When the Lord told me to preach on divine determination, He took me to the book of Job. And the LORD said unto Satan, Hast thou considered my servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and escheweth evil? Then Satan answered the LORD, and said, Doth Job fear God for nought? Hast not thou made an hedge about him, and about his house, and about all that he hath on every side? thou hast blessed the work of his hands, and his substance is increased in the land. But put forth thine hand now, and touch all that he hath, and he will curse thee to thy face (Job 1:8-11).

Job did not hear that conversation between the Lord and Satan, but the Lord knew Job had what it took to stand for Him. God had made Job a wealthy man, but the Lord knew he had no ego about it. He knew Job loved Him more than anybody or anything else and that Job served Him because He was Lord God Almighty. Job said, Though he slay me, yet will I trust in him (Job 13:15). That was divine determination.

Do you have that same divine determination? Do you really hold on to the horns of the altar? The Lord told us to come boldly before the throne of grace. Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need (Hebrews 4:16). Do you find help for your need?

Human determination is weak just as human faith and human love are weak; so you have to have divine faith, divine love, divine grace and divine determination. Only divine things have all the strength of Heaven in them, and then you must hold on. The Bible tells us, Prove all things; hold fast that which is good (I Thessalonians 5:21). Do you hold fast to that which is good or do you let discouragement cause you to let go? When you have the love and the determination to stand for God, you will never let go or blame Him for anything bad; and you will praise Him for everything good.

Jesus Brought Divinity

Divine determination incorporates all nine of the divine fruits of the Spirit. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance (Galatians 5:22,23). Jesus brought divinity to us from Heaven, everything we need on this journey; but do you have the divine determination to pray, fast and live in the Word of God so you can use those things? Most people will not use divinity, and that is why the Christian church is in such an awful condition throughout the Earth today.

Are you in and out with God, with your prayer life and with your Bible time? If so, you do not have divine determination. You have human determination, but that is not sufficient to put you on the one flight out. You will have to have divine determination, saith the Lord. The prophets of old had it, and they stood for God no matter what. Many of them died for the sake of God in Old Testament days, and others died for the sake of Christ after He had come to Earth. That was divine determination.

All that is recorded in the Acts of the Apostles is astounding because the disciples had divine determination. They held on to God’s unchanging hand, and they knew He would never leave them or forsake them. For he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee (Hebrews 13:5). You too must hold on to God’s unchanging hand in this final hour; and He will walk with the Bride daily because we are His, and He is ours.

Claim Your Blessings

The Israelites, as a whole, did not have divine determination to serve God with all of their hearts or to go into the land of Canaan and defeat the enemies of God. Therefore, they had to wander in the wilderness for forty years until all but two men who were twenty and above when they left Egypt had died. Caleb and Joshua were the only two of the twelve spies who had given a good report, so they were allowed to enter Canaan. And he [God] sware, saying, Surely none of the men that came up out of Egypt, from twenty years old and upward, shall see the land which I sware unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob; because they have not wholly followed me: Save Caleb the son of Jephunneh the Kenezite, and Joshua the son of Nun: for they have wholly followed the LORD. And the LORD’S anger was kindled against Israel, and he made them wander in the wilderness forty years, until all the generation, that had done evil in the sight of the LORD, was consumed (Numbers 32:10-13).

While ten of the spies were looking at the giants in the land, Caleb was staking out a mountain for himself; and he got it. Then the children of Judah came unto Joshua in Gilgal: and Caleb the son of Jephunneh the Kenezite said unto him, Thou knowest the thing that the LORD said unto Moses the man of God concerning me and thee in Kadeshbarnea. And Moses sware on that day, saying, Surely the land whereon thy feet have trodden shall be thine inheritance, and thy children’s forever, because thou hast wholly followed the LORD my God. Now therefore give me this mountain, whereof the LORD spake in that day…And Joshua blessed him, and gave unto Caleb the son of Jephunneh Hebron for an inheritance (Joshua 14:6,9,12,13). You can claim the blessings of God in a great way, too, when you have divinity and the divine determination to receive the fulfillment of God’s promises that are for you.

You Must Have the Holy Ghost

The promise of the Holy Ghost is to all. For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call (Acts 2:39). Some of you have not received the Holy Ghost baptism because you don’t have the divine determination to keep praising and glorifying the Lord until the Holy Ghost comes in. You praise God for a little while and then give up instead of giving in to the Holy Spirit and letting Him baptize you.

Jesus said He would give the Holy Ghost to them that obey Him. And we are his witnesses of these things; and so is also the Holy Ghost, whom God hath given to them that obey him (Acts 5:32). Never listen to doubters who say the days of miracles are over and that people no longer speak in tongues. No one can have the Holy Ghost baptism today without speaking in other tongues just as they did on the Day of Pentecost. And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance (Acts 2:4).

The Holy Ghost is a real person, so you cannot speak in tongues at will; He does the speaking. There is no power from Heaven in that, and people are deceived by it. The Lord Himself told me that speaking in tongues at will is of the flesh; and He said if people continue to do it, it becomes part flesh and part the devil. Then a demon takes over, and it becomes all the power of the devil; and that is fearful! Some people gather together in groups and supposedly sing in tongues, but that is mockery. The Holy Ghost does not work that way.

The Lord said the Holy Ghost is the Spirit of truth; there is nothing false about Him. Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come (John 16:13). The Holy Spirit guides us, teaches us and dwells on the inside of us in living reality; yet you think you cannot be anointed with determination to do what He tells you to do or to accept the teachings the Lord sends through Him.

After the Early Church had received the Spirit of truth, they had great vision and truth; but until that time, the third person in the Trinity of the Godhead had not come down to live and dwell in many people’s lives. But after Pentecost, Jesus told the disciples that they would go forth by the Spirit of truth, the Holy Ghost Himself.

The Power of the Word

Divine determination tells you that the Lord does not give us the spirit of fear. For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind (II Timothy 1:7). Take that sound mind, and then be determined to receive the things of God; but if you let the devil talk you out of them, you will not receive. In the fourth chapter of Matthew, Jesus met the devil head-on; but He had divine determination, and He said to the devil three times, It is written (Matthew 4:4,7,10).

How much time do you spend with the Word, and how deep are you in it? When you have divine determination, you will hold on to the Word of God. His promises will mean more to you than your life; and when God speaks, what He says will last. But the word of the Lord endureth forever (I Peter 1:25). The Word of God has all the powers of Heaven in it and all the love, grace, goodness and help of God. It is our guiding light. Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path (Psalm 119:105). The Word brings deliverance; it makes unholy people holy and then gives them the faith to hold on to all they have heard and seen.

And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth (John 1:14). Jesus was the Word made flesh; and when He spoke, whatever He said happened. I [the Lord] will speak, and the word that I shall speak shall come to pass (Ezekiel 12:25). Jesus healed all kinds of sicknesses and diseases, and He raised the dead.

When we have the Word and divine determination, we can speak the Word with all of the love, power, grace and strength that Jesus did—He has anointed us to do that. We can also use the Word to conquer the powers of the devil and to trample devils underfoot. Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you (Luke 10:19). Do you know how to use the Word to win every battle with the devil that comes your way?

Depend on God

You must have divine determination to have the anointings of God daily and to start each day with Jesus. In my home, my mother and dad got up early. They prayed out loud, and their prayers could be heard throughout our home. They were lifting their voices to tell the Lord how much they loved Him and believed in Him and that they knew He would supply all of our needs, even in the days of the Depression.

God looked out for the Angley family because my parents looked out for God. They tithed and gave unto the Lord; they honored God and His Word; they lived holy and free from all sin, and they were determined to please God. The Lord would answer my mother’s prayers for her family and for other people because she had faith in God, and she held on.

I had a terrible leg disease as a child, and it felt like a wild animal was gnawing on the main bone in my right leg. Nobody but God in Heaven knew how much I suffered, but my mother would never leave me. She was always there to say, “Honey, God is going to heal you.” It looked like the healing would never come; but then the dawn did come just like Mama had said it would, and I was made completely whole.

You must have determination to hold on until your miracle is complete and for others to be healed. People come to this ministry from all over the world to be prayed for, and I hold on to God day and night for them to be delivered because I have that determination.

Some of you fail to hold on for your miracles and healings as long as you should, but you must not give up. The devil will tell you that you will never get well; but the Lord said, I am the LORD that healeth thee (Exodus 15:26). The Bible also tells us that Jesus Christ [is] the same yesterday, and today, and forever (Hebrews 13:8). I hold on to those scriptures, and I don’t give up on people because God promised.

You have to have divine miracle power, and that is another reason why we all must have the Holy Ghost living inside of us. But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth (Acts 1:8). Jesus said this miracle kind comes about only through prayer and fasting. Howbeit this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting (Matthew 17:21).

Some people have a hard time fasting, but you need divine determination to fast the Bible way. When the Lord calls on me to fast for twenty-one days or even forty days, I do it. Then I don’t think about being weak or hungry because the Bible says, Let the weak say, I am strong (Joel 3:10). We must talk strength, grace and the promises of God.

Job’s Great Persecutions

Every animal Job had was destroyed, and his servants were murdered. Then all ten of his children were killed when a great wind struck the house where they had gathered, and it fell on them. Job had been so careful with his children that he would bring them together and sanctify them daily before the Lord just in case they had committed a sin against God. And it was so, when the days of their feasting were gone about, that Job sent and sanctified them, and rose up early in the morning, and offered burnt offerings according to the number of them all: for Job said, It may be that my sons have sinned, and cursed God in their hearts. Thus did Job continually (Job 1:5). After all of Job’s prayers, his children were dead; and the devil taunted Job with that.

The devil went back to the Lord; and the Lord asked him, From whence comest thou? And Satan answered the LORD, and said, From going to and fro in the earth, and from walking up and down in it (Job 2:2). The devil was seeking those whom he could devour, and he is still doing that today. Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour (I Peter 5:8).

After all of that, Job became afflicted with boils. One boil can make you feel like you are dying, but Job was covered with them. Three so-called comforters visited Job, and they stayed for days without speaking; and when they finally did speak, they said nothing good. Job would have been better off without them.

Even Job’s wife turned against him and said, Dost thou still retain thine integrity? curse God, and die (Job 2:9). There was no encouragement in that. She had no God about her; and Job told her, Thou speakest as one of the foolish women speaketh (Job 2:10). She sounded like a sinner because she was one. Then Job said, The LORD gave, and the LORD hath taken away; blessed be the name of the LORD (Job 1:21). In all of his suffering, Job never accused or blamed God.

Are you holding on to troubles and trials, or are you holding on to the promises of God? Where is your anointing? The Bible declares that the anointing breaks all the yokes. And it shall come to pass in that day, that his burden shall be taken away from off thy shoulder, and his yoke from off thy neck, and the yoke shall be destroyed because of the anointing (Isaiah 10:27).

Never Blame God

Some people will turn against God when He takes a loved one home. Do you think I would have turned against God because He took my wife, Angel, to Heaven? Heaven is for people to go to, and Angel wanted to go there. She had looked up all the scriptures on Heaven, and the Lord took her at the exact time He had planned.

After she was gone, I was in the deepest valley I had ever been in; but I was determined to hold on to God and determined to finish my mission. I knew I had to live for the sake of the people whom God had given me, and I knew I had to get the Gospel to the whole world.

I never blamed God for taking Angel, and you must know that the Lord never makes a mistake. If you live in the divine will of God, have His divine anointings and have the divine determination to please God and to carry out His will, you will go to Heaven the very moment God wills for you to go. And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose (Romans 8:28). The determination Jesus brought will take you through every valley no matter how deep it is.

Job was forsaken by everybody he knew. He hath put my brethren far from me, and mine acquaintance are verily estranged from me. My kinsfolk have failed, and my familiar friends have forgotten me. They that dwell in mine house, and my maids, count me for a stranger: I am an alien in their sight. I called my servant, and he gave me no answer; I entreated him with my mouth. My breath is strange to my wife, though I entreated for the children’s sake of mine own body. Yea, young children despised me; I arose, and they spake against me. All my inward friends abhorred me: and they whom I loved are turned against me (Job 19:13-19).

In spite of all of that, Job was determined to stay true to God; and he cried, For I know that my redeemer liveth, and that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth (Job 19:25). With the anointing of determination, you can talk like that all the time because you are holding on to God.

Human Determination Fails

You must know God and believe Him 100 percent to be able to hold on to Him. I make no room for doubt; and I know that no matter what comes, God is with me. Emmanuel…God with us (Matthew 1:23). Never forget that God is with you.

Some of you allow the devil to make you down and out when Jesus came to destroy the works of the devil. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil (I John 3:8). God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him (Acts 10:38). A child of God cannot be devil possessed, but he or she can be oppressed by the devil. Jesus came to deliver us from all of that, but some of you are not determined to stay free from depression and oppression. Where is your divine revelation of divinity? Is Jesus really your faith?

Jesus would say to the disciples, O ye of little faith (Matthew 6:30). “Little faith” is human faith, and some of you have only human determination when you must have divine determination. I use divine determination to do the things of God and to wake up at night whenever He wants me to. It is great to be anointed to be in God’s presence and to hold on to His unchanging hand. You must have determination to study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth (II Timothy 2:15).

Do you ever lay the Word aside and say, “I just don’t understand it?” If so, did you ever think about having the determination to stay on your knees until you do have understanding? The Bible says, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God (Matthew 4:4). How determined are you to keep up with the power, faith, love, grace and works that are in every Word of God?

When you are anointed with determination, you will hide God’s promises in your heart like the Psalmist did. Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee (Psalm 119:11). The writer of Proverbs said, My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings. Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart. For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh (Proverbs 4:20-22).

God’s Judgment Is about to Fall

You must have anointed determination to live free from all sin. The soul that sinneth, it shall die (Ezekiel 18:4). Holiness, righteousness and love are in the right hand of God for the Bride today; but there is judgment in the left hand of God for the wicked and ungodly. There are calamities all over the world now, and the Bible told us that these things would come. And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. All these are the beginning of sorrows (Matthew 24:6-8).

We are in the final hour; and the Lord said that in the last days, people would have a form of godliness but deny the power of God. This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away (II Timothy 3:1-5).

Churches that used to be on fire for God no longer have that fire. They have let go of the power of God and preach only a social Gospel that does not turn people to righteousness, but no person without holiness will ever see the face of God. Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord (Hebrews 12:14). The majority of people on Earth today will never see the face of God; but they will hear God’s voice of judgment at the White Throne judgment saying, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels (Matthew 25:41).

Many people do not believe there is a burning hell, but that does not do away with it. Those people have let go of the righteousness, holiness, power and truth of God. The Holy Bible is all true; and it declares, Let God be true, but every man a liar (Romans 3:4).

Rely on Divinity

When you have the divine power and determination to stay with God, you have it made. You do not have to worry about tomorrow because God holds all of your tomorrows in His hands. He is God, and He does not change. For I am the LORD, I change not (Malachi 3:6).

The Early Church had divine determination for over thirty years, and the devil could do nothing with them. The more they were persecuted, the more they went forth teaching and preaching the Gospel everywhere; and the Word increased, prevailed and conquered. And the word of God increased (Acts 6:7). So mightily grew the word of God and prevailed (Acts 19:20).

I am determined to let God do all He wants through me in this last hour and to be everything He wants me to be. I have anointed determination to live in His presence, to dine with Him, to walk, talk and work like Jesus, and to see things as Jesus sees them.

When I don’t know what to do, I ask myself, “What would Jesus do?” and I get my answer. Stop trying to move forward when you don’t know where to place your feet. Always make sure you have on the shoes of Jesus, and there is a pair to fit every person who is 100 percent obedient to the whole will of God…but you have to feel the need of them.

Are you really doing the will of God or are you comfortable just knowing His will for your life? It takes only a moment for the Lord to tell you His will, but you must do it for a lifetime. Jesus did the will of the Father during His whole life here on Earth. He said, For I have not spoken of myself; but the Father which sent me, he gave me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak. And I know that his commandment is life everlasting: whatsoever I speak therefore, even as the Father said unto me, so I speak (John 12:49,50).

Do you say what Jesus says or what people say? When you are anointed with determination, you will keep your ears tuned in to Heaven. The Bible says seven times, He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith (Revelation 2:7,11,17,29; 3:6,13,22).

Stay Close to the Lord

When I got saved at eighteen, I had divine determination to stay with God. I left everybody behind who would not serve God, including my brother whom I had run around with. I had finished with the world, and I had the determination to never be a part of it again. Some young people go back and forth with the world, but you cannot play tag with God and get by; you are either with Him or without Him. The Bible says, No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God (Luke 9:62). If you look back, you are in trouble.

Without divine determination, you are like a ship without a sail on a stormy sea. Your little boat will be tossed all around; and if you are not careful, it will soon sink. You must be determined not to drift away from the shore and to stay with Jesus. When you have that divine determination, it will not matter what your family says or plans. If you don’t want to go to one of their events, or if they go to movies you do not feel right about, don’t go. If they do things you do not believe in doing, don’t do them. You have to stand for Jesus against everybody and everything.

Job said, Behold, my witness is in heaven, and my record is on high (Job 16:19). Make sure you have a good record in Heaven and that you hold it up before the devil. Job said, But he (the Lord) knoweth the way that I take: when he hath tried me, I shall come forth as gold (Job 23:10). Job trusted God. Do you have that spirit?

Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths (Proverbs 3:5,6). It takes anointed determination to trust in God with the whole you and not to lean to your own understanding. Some of you say you trust in God; but if it is not divine trust, you do not trust Him with your whole heart. You must have anointed trust just as you must have anointed determination or you will not be able to hold up in the ferocious storms. Anointed determination comes by bringing self under subjection to every word of the living God, by bowing to thus saith the Lord and by trusting in the Lord with all of your heart.

Stand for Jesus

You must have divine determination to wear the whole armor of God. Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God (Ephesians 6:13-17).

God offers you His whole armor, but some of you do not have the determination to use it all the time. You do things that do not fit the armor, such as wasting time when you should be making the best of it. We should never be idle but be led by the Spirit and fed by the Spirit. We must dine with the Lord through His holy power and always be drawn closer to Him. Never sit by the wayside and be satisfied; move ever onward to get this Gospel to the whole world.

You have to hold on to the faith of God or the enemy will deceive you. He will make you think that God excuses you, but God does not excuse any of us. He has work for us to do; and if we plan to get out of here on the one flight out, we have to do it. God does not tell you to pray that you will be counted worthy to go to Heaven because if you are saved, you will go there; but He tells you to pray that you will be counted worthy to be on the one flight out. Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man (Luke 21:36). How will you be counted worthy?—by doing the works He has called you to do and by putting Him first. However, you will only put God first when you have the determination to keep your first love.

“First love” is what you received when you first found Calvary. Do you still have that sacrificial love? Do you appreciate the Lord and sacrifice as much now as you did when you first found that love? First love is such an unusual love that it changes your life completely.

Never Falter

Always remember that Job had divine determination. He said, My foot hath held his steps, his way have I kept, and not declined. Neither have I gone back from the commandment of his lips; I have esteemed the words of his mouth more than my necessary food (Job 23:11,12).

Job stood for God, and he won. God rose up, and the end of Job’s life was greater than the beginning. And the LORD turned the captivity of Job, when he prayed for his friends: also the LORD gave Job twice as much as he had before (Job 42:10).

You must have divine determination to set your face like a flint. Therefore have I set my face like a flint, and I know that I shall not be ashamed (Isaiah 50:7). The Bible also says, Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith (Hebrews 12:2). When you look to Jesus, He will give you the strength to hold on; and that divine determination will take you safely through every storm so you will be ready when the midnight cry goes forth, Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him (Matthew 25:6). You will not tremble in fear; you will rise up through the power of the Holy Ghost and in all the grace of Heaven to meet Jesus in the air. Even so, come, Lord Jesus (Revelation 22:20).

When Jesus comes, it will be fast and quick; so we will have to be ready to go. Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown (Revelation 3:11). You must hold on to the grace and favor of God. Remember therefore how thou hast received and heard, and hold fast (Revelation 3:3).

The Bible says, He that endureth to the end shall be saved (Matthew 10:22). You will not be saved when Jesus comes unless you hold on to your salvation and the good Holy Ghost until the end. You have to hold on to the power of God and to all of His promises, and there is a promise to supply every need.

Are you determined to hold on to the promise that the Lord is coming? Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh (Matthew 24:44). Are you determined to hold on to the fact that when you see all the things God warned us about coming to pass, Jesus will be at the door? Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh: So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it [my coming] is near, even at the doors (Matthew 24:32,33). I hold on to that promise, and I preach it wherever I go.

Hold On

In the Word of God, the people who won were the ones who held fast to what they had heard and received from Heaven; and we also must hold on tight. The devil will try to discourage us, but we can never let go. We must hold on to the love of God. For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life (John 3:16).

God gave Jesus for each one of us, and we must hold on to that love. It brings divine peace, not the peace of the world. Jesus said, Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid (John 14:27). The Lord promised us peace if we will keep our minds stayed upon Him. Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee (Isaiah 26:3).

Are you looking unto Jesus so you can have His peace? And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). That peace brings joy, and you must hold on to that joy. Stop looking around to see what loved ones are doing because they can steal your joy if they are not doing right. Never let people rob you. Hold on to what the Lord has promised, to what you need from Heaven and to His greatness; and you will be all right. Hold on to the blood that stained the Old Rugged Cross because that is your great weapon from Heaven.

When you pray through the blood in the name of Jesus and you want the will of God, you will reach the throne of grace and be able to say as Jesus did, Father, I thank thee that thou hast heard me. And I knew that thou hearest me always (John 11:41,42). Can you say that with all confidence? The Bible tells us, Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompence of reward (Hebrews 10:35). Only by keeping your confidence in God and loving the Lord with your whole heart can you hold on to all He has promised you, and God’s promises are all true. Never give up; for with the Lord’s loving arms around you, you will always make it.

Take God’s Plan

Noah did not let go of the plan of God even though it was one of separation and endurance that was going to take a lot of strength. Noah would need to have the determination to keep his family holy before God, and they would have to work many hours to build the ark. And God said unto Noah, The end of all flesh is come before me; for the earth is filled with violence through them; and, behold, I will destroy them with the earth. Make thee an ark of gopher wood (Genesis 6:13,14). The Lord went on to give Noah instructions on how to build the ark, and thus did Noah; according to all that God commanded him, so did he (Genesis 6:22). Noah had to build that ark; but the Lord spoke our ark into existence when He gave us Jesus, and Jesus is our ark.

While Noah’s family and the animals were on the ark, all the meal barrels stayed full. The Lord revealed to me that they were miracle meal barrels, and He took me to His Word to prove it. During the great famine in Elijah’s day, the Lord filled up the widow woman’s empty meal barrel and oil cruse; and they stayed full throughout the whole famine.

When Elijah first arrived at the widow woman’s house, he said, Fetch me, I pray thee, a little water in a vessel, that I may drink. And as she was going to fetch it, he called to her, and said, Bring me, I pray thee, a morsel of bread in thine hand. And she said, As the LORD thy God liveth, I have not a cake, but an handful of meal in a barrel, and a little oil in a cruse: and, behold, I am gathering two sticks, that I may go in and dress it for me and my son, that we may eat it, and die. And Elijah said unto her, Fear not; go and do as thou hast said: but make me thereof a little cake first, and bring it unto me, and after make for thee and for thy son. For thus saith the LORD God of Israel, The barrel of meal shall not waste, neither shall the cruse of oil fail, until the day that the LORD sendeth rain upon the earth. And she went and did according to the saying of Elijah: and she, and he, and her house, did eat many days. And the barrel of meal wasted not, neither did the cruse of oil fail, according to the word of the LORD, which he spake by Elijah (I Kings 17:10-16).

The widow woman was so greatly supplied that it is hard to tell how many friends and loved ones she served with the miracle the Lord had given her through her obedience. She didn’t worry; she held on to the promise of God, and it worked.

Hold Fast through Faith

When you doubt, you are not using the divine determination to hold on. The Lord said, But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. For let not that man think that he shall receive anything of the Lord (James 1:6,7). If you let your faith waver, it will not work. You will have turned loose of the promise and of the confidence and the obedience in that promise, and that is a disobedience to God.

Faith comes by hearing the Word of God. So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God (Romans 10:17). It takes Word-faith to have the strength to hold on without any doubt like Noah and his family did. A lot of obedience was required of them, and they gave their lives to save their lives. Jesus gave His life to save us; and in return, we must give our lives night and day to bring in the lost in this final hour.

Do you have the plan of God for your life? Noah and his family had the plan of God; and it gave them the strength, the courage and the wisdom to journey on. When we have God’s plan for our lives, we will know the paths we are to travel.

Faithful Abraham

Abraham had the faith to hold on, but his wife, Sarah, did not; and she would have given up. When the Lord told Abraham to offer Isaac on Mount Moriah as a burnt offering unto Him, it took great faith to obey. Abraham had waited twenty-five years for his promised son, Isaac; and then when the boy was about twelve years old, the Lord told Abraham to offer him as a burnt offering. Nevertheless, Abraham held fast to the plan and faith of God. He knew that if he offered Isaac as a burnt offering before the Lord, God would have to raise him from the dead right away. By faith Abraham, when he was tried, offered up Isaac: and he that had received the promises offered up his only begotten son, Of whom it was said, That in Isaac shall thy seed be called: Accounting that God was able to raise him up, even from the dead; from whence also he received him in a figure (Hebrews 11:17-19).

Abraham held on to the promise that from Isaac would come many nations, and it happened. You too will have to hold on to God knowing that He cannot lie and that He keeps all of His promises, but you must hold to the promise for it to be fulfilled. How do you do that?—through prayer, fasting and living in the Word. Those things are the only way you can endure and have the miracle power working in you all the time.

Other Old Testament saints held fast even though they suffered great persecutions and were often in adverse circumstances, but many of God’s people today are too easily discouraged. What do we have to be discouraged about when the coming of the Lord and Heaven are just ahead?

No Defeat in Jesus

Jesus came and took on the fashion of a man, and He walked the paths that we must walk. He laid out our paths for us and let us know, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness (II Corinthians 12:9). Jesus walked every valley for us, and He lived by the same promises that we are to live by today. He suffered all kinds of awful torture and was finally killed on Calvary; but He defeated death, hell and the grave because He held fast. O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory (I Corinthians 15:55)?

Like Jesus, Paul held fast and would not let go; and you can be just like Jesus, too. Be determined to defeat the devil and to be free from all sin and disobedience; then serve the Lord in Spirit and in truth. God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth (John 4:24).

Paul said, I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day (II Timothy 1:12). That determination takes away all fear and despair, and it gives you strength to hold on. Paul knew that he had nothing more to commit; and when you commit all, you will be taken care of as a son or a daughter of God just like the Only Begotten was.

When the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah were going to be destroyed, two angels, representing the Word and the Holy Ghost, warned Lot to take his family and leave; and Lot held on to what the Lord had said. For we will destroy this place, because the cry of them is waxen great before the face of the LORD; and the LORD hath sent us to destroy it (Genesis 19:13).

The Word is telling you that you must get ready to get out of here because Jesus is soon coming. Angels are here to help us get ready and to help us get others ready. There is just one flight out; and only those without spot, wrinkle or blemish can be on board. That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish (Ephesians 5:27).

In Lot’s case, only three without spot, wrinkle or blemish escaped the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah; but Lot’s wife did not make it. She was instructed not to look back, but she did it anyway; and she was turned into a pillar of worthless salt. And it came to pass, when they [the angels] had brought them forth abroad, that he said, Escape for thy life; look not behind thee, neither stay thou in all the plain; escape to the mountain, lest thou be consumed. But his wife looked back from behind him, and she became a pillar of salt (Genesis 19:17,26).

I see many Christians today who are just worthless pillars of salt; they are looking back and not holding fast. You must have the determination to move forward saying, “Where He leads me, I will follow.” Jesus must be your everything. He must be your faith, so why do you doubt? The Lord told us that our little human faith would fail, but big divine faith never fails. It always produces, and it will take away the mountains of sickness and bring you out on top.

Never Give Up

Joseph was a type of Jesus Christ. Joseph became the savior of his people; and many years later, Jesus became the Savior of His people. Joseph went through many trials, but he held on. He held on to living free from sin when Potiphar’s wife tried to seduce him. And it came to pass about this time, that Joseph went into the house to do his business; and there was none of the men of the house there within. And she caught him by his garment, saying, Lie with me: and he left his garment in her hand, and fled, and got him out (Genesis 39:11,12). Joseph was sent to prison because Potiphar’s wife had lied and said that he had attacked her.

Joseph helped the chief butler while they were both in prison; and in return, when the butler was released, he was to have told the king of Joseph’s condition. Well, he did not do that, but he finally came around to give testimony for Joseph when the king needed someone to interpret his dreams; and the chief butler thought of Joseph. Then spake the chief butler unto Pharaoh, saying, I do remember my faults this day: Pharaoh was wroth with his servants, and put me in ward in the captain of the guard’s house, both me and the chief baker: And we dreamed a dream in one night, I and he; we dreamed each man according to the interpretation of his dream. And there was there with us a young man, an Hebrew, servant to the captain of the guard; and we told him, and he interpreted to us our dreams; to each man according to his dream he did interpret. And it came to pass, as he interpreted to us, so it was; me he restored unto mine office, and him he hanged (Genesis 41:9-13). Joseph had held on for so long, and this was the beginning of God bringing him out.

Moses was able to hold on because he had climbed the mountain and gone to the burning bush. You need to climb up high enough in obedience, faith and humility to receive the Holy Ghost baptism. If you climb with a hunger and a thirst, the Bible says you will be filled. Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled (Matthew 5:6). You must hold to that promise.

Joshua held on to all he had seen and heard, and he was there when the Israelites were delivered. He saw the waters separate, and he watched the left hand of God drown the great Egyptian army in just moments of time. And Moses stretched forth his hand over the sea, and the sea returned to his strength when the morning appeared; and the Egyptians fled against it; and the LORD overthrew the Egyptians in the midst of the sea…there remained not so much as one of them (Exodus 14:27,28).

Joshua said when he was dying, Behold, this day I am going the way of all the earth: and ye know in all your hearts and in all your souls, that not one thing hath failed of all the good things which the LORD your God spake concerning you; all are come to pass unto you, and not one thing hath failed thereof (Joshua 23:14).

God Is True

The great prophet Elijah was really a man of God with the determination to hold on. At one time, he was in such sore straits that he asked the Lord to take his life because he thought everyone except him was worshiping the idol Baal; but the Lord said, Yet I have left me seven thousand in Israel, all the knees which have not bowed unto Baal, and every mouth which hath not kissed him (I Kings 19:18).

You must know the truth so you will be free. And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free (John 8:32). You can stand only in truth, so you have to know God’s truth and stay in His Word.

Daniel had great determination to hold fast even though he had been made a eunuch and could never marry and have a family. Many people would have given up completely and blamed God rather than blaming those who had done them wrong; but Daniel did not do that, and he loved God with his whole heart.

The Hebrew boys also had been made eunuchs and were slaves, but they held fast to Jehovah God. They would not bow to the king’s idol; but when Nebuchadnezzar threw them into the furnace, he saw the fourth man—Jesus. And these three men, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, fell down bound into the midst of the burning fiery furnace. Then Nebuchadnezzar the king was astonied, and rose up in haste, and spake, and said unto his counsellors, Did not we cast three men bound into the midst of the fire? They answered and said unto the king, True, O king. He answered and said, Lo, I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire, and they have no hurt; and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God (Daniel 3:23-25). The Hebrew boys paid a big price; and they did not let go of the promises of God, of the truth, of the power or of the greatness of God.

We must have the same divine determination to never let go. We must be on our way with the truth to bring the multitudes to the Lord. We must sound the Gospel trumpet all over the world in this final hour crying, “Come to Jesus! Come to Jesus!” And they are coming. Untold thousands are saved in just one night in my overseas crusades; and thousands, numbered by God Himself, get the real Holy Ghost baptism. Millions more are saved each week through The Ernest Angley Hour, radio, the Internet and the printed page. Nothing can stop us now—not the devil or man.

Hold On to Salvation

If you are lost and undone without God, do you want to spend an eternity in hell? Hell is real, and no amount of determination can get you out once you are there. Hell was made by God for the devil and his angels; but when man sinned, God had to enlarge hell to make room for sinful mankind. Hell hath enlarged herself, and opened her mouth without measure (Isaiah 5:14).

Either you will believe the Bible or you won’t. If you believe it, you can be saved right now. If you are in a lukewarm condition, you have to come back to Jesus because you have let go of His truth, His deliverance, His salvation and His baptism of the Holy Ghost. Say this prayer: Oh, God, save my soul! I am so sorry I sinned against you; but I have come home, and I will serve you, Lord, for the rest of my life. I accept that anointed determination to never go back into the night. I will walk with you for the rest of the way, and I will seek to be just like Jesus. I believe the blood of Jesus washes away all of my sins! Come into my heart, Jesus. Come on in, Jesus! Now, He has come. Are you determined to hold on to Him? Then say, Hallelujah! Jesus is mine, and I will never let Him go!

Be Determined to Receive Healing

You who are sick and afflicted, the Lord promised you healing. Healing is the children’s bread, and bread is always on the table for God’s children. I am not your healer; Jesus is your healer, and He came with healing in His wings. But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings (Malachi 4:2). The Bible also says, He sent his word, and healed them (Psalm 107:20). I am God’s witness; and when I tell you God will do it, He will. God will heal those little, deformed children just as He has healed whole families of AIDS. The blood of Jesus will heal you of anything if you will just look to the Lord.

Lord, I bring the sick and afflicted to you. Lay a healing hand on them. I curse all deadly diseases in their bodies—cancer, diabetes, heart trouble, lung trouble and paralysis. You can give little, deformed children who were born with just part of a brain a whole brain, and you can give them power to walk. You have done it again and again, Lord. In the holy name of the Lord, deliver them. Heal! in the blood name. Heal! in the all-powerful blood name of Jesus.

Feel that power now as it flows out like mighty rivers. Accept it and be thou made well, but then you have to live free from all sin. Jesus said, Behold, thou art made whole: sin no more, lest a worse thing come unto thee (John 5:14). Always give God all the praise, honor and glory. I never take any of His glory. Always say that God did it in the name of His Son, Jesus. I hope to see you on the one flight out!
