God Must Get The Glory
by Ernest Angley
August 2019
God must get all the glory for everything He does, and each one of you must always be careful to give God the glory in all you do. Paul tells us, Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God (I Corinthians 10:31). And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him. And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily [with your whole heart], as to the Lord, and not unto men (Colossians 3:17,23).
Whenever you are about to say or do something, ask yourself, “Will this bring glory to God?” When your words and actions glorify God, it shows that you are thankful and grateful. I am so grateful for everything God does through this Jesus ministry, and I am careful to give Him all the glory.
God is pouring out His Spirit now like never before, and He will be using His children in ways they have not been used in the past. When God uses you for something special, you must be careful to give Him all the glory. The Bible says, That no flesh should glory in his presence. That, according as it is written, He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord (I Corinthians 1:29,31). I have seen preachers who glory in themselves and talk about all they have done so much that it is disgusting.
Always remember that all you have comes from God. Both riches and honour come of thee, and thou reignest over all; and in thine hand is power and might; and in thine hand it is to make great, and to give strength unto all (I Chronicles 29:12).
God gives His children jobs, and we must glorify Him by giving Him a tenth of all we earn. He gives us health, and we must use that health to work for Him. He gives us talents, and He anoints us to use them for Him. We cannot take glory for anything God has done for us. God freely gives to us, and we must freely give back to Him.
True Salvation Changes People
When people are truly born again, their lives will change completely; and others will take notice. Then God will get the glory for that. Paul is a perfect example. He was well educated and greatly respected among the Jews, but he hated Christians; so he arrested them wherever he could and took them to Jerusalem to be put to death. And Saul [later called Paul], yet breathing out threatenings and slaughter against the disciples of the Lord, went unto the high priest, And desired of him letters to Damascus to the synagogues, that if he found any of this way, whether they were men or women, he might bring them bound unto Jerusalem (Acts 9:1,2).
But when Paul was on his way to Damascus, the Lord knocked him down into the dust; and he heard the voice of Jesus saying, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me? And he said, Who art thou, Lord? And the Lord said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest: it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks. And he trembling and astonished said, Lord, what wilt thou have me to do (Acts 9:4-6)? Paul finally realized that Jesus was the Son of God; and soon after that, he was saved and baptized in the Holy Ghost.
Paul Glorified God
Paul was a changed man, and God called him to preach the Gospel; and he obeyed and took the truth to others with great results. Throughout his ministry, he took no glory for himself; he gave it all to God saying, For though I preach the gospel, I have nothing to glory of: for necessity is laid upon me; yea, woe is unto me, if I preach not the gospel (I Corinthians 9:16)!
Paul knew he had received the Gospel from Christ and not man, and he boldly let the people know about it. But I certify you, brethren, that the gospel which was preached of me is not after man. For I neither received it of man, neither was I taught it, but by the revelation of Jesus Christ (Galatians 1:11,12).
When you feel the necessity of glorifying God like Paul did, you will glory only in the Cross of Jesus Christ. But God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world (Galatians 6:14). You must be crucified unto the world, too.
We are in the final sweep of bringing in the world harvest, and God is pouring out His Spirit to help us do that. And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions: And also upon the servants and upon the handmaids in those days will I pour out my spirit (Joel 2:28,29). If you will receive the Spirit and let Him work through you, you will win souls; and the world will see the works of the Holy Ghost in your life. God will be glorified in all of that.
Unfortunately, many people are full of doubt, disobedience and degradation; and they don’t want this rain of the Spirit. They love the way they are living, and they don’t want to change; but I can guarantee that they won’t love hell.
Sin No More
The Bible says, For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23). Sin never glorifies God; so to glorify Him, you have to submit to Him in holiness and righteousness. We were all sinners before we were saved because when Adam and Eve sinned, it caused all people to be born into sin. Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me (Psalm 51:5). That is why we all need a Savior.
The Corinthians were so full of themselves that they excused outright sin in the church, and Paul told them about it. It is reported commonly that there is fornication among you, and such fornication as is not so much as named among the Gentiles, that one should have his father’s wife. And ye are puffed up, and have not rather mourned, that he that hath done this deed might be taken away from among you. Your glorying is not good. Know ye not that a little leaven leaveneth the whole lump (I Corinthians 5:1,2,6)?
The leaven of sin had ruined that church, and the people were not doing anything about it. Many churches today have become spiritually dead as well, and their people do whatever they want to—smoke, drink and commit adultery and fornication. They don’t believe that just a little bit of sin will destroy their soul and body.
Those who really serve God won’t sin; so if you are sinning today, you are not a child of God. If you were to die right now, you would go to hell. Many preachers don’t teach that, but it is the truth. The soul that sinneth, it shall die (Ezekiel 18:20).
Those who believe a Christian can sin and still go to Heaven contradict the whole concept of glorifying God. God did not give us sin, so it will never glorify Him. Only holiness and righteousness glorify God. He said, Be ye holy; for I am holy (I Peter 1:16). Jesus said in the Sermon on the Mount, Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect (Matthew 5:48).
Show God to Others
God’s glory is the manifestation of His divine attributes and holiness, and we must show those same traits in everything we do and say. For instance, He manifests His divine love to us; and we must glorify Him by manifesting that love to others. Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another (I John 4:11).
Do you share the love the Lord gives you? By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another (John 13:35). Divine love is what makes God’s children different, and showing divine love to others gives glory to God. When a person gets saved, he will walk away from the altar of God delivered no matter how much evil was in his heart. His eyes will be shining, and his face will be lit up with the glory of God. I have seen that happen thousands of times, and it is a beautiful sight.
God’s divine attributes include faith, and He gives everyone a measure of it. God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith (Romans 12:3). Abraham used that faith, and it glorified God. He [Abraham] staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God (Romans 4:20). When you are strong in divine faith and give God the glory for what His faith does for and through you, He will bless you abundantly.
Peter and John used divine faith to bring healing to a man who had been lame all of his life, and they gave God all the glory for using them. And as the lame man which was healed held Peter and John, all the people ran together unto them in the porch that is called Solomon’s, greatly wondering [what it was all about]. And when Peter saw it, he answered unto the people, Ye men of Israel, why marvel ye at this? or why look ye so earnestly on us, as though by our own power or holiness we had made this man to walk? The God of Abraham, and of Isaac, and of Jacob, the God of our fathers, hath glorified his Son Jesus; whom ye delivered up, and denied him in the presence of Pilate, when he was determined to let him go (Acts 3:11-13). That man was a great testimony as he ran leaping and dancing in front of all those people.
Never Take God’s Glory
It is dangerous to take any of God’s glory that is due Him. When King Herod killed James, a wonderful prophet of God and the brother of John, he saw that it pleased the Jews; so he sought to kill Peter also because he loved receiving the glory of man. However, God was angry; and He had other plans for Herod. And upon a set day Herod, arrayed in royal apparel, sat upon his throne, and made an oration [an elaborate speech] unto them. And the people gave a shout, saying, It is the voice of a god, and not of a man. And immediately the angel of the Lord smote him, because he gave not God the glory: and he was eaten of worms, and gave up the ghost (Acts 12:21-23).
Herod should have stopped the people from calling him a god, but he didn’t; and judgment fell. There is going to be a lot of judgment falling in this final hour. God told me that in the past, He has taken the blame for so many things He never did; and He is not going to do it any longer.
I have no doubt that Herod had the same persuasive power and elaborate speech the Antichrist will have when he sets up his kingdom on Earth, and many will fall prey to his devil-anointed speeches. The Antichrist’s spirit is already covering the Earth, and that is why I warn people to be careful what they watch and listen to and with whom they associate.
Just because a preacher has the ability to speak fluently and persuasively does not mean he or she is anointed of God and giving glory to Him. Many of them use their persuasive personality to collect as much money as they can, and then they don’t use it for the glory of God; however, the Lord knows that, and their judgment will fall one day.
Honor God in All
The Bible says, For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s (I Corinthians 6:20). God wants us to glorify Him in our bodies as well as our souls. When you try to dress like the world and fit in with them, it does not bring glory to God.
God’s children are to be different and separated from the world; and we must glorify Him by fasting, praying, helping others and carrying a burden for the lost. Peter said, But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light (I Peter 2:9). When people look at you, they should see a light that brings glory to God. All of your ways and actions should be like His.
If you have plenty of earthly riches, beware that it is easy to glorify self rather than God. The Bible says, Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches [They can vanish at any time.], but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy (I Timothy 6:17).
It is all right to have money, but you can’t put your trust in it; your trust must be in God. He wants His children to prosper, but our God who is worthy of praise must get the glory for what you have. For of him, and through him, and to him, are all things: to whom be glory forever. Amen (Romans 11:36). Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things (Revelation 4:11).
Jesus, Our Example
When Jesus walked the Earth, He always glorified the Father; and so must you. He said, He that speaketh of himself seeketh his own glory: but he that seeketh his glory that sent him, the same is true, and no unrighteousness is in him (John 7:18). He also said, I have glorified thee on the earth: I have finished the work which thou gavest me to do (John 17:4). At the end of our journey, we too must be able to say that we have finished our work. Until that time, we must glorify God in everything we do, in every testimony we give, in every sermon we preach and in every prayer we pray.
Jesus, the Son of God, is our example; and we must be like Him. And we can be because He came to make us sons and daughters of God. But as many as received him [Jesus], to them gave he power to become the sons [or daughters] of God, even to them that believe on his name: Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God (John 1:12,13).
Jesus always brought glory to God; and when we have His image, we will bring glory to God, too. But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass [a mirror] the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord (II Corinthians 3:18).
When you are like Jesus, you will be grateful. After Jesus had prayed for 10 lepers, the Bible tells us, And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, and with a loud voice glorified God, And fell down on his face at his [Jesus’] feet, giving him thanks: and he was a Samaritan [whom the Jews considered to be sinners]. And Jesus answering said, Were there not ten cleansed? but where are the nine? There are not found that returned to give glory to God, save this stranger (Luke 17:15-18). All 10 of those lepers were healed; but when that one man went back and gave thanks to Jesus, I believe he also received a miracle of re-creation.
Jesus shed divine blood which can save and help each individual throughout the whole world, and God in His great love was the one who made that sacrifice possible. In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him (I John 4:9).
Focus on Jesus
To give God all the glory He desires and deserves, you must make Jesus the center of your life. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven (Matthew 5:16). When you do that, you will be a blessing to the Lord and to others.
You must shine the Gospel light so Jesus’ whole purpose for coming to the world can be seen by the multitudes in this final hour. You must give Him liberty to use you and do His works through you. Then you can say as Jesus did, I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work (John 9:4).
When John was baptizing people, he glorified Jesus saying, I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire (Matthew 3:11). You too must recognize Jesus for who He is and let Him increase within you. Then you can say as John did, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight (Matthew 3:3).
Paul wanted to know Jesus in every way possible. That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death (Philippians 3:10). You must have that same desire.
Jesus is the Redeemer of all mankind and the Savior of the world. In your life, you must let Him be your Pearl of Great Price and the Treasure within your earthen vessel of clay. Jesus said, The kingdom of heaven is like unto a merchant man, seeking goodly pearls: Who, when he had found one pearl of great price, went and sold all that he had, and bought it (Matthew 13:45,46). But we have this treasure in earthen vessels (II Corinthians 4:7).
Be Like Jesus
Spending time with Jesus glorifies God, and spending quality time in prayer and in the Word must mean more to you than anything else on Earth. Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled (Matthew 5:6). And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart (Jeremiah 29:13).
If you don’t serve the Lord with your whole heart, you will be like so many others who have only a form of godliness but deny the power of God. For men shall be lovers of their own selves...Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away (II Timothy 3:2,5). You must never deny God’s power; and you must always direct people to His signs, wonders, miracles and healings.
When you see Jesus for all He truly is, you will fall into step with Him and be just like Him. Your words and actions will be the same as His, and others looking on will marvel at what they are seeing. You will even think like Him because the Bible says, Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus (Philippians 2:5). For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ (I Corinthians 2:16).
How do you take on the mind of Christ?—by studying the Word and yielding to the Holy Ghost. Thy words were found, and I did eat them; and thy word was unto me the joy and rejoicing of mine heart: for I am called by thy name, O LORD God of hosts (Jeremiah 15:16). God told me that every one of His words has eternal life in it. Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away (Matthew 24:35).
As the Word increases in you, honest hearts will be drawn to Jesus through you. The Lord has marked certain souls for each one of His children to win. They will cross your path at some time or another, and you will have to be ready to meet them. And the word of God increased [grew]; and the number of the disciples multiplied in Jerusalem greatly; and a great company of the priests were obedient to the faith [the Gospel of Jesus Christ] (Acts 6:7).
Deny Self
You must put self down every day and allow Jesus to shine forth for all the world to see. Some people will never pick up a Bible, so you may be the only Bible they will ever read. Ye are our epistle written in our hearts, known and read of all men: Forasmuch as ye are manifestly declared to be the epistle of Christ ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tables of stone, but in fleshy tables of the heart (II Corinthians 3:2,3). When you are a living epistle, it will glorify God and bring many people into the Kingdom.
You must know that you are nothing within yourself and that your life comes only from the Lord. Jesus said, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me. For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: but whosoever will lose his life for my sake, the same shall save it (Luke 9:23,24). Only by denying self can you glorify God and allow the light of the Gospel to show forth.
Carrying your cross for the Lord does not mean you should be weighed down with heavy burdens because that does not glorify God. You are to carry the burden for the lost and turn all others over to Jesus who said, Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest (Matthew 11:28). The cross we are to carry is much lighter than the Cross Jesus carried for a lost world.
Many people may say that Jesus is the Son of God and their burden-bearer, but that is only words because self is still the center of their life. They refuse to surrender their own glory and recognition and give those things to God because they want others to think they are someone special.
You have to put self aside and know that Jesus is the one who has everything you need. But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:19).
Jesus has all the power you need, and you must use that power to take the Gospel to the world. And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen (Matthew 28:18-20).
Seek to Go Deeper
Every characteristic of Jesus can become yours if you keep your eyes on Him, and your heart will be enlarged for souls just as Paul’s was. O ye Corinthians, our mouth is open unto you, our heart is enlarged. Now for a recompence in the same, (I speak as unto my children,) be ye also enlarged (II Corinthians 6:11,13). That kind of heart beats in rhythm with God’s heart and glorifies Him.
If you think following in the steps of Jesus is too hard, remember what the Psalmist said: Who [God] satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle’s (Psalm 103:5). We don’t have time to give in to old age; we have work to do.
The secret to success in the Lord is waiting on God. Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD (Psalm 27:14). When I don’t know what to do in a particular situation, I stop and ask myself, “What would Jesus do?” Through His love and grace, you will get the answer you need; and you will save yourself so much heartache that comes about from saying or doing the wrong thing.
When you get your answers from God, the Lord [will] make you to increase and abound in love one toward another, and toward all men, even as we do toward you (I Thessalonians 3:12). When God’s children have true, divine love for one another, people will be amazed; and God will be glorified.
Is God Your All in All?
The Word of God will never fail you, but you can fail God and His Word. Have you been too strong in self or too zealous in following your own wishes rather than God’s? Have you neglected the Lord in prayer, fasting or studying the Bible? You must hide the Word in your heart so you can live it and prove it. Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee (Psalm 119:11). But the word of the Lord endureth forever. And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you (I Peter 1:25).
Can you honestly say that Jesus is the center of your life and that you are letting Him work? Is He the one who is blessing you, leading you and causing you to abound in every good work? Therefore, as ye abound in everything, in faith, and utterance, and knowledge, and in all diligence, and in your love to us, see that ye abound in this grace [all the favor of God] also (II Corinthians 8:7).
Will you do anything for God, or are you satisfied with material blessings and feel no need of letting Him be the center of your life? Jesus said to one of the seven churches in the Book of Revelation, Thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked (Revelation 3:17).
The more of yourself you give to God, the more your life will glorify Him. However, if He is not your everything, you will wake up one day to find out how wrong you have been; but it may be too late for you to make up for all you have missed.
God is now reaching out to people throughout the world for the last time, and He needs to use you to do that. This gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come (Matthew 24:14). You will be fought when you put souls first, but persecution makes you strong in the Lord. Paul said, Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ’s sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong (II Corinthians 12:10).
Persecution is not pleasant, but never give up. Jesus was persecuted, and He despised it; but He endured it for you and me. Who [Jesus] for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God (Hebrews 12:2). Jesus loves all people, and He is using this precious time we have left to prove Himself to the world.
Glorify God with Salvation
This is the last hour of the Gentile dispensation, and the coming of the Lord is definitely nigh; so never let the enemy tell you otherwise. If you are lost today, you must come to Jesus because eternal darkness is about to settle in on you. The devil will tell you that you have plenty of time; but many people who have listened to that lie have found themselves screaming in eternal hell, a place where time does not exist.
If you are not saved, say this prayer right now: Oh, God, save my soul! Forgive me of my sins. You said if I would repent with godly sorrow, you would forgive me. Now, I repent with godly sorrow. I am so sorry, Lord. Save my soul right now. I believe the blood of Jesus washes away all my sins. Come into my heart, Jesus! Come on in, Jesus! If you meant that prayer, Jesus has come; and He is yours.
Now that you are saved, you must go on to receive the Holy Ghost. You must have Him to make the Rapture and to be everything the Lord wants you to be in this life. Jesus took on the form of flesh and became our example. He knew He needed the Holy Ghost, so we must receive Him, too. Flesh is weak, but the Holy Ghost will make you strong. If you want the greatness of God to work through you, lift up your hands and praise the Lord with the word “glory” until the Holy Ghost comes in.
Glorify God with a Miracle
If you are sick and afflicted today, why listen to the devil tell you that you can’t be healed? Why listen to him whisper, “The doctors have told you there is no hope”? You should be listening to the Lord saying, I am the LORD that healeth thee (Exodus 15:26). The Lord is ready and able to heal you and set you free from anything. He said, Behold, I am the LORD, the God of all flesh: is there anything too hard for me (Jeremiah 32:27)?
You may have AIDS today, but thousands have been healed of AIDS through this Jesus ministry. The testimonies are coming in, and we thank God for them. You may have leprosy, TB, diabetes, cancer, heart trouble or paralysis; but no case is too hard for our Lord.
Lord, I bring the people to you. You are the healer, and I am just your believer you have endowed with your supernatural gifts to bring healing to the people in the precious blood name of your Son. Heal! in the name of Jesus. I curse all the diseases of the people. Heal! I put every affliction under the blood to be destroyed in the name of the Lord.
Believe the Lord and be made whole in soul, mind and body. Always remember that the divine blood brings life and that blood is flowing for you now. Get well and then write or email to tell me about it.
Now, you must live for the Lord because He doesn’t heal people so they can serve the devil. The truth is found only in the blood Word and the blood promises of Lord God Almighty, and you must use that truth to win souls for the Lord.
Thus Saith the Lord
I am your God, and I am here to make each one of you a greater soul winner. I have sent the Holy Ghost to you. Yield to my Spirit, and He will direct you. He will help you to learn how to win many souls for my Kingdom. I have all power; and it is yours, saith the Lord.
