Eagle Christians and Sparrow Christians
by Ernest Angley
October 2011
If you’re a Christian today, you must know that there are two kinds of Christians—eagle Christians and sparrow Christians. You’re one or the other, and this message will help you decide which one you are.
First, you must study the eagle in the light of God’s Word. Eagles love the storms because when they spread their great wings, the wind carries them above the clouds. The Lord said that if we would wait on Him, we’d mount up like the eagle. But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint (Isaiah 40:31).
You Must Leave the Nest
Eagles build their nests way up high, so it’s no wonder that the little eaglets are afraid to fly at first. Their mom and dad have a hard time getting their little ones out of the nest, and it’s the same way with some of us—God has a hard time getting us out of our nest and making us fly.
Eagles make their nests with twigs, leaves and other materials; and I understand that they even put thorns in the bottoms of them—but that’s for a purpose. At first, they cover the thorns with feathers; but when it comes time for the eaglets to leave the nest, Mom starts to pull out the feathers. It’s no longer the cozy nest it once was. Then the mother spreads her wings and stirs up the nest. As an eagle stirreth up her nest, fluttereth over her young, spreadeth abroad her wings, taketh them, beareth them on her wings (Deuteronomy 32:11). The Lord does the same thing with us—He flutters over us to stir us up so we’ll get out of our nest and learn to mount higher with Him. But some Christians are afraid to mount higher, and they won’t pay the price.
Learn to Fly
Think about the little eaglets again as they look out of their nest. It’s a long way down, and they don’t know how to fly; so Mom eagle encourages them to get on her wings, and she takes them for a ride. When she takes off, they hold on for dear life; but eventually, they learn to like the ride because she sails around so beautifully. Just when the eaglets start to get relaxed and stop holding on so tightly, the mother sweeps out from under them. They don’t try to fly at first because they’re scared and too busy screaming, so they begin to fall.
Doesn’t that remind you of some Christians? The Lord wants them to fly, to take on His strength and grow up; but they just scream and carry on thinking that God doesn’t love them or that they’re going to die.
Sometimes, Mom eagle allows her little ones to fall so far that you’d think they’re going to die; but at the last minute, she swoops back under them. I’m sure they’re glad to get back on those wings; and when they get back to their nest, they all jump off of her wing determined to never leave again. However, Mom keeps pulling the soft feathers out and letting them down on the thorns.
The Lord wants His children to mount up high just like the eagles; so at times, He has to let us down on thorns to get us moving. The thorns keep getting sharper underneath the eaglets; and when they feel miserable, Mom eagle knows it’s time to take them for another ride. I don’t know how many times she takes them out, but she never gives up. She patiently keeps taking them out and sweeping out from under them until they finally learn to fly. Then she knows that her little ones will survive and grow to be strong.
The little eaglets have to look up before they can learn to fly and then keep looking higher so they’ll soon be able to soar above the storms. At first, the thunder and lightning scare them; but they have to get used to it if they want to reach their refuge above it all. We have to look up and know that we have a refuge above it all, too—God.
Sparrows Are Weak
God is strong, and He wants all of His children to be strong, too; that’s why Jesus came. He is the God of our salvation, and He loves and cares for us. The LORD is my strength and song, and he is become my salvation (Exodus 15:2).
Unfortunately, many Christians never become strong like the eagles, and they remain sparrow Christians. Sparrows can’t fly above the clouds; so they sit down in the storm, and they tremble as the thunder roars and the lightning flashes. God sees them huddled down in the storm and afraid they’re going to die, and His loving eyes watch over them. They’re really going through it, but God still cares for the sparrows. Jesus told us that His heavenly Father sees every little sparrow that falls. Are not two sparrows sold for a farthing? and one of them shall not fall on the ground without your Father (Matthew 10:29).
The Bible tells us that the Israelites came out of Egypt on eagles’ wings, not on sparrows’ wings. Ye have seen what I did unto the Egyptians, and how I bare you on eagles’ wings, and brought you unto myself (Exodus 19:4). God had to flutter over the Israelites to prepare them; and when it was time, Pharaoh was shocked at the way the Lord delivered His people. The Lord brought all three or four million of them out with His mighty hand and strength.
Don’t be a sparrow Christian when you can fly higher than the mountaintops and soar above all the storms of life just like the eagles. You have to learn to look up instead of down.
Some people have been sparrow Christians from the time they found the Lord. Paul was talking to sparrow Christians when he wrote, For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat. For every one that useth milk is unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe (Hebrews 5:12,13). Paul told the people that they were still on the milk of the Word when they should have been on meat and that they would have to grow up.
The Meat of the Word Makes You Strong
Paul said that when he became a man, he put away childish things. When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things (I Corinthians 13:11). The milk of the Word is wonderful for babes in Christ, but the time comes when you need the meat of the Word to make you strong. The meat of the Word is never spoiled; it’s meat from Heaven with all the strength of God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit in it. There will be storms in this life, but you don’t have to fear them. With God, you can soar above the persecutions and the tribulations and fly over all the valleys and mountain peaks.
God stretches forth His strong hand to you and takes you from strength to more strength. His wings of love are stronger than eagles’ wings, and they never droop. Those wings of the Lord have all the power you will ever need to soar high above everything that could tear you down. The lightning may flash, and the thunder may roar; but the sun of God’s glory will always beam down upon you. Learn to expect God’s glory to always come after the storm. Look for it, wait for it, dine on it and know that the Lord is there. He’s spreading His wings today, so climb on and come out of your trials and sicknesses. If you don’t feel like it or think you can, it’s because you’re too busy looking down.
Soar Above Sickness and Despair
When I was just 23, I was at death’s door; and I came to the place where I was looking down instead of looking up. I had suffered so long, and I was getting worse as more of my organs were being afflicted. My body had gone down to about a skeleton. If I ate, I felt like I was dying; and if I didn’t eat, I was starving to death. It looked like the Lord wasn’t going to bring me out; but God is God, and He was going to bring me out—He just wanted me to look up.
Then one night, the Lord came to me and made me whole all over. So much of His power went into me that I had never felt the power of God like that at any one time in my life. I reasoned with God that with so much power going into me that I couldn’t even stand on my own, no disease could stay. I knew that they all had to go, and I knew I was going to live. I had no fear.
That night, I really looked up high, all the way to Heaven. That night changed my life completely, and I became an eagle Christian for the rest of my days. I had already been one from the time God had saved me, but then I knew I would never turn back. The Lord had gifted me to preach and teach the Gospel, and I still love to deliver His messages today. I pray for the sick and afflicted with no doubt, and I never give up on anyone no matter how impossible a case may seem unless the Lord tells me He’s going to take a person home.
Claim Your Miracle Promise
Some people will receive a miracle, but they’ll let the devil make them doubt when they have false symptoms. They let the pain take the place of the promise of God. You have to close your case like the woman with the issue of blood did. The Bible tells us that she’d spent all of her living, so there was no next time for her. She was looking up when she said, If I may but touch his garment, I shall be whole (Matthew 9:21). She didn’t have to talk to Jesus; she just wanted to touch His garment.
Others were trying to receive what they needed their own way, but that woman took the faith way; and when she touched Jesus, He turned around and said, Daughter, be of good comfort; thy faith hath made thee whole. And the woman was made whole from that hour (Matthew 9:22). When the woman touched Jesus’ garment, she was actually touching the healing Christ; and she was made completely whole.
In Mark’s Gospel, we read of a father who brought his son to Jesus to be healed. The devil that bound him would cast him into the fire and into the water. Today, we would call what he had epilepsy, and it’s a terrible affliction. The father said to Jesus, I spake to thy disciples that they should cast him out; and they could not (Mark 9:18). Why could the disciples not help the boy?—because they were not fasting at that time, and they didn’t have Holy Ghost power from On High. When somebody asked Jesus why John the Baptist’s disciples fasted and His did not, He answered, Can the children of the bridechamber mourn, as long as the bridegroom is with them? but the days will come, when the bridegroom shall be taken from them, and then shall they fast (Matthew 9:15). Jesus said that His disciples would fast after He was gone, and they did. Today, the Lord’s true disciples are fasting people, too.
The father continued talking to Jesus pleading, If thou canst do any thing, have compassion on us, and help us (Mark 9:22). Notice that the man said “if”; but Jesus threw that “if” right back at him saying, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth. And straightway the father of the child cried out, and said with tears,Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief (Mark 9:23,24).
The Lord honored that father’s cry and said, Thou dumb and deaf spirit, I charge thee, come out of him, and enter no more into him. And the spirit cried, and rent him sore, and came out of him: and he was as one dead; insomuch that many said, He is dead. But Jesus took him by the hand, and lifted him up; and he arose (Mark 9:25-27). If you feel you’re not getting anywhere with God in your situation and you think you believe, it’s all right to say as that father did, “Lord, I do believe, but help any unbelief I may have.”
Only Believe
God can do anything if you’ll only believe; all things are possible in this last hour. I don’t look at hard cases and think of them as being impossible; I look at them knowing what the Lord can do and what glory He can get out of the miracles. The Lord is performing amazing mass miracles in all of our crusade services. Recently, God performed 12,000 miracles in just a matter of minutes; the Lord numbered them Himself. People were healed of AIDS and many other deadly diseases by the mighty power of God.
Someone from out of state sent me a wonderful testimony of a 14-year-old boy who had suffered so much with cancer. A member of my church gave the mother a blest cloth and the little pamphlet that explains how to use it. Later, she took her son to the doctor, and he could find no cancer. That’s what God can do!
People are healed all over the world through this Jesus ministry. The Lord lets me see inside people, and I watch Him while He re-creates parts of their bodies. It’s miraculous! People get to feel the power of the Lord, but I get to see it in action. I can see the star of Jesus coming down upon a person and watch them being healed. That miracle star destroys AIDS, heals cancer and re-creates hearts. I don’t claim to understand all of it; I just know it’s real, and it’s divinity. The angel of the Lord always stands by my side as tall as a man in every miracle service, and it’s amazing what God will do; but I always give Him all the honor, the praise and the glory.
When death is on your trail or you’re in the midst of a storm, all you need to do is look up; and all will be well. When you’re in deep despair and it seems like there is no joy left in life, just look up; and God will be there. With steadfastness of soul, we must rejoice and thank God the Father for His unfailing mercy, knowing that we will always have everything we need.
Rise above the Storms
Fly, Eagle, fly! Don’t be a little sparrow Christian when you can mount up like the eagle by waiting upon the Lord. When you wait on Him, you grow up; then you mount up like the eagle on wings of joy, grace, power and the will of God. He’s drawing you, so follow hard after Jesus. He’s spreading His wings for you; and under those wings you’ll find rest, healing and strength, and you’ll even find that your youth can be renewed. There’s nothing like the wings of the Lord.
The great outlook for your journey here on Earth is wonderful when you think about how the Lord will enable you to rise up above all of the storms of life like the eagle; but some of you remain little sparrows, and you’re always worried about something. If you don’t have anything to worry about at the time, then you’re really worried because you think something is wrong; and that’s the God’s truth. One time, I actually heard a child of God say, “I just know something awful is going to happen because we’ve been so happy, and everything has been going along so well.” Do you talk like that; do you expect trouble to come your way?
Some people talk only weak, sparrow talk. When you see an eagle flying above, he isn’t thinking about dying; and he doesn’t dread the storms of life. He’s up above them having a great time and getting more strength to go even higher. Some of you go around so depressed, looking down and listening to what people say when you would have so much more strength if you’d get rid of that depression. I don’t pay attention to what others have to say; the Lord gave me ears to hear what the Spirit is saying, and I listen to Him. He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith (Revelation 2:7).
It’s God’s will for you to be an eagle Christian. He wants you to wait upon Him so you can mount up above the storms of life with the strength of the eagle, but some of you allow the devil to aggravate you to death. Jesus didn’t allow that; He said, Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness’ sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake. Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven (Matthew 5:10-12). These verses come from the Beatitudes which are found in the Sermon on the Mount. Read all of them, and you’ll be blessed.
Jesus came and showed us how to be blessed and how to walk in the will of the Lord. Whenever you’re in His waiting room, you’ll be all right as long as you’re waiting on wings of love, peace, joy, power and grace.
Have No Doubt
Eagle Christians must go from faith to faith, never from faith to doubt. There’s no time to make room for doubt; it won’t get you anywhere. You have to leave it behind and soar above all the battles of the mind. If you’re being tormented in your mind, know that you don’t have to be. The Bible says, For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind (II Timothy 1:7). Those three things will give an eagle Christian unusual strength as well as peace, direction, wisdom and knowledge that an unsaved person will never have.
Today, so many people are on drugs or alcohol, fulfilling every lust of the flesh and destroying themselves. Everything they do is against the will of God, and they’re at the tree of death. Death is working on the inside of them, and soon they’ll be in hell if they don’t watch out. Their souls are numb with sin, and they can’t hear what the Spirit is saying because the devil has covered them up with deceit. Some of them think they’re going to Heaven, but their sins will send them to hell. God told the Israelites, Your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear (Isaiah 59:2).
You Have to Want God
It was not the will of God for man to go to hell. God created it for the devil and his angels; but because of man’s sins, Isaiah said that God had enlarged hell. Therefore hell hath enlarged herself, and opened her mouth without measure (Isaiah 5:14). God had to enlarge hell for people who live like the devil and love his power.
I’ve come in contact with people who couldn’t be delivered from the devils that possessed them, and God told me it was because they loved the power of the devil; it makes them feel good. Some people just don’t want God’s power; but they’re deceived, and that deceit is destructive.
The Lord lets me look into people’s souls; and if they’re devil-possessed, I can see the devils that bind them. He’ll even number those devils, but knowing that is not a good feeling; and the Lord had to really anoint me and help me to become adjusted to all that He shows me through the gift of the discerning of spirits. It was hard at first for me to even imagine that such hideous things could be in a person.
Sin brings all kinds of sorrows and calamities; but when people will do away with sin, God’s big love-handkerchief will wipe away all of their tears. Eagle Christians want no part of sin. They walk with King Jesus, and angels minister to them. Heavenly music is in their hearts and souls, and they’re enjoying Heaven’s best right here on Earth. They have nothing to worry about.
It’s time for people to wake up and know what they can be in the Lord, and it’s our business to tell them. We have to take Jesus to the whole world. We have to tell people that they can rise up to where we are—a place filled with the joy of the Lord. It’s wonderful to be what God wants you to be and to be able to bless others.
My parents and my two oldest sisters rose above the storms by looking up. They were born new and baptized in the good Holy Spirit with power from On High, and they lived holy just like Jesus did when He was on Earth. They had left the world completely behind, and they were happy. They had such a great desire to do God’s will that it wasn’t a burden to them. They were eagle Christians, not sparrows; and things didn’t get them down. They were too busy living holy and enjoying the blessings of God.
The Lord has called us to holiness. For God hath not called us unto uncleanness, but unto holiness (I Thessalonians 4:7). It’s sad that so few have accepted that call, and they don’t realize what it’s like to soar like the eagles.
Teach Children to Be Eagles
Many parents today are not training their children to live holy; instead, they’re training them to go to hell, and they don’t realize it. They’re training them to rise up against God and spit in His eye, and soon hell will be their destiny. When you train your children right, just like the little eaglets, there will come a time when they will stop looking down and desiring to be like other kids around them. They will come out of the world and find Jesus and the Holy Spirit. They will find contentment, satisfaction, direction and the will of God for their lives. That’s real life!
When parents fail, their children will be discontented. They won’t know the pleasure they can have in serving God or what it means to be on their way to Heaven with both of their hands in the nail-riven hands of Jesus. They won’t know what it means to be just like Jesus or to live in His will.
Many people miss the will of God in marriage. They don’t want God’s help in picking their mate, and they don’t want to be joined together by Him. Many times, that brings about divorce and plenty of heartache for the children; and many of them carry scars from it for the rest of their lives.
Children shouldn’t hear their parents fussing and fighting; they should hear them saying, “Everything is going to be all right. This family is going to trust God because He loves us and cares for us. We don’t have to be afraid of anything.” It’s wonderful to live and walk without fear and to know that all is well.
Mother and Daddy, if you’re a sparrow Christian today, you’re causing trouble in your family; and it’s affecting your children whether you realize it or not. You talk about weak things; and you court fear, frustration and despair. You keep the storms of life before your children, and it makes them miserable. In my family, we had so much joy and happiness; and you can have it, too. The joy of the LORD is your strength (Nehemiah 8:10).
Parents, you are the ones who must bring joy to your family. You must soar into heavenly sunshine and bring down armfuls of it to the little eaglets, your children. It’s wonderful for children to have a mother and dad who can touch Heaven and the throne of grace any time of the day or night, parents who will be by their bedsides when they’re sick saying, “God’s going to heal you; you’re going to be all right.”
Eagle Christians Must Look Up
Eagle Christians are full of divine love and divine grace, and they believe these promises of God: The LORD of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah (Psalm 46:7,11). I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness (Isaiah 41:10). The Lord didn’t say anything about eagles falling, not even in death. Eagles live much longer than sparrows because they are stronger and have more life. The Lord gave them the strength to fly above the sorrows, heartaches and dangers; so they don’t have to fear the lions, the bears or any kinds of storms. They are in the habit of looking up.
The Bible tells us in many places to look up, and that’s what Jesus told the blind man when He healed him. And he [Jesus] cometh to Bethsaida; and they bring a blind man unto him, and besought him to touch him. And he took the blind man by the hand, and led him out of the town; and when he had spit on his eyes, and put his hands upon him, he asked him if he saw ought. And he looked up, and said, I see men as trees, walking. After that he put his hands again upon his eyes, and made him look up: and he was restored, and saw every man clearly (Mark 8:22-25). Jesus wanted the man to look up from that time on.
The Bible tells us in Hebrews that we are to be looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith (Hebrews 12:2). You’ll never be an eagle when you look to self and others for your help. The Psalmist said, I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the LORD (Psalm 121:1,2). He also said, In the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up (Psalm 5:3).
The Psalmist David was always looking up. He’s the one who killed a lion and a bear and slayed Goliath with just a slingshot. He armed himself with five little stones—J-E-S-U-S—but he only needed to use one. And he [David] took his staff in his hand, and chose him five smooth stones out of the brook, and put them in a shepherd’s bag which he had, even in a scrip; and his sling was in his hand: and he drew near to the Philistine. And David put his hand in his bag, and took thence a stone, and slang it, and smote the Philistine in his forehead, that the stone sunk into his forehead; and he fell upon his face to the earth (I Samuel 17:40,49). Everybody else was scared, but the Lord’s wings of divine strength took David above all of that. When you have that upward look, you won’t go around being depressed or afraid.
Think God’s Thoughts
David not only looked up; he thought up. Paul wrote, Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things (Philippians 4:8). Do you think on these six things? If not, then that’s why you get so depressed, frustrated and afraid. You’re helping the devil to afflict you and ruin your health when you think about the wrong things because whatever you think is what you’ll talk about. If you think faith and love, you’ll talk about faith and love. If you think truth, you’ll talk about truth.
Many people talk themselves into depression and oppression; but the Bible says, God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him (Acts 10:38). A child of God can be depressed and oppressed by the devil but not possessed because devil possession is in the heart and soul. You can’t be saved and have devils in your soul; but you can be oppressed—and if you don’t look up, you will be.
I do my best to live each day just like Jesus did—with all of His love and grace—and to pray like He prayed saying, Father, I thank thee that thou hast heard me. And I knew that thou hearest me always (John 11:41,42). I know I’m always plugged into Heaven, and no static can get on that line. If there’s any static, it’s in us; and sparrow Christians will have static.
Do God’s Works
When you look up and think God’s thoughts, then you’ll do His work. Jesus said, I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work (John 9:4). Some people only do the work for the Lord that they want to do but not the work God wants them to do. They never consider when they get out of bed each day, “Lord, what do you want me to do for you?” When you choose to do your own thing, you can’t possibly soar like the eagle and have the Jesus life; and you won’t do God’s divine will.
The disciples didn’t look up when Jesus was here, so He had a hard time with them. They wouldn’t even stay awake and pray with Him for one hour when He needed them so much in the Garden of Gethsemane. And he [Jesus] cometh unto the disciples, and findeth them asleep, and saith unto Peter, What, could ye not watch with me one hour (Matthew 26:40)?
Do you stay awake to pray? How long has it been since you spent a night with the Father? The Lord spent so many nights with His Father, and He taught the disciples how to talk to Him, too. And he [Jesus] said unto them, When ye pray, say, Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name (Luke 11:2). What did Jesus mean by this? He was saying, “I’ve come to bring my Father to you, and now He is your Father, too. I’ve connected you with Heaven and made you nigh unto God’s throne through my divine blood that I brought.” But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ (Ephesians 2:13).
What Is Real Life?
Jesus made it possible for the disciples to be born new and become eagle Christians, but they didn’t always act like it. Do you always act like a born-new person? What do you call real life? Is it carrying on with a bunch of foolishness and going to places of the world, or is it being in the house of God and winning souls for the Lord?
So many who thought they were really living when they were out in the world have found that it wasn’t life at all. They found that they were dead in trespasses and sins and needed to have a resurrection. And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins (Ephesians 2:1). They needed to be able to say as Paul did, I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me (Galatians 2:20). When you can say that, then you’ll be flying so high with the Lord that nothing can ever hinder you.
Jesus came to make that possible when He made a gate back into Eden in the form of a cross. Adam and Eve had been shut out of Eden; but one day after thousands of years, a voice from the Cross could be heard saying, Whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely (Revelation 22:17). That means that we can have eternal life, eternal freedom! That’s the way Adam and Eve lived in Eden before they fell into the hands of the devil. That’s really living!
Real Love
Divine love brings real life; and to be an eagle Christian, you have to have that love. Do you carry the great love of God? For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life (John 3:16). The Lord told me that when He gave us Jesus, He gave His whole heart. He also said that the only time He ever used all of His love was when He made a Calvary for you and me. He had to turn His back on His only begotten Son, and He had no more love left to give. If you don’t accept that love, hell will be your destiny.
When a person gets saved, he receives what the Lord calls first love. In a letter to the first of the seven churches in Revelation, the Lord accused the church of losing their first love. I know thy works, and thy labour, and thy patience, and how thou canst not bear them which are evil: and thou hast tried them which say they are apostles, and are not, and hast found them liars: And hast borne, and hast patience, and for my name’s sake hast laboured, and hast not fainted. Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love (Revelation 2:2-4). This church had served the Lord and done some wonderful works, but then they had lost their first love.
First love draws people to God, so you have to spread that love. It will open the eyes of the spiritually blind so they can see their sins. It will bring conviction on people, and they’ll want to go to Calvary to get what you have. Many people can’t resist real love; but how much of that love do you have, and how much of it do you show? How much kindness, gentleness and goodness pour forth from you? You can cover yourself with man-made perfume and smell good to people, but you won’t smell good to God unless you have your first love…and only eagle Christians will have it.
The Bible tells us that we’re nothing without the love of God no matter who or what we think we are. Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity [love], I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal. And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity [love], I am nothing (I Corinthians 13:1,2).
The kind of love described here goes forth to draw people to Jesus. They will see that you’re different and know you have something that they don’t have. You have peace that they can’t understand, and they will want it. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7).
With this great love comes faith; and people will also want the faith you have, faith that comes from Heaven. The Bible says, But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him (Hebrews 11:6). Faith is a gift, and everyone is given a measure of faith. God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith (Romans 12:3). When you use that measure, God will give you another measure.
This love, peace and faith are all fruits of the Spirit. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance (Galatians 5:22,23). When you have all of these fruits, you’ll soar like the eagle and draw people to God. They won’t be able to resist your voice, your expression or your Jesus smile.
Be Ye Separate
Eagle Christians have to be a separated people. They’re not of the world just as Jesus was not of the world, and He prayed for their separation when He was here. He said, They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth. Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word (John 17:16,17,20). We’re set apart and sanctified, and this old world is not our home; we’re just pilgrims and strangers passing through. We must have the fragrance of Jesus Christ in our lives and sow only good seed.
The Lord is spreading His mighty wings for all children of God today so He can lift them up to sit in a heavenly place with Him. But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;) And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus (Ephesians 2:4-6). In that place, angels will minister to us. Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation (Hebrews 1:14)?
Are You an Eagle Christian?
Look up today and soar like the eagle. Then when the Rapture call goes forth, you’ll be caught up to meet the Lord in the air. You won’t fear the Rapture or be afraid that you might not make it. If you’re dissatisfied with the kind of Christian you are, it’s time to change; and if you’re a sinner, you must give your heart to the Lord.
Say this prayer right now: Oh, God, save my soul. I’m so sorry that I’ve sinned against you. Lord, I haven’t really been living; the devil has just deceived me and made me think that I’ve had real life. I’ve been in all the storms of life, and they’ve taken their toll on me. Please, God, in the name of Jesus, I confess all of my sins; and I ask for your forgiveness. I humble myself in the spirit of Jesus Christ. Forgive me, Lord. I believe the blood of Jesus washes away all of my sins. Come into my heart, Jesus. Come on in!
If you meant that prayer, now you can say, Hallelujah, He has come! I have the greatest gift of Heaven—Jesus! Go on and seek for more of God, and He’ll lead you to the Upper Room like He did the apostles many years ago when they were baptized with power from On High.
Reach Up for a Miracle
Now that God has lifted you out of doubt, fear, frustration and despair and taken you into faith, the Lord has sent me to lift you out of sickness. I’ve lifted multitudes out of that valley through the name of Jesus and His divine blood, and many of them were nigh unto death. You may be at death’s door with some terrible disease, but the Lord has sent me to rescue you and your little children who are sick.
Lord, I bring those with AIDS, cancer, diabetes, heart trouble, lung trouble, strokes, paralysis or leprosy. Your Word declares that Jesus went to the whipping post and that with His blood-stripes we have physical healing. Heal! in the blood-name of Jesus! Heal!
The Bible says, With his stripes we are healed (Isaiah 53:5); so reach out now. Healing is the children’s bread, and it’s on the table for you. The grace of God will abound for you if you’ll believe and allow it to. Remember that Jesus said, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth (Mark 9:23). You can’t just believe for a moment; you have to continue to believe. Then you’ll be all right.
Soar, Eagle, soar all the way up to the great throne of Lord God Almighty.
Write and tell me what happened to you today. God bless.
