Is Jesus King in your life, in your heart? Where is he that is born King of the Jews (Matthew 2:2)? Jesus was not only born to be King of the Jews, but also King of the human race, King of all people. What love He brings to all His subjects, to everyone who chooses to be a part of His Kingdom!

All Things Were Made by Him

This King helped make the first man and woman. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made (John 1:3). Divinity had been King in man’s heart, in man’s life in the Garden of Eden.

What a beautiful kingdom on Earth for man! Everything was perfect, not a care troubled Adam and Eve before the fall. They didn’t earn their bread by the sweat of the brow; there were no heartaches, sicknesses or diseases. What a Kingdom! And the Lord was King. But somehow man lost sight of the value of that King and left Him behind. Man sold out to the archenemy of God, the devil. Sold out. All was lost, delivered into the hands of the devil. The beautiful kingdom on Earth for man was shut down and man driven out. No longer would God come down and walk in the cool of the day with man in that wonderful place.

A Man of Sorrows

Thousands of years would pass before the King would appear on Earth in human form, this wonderful King. He would come in a way the world would not accept. Although the prophets foretold His coming, yearned for it, when He came, His own rejected Him. He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief (Isaiah 53:3).

The Government Shall Be upon His Shoulder

The prophets looking down through the telescope of time saw with the eyes of God the coming of the Messiah. They longed for that time. Isaiah the prophet wrote, For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this (Isaiah 9:6,7). What a difference between King Jesus and the kings of the earth!

Where Is He?

A King is born. King…there He is; shepherds bow before Him, the baby Jesus. About two years after His birth the wise men came searching. Where is he that is born King of the Jews? for we have seen his star in the east, and are come to worship him (Matthew 2:2).

Where is He born King of the Jews? Wicked Herod was shaken. He wanted people to worship him, Herod, bow to his will, carry out all of his commands. Herod feared a king who might usurp his authority in the future. Where was this King of the Jews supposed to have been born? Herod gathered the chief priests and scribes together and demanded they tell him. And they said unto him, In Bethlehem of Judaea: for thus it is written by the prophet, And thou Bethlehem, in the land of Juda, art not the least among the princes of Juda: for out of thee shall come a Governor that shall rule my people Israel (Matthew 2:5,6).

Herod told the wise men to find the Christ, to let him know where He was so he could worship Him, too. Diligently Herod asked the wise men when the star had appeared. Learning the Child might be as old as two, Herod ordered all the babies two years old and under killed, trying to destroy the baby Jesus, the King. Herod, when he saw that he was mocked of the wise men, was exceeding wroth, and sent forth, and slew all the children that were in Bethlehem, and in all the coasts thereof, from two years old and under, according to the time which he had diligently inquired of the wise men (Matthew 2:16).

A Child Astonished the Learned Men

King Jesus, the boy King, having escaped Herod’s slaughter, is now twelve years old, sitting in the midst of the doctors, both hearing them, and asking them questions. And all that heard him were astonished at his understanding and answers (Luke 2:46,47). Not educated in the school of mankind, yet Jesus had all the answers. Yes, He was King, master of every situation even as a boy.

John Baptized a King

What a King! See Him, grown and about to begin His ministry on Earth, by the water where John was baptizing. Crowds had come. One would think John would be wearing a fine garment with threads of gold to be baptizing a king. But that prophet of God, John the Baptist, wore raiment of camel’s hair and a leather girdle about his waist. John was a voice crying in the wilderness: Make straight the way of the Lord. I baptize with water: but there standeth one among you, whom ye know not; He it is, who coming after me is preferred before me, whose shoe’s latchet I am not worthy to unloose (John 1:23,26,27). Make your crooked paths straight!

Only the humble, the lowly, the meek heeded. The rest weren’t ready for the message of I–Am, for the reign of the King. The common people, the oppressed, depressed heard John gladly. They were slaves, tormented, hungry. They needed, longed for deliverance. With yearning hearts they had waited for the Messiah. One day He will come!

Now the voice in the wilderness was ringing forth: Prepare ye the way of the Lord! He shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire: Whose fan is in his hand, and he will throughly purge his floor, and gather his wheat into the garner; but he will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire (Matthew 3:11,12). Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world (John 1:29). Lamb, King, Deliverer, Savior, Baptizer in the Holy Ghost—King Jesus. Never before or since has there been a king with such tender care and compassion, never a king to deliver the devil possessed.

A King of Authority and Mercy

Kings show great authority; a king is a male ruler of a nation or nations, supreme, absolute. Jesus was supreme, absolute with the truth. Had He brought justice, multitudes would have been destroyed; but He came with grace and forgiveness. King Jesus, a King of power and authority…. Many kings have come and gone, but there has never been a King of mercy like Jesus. He was born in lowly beginnings, and yet with Him He brought all the power of Heaven. His words could have been law, supreme authority; but they weren’t. Whatever He said should have been done, His every wish obeyed. His Word was Gospel, not law, the Gospel message for all mankind, a Gospel of love and peace and deliverance from all the powers of the devil. He didn’t make His Word law; He made it something greater: love, grace, peace, compassion.

Whosoever Will Can Join His Kingdom

Jesus didn’t take over the world and force them to obey Him; His Kingdom had to be made up of whosoever will. No one is forced to accept King Jesus. He could have made every human being bow to Him—or kill every one of them—if He willed to do it. But He is not that kind of King. He wants to be accepted because He is love, because the heart longs for Him, because the soul desires Him. He wants those to be with Him who want to be with Him, and that’s the only kind He wants. Those who will love and appreciate Him as King, who gladly bow to Him in perfect love, perfect trust and adoration are the ones He wants. What a mighty King He is! With outstretched arms of love He calls, Whosoever will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me (Mark 8:34). Come, come to me, the King who was not born in a palace!

A King Begging for Souls

The One who would be King over the universe came to serve, not to be served. He came to give love, love, love. His place in life seemed to be anything but the role of a King. He didn’t grow up among royalty. His humility fooled many; many despised and rejected Him. One with divine blood born in an ox stall—there never had been such blood on Earth before, blood from Heaven.

The foxes have holes, and the birds of the air have nests; but the Son of man hath not where to lay his head (Matthew 8:20). His life was out of place, and yet He was King. He became a beggar of souls, a King begging for the souls of men, women, boys and girls. It makes me want to weep—a King, yet servant to all.

Jesus amazed even His closest followers. Many times they were set back on their heels; they hardly knew what to think, what to believe.

To traitors, Jesus offered not amnesty but the unbelievable—to be made new, brand new. You can be born again, born free so sin will no longer have dominion over you. For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace (Romans 6:14). When you accept this King into your heart you will be as free from sin as Adam and Eve before the fall.

A King Bringing Gifts

Jesus gave gifts like no king was ever able to give, even the gift of eternal life, the gift of all gifts. He offered it freely to all. Let them come. The King held out a life promise: you will live forever. Take up your cross and follow Him. He said, I am come in my Father’s name, and ye receive me not: if another shall come in his own name, him ye will receive (John 5:43). He came unto his own, and his own received him not. But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name (John 1:11,12). Jesus the King—how we should love and admire Him!

A King Come to Destroy the Works of the Devil

Jesus took on the role of the Great Physician; He was there to care for the sick, the wounded, the scarred, the maimed. He was there to cure them of all their sufferings, of all manner of sicknesses and diseases. Jesus went about all Galilee…healing all manner of sickness and all manner of disease among the people (Matthew 4:23). This is King Jesus in action. He spat on the ground, and made clay of the spittle, and he anointed the eyes of the blind man with the clay. And said unto him, Go, wash in the pool of Siloam…He went his way therefore, and washed, and came seeing (John 9:6,7). This King stooped down to the dirt, made clay to anoint blinded eyes and give them sight. He’s the same King who stooped down in Eden and made man in the first place. Who would have believed Him to be King had they seen Him in the dirt? Kings usually have servants for dirty work, servants to serve and look out for them. Jesus didn’t come for that purpose; I say again, He came to serve, to destroy the works of the devil so that all mankind could come into His Kingdom, accept Him willingly as King.

The King Cast Out Devils

For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil (I John 3:8). Other kings would order the demented, the sick away from them; but not this King. A madman came, naked, leaping out of a dark tomb, screaming, gnashing his teeth. Long matted hair, eyes glittering like the coals of hell, he was a man no one could tame or even bind with chains. But when he saw the King he cried with a loud voice, What have I to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of the most high God? I adjure thee by God, that thou torment me not. For he said unto him, Come out of the man, thou unclean spirit (Mark 5:7,8).

The King cast the devils out and gave the madman his right mind. Rushing to the scene, the citizens of the city didn’t expect to see a King. They came to see someone who had destroyed their swine, their pigs, for the devils that Jesus cast out had besought him, saying, Send us into the swine, that we may enter into them. And the unclean spirits went out, and entered into the swine: and the herd ran violently down a steep place into the sea, (they were about two thousand;) and were choked in the sea (Mark 5:12,13). Devils don’t want to go into animals, they want to be in people. But rather than being sent to hell, they pleaded to go into the swine.

Jesus’ followers heard the devils plead and beg. In holy awe they watched Him, so amazed that even Peter hadn’t drawn a sword when the madman came rushing toward Jesus. Jesus had stepped forth with the authority from Heaven, power from On High. Come out! He commanded the devils. And they came.

Did the people of the city rejoice to see their neighbor delivered, he who had been mad, outcast from his family and dwelling among the tombs? No, even though they saw him clothed and in his right mind sitting beside Jesus, beside royalty, the King who had come down from Heaven.

No other king had ever been so great or mighty. The Lord loved every minute of the deliverance as He looked upon the new man He had just made, a man with a mind to think the way God wanted him to think, to feel the presence of Heaven. Not one good word did the people of the city have to say about that. They didn’t see a King but someone who had robbed them of their pigs. Many today love pigs better than they love souls.

This King Gave Power against Unclean Spirits

Never was there a King with such deliverance for the people, with such power. He had power and authority to give His subjects over the kingdom of Satan so they could trample devils underfoot just like the King trampled them, to cast out devils just like He cast them out, to lay hands on the sick for healing just like the King healed. He gave them power against unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all manner of sickness and all manner of disease. Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give (Matthew 10:1,8).

Where did you get this authority? His enemies wanted to know. His authority came from Heaven. He had brought it with Him.

The King Still Heals Today

That King has walked into sickrooms again and again and touched His children with healing; King Jesus made them whole. Some had cancer, but they met King Jesus, and He cleansed them of it. Some had diabetes. They met King Jesus, and He purified their systems. Some were not able to walk; perhaps they were in a wheelchair after suffering a stroke. Then they met King Jesus, the healing King, the King of life, of greatness, the King who can be touched with the feeling of our infirmities (Hebrews 4:15).

A Throne of Blood–Washed Souls

No throne was built on Earth for this King; His throne was many thrones in the blood–washed souls of men, women, boys and girls. This King would set up His abode in the very center of each soul, each life. He would be invited to take these thrones, invited to rule over these lives, to have the final say. The privilege of making every plan He wanted for each of His subjects would be His.

King Jesus: Behold Him, look upon Him! What king would have gone to a dead man’s tomb? What king would have walked miles to dry the tears of two lowly women? They didn’t have money; they were not rich. What king with no place to call his own would have walked those dusty roads? Think of the many, many nights He slept out on the hard, hard ground. Kings should be in palaces; kings should have soft beds. This King had no place on Earth to call home.

A Kingdom Come Down from Heaven

He was born to be King of all kings, but He was different from them. Never, I say again, had there been a king like Him, never a king to make so many, many promises, unbelievable, fantastic promises. Yet His subjects came into His Kingdom and accepted Him as their King, discovered that everything this King said about Himself was true.

Jesus said, I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me (John 6:38). From Heaven He had come. His followers learned as the days passed that He had the power He spoke of when He said, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth (Matthew 28:18).

Open Your Bible and Hear the King Speaking

It behooves us to listen to what the King is saying; He is saying much to His subjects in this last hour. Go forth, my children: Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world (Matthew 28:19,20). The powers of hell will not be able to defeat you. I will be with you, and I will give you victory over all the powers of darkness. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid (John 14:27). Open your Bible and hear Him speak, King Jesus, your King.

Many in the different kingdoms today cannot get close enough to their king to hear him speak, but your King is nigh unto His subjects. Your King’s ears are open to all the cries, all the pleas, all the needs of His people.

A King You Can Call On Anytime

What king can be disturbed any hour of the day or night by the lowliest of subjects, the poorest of the poor? King Jesus can. Garments tattered, shunned by men, any outcast can be a subject of the King, one of His little lambs. Open wide the gate; let them come in! They can talk to the King anytime, make their appearance before Him.

In Queen Esther’s day it meant death for anyone to appear before the king unless he was called. You don’t have to wait for your King; you have the privilege of calling Him anytime; you can approach Him any hour. He never is too busy, but always ready to listen. He doesn’t look at your clothes, your bank account. He loves you because you are you, because He made you. He loves you because you have a living soul that can never die, a soul that is part of Him. He loves you because you are bone of His bone and flesh of His flesh, a member of His family, adopted, loved.

A King with Power to Rise from the Dead

Is He your King? If He is, you have nothing to worry about, nothing to fear. King Jesus said, I lay down my life, that I might take it again. No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again (John 10:17,18). The disciples, seeing Jesus crucified, thought He would come down from the cross. Unbelievers at the foot of the cross mocked, Come down and we’ll believe!

King Jesus had already come down, all the way down from Heaven. Man, woman, boy, girl were so low, so steeped in sin that the King Himself had to come just as low so He could reach them and bring them up. It was the only way He could lift fallen humanity. He wasn’t on Earth to cater to unbelievers. He wasn’t there to accommodate doubt. He hadn’t come to prove to the skeptics, the dishonest doubters that He was King of the earth. He was King of everyone who would accept Him and meet His qualifications. People couldn’t come into His Kingdom under their own terms, their own whims.

By ones they came, accepting Him as King. Then they saw Him die. Surely, they thought, He couldn’t die; He said no man could take His life. They forgot that He said He would lay His life down and take it up again. Had they only listened to all the King was saying….

A King of kings dying, crucified, was a King about to conquer death, hell and the grave for His subjects. Never before had such a thing been heard of; never before had a king done such a thing in all the history of man.

A King’s body was placed in a tomb. All other kings would remain decaying in their graves until a resurrection would bring them forth on that day—the righteous to eternal bliss, and the wicked to eternal punishment. This King’s body lay cold in death; but on the third day, He woke as from a sleep.

An angel worked with this King. Angels ministered to this King. He could have called a million angels on crucifixion day to come down and kill everyone who agreed to His death, but He forgave.

This King died so all could live. No one will have an excuse on Judgment Day; all will have had an opportunity to inherit eternal life in Heaven.

Now He came, a King walking out of a tomb that could no longer hold Him. Sealed in a special way, the tomb was even guarded by soldiers. But they became as dead men when He walked out. King Jesus had conquered death.

What a King we have! Because of Him we need not fear death. Our King has conquered death; our King has authority over death. Our King speaks and death has to obey and back off.

He gathered such a few subjects around Him that it didn’t look as though His Kingdom would ever be much. But His Kingdom is not like other kingdoms of the earth. It incorporates spiritual greatness, a realm of Heaven that is beyond anyone not a part of the Kingdom. Those outside have no understanding of such a Kingdom.

This King Ascended into Heaven

This King proudly led that little band of followers to the mount from which He would ascend back to Heaven. They watched Him out of sight, the King of glory going back to glory. He had won. To the world He didn’t look like a winner, but all Heaven shouted that He was a winner that day He walked down the avenue of glory. He had won for every boy, girl, man, woman.

The King is your victory if you will accept Him, your deliverance if you want Him. He is your King of everlasting life if you desire Him; but remember, He won’t command you to serve Him. He won’t force you. It’s whosoever will; it’s up to you. You can accept Him or you can reject Him.

Everyone Will Bow before This King

One day those who reject the King will bow before Him. Every knee will have to bow and every tongue confess that He is the Son of God, that He is King. At the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father (Philippians 2:10,11). He is King, King of power; unbelievers will find He is King of judgment also. There will be no mercy for them just as there is no mercy for the devil and his angels who were cast out of Heaven. Think of the fallen angels…they knew Jesus was the King; Lucifer knew He was King. King Jesus has waited a long time for the hour when all unrighteousness would be judged.

The Early Church Recognized the King

The Early Church made Him King in their lives; they put Him before houses and lands, before family. They put Him first in everything. Jesus was their King, and they loved Him with all their hearts, adored Him with every fiber of their being. Blessed be the name of the Lord!

If you’re a subject in His Kingdom, be glad. He counts you special. All in the Kingdom are blood washed, cleansed by the blood of the Lamb. What a King who can cleanse every subject in His Kingdom! What a King who can feed His subjects food from Heaven!

The King Is Coming

He is coming again a crowned King with the sword of judgment for all outside of His Kingdom. Watching and waiting for Him to come, His subjects are excited. They long for His coming, long to be lifted into the air with Him, to meet Him in the sky. They yearn to walk down the avenue of Glory with their King. Think of the shouts of hallelujah: This is our King! This is our King! King Jesus!

Introduce the King to the World

In this final hour we must introduce Him to the whole world as our King and more: He is Savior, Lord, Master. He is the Great Physician. Many in underprivileged nations are sick, hungry. He’s the one who filled the meal barrel, that multiplied the loaves and fishes. This King with His supply houses on Earth is a wonder to behold. He tells us simply to ask, and ye shall receive (John 16:24). Just ask.

But to ask, you must know who He is, you must recognize Him as King. The “whole you” must bow night and day in His presence, long for Him and for His presence to ever be with you. Long for His promises to always be spoken to you and fulfilled for you. What a message! We have the King’s message; we’re the King’s messengers. What will we do with the message? Will we just sit and hold it to our hearts, or will we run with it until we have delivered it to all people throughout the earth? They’re waiting. Yea, saith the Lord, they’re waiting for the King’s message. They’ve been so disappointed in the kings of the earth, but this King come down from Heaven will not disappoint them. We’re the ones to introduce Him. We’re the ones to bring those poor helpless ones in contact with the King of Heaven, King Jesus.

Is He King in Your Life?

The Lord is here. Acknowledge Him as King. If you do not know Him, pray the sinners’ prayer in the presence of the King, King Jesus. Oh, God, save my soul. I know that Jesus died for me. I thank you, dear God, for giving me King Jesus. I will serve Him. I will honor Him. I will do His will. Forgive me for all of my sins. I know there is power in His blood to wash away all of my sins, all. Come on in, Jesus! Come on in, Jesus, and be King in my life. Amen and amen! If you really meant this prayer, now Jesus is King in your life. Let Him rule and reign.

How wonderful He is. Serve Him. Delight in Him, and you will be amazed as He serves you His greatness. You will be amazed to discover that nothing He has is too good for you. No one has ever loved or cared for you like Jesus loves you, no one.

You who are sick and afflicted: Jesus is the Great Physician. With his stripes we are healed (Isaiah 53:5). Lord, here they are. I bring them in your holy name. I bring them in obedience to your Word, to your promises. In the name of Jesus, from the gifts of healing, from your supernatural gift of miracles it comes, in your holy name through the power of the Holy Ghost. Heal, in the holy name of the Lord. Heal, in the all–powerful name of Jesus of Nazareth, King of the Jews and King of the Gentiles, Heaven’s King for Earth people. We thank thee, oh Lord; and we bow humbly in your presence. We worship and adore you. Now neighbor, only believe and get well.

Journey with Him now; cast your cares upon Him daily. You will find He cares; He has all the answers. Jesus is King: that’s the reason His Bride is going to do all He wants done in this last hour. With all faithfulness she will serve Him in every way He wants to be served.

He gave His life for us; and now what will we give to Him? Having heard these promises, dearly Beloved, present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service (Romans 12:1). The obedient will cry: We’re doing it, we will give, give, give of ourselves, of our time. We will not come up lacking. We will wear His shoes and clothe ourselves in His powerful spiritual garments so we can be like Him, talk like Him, act like Him—we are subjects in His Kingdom. We love everything about that Kingdom. We’re glad it is not of this world, glad we’re getting out, glad this kingdom called the world is not His Kingdom.

Thus Saith the Lord

Yea, saith the Spirit of the Lord: I am moving upon my people to carry my message in this their last hour. And my message will go forth. My message is a message of love and peace and courage and strength and deliverance for all. And I will give you my power to deliver my message. You will have my power to trample devils underfoot, and no power will be able to stand before you.

You will glorify my name as I glorified my Father’s name when I was on Earth. And I will work with you and through you just like my Father worked with me and through me when I was here on Earth.

You will behold my greatness just as I beheld my Father’s greatness when I was on Earth. I am your King, and you are loved by your King. I am your King to furnish you all the grace that’s needed. I am your King to give you my song of gladness. Be not troubled in spirit; do not be afraid; I am King. I am King! I am your King, saith the Lord.
