Exercising Faith
by Ernest Angley
January 2015
To exercise the divine faith of God means to use it, and the Bible says that everyone is given a measure of faith. God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith (Romans 12:3). You cannot buy faith; it is a gift from God, and you have to use it if you want it to grow. When you use the first measure, the Lord will give you another measure; and when you use the second measure, He will give you a third measure, and on it goes. There is no limit to the amount of faith you can have, so you can have all the faith you need to move any mountain of sickness and disease and to believe all the promises of God.
Keep in mind that God is a god of wisdom and knowledge, and He knows it is needless to give you more faith when you will not use what you already have. Faith is like money—it is no good unless you use it. There are people who have starved to death even though they had millions of dollars in the bank.
Faith Pleases God
You have to put faith in a place where it can grow. When you put faith in your heart and cover it with the divine blood, you can have the nine fruits of the Spirit. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance (Galatians 5:22,23). Those fruits are not produced in Heaven but inside of you. You must furnish the soil of your soul; but that soil has to be pure, clean, obedient and holy. Be ye holy; for I [God] am holy (I Peter 1:16).
To have all the divine fruits of the Spirit, you must live holy and have the Holy Ghost living inside of you because they are His fruits. They are power, and Holy Ghost power is what makes us witnesses. But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth (Acts 1:8).
You must live by faith and not in your feelings. The Bible says, The just shall live by faith (Romans 1:17). That is what is wrong with some of you, saith the Lord; you are living in your feelings. You don’t feel the need to do all God wants you to, and you don’t feel the need to go to church all the time; but you must if you want to please God. But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him (Hebrews 11:6).
We are to be the Lord’s Enochs of today. He pleased God so much that the Lord took him to Heaven alive. By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God (Hebrews 11:5).
You cannot please God without exercising faith, being born of the Spirit and living a holy, sanctified life. When Jesus was here, He prayed to the Father, Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth (John 17:17). Jesus was the Word. And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth (John 1:14).
Faith Requires Love
You must exercise faith to have the life it brings. You must learn to yield to faith and cultivate it because if you don’t, the Lord told me that it will dry up.
You cannot have divine faith without divine love. I Corinthians 13 gives the definition of God’s love; and without that love, you are nothing. Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity [love], I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal. And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity [love], I am nothing (I Corinthians 13:1,2). If you really love God, you will do everything you can for Him.
To exercise faith, you must have and keep the first love you received at Calvary. Jesus warned the church at Ephesus of the danger of losing their first love. Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love. Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent (Revelation 2:4,5).
God has done everything He can for mankind. He told me Himself that when He gave Jesus and made a Calvary for us, it was the only time He had ever used all of His love. He said He had no more love to give and that was why He had to turn His back and not come down to Earth in judgment.
Just like divine faith is a gift, so is God’s divine love; and there is no limit to how much you can have. When you come to God, He gives you an unlimited capacity in your soul for divine love and faith, but you cannot just carry them around; you have to use them.
Some of you have never learned how to use God’s love and faith; but if you would, you could get rid of so many things that hinder you. You would recognize when the devil is trying to torment you, and you would pay no attention to him. You would meet him like Jesus did in the wilderness saying, It is written (Matthew 4:4). Then you could turn around, and the devil would be gone.
You don’t have to be afraid of the devil because you can have victory over him. You are not the devil’s slave; you are a servant of the Lord, so act like one. The Lord’s servants are not in bondage; they live in liberty and freedom and in the love and faith of Heaven. They are happy because they have the joy, the healing powers and the miracles of Heaven.
God is moving in miraculous ways today, and we can have close contact with Him. He said, Come now, and let us reason together (Isaiah 1:18). To reason with God, you have to exercise faith and listen to Him. Jesus said seven different times in the book of Revelation, He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith (Revelation 2:7,11,17,29; 3:6,13,22). My ears are always ready to hear what the Spirit is saying day and night.
Use Miracle Faith
My mom exercised her faith, and God used her to teach that faith to me. When something would go wrong or I felt like I was getting sick, she would say, “Honey, you had better get up your faith; the devil is going to try you.” Because of Mom, I had more faith when I was a sinning teenager than most Christians do today.
Where did Mom get her faith? She got it from God, and so many people depended on her faith. She never claimed to have anything but the gift of the Holy Ghost; yet when she prayed for people, they were healed of all manner of sicknesses and diseases. God used her to pray for the sick more often than He used the pastors, but she was such a humble person that no pastor ever seemed to resent her or become jealous. She had no ego whatsoever, but she had the anointing of God; and she lived close to Him.
If I came home from school with a high fever, it did not matter to Mom how many kids in my class were out with the flu. She would stop whatever she was doing; and in all faith, she would lay her hand on my head and pray. Then I would go out to play knowing that everything would be all right, and I would wake up the next morning feeling fine and not miss a day of school.
My mother represented God to me, and she had so much power through faith. Jesus said, And these signs shall follow them [people who exercise faith] that believe…they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover (Mark 16:17,18). If Mama ever got sick, she would never ask anybody to pray for her until she had first prayed for herself; and I never forgot that.
You don’t need to have any of the nine gifts of the Spirit to be able to pray for people and have them get well. You can exercise your faith by using a blest cloth, speaking the Word or the laying on of hands; and people today are receiving miracles through the blest cloth just as they did in Paul’s day. And God wrought special miracles by the hands of Paul: So that from his body were brought unto the sick handkerchiefs or aprons, and the diseases departed from them, and the evil spirits went out of them (Acts 19:11,12).
This ministry sends out thousands of blest cloths, and people are being healed through them. One testimony we received told of five lepers who were cleansed and completely made whole by using just one blest cloth. The blest cloth is a healing ministry within itself.
Faith must be used for miracles to take place. The Bible says, The prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up (James 5:15). Many people in America today make fun of me for laying hands on people, but that doesn’t matter because I get results. The blind receive their sight; the deaf hear, and the crippled are made to walk. People with AIDS and other deadly diseases are healed, and people bound by the devil are set free.
If you are not getting the miracles you need, you must find out why. Are you in a waiting period with God, or are you doing something that is hindering Him? Are you exercising divine faith; or is the Lord saying, O ye of little faith (Matthew 8:26)? I never want the Lord to say that to me.
Divine faith builds you up; it never tears you down, and it will let you know whether or not you are in God’s waiting room. If you are in His waiting room in the right spirit, you will have the patience you need to wait until the Lord lifts you up. You may think you are going down; but sometimes, you first have to go down before you can be lifted up.
Healed through Faith
The woman with the issue of blood exercised faith. She never spoke to Jesus; but she said to herself, If I may but touch his garment, I shall be whole (Matthew 9:21). That woman had suffered with a blood disease for twelve years. She had spent all she had on doctors, but she got worse instead of better; so when she heard about Jesus, she exercised her faith. A certain woman, which had an issue of blood twelve years, And had suffered many things of many physicians, and had spent all that she had, and was nothing bettered, but rather grew worse, When she had heard of Jesus, came in the press behind, and touched his garment. And straightway the fountain of her blood was dried up; and she felt in her body that she was healed of that plague (Mark 5:25-27,29).
The Bible tells of ten lepers who were cleansed, but only one exercised faith and went back to give thanks. And as he [Jesus] entered into a certain village, there met him ten men that were lepers, which stood afar off: And they lifted up their voices, and said, Jesus, Master, have mercy on us. And when he saw them, he said unto them, Go shew yourselves unto the priests. And it came to pass, that, as they went, they were cleansed. And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, and with a loud voice glorified God, And fell down on his face at his feet, giving him thanks…And he [Jesus] said unto him, Arise, go thy way: thy faith hath made thee whole (Luke 17:12-16,19). I believe the leper who returned was the only one who was made completely whole with no evidence that he had ever had leprosy.
You must exercise divine faith to receive the miracles and healings you need because human faith will only depend on the things of nature—medicines and other things that man has created. I believe that Jesus heals today just like He did when He walked the Earth. The Bible says, Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and today, and forever (Hebrews 13:8).
I went to death’s door when I was just twenty-three. My body went down to about a skeleton, and I thought my faith was gone. I was getting worse and worse until I thought for sure I would be dead in just a few more days. Then Jesus came one night and made me whole all over. I knew I was going to live, and that miracle still lives in me today.
I had been so close to my miracle, but I just didn’t know it; however, I know now that I had to go through all of that because I was going to have the healing ministry. I had to know how people would feel when they were facing death, and that is why I can hold on to God so much for people to receive their miracles. I despise death; and the Bible says, The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death (I Corinthians 15:26). Death came from the devil, and the Lord hates it; so we should hate the things that He hates.
Jesus Had the Holy Spirit
God walks with those who are consecrated and dedicated to Him; so you have to be in step with Him, with the Son and with the Holy Ghost. God gave us the Holy Ghost to guide our footsteps just as Jesus had Him. And John bare record, saying, I saw the Spirit descending from heaven like a dove, and it abode upon him. And I knew him not: but he that sent me to baptize with water, the same said unto me, Upon whom thou shalt see the Spirit descending, and remaining on him, the same is he which baptizeth with the Holy Ghost. And I saw, and bare record that this is the Son of God (John 1:32-34).
Jesus did not start His ministry until He had received the Holy Ghost, and then the Spirit led Him into the wilderness to fast for forty days and nights. And Jesus being full of the Holy Ghost returned from Jordan, and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness, Being forty days tempted of the devil. And in those days he did eat nothing (Luke 4:1,2).
When His fast was over, the Bible tells us He was in the temple saying, The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, To preach the acceptable year of the Lord (Luke 4:18,19). Jesus, the Son of God, was exercising all of His faith; and He had come to Earth as very man to be our example.
You have to pattern your life after Jesus, but some of you don’t feel the need of the Holy Ghost. I knew I had to have Him; and when I was a young boy, I loved to watch people receive the Holy Ghost. Some of them would get so pale around their mouths right before the Holy Ghost would come in, and then they would begin speaking in a heavenly language. Growing up, I never heard anyone talk about teaching people to speak in tongues, and I don’t allow that in my church today. The Lord says you have to use faith to accept the Spirit of truth in all of His power and glory, and then you have to accept all of His teaching.
It isn’t enough just to receive the Holy Ghost; you have to yield to Him because He came to be your helper, comforter and guide. He is the great teacher, and you must have Him to be able to preach and teach the Word of God. But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you (John 14:26).
Some of you may have the Holy Ghost, but the Holy Ghost does not have you; and that is why you will not volunteer to work for the Lord. God can only use those who will allow Him to, and He told me that He gets as much as He can out of people; but some people will only give fifty or sixty percent while others may give as little as thirty or forty percent. I want to please God all the time, so people who don’t do that make me feel sorry for Him.
Never Fight the Holy Ghost
Many churches today are doing away with the Holy Ghost. Many will not allow people to seek Him out in the open where others can see them because they are ashamed of God’s power, and they feel it is not dignified to speak in tongues; but a church that will not yield to divinity and the divine Holy Ghost power will not have miracles.
Today, even Pentecostal preachers fight the healing ministry; but when they do, they are blaspheming against the Holy Ghost. They fight speaking in other tongues when the Bible says, Forbid not to speak with tongues (I Corinthians 14:39). People who do that will miss the Rapture. For whosoever shall be ashamed of me and of my words, of him shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he shall come in his own glory, and in his Father’s, and of the holy angels (Luke 9:26).
Jesus is coming after a Church without spot, wrinkle, blemish or any such thing; and you cannot get rid of all those things without the Holy Ghost. That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish (Ephesians 5:27). You cannot even come to the Lord in the first place unless you are drawn by the Holy Spirit.
Everyone Needs the Holy Ghost
The Church was born when Christ’s side was pierced while He was on the Cross; but He had already told the disciples that they could not start the Church until they had received the Holy Ghost, power from On High. And [Jesus], being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, saith he, ye have heard of me. For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence (Acts 1:4,5).
The Holy Ghost was so important that after Jesus had been resurrected and ascended back to Heaven, He returned to Earth and stayed for forty days to teach the disciples about the Holy Ghost. He [Jesus] through the Holy Ghost had given commandments unto the apostles whom he had chosen: To whom also he shewed himself alive after his passion by many infallible proofs, being seen of them forty days, and speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God (Acts 1:2,3).
Before Pentecost, Jesus had a hard time teaching the apostles about the Holy Ghost; and God told me that was why they had failed. If you don’t get the Holy Ghost, you will fail, too; you will not make it in this hour. Thus saith the Lord, those who fail the Holy Ghost, the tongue of fire, will not be a blessing but a curse in this final hour. The Bible describes them saying, Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition (II Thessalonians 2:3).
Paul also knew the importance of the Holy Ghost; and he said, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost. And he said unto them, Unto what then were ye baptized? And they said, Unto John’s baptism. Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus. When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied (Acts 19:2-6).
When the Gentiles began receiving the Holy Ghost, Peter was one of the disciples God used to bring it about. When he was telling of speaking to Cornelius’ household, he said, As I began to speak, the Holy Ghost fell on them, as on us at the beginning (Acts 11:15). How had the disciples received the Spirit? They were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance (Acts 2:4).
The Church of Jesus Christ began with the Holy Ghost, and they kept that tongue of fire for the first thirty-three years; but when they lost that tongue, the signs and the wonders failed. Today, the Lord is again pouring out His Spirit just like He said He would. And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh (Acts 2:17).
Contend for Great Faith
Is your faith growing? Do you have more faith today than you did yesterday? The Lord said for us to earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints (Jude 1:3). Hebrews 11 is the faith chapter, and it will give you just a sample of what it means to have the faith that was delivered to the saints. Read that chapter in faith; and instead of using the names of the saints mentioned there, insert your name. By the time you finish that chapter, you will be using more divine faith than you were before.
One day, I started on my journey to get the faith of those saints, and I told God I would pay any price to receive it; but I didn’t know what I was asking for. I felt like all hell was coming against me day and night; but I continued fasting, praying and looking to God. I told Him I would not give up until I had received that faith, and I got it; but I had to pay a great price. I had to exercise faith like I had never exercised it before.
During that time, the Lord kept bringing Job before me. He said, Though he slay me, yet will I trust in him (Job 13:15); and God gave me that same spirit. I had never before understood Job like I did then; and now, he has become very close to me.
Job said, Behold, my witness is in heaven, and my record is on high (Job 16:19). You have to exercise faith to believe that statement when everything is going wrong, but Job’s wife did not do that; and she wanted him to curse God and die. Then said his wife unto him, Dost thou still retain thine integrity? curse God, and die. But he said unto her, Thou speakest as one of the foolish women speaketh. What? shall we receive good at the hand of God, and shall we not receive evil? In all this did not Job sin with his lips (Job 2:9,10). Job told his wife that she talked like a sinner rather than a godly woman.
Job’s children were all killed and his possessions were destroyed. His so-called friends were no help to him and only criticized him. It was an awful time for Job as he sat in the ash heap covered with boils. So went Satan forth from the presence of the LORD, and smote Job with sore boils from the sole of his foot unto his crown. And he took him a potsherd to scrape himself withal; and he sat down among the ashes (Job 2:7,8).
Use What Jesus Brought
Ask God to help you exercise your faith, so you can walk and talk like Jesus. You must be the living, walking epistle of Christ that the Bible describes. Forasmuch as ye are manifestly declared to be the epistle of Christ ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tables of stone, but in fleshy tables of the heart (II Corinthians 3:3). You must be just like Jesus because you are the only Bible many people will ever “read.” Exercise faith to know that you can truly be a son or a daughter of God. But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name (John 1:12).
When Jesus came to Earth, He brought the divine will of God for the human race. He brought a holy life without strife, envy or hate; and no guile was ever found in Him. Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps: Who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth (I Peter 2:21,22).
Jesus brought a sinless life. The Bible says, The soul that sinneth, it shall die (Ezekiel 18:4). Just one sin ruined the whole world. The Lord had told Adam and Eve that they would die if they went to the tree of death, and they did die spiritually. And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die (Genesis 2:16,17). Thousands of years passed before anybody could get back into the greatness of Eden; and to make that possible, God had to make a door in the form of the Old Rugged Cross.
When you fail to exercise divine faith like you should and instead try to use human faith, it can make you doubt your salvation and even your baptism in the Holy Ghost; but you cannot allow that to happen. If the Holy Ghost has really taken over your tongue, you know it. I know that I received the real Holy Ghost just like the disciples did on the Day of Pentecost; and if all the legions of hell and all the people on Earth who hate the Holy Ghost would come against me at one time, they could never make me doubt that tongue of fire.
Fasting Brings Spiritual Life
Exercising faith makes you willing to fast. The Bible says, This kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting (Matthew 17:21); but today, so many people do not fast. One preacher even said that we don’t have to fast because the Lord did it for us, but that was not what Jesus said. When people wanted to know why His disciples did not fast, He said, Can the children of the bridechamber mourn, as long as the bridegroom is with them? but the days will come, when the bridegroom shall be taken from them, and then shall they fast (Matthew 9:15). Jesus said His disciples would fast after He was gone, and then He sent us the Holy Ghost to teach us to fast. I am led by the Spirit on all of my long fasts.
Some people fast, but they get nothing out of it because they don’t approach it right. They only fast to be noticed like the Pharisees and Sadducees did, and that does not count with God. You have to take time with God on a fast and seek Him. The Bible says, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God (Matthew 4:4). You must dine on the Word when you are fasting and take time to study it; but some of you don’t even though Jesus is calling, Come and dine (John 21:12). The Lord’s table is spread with everything we need.
I have spent thousands of hours with the scriptures, always learning from them and coming into more knowledge of the truth; and God reveals so much to me because I seek His face. Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth (II Timothy 2:15). Some churches encourage people to read through the Bible many times, but that doesn’t mean a thing if they don’t study it.
You must use faith to believe the whole Bible and accept nothing but the truth. If you don’t understand something you read in the Bible, just pause and exercise more faith; and the Holy Ghost will teach you. The Bible is your Book of faith, and it tells you what to do and how to do it. You will find all the answers you need in life in the Bible if you will stay in it long enough to find your name beside every promise of God. Then you have to exercise faith to accept the Lord as the Almighty God of all flesh who has all power and to accept everything about Jesus, the Holy Ghost and the spiritual gifts.
Peter Failed
Peter exercised faith when he got off the boat and walked the waters as recorded in Matthew 14; but later, he backslid and cut off the ear of one of the soldiers who was sent to arrest Jesus. Then Simon Peter having a sword drew it, and smote the high priest’s servant, and cut off his right ear…Then said Jesus unto Peter, Put up thy sword into the sheath: the cup which my Father hath given me, shall I not drink it (John 18:10,11)? Jesus had taught His disciples not to use a sword but the Word, yet there was that man’s bloody ear on the ground because Peter had used his sword. Then Jesus reached down, picked up that ear and put it back on the man. And Jesus…touched his ear, and healed him (Luke 22:51). The man’s ear was as good as new with no sign that it had ever been cut off.
The people who saw that miracle had a chance to believe that Jesus was the Christ, the Creator, and that He could do anything; but they did not want to believe. Then Peter got mad at Jesus and ran away to pout. Earlier, Peter had told Jesus that he would die before he would deny Him; but the Lord had warned him saying, Verily I say unto thee, That this night, before the cock crow, thou shalt deny me thrice. Peter said unto him, Though I should die with thee, yet will I not deny thee (Matthew 26:34,35). Peter did deny his Savior three times just as Jesus had said he would.
Now Peter sat without in the palace: and a damsel came unto him, saying, Thou also wast with Jesus of Galilee. But he denied before them all, saying, I know not what thou sayest. And when he was gone out into the porch, another maid saw him, and said unto them that were there, This fellow was also with Jesus of Nazareth. And again he denied with an oath, I do not know the man. And after a while came unto him they that stood by, and said to Peter, Surely thou also art one of them; for thy speech bewrayeth thee. Then began he to curse and to swear, saying, I know not the man. And immediately the cock crew (Matthew 26:69-74). When Peter cursed, I am sure the people decided that he was not one of Jesus’ disciples because they knew His disciples did not curse. Think about how Peter must have felt when he heard the cock crow. He and all the other disciples except John had failed Jesus in His time of need.
No Divine Power Means Defeat
The reason John was able to be such an overcomer was because he was the beloved one who loved Jesus with his whole heart. Although John was the youngest apostle, he was the only one who risked his life to be at the foot of the Cross when Jesus was crucified. He was the one who was leaning on the breast of Jesus at the Last Supper, and he was the one to whom Jesus delivered His mother. Now there stood by the cross of Jesus his mother…When Jesus therefore saw his mother, and the disciple standing by, whom he loved, he saith unto his mother, Woman, behold thy son! Then saith he to the disciple, Behold thy mother! And from that hour that disciple took her unto his own home (John 19:25-27). John showed great love in keeping Mary with him in his home until she went to Heaven.
After denying Jesus, Peter later found forgiveness and did get back to God; but it took the Holy Ghost to keep him holy or he never would have made it. He received the Spirit’s tongue of fire on the Day of Pentecost, and he never failed again.
Peter became a great apostle, and he did not hide away or become ashamed as some do today; he boldly told the Jews, “You crucified Him!” Ye men of Israel, hear these words; Jesus of Nazareth, a man approved of God among you by miracles and wonders and signs, which God did by him in the midst of you, as ye yourselves also know: Him, being delivered by the determinate counsel and foreknowledge of God, ye have taken, and by wicked hands have crucified and slain: Whom God hath raised up, having loosed the pains of death: because it was not possible that he should be holden of it (Acts 2:22-24).
The Bible plainly says the Jews killed the Son of God; but they did not believe it then, and they don’t believe it today even though the Jews were the ones who said, His blood be on us, and on our children (Matthew 27:25).
The Jews have failed God so many times down through the years. They have been disobedient and rebellious, and the prophets of old could never get them to obey God for any length of time. Even when God separated the waters of the Red Sea, they did not remember that miracle for long.
It is no wonder that the Children of Israel had to wander in the wilderness for forty years before they could enter the land of Canaan. Even when Moses was on the mount receiving the Ten Commandments from God Himself, the people made a golden calf to worship. And the LORD said unto Moses, Go, get thee down; for thy people, which thou broughtest out of the land of Egypt, have corrupted themselves: They have turned aside quickly out of the way which I commanded them: they have made them a molten calf, and have worshipped it, and have sacrificed thereunto, and said, These be thy gods, O Israel, which have brought thee up out of the land of Egypt (Exodus 32:7,8).
People are still worshiping their “golden calves” of money and material possessions today just like the Lord said they would. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy (II Timothy 3:2).
Divine Faith Never Fails
If you are not getting things done through the grace of God, it is because you are using human faith. Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone (James 2:17). Divine faith is powerful, and it will do great things for you; but to be able to exercise it, your human spirit has to be sanctified and holy before God. You must lift up only holy hands that are connected with a pure heart; but if you have one speck of sin in your life, you cannot use divine faith.
If you are not getting your prayers answered, you are not exercising divine faith because divine faith touches the throne of God. It gives you a direct line to Heaven so you can say as Jesus did, Father, I thank thee that thou hast heard me. And I knew that thou hearest me always (John 11:41,42).
Divine faith and love have Heaven’s voice, and the two together will help you to get your prayers through to God. The Bible says, Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need (Hebrews 4:16). Through faith, you can boldly appear before God’s throne while you are right here on Earth.
Because of Jesus, there is no partition to keep you away from the throne of God like there was in Old Testament days. For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us (Ephesians 2:14). When Jesus died on Calvary, the veil in the temple was torn. And Jesus cried with a loud voice, and gave up the ghost. And the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom (Mark 15:37,38). Now, we can go before the throne of grace any time of the day or night. What a privilege! You cannot call Heaven on the phone or send a letter there, but you can talk to the Lord any time through divine faith and love.
Divine faith brings the helping hands of God to you, and they will give you all you need because they are hands of supply from Heaven. My God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:19).
Get Rid of Your Burdens
People are loaded down with so many unnecessary burdens when the Lord said we are to cast our burdens upon Him. Cast thy burden upon the LORD, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved (Psalm 55:22). When Jesus was here, He said, Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest (Matthew 11:28). If you don’t have divine faith and exercise it, you will never be able to take your burdens to the Lord. You have to be anointed to use divine faith and divine blood, and then you will always have someone you can take your burdens to.
If you are a child of God, you have divinity in your heart. The blood has been applied to your soul, and you are a brand-new creature. If any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new (II Corinthians 5:17). When you are born new, you are like the first Adam was before he sinned—you can talk to God and walk hand in hand with Him just like the first Adam and Eve did. If you remain harmless and blameless before God and justified in His presence, then you will never walk alone; He will always hold your hand.
Christians today carry so many unnecessary burdens rather than the burden for lost souls that the Lord wills for them to carry. You must have the same cry of divine compassion that Jesus had on the Cross. Then you will have the burden for all the lost souls Jesus died for, and you will have faith that brings results. You will be able to go boldly in before the throne of grace and come out delivered in the freedom and liberty of Jesus Christ. If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed (John 8:36).
We are living in a grace dispensation, and all the favor of Heaven you need is available; but you have to go God’s way. Are you free today, or are you always crying about things you can do nothing about? You need to unload your problems on Jesus and cry the same tears of compassion that He cried on Calvary. Those are tears that He loves to see—not tears of water and salt but of love from the heart, tears of yearning to give your whole life to win the lost at any cost.
Many times, you may go without things you need because you will not turn your burdens of need over to the Lord. You may ask for His help, but only when you ask in faith believing will you get somewhere. Every promise in the Word of God is conditional. The Lord says, “If you do something little, I will do something big. If you do what I have asked you to, I will take care of you.”
God’s grace will abound for you; and divine faith will bring you the strength you need to climb every mountain, to walk through every valley and to overcome anything you face. It will enable you to do all God wants you to do with great patience, tenderness, gentleness and all the other wonderful divine fruit. You will not be down and depressed but rejoicing and enjoying the goodness of God.
Have No Fear
Divine faith brings continual happiness; but when you use human faith, you can be happy one moment and sad the next. Everything may be fine one moment and chaos the next. When you have the divine faith of God, you know your tomorrows will be all right and that God will be with you all the way. For he [the Lord] hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee (Hebrews 13:5). Now, what do you have to be sad about?
When you are sad, ask yourself why. Some of you walk around so burdened down, yet you don’t even know what your burden is about. The devil is robbing you because when the Lord gives you a burden, He will let you know about it. He is a sensible God who knows what you can bear. God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it (I Corinthians 10:13).
Never go to bed carrying a nervous burden or you may be afraid to go to sleep because you are worried about what might happen. If you do that, you might as well stay awake and see what happens since you don’t have enough faith to conquer it. You may claim that you have faith; but it is only talking faith, shouting faith or singing faith. One person told me, “I have all the faith in the world”; and that was what was wrong with him—he had the wrong kind of faith. You don’t need all kinds of faith; you just need the divine faith of God.
The Bible tells us, Have faith in God (Mark 11:22). When you exercise faith, it will destroy all doubt and fear; but if you fail to use it, those ugly things will be there. There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear (I John 4:18). The Lord gives you the faith and love you need to conquer fear. The Bible says that faith will destroy everything that is unlike God and Heaven. Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked (Ephesians 6:16).
Vengeance Belongs to God
If you have God’s faith, love and power today, then you have nothing to fear or worry about. Why go through life afraid when you don’t have to? By faith, you will know that your hand is in God’s hand; and if that doesn’t take all the doubt out of you, then put both hands in His. You will find that faith works.
When you exercise faith, you will let the Lord take care of your enemies. If people treat me wrong, I don’t argue with them; I just turn them over to God. He said, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord (Romans 12:19). Some of you will not let Him do that because you think you can do a better job on your own, but you can’t. Nevertheless, you beat your head against the wall for quite a while before you decide to turn things over to the Lord when you should have decided that long ago.
When you carry something around in your heart against another person, you are hurting yourself; and your enemies are getting the best of you. Grudges and other such things will not mix with divine faith, divine love and divine grace; so you cut off your divine supply through your disobedience, and that is why some of you have it so hard. Only perfect obedience before God brings perfect results.
Faith Brings Help from On High
Whenever you read about a person in the Word of God who used divine faith, you will see that divine help came down from Heaven. In Old Testament days, divine help came to Noah for 120 years while he was building the ark of escape; but he and his family had to use divine faith to be able to receive that divine help. By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith (Hebrews 11:7).
Noah and his family had to stay separated. They could not mingle with disobedient people, friends or even relatives because they had to stay in the grace of God and keep working. The reason many Christians do not accomplish much for God today is because they mingle with the world too often and don’t spend enough time with the Lord. If they would spend more time with God, they would be working for Him and getting people ready to get out of here.
Thank God, Jesus is our ark today. We don’t have to build on Him; we just have to help build His Kingdom. It is time to offer ourselves as living sacrifices which are holy unto the Lord. I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service (Romans 12:1).
The Lord wants to renew our youth so we can keep working for Him and have His wisdom and knowledge. The Bible says, Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits…Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle’s (Psalm 103:2,5). Many people never really believe that promise even though it is in the Word of God, and it is promised to you just as much as Heaven is promised to you.
You have to grow up in the Lord like Paul did. He said, When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things (I Corinthians 13:11). Some of you refuse to put away childish things, and you will not do the things the Lord asks you to. You may say you want to do something for God, but then you claim you can’t find anything to do. I’m sure there are nursing homes all around you where you could go and help somebody, and millions of people throughout the world need prayer.
Some people have no one to pray for them, and that is why this ministry receives thousands of prayer requests. I never run out of things to pray about, and I spend more time praying for others than I do praying for myself. However, when the Lord tells me to stop praying for certain people, I do. God does not want us to pray wasted prayers. He told Jeremiah, Therefore pray not thou for this people, neither lift up cry nor prayer for them, neither make intercession to me: for I will not hear thee (Jeremiah 7:16). If God ever says that about you, you are doomed. You can act smart and be arrogant with your parents and others about the Gospel of Jesus Christ; but one day, you will get your last call.
Use Divine Joy and Peace
Exercising your faith will give you joy. The Bible says, Rejoice evermore (I Thessalonians 5:16). You must have divinity in your spirit to be able to rejoice evermore and have joy unspeakable and full of glory (I Peter 1:8). When so-called Christians are discontented, they are not testimonies for the Lord; and when people have no joy, they have no strength in God’s Kingdom. The Bible says, For the joy of the LORD is your strength (Nehemiah 8:10). The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower (Psalm 18:2). The Lord must be your strength.
I never step on any platform to preach full of depression. I walk out on the mountaintop and anointed with so much joy that I feel like I could supply it to the whole world. When I see children of God looking so depressed about nothing, I want to shake them and say, “Wake up! Don’t you know who you are? Don’t you know you have divine faith and divine love that bring about divine healing?”
Joy and peace had disappeared from the Earth until Jesus came and brought them. Divine peace is a gift that you can have, but you must use it. You cannot refuse to use it just because there seems to be no peace around you. Every real child of God has that peace, but some of us use it more than others. Jesus said, Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid (John 14:27).
Help me take Jesus to the world, and you will have great joy. I have been winning souls for the Lord for over seventy years, and it makes me so happy. I have the joy of Heaven, the strength of Heaven, the happiness of Heaven and the peace of Heaven as I work for the Lord to carry this Gospel to the whole world.
If you have no real joy and happiness today, the faith of God will bring them to you. The devil will tell you that you can’t have them, but never listen to him; listen only to the voices of divine faith and love. God is the God of faith for all people, so you have it made. All you have to do is use the divinity He supplies for you every day.
The Lord said, Behold, I am the LORD, the God of all flesh: is there any thing too hard for me (Jeremiah 32:27)? You will never find anything to be too hard for God. He is our God, our whole heart, our life and our very breath. He is our everything, so all of our needs will be supplied.
Use Your Faith for Salvation
If you are unsaved today, why don’t you come to Jesus? Don’t look at those around you who claim to have the Lord but have dead faith. You will see no signs, wonders, miracles or healings in their lives; and you won’t see the works of Jesus. If Jesus had come with dead faith, we never would have heard about Him; but Jesus had live faith, and He exercised it. The blind received their sight; the deaf heard, and the crippled were made to walk. Jesus did wonderful works, and the Holy Ghost confirmed that on the Day of Pentecost. The Spirit spoke in different languages through the disciples, and the people who heard them declared, We do hear them speak in our tongues the wonderful works of God (Acts 2:11).
You have to let your faith increase to be able to use what Jesus brought, and you will need to use that faith to get out of here. Those who are filled with the Holy Ghost are going to leave when Jesus comes, and I believe that most of the people on Earth today will be living when the Rapture takes place.
Sinners, let’s pray and go to Calvary. Oh, God, save my soul. I am so sorry that I have sinned against you, but I have come home. I want your faith and love. I want to be delivered from all hate, and I want to be set free. I believe the blood of Jesus washes away all of my sins. Come into my heart, Jesus. Come on in!
If you meant that prayer, Jesus has come; and He is yours. Start praying, reading your Bible and spending time in His presence. Start using the faith that He has given you today and do some Bible fasting. Then, go on to receive the baptism of the Spirit the Bible tells about in the Acts of the Apostles. The Holy Ghost is real!
Exercise Your Faith for a Miracle
If you are sick and afflicted and need a miracle, exercise divine faith in the divine blood. The Lord taught me and gave me His revelation of the blood, but human faith will not use it; only exercising divine faith will do it. You may have AIDS, but the Lord is healing entire families of AIDS; and we are receiving testimonies of people being delivered. Even grandparents are getting miracles for their grandchildren by using divine faith in the Lord.
Are you ready to receive right now? The Lord has endowed me with His gifts, and He confirms them again and again. Lord, I bring the sick and afflicted to you. I use the divine blood that Jesus brought because the Bible tells us that the divine blood heals all physical diseases. Lay a healing hand on them, Lord. I curse all of their diseases—AIDS, leprosy, heart trouble, cancer, paralysis and all deadly diseases that are working in them. Heal! in the blood name of Jesus. Heal! with mighty miracle power through the divine blood of Jesus. Heal!
The Bible declares, With his [Jesus’] stripes we are healed (Isaiah 53:5). Decide you are going to get well; and when the doctor verifies that your disease is gone, write and tell me about it so we can share it with others. If you receive a miracle for AIDS, don’t be afraid to send us your testimony because we will not use your name unless you want us to.
Always remember God’s benefits and receive all the miracles you need. Jesus is healing people today, and we have miracles and healings in all of our services both at home and in our great overseas crusades. Jesus is the same today as He was when He walked the shores of Galilee and the streets of Jerusalem healing the people.
