How Do You Look at Your Problems?
by Ernest Angley
October 2014
We will have problems of all kinds as we walk Earth’s journey of life, but how you look at those problems and deal with them will determine their outcome. Jesus told us to take our problems to Him. Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest (Matthew 11:28). He also said we are to learn of Him. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls (Matthew 11:29). Today, many of you have rivers that you cannot cross and mountains that you cannot tunnel through, so what are you going to do with all of those problems? You must get into the Bible and find out what God wants you to do because with God, all things are possible. If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth (Mark 9:23).
Want God’s Will
The Lord will never tell you to do anything that you cannot do because with Him, you can do anything He tells you to if you really want to. If you don’t want to, then you will fail God; and when you fail God, you fail yourself because God is the only supreme power and the only one who can help you.
Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths (Proverbs 3:5,6). If you lean on the Lord and leave things in His hands, He will work everything out for you.
God is the God of mercy, wisdom and understanding, the God of supply, peace, joy and so much more. He is everything we need, so there is nothing lacking. Jesus brought what we need to solve every problem we will turn over to Him; but if you fail to live in the divine Spirit of the Lord, walk in the blood of the Lamb and really want the whole will of God, then He cannot solve all of your problems.
Let God Take You Through
Many people get buried with problems because they don’t know what to do with them, but I take my problems to Jesus because I know He can solve them.
When David was getting ready to go after Goliath, he gathered five little stones which represented J-E-S-U-S; but it only took one of those stones to kill that giant. And it came to pass, when the Philistine arose, and came, and drew nigh to meet David, that David hasted, and ran toward the army to meet the Philistine. And David put his hand in his bag, and took thence a stone, and slang it, and smote the Philistine in his forehead, that the stone sunk into his forehead; and he fell upon his face to the earth. So David prevailed over the Philistine with a sling and with a stone, and smote the Philistine, and slew him (I Samuel 17:48-50).
It does not take all of Jesus to solve your problems either. When it looks like those swiftly moving rivers of problems will sweep you downstream, Jesus will make a bridge for you and take you right across. If you are surrounded by mountains of sickness or financial problems, Jesus can tunnel right through those mountains if you will trust Him with all of your heart and lean not to your own understanding. You must know that God’s way is always the right way.
Wait on God
The Bible tells us to delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart (Psalm 37:4). God is a God of patience, so you have to learn to wait upon Him; and when you do, He will take care of your problem. But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint (Isaiah 40:31).
Jesus said, In your patience possess ye your souls (Luke 21:19). In your patience, you possess your soul, the desires of your heart and everything you need. I always wait upon God, but many people do not and are always running ahead of Him; so they will either delay their answer or never get their answer. Then they are in trouble.
When I don’t know what to do with a problem or how to answer a question, I ask myself, “What would Jesus do or say?” Then I get my answer. Some of you don’t think that will work for you, but the Bible works for everybody who will let it if you believe in it and take blood steps of faith. God can only deliver you when you go about solving your problems His way, but people who always want things their way will never get their problems solved. I use God’s knowledge, not my own.
Use Divine Faith
Divine faith is what will bring you out, and God taught me how to use that faith rather than relying on my feelings or somebody else’s opinions. The Bible tells us, But without faith it is impossible to please him (Hebrews 11:6). If you don’t have the faith to believe God, you will not know how to use the things of God or how to cooperate with Him; and then you will become a hindrance to His Kingdom.
When you come to God, you must believe that He is Lord God Almighty all the time and that there is no other God above Him. For he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him (Hebrews 11:6).
The Bible tells us that we must have faith in God (Mark 11:22) and that God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith (Romans 12:3). When you use that measure, God will give you another measure and another measure.
Faith in God will heal you and take every disease out of your body. And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up (James 5:15). When Jesus was here, He healed all manner of sicknesses and diseases; but He could not heal all manner of people. And he [Jesus] did not many mighty works there [in Nazareth] because of their unbelief (Matthew 13:58).
The Lord cannot work with unbelief, so make no room for it; but if you believe, you can help the Lord make miracles. When Jesus was here, He needed the people to help Him resurrect Lazarus from the dead. When Jesus arrived, Lazarus’ sister Martha said, Lord, if thou hadst been here, my brother had not died (John 11:21). Then Jesus said to her, Thy brother shall rise again (John 11:23); but the people there that day were not believing.
They led Jesus to Lazarus’ tomb; and when He said, Take ye away the stone. Martha, the sister of him that was dead, saith unto him, Lord, by this time he stinketh: for he hath been dead four days. Jesus saith unto her, Said I not unto thee, that, if thou wouldest believe, thou shouldest see the glory of God (John 11:39,40)?
The people delayed Jesus by doubting Him, but the men finally got up enough courage to roll away the stone; and then Jesus cried in a loud voice, Lazarus, come forth. And he that was dead came forth, bound hand and foot with graveclothes: and his face was bound about with a napkin. Jesus saith unto them, Loose him, and let him go (John 11:43,44).
All of the miracles Jesus was performing scared the Jews because they knew everybody would soon be following Him; so the Pharisees, Sadducees and hypocrites wanted to kill Him. But some of them went their ways to the Pharisees, and told them what things Jesus had done. Then gathered the chief priests and the Pharisees a council, and said, What do we? for this man doeth many miracles. If we let him thus alone, all men will believe on him: and the Romans shall come and take away both our place and nation. Then from that day forth they took counsel together for to put him to death (John 11:46-48,53).
They sought to kill Lazarus, too, because he was causing people to follow Jesus. The chief priests consulted that they might put Lazarus also to death; Because that by reason of him many of the Jews went away, and believed on Jesus (John 12:10,11).
Do What Jesus Says
Jesus had a problem when He needed to feed a crowd of 5000 and had no food, but He had the miracle answer. One of his disciples, Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother, saith unto him [Jesus], There is a lad here, which hath five barley loaves, and two small fishes: but what are they among so many? And Jesus said, Make the men sit down. Now there was much grass in the place. So the men sat down, in number about five thousand. And Jesus took the loaves; and when he had given thanks, he distributed to the disciples, and the disciples to them that were set down; and likewise of the fishes as much as they would. When they were filled, he said unto his disciples, Gather up the fragments that remain, that nothing be lost. Therefore they gathered them together, and filled twelve baskets with the fragments of the five barley loaves, which remained over and above unto them that had eaten (John 6:8-13).
A young boy with a little basket of food helped Jesus make that great miracle. I am sure he was so excited about seeing Jesus; and he probably thought, “I wonder if there is anything I can do to get His attention.” Then Jesus came to the boy and asked, “Can I have your little basket?” I am sure that young lad’s eyes got real big as he gladly handed that little basket over to Jesus. The boy knew what was in his basket, so he must have been totally amazed as the food kept coming out of it after Jesus had blessed it.
There is no end to God’s divine miracles, but there are so many dead churches today without miracles. The preachers are not showing people the way to Heaven because it takes miracles to show people the way to Heaven. If there are no miracles in a church, then there is deceit in it because if people don’t believe in miracles, they don’t believe in God.
When Jesus was here, many people who saw His miracles believed. Many believed in his name, when they saw the miracles which he did (John 2:23). That is why you need miracles to be a Jesus soul winner.
Jesus performed His first miracle in Cana when He turned water into wine. There was a marriage in Cana of Galilee; and the mother of Jesus was there: And both Jesus was called, and his disciples, to the marriage. And when they wanted wine, the mother of Jesus saith unto him, They have no wine. Jesus saith unto her, Woman, what have I to do with thee? mine hour is not yet come. His mother saith unto the servants, Whatsoever he saith unto you, do it (John 2:1-5). The servants obeyed Jesus and filled the empty water pots with water. Then when they poured it out to the people, it was wine. Now, keep in mind that the wine was not fermented; I have done quite a study on it.
The secret to receiving from the Lord is doing what He tells you to do, and Jesus’ mother knew what it was like to listen to and obey divinity. She had great faith when she was told by the angel that she would have a son who would save anyone who would call on His name. She had asked the angel, How shall this be, seeing I know not a man? And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God (Luke 1:34,35). With her great faith, she said, Be it unto me according to thy word (Luke 1:38); and all children of God should be able to say that today.
Jesus Gave Sight
John recorded a great miracle about a young man who was born blind. At first, the disciples wanted to know if his father or his mother had sinned and caused such a thing. Jesus answered, Neither hath this man sinned, nor his parents: but that the works of God should be made manifest in him (John 9:3). That young man had never seen green grass or watched a bird sing. He had never seen his mother or father’s faces; but suddenly, there was a man stooping before him who was spitting on the ground to make some mud to put on his eyes. Then Jesus said, Go, wash in the pool of Siloam, (which is by interpretation, Sent.) He went his way therefore, and washed, and came seeing (John 9:7). That man did not even ask Jesus who He was, but he had great faith in God.
The people questioned the young man about his miracle and then took him to the Pharisees. Then again the Pharisees also asked him how he had received his sight. He said unto them, He put clay upon mine eyes, and I washed, and do see. They say unto the blind man again, What sayest thou of him, that he hath opened thine eyes? He said, He is a prophet. But the Jews did not believe concerning him, that he had been blind, and received his sight, until they called the parents of him that had received his sight (John 9:15,17,18).
The man’s parents gave the Pharisees the same story, so they went back to the young man. Then said they to him again, What did he to thee? how opened he thine eyes? He answered them, I have told you already, and ye did not hear: wherefore would ye hear it again? will ye also be his disciples (John 9:26,27)? That made them so mad that they threw the man out of the synagogue—they were such hypocrites.
Jesus heard that they had cast him out; and when he had found him, he said unto him, Dost thou believe on the Son of God? He answered and said, Who is he, Lord, that I might believe on him? And Jesus said unto him, Thou hast both seen him, and it is he that talketh with thee. And he said, Lord, I believe. And he worshipped him (John 9:35-38). That young man had great faith, and we must always be seeking for more faith. When we see God’s works and His miracles and when He answers our prayers or those of our loved ones, it should give us more faith.
Jesus Healed the Lame
John tells us about a man who was a cripple for 38 long years. He would sit by the pool of Bethesda where an angel would come down at certain times and stir up the waters, and the first person who got in would be healed of whatever was wrong with him.
Jesus went to that pool one day and asked the man, Wilt thou be made whole? The impotent man answered him, Sir, I have no man, when the water is troubled, to put me into the pool: but while I am coming, another steppeth down before me. Jesus saith unto him, Rise, take up thy bed, and walk. And immediately the man was made whole, and took up his bed, and walked (John 5:6-9). The man jumped up and was healed after all those years because he believed that voice. He did not know Jesus at the time, but faith took over; and the Holy Spirit moved upon him.
The Jews therefore said unto him that was cured, It is the sabbath day: it is not lawful for thee to carry thy bed…therefore did the Jews persecute Jesus, and sought to slay him, because he had done these things on the sabbath day (John 5:10,16). The Jews would use anything they could to fight Jesus; but He let them know He was Lord of the Sabbath and that since He came, we are to live every day holy, not just the Sabbath. For the Son of man is Lord even of the sabbath day (Matthew 12:8).
Use Miracle Faith
God’s miracles are so far-fetched to people who have no faith because you have to know God and what He will do to be able to believe in His miracles. When somebody asks you why you believe in miracles, all you have to say is “because I believe in God”; and to believe in God means you have it made because the God of miracles lives!
We always have miracles in our services because we have the faith of God, and we expect miracles. We know that the Lord is with us, and so many people have been healed by the power of God and been delivered through the boldness of our preaching. The Bible tells us that we can go before His throne with boldness. Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need (Hebrews 4:16).
All that God is doing is real, and His great works are being witnessed by thousands. I believe the whole Word of God; and the more I read it, the more faith I receive. The Bible tells us, So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God (Romans 10:17). The Bible also tells us that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints (Jude 1:3). We are to contend for that great faith that was delivered to Job, Abraham, Isaac, Gideon, Elijah, Elisha, Isaiah, Jeremiah and many more.
Divine Light Must Shine
Again I say, the secret to receiving is doing what God says; and Jesus knew that when He said, I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work. As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world (John 9:4,5). Jesus is now back in Heaven, and we are to be lights that will shine forever in God’s Kingdom. And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars forever and ever (Daniel 12:3).
A soul winner shines not like one star but many stars. The light of Heaven is the light of the blood, the light of Calvary and the light of our salvation. It is the victorious light, the light of grace, the light of trust and the light of direction. It is the light that shines in our great crusades for the whole world to behold as angels of the Lord line up around us to hold back the powers of darkness while thousands of people are delivered. The divine light shines because God Himself walks inside of His children. As God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people (II Corinthians 6:16).
Children of God used to have to go down into every valley before they could get to the next mountaintop, and it took a lot of work and strength for them to climb up each mountain; but it is not like that anymore. In this last hour, God will be leaping with the Bride of Christ from mountain to mountain; and He is going to keep doing that until Jesus comes. The voice of my beloved! behold, he cometh leaping upon the mountains, skipping upon the hills (Song of Solomon 2:8).
The Bride does not have just a form of godliness; she has righteousness and holiness. When the Lord looks at her, He sees Himself because she has the image of God.
When God created Adam and Eve, He created them in the image of God. So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them (Genesis 1:27). When God looked at them, He saw Himself just like you can see your reflection in a mirror; but they lost the image of God when they sinned, and the people were no longer born with that divine image.
Later, Jesus, the Second Adam, came so we could be born new and once again have the image of God. And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness (Ephesians 4:24). When God looks at you, He must see a reflection of Himself; and that reflection includes all the wonderful fruits of Heaven. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance (Galatians 5:22,23).
Paul Did the Works of God
The great Apostle Paul had the image of God; and he said, I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me (Galatians 2:20). He was saying that divine love, grace, power, salvation and the Holy Ghost all lived on the inside of him.
Although Paul had all of this, he still had a lot of rivers he could not cross. Paul told the Corinthians of his many trials saying, Of the Jews five times received I forty stripes save one. Thrice was I beaten with rods, once was I stoned, thrice I suffered shipwreck, a night and a day I have been in the deep; In journeyings often, in perils of waters, in perils of robbers, in perils by mine own countrymen, in perils by the heathen, in perils in the city, in perils in the wilderness, in perils in the sea, in perils among false brethren; In weariness and painfulness, in watchings often, in hunger and thirst, in fastings often, in cold and nakedness (II Corinthians 11:24-27).
Paul endured much, but God was always with him and used him in amazing ways. One time, Paul preached all night long; and while he was speaking, a boy fell out of the loft of the building and died. But through the power of God, Paul brought that boy back to life. And there sat in a window a certain young man named Eutychus, being fallen into a deep sleep: and as Paul was long preaching, he sunk down with sleep, and fell down from the third loft, and was taken up dead. And Paul went down, and fell on him, and embracing him said, Trouble not yourselves; for his life is in him. When he therefore was come up again, and had broken bread, and eaten, and talked a long while, even till break of day, so he departed. And they brought the young man alive, and were not a little comforted (Acts 20:9-12).
When Paul and Silas were in Philippi, a fortunetelling, devil-possessed slave girl followed them day after day saying, These men are the servants of the most high God, which shew unto us the way of salvation (Acts 16:17). The devil in that girl was mocking them; so when Paul had taken enough, he commanded that devil to come out. But Paul, being grieved, turned and said to the spirit, I command thee in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her. And he came out the same hour (Acts 16:18). The girl’s masters were so upset that she could no longer tell fortunes that they took Paul and Silas to the magistrates who beat them and threw them into prison.
That night, Paul and Silas were praying and singing when all of a sudden an earthquake of power shook the whole prison; and the locks fell off all the cell doors. The keeper of the prison was about to commit suicide because he knew he would be killed for letting the prisoners escape; but Paul cried with a loud voice, saying, Do thyself no harm: for we are all here. Then he [the keeper of the prison] called for a light, and sprang in, and came trembling, and fell down before Paul and Silas, And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved? And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house. And they spake unto him the word of the Lord, and to all that were in his house. And he took them the same hour of the night, and washed their stripes; and was baptized, he and all his, straightway (Acts 16:28-33). Paul and Silas got the jailor saved, and then he went on to get his whole household saved.
At another time, Paul was a prisoner and about to board a ship when he warned those in charge not to sail because there was going to be trouble; but they did not listen to him. But not long after [they had set sail] there arose against it a tempestuous wind, called Euroclydon. And when the ship was caught, and could not bear up into the wind, we let her drive (Acts 27:14,15). The ship was in such distress that the people started throwing things overboard to lighten the load; and when that didn’t work, they all thought they would die.
But after long abstinence Paul stood forth in the midst of them, and said…And now I exhort you to be of good cheer: for there shall be no loss of any man’s life among you, but of the ship. For there stood by me this night the angel of God, whose I am, and whom I serve, Saying, Fear not, Paul; thou must be brought before Caesar: and, lo, God hath given thee all them that sail with thee. Wherefore, sirs, be of good cheer: for I believe God, that it shall be even as it was told me (Acts 27:21-25).
Soon, the ship came upon an island, so the crew headed for it; but the ship ran aground. However, just as Paul had said, all of the over 200 people on that ship were saved. And so it came to pass, that they escaped all safe to land (Acts 27:44). If Paul had not been on board, I have no doubt that all the people would not have been saved.
When everyone was safely on shore, Paul went out to gather sticks to help build a fire to dry the people out; and a poisonous snake bit him. The people thought, No doubt this man is a murderer, whom, though he hath escaped the sea, yet vengeance suffereth not to live (Acts 28:4). But when they saw that the viper’s bite had no effect on Paul and did not kill him, they looked upon him as a god; but Paul let them know he definitely was not a god. However, during the time he was on that island, he prayed for people; and they were healed, and I am sure many of them were also saved.
Jesus Is the Way
You cannot live holy without Jesus. When He came to Earth, He brought a new and living way. Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus, By a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh (Hebrews 10:19,20).
Jesus came to Earth saying, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me (John 14:6). Jesus was saying, “I am here to make the way for you. I have come to tell you what the Father gives me to tell you, but you must listen.”
No one can come to the Father without first being drawn by the Spirit. Jesus said, No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him (John 6:44). Jesus was saying, “He is my Father, and He will be your Father, too; and I have come to make sons and daughters for Him.” But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons [or daughters] of God, even to them that believe on his name (John 1:12). How can this be?—because we take on the divine nature of God through the divine blood. Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature (II Peter 1:4).
True children of God are not hypocrites and do not try to put on an act. When we take on the very nature of God and become His son or daughter, we automatically act like Him. We are not only seeking to be just like Jesus; the Holy Spirit is drawing us and telling us, “Come and follow me.” You must take His direction because He is your guide; and He will guide you into the things of divinity and make you just like Jesus.
The Spirit can do that for you when you humble yourself before the Lord through prayer, fasting and living in the Word. Then Jesus said that rivers of living water would flow from you. He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water. (But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.) (John 7:38,39).
You must have the Holy Ghost to make the one flight out and to be able to do the whole will of God, which is all the Lord wants you to do on this journey. Jesus had to have the Holy Ghost when He took on the fashion of a man, and He could not begin His ministry without the Spirit. Then after He had received Him, He said, The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, To preach the acceptable year of the Lord (Luke 4:18,19).
I have that same “go ye into all the world” that Jesus had; and when He was here, He said, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned (Mark 16:15,16). The Lord does not want people to go to hell, but they have free choice; so I love to help people choose the Jesus way—that is my life.
Jesus Paid for Our Deliverance
Jesus became our Elder Brother and our Sacrificial Lamb when He took our place on Golgotha and paid the price for our sins. The Lord gives me many visions, and He will take me inside of people’s bodies and let me see their souls. If the cross does not light up in there, then they are not ready for Heaven; and if they think they are, they are deceived.
The Lord also lets me see different diseases, and then I can see the power of God moving as He re-creates parts of people’s bodies. It is miraculous what God can do and how He makes people whole. It is so simple for people to be healed if you can get them to believe the Lord and promise to serve Him and live holy.
The Bible says, By whose stripes ye were healed (I Peter 2:24). By Jesus’ blood stripes, the miracle is already done. The Lord is just waiting for you to pick up your miracle in all faith, obedience and humility and take it with you. Now, you must know that the devil will give you false symptoms; and if you believe him, you will rob yourself of your own miracle and maybe even your own salvation. They that observe lying vanities forsake their own mercy. But I will sacrifice unto thee with the voice of thanksgiving; I will pay that that I have vowed. Salvation is of the LORD (Jonah 2:8,9).
One of my members had suffered a stroke, and it left her mouth moved way over to one side of her face. Then the Lord reminded me that her mouth was just flesh, and He moved on me to keep gently stroking it until it went back into place. When the Lord was finished, you could not tell that the woman had ever had a stroke. That is what God’s power can do, and I always give Him all the glory. I would never rob God, His Son or the Holy Ghost of their glory for anything in the whole world.
A Bridge of Blood
There is a lot of singing in Heaven, and the Lord told us what kind of music and singing He likes. Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord (Ephesians 5:19). When I was saved, I got rid of the world’s music. I was raised in the jitterbug age, and I loved to dance to the swing bands; but when I was saved, God took every bit of that out of me. All I wanted to hear were the Word and spiritual psalms and hymns. I wanted to hear the glorious Gospel choruses, and I still love them and sing them today. Here is one that I like to sing:
Got any rivers you think are uncrossable,
Got any mountains you cannot tunnel through,
God specializes in things thought impossible,
He’ll do for you what no other power can do.
If you have any rivers you think are uncrossable, why do you just stand there and look at them? Jesus said you are to bring your problems to Him, so why are you still carrying around the same old problems you had last year?
The Lord made a bridge for you of divine love, grace and care through His divine blood. That blood is life; so all you have to do is take the blood way and turn your problems over to the blood, and they will be solved.
If you don’t want to have nightmares, go to sleep with your mind on the blood. Through faith, you can spray the blood all over your room just like you would spray for bugs; and then you will sleep good as long as you never doubt. The devil will come at you in every way he can, but it is not the will of the Lord for you to be tortured in your sleep.
The Miraculous Gift of Faith
Holy Ghost power is moving today, so take any miracle you need because they are freely given. Jesus brought all the miracles we can ever use and more, and He is the miracle worker. When you are praying for somebody to be healed, think about other miracles you have seen. You may know of people who have been healed of the same affliction when they were facing death, but prayer and faith in God saved their lives.
Faith is a gift from God. For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God (Ephesians 2:8). You cannot earn faith or buy it; it is a gift that is offered to everybody who will look towards Calvary. Without that gift, you will never find Calvary because the way is too dark and dangerous for you to make it; but faith will light the way for you.
My way seemed so dark when I went to the edge of the grave at 23. I did not know why God would let me die when I had just started preaching at 18, but I could not get an answer from Him. From the time God had saved me and started preaching through me, I was full of His answers; but I could not get an answer this time. I would pray for other people, and they would be healed, saved and baptized in the Holy Ghost; but the Lord was not healing me.
Through it all, I was determined that if I died, I would die in the pulpit. Sometimes, I would have to cling to the Bible stand because I was suffering so much; but I would keep preaching, and the altar would fill up with hungry seekers. I wanted to tell everybody about Heaven’s miracles, Heaven’s salvation and Heaven’s power; and I wanted to save every lost soul I could.
Just when it looked like I had only two or three more days to live, Jesus came one wonderful night and made me whole all over. I wanted to tell the world that I was going to live!
Jesus Is Your Answer
The Lord wanted you to have this message today because some of you are not dealing with your problems God’s way, but you can if you really want to get rid of them. Some of you cry over your problems and let them ruin your health, but why do you do that when you can just bundle them up and take them to Jesus?
When people tell me their problems, I take them to the Lord and turn them over to Him because I can’t answer their prayers; but I know He can. Then later, I hear their testimonies of how God answered as I knew He would. God will do anything if we wait upon Him and walk in His divine will.
If you are not living free from all sin today, you are not saved because the Bible says, The soul that sinneth, it shall die (Ezekiel 18:4). In the beginning, man and woman died spiritually when they sinned against God just as He had said they would. And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die (Genesis 2:16,17).
If you are not saved, lift up your hands and say this prayer: Oh, God, I am lost and in the night. I want that measure of faith to bring me into the light. I am so sorry that I have sinned against you, but I have come home to never roam away from you again. Forgive me, Lord, for all of my sins. I believe you died for me, and I am going to live for you. I believe the blood of Jesus washes away all of my sins. Come into my heart, Jesus. Come on in! If you meant that prayer, you can say, Hallelujah, Jesus is mine!
Receive a Miracle
Now, you can be healed. Jesus even healed sinners, but then He told them to sin no more, lest a worse thing come unto thee (John 5:14). The Lord is very strict in His work, and He said we are to be as holy as He is. Be ye holy; for I am holy (I Peter 1:16). Jesus said, Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect (Matthew 5:48). That perfection means living free from all sin, and Jesus brought divinity so we can do that. We can do anything the Bible tells us to if we are willing.
Lord, here are the people. Many of them will soon be dead unless you heal them. Lord, don’t let them go through another night of sickness and pain. I have been through those nights when I prayed for you to let the dawn come early so I could get some relief; but the night you healed me completely, the sunshine of Heaven came before midnight. Jesus, you were there, and you healed me all over; so do it for these people. I back death off of them with the blood of Jesus Christ, and I call life to their bodies. Heal them now. Heal! in the blood name of Jesus!
Now, get well of your sickness, disease or affliction and give the Lord all the glory. I am not a healer; I am just God’s witness, and I never doubt Him.
