Lucifer Cast Out of Heaven
Volume 4 The Mysteries of God
by Ernest Angley
April 1994
When did sin start? Where did it come from? Some people have the audacity to say God started it, that God created sin. It’s a crime to place such a charge at God’s door, to accuse the pure, Almighty God of creating sin, the God who gave His Son on Calvary so that man could be cleansed from sin.
Isaiah the prophet received profound insight from God, great knowledge about the fall of Lucifer: How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations (Isaiah 14:12)! This verse was written a long, long time after Lucifer was cast out of Heaven. For thou hast said in thine heart… (Notice: the devil has a heart. He doesn’t act like it now; but once it was a good one. Through sin he destroyed all goodness in it.) For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north: I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High (verses 13,14). Lucifer makes this statement from Earth; he has already been cast out of Heaven.
Lucifer will bring about the Battle of Armageddon, cause God to destroy with an earthquake so monstrous that it will tear down all the large cities throughout the whole world in the Tribulation Period. In Revelation the Tribulation Period is spoken of as though it has already taken place: And there was a great earthquake, such as was not since men were upon the earth, so mighty an earthquake, and so great. And the great city was divided into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell (Revelation 16:18,19). Lucifer thinks he will be more powerful than God, but God differs. God speaks to him: Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit (Isaiah 14:15). After he loses the Battle of Armageddon at the close of the Tribulation Period, Lucifer will be in the bottomless pit for a thousand years. Those who see him in the pit will give him a glance and walk away, totally unimpressed. In the form of a man, Lucifer won’t look like much of a threat; he is conquered, in prison. Many thousands of years Lucifer has roamed the earth tormenting people, but in the pit he won’t be able to tempt or affect anyone, not even those who would like to yield to him. He will have no one to talk to.
They that see thee shall narrowly look upon thee, and consider thee, saying, Is this the man that made the earth to tremble, that did shake kingdoms; That made the world as a wilderness, and destroyed the cities thereof; that opened not the house of his prisoners (Isaiah 14:16,17)? Lucifer won’t open the house of his prisoners; he keeps his victims confined. No liberty, no freedom, no love or mercy is in Lucifer for anyone, not even for those who worship him. He hates everyone; he has no love about him at all.
Satan Answers to Various Names
Many names have been given to the devil in the Word of God: Satan: the chief of fallen angels. He is the chief of sin, father of all lies. Sin began in him. Satan means to be adverse, to plot against.
Devil: the chief evil spirit, the foe of God.
Lucifer: light. The Bible speaks of the brightness of Lucifer before he was cast out of Heaven. His brightness was one of the things that caused him to be lifted up in his own eyes. No doubt he carried the brightest light of any created angelic being God had ever made, a beautiful light. The prophet Ezekiel tells how God dressed Lucifer in gems, a garment that would be priceless on today’s market. Lucifer was knowledgeable; God trusted him while he was yet in Heaven. He, in all probability, was over many, many angels, guiding them with love, giving them instructions from God. As far as the angels were concerned, he was God’s right hand, directing them and doing God’s work. His influence was great. But through his beauty, through pride, he became lifted up and rebelled against God.
Beelzebub: god of insects. Jesus called him that, among other names. You wanted to be a god, Lucifer? You can be god of flies. When you know the truth about Lucifer, know what God thinks of him, you can laugh at him.
Belial: wickedness and worthlessness. For God to say you are worthless means that nothing good is in you at all, the worst thing God could say about you. He doesn’t count a tree worthless, or a bird, or flower.
The Tempter: Lucifer will tempt you. He tempted Jesus. Has he ever tried to get you to do or say anything wrong? Do you have trouble with him at all?
The Serpent: He is a slimy devil; the Lord likes to call him a serpent. Serpents remind me of the devil, repulsive, crawling in the dust, tongues darting out.
The Evil One, the Dragon: Lucifer is full of evil. You can’t give him too many bad names: The Destroyer, the Accuser, the Wicked One, the Ruler of Darkness.
God’s Great Enemy
Today Lucifer is the prince of this world that the Lord is going to destroy, the power of the air, a degraded seat. His rank shows you how God looks upon the degraded inhabitants of the world with their ungodliness, filth and nastiness. God lets Satan be the prince of filth. Adam and Eve made Satan their god in place of the true and living God. Adam, head of the human race, had the authority, the power to deliver the whole human race into the hands of Lucifer; and he made the delivery.
Listen to Lucifer’s “I will’s,” and you’ll know the arrogance of his character, his personality, his lust for power: I will ascend into heaven. Lucifer has been cast out of Heaven for thousands, even millions, of years at this writing, but he still insists he is going back. I will exalt my throne above the stars of God. The stars had been created when Lucifer said this. I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north: I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High (Isaiah 14:13,14). I will, I will, I will. Lucifer thinks he will carry out his grand plans, but again he is wrong. Lucifer is the great enemy of God, of all goodness, of all real love, peace, joy, all happiness.
Some people, in reading the Bible, take a line or two here, or a verse there and make doctrines out of these isolated scriptures. Always remember that the Bible declares no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost (II Peter 1:20,21). People distort the Word of God because they won’t gather all the scriptures on a subject and fit them together to find what God means. Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth (II Timothy 2:15).
God Punishes Evil
I’m going to explain a scripture that some people stumble over, blaming God for sin, declaring that God created sin. They don’t know what God is talking about in Isaiah 45:7 when He stated through the prophet Isaiah, I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things. God, in this verse, when He said He created evil, did not mean He created sin. He wasn’t talking about that at all but about destruction of sin.
Considering all the damage Lucifer has caused the human race, it is no wonder the Lord will say to those who follow Lucifer, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels (Matthew 25:41). Human beings who give over to the devil like the fallen angels are destined for the everlasting fire. The Lord created an evil place, but He was forced to do it to destroy sin from the earth. To get rid of sin, God must destroy the vessels in which sin resides: Lucifer, the fallen angels and all human beings who will not surrender to Calvary.
God knew how many millions or billions of angels went with the devil when he was cast out of Heaven, and He knew how large to make hell. He created it that size. He didn’t create it for mankind at all. But after the fall of man, hell was enlarged. Hell hath enlarged herself, and opened her mouth without measure (Isaiah 5:14).
Would you call the destruction in the Book of Revelation good or evil? God was forced to create destruction, evil judgment on evil because Lucifer had sinned and a third part of the angels followed him, rebelling in Heaven. God has nothing to do with sin but to judge it. He doesn’t endorse it at all.
Evil means to cause pain or trouble, bring misfortune, to be injurious, disastrous. God is saying that He created pain, misery as weapons of judgment against sin.
Sin is breaking the laws of God. Again I say, God did not create sin. Do you think God would create something that would break His laws, do wrong against His truth? If the Bible tells you anything, it is to accept the truth and be free, accept the truth and treat it right. Any thought, word, action or desire that goes against the Law of God is sin when it is acted out.
Satan, an Angel of Light
For many years through the gift of discerning of spirits the Lord has given me a study of the kingdom of Satan. In 1954 the Lord started with me in the divine visitation, telling me I would have to know the kingdom of Satan, the Kingdom of God and the spirit of man and to be able to separate them. This can only be done through God’s spirit of discernment, never within flesh. Many people have gotten into trouble trying to discern through their own spirits.
The Lord brought different spirits to me, teaching me how they look, the forms they take, how they act and deceive people. You may think you want the gift of discerning of spirits, but you don’t. Who wants to look at demonic powers? Who wants to look at the unbearable? Through the darkness, demon eyes—big as horse eyes—glitter with fiery light. At other times demons take on the form of panting wolves coming toward you with slobbering tongues licking out. I learned not to fear them because I am protected by the blood of Jesus.
To look into a soul and see those demonic spirits is grievous. I’ve seen them when they took on the form of a man’s head—no hair—and a face with a leering grin. The Lord had to lift some of my compassion, for I don’t think I could have lived long looking into the souls of men, women, boys and girls and seeing the devils that actually bound them. It affected me until I thought it would kill me. You can read about devils and devil possession in the Bible—Jesus cast out devils—but then you enter the kingdom of the devil, seeing as God sees, there are no words to adequately describe the horror of it.
Through the gift of discerning I first see angels coming toward me as a tiny dot of light the size of the end of my little finger, but I don’t know from a distance whether the light is an angel of God or the light of a demonic spirit. When the light gets closer I can tell through the Spirit of God, through the spirit of discernment, just what I am seeing. The Lord taught me to wait and be sure. Angels carry beautiful light, real light; but the light all demonic spirits carry is a counterfeit of God’s light.
The Lord schooled me in the discerning of spirits a long time before he brought the devil before me, and when He finally did, He didn’t warn me. I actually saw Satan. I don’t know how the devil looked before he fell; he must have been dazzling.
Lucifer was brightness. And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light (II Corinthians 11:14). I saw him shrouded in a beautiful white light, dressed similarly to the way he is described in Ezekiel. He dazzled with his jewels. I thought, “Oh, God, I’ve never seen an angel like this!” He was lighting up the place as he came toward me. I looked at him just as I would look at another person. “Lord,” I thought, “what kind of angel is this?” The Lord let Lucifer get very close to me and then He stripped him. I just gasped. Oh my God, that was something! To be eyeball to eyeball with the devil and now there wasn’t anything dazzling about him at all. His light, his jewels were all counterfeit. He was uglier than one could ever imagine, eyes glittering with demonic hate. He hated me! I had never before witnessed such hate. No wonder God cast him out of Heaven; no wonder God is going to destroy him in the lake of fire! I never will forget that experience; I have lived and relived it. If the Lord doesn’t wipe it away, I will relive it for eternity—but surely it will be wiped away by then.
The scripture of II Corinthians 11:14 referring to Lucifer as an angel of light took on great meaning, living reality. You can read the Bible, but when you actually experience what it is talking about, the Word becomes a part of you. You can read about a born-again experience, the baptism in the Holy Spirit, but when you experience them, the scriptures burst into new life.
God Warned Lucifer and the Angels before They Fell
God is just; He gave His Son to set mankind free. But those who don’t accept Him will find their freedom destroyed. If sin isn’t destroyed through Calvary, saith the Lord, it will be destroyed through judgment. God will destroy all sin, and sin will never be again; but sin will not be destroyed until the originator of sin, Lucifer, is destroyed. At one time there was no sin in Heaven. The angels were given the privilege of choice: they could obey God or disobey Him. God wanted them to worship Him because He was God, to love Him for Himself and not because they had to. God had made them with the intelligence to know they should worship Him, and He let them know disobedience would be a destructive decision.
Children, this should teach you to obey your parents because little disobediences can turn into something very dangerous. Those little disobediences of Lucifer created iniquity within him. It was the beginning, God said, of sin. By disobeying in little things, a seed, a thought, was planted. Sin all started from one tiny seed of a thought. I don’t have to do what God says. I don’t have to obey Him in perfection. I don’t have to do everything. I will do this, instead.
In one of His messages, the Lord let us know that He had warned Lucifer; He had also warned the angels who began to fail, to disobey God and follow Lucifer. Think how it grieved the heart of God, how much time He must have spent trying to tell the angels what would happen. They didn’t believe Him because Lucifer had more influence over them. Lucifer had lived among them, was with them, disarmed them and enticed them into disobeying God, too. Then one day iniquity was found in Lucifer’s heart.
Disobedience breeds a spirit of dissatisfaction. Lucifer became dissatisfied with God, with God’s truth and God’s ways. When a person becomes dissatisfied with the truth of God, that one is in trouble. Dissatisfaction breeds arrogance. Lucifer took on a spirit of arrogance, began to resist the authority of God. He took on a spirit of opposing control; he didn’t want God to have authority over him. You are in trouble when you resist the authority of God, when you don’t want to be under His control. Through disobedience you become heady and high-minded, a lover of self. That’s exactly what Lucifer became, a lover of self.
The Bible tells us that Lucifer was once perfect. Thou hast been in Eden the garden of God; Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee (Ezekiel 28:13,15). Iniquity did not exist in the beginning until it was found in Lucifer, the originator of sin.
Lucifer Is the Source of Death
Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man: But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death (James 1:13-15). God does not tempt man with sin, and He didn’t tempt Lucifer with it. James lets us know how sin is conceived, how it brings forth death. Lust brought spiritual death to Lucifer; he is the source of death.
Jesus came that through His shed blood on the Cross he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil (Hebrews 2:14). Jesus brought the opportunity for us to have eternal life with Him in Heaven. Though we die, yet shall we live. Jesus defeated death, hell and the grave, giving life to all who turn to Him. He said, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die (John 11:25,26). Jesus is the one who called Lazarus forth from the grave, showing that even before Calvary and the Resurrection He had this power over death. The greatness of the Lord is wonderful!
In speaking of Lucifer, Ezekiel said, Thine heart was lifted up (Ezekiel 28:17). Lucifer, I say again, had been made perfect in every way; but that seed of disobedience ruined his perfection, that little seed of saying No to God. You can say No to God one time too many, and suddenly that No turns into sin. I have made it a practice to never say No to God any time He calls on me, and I never say Impossible. I just say Yes, Lord. He will be talking to me, telling me what He wants done, and I say, Yes, God; yes, Lord. I find my responses rolling forth from a heart of love.
Lucifer in the Bottomless Pit
And the armies which were in heaven followed him [Jesus] upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean (Revelation 19:14). Those with glorified bodies will be in that army. If they are shot, it will have no effect. Neither can the horses be harmed; they are supernatural from Heaven going right through the air. Won’t that be a triumphant war!
Take heed to Lucifer’s fall. Remember, he once was perfect in love, obedience, all of his ways; but he let sin begin in his heart. What will happen to him? Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit (Isaiah 14:15). And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand. And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years, And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed a little season (Revelation 20:1-3). While Lucifer is in the bottomless pit, it will truly be a perfect age for the children of God. Even the pots in the Lord’s house will say “Holiness unto the Lord” in the Perfect Age. Those who won’t follow Jesus at that time will not be able to put out any hate signs, filthy literature, or speak unclean words. Their wickedness will have to be held in. It would be a crime to speak any evil—it’s the Perfect Age. Although this time will be perfect for the children of God, it won’t be perfect for the sinners. Even with the light of God shining upon the earth, there will be people who shut themselves away in spiritual darkness.
In the Perfect Age, the climate will be perfect, free from annoying insects. The nature of dangerous wild beasts will change, for it is the devil who causes them to be ferocious. When the devil goes into the bottomless pit, that savage spirit will be shut up with him. A drastic change will take place throughout the earth, even among the animals—another proof that the devil is the source of sin.
You needn’t worry if you are on the Lord’s side. Stay with Him. In that Perfect Age His people will be perfect, too. Those who have been raptured will come back in glorified bodies for the great honeymoon with the Lord for a thousand years.
Questions and Answers
Why will the devil be loosed after being imprisoned a thousand years in the bottomless pit? After we reign a thousand years, then why that old devil again? Lucifer’s being loosed has nothing to do with those who are walking with Jesus. It has to do with purging the earth of all who love sin. The sheep nations (the nations that supported the Jews, although not necessarily followed Jesus) will have gone through the Perfect Age—all who have survived the Tribulation Period—but they won’t all surrender to or worship the Lord.
The unsaved among the nations could find the Lord, accept the Lord at this special time; but when the devil comes out of the pit, those who don’t want Jesus will turn away from Him and line up with the devil, sealing their doom. They will have seen Jesus, watched His works for a thousand years, and yet resented Him and His people.
Nations will be gathered together with an opportunity to bow down to Jesus Christ or to bow to the devil. When the devil cries to the ungodly, Com over here! We’re going to take over! You’ve been through a lot, but all these thousand years I’ve been in the pit, I’ve been planning. I have a foolproof scheme to dethrone God, make quick work out of this society. We’ll take over, satisfy every lust of the flesh and have a great time. As people flock to him, the Lord will simply call fire down from Heaven to destroy every last one of them. No mercy. The moment they choose the devil, they blaspheme against the Holy Ghost; and God will be justified in calling down fire from Heaven. Thousands and thousands will be destroyed in an instant, and the devil cast into the lake of fire forever.
Evil Spirits
Are you so tired of the devil that you would like to wring his neck? Well, better keep hands off him; just rebuke him in the name of Jesus. The Lord didn’t give man the authority to strangle him, but he did give us the authority to put him to flight through the blood of Jesus and the power in His name.
Where did disembodied spirits, demons, originally come from? They are fallen angels. The devil also has been able to create other demonic spirits, leeches of the mind and soul. He is the one who created sickness and disease. He can create, but create nothing good. He can’t create a human life, for he has no life to give. He can’t even create a tree, grass, anything of life whatsoever. Everything he creates is death.
What is the meaning of an evil spirit from the Lord? An evil spirit came against King Saul: an evil spirit from the LORD…an evil spirit from God (I Samuel 16:14,15,23; 18:10). King Saul had a reprobate mind, and the Lord turned him over to the devil. The Lord can send evil spirits of destruction to people. When the Lord says Move! they must move. Demons have to obey God. They had to obey Jesus when He was here. King Saul had failed God and disobeyed Him again and again, claiming all the while that he was doing the whole will of God. He had whatever he needed to be a godly leader, but he became lifted up, spit in the eye of God one time too many. The Lord allowed a spirit of madness to come upon him. God didn’t have that devil with him in Heaven; he sent that spirit, allowed that spirit to go to Saul.
Proving that evil spirits are not God’s, David played the songs of the Lord—the Word of God going forth in music—and the devils had to back away. That was the only way Saul could find peace for a time. David played and played, but the day came when Saul sought to kill David, and David fled. Finally Saul committed suicide. When you detour from God’s righteousness, you are in the pathway of God’s wrath. With the whole mind leeched by the devil, taken over by him, you can go insane.
Why Does God Allow Persecution?
When a sinner repents and is forgiven, why does God allow persecution by the devil? Why did God allow the devil to persecute Jesus Christ? You are a person of choice. After you become saved, you still are free to serve God or to go back to the devil. You have to prove yourself, and how you handle persecutions is a great proving ground. God allowed Jesus to be persecuted so He, as our example, could show us how to be victorious. The Lord gives you an opportunity to go on with Him, and He gives you all the power you need to serve Him, all the love you need. Will you make a fit subject for Heaven? The Lord is very careful about His Heaven. He had war in Heaven one time when Lucifer and a third of the angels were cast out, and He doesn’t want anything there again that would be against His Spirit. You will not enter Heaven unless you have proven yourself a fit citizen for that holy place. You are on proving ground.
Some people thought they had salvation until they were tested, and then they found they didn’t. The devil came around, and they did whatever the devil wanted them to do. But if you are really saved, your soul has been purged; and the testing times help purge your mind. Not everyone takes on the mind of Christ the moment he or she is saved, although it is offered to all who are born again. It takes people a period of time before they take on the mind of Christ. I don’t mean they sin after they are saved—God doesn’t excuse sin—but that they must learn to think like Jesus.
Why Didn’t God Destroy Adam?
When Adam first sinned against God, why didn’t God end sin, start a new race of people and destroy the devil and his workers? When God created Adam, the first living soul, He meant for that soul to live forever. Adam became a living soul with the life of God in him. God gave him God-life. God will not destroy the body with no consideration for the soul at stake, a soul that came from the breath of God and will live forever either in Heaven or hell. Adam would never have been sick, never have had an ache or pain; he would have been young and healthy today after six thousand years had he not sinned—and it would have been the same for Eve.
Use the knowledge that God has given about Himself to understand Him more. God did wipe out other life on Earth before the creation of Adam and Eve. The time between the first verse of Genesis when the earth was created and second verse where the earth is without form and void is possibly millions of years. Bones of cave men have been found, but they were men without souls; and because they had no souls, they had no eternal life. They were like any animal. Research has found in examining the skulls of prehistoric man that they had but a small capacity for the brain. Never has another civilization fallen from grace but ours. If so, Jesus would have had to have died for their redemption, for the Bible tells us that there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved (Acts 4:12). That holds true for all human beings with souls. The Gospel applies to all; it’s God’s plan of redemption, His only plan.
The physical body takes on death because it is of the earth and therefore not eternal. God didn’t make the body out of part of Himself. If He had, it—like the soul—could never die; the soul will exist eternally in either Heaven or hell. When you become and stay a part of God, you can’t die. Partaking of His divinity, becoming born again, means you will live with the Lord forever as long as you keep that divinity working in you here on Earth. Understand the way, the greatness of God.
The Fire That Never Will Be Quenched
What are hell and its devils like? Hell is a place of destruction and torment, and its devils an extension of Lucifer himself, beings punished severely if they fail to carry out his wishes. Jesus said, Hell,…the fire that never shall be quenched: Where their worm [the soul] dieth not, and the fire is not quenched (Mark 9:45,46). Jesus spoke of the rich man who died, and in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom. And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame (Luke 16:23,24). Those with blinded spiritual eyes declare there is no burning hell. They feel free to make that claim because they don’t have a Savior called Jesus. Every real born-again person, saith the Lord, born of the Spirit of God, believes there is an eternal burning hell because they believe what Jesus said. I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me (John 14:6). Jesus is truth, life. If you don’t believe in an eternal place of punishment called hell, the lake of fire, you don’t believe the truth. You can’t go to Heaven without walking and living in the truth.
Power over the Devil
How much power and influence can Satan have over a child of God? As much as he is allowed. You have the privilege of saying No to the devil and the No is final. The Bible says if you resist the devil he will run from you. Resist him with the Word of God. Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you (James 4:7). Of course, if you spread a banquet for him, he’ll come around. If you open your door to him instead of to Jesus, the devil will be right there.
Can the devil appear to us any time he wants? He can come, but you have the power through the blood of Jesus to put him to flight. He can’t appear any time he wants because God won’t allow him. The Bible tells us that God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it (I Corinthians 10:13). The Lord tells the devil to move, and he has to move. He often keeps the devil from us; if not, many of God’s little lambs would have been goats long ago. But we have Jesus; He’s our captain doing battle for us along with the Holy Ghost.
Satan’s Counterfeits
Why does God allow Satan to perform counterfeit visions, to allow people to think they are seeing Jesus or one of His manifestations? Adam, remember, as head of the whole human race, delivered mankind into the hands of Satan. As long as mankind remains in a world ruled by Satan, he will try to deceive in every way he can. But God has provided protection through the blood of His precious Son Jesus to all who yield wholly to Him. The Lord tells you to take everything to His Word. Any visions you may have must be able to stand the word test. If you don’t use the knowledge in the Word of God, you open yourself up to the devil’s deceit. The Lord has told you that the devil is the arch deceiver, a liar and the father of lies. He steals; he has come to rob you, but you do not have to allow it, for you have protection in the Word of God and the blood of the Lamb.
The devil sees every vision God gives a child of God, and he has fooled many by counterfeiting God’s visions. God, however, won’t allow him to counterfeit any vision completely. He can’t do it. The devil could give you a vision that may be close to the real vision, but something will be out of place; one or more things will be changed. God will never allow the devil to duplicate one of His visions one hundred percent.
Any vision you have must be checked thoroughly. Examine everything in the vision; it all is important. If drapery, a window, are in the vision, observe them. Is a picture on the wall? Examine it, every detail. A chair? Note the style and design of the material. Look carefully at the carpet; study every detail in the vision so you won’t forget. The Holy Spirit will help you remember. If the vision is from God, you will meet it one day in living reality.
I study the visions of the Lord all I can during the time He keeps that vision before me. I’ve studied visions of angels and those of demonic spirits. I then wait for what I saw in the vision to take place in reality. The Lord said if you wait, the vision will be fulfilled if it is from God.
Take any supernatural manifestation to the Word of God and wait for the Holy Spirit to verify that it came from God. Run to God with it. No discrepancies will be found in a vision from God when it is fulfilled. If the vision is not fulfilled in every detail, God didn’t give it. And if thou say in thine heart, How shall we know the word which the LORD hath not spoken? When a prophet speaketh in the name of the LORD, if the thing follow not, nor come to pass, that is the thing which the LORD hath not spoken (Deuteronomy 18:21,22).
A dream is not a vision. If I dream something, I dismiss it unless God confirms that the dream is from Him when I’m wide awake. A person could go to bed with a full stomach and dream almost anything. The Lord has used dreams with His people in the past, but He has always confirmed the dreams when they were awake.
Books that interpret dreams are meaningless. We had fun with them when we were children, but none were true. Someone thought he had enemies because he dreamed of a snake. If you are a child of God, you have enemies no matter what you dream.
Does the devil perform miracles? The devil, I say again, can’t give life, but he will do such things as call fire down from Heaven through the Antispirit in the Tribulation Period. Certain kinds of miracles the devil can perform on the elements, but he cannot heal. Healing is giving life. Satan has counterfeited healing, caused people to tell lies and fake miracles. The devil is the one who afflicts, but he can withdraw his afflictions and let a person think he is healed.
Psychic healing is not real healing, but a product of devil possession. The devil is all death. He cannot, I say again, heal.
The devil does not pay me a lot of visits to manifest himself as a person, but when the Lord came to me and said I would have to surrender my wife Angel, the devil stood in the shadow of the room. The Lord said that Angel was not my source of power; He was. He was preparing me for her death. It was the only time the Lord had ever visited me and the devil was there, too. Standing as tall as a man, dressed in black, black, the devil had no light about him. I was amazed that the devil was there. That was many years ago, but recently as I was preparing a message for the people. Suddenly the devil was right at my shoulder by my writing desk, talking to me. I was shocked. I had written down that the devil can’t give healing. Healing is giving life and the devil is death. The devil sneered, “Who is going to believe it?” I said, “I rebuke you, Satan, in the name of Jesus! The sincere in heart, the Bride, will believe!” The power of God fell on me, the Spirit of God filled the room and God covered me from head to toe. The Holy Ghost took me over; when I looked around, no devil was there. He didn’t manifest himself again. The Lord had walloped him good. The devil is shaken over these messages.
We have power over the devil, and we must know we have it in the greatness of God. And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever (Revelation 20:10). That is the fate of Satan.
Understand the Mysteries of God
Two supernatural powers are at work in the world, and God wants you to understand them. It took me a long time to understand about Lucifer and his demons, how they operate undercover to deceive men, women, boys and girls. In the ‘sixties the young people went into his kingdom through drugs, and their parents couldn’t understand them. I understood them; that’s the reason I could help so many. When they began to tell me what they saw, I knew what it was because I’ve seen demons since the Lord taught me the discerning of spirits. The young people would tell me that they heard the devil talk. I believed them, for he does talk. When he takes over minds, I know what he can do.
Learn the mysteries of God, and then you will never accuse God, never blame Him for anything bad but give Him credit for good. You will know with all of your heart that God is all love. You don’t have to understand all about God in order to trust Him.
The Way of the Lord Is Perfect
When the Lord took my darling Angel I knew it was His divine will. Although He had told me He was going to take her, I couldn’t believe it. It didn’t seem real to me. I didn’t face the fact. She had been with me for so many years. Surely, I thought, we would be together until the Rapture. The Lord came to me again to let me know He was going to take her. Years earlier He had tried to tell me in the divine visitation that she wouldn’t always be with me on the journey, on this divine mission; but I hadn’t understood what He was saying.
When the Lord took her, I didn’t want to talk to anyone, see anyone. The moon didn’t need to shine, or the stars. Why should they? Why should there be another day? All was gone from the earth as far as I was concerned. But I told God a few days after she was gone, “God, I’m not mad at you for taking Angel. I just haven’t felt like talking to anyone. I hope you understand.” For the first time I couldn’t pray, couldn’t talk to God. It was frightening. Then one day I opened Angel’s Bible, the Bible she had slept with so many, many nights. I had said nothing ever really came between Angel and me except the Word of God. Sometimes I would wake at night and there it would be. She would have the Bible on the other side of the bed to start with, but as she turned over without even waking she often reached for her Bible and moved it over with her. I opened that Bible. She had left a message written inside: The way of the Lord is perfect. You’ll never know what that did to me. She was shouting it back from Heaven, it seemed. Honey, the way of the Lord is perfect! The way of the Lord is perfect! So through my tears I cry, The way of the Lord is perfect! I thank God for His perfect ways.
The Sinners’ Prayer
If you do not know the Lord, pray the sinners’ prayer with me now. Oh, God, I’m lost. I’m so sorry I sinned against you. I don’t want to die in my sins. I believe your truth. I know there is a tormenting hell awaiting the wicked. But I know, Jesus, you died for me, and I will live for you. I believe the blood of Jesus washes away all of my sins. Come on into my heart Jesus! Come on in. If you meant that prayer, He has come. Read your Bible; live in the Word of God. Fast, pray. Keep your hand in the nail-riven hand, and one day Heaven will all be yours.
The Lord Is the Healer
You who are sick and afflicted, that sickness didn’t come from God. It came from the enemy, the devil. The Lord is the healer, the life-giver. You can be healed of that heart trouble. Cancer melts before the presence of God. Disabled minds come to normal. Again and again the minds of little handicapped ones have been re-created. You who are a hopeless cripple: Many like you have been delivered when I prayed. Lord, here they are, multitudes of sick and afflicted. The enemy has afflicted so many. He hates humanity, but God, you love us. You sent your Son to destroy the works of the devil, and He is still destroying sickness night and day, as well as destroying other works of Lucifer. Lord, from your supernatural gifts of healing and your supernatural gift of miracles it comes in the name of your Son Jesus. Heal, heal in the holy mighty name of the Lord!
Let that power work within you, let that power get you well. If you will yield to it, it will get you well. God’s power healed me when I was at the edge of the grave, dying at the age of twenty-three. The years have passed by, and I today have wonderful health in the Lord, more strength than I had growing up. That has to be God. What the Lord has done for me He can do for you. Sickness, disease, death come from the devil; but Jesus came to defeat him. Lucifer, through the blood of Jesus is a defeated foe. Lucifer is the source of death; Jesus is the source of life.
