Moving Higher

Moving higher in the Lord—that’s what each child of God must be doing in this last hour. Only when you keep climbing higher and higher toward Heaven will you be all that God wants you to be and have victory over the devil every day.
Are you ready to move up with God? If not, you need to allow the Holy Spirit to get you ready; and the first step is to humble yourself before the Lord. Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up (James 4:10). God is the One who will lift you up; but you must humble yourself in the divine humility that Jesus brought, not human humility.
So many people carry grudges, resentment and other ungodly things in their hearts because they don’t have divine humility. With divine humility comes divine forgiveness; but if you don’t have it, you won’t be able to forgive people. Only the Lord can forgive people of their sins; but with divine forgiveness, we can forgive them for what they do or say to us. And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses. But if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in heaven forgive your trespasses (Mark 11:25,26).
The Bible teaches us to forgive our enemies because we must have nothing but love on the inside. We have to turn our enemies completely over to the Lord. It is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord (Romans 12:19). If you aren’t allowing the Lord to take care of your enemies, you will have to move higher.
Climb As Jacob Did
Jacob had to move higher; and at one time, he saw a ladder reaching all the way to Heaven. And he [Jacob] dreamed, and behold a ladder set up on the earth, and the top of it reached to heaven: and behold the angels of God ascending and descending on it (Genesis 28:12). There were angels on each side of the ladder as far as Jacob could see signifying that those who climb higher in the Lord will have angel help. That ladder is a type of Jesus; and you must climb up in His great love, in His great grace and in His great faith.
Jacob had fallen to the bottom because he had taken on his mother’s deceit. He had robbed his twin brother, Esau, of his birthright; and he had ran away because he was afraid that Esau would kill him. And Esau hated Jacob because of the blessing wherewith his father blessed him: and Esau said in his heart, The days of mourning for my father are at hand; then will I slay my brother Jacob. And these words of Esau her elder son were told to Rebekah: and she sent and called Jacob her younger son, and said unto him, Behold, thy brother Esau, as touching thee, doth comfort himself, purposing to kill thee. Now therefore, my son, obey my voice; and arise, flee thou to Laban my brother to Haran (Genesis 27:41-43).
The Lord had already said that Jacob was to receive the birthright; so if his mother had trusted God and not given over to deceit, Jacob wouldn’t have had to run. But because they both had listened to the devil, they never saw each other again; Rebekah died before Jacob returned.
Jacob realized that what he had done was wrong; and as he was running, he knew that he would have to trust Jehovah God to bring him out. As he was sleeping one night with just a stone for a pillow, he had the dream of the angels and the ladder; and he decided, This is none other but the house of God (Genesis 28:17). At that point, he made his covenant with the Lord. And Jacob vowed a vow, saying, If God will be with me, and will keep me in this way that I go, and will give me bread to eat, and raiment to put on, So that I come again to my father’s house in peace; then shall the LORD be my God: And this stone, which I have set for a pillar, shall be God’s house: and of all that thou shalt give me I will surely give the tenth unto thee (Genesis 28:20-22).
Jacob made his vows before God, and he kept them. Because of that, his life changed; and no matter what happened to him in the years ahead, God looked out for Jacob and brought him back safely to his father’s house.
Jesus Is the Way
Our ladder, Jesus, came saying, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me (John 14:6). No one can climb up to Heaven any other way. Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that entereth not by the door into the sheepfold, but climbeth up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber. I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture (John 10:1,9). Jesus is the door, and you can’t come into the Kingdom unless you come in through the door. Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved (Acts 4:12).
How do you get to the Jesus door?—By moving up to the high road. The Lord told Isaiah the prophet, And an highway shall be there, and a way, and it shall be called The way of holiness; the unclean shall not pass over it (Isaiah 35:8). Jesus also taught about this road. Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it (Matthew 7:13,14). That gate is here on Earth, and you must go through that gate and get rid of all your sins before you can get on the narrow road.
Man Failed God’s Plan
Man and woman were created to move higher with God, not lower with the devil. Go back to the Old Testament and begin reading in Genesis. In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. And God said, Let there be light: and there was light (Genesis 1:1-3). Climb up in the Lord until you know without a doubt that He created the sun, the stars, the Earth and both man and woman. And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness…So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them (Genesis 1:26,27).
When the Lord looked at Adam and Eve, He saw Himself—His love, His grace and His divine blood. He created them out of the dust of the earth, and they were to have lived forever; but when they sinned, the curse came upon all mankind, and that’s so sad when the Lord had warned them about going to the tree of death.
Because Adam and Eve failed, we are all conceived in sins and iniquities. Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me (Psalm 51:5). We came into this world needing to be born new because man and woman no longer had the image of God. That’s why Jesus told Nicodemus, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God (John 3:3).
See Jesus
No one ever again saw the face of God after Adam and Eve were cast out of the Garden; but when Jesus came, He said, He that hath seen me hath seen the Father (John 14:9). When the shepherds looked into the manger, they saw the face of God in the form of a little baby. They saw all the divine love of Heaven that would pay the price so we could all have eternal life. That love would make footprints out of divine blood for us to follow, and the devil could never destroy them. Those footprints were made 2000 years ago, but they’re still just as plain today for everybody to see. How do you see them?—By moving higher.
You have to move up out of sin, degradation, deceit, lust and all of the devil’s filth. People on Earth today are consumed with lust; and if you give in to any of it, it will mean death for you. But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death (James 1:14,15).
Noah Had to Move High
Remember that in Noah’s day, there was so much wickedness on the earth that God killed everyone but eight souls. And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. And it repented the LORD that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart. And the LORD said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth me that I have made them. But Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD (Genesis 6:5-8).
Noah and his family had moved up high in th Lord, and they spent 120 years building the ark. Then the Lord said, Come thou and all thy house into the ark; for thee have I seen righteous before me in this generation. Of every clean beast thou shalt take to thee by sevens, the male and his female: and of beasts that are not clean by two, the male and his female. Of fowls also of the air by sevens, the male and the female; to keep seed alive upon the face of all the earth. For yet seven days, and I will cause it to rain upon the earth forty days and forty nights; and every living substance that I have made will I destroy from off the face of the earth. And Noah did according unto all that the LORD commanded him (Genesis 7:1-5).
After Noah, his family, the animals and all the food were on board the ark, the Lord let the door stay open for seven days. God would not allow Noah to close that door; it had to be His hand that closed the door on lost humanity. And they that went in, went in male and female of all flesh, as God had commanded him [Noah]: and the LORD shut him in (Genesis 7:16). The mighty hand of God swung the door into place, and it would not open again for over a year.
God Does the Impossible
Many people don’t realize that Noah and his family were on the ark for over a year, but the Bible tells us they were. Read about it in Genesis chapters 7 and 8. A year is a long time, but God provided for them and took care of them during that whole time. He kept the meal barrels filled up, and the Lord confirmed that He did exactly that when He performed the same miracle for Elijah in I Kings, chapter 17. God filled up the widow woman’s empty meal barrel and oil cruse and kept them filled throughout the whole famine. It’s hard to tell how many people she was able to feed.
The Lord is God Almighty; and He said, Behold, I am the LORD, the God of all flesh: is there any thing too hard for me (Jeremiah 32:27)? I’ve never seen anything too hard for the Lord. Recently, a member of my church came for prayer because cataracts were taking her sight. After she had received prayer, she went back to her seat; and suddenly one of the cataracts fell out on her cheek. As she sat there glorifying the Lord, the second cataract fell out on her other cheek. She returned with great joy the next week to testify that she had 20/20 vision; God had done it!
Never limit God, and make no room for doubt. You have only a limited amount of room in your mind, so fill it with truth, righteousness, holiness, faith, love and all the divine things that the Lord brought. Jesus brought only divinity to us because that’s all we need. He took on a human body and showed mankind how to use divinity; we have to live in it, pray through it and use it.
The world today is just as wicked as it was in Noah’s day; and our ark, Jesus, is about to sail. Those who are born new and have the Spirit of God are inside the ark. We have just a short while left, so we have to make every day count.
Take on God’s Image
Have you moved high enough in the Lord in this final hour to see the plan of God for the Bride of Christ? Have you moved high enough to see the coming of the Lord in all the reality that Jesus saw it in when He was here? He said, When ye shall see these things come to pass, know that it [my coming] is nigh, even at the doors (Mark 13:29). We can see the signs all around us now. We’re the Rapture generation, and everyone must move high enough to know that they’re going to be on the one flight out.
When you’re born again, you’re created in the image of God through His righteousness and holiness. That ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness (Ephesians 4:24). When God looks at you, He sees His image just as you can see yours when you look in a mirror. The Word of God is the mirror He provides for you to look into to see if you have His image. But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty [the Word], and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed (James 1:25).
Look into God’s mirror and see what looks back at you—is it a pure, holy face? Are they eyes to see what the Lord sees, and ears to hear what the Lord says? He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith (Revelation 2:7,11,17,29; 3:6,13,22). This phrase is so important that the Lord said it seven times; but you can’t hear the Spirit unless you move away from unbelievers, those who won’t accept the Word of the living God or live it. Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you (II Corinthians 6:17). Unfortunately, some people have not climbed high enough to do this.
Jesus, Our Savior
The Lord told Isaiah the prophet, For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts (Isaiah 55:8,9). When Jesus came to Earth, He was the great thought of God—the thought of love and pure grace that would give man and woman a chance to climb all the way to Heaven.
This world is not our home. As children of God, our citizenship papers are in Heaven; we’re joint-heirs with Jesus Christ. The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God: And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ (Romans 8:16,17). Jesus became our big Brother, and He’s at the right hand of the Father making intercession for us. It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us (Romans 8:34).
The Holy Ghost lives and dwells on the inside of us, and He makes intercession for us, too. Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered (Romans 8:26). The Holy Spirit knows what we need even before we ask, but the Lord still wants us to use our faith and ask as the Bible tells us to: Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need (Hebrews 4:16).
Sin Brings Destruction
Adam and Eve were created to live so high in the love, faith, goodness and gentleness of God that they couldn’t climb any higher. If they would have proven themselves before God and stayed away from the tree of death, that tree would have been dumped into hell and then later into the lake of fire. But Adam and Eve didn’t stand true, and they failed God.
The Bible tells us that hell was made for the devil and his angels. Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels (Matthew 25:41). But God told Isaiah that hell had to be enlarged. Hell hath enlarged herself, and opened her mouth without measure (Isaiah 5:14). Hell was enlarged because there were so many sinful human beings. Oh, how Heaven must have cried! The devil had taken over so many people who were supposed to have belonged to God, and that’s why Jesus came. For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life (John 3:16).
God loved man so much; but the divine light had gone out, and man was wandering in the dark. When you give over to the devil, you will act like him, talk like him and walk in total darkness; and in that state, anything is subject to happen to you. When people live in deceit, any light that is found in them is only false. I’ve seen that false light inside and outside of people. They think they’re all right and on their way to Heaven when they’re really on their way to hell.
The Lord says He can’t look upon sin. Thou art of purer eyes than to behold evil, and canst not look on iniquity (Habakkuk 1:13). Of course, God sees sin; but He can’t look upon it with any favor. He won’t endorse it or have anything to do with it. Therefore, if He can’t get sin out of people, He has to cast the container and all into the lake of fire; and hell is waiting for just those kinds of people.
It’s Time to Separate
If you want to stay out of sin, you will have to separate from your unsaved family and friends; and don’t fret over doing it. I don’t fellowship with those in my family who don’t believe in the Bible; I just say hello and goodbye when I run across them. The Lord said, Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword. For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law. And a man’s foes shall be they of his own household (Matthew 10:34-36).
When Jesus was here, He prayed for our separation: They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth. As thou hast sent me into the world, even so have I also sent them into the world. And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they also might be sanctified through the truth (John 17:16-19).
If you associate with people who are unbelievers, you had better watch out because their spirits will rub off on you. Don’t talk to people on the telephone who have no respect for the Word of God, His truth or His Son who died for us.
Why did the ark sail for Noah?—Because his family had separated and moved high above all the doubt and unbelief around them and went beyond to build the ark exactly as the Lord had instructed. The Lord even shut up the wombs of the women and wouldn’t let them have any babies while they were working on the ark because God wasn’t taking a chance on anything contaminating those eight souls. When God can find even just one human being to work through, He can do wonderful things!
Move Up to Rapture Ground
It’s easy for God to prove that the Rapture will take place because He already raptured Enoch thousands of years ago. And Enoch walked with God: and he was not; for God took him (Genesis 5:24). Where were Enoch’s wife, his children and his grandchildren?—They were all left behind, and the same thing will happen to people today who aren’t ready to meet the Lord when He makes His second appearance. Jesus said, I tell you, in that night there shall be two men in one bed; the one shall be taken, and the other shall be left. Two women shall be grinding together; the one shall be taken, and the other left (Luke 17:34,35).
We have to move high enough to be able to see and believe what God is doing. We must recognize both the bad signs and the good signs that Jesus warned us about and then move up high enough to be able to see and be ready for the coming of the Lord. Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed (I Corinthians 15:51,52). You must move up high in God’s divine love and faith to be changed in a moment and in a twinkling of an eye.
You have to move high enough until you can believe this and all the other prophecies of God. Many have been fulfilled, and many more of them are now being fulfilled or are on their way to being fulfilled. As soon as they’ve all been fulfilled, Jesus will come.
God Worked on Moses
Moses’ parents had to move high enough to dare to hide their son when the Egyptians were killing all the baby boys. Then that gave them the faith they needed to send him floating down the Nile River in a little, homemade ark. And when she [Moses’ mother] could not longer hide him, she took for him an ark of bulrushes, and daubed it with slime and with pitch, and put the child therein; and she laid it in the flags by the river’s brink (Exodus 2:3).
God had big plans for Moses to bring the Israelites out of Egypt, and He directed his little ark right into the arms of Pharaoh’s daughter. God even saw to it that Moses’ own mother became his nursemaid; and I’m sure she taught him all about Jehovah God, His great love and His many promises.
As Moses grew, the Lord kept working with him; and finally after forty years, he was ready to be used. God had been so longsuffering and patient with him because He had to make sure that Moses had no spots or wrinkles. Today, we must allow God to move us out from everything that’s unlike Him because He’s coming after only those who are pure and holy. That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish (Ephesians 5:27).
Moses was human, and God knew he would need His divine hand to stand before Pharaoh and to bring a nation out of captivity. What did Moses have in his hand?—Only a shepherd’s staff. And the LORD said unto him [Moses], What is that in thine hand? And he said, A rod. And he said, Cast it on the ground. And he cast it on the ground, and it became a serpent; and Moses fled from before it. And the LORD said unto Moses, Put forth thine hand, and take it by the tail. And he put forth his hand, and caught it, and it became a rod in his hand (Exodus 4:2-4).
Moses had the rod of truth, and we must have it, too. Jesus said, Ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free (John 8:32). You must know the truth, accept it and use it; then you’ll be all right. All the sin and deceit will go, and you’ll be a true son or daughter of God.
The Lord continued to lift Moses higher and higher. He showed him things that were going to happen, and He used him to perform miracle after miracle. God wanted to do the same thing for the Israelites who had been slaves all their lives, but they doubted no matter what He did for them. If you don’t want to believe God and allow Him to sweeten your life with the Cross, you’ll never make it—the Word of God proves that.
God Will Move
The Lord didn’t give up on the Israelites; He kept moving until He was able to bring them to the shores of the Red Sea. When they arrived, Moses said unto the people, Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the LORD (Exodus 14:13). The Lord told the people to stand still, but Moses had moved so much higher than the people that he was already standing still and waiting for the direction of the Lord. They that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint (Isaiah 40:31).
When the people waited and stood still, the hand of God moved just as He had promised it would. The waters of the Red Sea separated, and they walked through on dry ground.
Today, the Bride must wait to see the hand of God move, too. If you don’t see it moving for you daily, then there’s a higher place for you to move to. You must get to that place and believe God.
Stop doubting God; and don’t go around worrying, fretting and talking weak. These things don’t make you a good testimony. Jesus never talked about trouble, doubt and despair; and the Bible says we’re judged by every idle word we speak. But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment (Matthew 12:36). I’m very careful with what I say. If Jesus wouldn’t say something, then I don’t want to say it either; and neither should you.
You’re going to have to be completely holy before the Lord with a holy tongue, a holy heart, holy ears, holy eyes and holy hands. Paul said, I will therefore that men pray everywhere, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting (I Timothy 2:8).
Divine Light Brings Deliverance
The truth makes you holy and uncovers deceit, disobedience and anything else that will keep you out of the Rapture. You have to move up high to accept the plan of God—His redemption, His sanctification, His holiness and the infilling of the real Holy Ghost. Talking in tongues at will is not of God; the Lord told me that it’s either of self or of self and the devil. This then opens the door for the devil to take over completely.
The Lord has given me the gift of interpretation; so I know that when the Holy Ghost speaks, He’s really saying something. When I travel overseas, I hear people, even ministers, speaking in tongues; but most of the time it isn’t of God. They don’t have the real Holy Ghost; the devil is fooling them, and no one can afford that in this last hour.
We have to accept Jesus Christ as Lord, Master, Savior and our light in the darkness. Jesus came saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life (John 8:12). His divine light shines on people in our overseas crusades, and mighty miracles take place. The Lord heals people of HIV/AIDS, cancer, diabetes and many other diseases that doctors have no cure for. God has all power!
God said that in the last days He’d rain His power down; and now, He’s pouring it out. He brings people out of witchcraft, voodoo and all the darknesses of the devil; and He makes them brand new through the blood. Then the Spirit takes over and thousands are baptized in the good Holy Ghost in just a matter of minutes.
Move Up to Miracles
When sickness comes to your door, don’t give up. Climb up higher and use the divine faith the Lord has given you. The prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up (James 5:15). Climb up as high as you can, and then the Lord will raise you up the rest of the way.
The Bible tells us that Jesus was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed (Isaiah 53:5). Jesus came to bring us miracles; and when He was here, He went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all manner of sickness and all manner of disease among the people (Matthew 4:23).
God healed me when I was in a dying condition at just twenty-three years of age. I thought life was over for me, but Jesus Christ came and made me whole all over. I had been through so much torture, and my body had gone down to almost a skeleton; but it was completely restored.
My heart bleeds for people who are suffering and in pain. I have so much compassion for them because I know that God can do for others what He did for me. After all these years, that miracle still lives in me. I can do the work of many men, and the Lord gives me great strength. When I travel to other nations, I preach to and pray for people for hours, yet it seems as if I don’t know the end of my strength. God moves in miraculous ways; so I keep fasting, praying and climbing to help people. I warn them that they have to move, too, because the Lord is ready to work. Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God (Philippians 4:6).
Use God’s Love
Don’t listen to the devil or he’ll frighten you and stop you dead in your tracks. He’ll show you things that may appear to be so pretty and pleasant, but don’t let him fool you. The devil only brings death; and when he touches a soul, it dies, too.
Never carry fear; get rid of it right away when it comes. Give over to the Holy Spirit, and He’ll flush the fear right out with the love of God. The Bible says, There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear (I John 4:18). Perfect love is divine love; it’s holy and without blemish, and it will destroy all fear.
Jesus brought the divine greatness from Heaven that will make you strong. It includes all nine fruits of the Spirit, but you can’t have them without the Holy Ghost. He is the one who produces them right on the inside of you, but many people don’t realize that the spiritual fruit trees can really be theirs and that they’re more precious and more powerful than all the beautiful, physical fruit trees that were in Eden. The spiritual trees have everything we need—divine love, divine faith, divine hope, divine peace, divine gentleness and goodness, divine patience and divine self-control. You can use these fruits to be everything that God wants you to be; and as you climb higher, decide that you want to be just like Jesus.
Obey and Receive
Abraham had moved high enough to have the faith of God when he told Isaac, My son, God will provide (Genesis 22:8). I’ve said that so many times when we needed God to provide for this great outreach ministry. When money was scarce, I knew it would have to come from the hand of God; and even while waiting at a traffic light, I’d be saying, “God will provide.” Child of God, if you’ll take that into your own heart, too, you’ll be surprised how God will move for you. The thought of His great supply will take away all your doubt and fear and enable you to relax and know that He won’t fail you.
Isaiah climbed up high in the Lord and received many wonderful revelations. At one time, the Lord wanted him to carry His message to Israel. At first Isaiah didn’t want to go, but the Lord knew what it would take for him to obey. He instructed an angel to take a coal of fire from the altar of God and press it to Isaiah’s lips. Then Isaiah said, Here am I; send me (Isaiah 6:8). This was a type and shadow of the fire of the Holy Ghost, and everything changes when your soul is set on fire.
Receive the Holy Ghost
Look into the Upper Room on the Day of Pentecost and see the disciples being filled with the Holy Ghost. And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance (Acts 2:3,4). The Holy Ghost appeared in the form of forked tongues of fire, and those tongues broke apart and landed on each disciple. About 120 of them were filled, and the revival was on.
At last, mankind had mounted as high here on Earth as Jesus had. They had been made new creatures and had taken on His traits and characteristics. They finally had the image of God; and for the first time, the disciples could see the need of taking the Gospel to all people. Jesus had given them that message earlier when He had said, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature (Mark 16:15); but they hadn’t seen the need of it. It took the Holy Ghost to move them up that high.
With that power from On High, they evangelized the known world in a little over thirty years. They were persecuted in so many awful ways; but the more they were persecuted, the more they scattered in all directions preaching, teaching and praying for the people. The rain came down from Heaven, and there were miracles in abundance. Today, every ministry that’s really of God will have miracles and healings; they are the will of the Lord for all people.
Only Believe
The Bible tells a wonderful story about a man who had brought his son to Jesus to be delivered. The man had first taken his son to Jesus’ disciples, but they couldn’t deliver him. However, the man didn’t stop there; he moved on to Jesus saying, Master, I have brought unto thee my son, which hath a dumb spirit; And wheresoever he taketh him, he teareth him: and he foameth, and gnasheth with his teeth, and pineth away: and I spake to thy disciples that they should cast him out; and they could not. He answereth him, and saith, O faithless generation, how long shall I be with you? how long shall I suffer you? bring him unto me. And they brought him unto him: and when he saw him, straightway the spirit tare him; and he fell on the ground, and wallowed foaming. And he asked his father, How long is it ago since this came unto him? And he said, Of a child. And ofttimes it hath cast him into the fire, and into the waters, to destroy him: but if thou canst do any thing, have compassion on us, and help us (Mark 9:17-22).
Notice the man said, If you can do anything. The Lord threw that “if” right back at him and said, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth. And straightway the father of the child cried out, and said with tears, Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief (Mark 9:23,24). If you want to move up higher with the Lord, you too have to say, “Lord, if there’s any unbelief in me, take it away. I don’t want to make any room for doubt. I do believe; I do believe.”
After the man had gone, the disciples were embarrassed; and they asked Jesus why they weren’t able to deliver the boy. And he said unto them, This kind can come forth by nothing, but by prayer and fasting (Mark 9:29). To climb this ladder and move into the miracle realm, you have to fast.
Fasting and Prayer Will Take You Higher
Somebody asked Jesus one day, Why do the disciples of John [John the Baptist] and of the Pharisees fast, but thy disciples fast not? And Jesus said unto them, Can the children of the bridechamber fast, while the bridegroom is with them? as long as they have the bridegroom with them, they cannot fast. But the days will come, when the bridegroom shall be taken away from them, and then shall they fast in those days (Mark 2:18-20). Jesus has gone on to Heaven; and today, His true disciples fast. Fasting humbles you and gives you divine strength and great joy. For the joy of the LORD is your strength (Nehemiah 8:10). This Jesus ministry is a fasting ministry, and the gifts of the Spirit would not work in my life if I didn’t fast. Many fasts go as long as forty days, but every sacrifice is worth it to help and deliver people throughout the world.
It also takes prayer to climb this ladder, not wasted prayer but real prayer. You have to come to the place where you can say as Jesus did, Father, I thank thee that thou hast heard me. And I knew that thou hearest me always (John 11:41,42). You’re not supposed to struggle in prayer; you must know that God always hears you. Jesus brought truth and grace so we wouldn’t have to struggle.
Jesus came and gave us a blood line straight to Heaven, and the devil can’t put any static on that line. If your prayers are not going through, it’s because you’re allowing the devil to hinder them. Today, many Christians have more confidence in their telephones than they do in Jesus Christ and God the Father. They believe their telephone will allow them to talk to people anywhere in the world, and that takes a lot of human faith to believe that. Now, if you can reach that far with human faith, just think what you could do with divine faith.
Don’t Doubt God
Why do you doubt God? If you’re living holy and free from all sin, you’re a son or a daughter of God just like Jesus is; and God said His ears are open to the cry of the righteous. The eyes of the LORD are upon the righteous, and his ears are open unto their cry (Psalm 34:15). When I pray for people, I tell them again and again, “The Lord heard that prayer.”
You must believe with all your heart that Jesus hears you and that He came to destroy the works of the devil. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil (I John 3:8). We must have that same mission; and to accomplish it, the Lord gives us great spiritual bombs to drop on the devil—truth and grace.
Jesus came to set captives free. The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, To preach the acceptable year of the Lord (Luke 4:18,19). The Bible says, God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him (Acts 10:38). True Christians cannot be possessed by the devil, but they can be oppressed by him; however, you don’t have to carry that spirit around because Jesus came to set you free.
We have to leave the world behind and be just like Jesus. We must take His place and be His hands, His eyes, His ears and His feet. We have to accept all of Christ’s teachings and all that He brought to earth and be determined to use them.
We have to be full of godliness and true holiness. Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord (Hebrews 12:14). We must speak only God’s language—the language of love. For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ (Philippians 3:20). The Bible also says, But speaking the truth in love, [children of God] may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ (Ephesians 4:15).
Paul Climbed All the Way to Heaven
The great Apostle Paul had to do some mighty climbing to be used by God. Before he was saved, he had Christians put to death; but once he learned there really was a ladder all the way to Heaven named Jesus, he started moving higher. He received a real born-again experience and went on to receive the Holy Ghost baptism. Then he went into the wilderness for three-and-a-half years to be taught by the Holy Ghost.
Paul had been educated in some of the best schools of his day. He had held one of the highest seats in the court of his people and had been reared in great wealth, but he gave it all up for Jesus with no regrets. And I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ (Philippians 3:8). Paul had given himself so completely to God that at the end of his climb, he sealed his testimony with his own blood.
Before his death, Paul wrote two great letters to Timothy, a young disciple who had become like a son to him. He dearly loved Timothy, and he didn’t want Timothy to cry for him; so he gave him some great advice. Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ. No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier (II Timothy 2:3,4). Paul didn’t want Timothy to fall back into the world; he wanted him to be a good soldier of the faith.
Paul said, For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith (II Timothy 4:6,7). Paul was ready to give his life for the sake of Christ, and he did just that on Nero’s chop block. Many people must have been brought to the Lord when Paul died.
Stephen’s death brought many people into the Kingdom, and Paul was one of them. He had watched Stephen give his life for the sake of Christ. And they stoned Stephen, calling upon God, and saying, Lord Jesus, receive my spirit. And he kneeled down, and cried with a loud voice, Lord, lay not this sin to their charge. And when he had said this, he fell asleep (Acts 7:59,60). Stephen died just like Jesus did saying, “Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do.” Stephen used his last breath to say that, and it was a wonderful testimony from a good soldier of the Cross.
Be a Good Soldier
Down through the years, there have been a lot of good soldiers of the Cross; and the Lord is making more and more of them in this final hour. Good soldiers will use God’s faith, not human faith. They will use divine love that reaches down to lift men, women, boys and girls out of the slime pits of sin and establish their goings through the blood of Jesus Christ. They will move up higher and higher until all the doubt, fear, depression and oppression are gone.
It’s time for us to shout to the whole world that Jesus is soon coming. We have to sound the alarm just as John the Baptist did about the first appearance of Christ. As it is written in the prophets, Behold, I send my messenger before thy face, which shall prepare thy way before thee. The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight (Mark 1:2,3). The voice in the wilderness of this world today is made up of many, many voices, and we’re looking for many more to join us in telling the great story of Jesus. We’re shouting, “He is coming! He is coming!” When we shout it for the last time, He’ll be here. Praise God forevermore!
Good soldiers won’t sit by the wayside no matter how they feel. Jesus was sitting at the well, weary from His journey; but when a woman came to draw water, He wasn’t too tired or stressed out to help her. She got saved and then ran to tell others about Jesus. The woman then left her waterpot, and went her way into the city, and saith to the men, Come, see a man, which told me all things that ever I did: is not this the Christ (John 4:28,29)? That woman started a revival!
A Glorious Vision
Does all this make you want to move higher? The higher you climb, the better you can hear what the Spirit is saying and the better you can see what Heaven sees. It’s time for us to open our eyes and behold the glory of the Lord! It’s time for us to see His miracles just as Elijah and Elisha did. Elijah had moved up so high that God took him to Heaven alive. And it came to pass, as they [Elijah and Elisha] still went on, and talked, that, behold, there appeared a chariot of fire, and horses of fire, and parted them both asunder; and Elijah went up by a whirlwind into heaven. And Elisha saw it, and he cried, My father, my father, the chariot of Israel, and the horsemen thereof. And he saw him no more (II Kings 2:11,12).
My mother had moved up high in the Lord; and after she died, the Lord showed me that He had taken her home in a heavenly chariot, too. I was so disappointed that I could not be with her when she died, but I had to be on duty for the Lord preaching the Gospel to the people. However, God was so mindful; and while I was on the plane on my way to preach her funeral, He showed me a wonderful vision of Mama going to Heaven.
I saw the most beautiful chariot I could ever imagine going right through the air, and it was filled with all kinds of beautiful flowers. There was a young woman in the chariot with dark brown hair, but I didn’t know it was my mama until the chariot swept right down within a few of yards of me. I gasped when I realized it was Mama. She was so young and beautiful, and her skin was lovely; but she never looked my way because she was looking up toward Heaven. God was so good to me, and I’ll never forget that experience. I’m glad I had moved up high enough for God to do that for me.
Walk the High Road
Have you moved up to God’s high road? That’s where you have to be to have the thoughts of God, to have His visitations and visions. I’m walking on that high road, and that’s why the Spirit of God will come upon me and give me His thoughts as I preach and teach. He takes over my eyes and lets me look inside a person’s body, and I can see the disease that’s taking their life or the affliction that’s causing them pain.
On the high road, God reveals the spiritual conditions of people to me as I look with the eyes of God and see the Cross inside of them. If people are living free from all sin and obeying the Lord in everything, the whole Cross lights up. In others, just part of the Cross lights up; but in those who are completely lost, the Cross doesn’t light up at all. How sad, especially if people are deceived into thinking they’re saved. Many people think they can do whatever they want and still go to Heaven, but that’s a lie of the devil.
You can’t listen to the devil or to the voices of sinners here on this Earth; you have to listen to the voice from above. How wonderful that Israel heard the voice of God from Mount Sinai, but they didn’t want Him to ever speak to them again. And they [the Israelites] said unto Moses, Speak thou with us, and we will hear: but let not God speak with us, lest we die (Exodus 20:19). It scared them because they didn’t live holy lives or have holy hearts, but the voice of God won’t frighten His true people. He is our God, our Lord, our Savior and our soon-coming King—the One who has gone to prepare a place for us. In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also (John 14:2,3). Jesus did go away; but thank God, He will come again.
Claim the Promises
It’s time to move with the Lord; and He is trying to move us so high that we will have the mind of Christ and live a sanctified, holy life. Those of us who have moved higher are looking for and expecting Jesus to come any day, and we’re sacrificing to send the Word of God to the world. We’re moving up so high in God and His love that we are no longer sitting on the boat; we’re walking on the seas of life, and God’s promises are under every step we make. We’re walking the waters just like Jesus did, without fear and torment; and the big waves rolling in can’t take our minds or our eyes off of Jesus.
We have been to the Upper Room and received the great promise of the Holy Ghost, but every promise of God is conditional. If you don’t meet the conditions of the promises, then they’re just print on paper. I seek to meet the condition of every promise because if I don’t need some of God’s promises for myself, I know I will need them for someone else. I never want to meet a person when I haven’t met the condition of the promise that I need to help them.
This is the final hour, and we must do the will of God. If we fail, many will die and go to hell. It’s sad for just one soul to end up in hell, but for untold millions to go would be a tragedy. So many people in this old world are not ready to meet Jesus. They’re blind and walking in the night, and they don’t know the hour we live in. They don’t know that judgment is about to fall or that calamity will soon strike.
No one can go to Heaven unless they are born new and set free from all sin, and we must tell them the truth. We must listen to the Lord’s voice urging us to move higher and to go deeper. The power of the Holy Ghost living and moving within you will keep you from looking down, and you never want to do that or you might fall. Always look up to Jesus and move higher. Those of you who are saved, take a mighty anointing from the Lord so you can climb like you’ve never climbed before until Jesus comes to take His Bride home!
Move Up to Salvation
Sinner, you must flee the wrath of God to come. I offer you the strait gate today. Come to Jesus through that gate and get on the holy, high road, the narrow, love road that leads straight to Heaven. Then you too can move higher and higher.
Pray this prayer: Oh, God, save my soul. Take me through the strait gate and plant my feet on the holy road that leads to Heaven. I know that I have sinned and that I’m not fit for Heaven in the condition I’m in, and hell and the lake of fire will be my destiny if I don’t change. But I’m coming to you, Jesus; and you said that if I would repent of my sins, you would forgive me. I do repent with godly sorrow. I’m so sorry that I’ve sinned against you; but, precious Lord, I have come home, and I will serve you for the rest of my life. I believe that the blood of Jesus washes away all of my sins. Come into my heart, Jesus! Come on in!
If you meant that prayer, now you can say, Hallelujah! Jesus is mine. Hallelujah! I have found the One who gave His life for me, and I will serve Him for the rest of my life.
Receive a Miracle
You who are sick and afflicted, come out of that valley today. Medical science may say there is no cure for your disease, but Jesus is the cure. Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases (Psalm 103:3). I’m not the healer; I’m just the Lord’s believer, and His gifts work in my life to set the captives free.
Lord, I bring the sick and afflicted to you, those with HIV/AIDS, cancer, diabetes, heart trouble, lung trouble, paralysis, leprosy and other deadly diseases. I bring the little children who have been born deformed or with just a part of a brain. Lord, you’ve already healed thousands of people through this Jesus ministry, and we know you’ll deliver many more. Heal! in the all-powerful name of Jesus. Heal!
The Lord is our Healer for soul, mind and body. Get well now and write or email to tell me about your miracle as multitudes are doing. The testimonies are coming in day after day from people who are being healed of AIDS and many other diseases. It’s wonderful what God is doing and what He is about to do in this final hour. God bless you.
