The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, To preach the acceptable year of the Lord (Luke 4:18,19). These are the words of Jesus, and now we will break these verses down.

Why was the Spirit of the Lord upon the Son of God?—because He had become the Son of man. He had taken on the fashion of a man and become our Elder Brother so that He could be our Sacrificial Lamb according to the Law as well as according to grace.

The anointing of God makes all the difference in the world, but some people are so careless about His anointings. I take a fresh anointing for every service. When I am conducting overseas crusades, I cannot meet with all of the preachers and be ready for the services; so I stay in my room with God. I meet with the preachers in the seminars, and I teach them. I am there on business for the Lord, and I live in His presence.

I have no life of my own and no social life, but I have a life in Jesus Christ. Paul said, I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me (Galatians 2:20); and many of you can say the same thing. It is Christ living inside of you that makes the difference.

Jesus said, He hath anointed me to preach the Gospel; and it is wonderful how children of God can preach. On the mission fields, our tour members preach and testify in the local churches on Sunday mornings.

The Anointings Bring Freedom

He hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, and we find so many brokenhearted people in our travels. God’s love anointing has all of His kindness, goodness, mercy and gentleness in it. That is why when you give a touch of God’s love to people, it is so powerful that it moves and helps them. It not only has the power to break yokes but the power to heal after the yoke has been broken because many times after a yoke is broken, we have to be healed up.

To preach deliverance to the captives. So many people are captives of witchcraft, voodoo and all kinds of darknesses of the devil; and many preachers are involved in them as well. They have taught their people that those darknesses will blend with the Gospel; but if you know anything about the Gospel, you know they will never mix with it. Because preachers teach that, their people have to “unlearn” it; and it is harder to “unlearn” something than it is to learn it.

Thousands who are bound will come to our crusade services, and they will be set free. I have stood on the platform and watched as the power of God takes crowds of people over, and the devils go out of them like defeated armies. I see those devils being taken away either by the Holy Spirit or by Jesus Christ Himself, and it is marvelous to behold. I can see those demons just like you see people; and the only way I can describe it is that the air will be full of them in all sizes, and it looks like a tornado.

Then the rivers of living water flow from the throne of God; and at times, the water covers up the thousands of people, and I cannot even see them. The Holy Spirit rains down, and His rain does not come down in drops; it pours straight down without a break, and it falls on the platform in front of me. I have stood and watched it pile up on the ground as miracles were taking place for thousands of people.

Be patient therefore, brethren, unto the coming of the Lord. Behold, the husbandman waiteth for the precious fruit of the earth, and hath long patience for it, until he receive the early and latter rain (James 5:7). We are in the latter rain now, and it is pouring down. Fast and pray and do not doubt God. The Lord said, This kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting (Matthew 17:21).

Jesus received the Holy Ghost when He was baptized in Jordan by John the Baptist, the forerunner of Jesus; and John saw the Holy Ghost come upon Jesus in the form of a dove. And John bare record, saying, I saw the Spirit descending from heaven like a dove, and it abode upon him [Jesus]. And I knew him not: but he that sent me to baptize with water, the same said unto me, Upon whom thou shalt see the Spirit descending, and remaining on him, the same is he which baptizeth with the Holy Ghost. And I saw, and bare record that this is the Son of God (John 1:32-34).

God’s Children Must Fast

After receiving the Holy Ghost, Jesus could say, The Spirit of the Lord is upon me. Then the Bible says that Jesus was led by the Spirit into the wilderness, Being forty days tempted of the devil. And in those days he did eat nothing (Luke 4:1,2). Jesus fasted for forty days and nights. Somebody once asked me how many forty days of fasting I have had, but I told them I do not know because there have been so many. Years ago, I had counted fourteen forty-day fasts; but I lost track after that. However, it does not matter how many fasts I have had; it is the results I have received from them. The gifts of God only work through prayer and fasting. Fasting is not easy, but I will do anything for the Lord; and He has anointed us to pray, fast and live in the Word. He told me years ago that if people would do those three things consistently, they would take them into the greatness of God.

The Bible says that man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God (Matthew 4:4). When you fast, you eat the Word, which means you dine on the Word. Any good medical doctor will tell you that it is healthy to fast as long as you drink plenty of water, but I used to get to the place on a long fast where it was hard for me to drink water. Then the Lord came to me one day and said, “When you drink water on your fast, think about drinking from the river of life.” I did that; and then I was able to fill up with water, and it was like I had eaten a full meal. I would go in the power of that water, and it was wonderful!

When you go weeks without food, you need water. Jesus drank water, but He did not eat anything; and the Lord helps us to fast in the same way. In the name of Jesus, we do it for souls and to receive the power of God.

Show Love

To set at liberty them that are bruised. So many people are hurt in their marriage. They may have a mate who will not be faithful to God, go to church or show love, one who always wants to fuss and fight. In the twenty-seven years of our marriage, my wife, Angel, and I never fussed or fought. We planned it that way, and we had more than a storybook marriage. Most people would think that such a thing could not be possible, and even our kin thought it would not last; but as the years passed by, they shut up.

If you fuss in your marriage, you must repent and not do it anymore because you are going to miss the Rapture. The Lord says that two will be sleeping side by side, and one will be taken and the other left. Two will be working together, and one will be taken and the other left. I tell you, in that night there shall be two men in one bed; the one shall be taken, and the other shall be left. Two women shall be grinding together; the one shall be taken, and the other left (Luke 17:34,35). Do you want to be the one left when both of you could have gone? You cannot let anybody affect you, not even your own mate. You cannot allow anyone to hinder you in winning souls and in doing what God moves on you to do.

Jesus Brought Liberty

When Jesus said, To preach the acceptable year of the Lord, even many preachers do not know what He was talking about. He was talking about the year of Jubilee under grace. Every fiftieth year under the Law, all slaves went free and all debts were forgiven; but under grace, Jesus came preaching the acceptable year of the Lord, the year of Jubilee. Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest (Matthew 11:28).

That is a promise of God, but all of God’s promises are conditional. The Lord told me that His promises are just print on paper until we meet the conditions of the promises. Only then can they be ours. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness (I John 1:9). If you confess your sins with godly sorrow, He will forgive you; but you have to be as sorry for committing those sins as God is that you committed them. For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death (II Corinthians 7:10).

Where the Spirit of God is there is liberty, so enjoy that liberty. Don’t let yourself be entangled again with any bondage the Lord has delivered you from. The Bible says, Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage (Galatians 5:1). People may not backslide, but so many have become entangled again in their bondages. Then that bondage reached out and stole their joy, happiness, peace of mind and full assurance. It affected their vision and their ears; so the Lord couldn’t say what He wanted to say, and they couldn’t hear what the Spirit was saying.

You Must Live Free from Sin

Just as the Spirit of the Lord was upon Jesus, it is also upon His children. He hath anointed us with divinity—divine love, peace, joy, hope, patience, faith, gentleness, goodness and temperance, which means self-control. Some people say they cannot help losing their temper. If you are one of them, you need to get saved because you are not really saved. I stopped losing my temper when I got saved. I did not think a child of God was supposed to lose control of self.

After I got saved, I lived with God; and I knew you had to live free from sin. Before my mother and dad found Pentecost, they were in a denomination that declared nobody could live free from sin; but they didn’t believe that, and that was one reason why they left.

The Bible teaches that you can backslide, but so many believe “once in grace always in grace.” I do believe that, but I believe it this way: Get in grace and stay in grace. When you get saved, you have to stay saved; but as I said, you can backslide. The Bible says, Judas by transgression fell (Acts 1:25). Judas was one of the original twelve disciples; and at one time, he had power to cast out devils and to heal the sick. These twelve Jesus sent forth, and commanded them, saying…Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give (Matthew 10:5,8). However, Judas backslid and betrayed Christ, and then he killed himself. He is in hell today—how awful!

We must show people a more excellent way, not by fighting them or what they believe but with love. The Bible teaches speaking the truth in love (Ephesians 4:15), and that is the way I teach.

We are preaching deliverance, the year of Jubilee, that people can be free. We tell them they do not have to be afraid of witchdoctors, even though witchdoctors can and do kill people; and it is lawful. In South Africa, witchdoctors are permitted to be in the operating room when people are having surgery. We do not know all that goes on around the world, but it is no wonder that the Lord has had just about enough of it.

I dealt with a witchdoctor in Uganda who did not know how many people he had killed. He had sacrificed his prettiest daughter to the devil because he was possessed by thousands of devils. Then the Lord gloriously saved him, but the devils took over his son.

When I went to Uganda, that former witchdoctor was one of the cooperating pastors for my crusade; but his ten-year-old son was just wild with devils. When I got to the service grounds, there were at least four men trying to restrain him; and it was amazing to see how strong those devils had made him. I told the men to turn him loose, and then I took authority over those devils; and they went out of him. That boy stood before me just as calm as he could be. His father told me that for years, the boy had about driven him and his family crazy; they had never had any peace. When I talked to him later, he let me know that they had peace at last.

Just Like Jesus

Jesus has anointed us to do the things He did, to be just like Him; and I seek to be just like Jesus. When I do not have the answer in a situation, I stop and say, “What would Jesus do?” Then the Holy Spirit will let me know what Jesus would do. When people talk to me, if I do not have the answer for them, I think, “What would Jesus say?” Then the Holy Spirit tells me exactly what Jesus would say or do. If I am ministering to people in the healing line, the angel who stands by my side in every service will give me the answer.

All the honor goes to God. I have no ego whatsoever, and I have never robbed God of any of His glory. I never would have asked Him for one of the nine gifts of the Spirit because I thought it was marvelous enough that He gave me the baptism of the Holy Ghost and that the Holy Ghost would sing and preach through me.

One time, I preached a whole sermon in Hebrew. I had never studied Hebrew, but a man who had studied it was in the audience; and God had him there on purpose. He could hardly wait for the service to end; and when it did, he rushed to the pastor who was sponsoring my revival and said, “Does that young preacher know Hebrew?” I had not even been to theological school at that time; and the pastor answered, “I am sure he does not.” Then the man said, “Tonight, he preached the whole sermon in Hebrew.” That message shook the place. There might have been only two or three people left in the whole congregation who did not flock to the altar. The saints were crying out to God, and it was just as if He had come down.

All of this is real, but the Lord divides the gifts of the Holy Ghost as He desires. For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit; To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit; To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues: But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will (I Corinthians 12:8-11).

The nine fruits of the Spirit are different from the gifts. Everybody is to let them be produced in their soul by the Holy Ghost. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance (Galatians 5:22,23). You must have the Holy Spirit living and dwelling on the inside of you if you want to have the nine fruits of the Spirit. They give you control over self. They give you a spirit like Jesus had so you can walk like Him, talk like Him and live like Him; and so you can believe in miracles.

Divine Miracles Are Real

I was taught faith in my home, and we had marvelous miracles that could not have been an accident. I received a great miracle at a young age for what I believe was cancer of the bone. We did not have the money to go to doctors, but it felt like a wild animal was gnawing on the main bone of my leg. It was driving me mad because it went on hour after hour, and I could not stop it. Only God knows how much I suffered, but Mama kept telling me that God was going to heal me. Sometimes, I would cry all the night through; but Mama never left me. She would open the Bible and lay it on me saying, “Honey, God is going to heal you.” Mama had never lied to me, so I knew it would come; but when? I could not play like the other kids in grade school because I could not stand for anybody to touch that leg. Then the miracle came just like Mama had said it would—no more crying at night and no more pain.

I went to death’s door at twenty-three years of age and thought for sure I was going to die. I was getting worse, and so many of my organs were becoming afflicted. I did not want to die; I wanted to live. I had just started preaching at eighteen; and I asked, “God, why will you let me die?” But for the first time, God was not answering me. Then He came one night and healed me all over; and He lingered to talk with me saying, “Later, you will go on a long fast; and when you come out of that fast, you will have my healing for the people.” I knew I was going to live; I had not one doubt. Death left me immediately, and I was free of that awful monster that was taking my life.

After the Lord had visited me that night, I had a great crusade that lasted six weeks; and then the Lord moved on me to get off to myself with Angel and go on the long fast He had told me about. It was a water fast; and when I came out of it, Angel asked me, “Honey, do you have that power?” I said, “Yes, I have it.” I had not yet tried it out, but I was anxious to get to our next crusade. I did not tell the people that God’s gifts would be working, but I knew they would be.

The first person I remember praying for in that revival was a woman on crutches; and when I touched her, she was instantly healed. She dropped her crutches and fell in the Spirit like she was dead; and when she got up, she was whole. She left her crutches in the building for the rest of the revival as a testimony, and she did not have to use them anymore.

Some people are so careless, and they say they have one of God’s gifts when they do not. When somebody comes into my church and says he has the gift of discerning, I don’t believe it. I have been around some wonderful laypeople, but I have never seen a layperson with the gift of discerning. Some have claimed to have it, but they did not produce.

The Anointing Breaks the Yokes

And the yoke shall be destroyed because of the anointing (Isaiah 10:27). I like that scripture, and II Corinthians 3:17 explains it: Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. The presence of the Lord is the anointing; and where the presence of the Lord is, there is liberty for the children of God. Liberty belongs to us, but the devil will do everything he can to keep us in bondage.

Anything that affects the body or the soul in any way is a bondage, and that means sickness is bondage. Did Jesus not say, And ought not this woman, being a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan hath bound, lo, these eighteen years, be loosed from this bond on the sabbath day (Luke 13:16)? Today, we would call her affliction arthritis, but Jesus called it devil bondage; and then He delivered her.

If sickness is a love token from the Lord like some preachers and so-called Christians claim, then the Lord would have said, “You blessed Lamb, you have had something glorious from the Lord for eighteen years; don’t let it get away.” How would you have felt if you had been bound with arthritis for eighteen years and someone told you that you had a blessed gift from the Lord? I would not have thought that the person had real kinship with the Lord or that he was a messenger from God. When I was afflicted, I knew it came from the devil. I knew God was a God of love and not a God of hate.

We need to wake up to what we can have so the yokes can be destroyed. The Bible declares that Jesus came to destroy the works of the devil. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil (I John 3:8). Sin and sickness are of the devil, and Jesus came to destroy all of that; so we just have to put those things under the blood and let them be destroyed in our own lives. The Lord gave us victory over everything, but you have to accept that victory.

God told the Israelites that He had given them all the land of Canaan, but they would have to claim it. Every place that the sole of your foot shall tread upon, that have I given unto you, as I said unto Moses (Joshua 1:3). The Lord has given us so many benefits, but you have to set your foot on them and claim them.

Complete in Christ

The Lord hath anointed us with the love that took Him to the whipping post. But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed (Isaiah 53:5). That means we are healed of everything that affects us in spirit, mind or body; it all comes from the whipping post.

The Lord has anointed us with the love that took Him to Calvary, and He carried the Cross of death. I wrote this down as the Lord dictated it to me, and He called it the Cross of death; but then He turned it into a glorious Cross of life for us. What a price Jesus paid, and He is ours. All that He paid for belongs to each child of God no matter what the devil says; so it is time to step forward and say, “This is mine, and I will use it!”

God’s love has all the power of Heaven, all the power of deliverance and all the power of gracious living in it. It has all the life, peace, joy and greatness we need. Jesus said, I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly (John 10:10).

The Lord told me He brought healing for soul, mind and body; so we are complete in Jesus Christ. And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power (Colossians 2:10). Everything God tells me is backed up with the Holy Bible, and I give scripture for everything I teach because the Word is paramount. The Lord told me in a great, divine visitation in 1954 that my safety would be in the Word. Every manifestation that I did not understand was to be taken to the Word of God; and if it did not stand the Word test, I was to throw it out.

It is so terrible when people are out of order in God’s services. God lets me look into their souls just like you look at your hand, and some of those souls look like old, dried-out stumps; there is no life in them. When I see such a soul, I cannot get over it. I will see it for days, weeks and months, always going back to that person whose soul is full of damnation and black with sin.

How Are We Anointed?

The Lord told me to use the blood like Abel did. Unlike Cain, Abel sacrificed with the blood; and God accepted him and his offering. Abel was a keeper of sheep, but Cain was a tiller of the ground. And in process of time it came to pass, that Cain brought of the fruit of the ground an offering unto the LORD. And Abel, he also brought of the firstlings of his flock and of the fat thereof. And the LORD had respect unto Abel and to his offering: But unto Cain and to his offering he had not respect (Genesis 4:2-5).

God hath anointed us with the anointing that Enoch had, so we will be translated just like Enoch was. By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God (Hebrews 11:5). No other members of Enoch’s family were translated, but Enoch was changed in a moment just as we will be. Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed (I Corinthians 15:51,52).

We are anointed with faith to praise the Lord and to please Him. But without faith it is impossible to please him; for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him (Hebrews 11:6). You have to believe that with all of your heart and know that without faith, you cannot please God.

Separate from the Ungodly

God has anointed us to leave behind the family and friends we had in the world and to go forth to walk like Jesus. Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature (Mark 16:15). You have to put everybody on the altar. Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword. For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law. And a man’s foes shall be they of his own household (Matthew 10:34-36). Some people do not like it when I talk about their family, but I left those in my family who would not believe; and you can do whatever you want to. You do not have to do these things, but you do if you want to please God.

The Bible tells us not to be unequally yoked with unbelievers because that is bondage. Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness (II Corinthians 6:14)? “Yoked” means “joined together,” and we are unequally yoked when we are joined together with anything that is unlike God. That is not what He planned. He doesn’t want you to marry an unbeliever because that is being unequally yoked. You are not equal; and in marriage, both partners are to be equal.

Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father’s house, unto a land that I will shew thee: And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing (Genesis 12:1,2). He was saying, “Abraham, go the way I tell you to go, and I will bless you and make you a blessing.”

For he [Abraham] looked for a city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker is God (Hebrews 11:10). The Lord told Abraham about the city whose builder and maker is God, so he started out looking for that city and found it.

These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off, and were persuaded of them, and embraced them, and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth (Hebrews 11:13). As children of God, we confess that we are pilgrims in a strange land here on planet Earth. We are just passing through, and this old world is not our home. We have a heavenly home that the Lord has prepared for us; and soon, we are going to move up there.

With obedient people of faith, God is not ashamed to be called their God. They desire a better country, that is, an heavenly: wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God: for he hath prepared for them a city (Hebrews 11:16).

Sacrifice Self

We are anointed like Abraham. By faith Abraham, when he was tried, offered up Isaac; and he that had received the promises offered up his only begotten son, Of whom it was said, That in Isaac shall thy seed be called: Accounting that God was able to raise him up, even from the dead; from whence also he received him in a figure (Hebrews 11:17-19). Abraham was anointed to offer up Isaac, and the Lord told me that we are anointed to offer up self; but many people have not done that. Even many preachers won’t offer themselves to God because they are selfish, and they are not concerned about going after souls.

I live for souls, not for money. I bank with Heaven’s bank like Jesus told us to do. Lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also (Matthew 6:20,21).

I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service (Romans 12:1). To sacrifice daily is just our reasonable service. We must follow in His steps, and the devil has never been able to erase Jesus’ steps because they were blood steps. You must walk with Him and wear His shoes, and there is a pair of “Jesus shoes” to fit everybody who will really live holy.

We have to take on the holiness of God and the blood, and God has anointed us to accept the divine blood. He has anointed us with the wisdom and knowledge to know how to use it, and we must use it.

Anointed Like Saints of Old

The Lord said that we have the same anointing that Moses had. He refused to be called the child of sin, the child of Pharaoh’s daughter. Moses chose to suffer affliction with the children of God rather than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season. By faith Moses, when he was come to years, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter; Choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season; Esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt: for he had respect unto the recompence of the reward (Hebrews 11:24-26). No doubt, Moses could have been the ruler of Egypt; but just think of all the thousands of years that Moses has spent enjoying Heaven instead.

The Lord reminded me that we have passed through the Red Sea—the sea of salvation—and we have the pillar of fire from Heaven protecting us. Salvation became ours, and the Holy Ghost baptism is the fire from On High that John the Baptist talked about. I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire (Matthew 3:11).

The great prophet Isaiah did not want to go to the house of Israel as the Lord wanted him to because he said, “They are a rebellious house, and they will not believe.” Then the Lord sent to him an angel with a coal of fire from the altar of God, and that was the fire of the Holy Ghost. Then flew one of the seraphims unto me, having a live coal in his hand, which he had taken with the tongs from off the altar: And he laid it upon my mouth, and said, Lo, this hath touched thy lips; and thine iniquity is taken away, and thy sin purged (Isaiah 6:6,7). That coal gave Isaiah a tongue of fire; and he cried out, Here am I; send me (Isaiah 6:8). In other words, “Lord, do not send anybody else; I will go.”

Victory over Self

We are anointed like Joshua was to tear down the walls of Jericho, and they came down through faith. Joshua had commanded the people, saying, Ye shall not shout, nor make any noise with your voice, neither shall any word proceed out of your mouth, until the day I bid you shout; then shall ye shout. And it came to pass at the seventh time, when the priests blew with the trumpets, Joshua said unto the people, Shout; for the LORD hath given you the city. So the people shouted when the priests blew with the trumpets: and it came to pass, when the people heard the sound of the trumpet, and the people shouted with a great shout, that the wall fell down flat, so that the people went up into the city, every man straight before him, and they took the city (Joshua 6:10,16,20).

To have victory and keep it, you must keep your mouth shut and never speak idle words. Do not try to give people advice. I would prefer not to have to give people advice; but when I do, I make sure I give them godly advice. It is up to them if they do not accept it.

Some people want me to get an answer from God for them; but when it does not fit what they want, they will resent it and pout. Those who pout think, “Poor me; somebody notice me. I have been hurt!” Some of you need to get hurt, and God wills it to be. The best cure for pouters is to ignore them. Just be happy every time you are around them and act like you do not notice their pouting.

Sometimes, God has to drag us to the Potter’s house; and we all have had to go there at one time or another. The Bible says that if you do not accept God’s discipline, you are not His child. If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not? But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons (Hebrews 12:7,8).

Trust in the Lord

We are to have no fear; so if fear takes you over, you have to get rid of it. Perfect love destroys fear, and only God’s love is perfect. There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear (I John 4:18). Job said, For the thing which I greatly feared is come upon me, and that which I was afraid of is come unto me (Job 3:25). Job lost everything. He had feared it would happen one day, and it did; but Job said, Though he slay me, yet will I trust in him (Job 13:15).

Job has meant so much to me, and he is the one the Lord used to bring me in when I was contending for the faith that was once delivered to the saints. Ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints (Jude 1:3). You should never contend for that faith unless you are willing to give your life. I told the Lord I would give my life if that was what it would take; I was not going to back down. Then all hell came against me just like it had when I had received the gift of discerning of spirits.

There is one great price to pay to receive God’s gifts, and there are very few preachers who will pay that price. You have to put your life in God’s hands and keep it there. You have to want souls above everything else, and you cannot have your mind on money.

I never ask God for money for myself because He said He would supply my needs. But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:19). I had been preaching for over fifty years before I thought, “God, when you called me, you never promised me even a nickel or a dime.” God had called me to win souls, to preach the Gospel and to stand for the truth. He had called me to preach the Holy Ghost to people; and although some preachers really fought me on it, I did not care. The more people fight me, the more the Lord uses me to preach what they are fighting against.

You will have to have the Holy Ghost to make the Rapture; the Lord has told me that three different times. The first time was when I had just received the gift of discerning of spirits. I was preaching to a packed house; and the Lord took me over and said, “Everyone who wants to be changed and go in the Rapture will have to have the Holy Ghost baptism.” He did not mean that you would need it to go the way of the grave but to make the Rapture, and I was thrilled when the Lord let me know that.

Power from On High

Samson was such a disappointment to me and to God; but at one time, he had been a powerhouse for God. We are anointed with that same great power to go against the roaring lions of the devil, which are demons trying to destroy us. Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour (I Peter 5:8).

Samson had that power when he took the jawbone of an animal and killed a thousand soldiers of the enemies of God. And he [Samson] found a new jawbone of an ass, and put forth his hand, and took it, and slew a thousand men therewith (Judges 15:15). The Philistines really feared Samson, but then he sold out to the flesh. The Philistines got hold of him and gouged out his eyes, but he finally did get back to God. At the end of his life, he killed more of the enemies of God than he had killed during all of his years on Earth. Whenever you fail God, you are in trouble.

Now the house was full of men and women; and all the lords of the Philistines were there; and there were upon the roof about three thousand men and women, that beheld while Samson made sport. And Samson called unto the LORD, and said, O Lord GOD, remember me, I pray thee, and strengthen me, I pray thee, only this once, O God, that I may be at once avenged of the Philistines for my two eyes. And Samson took hold of the two middle pillars upon which the house stood, and on which it was borne up, of the one with his right hand, and of the other with his left. And Samson said, Let me die with the Philistines. And he bowed himself with all his might; and the house fell upon the lords, and upon all the people that were therein. So the dead which he slew at his death were more than they which he slew in his life (Judges 16:27-30).

Stand for the Truth

The anointing of the Lord that Daniel had is upon us, and the lions cannot destroy us. Then the king arose very early in the morning, and went in haste unto the den of lions. And when he came to the den, he cried with a lamentable voice unto Daniel: and the king spake and said to Daniel, O Daniel, servant of the living God, is thy God, whom thou servest continually, able to deliver thee from the lions? Then said Daniel unto the king, O king, live forever. My God hath sent his angel, and hath shut the lions’ mouths, that they have not hurt me: forasmuch as before him innocency was found in me; and also before thee, O king, have I done no hurt (Daniel 6:19-22).

We have the anointing that the Hebrew boys had when they were cast into the fiery furnace, and the fire will not burn us. And these three men, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, fell down bound into the midst of the burning fiery furnace (Daniel 3:23). Although the king had ordered the furnace to be heated hotter than ever before, not one hair on the boys’ bodies was even singed. Then Nebuchadnezzar spake, and said, Blessed be the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, who hath sent his angel, and delivered his servants that trusted in him, and have changed the king’s word, and yielded their bodies, that they might not serve nor worship any god, except their own God (Daniel 3:28). We will not bow to the devil, and we will not burn. That is so glorious!

The Lord was with all of those saints and prophets, and we have God with us all the time in our furnace of life and in the lions’ den. Many of us are living just like Jesus; and because of that, thousands will come into the ark in this final hour, saith the Lord.

It is time to move. It is time to take every anointing of God you can get and hold on to each one. I resent it when people and even preachers will not take the anointings of God.

David Was Called of God

The Lord brought David to my mind, the little shepherd boy and the sweet Psalmist. The Lord gave him the Psalms; He gave him the lyrics and the power to sing them in the Spirit. The Lord told Samuel to go to Jesse’s house and anoint someone to be king in Saul’s place, but Samuel did not know it would be a little shepherd boy. Jesse had a number of boys, so the tallest one came in first; but when Samuel rose up to anoint him, the Lord said, Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have refused him: for the LORD seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the LORD looketh on the heart…Jesse made seven of his sons to pass before Samuel. And Samuel said unto Jesse, The LORD hath not chosen these (I Samuel 16:7,10).

No one had called the youngest son; they didn’t think God would anoint a child to be king, but you don’t know God if you think He leaves children out. Jesus said, Suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God (Mark 10:14). Jesus loved the children, and He healed them. He wanted them to grow up to bless His Kingdom and honor Him, and I am sure many of those He touched did.

Then Samuel said unto Jesse, Are here all thy children? And he said, There remaineth yet the youngest, and, behold, he keepeth the sheep. And Samuel said unto Jesse, Send and fetch him: for we will not sit down till he come hither. And he sent, and brought him in. Now he was ruddy, and withal of a beautiful countenance, and goodly to look to. And the LORD said, Arise, anoint him: for this is he. Then Samuel took the horn of oil, and anointed him in the midst of his brethren: and the Spirit of the LORD came upon David from that day forward (I Samuel 16:11-13). With all God’s power, Samuel poured the anointing oil upon David. The Lord has poured His anointing oil upon His true people in this final hour, too; and we must use it!

Later, David killed a bear and a lion with a slingshot; and then he picked up five little stones, representing J-E-S-U-S, and went happily forth to kill Goliath. Then said David to the Philistine, Thou comest to me with a sword, and with a spear, and with a shield: but I come to thee in the name of the LORD of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom thou hast defied. And it came to pass, when the Philistine arose, and came and drew nigh to meet David, that David hasted, and ran toward the army to meet the Philistine. And David put his hand in his bag, and took thence a stone, and slang it, and smote the Philistine in his forehead, that the stone sunk into his forehead; and he fell upon his face to the earth. So David prevailed over the Philistine with a sling and with a stone, and smote the Philistine, and slew him (I Samuel 17:45,48-50).

David did not take a sword or a spear with him; he used just one small stone to kill mighty Goliath. Then he chopped off Goliath’s head with the giant’s own sword and took it back to King Saul. However, after all of his victories, David later failed because of the flesh. He lost his power and then committed murder to cover up his sin. It is terrible to have confidence in somebody and then see that person fall by the wayside; but thank God, David did get back to the Lord.

Samuel Never Failed

Samuel had such an anointing that the Lord talked to him when he was just young. Hannah had prayed for a son, and the name “Samuel” means “asked of God.” She had promised the Lord that she would give her son to Him, and she was so careful to keep her vow. When you make God a promise, you had better keep it. God said it is better not to make a vow to Him than to make one and not keep it. When thou vowest a vow unto God, defer not to pay it; for he hath no pleasure in fools: pay that which thou hast vowed. Better is it that thou shouldest not vow, than that thou shouldest vow and not pay (Ecclesiastes 5:4,5). When Hannah weaned Samuel, she took him to Jerusalem and left him there with Eli the priest just as she had promised.

The time came when God no longer talked to Eli. Eli knew his sons were in whoredom, but he did nothing about it. One night, Samuel went to Eli because he thought Eli was calling him; but Eli perceived that the LORD had called the child. Therefore Eli said unto Samuel, Go, lie down: and it shall be, if he call thee, that thou shalt say, Speak, LORD; for thy servant heareth. So Samuel went and lay down in his place. And the LORD came, and stood, and called as at other times, Samuel, Samuel. Then Samuel answered, Speak; for thy servant heareth. And the LORD said to Samuel, Behold, I will do a thing in Israel, at which both the ears of every one that heareth it shall tingle. In that day I will perform against Eli all things which I have spoken concerning his house: when I begin, I will also make an end. For I have told him that I will judge his house forever for the iniquity which he knoweth; because his sons made themselves vile, and he restrained them not (I Samuel 3:8-13). It was terrible how Eli died, but Samuel never failed God.

Live by Faith

The eleventh chapter of Hebrews is the faith chapter, and you cannot read that chapter with a sincere heart and not take on more faith. It describes the saints of God who put their lives on the line. Who through faith subdued kingdoms, wrought righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions (Hebrews 11:33). The Lord told me that we have the same anointings today.

Quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, out of weakness were made strong, waxed valiant in fight, turned to flight the armies of the aliens. Women received their dead raised to life again: and others were tortured, not accepting deliverance; that they might obtain a better resurrection (Hebrews 11:34,35). The anointings gave the saints of God vision, and they will give you vision, too, so that you are willing to make any sacrifice to bring in souls.

God told Noah to build an ark, but He told me that we are not to build the ark. Jesus is our ark, and we are to build His Kingdom. He has given us the anointing to build His Kingdom throughout the whole Earth. We have to blow the Gospel trumpet for the world to hear, to shake this old Earth one more time and to shake the heavens also. The Lord said He would do it, and then the end would come. He hath promised, saying, Yet once more I shake not the earth only, but also heaven (Hebrews 12:26).

And others had trial of cruel mockings and scourgings, yea, moreover of bonds and imprisonment: They were stoned, they were sawn asunder, were tempted, were slain with the sword: they wandered about in sheepskins and goatskins; being destitute, afflicted, tormented (Hebrews 11:36,37). The saints would disguise themselves with skins so their enemies would think they were wild animals on the hillsides looking for food. They were slain in the arenas, burned at the stake and fed to wild animals, all for the sake of Christ. Of whom the world was not worthy (Hebrews 11:38). That was the way God felt about them.

Nero chopped off Paul’s head, but Paul won; and Nero is in hell today. Paul said to Timothy, his son in the Lord, I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing (II Timothy 4:6-8). There is a crown of life waiting for all who will live godly in Christ Jesus.

You Must Be Born Again

Take God’s great anointing today; but if you are unsaved, come to Jesus—that is the first step. Say this prayer right now: Oh, God, save my soul! I am so sorry that I sinned against you, but I have come home. I will serve you, Lord, for the rest of my life. You have always been good to me and loved me, and now I have come home to never go back into the night again. I am all yours, Lord, and I believe that your divine blood washes away all of my sins! Come into my heart, Jesus. Come on in! If you meant that prayer, He has come. You are now born new, a son or a daughter of the Lord.

Be Healed through the Blood

Now, you qualify for physical healing. Get ready because it is time for you to be healed if you are going to really serve God. Lord, here they are. I curse the AIDS in the bodies of the people today. Heal those with cancer, heart trouble, lung trouble, diabetes and strokes. Heal the little children, those who have been born deformed or with just part of a brain. You have done so much of that, Lord, and you have given them a whole brain. Heal! in the all-powerful name of Jesus. Heal!

Get well and write and tell me about it. You who had AIDS, get a report from your doctor that there is no more AIDS. We are documenting the AIDS cases, and we have so many documented already. There is no cure for AIDS, only through God. He has given that cure to me, and He is offering it to people today through the divine blood. The blood cures everything.

God be with you is my prayer. Go and sin no more, lest a worse thing come unto thee (John 5:14). Serve the Lord and get well. God bless.

Thus Saith the Lord

I am here, saith the Lord. I am here to give you a great anointing. This anointing is to make you well; this anointing is to keep you well. This is the anointing that will make you just like Jesus. You are sons and daughters of mine, saith the Lord. I am here; I am here; I am here.
