his disciples, How is it that he eateth and drinketh with publicans and sinners? When Jesus heard it, he saith unto them, They that are whole have no need of the physician, but they that are sick: I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance (Mark 2:15-17). Jesus had the perfect response to the criticism of the scribes and Pharisees. If you want to see more examples of opportunity takers and makers, just study the Old Testament. As you look at the lives of the men of God and prophets of old who were opportunity makers and takers, let them be examples for you.

Opportunity Breakers

The rich young ruler was an opportunity breaker. Just look at the contrast between him and Matthew, the opportunity maker. He started out to be an opportunity maker, but he didn’t follow through on his most important opportunity. The rich young ruler took the opportunity to see Jesus, but he was too conceited and egotistical to follow Him. He thought he was all right and that keeping the Ten Commandments was enough…but it wasn’t. He would have had to keep the Jesus love commandment. He had made a lot of money by being an opportunity maker; however, when it came to the real gold of Heaven, he missed out.

And when he [Jesus] was gone forth into the way, there came one running, and kneeled to him, and asked him, Good Master, what shall I do that I may inherit eternal life? And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God. Thou knowest the commandments, Do not commit adultery, Do not kill, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Defraud not, Honour thy father and mother. And he answered and said unto him, Master, all these have I observed from my youth. Then Jesus beholding him loved him, and said unto him, One thing thou lackest: go thy way, sell whatsoever thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, take up the cross, and follow me. And he was sad at that saying, and went away grieved: for he had great possessions. And Jesus looked round about, and saith unto his disciples, How hardly shall they that have riches enter into the kingdom of God! And the disciples were astonished at his words. But Jesus answereth again, and saith unto them, Children, how hard is it for them that trust in riches to enter into the kingdom of God! It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God. And they were astonished out of measure, saying among themselves, Who then can be saved? And Jesus looking upon them saith, With men it is impossible, but not with God: for with God all things are possible (Mark 10:17-27).

The rich young ruler felt bold in asking Jesus what to do to inherit eternal life. When Jesus said he must obey the Ten Commandments, he piped up right away saying, I’ve done all that! But when Jesus told him to sell what he had and give it to the poor, it was too much for the young man to swallow. The Lord knew the golden calf was his god rather than the heavenly Father. Tears began to roll but not those of repentance; they came because he loved his riches, and he went away in great sorrow. We have no record that he ever found the Lord. He was an opportunity maker to gain silver and gold, houses and lands, and good business ventures, but he didn’t consider the greatest opportunity for his soul.

Another Missed Opportunity

Another man whom Jesus talked about was also very rich with many possessions. He thought within himself, saying, What shall I do, because I have no room where to bestow my fruits? And he said, This will I do: I will pull down my barns, and build greater; and there will I bestow all my fruits and my goods. And I will say to my soul, Soul, thou hast much goods laid up for many years; take thine ease, eat, drink, and be merry. But God said unto him, Thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee: then whose shall those things be, which thou hast provided? So is he that layeth up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God (Luke 12:17-21). The rich man thought he had it all. He didn’t consider anyone else but himself. Self was on the throne of his soul, but that night he died and lost everything.

In studying the Bible, you will unfortunately find that most of the people from Adam to Jesus Christ were opportunity breakers. Adam and Eve living with the marvelous opportunity of eternal life would never have been sick had they not sinned. Their bodies were made out of the dust of the earth, but they had the greatness and the favor of God. Divine blood flowed in their veins, not human blood. Their flesh was human flesh; but, as long as they committed no sin and as long as they stayed away from the tree of death, the Lord let them know they would never die.

Take Advantage of The New And Living Way

We have this same opportunity today: If we will keep away from the tree of death and cling to the tree of life, we will live forever in Heaven. It is a faithful saying: For if we be dead with him, we shall also live with him (II Timothy 2:11). In Jesus is eternal life.

Jesus brought a new and living way. Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus, By a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh (Hebrews 10:19,20). How glorious is that new and living way!

Dwell on your opportunities. How many opportunities have you missed to win a soul? How many opportunities have you missed when the Lord called you to be alone with Him in the prayer closet, in His garden of love? He wanted to walk and talk with you, and you missed it. You had other things you considered to be more essential or to which you felt a greater responsibility, and you shut out the voice of the Lord. The Bride must not do that in this final hour, saith the Lord. Her ears must be open to the cry of the Holy Spirit and to the voice of Jesus sounding in her ears day and night to win the lost at any cost. It’s almost time for the Bride to go home.

Paul as an Opportunity Breaker

At one time Paul had been an opportunity breaker. Think of the cruel way he once had Christians tortured. He testified against all he could and had so many put to death that he lost count. Paul had been dreadful before his conversion and actually referred to himself as the chief of sinners. This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief (I Timothy 1:15). I verily thought with myself, that I ought to do many things contrary to the name of Jesus of Nazareth. Which thing I also did in Jerusalem: and many of the saints did I shut up in prison, having received authority from the chief priests; and when they were put to death, I gave my voice against them. And I punished them oft in every synagogue, and compelled them to blaspheme; and being exceedingly mad against them, I persecuted them even unto strange cities (Acts 26:9-11). What an opportunity breaker he had been before he received salvation!

Paul failed in his opportunity to see Jesus before He was crucified. He could have heard the Sermon on the Mount, but he was a Pharisee, a hypocrite; and he stayed away from and shunned Jesus. He could have been at the Crucifixion and the Resurrection, but he wasn’t. Like so many others, he was an opportunity breaker.

Doubting Thomas

Thomas became an opportunity breaker even after being with Jesus. He had listened to Him teach and preach and watched Him heal the sick and cast out devils; but, because everything didn’t go the way he thought it should, doubt bound him. Thomas could have been among the first to see Jesus after the Resurrection; he could have been there to witness Jesus coming out of the sepulchre, but his doubt made him an opportunity breaker. For more than a week he stayed away from the disciples, living in his tortured agony of doubt and despair. He had decided he was done with all of it and that none of what he had believed was real. The other disciples therefore said unto him, We have seen the Lord. But he said unto them, Except I shall see in his hands the print of the nails, and put my finger into the print of the nails, and thrust my hand into his side, I will not believe (John 20:25).

It’s disgraceful to be an opportunity breaker, yet we find many like Thomas in the Word of God. And after eight days again his disciples were within, and Thomas with them: then came Jesus, the doors being shut, and stood in the midst, and said, Peace be unto you. Then saith he to Thomas, Reach hither thy finger, and behold my hands; and reach hither thy hand, and thrust it into my side: and be not faithless, but believing. And Thomas answered and said unto him, My Lord and my God. Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed (John 20:26-29).

Felix Had an Opportunity

Felix, a Roman procurator, was an opportunity breaker. He had the great opportunity of hearing the salvation story from none other than Paul. He was now converted and had become a great apostle, but he was imprisoned for his allegiance to Christ. And after certain days, when Felix came with his wife Drusilla, which was a Jewess, he sent for Paul, and heard him concerning the faith in Christ. And as he reasoned of righteousness, temperance, and judgment to come, Felix trembled, and answered, Go thy way for this time; when I have a convenient season, I will call for thee. He hoped also that money should have been given him of Paul, that he might loose him: wherefore he sent for him the oftener, and communed with him. But after two years Porcius Festus came into Felix’ room: and Felix, willing to shew the Jews a pleasure, left Paul bound (Acts 24:24-27).

After his conversion, Paul had the mantle of Jesus and was ready to use it for Felix. The Lord saw to it that Felix heard the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and Felix knew it was real. As Paul reasoned with him about judgments to come and what would happen to him, it seemed Felix couldn’t bear being under conviction so he turned his back on Paul’s words. Don’t call me, Paul, I’ll call you. We have no record that Felix ever called for Paul again. What an opportune time it would have been for Felix to take advantage of all the gifts in Paul’s life, but he failed to do it.

Perhaps Felix had actually heard Jesus preach or seen Him heal the sick and raise the dead. We don’t know his history but only that he knew about Jesus, trembled with conviction and rejected what he heard.

Felix, the opportunity breaker, has been in hell about two thousand years now, and never did he have another opportunity. There are no opportunities in hell. The opportunities are only available in this life for sinners, backsliders, and for those who have failed God. How sad that so many don’t realize the awful consequences of breaking their opportunities! They had better wake up!

We Must Set the Captives Free!

Oh, child of God, this is our time of opportunity. I don’t intend to miss one opportunity to lead a soul to God. I will stop at any time to help someone find Jesus. That’s why we have crusades in foreign lands. That’s why so many travel with me to other nations and work in the hot sun to win souls for the Lord. They find great opportunities because the harvest is ripe.

Americans as a whole are opportunity breakers although they have been offered all kinds of opportunities. Over thirty years ago, the Lord told me I was to go on television to show His miracles at work. Today, people can tune in to see others healed by the Lord and to even feel His presence, if they want to. These are the works of Divinity and not those of Ernest Angley; millions have the opportunity to see the Lord at work and to believe.

I read a story of a man who had compassion on a pitiful little bird in a cage. He knew God had made birds to fly, so he bought it, opened the cage door and let it fly out in God’s liberty.

So many people are shut up like the little bird; but their cages are those of sin, destruction, condemnation, and damnation. We must open the doors of their cages and set them free so they can soar into the greatness of God’s salvation. The Lord has called His children throughout the earth to work to set the captives free.

Paul Became Like Jesus

After his conversion, Paul took advantage of opportunities, and no one could preach like Paul. In all of my studies, I find that Paul became more like Jesus than anyone else, and his life has helped bring me to where I am in the Lord today. It’s amazing what God did for that man who was once the chief of sinners! Most of us have never been as mean as Paul before he found Jesus on the road to Damascus. We who have found forgiveness and the greatness of God must use the mantle of power to bring others to the Lord.

King Agrippa Was Almost Persuaded

Let’s take a look at another opportunity breaker, King Agrippa. Jesus came to set the captives free, and He sent the Apostle Paul to set King Agrippa free. Paul had suffered much to be able to preach the Gospel to those rulers. Paul told Agrippa the story of his conversion to the Gospel of Christ: Whereupon as I went to Damascus with authority and commission from the chief priests, At midday, O king, I saw in the way a light from heaven, above the brightness of the sun, shining round about me and them which journeyed with me. And when we were all fallen to the earth, I heard a voice speaking unto me, and saying in the Hebrew tongue, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me? it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks. And I said, Who art thou, Lord? And he said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest. But rise, and stand upon thy feet: for I have appeared unto thee for this purpose, to make thee a minister and a witness both of these things which thou hast seen, and of those things in the which I will appear unto thee; Delivering thee from the people, and from the Gentiles, unto whom now I send thee, To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me. Whereupon, O king Agrippa, I was not disobedient unto the heavenly vision: But shewed first unto them of Damascus, and at Jerusalem, and throughout all the coasts of Judaea, and then to the Gentiles, that they should repent and turn to God, and do works meet for repentance. For these causes the Jews caught me in the temple, and went about to kill me. Having therefore obtained help of God, I continue unto this day, witnessing both to small and great, saying none other things than those which the prophets and Moses did say should come: That Christ should suffer, and that he should be the first that should rise from the dead, and should shew light unto the people, and to the Gentiles. And as he thus spake for himself, Festus said with a loud voice, Paul, thou art beside thyself; much learning doth make thee mad. But he said, I am not mad, most noble Festus; but speak forth the words of truth and soberness. For the king knoweth of these things, before whom also I speak freely: for I am persuaded that none of these things are hidden from him; for this thing was not done in a corner. King Agrippa, believest thou the prophets? I know that thou believest. Then Agrippa said unto Paul, Almost thou persuadest me to be a Christian (Acts 26:12-28). Agrippa was almost persuaded to accept Jesus. Unfortunately, “almost” won’t work. Almost has no salvation at all. Almost ready to go to Heaven is the same as not being ready at all. People almost persuaded will be left standing outside the gates. How pathetic! I’m sure King Agrippa, the opportunity breaker, is in hell today. We have no record that he ever changed.

Judas Failed His Opportunity

Judas Iscariot was a terrible opportunity breaker! He had walked with Jesus and received salvation, but the Bible tells us that Judas by transgression fell, that he might go to his own place (Acts 1:25). His transgression caused him to fall from the Grace he once was in.

Judas had power to cast out devils at one time, and one devil cannot cast out another devil. Jesus said that if Satan cast out Satan, he is divided against himself; how shall then his kingdom stand? And if I by Beelzebub cast out devils, by whom do your children cast them out? therefore they shall be your judges. But if I cast out devils by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God is come unto you (Matthew 12:26-28). Judas was saved or he could not have delivered people when Jesus sent the twelve forth with power to save, heal, and cast out devils. Many think Judas was a devil from the beginning, but he was not.

Peter almost became the betrayer instead of Judas. He backslid, blasphemed the name of the Lord, cursed and claimed he never knew Jesus. But after the Resurrection, he repented and became a great worker for the Lord.

Judas became an opportunity breaker even after being so close to Jesus. Judas had been with Him day and night for a long time, and he knew Jesus was the very Christ of God and the Savior of the world. The blood covered his soul until he willfully sinned against God and blasphemed against the Holy Ghost. There was no Spirit left to draw him back to the Lord, and he had sold out Jesus for such a small price. Judas tried to repent. He brought back the money he had received for betraying Jesus and threw it down at the feet of the chief priests, but they wouldn’t accept it. There was no repentance for Judas. He had crossed the line of no return.

The Line of No Return

Many people will cross that line of no return in this final hour. Ungodliness and wickedness have taken such a hold on them that they break any and all opportunities to find salvation. They have heard opportunity knock at their door so often, but they won’t open. Heaven knocks on a heart again and again, but then that last knock comes and the opportunity is over for that closed heart. How terrible to die without God!

I read the story of a dying boy. The doctor had told him he would soon die, but he wouldn’t accept the verdict. He was an opportunity breaker; and, although he had good parents, he hadn’t listened to them. His father sent for the pastor who told him the same thing as the doctor, “Son, you’re going to die soon.”

“I’m not ready; I’m not going to die,” the son said.

The pastor did his best, but that’s all he could do and he left.

In an early morning hour, the pastor got a call from a heartbroken father to come because his boy was dying. The pastor got to the boy’s bedside as fast as he could, but the body was already cold. The pastor leaned over and called to him, but there was no answer. He tried using the father’s name and then the mother’s name; still no answer. He used the sister’s name and even the boy’s own name; no answer. It was too late.

Those who love the Lord are willing to call in the name of Jesus to those who are dying, but many of the dying are not willing to respond; this boy wasn’t willing. He was an opportunity breaker. He used his opportunity in a selfish way as he had always done. Not even in his dying hour would he accept truth, not from the doctor, not from the pastor, not from his family, and not from God. He had so much ego that he thought he could defeat death, and death was only a few hours away.

How do you deal with your opportunities? Are you a maker, taker or breaker? This last classification of the opportunity breaker is a terrible one. Untold millions are lost forever in eternity. Never will they have another opportunity and oh, how they want only one more!

The Tormenting Flame of Hell

Jesus told of the rich man who died, and in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom. And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame. But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and thou art tormented (Luke 16:23-25).

There is a literal burning hell for the wicked. The devil denies it and tries to cover it up, but Jesus told us the truth.

In hell the rich man had a missionary spirit, wanting Lazarus to be sent to his five brothers to be warned about what awaited them after death. For I have five brethren; that he may testify unto them, lest they also come into this place of torment. Abraham saith unto him, They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them. And he said, Nay, father Abraham: but if one went unto them from the dead, they will repent. And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead (Luke 16:28-31).

When people deny that a burning hell exists, they will have a rude awakening after death. Many ministers today deny there is a burning hell, but they are not true ministers of the Lord. They are false, denying the damnation of the lake of fire and the flame in hell. Hell is just a state of mind of being away from God, they say. They are disputing the very words of Jesus who said the rich man was tormented in the flame of hell. They are opportunity breakers of the worst kind, deceiving their own congregations. But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived (II Timothy 3:13).

A Tormented Mother

Oh, Mothers, Fathers: You must live right before your children. If your little lambs are lost in hell when you’re still on Earth, think of the price you will pay. In my travels, I met one unforgettable mother. She had backslidden and lived a wicked life in front of her twin daughters. When they were just sixteen they attended a wild party. While speeding down the road on their way home, their car rammed into the back of a truck loaded down with lumber. The car went up under the truck and the lumber broke through the windshield. The girls died instantly. The mother came to me, sobbing. I had never seen anyone so tortured in my life. She held onto me and pleaded for me to ask God to let her take their place in hell, and she meant it. She was suffering such extreme torment because she had failed her children.

“They’re in hell, Preacher!”

I couldn’t tell her they weren’t. They had just come from a wild party and no doubt had been drinking. The mother thought she was the cause of their being in hell. She hadn’t been an opportunity taker, and she hadn’t taught them the way of the Lord. I will never forget her agony, and that has been years ago. Again and again my mind goes back to that woman. I felt so sorry for her as she clung to me, pleading to take her daughters’ places in hell, but all I could do was pray that God would help her.

Galatians 6:10: As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith. Take hold of your opportunity and do nothing but good. Think of that heartbroken mother who had failed her children. She had the opportunity; she knew about Jesus Christ, but she went away from Him to indulge in the sins of the world. Her daughters grew up wild and were killed with no chance to pray. I don’t know what ever happened to that woman; I just know that I have never seen a soul more tortured in all my travels, and I’ve been preaching over sixty-eight years. Her cries and her tortured face still haunt me today.

This Is Your Opportunity

Opportunity Breakers, I’m speaking to you. Don’t continue on your path; make the most of your opportunity to find the true Jesus who said, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me (John 14:6). Don’t miss this call from Jesus, this opportunity to find the Lord. You may never have another chance. The Lord may have kept you alive for this opportunity to accept Jesus Christ. Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved (Acts 4:12). God help you is my prayer.

Wherever the sheep may stray,
If the sheep go wrong,
It will not be long,
Till the lambs are as wrong as they.

So with the sheep we earnestly plead,
For the sake of the lambs today.
If the lambs are lost,
What a terrible cost,
Some sheep will have to pay.

Prayer for Salvation and Healing

Mothers and Fathers, come to Jesus today. If you take this opportunity to come to the Lord you will have an opportunity to help your children. Say this sinners’ prayer and mean it from your heart:

Oh, God, save my soul. I’m so sorry I sinned against you. But I’ve come home, and I’m going to serve you the rest of my life. I confess that I failed you, God. I sinned against you, but I know your Son died for my sins, and I believe the blood of Jesus washes away all my sins. Come into my heart, Jesus!

If you have accepted that prayer in all faith believing, you can say, Hallelujah, He has come! Hallelujah, He is mine!

Parents, if you have made the most of this opportunity, I thank God. Take it, run with it and deal with your children. If you haven’t taught them about salvation, then let them know you have failed God but that you will no longer. Explain the true and living way of Jesus to them so you all can live for the Lord and be in Heaven one day.

You who are sick and afflicted: Jesus came with healing in His wings, and He’s the same yesterday, today and forever. Lord, here they are. I am agreeing with them to be healed today. Those with HIV/AIDS, those with cancer, heart trouble, lung trouble, leprosy, strokes, or any other disease or affliction: Heal! in the divine blood name of Jesus! Heal! Heal! in the all-powerful blood name. Amen and amen.

Now you can get well; but remember, you must live for the Lord. The Lord healed all manner of people when He was here on Earth, but He also said, Behold, thou art made whole: sin no more, lest a worse thing come unto thee (John 5:14). God doesn’t heal people so they can serve the devil; He heals for His honor and for His glory. We must glorify Him by living holy. God wants all the glory. He is the healer, and all the glory goes to our precious Lord and Savior.
