Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ (I Peter 1:13). Throughout this message, remember the word “gird”; and that means “to bind or tie together, to restrain or control, to equip or prepare for action.” In the New Testament, you can find many things with which to gird your mind. These are God’s girdlers, and you must arm yourself with all of them that you need to fight against the powers of the devil that are coming against the true Church of Jesus Christ in this final hour. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places (Ephesians 6:12).

First, we will examine “to gird” when it means “to bind or tie together”; and you must bind your mind just as the pages of a book are bound together. A book’s pages also must be in order, and so must your mind. Is your mind in order, and do you have the right things in it; or is it divided up with good thoughts, bad thoughts and thoughts of fear? It is time for you to decide, “I will take on the things that gird my mind and use them to bind it together in God’s love and grace, and I am going to be in one mind and one accord with the Holy Spirit all the time.” That was the secret of the Early Church.

A Mind of Order

A book is not only bound; it also has a cover over it to protect it, and we must have a cover for the mind as well—the blood of Jesus Christ. That blood cover protects the mind just like the cover of a book protects the binding and the pages, and you must keep that blood cover on.

You would not buy a book if the pages were out of order, so why do you let your mind get into such disorder? You must apply the girdlers found in the Bible to your mind and use them to bring your mind together and to make it just like a perfect book. Then instead of your mind being a jumbled up mess of doubt, fear and frustration, it will be in order; and you will know where to find things in it that will bless you and help you.

When your mind is in God’s order, you will have no room for doubt, despair, fear or anything else that will weaken you. You will only have room for things that will strengthen, edify and bless you, things that are right—God right.

The devil will try to feed you things that will not gird your mind, and he will drop little things into it to disturb it and sidetrack it whenever he can. He will try to work through your mind and on your mind and battle it in every way he can.

Jesus came and showed us that no matter how much the devil battles a mind, he cannot control, destroy or overcome that mind unless the person allows him to. All we have to do is use what Jesus used when He was here, and He brought all the things we need to girdle our minds because He loves us.

Restrain Your Mind

The next meaning of “to gird” is “to restrain and keep under control.” When you bind your mind and tie it together with things that count, you will be able to restrain it and keep it under control. Don’t always let your mind wander off onto things you don’t want it to think about. You can restrain your mind when you surround it and equip it with the right things.

A godly, righteous, holy mind is one that the Lord dearly loves; and it is the only kind of mind He planned for man and woman to have. He never intended for us to fight against the devil in our minds because when He created man, He never intended for man to ever give over to the devil or even to listen to him. You have to gird up your mind and stop listening to the devil’s serpent talk.

The devil robs some of you of so much that God gives you, and then you wonder why other people are so happy. God has poured out just as much to you, but you let the devil take it from you when you should bind him with the blood of Jesus. However, you let him trample you, bluff you and make you think you have no control over the thoughts you are having and that you have to be depressed and oppressed.

When Jesus came, He was full of the Holy Ghost; and He went about healing all who were oppressed of the devil. How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him (Acts 10:38).

Jesus showed us that He is the healing Christ for soul, mind and body; but some of you never take time to get your mind in order so you can receive. You don’t have it bound together with the love of God or the Word; and when you are not tied to the Word, it is not a part of you. You must gird your mind with things that are profitable, things that can restrain your mind from many of the things you have not been able to restrain it from before.

Bound by Love

Instead of giving others your opinions, you must speak only the things of God; and when you truly have a mind that can take in the things of God, then you can speak about His faith, love, grace, strength, health and greatness. Jesus spoke only about the greatness of God, and all of His words were with power and strength from On High. We have the same divine blood in our souls that He had, so our words should be spoken with the same strength He had; and we should not talk about weakness or unhappiness at any time. You should only talk about happiness, joy, goodness and mercy.

To restrain your mind also means “to obligate by duty,” and God has bound His children to Himself and to His will with love. We are bound to walk like Jesus, to talk like Jesus and to do the work of Jesus; and we are headed for the Promised Land. If you know you are on your way to Heaven, then why do you worry so much about where you have been?

Love bondage is never cruel; it is happy bondage. Getting married is bondage, but it should be a love bondage—you are to be bound to that person in love. You willingly obligate yourself to that person and promise to look out for them, to love and protect them, to bring all the happiness to them you possibly can and to bring them no shadows, doubts, fear or despair. However, many marriages today are anything but love bondage; they are a cruel bondage.

Just as in an earthly marriage, the Bride of Christ is bound by love to Jesus Christ, the Groom, and obligated to the body of Christ, the Church. The Bride is bound to Jesus to fulfill His will, to carry out all His desires and to go into the highways and hedges and compel the lost to come to Calvary. How do you compel them?—with love.

To be able to bring in the harvest, you must first be bound by love yourself. If you are not bound to God by love, you will not fulfill His great duty or answer the great call from Heaven to win the lost at any cost. Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature (Mark 16:15). Without love, you will not feel obligated to do everything you can to get this Gospel to the world. Every prayer you pray, every meal you fast, all the time and money you sacrifice and every ounce of love and strength you give help to get the Gospel to the world through love.

You must willingly take on God’s bondage of love and then love to follow the Lord because there will be things you cannot do, places you cannot go and people you cannot spend time with. You willingly have to bind yourself to the love of God and keep yourself unspotted.

There are to be no spots of the world on God’s children, and the world calls that ugly bondage; but we call it beautiful bondage—love in action and love through grace that will last for all eternity. Such love bondage should not be a burden to us at all. We should have great joy in knowing that we have been given power from Heaven to walk upright, to do the right things, to not give over to our emotions and to be righteous, holy people right here on Earth.

Use Divine Love

What do you dwell on? Do you dwell on what the devil is doing and all the evil things taking place throughout the Earth, or do you dwell on what God’s love and mercy are serving to people throughout the Earth and the great plan of God for all who will accept it?

God’s binding of love unites and holds together, so we are to stand together in the unity of the faith just as the Bible tells us to. Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ (Ephesians 4:13).

As people stand together in this hour in one mind and one accord, the Lord will go far beyond the beginning of the Church in power and greatness to bring in the harvest. There will be millions more miracles than the Early Church had, and we will win many millions more souls than the Early Church won because the Lord is pouring out such unbelievable love.

First Corinthians 13 tells us that we are nothing without divine love. Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity [love], I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal. And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity [love], I am nothing (I Corinthians 13:1,2). You are worthless to God and His Kingdom if you do not have love.

Love is a great girdler, and the Lord cannot work for or use you unless you have His love. The more of God’s love you have, the easier it will be for the Spirit to make intercession and to get answers for you and the easier it will be for Christ to make intercession to the Father for you. The Bible tells us that both the Holy Spirit and Jesus Christ make intercession for us in prayer. Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God (Romans 8:26,27). It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us (Romans 8:34).

Never Doubt God’s Love

If you are not full of God’s love, you will not think much on the divine blood; and you will not use the power that is in the blood in any great way. Only through the love of God can we use the blood and the power that is in the blood or have the strength that the Bible tells us about. Only through the love of God can any one of the many promises in the Word be fulfilled.

The Lord feels sorry for us when we are going through temptations and storms; but if we will reach out for Him, He will rejoice and be glad in the fact that we know our place in Him. It is so sad when the devil can scramble people’s minds to the point that they wonder if God even loves them. I never question whether or not God loves me. He saved me when I was just a sinner, so how much more does He love me now that I am living right?

You must never doubt God’s love. If you must doubt anything, doubt the devil and everything he brings to you. Doubt will come to you, and that is why the Lord went to so much trouble to give you His faith and to tell you that you must have it. Never let the devil rob and deceive you by saying, “Why do you have that doubt?” You have to rise up and conquer doubt and fear with love.

Keep the Devil Out

Divine faith is another girdler. It is the faith that was once delivered to the saints, the faith that the prophets of old used; and the Bible says we must have it. Earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints (Jude 1:3). Divine faith is what kept Noah’s family building the ark for 120 years, and it is the faith that caused Abraham to set out to sacrifice his son. When you use the Lord’s girdlers, you will find it is easy to girdle and control your mind; but if you fail to gather His girdlers, what are you going to equip, bind and restrain your mind with? You have to collect the Lord’s girdlers by going to the Word of God and letting the Holy Spirit help you find all of them that you need.

When your mind is girdled and bound together, the devil cannot wiggle in and get to you. However, some of you make yourselves easy prey for the devil without realizing it, and that puts you in a terrible condition that affects your spirit. The devil will make you think that God doesn’t love you as much as He loves other people when the fact is that you are not bound to Him by love like you should be.

When your mind is not bound by love to God, it cannot be completely girdled; so the enemy can get in and worry you. If your mind is girdled with the love of God, you will not doubt God’s love; you will believe in it all the time.

Sacrifice for Others

I was fortunate to be reared in a godly home, so I have never doubted God’s love for me. My mother and dad were fasting people who gave their lives for their children, and they used a lot of things to girdle our minds because they wanted us to be all that God wanted us to be. They did not want us to do anything in life that would lift them up; they wanted us to do things that would lift Jesus up. They never encouraged us to participate in the things of the world; they encouraged us to look to God for our help and in making our decisions. They encouraged us to look to God for love, strength and courage; and those things affect children.

My parents were so willing to sacrifice for us, and times were hard during the Great Depression. I know Mama and Daddy are in Heaven and have been well repaid for their sacrifices, and I know they are not sorry. However, when I think of the great price they paid for just seven children, what price should I be willing to pay for the many souls the Lord has delivered to me? That is why I don’t count my own life dear except for what it can do for the Lord and for how it can be a blessing to others throughout the Earth in this final hour.

I live to serve God’s love and to help people so they can be in one mind with God and the Holy Spirit. I live to help people when they are being battled with mental spirits because I know they can be delivered. If I can get people to believe with all of their heart that the Lord loves and cares for them, then I can get them to take another girdler and another one. Their minds are being girdled without them realizing it; and when they come out of their valley victorious, they will wonder why they ever let the devil get to them in the first place.

React God’s Way

When you gird up and restrain your mind, you hold yourself back from action when flesh and the enemy want you to do something wrong. You can hold yourself back when you use the Lord’s girdlers because you will have enough strength in your mind to do it. At times, you may think you want to get back at people; but you must take a moment to add another girdler or two so your mind will have the restraint it needs to hold back from that kind of action.

“Restrain” means “to suppress, to keep under control, to limit your reaction”; and you can have the power to control your emotions and impulses. Never give over to wrong emotions because they will take strength away from you, and you will sink into your feelings.

People who give over to their emotions do not act like adults but like kids, and they can do some terrible things. They even reason like children, and that is awful. Paul said, When I became a man, I put away childish things (I Corinthians 13:11).

Emotions and feelings can be deceiving, so we must take on the feelings of divinity. The more we can use those divine feelings, the easier it will be for us to feel the same as God feels about things. This journey will soon end, but some of you cannot see the soon coming of the Lord through your fog of doubt and unbelief; so you are not able to feel it as God feels it.

How can you feel like God feels?—by agreeing with God, Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit. You have to agree with everything God said about His love and with everything the Bible says about divine faith, the divine blood and the strength of the blood. The Lord has given us power over the devil, so we don’t have to fear him or man.

You can walk the same walk that Jesus walked; but to do that, you must talk the same talk. You must ask yourself, “What would Jesus say? How would Jesus act? What would Jesus do?” The girded mind waits for the answer, but the ungirded mind does not. If you don’t get an answer right away, you have to stand still and know that you will see the salvation of the Lord. Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the LORD (Exodus 14:13).

Never Listen to the Devil

No matter how far you feel you have been cast down by man or the devil, you must know that the Lord will lift you up. But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint (Isaiah 40:31).

The girded mind has full assurance that it will be lifted up the right way, and it has no false ego. The mind is such a small cup, but it can hold so much when it comes to the things of God. It can hold all the happiness of God, and that even helps your body; but when your mind is filled with what the devil brings to it, it will weaken you spiritually and physically.

The devil is doing everything he can to work through the minds of God’s people and to rob them of divine peace, joy and love and of the fellowship of Jesus Christ; so never listen to the devil or let him work in your mind. Some people do, and that is why even many who claim to be Christians and say they are walking with God will think about suicide. They may say, “I am not really going to do it.” Watch it! The devil is seeking hard to plant that seed there so it will bring forth the wrong kind of action. The devil will try to get you to think that people and the Lord would be better off without you. Then he will make you think you will go straight to Heaven when you will go straight to hell.

The devil works on your mind to bring thoughts to you that are false, ugly or sinful; and he tries to make you think they are your thoughts, but you must look into your soul and realize that you don’t have that kind of mind. Those thoughts are not yours, and you are not held responsible for them because they come from the devil. It is impossible for you to have an ugly, lusting mind and still have a clean soul.

When you are always worrying about terrible thoughts you may have, then the devil will say, “I told you that you were not right”; and if you listen to that, he will disconnect you from God’s love and scramble your mind. Then the devil will make you think that those terrible thoughts are a part of you and that you are ugly and undone.

Reject Satan’s Thoughts

The Lord is uncovering the devil for you; and as long as you keep your mind open to the truth, the Holy Spirit will give you the true picture of what is happening to you. Then you can go on your way being happy because you will know the devil’s thoughts are not yours. You will not hear anything the devil says, and you will not believe anything he tells you. You will be happy and carried away with the Lord, and your mind and your heart will be connected together.

There are times when your heart may be in a condition to see Jesus, but your mind is not. Some of you will go to sleep with your mind so cluttered that you won’t even think about Jesus. You will take out the garbage before you go to bed to keep the house from stinking, and yet you will go to bed with your mind so full of the devil’s garbage that his thoughts are the first things you think about when you wake up. You may think about something bad or somebody who has hurt you or done something wrong to you. Now, did the Holy Spirit bring those things to your mind? If not, then why do you accept them? With an ungirded mind, you will think ungirded things; and that is why God has given us girded things to think about—things that really count and things that bind your mind in the right way.

For the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night (Revelation 12:10). This is a very important scripture that you should memorize and never forget. The accuser of the brethren is the devil, and John the Revelator was telling of how the devil will be cast down in the future; but until that time, do you realize that the devil accuses you before God day and night? The devil hates you so much and is so deceived that he thinks he has a chance to separate you from God.

We never know when we are being accused by the devil before our God, but God knows what Satan says is not so; and in our trying hours of standing God’s tests, we prove his words are not so. We will go through many trials and valleys, but they will prove to man and the devil that their accusations are not true. People will accuse us, too, and then the devil picks up those accusations and rushes with them back to God; but the Bible says, The Lord knoweth them that are his (II Timothy 2:19).

The Fruit Girdlers

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance (Galatians 5:22,23). The fruits of the Spirit are great girdlers, and you must use them for your mind as well as for your soul. They are produced on the inside of you by the Holy Ghost Himself in the soil of your soul that has been made fertile and rich through the blood. You will have all the production of them you need when you yield to the Holy Spirit.

If you have the fruits of the Spirit, they will show up through the mind; but if you don’t have them, that will show up, too. The Lord said, Ye shall know them by their fruits…every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit (Matthew 7:16,17).

If you gird your mind and keep it girded, you will be in charge of your attitudes; but some of you can quickly show the wrong attitudes, and that hurts your influence. You also hurt your confidence and full assurance in walking with God, and that is what the devil wants. You contaminate so much of yourself and others when you use the wrong attitudes.

If you gird your mind with all of the fruits, you will have a holy, sanctified mind. Then you can girdle your mind with the things that the Lord told us to think upon. Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things (Philippians 4:8).

You must use that which is true to gird your mind against that which is false. You must use that which is honest against that which is dishonest, that which is just against that which is unjust, that which is pure against that which is impure, that which is lovely against that which is ugly and that which is of a good report against that which is of a bad report.

All of this is in the Holy Scriptures, and that is the Book we must treasure above our own lives. Without the Word, we are nothing; and we have no eternity with God. Jesus said, Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away (Matthew 24:35). All those who did not die in the Word and all of those who are not in the Word at the end of life’s journey will be destroyed; they will never be in God’s eternity.

The Blood Delivers

We will face all kinds of things in this life, and fear can come in a moment; but it can also go in a moment through the love of God. The Bible says, There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear (I John 4:18). No one can ever take in all the love of God; but you can take in enough for all of your needs to be supplied, enough to never doubt Him and to never let fear possess you. You can use the perfect love of God for those things; or you can yield to the perfect Holy Spirit, and He will use the blood to cast those things out.

God is doing everything He can to teach you how to gird your mind because without a girded mind, you will not be armed and fully equipped for the war that is ahead of you. It is going to be like the lions’ den, the fiery furnace and so many other things all mixed together. The devil is going to come at us with everything he possibly can, but Jesus put Himself out in front of the devil to show us that we never have to be afraid because He brought all we need to defeat the devil.

The blood is ours, and just one angel with one chain of that blood will cast the devil into the bottomless pit for 1000 years. Then that blood will cast him into the lake of fire. And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand. And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years, And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up (Revelation 20:1–3).

The devil will be helpless when the angel drags him to the pit through the divine blood; and you can use that same blood if you have it in your soul. The Bible says that we have been made partakers of divine blood. Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust (II Peter 1:4).

Through the blood of Jesus, the cover goes over the book of your mind. You have the girdlers in your mind, and you are using them to tie your mind together so it can be girded and kept in order. No part of your mind is wasted or leeched, so it is free for God to talk to and to deal with.

Be Steadfast in God

The devil knows that if he can separate you from the fellowship and the love of Jesus that he will get you, and that is why the Apostle Paul said it all when he said that nothing can separate us from the love of God. Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord (Romans 8:35,37–39). That is what we must decide in this final hour.

The Lord warned me many years ago that the battles of the mind would be the most ferocious battles for God’s people in the final hour, and He moved on me to start preaching about them so people would be ready when they came; but some have been so dismayed by them and wondered, “What is happening to me? Why am I being tormented like this? Am I losing my mind?” Peter said, Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you (I Peter 4:12). Peter had been through those trials, and he knew what they were like.

Paul said, Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord (I Corinthians 15:58). “Steadfast” means “to be firm, fixed, settled and constant; to not change, be fickle or waver.” Being steadfast and unmovable is the secret, and that is the way you must be if you want to have peace with God and be an overcomer in this last hour.

Are you unmovable, or can the devil move you from faith to doubt and from courage to despair? Can he move you from any of God’s Word into his false teaching? The Word is steadfast and unmovable; and the Word says, Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away (Matthew 24:35). You must decide that your confidence is in the Word of God and know that it will comfort your heart and establish you in every good work.

Paul also said, Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith (Colossians 2:7). When you are stablished, you are established; and that means “to make stable, to make firm or to settle.” You have to settle into the Word of the living God and become stable and firm in it. You go into business with God in His work; you serve Him and do what He wants you to do.

The Lord created man to have free choice, so you can decide whether or not you want to be steadfast, unmovable and established in the Word. You have free choice to decide whether or not you want to keep your mind and heart connected with the truths of God. Never let the devil separate your mind from your heart because when they are connected together in the unity of the Spirit, you will have control.

It is not enough just to be ready to go to Heaven; you have to be steadfast in the Word so you will not be gullible and always changing, but some of God’s people can change so quickly. They will sit in a good service where the anointing of God is moving; and for the moment, their mind will be taken over by the Holy Spirit, and they bathe in God’s love. They feel as if they are truly a conqueror for Jesus; but when they get away from God’s people and the anointing of God, the devil robs them of the peace in their minds.

Established in Jesus

But the Lord is faithful, who shall stablish you, and keep you from evil (II Thessalonians 3:3). The Lord is faithful, and that is what your heart will tell you when you have Jesus in it. Your mind, not your heart, is what collects doubt and frustration and gets scrambled so the Holy Spirit cannot get to it with the Word.

For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the end (Hebrews 3:14). We are made partakers of all of Jesus—all of His strength and all of His conquering power. If your heart is right, your heart will know that; but your mind will not accept it unless you yield entirely to the Holy Spirit.

He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock [Christ Jesus], and established my goings [my way of living] (Psalm 40:2). That is what the Lord did for you at Calvary, and your heart will tell you that if you will remember the beginning of your salvation. Christ Jesus established your road of life and the paths for your feet to trod, so why do you ever doubt the way He has chartered for you?

God said, With whom my hand shall be established: mine arm also shall strengthen him (Psalm 89:21). If you will let God establish you in His Word, His right arm will be yours all the time. His mighty strength and the power of His greatness will be yours, so you will have nothing to fear and nothing to worry about.

Ponder the path of thy feet, and let all thy ways be established (Proverbs 4:26). You must ponder the way of your feet to make sure that all of your paths are the paths of God and the paths of His righteousness. Nothing less than that will please God, and nothing less than that will satisfy a clean, pure heart. Deceit has to take over for the heart to be satisfied with any paths but the right paths.

Be not carried about with divers and strange doctrines. For it is a good thing that the heart be established with grace; not with meats, which have not profited them that have been occupied therein (Hebrews 13:9). People will try to take you back under the Law and tell you not to eat certain things, but the Lord plainly tells you that meat has nothing to do with the heart. The only way your heart can be established is with the grace of God.

Divine Peace

To have the right kind of mind, you must have the peace of God in it; but that is the one thing the devil seeks to steal from every child of God every moment of every day. You cannot have just human peace because human peace is easily destroyed, but God’s peace is everlasting. The devil cannot destroy the peace of God, but he can rob you of it.

And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). It is not enough to have peace in your heart; you must have peace in your mind, but that is where the devil is winning in the lives of so many of God’s children. They have not learned how their minds can be kept; and that has defeated them and robbed them of joy, happiness and peace. People may have the peace of Calvary in their hearts because they are saved, but many do not have the peace of God in their minds.

The Holy Spirit is your helper and your comforter, and He is the one to give you peace for your mind. But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid (John 14:26,27). The Holy Spirit did not come just to give you peace in your soul. When you are saved, the devil cannot get in to rob you of the peace in your soul, but he can get to the mind; and that is why you must have the Comforter, our teacher and helper, for your mind.

If you are saved today, your heart is settled in the Word of God. Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee (Psalm 119:11). You have the Word hidden in your heart, but do you have it in your mind? Your heart can reach your mind with the Word of God when it has been planted in your heart and when you will look into your heart for your answers. Does the Word light up your path? Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path (Psalm 119:105).

The Lord can only keep your heart and mind when your mind is girded. The Bible says, Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee (Isaiah 26:3). That does not mean just having peace in your soul but also peace in your mind; however, without divine peace in your mind, you will not be victorious for the Lord or for yourself in this final hour.

Meditate in the Word

Some of you allow yourselves to be robbed by family, friends, co–workers or the devil and his demons. Instead of meditating upon the things of God when you are alone, you meditate upon things that are bad and things the devil is doing to you. You allow him to direct your thoughts and your meditation, but that is not the kind of meditation the Bible teaches. The Psalmist said, My mouth shall speak of wisdom; and the meditation of my heart shall be of understanding (Psalm 49:3). That wisdom is the truth of God, the Word of the Lord; so the Psalmist was saying that the meditation of his heart was on the truth and that he would have understanding of that truth.

I will sing unto the LORD as long as I live: I will sing praise to my God while I have my being. My meditation of him shall be sweet: I will be glad in the LORD (Psalm 104:33,34). Is your meditation of the Lord sweet, or are you always afraid He is going to get you? The devil will tell you that God is after you, and that is why some people cannot meditate upon the Lord without having fear or feelings of frustration, despair and doubt.

The only place where we will be happy in this final hour is in the Lord. Sin is all around us, and so many people today have gone away from God that we will have to be preserved through the Holy Spirit of God and through the keeping power of Jesus Christ. When Jesus was here, He prayed that would happen to the disciples. I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil. They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth (John 17:15–17).

Having No Peace Brings Torment

When Paul told the Thessalonians that he would send Timothy to them, he described him as a fellow–labourer in the gospel of Christ [who would be sent], to establish you, and to comfort you concerning your faith (I Thessalonians 3:2). We must be established in the faith of God; but if we are not established in our mind, we will not have peace, and we will be tormented and unhappy. That is not the will of the Lord for His people because in that state, you will not do your best work, your best praying or your best believing. Your mind will be in great turmoil and distress, and it will become a battlefield. Then you will not have the peace you need to give you the strength you need. The Bible says, For the joy of the LORD is your strength (Nehemiah 8:10); but the enemy will always try to take the very heart out of you and rob you of the peace and joy of the Lord.

When you have divine peace, you will be conscious of God’s love; but without that peace, it will be easy for the devil to make you waver. Your soul may have received the peace and joy of salvation, but your soul cannot share that love with the whole you without using your mind. Only through a girded mind can the Holy Spirit reveal to you the greatness and the truth of God; so when your mind is ungirded and out of order, you cannot receive anything from God. Then not only is the Holy Spirit grieved within you but your very soul is grieved.

When you have no peace, you will not have God’s vision. Through the Holy Spirit, God is trying to send you pictures of His love, His grace, His peace, His strength, His greatness and His life for you. Some of you may hear the voice of the Lord through the Word of God, but you cannot receive what the Lord is trying to send you or keep those things in your mind because your mind is scrambled; and that is what the devil wants. The Holy Spirit seeks to reconcile you into the peace of God, but He cannot do it because He has to wait for you to run your course.

If some of you could put your ungirded mind on a big screen and see how scrambled it is, you would wonder how God ever gets through to you; and you would understand why your faith wavers. You would see that your mind is in such a state of confusion that it is no wonder you have no happiness or strength because your mind cannot receive the joy of the Lord. When you finally get tired of being unhappy and having a scrambled, ungirded mind, you must connect your mind with your heart and cry out to God for help. Only then can the Holy Spirit take over and comfort you in the Word of God because you are finally listening.

You must be connected with Heaven and get your mind into the channel that the Holy Spirit wills it to be in. Only then will your mind be able to receive the true picture of God’s love and truth.

You Can Control Your Mind

To the end he may stablish your hearts unblameable in holiness (I Thessalonians 3:13). Since the Lord will establish your heart in the holiness and righteousness of God, you can be a part of God if you will take on His divine nature; so why do you let the devil torment you in your mind?

God gave you that power to be the keeper of your mind and to control your mind, but the devil has convinced many people that they have no control. Your mind can think upon only so much at one time, so why don’t you choose what your mind dwells on? Why will you start to read the Bible and then let the devil take your mind in so many other directions?

You can focus your mind on something if you really want to do it. For example, if you are excited about reading a certain book, it is no trouble for you to focus your mind on it. If you want to hear what someone is saying, you have no trouble listening to them. It is when you are not interested in doing something that you have trouble, because you won’t put your mind to work.

The ill winds of doubt and frustration are blowing all over the Earth today; and if you let them blow over your mind, you are in trouble. Those ill winds will scramble your mind to such an extent that you will not be able to comprehend a day or even an hour in God. The great Apostle Paul was always seeking to comprehend the things of God and to help others. You will find help in all of the writings the Lord poured through Paul because he kept trying to teach people how to use the things of God.

Know Who You Are

When you have an ungirded, scrambled mind, you cannot think straight. You don’t have the love or the peace of God; and then some will even say, “I cannot feel God.” Your soul does not have to feel God for it to be clean and for you to know that God is in there because your soul recognizes the purity of God that is in it and the purity of you. When God looks at you, He sees no sin in your heart; so you should be one of the happiest people on Earth, but you are only happy at times. Only once in a while will your heart and mind get together so you can hear the Holy Spirit within you say, “Child, I am with you, and I am your protector. I am your Savior, your Master and your peace. I am your joy, your love and your strength; and you never have to be afraid.”

Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths (Proverbs 3:5,6). If a heart will trust in God, He will bring all Heaven down to fight even just one battle for that soul before He will let that soul be defeated. God delights in a heart that will put its trust in the Almighty, but some of you allow your mind to play tricks on you. Your mind is ungirded, so you become deceived and think you can’t be happy; but it is not the will of God for you to be tormented in your mind.

Jesus had peace every day no matter what came His way, and people could not understand His peace and His love. Many of you cannot understand God’s ways either even though the Holy Spirit has come to give you understanding. You are not to stumble around in the night without any understanding of God’s peace and love; He wants you to understand how much He loves and cares for you. However, without God’s peace, you will never be able to use His love, His faith or His Word.

When I found Jesus in my teens, I found peace at last. It was the peace of Heaven, so it did not matter what anybody said or did to me. It did not matter that people who had enjoyed me before I found Jesus no longer wanted to be with me. I was so contented just to be with the Lord that I did not need another human being around me. I had found perfect peace in the Lord, and I delighted to be away with Him. His Word became my Book of life, and I found excitement on every page because I knew the Lord was speaking to me. My mind was not scrambled, and I had the peace of God. That peace is the secret of this ministry; and because of it, I can use God’s love and joy for myself and for others.

Let Divinity Flow into Your Mind

The Bible tells us in Luke, Neither be ye of doubtful mind (Luke 12:29). Do not be of a doubtful mind, and don’t have wavering faith. The Bible says, Let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. For let not that man think that he shall receive anything of the Lord (James 1:6,7). This is not talking about your heart wavering but your mind. You have to connect your mind with your heart because the truth of God, His saving grace and His sanctifying power are in your heart.

Many of you are trying to connect with Heaven when you already have God in your heart; so if you will connect with your heart, divine peace and love will flow into your mind just as human love does. If you have ever really fallen in love, you know how easy it is to think about that one person. Love for them flows from your heart into your mind and washes thoughts of everybody else away.

It is the same with God’s love—it is like a magnet that will draw your mind to the things of God if you will allow it to. That love will bring Jesus and His greatness to you, and it will cause you to think upon Him and His mighty works. Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer (Psalm 19:14). The Psalmist was meditating upon the greatness of God and upon His mighty works.

The Psalmist also said, But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night (Psalm 1:2). If he was meditating in the Law of God day and night, how much more so should we meditate in the grace of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ?

If you do not have your mind girded today, you must decide, “I will start to use God’s girdlers on my mind. I will bind my mind to the things of God and to the truths of God. I will bind and get rid of all bad thoughts; and with the grace of God, I will reach out for the things the Lord told me to think on. I will not listen to people’s opinions or even to my own, and I will walk and talk more with the Lord than ever before. I will take my place as a member of the bridal company; and I will walk without spot, wrinkle or blemish, not because I feel like it but because the Lord says I can do it.”

Thus Saith the Lord

Yea, saith the Lord, my people can have my peace. I will my people to have my peace. Walk in the way that I have ordained you to walk. Yield to my Holy Spirit and to my words of life for you. I do not give you torment; I give you peace. Walk my paths and know my will for you. My ways are ways of peace, contentment, joy and great happiness; but you must deny self to find this peace. Only then can you yield to my peace. My peace will bring my love to you daily, and my love will bring my great faith to you. Then you will walk in the way of the Lord; you will love with His love, and you will believe with the same faith that He used when He was here among men.

Let not your heart be troubled and let my peace be yours. I flow it out to you, but you reject it again and again. Your mind rejects my peace, saith the Lord, and you are not aware of the fact that you are rejecting my peace. The enemy of your soul robs you so you cannot use my peace; and then you wonder why you have no happiness or peace for the day when it is because you have rejected my peace, saith the Lord.

I am with you, and I walk with you. I listen to you when you talk to me, and I hear every word. Be strong and of good courage because I the Lord thy God am with thee, saith the Lord.

Only Jesus Within Brings Peace

Some of you are so tormented and troubled, but the Lord is seeking to help you; so let your mind find the perfect peace of God. Some of you already have Jesus in your heart, but others do not. If you want God’s peace, you must first say the sinners’ prayer. Lift up your hands and let the Lord help you. Oh, God, save my soul. I am so sorry that I sinned against you; but I have come home, and I will serve you, Lord, for the rest of my life. I know that there is power in the blood of Jesus to wash away all of my sins. Come on in, Jesus! Come on in! If you meant that prayer, Jesus has come; and He will be your peace, your love and your faith just as He promised He would be.

Now, if you are a child of God who is having mind problems, reach up and touch the Lord right now. Lord, here they are. God, deliver these people from the strife and the clamor that the enemy has brought about. Deliver them from frustration, fear and despair. In the name of Jesus, help them to be established and unmovable in your Word. Help them to be steadfast in the Word and in the promises of the living God. Amen.

God Will Heal You

Now, you can have a physical miracle if you need one. You may have a deadly disease, but it does not matter with the Lord; He is the healing Christ. Lord, here are those with AIDS, leprosy, cancer, diabetes, lung trouble, heart trouble or any other kind of affliction. I bring to you deformed babies and little children who are dying with AIDS. Heal them all in the blood name of the One who came all the way from Heaven to deliver us! Heal! in the precious blood name of Jesus! Heal!

As I speak that name, health is flowing to you. Be thou made whole. The healing power through the blood of Jesus Christ will get you and your loved ones well, and then you must give God all of the glory and serve Him. Don’t look at self; look at the promises of God. As you embrace those promises, you will be steadfast, unmovable and established. You will be what God desires you to be, and you will find that you do have great, wonderful peace.

Let’s go along talking about the glorious way. Let’s go along and listen to what the Holy Spirit is saying. That is the only way we will have the joy of the Lord. Then we will have divine strength for the journey daily to do the whole will of God.
