God’s Love Works Miracles

There is nothing greater than God’s divine love; it is the answer for everything. It takes hope and turns it into miracle reality. After Adam and Eve sinned, mankind needed a divine Savior who could bring us all the greatness of Heaven; so God gave us Jesus, and everyone can find Him through God’s amazing grace and love. When He was here, He was always ready to reveal His love by saving, delivering and healing people.
Jesus said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind (Matthew 22:37). You must never let anybody rob you of that love. Jesus went on to say, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself (Matthew 22:39). Jesus let the people know that all He and His Father had ever said hung on those two commandments.
In the Old Testament, God gave the people His Law. Thou shalt have no other gods before me…Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image…Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain…Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy…Honour thy father and thy mother…Thou shalt not kill…Thou shalt not commit adultery…Thou shalt not steal…Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour…Thou shalt not covet (Exodus 20:3,4,7,8,12,13-17).
The Ten Commandments included many “thou shall nots”, but at the core of those commandments was love. God gave them in love; and if you love Him, you will obey them. Jesus said, He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him (John 14:21).
If you don’t have divine love, it will be impossible for you to obey God’s commandments because self cannot fulfill God’s laws nor does it want to. However, love delights in obeying all of God’s righteous commands. The Law was demanding, but love is grace; and it took the place of the Law. That is why Paul said, Love is the fulfilling of the law (Romans 13:10). Jesus was love in perfection; and He said, Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil (Matthew 5:17).
Love Worketh No Ill
Paul said, Love worketh no ill to his neighbour (Romans 13:10). “To work ill” means to have evil intentions or to do something that is unjust, harmful or cruel. Love abhors evil. Let love be without dissimulation [hypocrisy]. Abhor that which is evil; cleave [cling] to that which is good (Romans 12:9).
Love sacrifices and freely gives, and you can see that in the greatest act of love that was ever performed. For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved (John 3:16,17). God proved His love to mankind when He sent His Son to die on the Cross, and we would have nothing without divine love.
Jesus did not come to condemn the world as some people think. He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth [meaning to continue to believe] not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God (John 3:18). Rejecting God’s love is what brings condemnation.
Adam and Eve sold everything to the devil, but Jesus came to buy it all back for us; and that is why there is a Heaven we can choose to go to today. The Lord hands out His salvation plan to everyone; and if you accept it and treat it right, you will be all right. However, if you reject it, you will be headed for destruction.
Show Love to Others
When you have divine love, you will love one another. Jesus said, A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another (John 13:34). If you do not have that kind of love, you must pray and fast until you do; and then you have to keep that love bubbling. Jesus said, For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same? And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others? do not even the publicans [meaning sinners] so? Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect (Matthew 5:46-48).
Jesus said that loving others is a sign to the world that a person is His disciple. By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another (John 13:35). Never argue or fight with your brothers and sisters in Christ or refuse to talk to them because the Lord does not approve of that. You may say that you are just doing to them what they did to you, but do you want to be like them? If you think they are lacking love, neglecting prayer or are impatient and careless, do you want to be like that? We are to be just like Jesus; and when you are not, that can hinder you from receiving God’s best from Heaven.
The Bible says, Owe no man anything, but to love one another (Romans 13:8). Some people have interpreted this to mean that you cannot owe anybody money and still go to Heaven, but that is foolish. You have to properly divide the Word of truth, and this verse means we are not to owe anyone anything pertaining to divine love.
Jesus came to lay down His life for others. Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he [Jesus] laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren (I John 3:16). We must love others like Jesus did. Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends (John 15:13).
Jesus was the Son of God, yet He was meek and lowly. His great love for us moved Him to humble Himself, take on the fashion of a man and come to Earth to be our Redeemer. For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich (II Corinthians 8:9). Jesus became a pauper to make us rich.
Jesus told us that we should even love our enemies. Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy. But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you (Matthew 5:43,44).
This confuses many people, and they think they have to cater to their family and friends no matter how they act or how they treat them; but that is not true. We are to love our enemies’ souls; but we don’t have to love their ways, voluntarily socialize with them or have close relationships with them. If you do, then you are showing others that you agree with them. The Bible says, Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness (II Corinthians 6:14)?
Separate from Wrong Spirits
The Bible teaches separation, and the first separation took place when God put Adam and Eve out of Eden for committing one sin. So he [God] drove out the man; and he placed at the east of the garden of Eden Cherubims [angels], and a flaming sword which turned every way, to keep the way of the tree of life (Genesis 3:24). If they had eaten of the Tree of Life, they would still be alive today and living in their sinful state; so God had to prevent them from getting to it.
Jesus taught separation; and He said, Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword. For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law. And a man’s foes shall be they of his own household. He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me (Matthew 10:34-37). At special times such as Christmas and Easter, some of you put your unsaved family members ahead of God. You feel obligated to be with them instead of gathering together with God’s people in His house, and He is not pleased.
You do not have to be with those who curse and have sinful ways, those who do not respect your church, your salvation or the Holy Ghost. I don’t purposely go around my family members who are against God; I just put them under the blood and leave them alone.
You are asking for confusion and double-mindedness when you hang around with sinners. A double-minded man is unstable in all his ways (James 1:8). If people who know the truth refuse to change, they will wake up in hell one day; and it will be their own fault.
You cannot allow your human feelings and emotions to control you. You must yield to the Lord, and His anointing will give you the courage to love the right way; and sometimes that requires tough love that will take an uncompromising stand.
Jesus loved God’s temple in Jerusalem; and when sinners disrespected it, He took a tough stand against them. And Jesus went into the temple of God, and cast out all them that sold and bought in the temple, and overthrew the tables of the moneychangers, and the seats of them that sold doves, And said unto them, It is written, My house shall be called the house of prayer; but ye have made it a den of thieves (Matthew 21:12,13). Jesus did not try to smooth things over with those people after He had chased them out.
Never Associate with the Devil
Paul made some strong statements about separation. And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel? And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols?…Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you (II Corinthians 6:15-17).
You may have to separate from some people who call themselves your brothers and sisters in the Lord if they do not live right. But now I have written unto you not to keep company, if any man that is called a brother be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolater, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; with such an one no not to eat…Therefore put away from among yourselves that wicked person (I Corinthians 5:11,13). It may be necessary to speak to such people from time to time, but do not associate with them.
Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God (James 4:4). You can never go against what God’s Bible tells you to do, even if you think you are doing what is right. If you willingly associate with those whom God said not to and refuse to take your stand for Jesus, you are turning against His holiness and truth; and His anointing will not go with you. You are not obligated to family, friends or anyone else who has failed God; and you don’t owe them anything.
Paul told the people what to do when someone among them had done wrong. When ye are gathered together, and my spirit, with the power of our Lord Jesus Christ, To deliver such an one unto Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that the spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus (I Corinthians 5:4,5). He was explaining that it can wake people up when you refuse to associate with them and will not allow them to take part in the activities of the church or to participate in family functions. It may cause them to get right with God while He is still moving and trying to draw people to Him. Jesus plainly said that people must be drawn to Him by the Spirit of God. No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him (John 6:44).
What Is God’s Love?
The Bible tells us that we are nothing without God’s love. Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity [love], I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal. And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing. And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing (I Corinthians 13:1-3).
In the Bible, the word “charity” means love; and I Corinthians 13 is the love chapter—it explains God’s love. Charity suffereth long (I Corinthians 13:4). True love suffers all things, and God has been so longsuffering with mankind. But thou, O Lord, art a God full of compassion, and gracious, longsuffering, and plenteous in mercy and truth (Psalm 86:15).
In Noah’s day, God waited 120 years for an ark to be built that would save just eight souls; and God is still longsuffering today. He loves souls so much that He wants no one to die lost. The Lord is not slack concerning his promise [of coming again], as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance (II Peter 3:9). Love rescues the lost and dying; so if people go to hell, it is because they have sent themselves there.
[Love] is kind (I Corinthians 13:4). The Psalmist declared, For his merciful kindness is great toward us (Psalm 117:2). How excellent is thy lovingkindness, O God! therefore the children of men put their trust under the shadow of thy wings (Psalm 36:7). We have a loving refuge under the wings of the Lord where He takes care of us and protects us.
Jeremiah was known as the weeping prophet because he cried so many tears over the Israelites’ disobedience, their failures and their sinning against God; but God showed him His loving kindness. The LORD hath appeared of old unto me, saying, Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee (Jeremiah 31:3). God is the Most High God, and no power is greater than His.
Divine Love Does Not…
Charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up (I Corinthians 13:4). Divine love is not envious of anyone or anything, and it does not brag or have any ego. Those things can lead to pouting, and God hates pouting because it means you are in love with self. When someone hurts you, just think of what people did to Jesus, the divine Son of God. You must realize that God’s love is the best thing there is, and you don’t need anything else.
[Love] doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil (I Corinthians 13:5). God’s love never acts in a way that would be outside His standard of holiness. He has perfect holiness, so His people must be holy or they are not His. It is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy (I Peter 1:16).
There is nothing inappropriate or selfish about God’s love, and it always reaches out to others. Let no man seek his own, but every man another’s wealth (I Corinthians 10:24). God did not send His Only Begotten Son to die for sinners to please Himself; God’s love toward us is unselfish.
[Love] is not easily provoked (I Corinthians 13:5). God’s love can be provoked, but His longsuffering and grace can delay it. How many times has God’s love been patient with you? However, when you do provoke His love, you are in deep trouble. He will not use His love for you when you are disobedient, and that is what happened to the Israelites. Remember, and forget not, how thou [the Israelites] provokedst the LORD thy God to wrath in the wilderness: from the day that thou didst depart out of the land of Egypt, until ye came unto this place, ye have been rebellious against the LORD (Deuteronomy 9:7).
[Love] thinketh no evil (I Corinthians 13:5). God’s love does not think of doing evil things because His thoughts are always holy; but when people are not prayed up like they should be, they will suspect things about others that are not true. They may think that their mate has been unfaithful when he or she has not been, and God’s love does not do that.
God’s thoughts toward us are always wonderful. How precious also are thy thoughts unto me, O God! how great is the sum of them (Psalm 139:17)! The Psalmist was saying that his mind could not take in all the wealth of God’s thoughts toward him. Many, O LORD my God, are thy wonderful works which thou hast done, and thy thoughts which are to us-ward: they cannot be reckoned up in order unto thee: if I would declare and speak of them, they are more than can be numbered (Psalm 40:5). Not even God keeps up with all the many good thoughts He has toward us.
[Love] rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth (I Corinthians 13:6). God’s love does not rejoice in any type of sin, and that includes gossip. People who backbite and whisper about others hurt people, and they will never get into Heaven. Never speak or listen to gossip, and you must either hang up on or get away from those who do. They will realize you were right when the Rapture takes place, and you are gone.
The Bible says, He that is glad at calamities shall not be unpunished (Proverbs 17:5). Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted (Galatians 6:1). If God’s love cannot help a person, you can’t either no matter how hard you try. However, you must never kick a struggling person further down or put a stumbling block in a person’s way. Let us not therefore judge one another any more: but judge this rather, that no man put a stumblingblock or an occasion to fall in his brother’s way (Romans 14:13). You must never hinder people.
Love Does…
And above all things have fervent charity [or love] among yourselves: for charity shall cover the multitude of sins (I Peter 4:8). Jesus had so much love for sinners that He died for them, and divine love will give you that same compassion. However, God’s love will not work in those who sin; it will not mix with their sinful thoughts and actions.
[Love] beareth all things (I Corinthians 13:7). God’s love truly does bear all things, and Jesus proved that when He died on the Cross. But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed (Isaiah 53:5).
[Love] believeth all things (I Corinthians 13:7). That does not mean we are to believe all things no matter what they are; we are to believe all the things that Jesus represented and taught. Therefore, we must believe the Word, and we must believe it will accomplish all that it was sent forth to do. God said, So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void [empty], but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it (Isaiah 55:11). God gives His Word to us with love and greatness, so there is no lack of strength in it. The lack is in how people yield to that strength. God’s Word is powerful, so just think about all the things He could have done if people would have yielded to His love and His Word.
[Love] hopeth all things (I Corinthians 13:7). Divine hope hopes for things it cannot see, and it makes them living reality. Consider this example: If your mother invites you to dinner, you may hope she will make your favorite dish. When you arrive and see that she has, you don’t have to hope for it anymore; you believe it. That is the difference between hope and faith.
When you hope in God, you desire something with the expectation that God will fulfill all that He has promised through love. You will know that it is His hope, His desire and His expectation for all men and women to come into the reality and possession of all His promises. Divine love makes everything that God says believable and possible, including miracles, because God’s love is the strongest power in the world.
[Love] endureth all things (I Corinthians 13:7). Human love is weak and can only endure a limited amount, but God’s love endures all things. That is why human love must be mixed with divine love for it to be able to stand all the tests in life. God told me that it took all of His love for Him to endure the scene of His Son dying on that cruel Cross. Jesus, the once spotless Lamb of God, had taken upon Himself all the sins of mankind; and God had to turn away from that scene. He had to block out His Son crying, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me (Matthew 27:46)?
For consider him [Jesus] that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds (Hebrews 12:3). When you leave love out, you will faint in your mind.
You must have patience to be able to endure, and divine love gives you patience. It even takes patience to save your soul, and you can lose your soul by being impatient. The Bible says, In your patience possess ye your souls (Luke 21:19). You must seek to let love and the holy presence of God control you through the blood of Jesus and the power of the Holy Ghost. Charity [love] never faileth (I Corinthians 13:8). You can trust God’s love because it never fails. As for God, his way is perfect: the word of the LORD is tried: he is a buckler to all those that trust in him (Psalm 18:30). Failure comes from not taking advantage of the perfect love Jesus made available to everyone.
God Is Love
No one can have God’s love unless they believe it. And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him (I John 4:16). People who do not live in the love that comes from God’s throne do not dwell in Him, and they are deceived if they think they do. The Bible says, He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love (I John 4:8). But if any man love God, the same is known of him (I Corinthians 8:3). God knows people through their love and faith, and you will never know God without knowing His love.
Every path that leads to God is a path of love, and He will only dwell in those who love Him. Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him, and he in God. Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world (I John 4:15,17). If God is love, then so are we when we let Him dwell in us.
God’s love is worth more than all the silver and gold in the world, and this Earth would be like hell without His love. God has given mankind so much love; but most people have abused it, mistreated it and lied about it. Even so, His love for people is so great that He is not sorry for sending His Son to die on Calvary for us.
We must prove ourselves to be of God every day. Paul said, But in all things approving ourselves as the ministers of God, in much patience, in afflictions, in necessities, in distresses (II Corinthians 6:4). When you are under stress, don’t lose your temper unless you lose it at the devil. Paul went on to say, In stripes, in imprisonments, in tumults, in labours, in watchings, in fastings; By pureness, by knowledge, by longsuffering, by kindness, by the Holy Ghost, by love unfeigned (II Corinthians 6:5,6). Enduring all of that shows God’s love. Many people think they cannot possess such great love, but they can because Jesus made it possible. We love him, because he first loved us (I John 4:19).
Have No Fear
Fear takes over so many people today, but divine love casts out all tormenting fear. There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love (I John 4:18). The Bible says, Thou shalt fear the Lord thy God, and serve him (Deuteronomy 6:13). But the fear of God is not tormenting; it is a fear of honor, love and respect.
Tormenting fear cannot mix with perfect love, so get rid of it. Fear strikes all of us at times, but you must get rid of it right away and never let it get into you.
For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind (II Timothy 1:7). God has given us everything we need, and that does not include the spirit of fear. Jesus did not have fear; He had holy power, and He brought us all the power and love we will ever need.
Jesus brought us a sound mind like the one He had. Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus (Philippians 2:5). But we have the mind of Christ (I Corinthians 2:16). That same mind can be yours today. You must think like Jesus thought when He was here, walk like He walked, love like He loved and believe like He believed. Then you will always come out all right.
Fear can come from a lack of faith. When Jesus and the disciples were out on a boat in a bad storm, Jesus was sleeping; but the disciples were scared to death, so they woke Him up. Jesus simply calmed the sea; and then He said, Why are ye fearful, O ye of little faith (Matthew 8:26)? Jesus always called human faith “little faith” because it was weak; and He was asking the disciples, “Why did you doubt?”
God’s love can only dwell in you through faith. That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height (Ephesians 3:17,18). God’s love cannot be measured, and it will fill you with all the fullness of God. And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God (Ephesians 3:19). The love of Christ is greater than all the earthly knowledge you have ever received in school or anywhere else.
Divine love and faith work together, so you must use both. For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision availeth anything, nor uncircumcision; but faith which worketh by love (Galatians 5:6). It takes divine faith to understand God’s love; and without faith, there will be times when you will doubt His love. Sometimes people who have really suffered in their bodies will find themselves doubting God, but you must never do that.
The Word and the Spirit
The Word of God is full of God’s love, and there is nothing in the world like it. It is to be our study Book, our discipline, our roadmap to Heaven and the light for our paths. Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path (Psalm 119:105).
The Bible says, Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth (II Timothy 2:15). To rightly divide the truth means to understand what God is talking about; and if you don’t have that understanding, you can ask for it. If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him (James 1:5).
God’s love is full of life, wisdom and understanding; but you must have the Holy Ghost to be your teacher and guide. But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you (John 14:26).
Jesus was the teacher while He was here; but when He knew that He would soon be leaving the disciples, He said, I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you forever; Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you (John 14:16,17). The Holy Spirit will never leave you unless you grieve Him and force Him to leave. And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption (Ephesians 4:30).
You must have the Spirit and always yield to Him so He can shed abroad the love of God in your heart. And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us (Romans 5:5).
Divine love is vital to our lives, and we must keep it working through us. One of the seven churches mentioned in Revelation did not do that; and Jesus warned the people saying, I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love (Revelation 2:4).
If you let your love for God dwindle, you will not feel the necessity of giving all to Him. You may try to pretend that love is there, and you may think that no one will notice; but God will notice because He knows how true love should act. The Bible says, If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him (I John 2:15).
We are living in the last hour, and iniquity is abounding; but you must never let your love for God wax cold. And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold (Matthew 24:12). When a candle’s flame goes out, the wax hardens; so you can never let the flame of your love go out. The Bible says, But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved (Matthew 24:13). The end for children of God is Heaven if you stay fit and ready for the one flight out.
God Knows All
Divine love offers forgiveness and cleansing through the blood, but the Old Testament Law did not. It commanded that if a person was caught in adultery, they should be stoned. When Jesus was here, the scribes and Pharisees wanted to accuse Him; so they brought before Him a woman who had committed adultery and said, Master, this woman was taken in adultery, in the very act. Now Moses in the law commanded us, that such should be stoned: but what sayest thou? This they said, tempting him, that they might have to accuse him. But Jesus stooped down, and with his finger wrote on the ground, as though he heard them not. So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her (John 8:4-7).
I believe Jesus was writing the names of the whores those men had been with, and they all took off. And they which heard it, being convicted by their own conscience, went out one by one, beginning at the eldest, even unto the last: and Jesus was left alone, and the woman standing in the midst (John 8:9). God sees every speck of hypocrisy and deceit. You may be able to deceive yourself and others but never God.
When Jesus had lifted up himself, and saw none but the woman, he said unto her, Woman, where are those thine accusers? hath no man condemned thee? She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more (John 8:10,11). That woman knew she was about to be stoned, but she met a love that was greater than anything she had ever experienced.
Ananias and Sapphira tried to deceive God, but it did not work. A certain man named Ananias, with Sapphira his wife, sold a possession, And kept back part of the price, his wife also being privy to it, and brought a certain part, and laid it at the apostles’ feet (Acts 5:1,2). Ananias and his wife thought that since they had agreed on their plan and were private about it, all would be well. The Bible plainly says, Though hand join in hand, the wicked shall not be unpunished (Proverbs 11:21).
Many people today would not consider Ananias and Sapphira to have been wicked; and even some who claim to be Christians would excuse what they did and say it was not a big deal. However, Peter saw through them and said, Ananias, why hath Satan filled thine heart to lie to the Holy Ghost (Acts 5:3)? Ananias had not lied to Peter but to the Holy Ghost. The land was their possession, and no one had forced them to sell it; but Ananias and Sapphira kept back part of the money without saying so, and that was the lie.
Peter continued, Why hast thou conceived this thing in thine heart? thou hast not lied unto men, but unto God. And Ananias hearing these words fell down, and gave up the ghost (Acts 5:4,5).
About three hours later, Sapphira stood before Peter; and he said to her, Tell me whether ye sold the land for so much? And she said, Yea, for so much. Then Peter said unto her, How is it that ye have agreed together to tempt the Spirit of the Lord? behold, the feet of them which have buried thy husband are at the door, and shall carry thee out. Then fell she down straightway at his feet, and yielded up the ghost (Acts 5:8-10).
Divine Rest
God’s love takes our burdens and brings rest. Jesus said, Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls (Matthew 11:28,29). You fail when you do not take your burdens to the Lord because it means you don’t have enough love and faith to trust Him. You are trusting in people more than you are trusting in God; but the Bible says, Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths (Proverbs 3:5,6).
Close your eyes for a moment and let the Lord bathe your soul and your spirit in His love, faith, strength and power. It is such a restful spirit; and if you will begin to do that for a few minutes each day, you will be amazed at what it will do for you spiritually. Don’t think about all your problems or about all the people you owe; just relax and think about all that is within your reach from Heaven. It will soothe every nerve, put everything into place for you and turn your sorrows into great rejoicing. It will free you of your heavy burden, and you must never go back to pick it up.
Divine rest brings great peace, so stop battling and just relax in the love of God. The Bible says, Be still, and know that I am God (Psalm 46:10). And Jesus said, Come and dine (John 21:12); but how many times has He said that to you when you did not take the time to eat the spiritual food that He had prepared? When your nerves are on edge, you are not what you need to be to dine at the Lord’s table.
There was a time when Elijah failed to rest in the Lord, and it put him in bad shape. Jezebel wanted to kill him because he had killed 400 prophets of Baal; so he fled into the wilderness and fell down under a juniper tree saying, It is enough; now, O LORD, take away my life; for I am not better than my fathers (I Kings 19:4). The devil made Elijah think that he had failed and that everyone in Israel was serving Baal, but that was not true. The Lord told him, Yet I have left me seven thousand in Israel, all the knees which have not bowed unto Baal, and every mouth which hath not kissed him (I Kings 19:18). Beware because the devil will try to make you think you have failed God, too.
The Lord is so tender and merciful toward His children in this final hour; but those who will not accept His help are becoming arrogant and rebellious and are turning from the truth. Some of you allow yourselves to drift back into your old ways of thinking, and that gets you into deep trouble. It wrecks your nervous system and robs you of sleep, and you will not know what is wrong with you. You won’t realize that your sickness is a spiritual one with spiritual aches and pains.
Jesus Brought Love Benefits
Because Jesus came, we can have God’s wonderful love and all of its benefits. He is the Pearl of Great Price, and we must sell everything to have Him and carefully hold Him in our hearts. The kingdom of heaven is like unto a merchant man, seeking goodly pearls: Who, when he had found one pearl of great price, went and sold all that he had, and bought it (Matthew 13:45,46). Jesus has no flaws; and when we are just like Him, we will have no flaws either.
Jesus brought new life to the world. Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus, By a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh (Hebrews 10:19,20). And we must walk in that new life. As Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life (Romans 6:4).
Because of that new life, we can enter into the Lord’s everlasting Kingdom. For so an entrance shall be ministered unto you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ (II Peter 1:11). But first, we must work to fill it up with other people who are holy unto the Lord by taking the Gospel to the world. The apostles in the Early Church turned the world upside down with the Gospel, and we must do the same thing. These that have turned the world upside down are come hither also (Acts 17:6).
Jesus brought abundant life. He said, I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly (John 10:10). “Abundant” means a plentiful supply or overflowing; but to have that kind of life, you have to use faith and love. Then you have to live a holy life if you want the Lord to walk with you all the way. You will have nothing to fear or worry about if you stay in step with Him.
Through Christ, we have a true foundation. For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ (I Corinthians 3:11). Jesus is the corner stone of that foundation. And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone; In whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord: In whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit [the Holy Ghost] (Ephesians 2:20-22).
No one will be confused if they believe in that chief corner stone. Wherefore also it is contained in the scripture, Behold, I lay in Sion a chief corner stone, elect, precious: and he that believeth on him shall not be confounded (I Peter 2:6).
Children of God
Only the name of Jesus has the love and salvation we need. Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved (Acts 4:12). Love and faith hung on the Cross. God had tried everything He could think of to save mankind before He sent Jesus, but only the sacrifice of the Son of God could do it.
The divine blood of Jesus brought us into the family of God. For through him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father. Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellow-citizens with the saints, and of the household of God (Ephesians 2:18,19).
God’s love made it possible for us to become His very own sons and daughters. Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons [or daughters] of God (I John 3:1). But as many as received him [Jesus], to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name (John 1:12).
Then God made us joint-heirs with Christ. The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God: And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together (Romans 8:16,17). We will inherit everything that Jesus does.
Jesus spilled His blood at Calvary and left it there to be used so that whosoever will can come to Him. And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely (Revelation 22:17). Church membership cannot save people, and neither can water baptism. Only being born again through divine blood can do it.
All people must come to Jesus and act out His words no matter what the price may be. He said, For whosoever will save his life shall lose it; but whosoever shall lose his life for my sake and the gospel’s, the same shall save it (Mark 8:35). If you give yourself to God, you will save your life; but if you are selfish and keep it for yourself, you will lose it.
Don’t look at what other people are doing because they have nothing to do with you. You are responsible for yourself, and you must be spotless. That he [Jesus] might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish (Ephesians 5:27). You have to get rid of all the little things that hinder you and be everything that Jesus was when He was here.
Jesus said, I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work (John 9:4). The hour is getting late, so we must work for the Lord.
The All-Powerful Jesus
Some people claim to be saved, but they will not forgive all the wrongs they feel people have done to them; however, Jesus said that if we do not forgive others, He will not forgive us either. For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you: But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses (Matthew 6:14,15). Just talking about forgiving people will not do the job. If you carry a grudge, you have not forgiven through Jesus’ love. You must turn your enemies over to God like Jesus did and freely go forth to serve Him. The Bible says, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord (Romans 12:19).
Jesus went beyond love and gave great mercy. Again, a new commandment I write unto you, which thing is true in him and in you: because the darkness is past, and the true light now shineth (I John 2:8). When Jesus came, His light lit up the whole world; and it still does today. No one has to walk in the night because the true light has come. The people which sat in darkness saw great light; and to them which sat in the region and shadow of death light is sprung up (Matthew 4:16).
Only because Jesus brought that light can we love others as He loved us. He that saith he is in the light, and hateth his brother, is in darkness even until now. He that loveth his brother abideth in the light, and there is none occasion of stumbling in him (I John 2:9,10).
Things changed when Jesus came to Earth, and people marveled at His new doctrine, power and authority. And they were all amazed, insomuch that they questioned among themselves, saying, What thing is this? what new doctrine is this? for with authority commandeth he even the unclean spirits, and they do obey him (Mark 1:27).
Today, Jesus gives us that same power over the devil. And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues…they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover (Mark 16:17,18). We never have to fear the devil because when he looks at us, he should see Jesus.
Jesus also had the power to forgive sins and to perform miracles. But that ye may know that the Son of man hath power on earth to forgive sins, (then saith he to the sick of the palsy,) Arise, take up thy bed, and go unto thine house. And he arose, and departed to his house. But when the multitudes saw it, they marvelled, and glorified God, which had given such power unto men (Matthew 9:6-8). Miracles drew people to Jesus then, and they still draw people today.
Perfect Love
Love is the very heartbeat of God, and you must have the same heartbeat He has. Put your hands over your heart and realize that God is as close to you today as your hand is to your heart if you really have Him in your life and are yielding to Him. Feel your heart beating in harmony with His and know that you have His same heartbeat of love, peace, goodness, mercy, forgiveness, longsuffering and patience.
God’s love is perfect love; and when you have it in your heart, it will give you strength. It will take you into the throne of God so you can boldly ask for whatever you need and then use what you receive for the glory of God. Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need (Hebrews 4:16). The Lord delights in doing things for us, and He rejoices when we are willing to go to the ends of the Earth to proclaim the story of Jesus and to rescue those He died for.
Divine love looks beyond color, culture and its own wants. Love carried the Cross to Calvary, and nothing else could have done that. The Bible speaks of Jesus’ sacrifice saying, Who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God (Hebrews 12:2). Love endured for the joy of seeing men, women, boys and girls made new.
Divine love is not something you have to strive for because Jesus has already paid for it. You cannot buy it because it has no price. You just have to give all to follow Jesus, and He will be worth every sacrifice. Paul said, I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me (Galatians 2:20).
That was pure love, and that love enables you to rejoice when you are persecuted. Jesus said, Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake. Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven (Matthew 5:11,12). The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept my saying, they will keep yours also (John 15:20).
The Lord has made us rich in love, faith, grace and full assurance. We have healing from Heaven for soul, mind and body; and never a day goes by in which God does not use plenty of love for us. You can wake up any hour during the night and that love will be there for you; and through that love, God will do anything for you if you will serve Him with all of your heart and patiently wait upon Him.
Let Love In
Are you truly serving the Lord? If not, your heart is empty; and the Lord wants to come in. That emptiness you feel is because you don’t have Jesus; so if you want Him today, pray with me now: Oh, God, save my soul. Forgive me for all of my sins. I am sorry, Lord, that I sinned against you; but I have come home, and I am going to serve you for the rest of my life. I believe the blood of Jesus washes away all of my sins. Come into my heart, Jesus! Come on in! If you meant that prayer, He has come. Now, start reading your Bible, praying, loving God and doing His will.
Receive a Miracle
If you are sick and afflicted, you must know that God’s love heals; and you can be healed right now. He sent his word, and healed them (Psalm 107:20). He is reaching out to heal you because He is the Lord who healeth all thy diseases (Psalm 103:3). Oh, Lord, I bring those with cancer, heart trouble and all manner of sicknesses and diseases. I bring those who are crippled or afflicted. In the name of Jesus, I inject your power from your supernatural gifts of healing and miracles. Heal! in the name of Jesus and through the power of the Holy Ghost. Heal! in the holy name of the Lord.
The Lord is with us, but He must have your whole heart. Study His love and yield to it because you will need it every day. And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free (John 8:32). Tell the Lord that you want a baptism of His love. Yield completely to Him and let Him use you in any way He wants to. Let Him fill you to overflowing with His divine love, and you will be a great soul winner.
