Divine Faith vs. Human Faith

And now abideth faith, hope, charity [love], these three; but the greatest of these is charity (I Corinthians 13:13). This verse is talking about divine faith, divine hope and divine love. There is a big difference between human faith and divine faith, and many of God’s people have never been able to separate the two. Human faith is weak and limited while divine faith says, All things are possible to him that believeth (Mark 9:23). Divine healings and miracles come only through divine faith; so if you need one today, you have to come out of human faith and go into divine faith.
There are many different kinds of faith, but there is only one divine faith. What kind of faith do you have? The Bible says, Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith (II Corinthians 13:5). That is referring to divine faith, so are you really living in divine faith?
And Jesus answering saith unto them [His disciples], Have faith in God (Mark 11:22). That means to have the faith of God. Jesus went on to say that great things can happen when you use the faith of God. For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith (Mark 11:23). You can’t just have faith in God; you must have the faith of God and use it if you want to move the mountains in your life, and you can’t just use it once in a while.
Divine Faith Believes
Everything Jesus brought to Earth was divine; but you have to accept His divinity, or you won’t receive what you need from Him. When Jesus lived on Earth, many people didn’t recognize His divinity, especially those in His own town of Nazareth. When He went there, the people said, Is not this the carpenter’s son? is not his mother called Mary? and his brethren, James, and Joses, and Simon, and Judas? And his sisters, are they not all with us? Whence then hath this man all these things? And they were offended in him. But Jesus said unto them, A prophet is not without honour, save in his own country, and in his own house. And he did not many mighty works there because of their unbelief (Matthew 13:55-58).
People think the Lord will work under any circumstances, but that is not so. God will only work with faith. The only thing the people in Nazareth could think about was who Jesus was in the natural, so they had no faith in Him. Only those who accept Jesus to be more than a man will receive miraculous results.
Jesus said, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them (Mark 11:24). That is the faith God sent through Jesus Christ. You can pray and pray for something and still not receive; but when you pray in the divine faith of God, the Holy Spirit will make intercession for you according to the divine will of God. Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered (Romans 8:26).
Jesus will also make intercession for you. It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us (Romans 8:34).
Many people start out using divine faith; but when God doesn’t move for them right away, they slip into doubt, depression and fear. You can’t go from divine faith to human faith and expect to receive anything from God. The Bible says, For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from [divine] faith to [divine] faith (Romans 1:17). Divine faith doesn’t say, “Maybe this will happen”; divine faith is always confident and has full assurance in God.
Use Spiritual Sight
Many Christians today are bound with fear because they don’t continue using the divine faith they received at Calvary. Instead, they drop back into human faith; and that brings about human weakness, despair, sickness, fear and so much more.
The devil wants you to be afraid because that opens the door for him to bind you with so many other things as well. Job said, For the thing which I greatly feared is come upon me, and that which I was afraid of is come unto me (Job 3:25). Take a lesson from Job and don’t be afraid that certain things will happen to you. Don’t be afraid of diseases that may run in your family because Jesus came as the remedy for all our afflictions and diseases. You just have to go from faith to faith and believe.
Paul said we are to walk by [divine] faith, not by sight (II Corinthians 5:7). When you walk with human faith, you are walking by sight because you have to see before you will believe. When you walk with divine faith, you will see things with spiritual sight; and you will believe to see the goodness of the Lord like the Psalmist did. I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living (Psalm 27:13).
When you have spiritual sight, you can see God’s hand moving. You see His miracles, and you know they are divine miracles from Heaven. For some people, it doesn’t matter what God does because they always cover up His miracles with doubt or say they are just fanaticism. Those people are blind to the things of God because they don’t want to see. You must use spiritual vision and divine faith to see as God sees. Then you will behold God doing things that would be impossible to do any other way.
Divinity Must Work Within
You can only receive what the Lord serves through divinity; and when you let divinity take over, you will walk by faith in the footsteps of Jesus. When you only use divine faith at times, your walk with God will be inconsistent. You may pray, fast and begin walking in divine faith; but you won’t stay there.
You must have divinity working in you all the time to keep fear from creeping in, and fear brings torment. Many people are afraid of getting different diseases. If they already have a disease, they are afraid they won’t get rid of it; but the Bible says, He [God] sent his word [Jesus], and healed them (Psalm 107:20). Jesus was the Word made flesh. And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us (John 1:14). Anyone who will accept Jesus as the very Son of God with all His greatness can be healed.
Only through divine blood and divine faith can you overcome all trials and persecutions. And they [the saints of God] overcame him [the devil] by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word [the Word of God] of their testimony (Revelation 12:11). To be an overcomer, you have to reach out for divinity and let it take you into the place where you can receive from divinity.
Using divine faith pleases God. But without [divine] faith it is impossible to please him [God] (Hebrews 11:6). Jesus must be your faith; and through Him, you can overcome anything. For he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him (Hebrews 11:6). To seek God diligently is to seek Him with your whole heart, and you can only do that with a heart full of divinity. You must keep the Lord ever before you.
Divine faith is so valuable that you must watch over it day and night. That the trial of your [divine] faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ (I Peter 1:7).
Divine Faith Brings Healing
Are you yielding to divine faith? Whether you are or not will determine what you receive from the Lord. And Jesus said unto the centurion, Go thy way; and as thou hast believed, so be it done unto thee. And his servant was healed in the selfsame hour (Matthew 8:13). That centurion had great faith.
A blind beggar went seeking Jesus to be healed; and he cried out, Jesus, thou son of David, have mercy on me. And Jesus answered and said unto him, What wilt thou that I should do unto thee? The blind man said unto him, Lord, that I might receive my sight. And Jesus said unto him, Go thy way; thy faith hath made thee whole. And immediately he received his sight (Mark 10:47,51,52).
At another time, two blind men went to Jesus for healing. And Jesus saith unto them, Believe ye that I am able to do this? They said unto him, Yea, Lord. Then touched he their eyes, saying, According to your faith be it unto you (Matthew 9:28,29). Jesus knew that human faith could not bring sight to their eyes; it would have to come through divinity. Jesus also knew that as the divine faith of those men worked, they would receive; and they did. Many people try to get divine healing from the Lord by using only human faith, but divine healings and miracles come only through divine faith.
Jesus said, And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils (Mark 16:17). It takes divinity to cast out a devil; and when Jesus said “them that believe,” He meant those who had divine faith. You can’t believe the things of God without divine faith. Jesus said, If Satan cast out Satan, he is divided against himself; how shall then his kingdom stand (Matthew 12:26)? One devil can’t cast out another devil. I say again that only the power of divinity can cast out devils.
Divine Faith Wins
Your faith will be tried; but if you hold on to it, God will always bring you out. Wherein ye greatly rejoice, though now for a season, if need be, ye are in heaviness through manifold temptations (I Peter 1:6).
Daniel prayed through divinity morning, noon and night; and nothing could stop him, not even the threat of death. All the presidents of the kingdom, the governors, and the princes, the counsellors, and the captains, have consulted together to establish a royal statute, and to make a firm decree, that whosoever shall ask a petition of any God or man for thirty days, save of thee, O king, he shall be cast into the den of lions (Daniel 6:7).
Evil men reported that Daniel was praying to his God, so he was sentenced to be thrown into the lions’ den; but do you think Daniel went into that den with physical faith and the human senses? No. When the king checked on him the next morning, Daniel said, O king, live forever. My God hath sent his angel, and hath shut the lions' mouths, that they have not hurt me: forasmuch as before him innocency was found in me; and also before thee, O king, have I done no hurt (Daniel 6:21,22). Daniel had divine faith, and he won.
The three Hebrew boys used divine faith when they were bound and thrown into the fiery furnace. Then Nebuchadnezzar the king was astonied, and rose up in haste, and spake, and said unto his counsellors, Did not we cast three men bound into the midst of the fire? They answered and said unto the king, True, O king. He answered and said, Lo, I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire, and they have no hurt; and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God (Daniel 3:24,25). Did divine faith fail in the midst of that fiery furnace? No, but human faith would have burned up. Divine faith can never be destroyed, but you can be destroyed carrying that divine faith if you don’t use it.
When you yield to divinity, you cannot be stopped. As long as you stay yielded and use the Word, you will be an overcomer. Every promise God has ever made is in the Word; but if you don’t use those promises through divinity, you will not get divine results.
Use Divine Faith
The Old Testament sacrificial offerings of animal blood didn’t give people divinity, and they didn’t please God. The Bible says, In burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin thou hast had no pleasure (Hebrews 10:6). It took Jesus to bring divinity to us; and through that divinity, you can see, hear and know things that others can’t.
Divinity works for you who are consecrated and filled with the Holy Ghost, even when you don’t know it is working. Divinity became a part of you when you got saved, and you must never neglect it. You can overcome the world by yielding to divinity. For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith (I John 5:4).
Once you have divine faith, you have to let it increase; and you do that by taking on more of Jesus and using His faith like the woman with the issue of blood did. And, behold, a woman, which was diseased with an issue of blood twelve years, came behind him [Jesus], and touched the hem of his garment: For she said within herself, If I may but touch his garment, I shall be whole (Matthew 9:20,21).
That woman knew about Jesus and no doubt had watched Him work. She recognized Him to be the divine Christ and the divine healer, and she had received His divine faith into her heart. When she said to herself, “If I can just touch His garment, I will be made whole,” that was divinity speaking.
But Jesus turned him about, and when he saw her, he said, Daughter, be of good comfort; thy faith hath made thee whole. And the woman was made whole from that hour (Matthew 9:22). What made her whole?—her divine faith, and divine faith will make you whole too.
Faith in Action
The Bible teaches that faith is a gift from God. God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith (Romans 12:3). It is one of the nine fruits of the Spirit mentioned in Galatians 5:22,23; and it is one of the gifts of the Spirit mentioned in I Corinthians 12:8-10. You must always be seeking more and more of God’s faith.
Mark tells of a man whose son had what today we would call epilepsy; and he took his son to Jesus to be healed saying, If thou canst do anything, have compassion on us, and help us. Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth (Mark 9:22,23). All things are possible when you believe that Jesus is the divine healer, but you can’t believe just for a moment. You have to continue to believe, and you can only do that with divine faith.
Then the man said, Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief (Mark 9:24). The man believed Jesus was the very Son of God, and he yielded all. Then Jesus commanded, Thou dumb and deaf spirit, I charge thee, come out of him [the son], and enter no more into him (Mark 9:25). The man’s son was delivered.
Don’t Use Mental Assent
Human faith gives only mental assent. That means you know in your mind that miracles can happen, but you don’t really believe they will happen to you. Mental assent is of the mind, but divine faith is of the heart; and divine healings and miracles flow only through divine faith, divine love and divine hope.
Many people think they are using divine faith for a miracle when they are really just giving mental assent to what God has promised, and that doesn’t bring results. Any doubt can quickly wipe God’s promises out of your mind.
You can have divinity in your soul and still give only mental assent to things of God, so stop using mental assent on your trials and afflictions and use divine faith. You must let God’s promises flow from your mind into your innermost being because that is where they will work for you.
It is easy to give over to the thoughts in your mind rather than to the divinity in your soul, and the devil loves to feed your mind his thoughts. He can’t get into a born-again soul because it is sealed with the divine blood, but your mind is not sealed with the blood; so the devil can feed you his thoughts. He may succeed in wiping divine faith from your mind, but he can’t take it out of your soul.
If you are pure and clean before God and have the Holy Spirit living within, the Spirit can flow the divine blood from your soul into your mind. Then all mind battles, doubt and fear will go. It is impossible in the human to give your whole mind and heart over to the Lord, but you can do it through divinity.
Many people miss their miracles because they won’t recognize divinity. Others refuse to obey God or give up habits He is not pleased with. If people are not going to accept the Word of God and live by it, they should not ask for prayer because it is the Word, the healing Christ, which heals.
Wait on God
Some Christians will say, “I am doing everything I know to do, but I can’t seem to receive my healing.” First, examine yourself in light of the Word and see if there is anything in your Spirit that is hindering God from moving for you. If not, then know there will be times when your faith will be tested and tried. If you have received other miracles, then you do have faith in God; so don’t allow the devil to beat you down and make you discouraged.
Think about all the things you have already received from the Lord and know He will move for you again. Wait on the Lord with divine hope, not human hope; and it will keep you encouraged until the faith and love of God take over, and you receive your miracle.
The Bible says, They that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles (Isaiah 40:31). You will have many waiting periods in your life; so always make sure you are waiting in God’s promises with divine hope, divine faith and divine love. Those things will give you the divine strength you need to hold onto God.
You have to learn the difference between human hope and divine hope, and they are miles apart when it comes to receiving from God. The Bible says, And [divine] hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us (Romans 5:5). Human hope is fragile and limited in what it can accomplish, but there are no limitations on divine hope unless you put them there; and if you do that, you are cheating yourself out of what the Lord has for you.
The Success of Divine Faith
Hebrews 11 is known as the faith chapter, and the saints of God mentioned there were able to do the things they did through divine faith. Study that chapter, and you will see the many successes of divine faith.
Through divine faith, Abraham started on his journey to offer his son to the Lord on Mount Moriah. By faith Abraham, when he was tried, offered up Isaac; and he that had received the promises offered up his only begotten son, Of whom it was said, That in Isaac shall thy seed be called: Accounting that God was able to raise him up, even from the dead; from whence also he received him in a figure (Hebrews 11:17-19). Abraham had great love for the Father, and that brought about his great faith.
By faith, Enoch pleased God; and God took him to Heaven alive. By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God (Hebrews 11:5). By faith, Moses led the Israelites through the Red Sea. By faith they passed through the Red sea as by dry land: which the Egyptians assaying to do were drowned (Hebrews 11:29).
By faith, those saints of old subdued kingdoms, wrought righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions, Quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, out of weakness were made strong, waxed valiant in fight, turned to flight the armies of the aliens (Hebrews 11:33,34). Compare the successes of divinity to what human efforts can accomplish, and you will find yourself leaning more and more on the right arm of Jesus and marching ever onward into the deliverance of God.
Divine Faith Never Wavers
Through divine faith, you can trust in the Lord with your whole heart. Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths (Proverbs 3:5,6). When you bring a need before the Lord, you must ask in faith, nothing wavering (James 1:6). Human faith wavers; so if you ask for something with human faith, you probably won’t receive.
God’s promises don’t waver, and neither can you; so in this last hour, you must remain steadfast in the Lord. Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord (I Corinthians 15:58). When you have divinity within, you can use all the divinity you need whenever you need it.
People may say they have faith, but where are the works of God to prove it? The Bible says, Shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works (James 2:18). The Bible also says, Faith without works is dead (James 2:20). If you have dead faith today, you have to get rid of it and take on live, divine faith. Then watch your works multiply.
Divine faith begins with divine love. That is why Jesus said, And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength (Mark 12:30). When you have that kind of love, you have the foundation for all the divinity you will ever need in your life.
Calvary made it possible for you to have more of the love of God than you can possibly use; and you can be so rooted and grounded in that love that you will never be moved. That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge (Ephesians 3:17-19).
Divine Faith Saves
Just as you can’t receive miracles through mental assent, you can’t receive salvation just in your mind. Salvation has to be of the heart and soul. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation (Romans 10:10). True salvation is only found in Jesus Christ. He said, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me (John 14:6). Only through Him can you find divine hope, divine faith and divine love.
Sinner, Backslider, come to Jesus! Believe in the blood that stained the Old Rugged Cross and let it cleanse you and make you a new creature in Christ. Let that divine blood flow into your soul, and it will deliver you and give you peace within and true fellowship with God.
Say this prayer with me now: Oh, God, I confess that Jesus was born of the Virgin Mary with divine blood in His veins. I know He went to Calvary and shed His blood, and that His blood has the power to wash away every sin. I am so sorry I sinned against you, Lord, and I believe the divine blood will wash away all of my sins right now. Come into my heart, Jesus! Come on in! If you believe that prayer, the power in the blood has washed away your sins and made your soul new.
Divine Faith to Be Healed
Jesus did not shed His blood just for salvation but also for healing; and without that blood, there would be no healing for us today. But thank God, there is healing through the blood of Jesus for whatever disease or affliction you may have. Christ’s precious blood ran down His back when He was beaten at the whipping post; and the Bible says, With his [blood] stripes we are healed (Isaiah 53:5). The Bible also says, The prayer of [divine] faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up (James 5:15). That is divine healing.
We believe in good doctors and good medicines. The Lord has given medical people the wisdom and knowledge to take healing benefits from nature and apply them to our bodies; but since God is the God of everything, including nature, all healing ultimately comes from Him.
If you need healing today, accept this prayer of faith now. Lord, I bring the people to you. Their deliverance comes in the name of your Son, Jesus, through your supernatural gifts of healing and miracles. They can be healed of AIDS, cancer, diabetes, heart trouble, paralysis, blindness, deafness or any other affliction they may have. It all flows through the blood of Jesus. Heal! Heal in the holy name of Jesus!
Now, use your divine faith and believe. Then let that power flow through you to make you whole and give God all the glory for what He has done. God bless you.
