In this last hour, we are living on borrowed time; and the Word of God proves that. We can see the end-time signs being fulfilled all around us, so we know the coming of the Lord is nigh. The Bride of Christ should already have been in Heaven, but there have not been enough people with the power of God in them to evangelize the world and give everybody a chance to accept Christ. That is why God is giving us this borrowed time to use to bring in the harvest of lost souls.

This borrowed time can be compared to the seven days of grace God gave to the people in Noah’s day. The ark was finished, and all the people and the animals were onboard; but God gave all those outside the ark seven days of grace. He told Noah, For yet seven days, and I will cause it to rain upon the earth forty days and forty nights; and every living substance that I have made will I destroy from off the face of the earth (Genesis 7:4). God left the door open so that those who wanted to could enter the ark, but they just mocked and made fun of Noah and his family like they had been doing for many years. And it came to pass after seven days, that the waters of the flood were upon the earth…and the LORD shut him in (Genesis 7:10,16). Noah could not close the ark door; the grace hand of God had to do it.

God’s Great Grace

No one can say that God was not longsuffering for the sake of souls because He waited 120 years for the ark to be built, and only eight souls were saved. The longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a-preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water (I Peter 3:20). No person could ever have that kind of patience; only God could have waited like that.

The people on Earth were so evil that God decided to destroy them all; but through His grace, He saw Noah. But Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD (Genesis 6:8). Those who have been saved have found God’s grace, too; and His grace is sufficient for us. My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness (II Corinthians 12:9).

Grace is a favor rendered by someone who does not need to do so, and God did not have to give those seven days of grace; but He did. He gave them mercy through His love; and in that sense, those days were borrowed time.

Why is God now giving us borrowed time?—because the Bible says, Even so it is not the will of your Father which is in heaven, that one of these little ones should perish (Matthew 18:14). The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance (II Peter 3:9). Children of God have been called to drop whatever they are doing to help win the lost at any cost, and we have to move fast.

The door of the Lord is now open to all people, and we are living in those last seven days of grace. That door will close with the Bride being taken out; and hysterical people will be screaming like they were at the ark door when the rains came, and they knew they were going to drown. They pleaded for Noah to open the door, but God had closed it; and Noah could not open it.

Hezekiah Received Borrowed Time

“Borrow” means to obtain or receive something on loan and to use it as your own with the intention of returning it to its rightful owner. If you have any conscience at all, you will use what you have received carefully and responsibly so it can be returned to its owner in the same shape that you received it in.

This borrowed time we are living in is not really ours to use as we please; God is lending it to us because He loves souls, so you must feel an urgency to use it to its fullest potential. God’s time is valuable, and He is being so gracious to lend it to us; so we cannot use it for things that do not profit His Kingdom. We cannot spend excessive amounts of time with others, with pleasures and with the cares of this life.

The prophet Isaiah was told to tell King Hezekiah, Thus saith the LORD, Set thine house in order: for thou shalt die, and not live. Then Hezekiah turned his face toward the wall, and prayed unto the LORD, And said, Remember now, O LORD, I beseech thee, how I have walked before thee in truth and with a perfect heart, and have done that which is good in thy sight. And Hezekiah wept sore (Isaiah 38:1-3).

God did not disagree with Hezekiah, so He gave him borrowed time. Then came the word of the LORD to Isaiah, saying, Go, and say to Hezekiah, Thus saith the LORD, the God of David thy father, I have heard thy prayer, I have seen thy tears: behold, I will add unto thy days fifteen years (Isaiah 38:4,5). Every minute of that was borrowed time because God had originally said that Hezekiah’s time was up.

God Will Supply

God has planned the time that each one of us has, and some of our time may have already been used up if we had not been living right before Him. Therefore, you must use your borrowed time wisely for God and for lost humanity, and then the Lord will be pleased.

Many people today can testify that the Lord has added to their years because He has healed them of cancer, heart trouble, lung trouble or some other deadly disease. They would not be alive today if the Lord had not had mercy on them and given them life.

Our time is about to run out; but if we will follow God’s instructions during this period of borrowed time, He will miraculously sustain us like He did the widow woman in Elisha’s day. She needed to pay a debt by a certain time or her two sons were going to be sold into slavery. And Elisha said unto her, What shall I do for thee? tell me, what hast thou in the house? And she said, Thine handmaid hath not anything in the house, save a pot of oil. Then he [Elisha] said, Go, borrow thee vessels abroad of all thy neighbours, even empty vessels; borrow not a few (II Kings 4:2,3). Imagine how many doubters must have watched her thinking that she had lost her mind. When God tells you to do something that is a bit extreme, people may think you are crazy when what you have really done is taken on the mind of Christ and used its good abilities.

Then Elisha told the woman, And when thou art come in, thou shalt shut the door upon thee and upon thy sons, and shalt pour out into all those vessels, and thou shalt set aside that which is full. So she went from him, and shut the door upon her and upon her sons, who brought the vessels to her; and she poured out. And it came to pass, when the vessels were full, that she said unto her son, Bring me yet a vessel. And he said unto her, There is not a vessel more. And the oil stayed (II King 4:4-6). I am sure the woman shouted and praised God when the oil did not run out. You have nothing to fear when you obey God; but when you fail to obey Him in perfection, you will have something to be afraid of.

Then she [the widow woman] came and told the man of God [what had happened]. And he said, Go, sell the oil, and pay thy debt, and live thou and thy children of the rest (II Kings 4:7). The woman had obeyed God, and He blessed her and her sons greatly. The oil mentioned in this story is a type of the oil of the Holy Spirit; so if you have the oil of the Spirit in your life today, your needs will be supplied, too.

The Iron Did Swim

God is the master of all of our time when we use it for Him and live in His divine will. Then if we are using our borrowed time wisely and something happens that is beyond our control, God will perform a miracle so His work will not cease; and there is an example in the Bible which proves that. And the sons of the prophets said unto Elisha, Behold now, the place where we dwell with thee is too strait for us (II Kings 6:1). The Word “strait” here means that the sons of the prophets needed more room; their place was too crowded. Let us go, we pray thee, unto Jordan, and take thence every man a beam, and let us make us a place there, where we may dwell. And he answered, Go ye (II Kings 6:2).

Elisha went along with them, and when they came to Jordan, they cut down wood [trees]. But as one was felling a beam, the axe head fell into the water: and he cried, and said, Alas, master! for it was borrowed. And the man of God said, Where fell it? And he shewed him the place. And he cut down a stick, and cast it in thither; and the iron did swim (II Kings 6:4-6).

We all know that iron does not float; so without the power of God, this never would have happened. It was not the man’s fault that the ax head broke, and the men were working hard when it happened; so God performed a miracle. When we are working hand in hand with God, He will look out for us, too.

The Bible says, The borrower is servant to the lender (Proverbs 22:7). Since God is lending us time, we must be His faithful servants and redeem it for Him. See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, Redeeming the time, because the days are evil (Ephesians 5:15,16). When you are redeeming God’s time, you are making the most of it. Then you will have wonderful works to show for it.

Walk in [God’s] wisdom toward them that are without, redeeming the time (Colossians 4:5). You cannot afford to be lazy; and if you are, you are just asking the devil to cause you to waste your borrowed time. Time has never been more valuable than it is now, and we must use it to build God’s Kingdom.

Jesus Gave His Time for Souls

We are not in Heaven today because we are needed here on Earth more, saith the Lord. Therefore, no matter how tired you are, you must give God your best.

One day, Christ was tired and hungry from His journey; and as He was sitting at Jacob’s well in Samaria, a sinful street woman came to draw water. Then cometh he [Jesus] to a city of Samaria, which is called Sychar, near to the parcel of ground that Jacob gave to his son Joseph. Now Jacob’s well was there. Jesus therefore, being wearied with his journey, sat thus on the well: and it was about the sixth hour. There cometh a woman of Samaria to draw water: Jesus saith unto her, Give me to drink. (For his disciples were gone away unto the city to buy meat.) Then saith the woman of Samaria unto him, How is it that thou, being a Jew, askest drink of me, which am a woman of Samaria? for the Jews have no dealings with the Samaritans. Jesus answered and said unto her, If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water (John 4:5-10).

Although Jesus was tired, He took time to talk to that Samaritan woman, not because He felt like it but because He loved her soul that would never die. Then after He had delivered her, she ran into the city crying, Come, see a man, which told me all things that ever I did: is not this the Christ? Then they went out of the city, and came unto him (John 4:29,30). The Lord’s message reached a whole city, but how many people would have died not knowing the Lord’s saving grace if Jesus had not taken time with that woman? Jesus was never too tired or discouraged to serve others, and He is our example.

Be Like Jesus

Jesus knew He had only a limited amount of time here on Earth, so He didn’t waste it; and that is why He said, I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work (John 9:4). Jesus came to be a servant to all, and He did not expect to have it easy. He knew that people would either accept Him or reject Him. Study every step Jesus made until you know you can make those same steps in harmony with Him each minute that you have left here on Earth.

Are you using this borrowed time to do all you can for Jesus? It is now countdown time, and there are not many days left until time will be no more for us. That is why we have to be careful with it and load it down with the greatness of God.

When you come to the end of each day, you should ask the Lord, “Did I do everything today that Jesus would have done? Did I touch every soul I could, and did I speak to them like Jesus would have? Did I take time with the lost, or did I hurry by them?” I seek to make good days for the Lord because I know we are to be just like Him. We are to be His feet, His eyes and His hands.

The Lord is looking for devout, consecrated, dedicated workers who are full of the Holy Ghost; and we must do the works that He calls us to do. The members of the bridal company are getting ready to take their flight, and we must finish up the Lord’s work before the night comes.

If you meet the Lord empty-handed, it means you have wasted your time here on Earth. Instead of working for Jesus, you worked for yourself or for others, for pleasures or for trying to get material things. You did not take time to tell people the story of Calvary or to help them get ready for Heaven.

Be Diligent with Your Time

Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is (Ephesians 5:17). The Lord wants you to understand and do His will, and He will look out for you as long as you stay in His will. For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name (Hebrews 6:10). You must consider time to be more valuable than anything but souls.

In that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister (Hebrews 6:10). You must minister not just to the lost but also to the saints of God so that they will have more strength, more courage and more of whatever it takes to make every second of their time count, too.

And we desire that every one of you do shew the same diligence to the full assurance of hope unto the end: That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises (Hebrews 6:11,12). There is a promise in the Bible to cover everything you need.

Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another; Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord (Romans 12:10,11). You must be diligent in using this borrowed time and not get sidetracked with anything that wastes God’s time; but to do that, you must have the grace of God abounding for you.

What takes up your time? What kinds of things do you read? Do you go to the places and entertainments of the world? How much time do you spend listening to gossip? I have lived like I was on borrowed time from the moment I was saved. I was a completely different person; my ambitions had changed, and I could not wait to get in my room each day and let God talk to me. I wanted to spend more and more time with Him.

You have to seek God with all of your heart. But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is [God], and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him (Hebrews 11:6). Many people waste too much precious time seeking other people’s advice.

Looking diligently lest any man fail of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and thereby many be defiled (Hebrews 12:15). You cannot let anything stay on your mind that is not unto edification or it will soon defile you. The Lord wants to bless you, but He can’t do that when you carry your troubles around. Jesus said, Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls (Matthew 11:28,29). Nevertheless, some of you still worry and have tremendous battles of the mind, but that is not God’s will for you to go on like that.

Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless (II Peter 3:14). That is the kind of person Jesus is coming for, and you have to be diligent and consistent in your walk with God to be ready.

Let Your Light Shine

The light of the body is the eye: therefore when thine eye is single, thy whole body also is full of light; but when thine eye is evil, thy body also is full of darkness (Luke 11:34). If you will keep your eyes single, your whole being will desire to make the best of the time God has given you; but just as the wicked did not take heed to the time they were given in Noah’s day, many are not taking heed today. They think God owes that time to them, and they are selfish and justify using it for themselves.

The wicked borroweth, and payeth not again: but the righteous sheweth mercy, and giveth (Psalm 37:21). The righteous give back to God for their borrowed time, and they receive good interest for using their time right.

Let your loins be girded about, and your lights burning (Luke 12:35). That means the whole you must be on fire for God. You must shine like a city on a hill so those people who want to find Calvary can see their way there. Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven (Matthew 5:14-16). The Lord told me that people all over the world are hungry for truth, but we must take it to them.

Jesus Is Our Example

You are very grateful when someone lets you borrow something that you need to get a job done; and in the same way, you must be thankful for this borrowed time. We do not have what we need within ourselves to get God’s job done, and that is why He let us borrow His Son. He allowed Jesus to come to this Earth as a human and show us how to live. For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps (I Peter 2:21). Jesus became our Savior. Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins (I John 4:10).

After Jesus was crucified and had ascended back to Heaven, God let Him return to Earth for forty days to teach the disciples about the Holy Ghost. Until the day in which he [Jesus] was taken up, after that he through the Holy Ghost had given commandments unto the apostles whom he had chosen: To whom also he shewed himself alive after his passion by many infallible proofs, being seen of them forty days, and speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God (Acts 1:2,3).

Then Jesus commanded the disciples to receive the Holy Ghost. And, being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, saith he, ye have heard of me. For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence (Acts 1:4,5). Jesus brought us all the divinity we need, and He showed us how to use it.

Jesus received the Holy Ghost before He started His Earth ministry. John the Baptist saw the Spirit come upon Him in the form of a dove; and he heard God say, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased (Matthew 3:17). The Lord then said that He would give the Holy Ghost to all those who would obey Him. And we are his witnesses of these things; and so is also the Holy Ghost, whom God hath given to them that obey him (Acts 5:32).

The Lord furnishes us all the wisdom, the knowledge and the grace we need through the Holy Ghost; and when you yield to the Spirit, He will lead you. That is why you must have the Holy Ghost baptism to be able to make the Rapture, and never let the devil deceive you into thinking that is not true. The Bible says, Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed (I Corinthians 15:51,52). That change can only take place according to the power of the Holy Ghost that works within us. Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us (Ephesians 3:20).

Receive the Holy Ghost

The first thing the Holy Ghost does when He baptizes a person is to speak in another tongue, and the person has nothing to do with it. And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance (Acts 2:4). As you praise the Lord with your whole heart, that praise will begin to fade out; and the Holy Ghost will begin to speak. Then He will take over completely and give you a fluent tongue, and you will delight in hearing Him speak through you.

Next to your salvation, receiving the Holy Ghost is the greatest experience of your entire life; but if you claim to be saved and will not seek the Holy Ghost, the Lord told me that you are not really saved. If you were, you would hunger and thirst for the righteousness of the Lord, and you would be drawn to the Spirit. I was starved to death for the Holy Ghost after I was saved, and I praised and sought the Lord for the Spirit night and day.

When you receive the Holy Spirit, you become a member of the Bride of Christ. Who is this that cometh up from the wilderness, leaning upon her beloved (Song of Solomon 8:5)? The Bride takes advantage of all that God has given to her, and she learns to lean on her Lord by embracing all that God has spoken in His Word.

Through the Word, the Lord gives us His faith, wisdom and strength. The Bride will draw from the well of the Word daily so that divine, living water will flow like rivers. He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water (John 7:38). The Lord will flow the waters of salvation into us; and then they will flow like mighty rivers of strength, love, faith, power, goodness and mercies to the people.

The Bride knows that she can do nothing without Jesus. I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing (John 15:5). She also knows that she is nothing without God’s love. Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity [love], I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal. And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing (I Corinthians 13:1,2).

We Are Armed

God has given us many tools to use to get His job done the right way, and one of His greatest tools is His Word. It is a light to our path. Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path (Psalm 119:105). It is a mirror. For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass [a mirror]: For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was (James 1:23,24).

The Word is a hammer. Is not my word like as a fire? saith the LORD; and like a hammer that breaketh the rock in pieces (Jeremiah 23:29)? It is a sword and a discerner. For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart (Hebrews 4:12). Use God’s Word to judge and discern things the right way because if you judge things based only on the outward appearance, you will miss the mark many times.

All the other tools God gives us are powerful and mighty, too; and they can pull down the strongholds of the devil. For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) (II Corinthians 10:3,4). We must be responsible people in this late hour and use God’s tools and weapons wisely and lovingly every minute of every day. The Bible tells us to be wise as serpents, and harmless as doves (Matthew 10:16).

The Lord has also given us His armor, and you must put it on each morning before you leave the house. Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the helmet of salvation [the mind of Christ], and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God (Ephesians 6:13-17). If you will use that shield of faith like you should, you can stop all the devil’s fiery darts.

We Are Children of God

We have to make every minute of this borrowed time count like Jesus did because He came to make us sons and daughters of God just like Him. But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons [or daughters] of God, even to them that believe on his name (John 1:12). Therefore, we must use our time in perfection to win souls like Jesus did.

Those who are in the family of God must be wide-awake in this last hour, but we cannot look at what the devil is doing; we have to look at what God is doing. Unhappiness is not a good testimony, but happiness takes away depression and despair. The Bride is about to be caught up to Heaven, so we should be the happiest people on Earth today.

I don’t let things get me down because I stay plugged into Heaven, and you can, too. Calvary gave us a direct line to Heaven through the born-again experience, and the Holy Ghost came to keep us plugged into divinity. We have it made through the power of the Holy Ghost and the blood of Jesus that stained the Old Rugged Cross.

You will never have Heaven’s happiness unless you separate from everything that is unlike God. Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you (II Corinthians 6:17). Have you separated completely from the world and given your heart to God? Do you miss church services when you could be there? What kind of company do you keep? You should not run around with people or even family members who do not live right because they will affect you. They will try to discredit your salvation and the power of God, so you cannot listen to them.

You must hear only what the Spirit is saying. In the second and third chapters of Revelation, the Lord said seven different times, He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith (Revelation 2:7,11,17,29; 3:6,13,22). When the Spirit is speaking, He is saying something important; but if you fail to listen to what He is saying, you will listen to people and the devil. Then the devil will keep your mind in such confusion that the Spirit will not be able to give you what Heaven wants you to know, and that is the only way you can grow in the Lord.

Examine Yourself

The Bible says, Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates (II Corinthians 13:5)? The Lord wants you to examine yourself with these questions: What are you doing for God each day, and how are you using His precious time? Are you a Christian who is always planning to do something but never gets around to it? Do you have a tongue of divine love, grace, tenderness, kindness and gentleness? Do you have a tongue of the fire of the Holy Ghost? If the Spirit lives on the inside of you, you will not grumble or complain.

Are you God’s property? The Bible says you are not your own. What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s (I Corinthians 6:19,20).

You have to be conscious that you are God’s property; and then when the devil starts to afflict you, you can let him know that he has no right to do so because you belong to God. Use the divine blood on him, and he will run. The blood is like liquid fire that burns him just like physical fire can burn your skin.

When you know you are not your own, you will present yourself as a living sacrifice to God. I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service (Romans 12:1). We must present ourselves holy before the Lord every day.

Are you really aware of the hour you live in? If not, you must ask the Lord to anoint you to study it in His Word because the Lord is getting the Bride ready to take her flight. That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish (Ephesians 5:27). No one knows exactly when this borrowed time will end, so we need to be ready at all times for our Groom to come and take us home. I don’t want to know when Jesus is coming because I want to work for the Lord thinking that each minute could be my last one.

And ye yourselves like unto men that wait for their lord, when he will return from the wedding; that when he cometh and knocketh, they may open unto him immediately (Luke 12:36). You have to be ready and waiting for Jesus to come because there is only one flight out, and you cannot be consumed with things that don’t count for God. Blessed are those servants, whom the lord when he cometh shall find watching: verily I say unto you, that he shall gird himself, and make them to sit down to meat, and will come forth and serve them (Luke 12:37). Jesus said He is coming for those who are watching for Him.

Trust in the Lord

In this last hour of borrowed time, we must live by faith. The just shall live by faith (Romans 1:17). We must also contend for the faith that the Bible saints had. Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints (Jude 1:3).

Job was one who had that faith; and he said, When he [Satan] hath tried me, I shall come forth as gold (Job 23:10). Behold, my witness is in heaven, and my record is on high (Job 16:19). We must all know God as Job knew Him and know that God will do whatever He says He will. For I am the LORD: I will speak, and the word that I shall speak shall come to pass (Ezekiel 12:25). The Lord said it; I believe it, and that settles it, and you should feel the same way. There is nothing too hard for God. Behold, I am the LORD, the God of all flesh: is there anything too hard for me (Jeremiah 32:27)?

Through faith, the Lord wants to make people whole today just as Jesus did when He was on Earth. He never healed people of just one thing when they needed other things as well; He healed them all over. Neither did He save people of just one sin; He saved them of every sin. We must have the same divine compassion for others that Jesus had when He went to the whipping post and on to Calvary, but He does not want us to waste this borrowed time praying for those who don’t want help because God doesn’t believe in wasted prayer. If people don’t care that they have rejected God and the Holy Ghost, then God doesn’t care either.

How Do You Use Time?

Many Christians waste so much time that they could be using for the glory of God and to pray for things that matter. There is much to be done and so many people who need help throughout the whole Earth, so it is urgent that you use the time the Lord gives you to do His work in this final hour.

The Lord is the only one who can give time, and it is up to you how much of it you give back to Him. He gave it to you on purpose, but you are a free moral agent; so it is up to you to decide how you will use your time. He cannot force you to use one moment of it for Him.

When Jesus came to Earth, He came under subjection to every second of Earth’s time and to the arrogance and persecution of audacious men. He suffered so much, and yet He made time for people. How much time do you give to the Lord and to help people? Jesus came on a divine mission; and He gave everything, not for Himself but for us.

We are to be on a divine mission, too; but have you ever refused to do what God wants you to? Jesus took time to come to Earth and to go all the way to Calvary to die for you, but some of you will not take time to live for Him.

Give Jesus a Chance

Nicodemus was a great teacher of the Law, but he didn’t know anything about Jesus or salvation. There was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews: The same came to Jesus by night, and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him. Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother’s womb, and be born? Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again. The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit (John 3:1-8).

Nicodemus went to Jesus at night because he did not want anyone else to know about it. However, when Jesus turned on the Gospel light for him, I am sure that Nicodemus left no longer caring how many people knew he had spent time with Jesus. But what if Nicodemus had not given that time to Jesus, and what if Jesus had not taken the time to teach him? Nicodemus never would have learned about the born-again experience, but Jesus always made the most of His time here on Earth.

If the woman with the issue of blood had not made the most of her time to get to Jesus, she would have died. A woman having an issue of blood twelve years, which had spent all her living upon physicians, neither could be healed of any, Came behind him [Jesus], and touched the border of his garment: and immediately her issue of blood stanched (Luke 8:43,44). That woman used her time to get to Jesus because she had heard and believed His message.

Wasting Time Is Dangerous

This borrowed time is more valuable than your money, your investments, your home, your car or anything else you may own; and when you waste it, you are wasting something very valuable to God. Then the problems you cause by doing that cannot be fixed with money.

Something that is a waste has no value; and when you look back on your life, how much of it has been wasted time? How many times have you come up lacking because you did not pray, fast and read the Word of God like you should have? Do you waste time reading worthless things that don’t feed your soul, give you life, or bless you and others? If the Lord would give you knowledge through the Holy Spirit to cross out every moment of your life that you have wasted, how much time would be left that you redeemed by serving the Lord, doing His wonderful works and obeying Him?

Only quality time for God counts; and when you face your life on the Day of Rewards, you will only be rewarded for the time you gave to the Lord and for the works you did for Him. The Lord gives you the time, the love, the strength, the knowledge, the wisdom and everything you need to work for Him; but you have to use it.

The rich, young ruler wasted so much of his time. There came one running, and kneeled to him [Jesus], and asked him, Good Master, what shall I do that I may inherit eternal life? And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God. Thou knowest the commandments, Do not commit adultery, Do not kill, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Defraud not, Honour thy father and mother. And he answered and said unto him, Master, all these have I observed from my youth. Then Jesus beholding him loved him, and said unto him, One thing thou lackest: go thy way, sell whatsoever thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, take up the cross, and follow me. And he was sad at that saying, and went away grieved: for he had great possessions (Mark 10:17-22).

That rich, young ruler evidently had time to make money, time for pleasure and time to satisfy every lust of the flesh; but he did not have time to do what Jesus told him to. Jesus gave him a chance to redeem his time and his soul, but the young ruler would not do it.

If you have no time for Jesus, He will not have time for you. When the death angel comes for you, you may beg for more time and spend a lot of money on the best doctors in the land; but they will not be able to save you when your time is up.

The Selfish, Rich Man

Jesus told of yet another rich man who only used his time for himself. There was a certain rich man, which was clothed in purple and fine linen, and fared sumptuously every day: And there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, which was laid at his gate, full of sores, And desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man’s table: moreover the dogs came and licked his sores (Luke 16:19-21). The rich man completely ignored the beggar at his gate who asked only for the crumbs that fell from the table. The rich man was selfish, and he had no time to serve even a crumb to the poor servant of God.

And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham’s bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried; And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom. And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame (Luke 16:22-24).

Lazarus had not wasted his time on Earth—he had spent it making everything right with God and doing the Lord’s will; so when he died, he lifted up his eyes in Paradise. However, it was a different story for the rich man because he had given no time to God or made any preparations for his soul. He had devoted all of his time to making money and to showing off the material things of life. People may have thought the rich man was well-off, but he was really a pitiful creature who died without God and without hope.

In hell, the rich man no longer had the opportunity to tell his five brothers about God; so he cried to father Abraham, I pray thee therefore, father, that thou wouldest send him [Lazarus] to my father’s house: For I have five brethren; that he may testify unto them, lest they also come into this place of torment. Abraham saith unto him, They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them. And he said, Nay, father Abraham: but if one went unto them from the dead, they will repent. And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead (Luke 16:27-31). Abraham told the man that if his brothers would not listen to the advice of Moses and the prophets, they would not listen to someone coming back from the dead either.

In hell, the rich man finally had time to think about his five brothers, and he wanted to warn them; but he should have taken time to consider the penalty for sin while he was still on Earth. There is no way to redeem time once you are in hell.

So many people treasure their money, but they don’t treasure time. Think of the many millionaires who have died and left everything behind. They spent their lives making money, but they did not give back to the Lord or invest in building His Kingdom. They could have received many divine benefits, and all of Heaven could have been theirs if they had only surrendered; but they would not humble themselves before the Lord.

Hell’s Unquenchable Fire

Some people claim there is no flame in hell, but the Lord said there was; and the rich man found that was true. Jesus taught the disciples, If thy hand offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter into life maimed, than having two hands to go into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched: Where their worm [their soul] dieth not, and the fire is not quenched. And if thy foot offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter halt into life, than having two feet to be cast into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched: Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched (Mark 9:43-46). Anyone who denies hellfire is denying the words of Jesus no matter how much they preach, testify and claim to believe the Bible.

If all God’s people had given time to the Lord like the Early Church Christians did and had warned others of eternity without God, they would have rescued many who are screaming in hell today. Many people refuse to attend a church where the minister preaches that there is a literal, burning hell awaiting the disobedient and the unbelieving. They don’t want to hear it; and they reject the truth even though Jesus said, Ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free (John 8:32).

Time Is Running Out

The night is coming, Child of God; and soon, you will not be able to do any more work for the Lord. Never make Him promises and then neglect to fulfill them. He has given His children time to take this Gospel to the world in this final hour, and we must fulfill our mission. There is always work to be done, and there are souls all over the world needing people to pray for them who really care and can touch God for them.

Many people have wasted God’s holy time, and they are wasting their lives. They are restless, dissatisfied and seeking happiness; but they cannot find it because they will not take the time to seek it where it can be found. They have time to worry and be depressed but no time to rejoice in the Lord and praise Him for their blessings. They have had opportunities to find the Lord, but they have not taken the time to do that; and they go on to use their time for whatever they want to. You can give excuses, too; but you will lose your soul.

God in His goodness and mercy has given you this borrowed time, but you do not know whether or not you will face another new day. Many people who were on Earth yesterday suddenly found that their time did not stretch through the night, and they went into eternity either prepared or unprepared. Today is the day of salvation, but you must take time for it. Behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation (II Corinthians 6:2).

How much time do you have left today? You may worry about your money running out, but it will be much worse when your time runs out. The Bible says, The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God (Psalm 9:17). No matter what people think about you or how successful you are in the eyes of the world, you are wasting your time when you leave God out of your life. Just when you think you are getting close to the mountain peak, your time may run out; and there will be no Heaven for you to go to.

We are coming to the end of our civilization, and the end-time signs are everywhere; so what are you doing with the time you have left? If you are unsaved, are you going to use your time to find God? You have to hurry because when darkness falls, you will no longer be able to find Calvary.

Make Time for Your Soul

How much time have you given to getting your soul ready for eternity? Sinners use their time for pleasure and to satisfy every lust of the flesh, but they make no time to let Jesus into their hearts; and one day, the Lord will have no more time for them.

You may use many hours to clothe, feed and shelter yourself; but all of that will be meaningless when your body goes back to the dust of the Earth. Your soul is the inner man who cannot die; and if your soul dies without God, it will exist in a living death in hell for eternity. There is no escape from that place of eternal damnation once you are there. The Lord will no longer care about you, and He will seal you off and never remember you again.

Sinner, you must consider the short time you have left to get right with God because one of these days, the Lord is going to declare that time will be no more; and then eternity will start for each person. And the angel which I saw stand upon the sea and upon the earth lifted up his hand to heaven, And sware by him that liveth forever and ever, who created heaven, and the things that therein are, and the earth, and the things that therein are, and the sea, and the things which are therein, that there should be time no longer (Revelation 10:5,6).

Where will you be when your time is finished? Where will you spend eternity? You who are unsaved or backslidden have already wasted too much time, and it is only through the grace of God that you have this chance right now to live forever.

The grace of God is reaching for you today, and the Lord wants you to live in Heaven with Him. Will you waste the last opportunity you may ever have? Say the sinners’ prayer with me. Oh, God, save my soul. I am so sorry that I sinned against you, but I have come home. I am going to serve you, Lord, for the rest of my life. I believe that the blood of Jesus washes away all of my sins. Come into my heart, Jesus! Come on in! If you meant that prayer, Jesus has come; and you can say, Hallelujah! Jesus is mine.

Now that you have given your life to the Lord, you must take time to study the Word of God, to talk to Him in prayer and to fast. Take time to live holy and righteous in this present world; and one day, Heaven will be yours.

There Is Time for a Miracle

If you are sick and afflicted, you can have a miracle. Untold multitudes have been healed through this Jesus ministry, but I am not the healer; Jesus is the healer, and I am agreeing with you for your miracle. Lord, I come with your supernatural gifts. Bless and heal the people because they need good health so they can work for you. I come with your divine blood to lay a healing hand on the sick and afflicted all over the world. Heal! in the name of Jesus. Heal! in the blood name of Jesus, I pray.

Feel that power going into you and believe with me that you will get well. Then write or email and tell me about it, and I will rejoice with you. God be with you and may Heaven be yours one day.

Bless the LORD, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name (Psalm 103:1).
