Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompence of reward. For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise (Hebrews 10:35,36). Cast not away your confidence. To walk with God you must have confidence in Him, complete confidence. Many do not have enough confidence in what God has said to wait patiently for the fulfillment of the promise—even after they have done all that God instructed them to do. God is not a man; He does not move like a man. He moves like the great God He is. If you have confidence to do what He has told you to do, then you should have confidence to know He will perform what He said. When you obey the Lord He will not fail you. Is your confidence in the Lord sound?

Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding (Proverbs 3:5). Be not afraid, only believe, Jesus said (Mark 5:36). Only believe, only trust. Confidence is full assurance, blessed assurance, a certainty. Do you accept all the promises of God, the whole Word of God with a certainty that brings peace of mind, joy and satisfaction in life?

Believe in your own abilities but never to the extent that you put more trust in them than in the abilities of God, and never insist on operating those abilities apart from God. He must operate them through you as you yield them to Him. This is called dying to the flesh that Christ might live in you.

Is Your Trust Complete?

God is to be trusted, someone to put confidence in. Has He ever failed you? No. Has He ever wronged you? If you feel He has, then you do not know God at all. Has He kept His promises? Of course. Then why not trust Him?

How can you tell if you are not trusting Him completely? Do you worry? Then the trust is not complete. God gave you promises in His Word, and you are worried about them. You are afraid God will not keep His Word. Had people promised you something, you would be justified in your worry, but not with God. Why put more trust in people than in God? People may disappoint you, but God has the power to perform that which He has promised. He keeps His promises.

Drink in the marvelous confidence that Isaiah 43:2 instills: When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee. This verse is profound. I will be with thee, I will be with thee. Let those words make music in your ears and in your heart. I will be with thee. What could be greater; what could be quite so great as God being with you? When God is with you, you have nothing to fear, nothing to worry about. He is saying, In time of trouble I will be with thee. Too often we let trouble crowd the promises of God out of our lives. We walk with trouble and not with God. The light of God’s promises is snuffed out through our own frustration, despair and doubt that God is really with us. We allow the enemy—our arch enemy the devil—to make us think God is nowhere around.

The rivers shall not overflow thee—this is protection power, promised help. When thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee. All God’s promises have been tested, tried and found to work. When the Hebrew boys were in the fiery furnace they walked through the fire unburned, neither did the flame kindle upon them. In fact, not even the smell of smoke was upon their clothes. God put His promises in the Bible and confirmed every promise through a human life. Many promises have been confirmed by many, many lives.

Why look at people today to see if God can confirm a promise that you need? Look at what God has said in His Word; look at the confirmation there. God does not offer promises we cannot use but promises we can accept, depend upon. Rejoice over God’s great promises!

[God] in whom we have boldness and access with confidence by the faith of him (Ephesians 3:12). With boldness we have liberty to come before the throne of God. We can move right into His heart. Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need (Hebrews 4:16). Again and again the Lord has confirmed through human lives that when we come boldly to the throne of grace, we find mercy, grace to help in time of need.

Beloved, if our heart condemn us not, then have we confidence toward God (I John 3:21). If you have no condemnation in your heart, you have confidence, trust in God. You cannot, I say again, have perfect trust in God if even a tiny bit of condemnation is in your heart, a tiny bit of wrong doing.

The Blood Kills the Dominion of Sin

Your sins will bind you for all time and eternity unless you trust in the blood of Jesus. It’s the only way. There is no liberty, no deliverance, no remedy for sin except the blood of Jesus. Church membership, water baptism without a change of heart will not save your soul. Those who think otherwise are deceived, not trusting in the blood of Jesus. If water baptism would save you from sin, Jesus would not have brought sinless blood into the world to spill in such agony of body, mind and spirit on the Cross. Without trust in the blood you will never be an overcoming Christian because you will never conquer sin. Until you conquer sin you will not conquer much of anything. Sin is your worst enemy, your worst affliction, your worst disease. Sin is your death but the blood of Jesus your life.

People who are insecure about their salvation do not have confidence that the keeping power of the Lord is theirs. They are not really trusting God’s Word or having confidence in what God has said. The Lord promised that if we confessed our sins and believed on the Lord Jesus Christ, He would forgive us, holding none of our sins against us. For sin shall not have dominion over you (Romans 6:14). The power in the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin (I John 1:7). Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ (Philippians 1:6). When God begins this good work in you, be confident that He will perform it. He will keep working through you. He will not cut you off—you may cut yourself off, but He will not.

Have you been born again? Then be confident that God has anointed you, that God is with you; He wants to use you and the abilities you have. I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me (Philippians 4:13). This is one hundred percent trust: I can do all things through Christ, nothing lacking.

It is essential that your life be pure, clean, holy like God Himself. God said, Be ye holy as I am holy. No condemnation, no fear. How can you have anything but trust when you have no condemnation?

Disobedience tarnished your trust in God. If you fail God in any way, you are not able to trust Him one hundred percent because condemnation for that failure will be in your heart. To trust God on hundred percent you must be without condemnation. You think you cannot be without it? There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit (Romans 8:1). Walking in the Spirit you will have no condemnation; that’s another promise God has confirmed in the lives of many people in the Word of God.

God had a plan for people who lived under the Law, but they did not live the life He wanted. That kind of life would require the blood of His Only Begotten Son. Only divine blood from Heaven could take the place of the blood that had been contaminated by sin in the Garden of Eden, only the blood of Jesus. It had to be divine blood, sinless blood offered as a lasting sacrifice for every man, woman and child on Earth. We can trust in that divinity completely. Through the blood of Jesus we can be free from the condemnation, the contamination and the penalty of sin; we can be without spot, one tiny blemish of sin. On the Cross Jesus stopped the dominion of sin for the world, for all who would take advantage of His gift. The Bible declares that man can live like Jesus. With no condemnation, we have confidence that we come into the presence of God, knowing His eyes are upon us.

Unnecessary Battles

Some are always in a battle with self; they just battle and battle. Does God hear me? They are not trusting Him one hundred percent or they would not have to ask that. Many battles are unnecessary battles, battles not for the purpose of glorifying the Kingdom but those that come about due to a lack of accepting what God has said. It causes great conflict in lives, makes it impossible to do the things for God that are needful. The real battles for God are not fought when people are bound up in self. The reason the Early Church glorified God in the beginning is that they laid aside all the little battles, battles with self and self-doubt. Is God going to answer? Does God care? Does God really love me? Are God’s eyes on me to do me good? Does God intend to see me through this trial? Am I in the will of God? Am I really walking with God? Concern over “I” and “me” overpower trust in God, and God is not able to shed abroad His love in your heart. Holding to your doubts rather than God’s faith can be a great hindrance. Many Christians have strife tearing up their minds. It seems they are continually battling wars that have already been conquered in God’s Word. They never come out wearing the whole armor of God to fight the real battles for the Kingdom of God that need to be won. They are not trampling devils underfoot, not destroying the works of the devil, for their preoccupation with the cares of this world has rendered them useless in the Kingdom of God.

Jesus, when He was here on Earth, showed us how to battle. He rebuked the devil with the Word of God. Jesus came to destroy the works of the devil. He had to have one hundred percent trust in His heavenly Father in order to do it because He had taken on the form of flesh with all its human weakness. To overcome the weakness of the flesh He called for the strength of Heaven. Jesus showed us how to call. He confirmed that all flesh who would trust in God could call on that same strength.

Because the Early Church trusted one hundred percent in the promises of God, they were a victorious church. Jesus said, I am the Resurrection, I am life! Though you be dead, you will live. If you trust in me you will never die. The Early Church believed His words. Even the killings couldn’t stop them. When a martyr was stoned to death, more believers carried on His work. The Early Church accepted all the promises of God; the promises were all they had to cling to. It gave them strength, life.

Power Stronger Than the Grave

Be not afraid to trust God with your life. Life is more valuable to Him than to anyone else. Life is so valuable that Jesus came all the way to Earth from Heaven and died so that you can have life. Study the Crucifixion, the sufferings of Jesus. He died for sinners. How can you ever doubt His love for you? How can you ever doubt that He is with you if you are born again? How can you ever doubt anything He has ever promised or said?

Paul said, That I may know him (Philippians 3:10). You first must know Jesus to be able to trust Him. The reason the disciples could not trust Jesus completely before Pentecost is that they didn’t know Him; they only thought they did. They didn’t know He would actually die for them, even though He told them about His death on different occasions. They didn’t know that He would resurrect Himself from the dead through the power of Almighty God. They didn’t know that death couldn’t hold Him. They didn’t know Jesus.

Few people today really know Him. Because of it, God’s people have become very weak, constantly talking about troubles, about sickness, weakness, despair, works of the devil. Do you talk about darkness or light? Hate or peace? Unhappiness or happiness? What do you talk about? Where is your trust? Are you afraid of the future? Yes? Then you do not trust the One who holds the future in His hands. Do you fear tomorrow? Where is your trust in the God of tomorrow? Do you really believe God holds tomorrow in His hands? Yes? Then God has tomorrow and He has you. He is not going to cast you out; He loves you. Jesus came from Heaven to rescue, not to kill you.

Why is it so easy for you to fear, to doubt? Because you are human. The flesh is weak; it can only believe God as it yields to God and His Word. You must yield to His Word. What you can receive from Him by yielding to His Word is truly fantastic!

When you come before God in prayer, nothing must separate you from your God. What can separate you from God? Your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear (Isaiah 59:2). Jesus came, delivered man from sin and brought all who accept salvation into God where there is no separation. The veil in the temple was rent from top to bottom when Jesus was crucified, signifying that God had come down and the wall of partition between man and God was destroyed.

Some of you do not trust God enough to believe there no longer is a wall between you and God. Are you one of those always trying to get beyond the wall, trying to get into God? God said to just walk in. Come boldly. The door is always open because Jesus is your door. He is always there for you. He said He would never leave you or forsake you. Jesus is the door into your keeping power, the door into your peace of mind, into all the love, health, wisdom and knowledge that is needed. Jesus is your door, your everything.

We’re Joint Heirs with Christ!

God’s ears are always open to the cries of the righteous. His promises are all the security you need. What are you doing with His promises? Are you making them count? Are they blessing and edifying you? What are His promises doing for you? How do you look at the Bible, which is your security? Is everything in it yours? Does it really belong to you? Have you become an heir to the Word through Jesus Christ? We are the children of God: And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ (Romans 8:16,17). If you have become a joint heir with Him, all Heaven is yours. You are a joint heir to all of God’s goodness and greatness.

Look beyond physical sight and see through the eyes of Jesus. He not only is your door into the Kingdom of God, He is your eyes. Through Him you are able to see all the greatness of God.

Jesus brought deliverance for mind, soul and body; He is the door into deliverance, ready to help you if you will trust Him.

Only Believe

To a man whose daughter had just died, Jesus said, Only believe. He is saying to you today, Only believe, only trust me, only trust what I have said, what I have promised. You will not believe Jesus unless you trust Him, and if you trust Him you do believe Him. What some call faith is no faith at all in God; it is simply trust in human abilities, in human strength.

If human help is not available, many people do not believe God will move for them. They miss divine healing because they look to man and not God. We believe in good doctors, good hospitals, and we are thankful for them all; for God put medicines on Earth for the benefit of man. But when human help is not enough, it is time to turn to God. I am the LORD that healeth thee, God said (Exodus 15:26). He is the Lord who healeth all thy diseases (Psalm 103:3). Just as He forgives all of your sins, He heals all the diseases of those who will believe Him, nothing doubting.

And Jesus went about all Galilee…healing all manner of sickness and all manner of disease among the people (Matthew 4:23). God does not save all manner of people nor does He heal all manner of people, for many reject His salvation and healing power. God heals all manner of disease. There is nothing God cannot heal.

God Is Your Protector

So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me (Hebrews 13:6). How much do you fear people? Can you boldly say that the Lord is your helper? When you really recognize the Lord as your helper, you will not fear. Why should you be afraid? The great, mighty God is with you. The great, mighty God shelters you; He is your protector, your life. Why fear the night? Why fear hate when the great God Almighty gives you all the love needed? Why be afraid of despair when He is your help, your trust? Ask yourself a few “why’s.” Why should you doubt, why should you be afraid, discouraged? Why feel oppressed and depressed? Why shouldn’t you have joy to lift you up? Why not use the joy that Jesus brought, the joy He furnishes and serves? The joy of the LORD is your strength (Nehemiah 8:10). The Lord has plenty of joy to furnish you with plenty of strength. I will not fear.

For the LORD shall be thy confidence, and shall keep thy foot from being taken (Proverbs 3:26). Is the Lord your confidence? Are you depending upon people for your confidence; are you depending upon your own abilities? No matter how strong you may look to others, you are weak: you cannot overcome without God. Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall (I Corinthians 10:12). Let the Lord be your confidence; He shall keep your foot from falling, and no one, not even the devil, can defeat you.

Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the LORD of hosts (Zechariah 4:6). Not the might and the power of man, but the Spirit of the Lord is my hope, my trust; and the Spirit of the Lord is flowing like mighty, mighty rivers. There is plenty of His Spirit available for you to use when you rely upon the power of His Spirit rather than the power of self. Why shouldn’t you use the Spirit of God? Why not look upon that mighty river flowing to you? There is no lack. His Spirit covers the whole earth. By His Spirit we conquer, by His Spirit we overcome.

Asking According to His Will

And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us (I John 5:14). We have confidence that He will hear if we ask anything according to His will. Trusting in the Lord one hundred percent means if we ask anything not according to His divine will, we expect Him to pay no attention. I do not want prayer answered according to His permissible will but only in His divine will. When He does not answer according to His divine will, that answer would not have worked for your good. God has a divine will for each life. I do not want God to answer one prayer because I am distraught and think it can only be answered my way. I don’t want God to answer my prayer because I might be dissatisfied with His divine answer.

And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him (I John 5:15). We know that He hears when we ask according to His will. Our prayer has gone through. You who have applied for a loan and learn that it’s gone through, you know you have the money as surely as if you had it in your hand. It’s the same with prayer. The Lord has the answer and it will all unfold in His good time. Have that confidence, that trust in Him. He hears your every prayer, and He will answer when we ask according to His will.

Lean Not to Your Own Understanding

How wonderful to really trust in the Lord with all of your heart! How wonderful to go to sleep at night in perfect trust! God has made Heaven available for you. All the devils and Lucifer himself cannot destroy your door into Heaven. The devil can’t close it; other people cannot close it; you’re the only one who can close that door by your disobedience and your sins. Your obedience and your trust, however, will keep it wide open. Why doubt Heaven when there is an open door that no man can close?

Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths (Proverbs 3:5,6). He is there, ready to direct you. Stop battling petty disturbances inside and outside of you with your flyswatter. Take on the whole armor of God that will glorify the Kingdom. Win the real battles. God and you make up a majority. God really cares. He makes the weak strong; He has all things needed for you.

Many times we kid ourselves into thinking we’re trusting in the Lord, but when things go wrong we are ready to run. We say, “Excuse me,” to the devil rather than, “Devil, God has given me power to trample you underfoot! I’m not running any more. I’m going to bulldoze you under!”

Trust in the Lord. He is your delight. Meditate in His Word day and night. Why meditate over those who have mistreated you rather than meditating in the Word of God? Jesus told us that in the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world (John 16:33). You are going to be bumped, hurt; but what does it matter? You can keep raining your feelings down on someone else, or you can turn them over to the Lord. Look to Him, trust in Him and His love will flow through you. The healing balm will be there to heal you, to send you forth in the power of His Spirit. Say to yourself:

I’m going to trust in the Lord with all of me;
I’m going to trust in the Lord till I die.
I’m going to trust in His Word,
I’m going to trust in all His Promises;
I’m going to trust in the Lord!

God Promises Healing

Have full assurance that the Lord loves you; His promise of healing is for you. Jesus said in Mark 16:18, They shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. What a promise! I am the LORD that healeth thee (Exodus 15:26). Have that confidence, that real confidence in the Lord, in His Holy Word, and get well. His Word will bring healing to your flesh. He sent his word, and healed them (Psalm 107:20). Let Jesus bring healing to you right now. Put your trust in God, all of your trust. Depend one hundred percent upon His Work and upon His promises.

Lord, I bring the sick and afflicted to you. Lord, I bring them in your confidence; I bring them in your trust, in your promises. I bring them to you, dear God, in the name of your Son Jesus. He is our door for healing. Lord, help people to know it today. From your gift of miracles, from your gift of healing the miracle comes. Heal the people in the name of Jesus, oh Lord, in the holy name of Jesus!

Let the healing power flow into your body—if that is your need—right now. It will work. Trust the promises in God’s Word. Healing is promised to you. He said He would get you well. Trust Him. Believe Him. Act out your faith. Get well. You can trust Him more than you can trust any human being you know. You can trust Him to be with you at all times. You can trust Him to make intercession to the Father each time you pray. Study His Holy Word. All His wonderful promises are yours. Look to your heavenly Father in faith, nothing doubting, and let Him serve you all things needed. Have complete confidence in the delivering power of your Lord and God.

For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord (Romans 8:38,39).

I have confidence.
