Heaven’s Windows Are Open
by Ernest Angley
August 2021
Over 2500 years ago, the prophet Joel, through the Spirit of God, foresaw the outpouring of the Spirit. But this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel; And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh (Acts 2:16,17). That pouring-out time is now happening in our day. Heaven’s windows are open wide.
But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:19). How will He supply your need? Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the Lord of hosts (Zechariah 4:6). By His Spirit, God will do it.
In II Kings 4:1-7, you can read of a woman in great need. Her husband had died, and her creditors were going to take her sons to be slaves to pay her debts; and all she had left in her house to sustain her and her two sons was one pot of oil. However, that was all she needed for God to make a miracle of supply for her.
That oil is a type of the oil of the Holy Spirit, and that is all you need in this last and final hour. With the Holy Spirit living and dwelling on the inside, the Lord will use Him to multiply unto you and to supply everything you need. What a miracle of supply!
God has revealed His miracle hand to people down through the years, and He gave them the miracle of supply in times of great need. Now, the need is indeed a great one—the need to evangelize the world in this very last hour of the Church Age.
God Meant for Heaven and Earth to Be Connected
When God made man and placed him in the Garden of Eden, the windows of Heaven were open twenty-four hours a day. Adam and Eve had good health and plenty of food. God supplied all their needs in a miraculous way, and they lacked nothing.
The Lord kept His windows open to Adam and Eve, and He never intended the windows of Heaven to be closed. He meant for Heaven and Earth to be connected with no separation between them. God did not close those windows; but through disobedience, Adam did, and he was the head of the human race.
What a sad day that was when the connection between Heaven and the people on Earth was broken! There would be no more wonderful direct contact with God for thousands of years, and man began his struggle with many needs that would not always be supplied.
Down through the years, man has closed the windows of God in his life. He has had to work to get his food from the Earth; and many times, he has come up lacking. Man had to provide his own clothing; and again, he often was in need. His lodging was not always sufficient. His knowledge was no longer given to him by God, and he was forced to search for his own know-how. Again, he came up lacking.
Miracle Barrels on the Ark
Finally, God saw that man’s thoughts had become evil continually; and in order to destroy sin, God decided to destroy sinful man from the face of the Earth with a great flood. And it repented the LORD that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart. And the LORD said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth (Genesis 6:6,7).
However, one man named Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD (Genesis 6:8). Noah caused the windows of Heaven to open on his family, but they didn’t open on any of those who rejected God. Through the benefit of God’s open windows, Noah and his family built the ark as God had instructed them to. Then once the rains began to pour, God supplied everything they needed while they were in the ark for over a year because His windows stayed open. It was a miracle of supply.
Noah’s family could not have taken enough food for them and all the animals on board that ark because they didn’t have room for everything. The story of the widow woman’s meal barrel remaining full throughout a great famine in I Kings 17:8-16 lets you know how God supplied the needs on the ark. The ark had miracle meal barrels on board—a miracle of supply from Heaven’s open windows.
The Bible includes no record of anyone in Noah’s family becoming sick while they were on the ark. That was certainly a miracle of supply for the body. Also, not one child was born to Noah or his children during the 120 years they were building the ark or while they were in the ark. It was not the will of the Lord for any of the women to have children during that time. The Lord furnished everything Noah’s family needed, including birth control.
God put these examples of supply in the Bible for us to study. He is the same God today as He was then, and He will still supply the needs for His obedient children today; but many have failed to trust God. They have disobeyed Him and closed God’s windows for them.
Noah and his family had the sunshine of Heaven inside the ark. They had the glory of God, happiness and joy. They were not depressed or worrying about when they would get out because it was Heaven on Earth for them. The Lord must have come down to talk to them many times. Just as He had come down to the first Adam, He came down for Noah and his family when they were shut up in the ark.
Think about the many visitations they must have delighted in! God was pleased with Noah and his family. I can just hear their joyful cry, “The Lord is on board!” It was a glorious time filled with peace and contentment. I imagine many angels visited them on board. That ark was connected with Heaven and its miracle supply. When you are connected with Heaven, the miracle supply is available to you too.
Joyfully, Abraham Moved into God’s Greatness
At one time, Abraham didn’t have the miracle supply; but as he was obedient, God gave him wealth. Abraham’s servant Eliezer said this about him: And the LORD hath blessed my master greatly; and he is become great: and he hath given him flocks, and herds, and silver, and gold, and menservants, and maidservants, and camels, and asses (Genesis 24:35). God was the miracle supply for Abraham. Abraham would have closed the windows of Heaven for himself had he not obeyed God.
God was getting ready to keep the windows of Heaven open for Abraham when He said, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father’s house, unto a land that I will shew thee: And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing: And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed (Genesis 12:1-3). Abraham left his home and traveled to a place where Heaven’s windows opened upon him, and he went joyfully.
I Will Not Leave Thee
Jacob had failed, and he closed the windows of Heaven for him. Because of that failure, he was running away from his twin, Esau, who wanted to murder him. One night in the desert, Jacob fell asleep using a stone for a pillow; and he dreamed of a ladder reaching all the way from Earth to Heaven. Angels were ascending and descending on it, and the Lord stood above it. Earth and Heaven were connected that night for Jacob.
The covenant God had given Abraham was renewed through Jacob. God had opened the windows of Heaven saying, And, behold, I am with thee, and will keep thee in all places whither thou goest, and will bring thee again into this land; for I will not leave thee, until I have done that which I have spoken to thee of (Genesis 28:15).
Jacob awoke early in the fear of the Lord; and he vowed to God, If God will be with me, and will keep me in this way that I go, and will give me bread to eat, and raiment to put on, So that I come again to my father’s house in peace; then shall the LORD be my God: And this stone, which I have set for a pillar, shall be God’s house: and of all that thou shalt give me I will surely give the tenth unto thee (Genesis 28:20-22). When you are connected with Heaven, you will be all right no matter how many enemies you have because God walks with you.
God Stepped In with a Miracle Supply
Jacob journeyed until he came to the country of his Uncle Laban. He met Rachel, one of Laban’s daughters, at a well; and she hurried to tell her father about him. Laban ran to meet Jacob, and he embraced him, kissed him and brought him to his home.
And Jacob loved Rachel; and said [to Laban], I will serve thee seven years for Rachel thy younger daughter (Genesis 29:18). But the morning after Jacob thought he had married Rachel, he woke up to find he had married her sister, Leah, instead. Jacob had to serve Laban another seven years, and then he did finally marry Rachel; but along the way, his father-in-law tried to cheat him in every way he could—with his wives, his cattle and his wages.
In the midst of it all, Jacob obeyed what God told him to do; and God stepped in with His miracle of supply. And the man increased exceedingly, and had much cattle, and maidservants, and menservants, and camels, and asses (Genesis 30:43). To have God’s miracle supply, you must do all God tells you to.
Genesis 30:32-43 tells of how Jacob increased his flocks. It sounds quite unscientific in light of today’s standards, but Jacob had consulted no one except God; and the method worked. Who has a right to say God’s plans won’t work?—no one. Man’s opinions don’t count; only God’s do.
The Miracle Supply Killed Hate
The windows of Heaven remained open for Jacob; and at last, he was going home. He still didn’t realize the extent of God’s great miracle supply; and when he heard Esau was coming to meet him, he was greatly afraid and distressed (Genesis 32:7). Had he fully understood the miracle supply, he would have known that God had destroyed Esau’s hate for him and replaced it with a supply of love for him.
Jacob prayed fervently to God and then gathered cattle and other animals as gifts to send ahead. And he delivered them into the hand of his servants, every drove by themselves; and said unto his servants, Pass over before me, and put a space betwixt drove and drove (Genesis 32:16).
The next morning, Jacob saw Esau coming toward him with 400 men; so he divided his family. He put the handmaidens and their children in the front; Leah and her children followed, and Rachel and her son, Joseph, were last. Jacob was trying to save the two he loved the most by putting them last in case Esau still had murder in his heart.
Had Jacob put his love on front-line duty, it would have shown that he knew God would take care of everything. Jacob should not have been worrying. As Esau approached, the great love God had supplied to him moved him so much that Esau ran to meet him [Jacob], and embraced him, and fell on his neck, and kissed him: and they wept (Genesis 33:4). God had done that.
Love can heal when nothing else can. The Lord had furnished that love, and Esau had accepted it. Those two brothers came together because the windows of Heaven were opened upon Jacob, and it was a beautiful reunion.
In Malachi, the Lord said He will open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing (Malachi 3:10). God will open the windows—plural—of Heaven. That is how much the Lord wants us to be connected with Heaven while we are still here on Earth. Then after life on this Earth is ended, God will have a place prepared for His children—a mansion in Heaven where they can live with Him forever.
The Israelites Shut the Windows of Heaven
Israel had been disobedient and arrogant toward God, and they were in Egyptian bondage for over 400 years. That was a terrible period! They were slaves, and they were treated worse than animals—beaten and persecuted like no other people had ever been. They had shut up the windows of Heaven for them; and when you shut the windows of Heaven, you leave God out of your life.
However, no matter how disobedient the Israelites were, God was going to keep His promise to Abraham. They had been punished generation after generation, and God had said the seed of Abraham would suffer; but He also had said He would visit them in their affliction, and the windows of Heaven would open again. After 430 years, God fulfilled the promise He had made to Abraham.
Pharaoh didn’t know the great God of the universe who would open up His windows for the Israelite slaves, and many do not know that great God today. That is the reason fear forms the framework of their lives. Those who know the great God of the universe will open His windows on them are so fortunate.
Heaven’s Windows Are Always Open on the Obedient
Recently, the Lord told me that the windows of Heaven are now open all the time. He began to turn that thought over in my spirit, and I couldn’t get away from it. I had never heard such an expression—the windows of Heaven are open all the time upon the obedient, the members of the Bride of Christ.
Thus saith the Lord, you who are totally obedient to God, the windows of Heaven are open all the time. You don’t have to beg, “Lord, open up the windows!” You can lift your hands and say, “The windows are open! Thank you, Lord!”
There is no reason why the windows of Heaven should ever be closed when you walk in total obedience before God. Thus saith the Lord, the Bride in this last hour will walk in total obedience; and the windows of Heaven will remain open. Her needs will be supplied miraculously. Every member of the bridal company will be conscious of the fact that he or she can depend on the promises of God, which furnish and bring about the miraculous supply.
Plain Paths
Trust God and depend upon Him. Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths (Proverbs 3:5,6). Thus saith the Lord, our paths are being made plain paths in this last and final hour. Our paths will lead us to all nations. We will carry victory to people who want victory and bring them God’s love message.
Everyone who longs for and desires deliverance can have deliverance. Thus saith the Lord, the windows are open upon the Bride at all times. That has come about through her obedience.
Thus saith the Lord, God’s Spirit is being poured out twenty-four hours around the clock. Any time you wake up during the night, know that the Spirit is being poured out. The Lord will take care of your needs; He is the way-maker. It is time to wave the blood-stained banner of Jesus Christ. It is time to shout, “Victory!” It is time for us to say, “My God will supply! My God will supply all of my needs!” That means He will supply for the needs of your soul, mind and body. God has opened the windows of Heaven.
Speak the Words of the Lord
Oh, Israel, the windows of Heaven were wide open as you left Egypt. At last you were on your way to Canaan as a nation being brought out of a nation. It was done only through the windows of Heaven being open.
Moses could not have brought the Israelites out of Egypt himself—no man could do that. Moses even thought he was unqualified. And Moses said unto the Lord, O my LORD, I am not eloquent, neither heretofore, nor since thou hast spoken unto thy servant: but I am slow of speech, and of a slow tongue (Exodus 4:10). Moses wanted to get out of the responsibility of leading his people to freedom.
And Moses said unto God, Behold, when I come unto the children of Israel, and shall say unto them, The God of your fathers hath sent me unto you; and they shall say to me, What is his name? what shall I say unto them? And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you (Exodus 3:13,14).
God didn’t need Moses to build up His image; He just needed Moses to speak what He had said. We don’t need to make a reputation for the Lord in this final hour either. “Thus saith the Lord” is all we need to say. Believe the Word of the Lord with all your heart, and it shall be done. When people ask, “Who sent you? What kingdom are you from?” All you have to say is, “The Kingdom of God. I-Am sent me! I am sent by I-Am.”
God Gave Favor
The Israelites were leaving Egypt at last, and they were leaving in a great hurry. They had been poor slaves for many, many years, but the windows of Heaven opened on them at last. Imagine how Moses must have felt as the Egyptians were urgent upon the people, that they might send them out of the land in haste; for they said, We be all dead men. And the people took their dough before it was leavened, their kneadingtroughs being bound up in their clothes upon their shoulders. And the children of Israel did according to the word of Moses…And the LORD gave the people favour in the sight of the Egyptians, so that they lent unto them such things as they required. And they spoiled the Egyptians (Exodus 12:33-36).
The land of Canaan was flowing with milk and honey, and it was just ahead. Didn’t they see Heaven’s windows opened wide upon them as they entered the Red Sea with the waters separated to the left and to the right? Such a miracle could happen no other way than through the open windows of Heaven.
Sinai Quaked
The windows opened for the Israelites on Sinai. God was going to come down onto that mountain, and the people were to sanctify themselves. And the LORD said unto Moses, Lo, I come unto thee in a thick cloud, that the people may hear when I speak with thee, and believe thee forever…And the LORD said unto Moses, Go unto the people, and sanctify them today and tomorrow, and let them wash their clothes, And be ready against the third day: for the third day the LORD will come down in the sight of all the people upon mount Sinai (Exodus 19:9-11). The people purified themselves on the outside, but not all were purified on the inside.
And it came to pass on the third day in the morning, that there were thunders and lightnings, and a thick cloud upon the mount, and the voice of the trumpet exceeding loud; so that all the people that was in the camp trembled. And mount Sinai was altogether on a smoke, because the LORD descended upon it in fire: and the smoke thereof ascended as the smoke of a furnace, and the whole mount quaked greatly (Exodus 19:16,18). God’s voice rang forth, and all Heaven’s windows were open on that great day.
Thus saith the Lord, we can declare that all windows are open in this final hour. Blessed be the name of the Lord! God has come down. Jesus Christ is Emmanuel, meaning “God with us.” He leads this army that makes up the Bride of Christ; and when God leads an army, it will outshine the sun. The Bride is on the move.
Frightened Away from God
Israel could have seen all the way to Heaven’s open windows if they had only looked up and kept looking; but at Sinai, they buried their faces in the sand. They let the devil frighten them out of that great experience. Yes, the sight was fearful, and it made Moses tremble with great fear; but he didn’t turn from God. The heavens were lit up with the glory of God, and millions of angels surrounded the people. Israel, why didn’t you take heed to what God was saying? Why did you let the devil frighten you away from your maker, the great God and creator of the universe?
The God who had come down to walk hand in hand with Adam and Eve had come down again, but Israel was frightened away from the greatness of God to the extent that the Bible says they didn’t even want to hear God’s voice. Which voice they that heard intreated that the word should not be spoken to them any more: For they could not endure that which was commanded (Hebrews 12:19,20).
The People Disregarded God’s Miracle Supply
God wanted to talk to Israel, and He would have been so happy that day to speak to all of them. He was taking them to a land where He would miraculously supply everything they needed, the closest place to Heaven He could find for them—Canaan. But they wouldn’t follow God.
The pillar of fire gave Israel security and warmth in the desert at night, but they didn’t care. The land flowing with milk and honey seemed like a dream that was too far away, and they longed for the onions and garlic of Egypt. In other words, they didn’t care about the miracle supply of God or His great plan for them; so God let them wander in the wilderness for forty years, and He opened the windows of Heaven only at times.
God opened a window for the Israelites just long enough to rain down manna from Heaven for the multitude once every day of the week except the Sabbath; no window opened on that day. On the sixth day of the week, a double amount of manna fell to sustain the people for that day and the Sabbath.
Because the people had murmured against God again and again, God said, Your carcases shall fall in this wilderness; and all that were numbered of you, according to your whole number, from twenty years old and upward, which have murmured against me (Numbers 14:29).
Caleb and Joshua were the only exceptions to that. Why?—because Moses had sent twelve spies into the land of Canaan to see what was there, and Caleb and Joshua were the only ones who gave a good report about the land. They knew the windows of Heaven were open for them and that Israel had the divine favor of God, but they couldn’t convince the rest of the people of that. Israel’s disobedience shut the windows to the land of Canaan for forty years, and many of the people never saw those windows wide open again.
Although Israel had tied God’s hands so He was unable to move for them like He wanted to, God was good to them. When they finally reached the end of their journey, Moses reminded them, I have led you forty years in the wilderness: your clothes are not waxen old upon you, and thy shoe is not waxen old upon thy foot (Deuteronomy 29:5).
After forty years, it was time to cross over into Canaan. The windows of Heaven were open again; and the waters of the Jordan River separated, leaving a dry passage through which the Israelites entered the Promised Land.
A Test of Obedience
Once in Canaan, the Israelites had to capture the fortified city of Jericho. I have been to Jericho; and as I walked around it, I tried to imagine that ancient Israelite army marching around the walls without speaking. They had no weapons, just a few men blowing rams’ horns. It was a march to rid the people of all disobedience so that everyone would become totally obedient to the instructions of the Lord. For a whole week, they had to keep their mouths shut as they circled the walls.
If you ever wonder whether or not you have Heaven’s victory, check your mouth. When you can keep your mouth shut at the right time, you have the victory. The Israelites underwent a test of pure obedience at Jericho. Compare their obedience with your spirit. They couldn’t speak to anyone to the left or to the right. If someone bumped them, they could not protest out loud. They had to learn total obedience because only a shout of pure obedience could bring down the walls on that last day.
Our obedience must be that complete in this last hour if we are to shout down the walls of the enemy. Only voices of the totally obedient will make up that one great voice of the Bride crying in the wilderness like John the Baptist did. In this last hour, the Bride will shout; and the walls of opposition will come down.
Great things are in store for the children of God, those who are totally obedient and walking hand in hand with Him. Great and wonderful miracles will take place because the obedient live every day and night with the windows of Heaven wide open for them. That is so wonderful! The obedient are so close to Heaven! Think of the direct contact you have with Heaven!
Daniel Was Greatly Loved
The windows of Heaven were open at different times in Old Testament days. They were open for Daniel the prophet, even though they had been closed for his people, because Daniel was obedient. That is the reason we can read about Daniel in the Bible and the reason Jesus mentioned him in Matthew 24:15. It is the reason God told Daniel, Thou art greatly beloved (Daniel 9:23).
The Lord trusted Daniel in the den of lions, but He would not have trusted most people in that den. They would have made a mockery out of God’s Word and faithfulness, and they would have failed to honor God. Daniel, however, knew the windows of Heaven were open for him, so he talked to Heaven. Daniel looked toward the city of Jerusalem he hoped to return to one day, and he lifted up his voice three times a day, and prayed, and gave thanks before his God (Daniel 6:10).
One thing Daniel knew was that when he opened the window of his room to talk to God, Heaven’s windows were already open. That is why God had given him so much wisdom and knowledge and could bring revelations to him. God talked to the first Adam in Eden, and God talked to Daniel. The first Adam had a brilliant mind full of great knowledge and wisdom. He didn’t get those things through man’s training but through the miracle supply from God. Daniel also received his knowledge and wisdom from God.
Daniel’s obedience kept the windows of Heaven open upon him, and God was able to lift him up so close to Heaven that he could see through God’s telescope of time every major kingdom of the world that would come and go. He saw the day we now live in and beyond. He saw the kingdom of the Antichrist that would be destroyed with the third appearance of Christ, the time when Jesus comes to Earth to fight and put an end to the Battle of Armageddon. Then the Lord will set up His Kingdom on Earth and destroy all unrighteousness. Daniel’s great revelations came from God. They still live today and will continue to live for all time and eternity.
Sitting in Heavenly Places
It is so wonderful that Daniel could be lifted up into such a heavenly place; but the Bible tells us that since Jesus came, there is a heavenly place for each one of us. The Bible tells us that God is rich in mercy and hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus (Ephesians 2:6).
In that heavenly place, we can see beyond the world. It is a place where the Lord can talk to us, direct us and reveal Himself to us even though we are mere human beings. It is marvelous in my sight! I never get used to being visited by God, and I never get accustomed to God talking to me. It always thrills me through and through! Visitations I experienced years ago still pulse within me with the life of God. They live.
The windows of Heaven are open, but only through total obedience will God be able to reveal such a sight. Because of her total obedience, the Bride will be blessed with all the faith and all the love of Heaven. The obedient Bride will walk fearlessly with Heaven’s courage and be busy serving the greatness of Christ to others each hour she is awake because she has much to serve.
The Bride will not be concerned about things the average person is caught up with. The members of the Bride of Christ are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones (Ephesians 5:30). They are love of His love and faith of His faith. They are the Bride of Christ.
Terrible as an Army with Banners
No longer just in Old Testament types and shadows, the Bride today appears in all the glory of living reality; and Christ bestows His greatness upon her daily. It is no wonder she will be fair as the moon, clear as the sun, and terrible as an army with banners (Song of Solomon 6:10). It is no wonder she resembles a fierce army as she tramples devils underfoot! The devil fears the members of the Bride of Christ in a way he has never feared any people before.
Thus saith the Lord, God will work through the Bride even greater than He worked through the Early Church. Greater means on a more massive scale. She will do the same works Jesus did but more of them. Jesus said, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father (John 14:12).
The Bride will sweep multitudes and multitudes into the Kingdom of God. She will behold God’s glory because she knows where it is coming from. The Bride is conscious of the open windows of Heaven. She recognizes God’s power as His miracle supply is poured out.
The Bride Will Have Knowledge of This Hour
The Bride will not spend all night pleading for God to do one little thing because she knows all she needs to do is ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you (Matthew 7:7). The Bride will come forth like the morning. Who is she that looketh forth as the morning, fair as the moon, clear as the sun, and terrible as an army with banners (Song of Solomon 6:10)? The Bride will be like Jesus—she will talk like Him and act like Him.
The Bride treasures the Holy Spirit and depends on Him to lead her. Christ said, But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you (John 14:26).
The Bride will have the knowledge and wisdom of this final hour. Through the Son of righteousness, she will have the greatness of Heaven, her crown of glory from the Father. As she mounts up on wings of His great love, she declares great, joyful tidings to the whole world. She cries, “Look and behold the One with nail prints in His hands! He is the all-conquering One! He conquered death, hell and the grave for you. Come out of the dungeon of fear and out of the prison house you are in. Jesus broke all the locks for you. The devil has deceived you into thinking that is not so just because the door was closed; but if you push on that door in the name of Jesus, you will find it has no lock. The devil has no locks to use to imprison you when you speak the name of Jesus in all faith. Sinner, you can come out of any prison cell. You can come out!”
Jesus came to set the captives free. His mission is the Bride’s mission, and she has put on His shoes. The windows of Heaven are open for her, and she will conquer just as Jesus conquered. The mighty Son of God has come down with healing in His wings, and the windows are now open to you, oh Child of God and obedient one.
Fire Fell from Heaven
The windows of Heaven opened upon Elijah; but one day as he sat under a juniper tree, he forgot about them. Thank God, they were still open and had not closed for him. Elijah had not disobeyed God; he was just grieved to his soul thinking that all of his people had failed God completely, so he ran away to the mount and prayed to die.
Heaven’s windows were open when Elijah told the prophets of Baal to build an altar and call on the name of their gods to send down fire from Heaven while he would call on the name of the Lord. Then he said, The God that answereth by fire, let him be God (I Kings 18:24).
The prophets of Baal screamed and cut themselves all day long, but there was no answer from their idol god. Elijah mocked them saying, Cry aloud: for he is a god; either he is talking, or he is pursuing, or he is in a journey, or peradventure he sleepeth, and must be awaked (I Kings 18:27).
Elijah knew the windows were open for him, or he never would have done what he did. In the name of the Lord, he built the altar of the Lord, made a trench around it and laid the sacrifice on the altar. Then he poured twelve barrels of water over it all. There was so much water that it covered the wood, the sacrifice, the altar and ran into the trench.
Then Elijah stepped forward with the windows of Heaven open and prayed a little prayer of just sixty-three words. Then the fire of the LORD fell, and consumed the burnt sacrifice, and the wood, and the stones, and the dust, and licked up the water that was in the trench (I Kings 18:38). Everyone knew where the fire was coming from. It was rolling out of Heaven’s windows as a mighty mountain of flames that consumed the sacrifice and more. God is God! With that power pouring down on Elijah, he took a sword and beheaded 450 prophets of Baal.
The windows of Heaven had opened on one obedient servant of God, and the windows of Heaven will open on you too if you will obey God. However, if your belief in God is only lip service, and you say one thing and believe another, the windows will not open for you. Study the people in the Bible who were blessed with window-open blessings, and you will find they were the obedient ones.
Enoch Was Translated
The windows of Heaven were open to Enoch. The Lord had not found anyone like him since Adam, before he had sinned and fallen from grace. Enoch encouraged the Lord, and God longed for a whole race of people like Enoch; but He knew His Son would have to die to make such a race. God wanted Enoch to be with Him so much that one day, He took him to Heaven. By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God (Hebrews 11:5).
Enoch left this Earth without saying good-bye; and one day, the Bride will leave this Earth in the same way. She will be translated, and she will not see death. Thank God for Jesus, the blessed hope! We carry that blessed hope within because the windows of Heaven are open. That is why you can have all your needs supplied. They are window-open blessings.
Although God told Israel He would open the windows of Heaven upon them, Israel shut them with their disobedience. They robbed God by not keeping His ordinances and were cursed as a whole nation; but the Lord told them that if they would be obedient and bring all their tithes into the storehouse, He would open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it (Malachi 3:10). God said, “Israel, your disobedience has brought you much sorrow and desolation; but if you will obey me, I will open up the windows of Heaven upon you.”
Christ Liveth in Me!
Are you a part of the obedient Bride? Are you totally obedient to the Lord? If so, you will cry, “Take the whole world, but give me Jesus; and I won’t turn back!” Jesus is the pearl of great price and the bright and morning star. We are going through to Glory! Thanks be to God!
The windows were open for Israel when God came down wrapped in a pillar of fire by night and a cloud by day. He was living reality to those who were obedient as He led the Israelites in the wilderness, but Jesus has gone beyond that for us. Jesus Christ has come to live on the inside of us and wrap us in His love, glory, faith, goodness and mercy. We are not able only to get a look at God; He lives on the inside of us through the blood of Jesus.
The Apostle Paul said, I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me (Galatians 2:20). Your soul has an unlimited capacity for the things of God because it is a part of God. The soul came from God, and it can hold all of Heaven.
New Creations
We heard the call of God one day, and He said He would open the windows of Heaven upon us if we would go to Calvary. You may ask, “Oh, Lord, will you open Heaven’s windows if we will leave sin and disobedience behind and go to Calvary?” And He will answer, “Yes, I will make you new. I will make you a new creation, and you will never be the same. Come with me.”
The Holy Spirit will speak to your heart and say, “Come, I will show you the One who died for you. I will show you the One who brought you deliverance and power from On High. All He brought is within your reach.”
The day you surrendered to God through the Old Rugged Cross was indeed a glorious time! The windows of Heaven opened, and the glory came down. You felt you never would be sad or in despair again. You had been washed in the blood of the Lamb, and you were no longer a poor, lost sinner.
Oh, Members of the Bride of Christ, the obedient ones, we are now in the final walk; and I say to you that Heaven’s windows are open for you, and they will never close as long as you are obedient. Your obedience will keep them all open for you.
Disobedient Sinner or Backslider, don’t you know you need God’s miraculous supply for your soul, mind and body? Don’t you know you must have Jesus? Don’t you know it is essential to be connected with Heaven? One day, Earth will vanish away; Earth as we know it will be no more. Why don’t you come to Jesus? Backslider, the Holy Spirit has been following some of you for such a long time. Come home before dark. The night is coming, and you won’t be able to find your way back because the Holy Spirit will no longer shine Heaven’s light upon your path to show you the way.
Lift up your heart as I pray the sinner’s prayer with you: Oh, God, save my soul! Forgive me for all my sins. I am sorry that I sinned against you, but I have come home; and I am going to serve you, Lord, for the rest of my life. I believe there is power in the blood of Jesus to wash away all of my sins. Come into my heart, Jesus.
If you meant that prayer, you can now say, “Hallelujah, Jesus has come!”
God’s Healing Power Is Flowing
If you are sick and afflicted, that is not the Lord’s will. Jesus came with healing in His wings for you, so let me pray with you now. The Bible says the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up (James 5:15). I am not a healer; God is the healer. I am just His believer.
Lord, I bring the sick and afflicted to you—the cancer victims, the diabetics, the heart patients. I bring the paralyzed, the blind, the deaf and those with any other affliction or disease. I bring them all to you, precious Jesus. I bring them in your faith and in your love. I bring them to you through your Holy Spirit. From your supernatural gift of miracles and your supernatural gifts of healing, the healing comes in the name of your Son, Jesus. Heal! in the holy name of Jesus.
God’s healing power is now flowing. Watch all improvements daily, and let His power work to get you well just as it got me well one day. That divine power brought me back from the edge of the grave and gave me life, and it can do the same for you because Jesus Christ [is] the same yesterday, and today, and forever (Hebrews 13:8). I believe in miracles because I believe in God.
God Has Promised
As we respond to God’s greatness, we will see the incredible manifestations of the Holy Spirit. The Lord is great, wonderful and mighty in all His ways.
Thus saith the Lord, I am your God. I promised signs and mighty wonders in this your last hour, and I will perform. My people will believe for my greatness, and no power can defeat my greatness, saith the Lord. I am moving through my people. I am blessing my people. I am the courage of my people. I am the love of my people. I am the greatness of my people, and all my people need to do is just yield to me, saith the Lord.
I have given you instructions. I have told you how to yield to me in my Holy Word, and all you have to do is obey what I have said. I will use you in this the last hour; you will be witnesses for me, witnesses of the greatness of my might and my power. Be not afraid, but look, look at Jesus and know that you have the same strength that He had, that you have the same power. You have the same faith; you have the same greatness that He used when He was here on Earth. It is all yours, saith the Lord.
Lift up your heart and take the anointing and the greatness of God. Holy Lord God Almighty! We honor you, Lord. Blessed be the name of the Lord! As we go into the greatness of God, I believe God’s true people will have their eyes opened more and more to see what God is doing. The Lord wants to make Himself living reality to us. Heaven’s windows are open on the Bride of Christ in this last and final hour, and that makes all things possible—ONLY BELIEVE!
